Carlo Ancelotti waiting for Arsenal job? Look down for solutions Arsene, not across the ocean..

Morning all.

The FA Cup draw took place last night with the big boys entering the pot. We’ve got a nice home fixture against a Sunderland side which we beat at the weekend. Big Sam will be rubbing his hands together at the very prospect of getting revenge for his 3-1 loss.

We huffed and puffed a bit on Saturday but thanks to Petr Cech and our goal scorers, a 3-1 victory was most welcome, if not slightly flattering.

But as many of us have said before, winning when playing badly is a good thing because once the injured players are back and we start to reach the peak of our game again, things could get a lot better. And let’s not forget that Fergie won many a trophy with a really average side, playing average football but the difference back then was, other teams just rolled over from the off and never really put up a fight against them.

The Premier League is very different now, no side truly believes that they can’t win a game, regardless of the opposition, well that’s how it appears to me from the outside. After all, who’d have thought a Newcastle team who haven’t been able to buy a point lately, would beat an in form Liverpool? Stoke beating Man City, well I’d never have thought the outcome would be 2-0 and to be honest, Stoke could easily have won the match 4, maybe 5-0. Let’s not forget Bournemouth either, talk about leave it until the last minute eh, but they did and boy did I laugh!

Maybe the standard of football played by the so-called better clubs has dipped, but just maybe the standard of football being played by the mid/lower league clubs has improved. I think it’s somewhere between the two but one thing is for sure imo and that’s looking at those mid/lower league clubs, there’s a lot of cracking players who a couple of seasons ago probably wouldn’t be seen playing where they are today.

But how many of them will want to stay put?

I don’t know the answer but looking back at the number of players who left us for ‘bigger things’, clearly used Arsenal FC as a stepping stone, a move to what used to be the best league in the world. After a season, maybe two, certain players were linked to Barca, Real, Man City, Utd and any other club which the media thought was bigger and better than us and once heads were turned, off they went. Many, no, most, lived to regret it but the odd one or two probably didn’t care, as long as their back pocket was full of cash, much more than they ever earned playing in North London….

Let’s be honest, not many players these days care about little else than money, some of course have pride in themselves and give their all each week and we have a few of those but I’d say there’s little chance that a player who currently plays for a mid/lower league table, would turn down a move to a bigger club should the chance be offered to them.

So, instead of looking overseas for a solution to our squad problems in January, perhaps Arsene Wenger would be better off looking at the players here in England instead. Perhaps he is as we need players who will hit the ground running and such players should in theory.

There’s a number of players in the PL who imo would make us stronger, our squad much deeper and who knows, the manager might even start rotating players in order to avoid such injury woes in the future….

PS – did you read that Carlo Ancelotti is happy to wait until 2017 before returning to management? Isn’t that when Arsene Wenger’s contract expires….. 😉

Have a good Tuesday guys…

Well done Mesut, PFA Player of the month..

Totally deserved, seems a long time since he was getting slated, without justification I hasten to add….

  2. potter says:

I see Craig Bellamy said that we should drop Ozil to play Ramsey in the middle. IF brains were dynamite he couldn’t blow his hat off.

  3. Wavy says:

What? Bellamy?? He has an is of 50! He’s not even as bright as a Toc H lamp! The only quality he has is that he knows how to assault folk! Esp on a football field.
Sky must be really desperate to employ him. They relay have dredged the bottom of the barrel!
    Allegedly!

Morning all. It was going quite well until………..!

  4. Uwot? says:

Nice theory Highbury.but players from the epl are overpriced.way overpriced!the economist has always stated this.now if said player was as cheap as chips.on loan or free.then he might, just might ,consider it.otherwise no chance…..

  5. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. Taking a look at Bellamy’s suit and that ludicrously absurd moustache last night made it impossible to take anything he said remotely seriously. Mrs Adam and myself were in stitches.
Another Joe Ronce looking for a few quid.

  6. scottfromoz says:

Scotts Palace is open with rooms to let in 2017 🙂 🙂
    YOU BLOODY RIPPER.
None of us saw it coming, but I’m still waiting to have t absolutely confirmed.
    Morning all

  7. scottfromoz says:

Got told tonight Sean’s school is negotiating a deal of sorts with Chelsea.
This came from the school principal.
I said it ages ago……a big club will see the potential at some point.
    Not those shit though lol.

  8. rico says:

Uwot – isn’t it English players who are over-rated rather than PL ones? Just a thought..

    Morning Adam.

Had a feeling you’d be excited Scott… lol

  9. rico says:

In any case, I think AW will have to pay over the odds because every clubs knows how desperate we are… No doubt AW will be thinking loans are the way to go next month..

