Morning all.

Whilst reading another very popular blog into the late hours a few nights ago, I was quite surprised and rather saddened by the continuing and constant vitriol and poison spouted out by both sides of the ‘AKB’ v’s ‘Arsene Out’ debate.

It’s just over a week since Arsenal’s dramatic FA Cup victory. It’s a time when all Gunners fans should still be enjoying the clubs first piece of silver wear in a long long time…

I can see both sides of the argument when put thoughtfully and without insults and I have had a foot in both camps periodically but what I struggle to understand, is how entrenched and extreme both sides views have become and how Arsene Wenger, the most successful manager in the clubs history, has unwittingly caused such an unbridgeable schism in the fan base?!

On the one side, it seems that some Arsenal fans are genuinely disappointed that the Gunners actually won the FA Cup! They appear to have wanted Arsenal to lose as that would in their view, Β have meant there was a real possibility of Arsene Wenger not signing his new contract and walking away.

Whatever the result against Hull at Wembley, the club would not have withdrawn their offer of a new contract for Wenger, so the only way to achieve ‘Arsene out’ was a defeat to Hull and hoping that an escalation of Β unrest amongst the fans would ultimately lead to Wenger leaving the club under his own steam.

At the other end of the confrontation (it really isn’t a debate) are the ‘AKB’s’.

They seem to support Arsene Wenger no matter what. Arsene is beyond criticism in their world, so much so that you could imagine them walking away from Arsenal if Wenger left and maybe becoming supporters of his next club…

I could never properly support another club. I am an Arsenal fan, always have been and always will be! I’ll be right behind our boys through thick and thin but that doesn’t stop me having an opinion. Nor does it stop me from criticising the club if I think they could do something better…

AKB’s seem to be (or a lot of them) Arsene Wenger fans more than Arsenal fans and this view is an odd one to me and kind of makes me wonder how many of them were Arsenal fans prior to his arrival.

I witnessed one of these fans rubbishing George Graham and the 1970-71 team, almost delighting in belittling the successes and achievements of previous managers and teams and I cannot understand that standpoint.

I cherish those past successes and can only imagine that the blogger in question took such a controversial and pedantic position just to provoke a response. All this in-fighting is rather disturbing and I can only see it offering ammunition to the detractors of our club…

It also made me realise how lucky we are on Highbury House.

We may not be perfect but at least we’re civil to one another and enjoy a friendly blog which offers everyone the opportunity of an opinion, as long as they show respect to everyone else and I can’t think of a better place to be to discuss all things Arsenal.

As well as many other subjects such as music, food, drink, holidays, TV, vaping and keeping poultry of course… πŸ˜‰

Transfer gossip:

So then, we really are trying to signΒ Angel Di Maria – why?

Because The Express say we are. Not only us though, PSG and Monaco have also made offers for the Real Madrid man and if that’s all true, unless the player really wants to join his old team-mate, we’ll never win that battle.

The goalkeeper linked with us today is John Ruddy. He’s 27 years old, 6′ 4″ tall and the morning newspapers think he’s heading our way…

Finally, Kim Kallstrom could make a surprise return according to the player:

We had a long talk about everything. They were really happy with my work.

Asked whether he can see himself returning:

Yes. We we will see what happens. I had a fantastic time at Arsenal and like their style.

On that note…….

Have a good day all…..
