Morning all.

Kenny Dalglish has been writing for The Mirror about tomorrow’s game against Chelsea. His view is that no matter what the outcome is, Arsenal fans will still be grumpy and of course, remain very critical of Arsene Wenger.

He’s spent too much money on players.

He hasn’t spent enough money on players.

HeΒ shouldn’tΒ be playing Aaron Ramsey.

He shouldn’t be playing Mesut Ozil.

He doesn’t win enough trophies.

Don’t think Wenger can ever be accused of spending too much money but does Dalglish have a point?

If by some miracle we were to come away from Stamford Bridge with a victory, would the majority of fans still be on our managers back and be moaning each and every day about him?

I’ll be dancing in the street if that happens..

Dalglish went onto say:

You know what? I look at Arsenal and Wenger and I really don’t see what the problem is. I don’t understand why he gets all this criticism. I don’t understand why one defeat is used as a reason to question his position.

I agree, one defeat should never be a reason on it’s own to slate Arsene Wenger but we are talking about Chelsea, Jose Mourinho, someone who Arsene Wenger is yet to beat and many of us believe that’s all down to the fact that our manager doesn’t have what it takes to our think the dwarf! In fact Arsene Wenger struggles to get his side to beat other clubs around or above us too and that’s what frustrates fans.

Of course there are other frustrations too like not signing a couple of players who we so desperately needed in the summer but regardless, surely we should have enough in the squad to get a result tomorrow, IF we don’t go gung ho from the off..

HeΒ goes on to talk about our 17 years of being in the Champions League:

That is a hell of an achievement – you only need to look at the struggles Manchester United are now having to realise how difficult it is to attain that level of consistency.

Now there is a bit more money available at last, he has spent more on players and there are signs that Arsenal are becoming contenders again.

Yes he’s spending money but he didn’t address our defensive needs both at the back and in midfield and that’s half the problem. You could drive a double decker bus through our midfield at times, what we need to be able to do is park that bus in certain matches but we can’t or we simply don’t becauseΒ Arsene Wenger doesn’t like that style of football.

Last season, the club ended their trophy drought by winning the FA Cup, but it stillΒ didn’tΒ get people off Wenger’s back.

Well, this week he celebrated 18 years at Arsenal and I think it is time to give him a little bit of Βacknowledgement.

I don’t know why people keep digging him out. Maybe it is Βjealousy.

Now that last comment in my opinion is a big dig at the dwarf as he’s spent most of his time in England singling Arsene Wenger out with snide comments and there’s been far too many for me to mention. Some have been childish, some simply ridiculous and others, darn right cruel!

Yes, I too think Mourinho is jealous because not many, if anyΒ he has managed, have backed him when things got tricky!

I look at Arsenal and I see a team making progress.

Win, lose or draw tomorrow, Wenger’s ability to encourage that progress won’t change.

Wow, that’s strong support for our manager and all from a Liverpudlian too. Not any old Liverpudlian, he was the manager of Liverpool in 1989!

Perhaps he has a point, well, to a degree, a small degree, a very small degree…..

That’s it for Saturday – have a good day all…..