  10. goonster says:

Carlito to the arse??? my God I ll leap for joy. Him over any other manager. Heck over pep too. He ll make us unbeatable while still playing some unbelievable football but I think it’s pipe dream maam. He ll be snapped up by either both manchester clubs or chelshit. Bummer.

  11. goonster says:

Hey Scott you ll love that won’t you? Lucky bastard 😀 I ll bet you ll see then live. Why can’t arsenal come to North Carolina? Lol

  12. rico says:

🙂 goonster, I’m a gentle soul, honest. Jut ask Adam…

Agree re Ancelotti – I bet the Glazers are waiting for LvG to go, unless they see Neville as next in line…

Still, we can hope Stan has something up his sleeve… lol

  13. tsgh says:

Carlito will be waiting a long time. he was hoping to take the job until we got beaten 8-1 at Old Trafford and then he signed for Psg…

  14. goonster says:

Don’t get your hopes up rico wenger’s contract ll be renewed. We haven’t seen the last of that bugger. He ll be here till 75! That’s a loooong time too. Lol

  15. scottfromoz says:

Rico, it is a long way, but I guess it’s their way of thanking us idiots for sitting up to watch them 🙂
I think the PL’a popularity in Australia and Asia would surprise most English fans.
Seriously, the interest here is already crazy.
Arsenal Australia have already had new members signing up in the last hour.
    It’s massive news here.

  16. goonster says:

Lol Scott I just found out Australia has 3 time zones!!! What in the world??? How big is that dump Scott? My God 😀

  17. scottfromoz says:

Stan, it covers a fair old portion of Europe 🙂
I think it’s around 6,000 kilometres across, and maybe 4,000 top to bottom….something like that.
    Big joint.

  18. goonster says:

Lol wait for it rico cause that’s exactly what is going to happen. He’s not leaving anytime soon. Like he said ferguscnut own horses he (wenger ) doesnt. Retirement ll probably kill him. I don’t see him going to a different club cause you and I know he won’t last long anywhere else so hey cheer up we re stuck with him for the time being 😀 lol

  19. goonster says:

Damn Scott Australia is huge then. Wow I have to visit you sometime scott. It’s the long flight that scares me.

  20. goonster says:

Come on scott everyone knows England is shite too. Lol hey who am I to talk my glorious oranje didn’t even make it to the euros. Lol

  21. scottfromoz says:

    Yes mate.
When I went last year, I stopped in Hong Kong, and had a 90 minute stopover.
On the way home, I stopped for 3 days.
To be honest, I preferred getting it done as quickly as possible.

  22. goonster says:

3 days!!!! Just to get home?? Now I understand why Australia is referred to as the land down under. Man alive that’s far.

  23. goonster says:

Rico Craig bellamy was on form on his debut last night 😀 what a turd hahahahah saying he ll prefer Rambo as number 10 and ozil should make way for him. Do these guys smoke cheap grass before coming on air or are they that stupid?!! Lol

  24. Wavy says:

I’ve heard that part of Wenger’s new contract includes a state of the art Motability scooter! Well, two actually. One kept in a specially constructed garage at London Colney and the other, under the stands at the Ems.
With that kind of inducement he’s hardly likely to retire yet.

  25. Orfevrerie says:

    Afternoon Lads,
    Great post Rico.

Carvalho, L Bender, Neves, Xhaka, Rabiot, Wanyama, and M’Vila.
Lists of possible Coq and Santi’s loses.

Personally I have very little confidence in Wenger signing another midfield player or he would’ve had of this summer. He made the choice to go with what we have until last resources.

But heard that Kim Kalstrom back in regular match, maybe AW’s scouts had finished their assessment on Kim?

  26. Orfevrerie says:

I think the PL’s popularity in Australia and Asia would surprise most English fans.

    True.

    Rico mate,

any rumors about Arsenal will go to Indonesia for pre next season?

  27. rico says:

Orfevrerie – I can’t see that AW has a lot of choice but to sign a midfielder. Not now both Santi and Coquelin are out until at least April…

If he doesn’t I’ll eat my hat… lol

  28. Orfevrerie says:

Apparently neither Ramsey nor Ozil trained today?

Prob just precautionary but raises a few eyebrows. If Ozil picks up an injury this season we really would be in trouble. Fingers crossed.

  29. Orfevrerie says:

Preview short as we can pretty much expect Olympiakos to get all eleven men behind the ball and rely on the break there is no excuse for not having a plan tomorrow. It’s the sort of situation where we can struggle to break the opposition down, so an early goal would be a real bonus. I can see them kicking us around a bit too so let’s hope for a strong referee. Arsene will probably go with Giroud, cuz there isn’t going to be much space behind for Theo to run into. Still hoping the best result for us.

  30. Lee says:

    1 win in August
    1 win in September
    1 win in October
    1 win in November. .

