Arsenal set to announce two deals? ‘Don’t go’ says Petr Cech…

Morning all.

Short one this morning as I’m off to start and finish my Christmas shopping! I was hoping to run through Arsene Wenger’s press conference but he’s late as usual. He’s let me down…

Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of becoming Arsenal’s highest paid football as talks with the players representatives have gone well and between them and the club, a new five-year deal has been agreed in principle.

That’s according to reports in the newspapers this morning and the deal which should keep him at Arsenal until 2020 would earn Alexis around £40 million. Not bad eh! Apparently, a few ‘major incentives’ have been included in the contract. What they are is anyone’s guess but the Chilean doesn’t seem to need incentives in order to give his all, he does that regardless.

Also on the verge of extending his contract, is Mesut Ozil, a player who is in great form this season. No details of his bumper deal have been made up leaked.

Getting two of our best players new deals sorted out is smart as I’m sure the so called bigger clubs are watching them, hoping to lure them away from north London. Apparently Real Madrid want Alexis, well they can take a run and jump as these days, we sign their players not they sign ours! Mind you, there’s a few they can have if they really want them…

In other news, apparently Roma want to keep Szczesny once his loan spell ends but Per Mertesacker doesn’t want him to go:

Wojciech wants to compete. I think he’s a good goalkeeper and he can still develop.

The team wants him back – that’s good for him. He’s shown great character already in this team and I think he has got a bright future.

Szczesny is still young and there’s no doubt he can improve, a lot if last season is anything to go by but for Roma he’s number one. Coming back to Arsenal would mean sitting on the bench as there’s no chance he’ll replace Petr Cech. Well, not imo anyway.

That’s it for today, have a good one and catch up later…

    Good morning all.

Why do you get let down by Wenger Rico? If he is usually let for interviews then you should know him by now….lol…

Stan, Welbeck only had a knock to the knee how long he been out for???

Arsene really needs to ditch these perma crocks!

  4. goonster says:

Morning brudder Lee it’s ridiculous. Every season same thing. Hope we won’t be lamenting at the end of the season how injuries to key players cost us the league. God help us.

  5. goonster says:

Howdy Scott….but I thought we hired shad to rid us of all these horrible injuries. For a while it wired now we seem to have reverted to form. There’s something they’re not telling us.

I read somewhere that luke Shaw could back earlier than expected. This is the same dude that had his leg shattered yet our players can’t seem to shake off little niggles. It’s downright depressing. Is it the background room staff? Is it our training methods? London colney?? Or we just tend sign injury prone players.

    Hi Gooners,
Good to hear about Ozil and Alexis’s contracts extension. we should our best to always keep and add good players to be real title contenders.

All the best of Luck this season !!!

Goonie :- Wenger has always read other peoples injury lists before buying players and has never been adverse to taking a risk if he thinks he can get them at a great price . Also he has sold a few that could hardly run when they left . , Overmars , Pires , Kanu just from the top of my head all came with baggage and the 3 of them worked in our favour . Others of course have not Suker , Khallstrom ,Diaby , I am sure that there are many more have not . Certainly there is something suspicious in our constant injury situation , it’s not so much that players pick up the odd knock here or there , it’s the long terms out that they seem to get that worries me.

    10.49 Lee. Isn’t he a bomb disposal guy? 😉

    Afternoon all…

If anyone has problems loading HH or leaving comments because the comments box disappears often, please could you let me know… Thanks…

Hi all. Rico how would you expect a french to be on time. He got to look at himself in the mirror till he’s pleased with himself. From my observation Wenger says one thing meaning another. If he says he’s not negotiating, he definitely is.

Our muscle injury problems are shocking, am afraid they’ll stand in the way of achieving our ambitions. By now the club ought to have come up with better training and even diet for that.

  11. Marshall says:

Rico, my comment box always disappears on me (when am using google chrome on nexus) I have to switch browsers (chinese ones) or go to p.c/tablet to comment.

  12. rico says:

That’s interesting Marshall as I use Chrome but sometimes on the iPad the comments box goes too.

The Advertising company are trying to resolve the issues which is why the adverts are back up today…

  13. Marshall says:

    Morning all.
It’s good he denies it as it gets the player’s minds off the contracts- and the press off our back!

Rico am back to commenting on chrome. Thanks for the fix. Good day, as always looking forward for an exciting post today 🙂 (no pressure, lol)
