After another summer transfer window of ending up disappointed that we didn’t sign every big named player on offer are we really that badly off? I don’t think so, not for one minute!

Yesterday AFC.com listed all of our players who could be on duty for their respective countries last night and here’s the list:-

Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Abou Diaby – France
Tomas Rosicky – Czech Republic
Andrey Arshavin – Russia
Cesc Fabregas – Spain
Thomas Vermaelen – Belgium
Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs – England
Jack Wilshere – England Under 21’s
Vito Mannone – Italy Under-21’s
Armand Traore – France Under-21’s
Emmanuel Eboue – Ivory Coast
Carlos Vela – Mexico
Marouane Chamakh – Morocco
Wojciech Szczesny – Poland Under 20’s

Add to them, we have

Alex Song
Robin van Persie
Johan Djourou
Nikki Bendtner
Samir Nasri

A good number of our reserves are also playing for their country at under 20’s and 19’s level.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Kos soon gets an international call up either, France are still in a mess and need fresh blood in their side. If he forms a great partnership with TV, his career will soon take off.

We may not have a team full of Terry’s, Gerrard’s and Rooney’s but right now would you want to? I know I wouldn’t, I’d rather our players are in the press for the right reasons!!

Some may still be young but they are being selected by their country at their respective level and having seen the German squad burst onto the scene during the World Cup we mustn’t forget that only a few years ago most of them were playing at under 21 level.

It’s all too easy to slate our team when we lose, pick huge holes in individuals when they have an off day but we have one of the most exciting young squads in the English Premiership and when the first eleven all gel together they play football other clubs can only dream of.

So maybe it’s time to forget all the blunders we saw last season and the one before and start a fresh.Β Move away fromΒ the Theo and Almunia witch hunt and get behind the team…..

Talking of Theo, very early into last nights England game the all too familiar sight was seen, Walcott was seen exiting the pitch on a stretcher. The good news is that his injury is nothing other than bruises so he could be back in time for the Champions League fixture on Wednesday, Bolton on Saturday will probably be too soon. Typical isn’t it, another player down just when he has found great form and all too often whilst on International duty! Other injury news is that Robin van Persie is out for at least another six weeks!

Here we go again!

Maybe Vela will be unleashed against Bolton, he only played 17 minutes for Mexico so he shouldn’t be ‘tired’!

New boy Squillaci made his debut last night for the reservesΒ in a seven goal thriller. He partnered Johan Djourou at the back and behind them was Fabianski. Blackburn had a strong reserves side out which included David Dunn, Jason Roberts, Β Steven Nzonzi and Benjani so it was a good test for the reserve side.

The Gunners came from two goals down to level before David Dunn restored the visitors’ lead with 18 minutes remaining. But Benik AfobeΒ levelled for Neil Banfield’s side. JETΒ struckΒ a late winnerΒ to end an exciting encounter at Underhill. Squillaci made a couple of good strong tackles during the game, Djourou gave away a penalty but if it wasn’t for an outstanding performance by Blackburn goal keeper Jake Kean, Arsenal would have been home and dry long before the end of the game. Oh, Denilson made his comeback from injury last too last night, no doubt we will all sleep easier now!

England Under 21’s were struggling last night until JackΒ Wilshere wasΒ brought onΒ at the start of the second half. They ended up winning after his introductionΒ made England farΒ more dominant.

Nice to see Pepe make another blunder, this time though it was for SpainΒ during a 4-1 defeat!Β ahhhhh Karma!!

Have a good day all…