Chavs in the PL this season…………. HA FUCKING HA!!!

  31. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House,
Both Rambo and Ozil have gone with the First team.

Moore Bielick, Crawley and Jeff are all fit and are with the U19’s on same flight.

  32. Orfevrerie says:

Ancelotti points to the Frenchman Wenger, and Sir Alex Ferguson, as managers that are now ‘impossible’ to find, legends, and has supported Arsenal and Manchester United for their patience with the pair.

    Patience eh?

If wenger could match half of fergie’s trophys of 13 PL and 2 CL ones,

I will be the most patience and happy gooner fan…..

  33. Rick says:

Lee mate you will love this,

    (1) Arsenal 72
    (2) City 65
    (3) utd 63
    (4) Leicester 60
    (5) Spuds 59
    (6) Dippers 57
    (7)CHAVS 56
    (8) Palace 55
    (9) Stoke 51
    (10) Everton

This is the number of points that the top ten clubs in the P/L
have won in this calender year
    It gets better every day

  34. rico says:

Ice in your beer Orf, you must be kidding…. lol

    Afternoon Rick and all…

Winter is on it’s way, bloomin cold out there this afternoon….

  35. allezkev says:

Simon Jenkin in the Evening Standard was commenting that we don’t utilise our space well enough in London…
That more people should live in one bedroom flats…

That coming from a middle class shithead who probably lives in a 5 bedroom mansion in Highgate…

    Fcuking bellend…

  36. Rick says:

Certainly is Rico but it could be worse,we could live up norf with all the rain
Rico I hope you don’t mind me asking, are you running “10” ?
Every time I start up I am being told to download it, and I am would like to find someone who has done that .Have you?

  37. Orfevrerie says:

Well, it’s rainy season of course in Asia, but still kinda warm.

So beer with ice cube still my fav, like right now. I know it’s accustomed in your west people,

but still what a way to release yourself after work.

  38. rico says:

Rick, it’s awful up north, my heart breaks for those who have been flooded, especially as Christmas is so close…

I am running Windows 10, downloaded it a couple of months ago, only because it was free… Lol

  39. tsgh says:

Kev- I gather Simon Jenkin is subtly purporting the aims of agenda 2030. He should volunteer to move into the first sustainable 30 by 10 duelling then.

  40. tsgh says:

Rick make sure you have backed up important stuff before you run windows 10…
rico is probably the only person I have heard run windows 10 without any adverse effects.

  41. Rick says:

Did you download Rico how long did it take and did you have any snags.
They keep telling me the free version will soon end and it will be very expensive.
So I am thinking should I do it?

  42. rico says:

Ts, all my stuff saved and no problems at all…

Rick, it took a while but a smooth download for me, thankfully. Good job as I would have been snookered otherwise…

  43. Rick says:

Thanks Wavy You and Rico have convinced me if its not broke don’t try to fix it.

At the pressie in Greace Arsene has said the squade is unchanged from last Sat

  44. Rick says:

Evening Kev Enjoyed you Post on Sunday
Always good to get the facts from someone who was there.
Are you going to the City game.
Do know if Jan is living in London or just visiting.
I hope you are staying away from the station at E11 sounds dodgy.

  45. allezkev says:

Rick, I picked Jens up at Paddington, so I reckon that he came via the Heathrow Express etc…

Not got a ticket for ManCity yet Rick…
My son might come up with one last minute.com, I hope…

  46. allezkev says:

    Thanks Rick re: the post…

There was a bit of a nervous atmosphere at the stadium, which is understandable given the three previous EPL games…

  47. allezkev says:

Apparently the President/Chairman/Head Honcho at Olympiarkos is under investigation for match-fixing…. ?

  48. allezkev says:

    Just a thought???

The last two seasons have seen Arsene Wenger play his No.2 goalkeeper in the FACup, all the way to the final…

If he sells Ospina this January, does that mean that AW will pick Matt Macey?

  49. BT62 Gooner says:

Kev, i know i’m getting great value watching Ushited stumbling about and being booed by their own fans…They’ve been pretty quite over here for a while, long may it continue…lol

  50. allezkev says:

Hi BT, yes mate, I bet it was brilliant over there when we smashed ’em 3-0…

    Long may it continue mate.

In London all the Chelsea, ManUre and Liverpool shirts have disappeared long ago.

You see the odd ManCity shirt around Marble Arch/Edgeware Road, resplendent in its Etihad logo and usually being worn by an Arabic JCL…

  51. Lee says:

Memphis Depay left PSV to play CL football…………how fucking funny is that?

Saying that we could be joining them on spursday nights!

  52. tsgh says:

Wath, with you been missing for so long I was beginning to wonder if you were the real santa who apparently lives in the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Lapland. 😉

    Morning Rico and all
