Arsenal Propaganda…… It Never Rains but It Pours…..

The saying that it never rains but it pours is an apt description of our opening start to the season!

I’m just a normal guy and no expert in the way that football decisions are dealt out but over the last few seasons, I have noticed a lot more decisions going against us than for us, some bizarre ones as well.

Many supporters in my opinion, have become used to these decisions going against us, with comments like, he deserved it and must accept the punishment.

Well I disagree and have now started to realise that decisions against us is getting worse.

Consider this:

With all of the teams that played in the Champions League last year, how many of the teams that qualified this year have:

1)  Started their campaign with two of their top players suspended?

2) Started with their Manager banned from the touch-line?

The answer to both I think, is just one, Arsenal!

This is a new season with new teams  and a new competition and they never knew we would get through.

You may think that I’m a touchy supporter but in our last three games against Barcelona, we have had a man sent off in two games out of the three, while they have lost none!

The same when Barcelona play Real Madrid, they have the same figures as us while Barca have had one sent off.

I have never seen a footballer with an oscar but these Barca players are actors, cheats out-and-out cheats! Is video evidence ever used in their games, certainly not against them.

When you look at The Premier League and our first game of the season against Newcastle, we have lost Gervinho for 3 games for the incident with Joey Barton and a 3 game suspension for Alex Song for an alleged stamp on the same player,  the latter was decided by  video evidence.

If they can make decisions like that from video evidence after the game has been played, why do they not have replays when video evidence shows that a ball has not crossed the line when a referee makes a mistake. Or like in Sundays Chelsea game, where John Terry whilst waiting for a corner kick in Chelsea’s favour, pushed a defender with both hands almost the same as Diaby’s against Barca?

Diaby got sent off but Terrys incident wasn’t even mentioned.

In the same game Lampard running through physically threw himself forward, diving in attempt to win a penalty. The referee realised that Lampard had dived and didn’t give the penalty but did he book Lampard for diving? Of course not.

I haven’t got a problem with playing to a set of rules but that set of rules must be for all and not just a few.

Songs three match ban by video evidence must now become the norm and in the case of Bartons incident with Gervinho, Barton got a yellow so cannot be judged but what about his partner in crime Taylor, he was as guilty as Barton. Why wasn’t he judged by the FA when looking at the entire incident?

Maybe because he was not in an Arsenal shirt as I said before, one rule for us and one rule for the others.

The Governing bodies are a joke, the top one FIFA have been accused by our government of being corrupt and they run football.

UEFA take care of European matters but they take their lead from FIFA so are they be corrupt as well and not to forget our own FA. Although not earning the same kind of money as the other two, they still run by adopting the same idea’s as the rest, are they corrupt?

Who knows but there is a split within the FA as the Premier league now runs its self but that is where the money is.

What do you think?

Arsene Wenger is not exactly the supporters favourite man at the moment, he’s not a favourite of the FA and UEFA either by all accounts. Wenger wants football to be a level playing field, he believes that football should be run as a business where you spend only what you earn. Then its up to the teams to do well to get more support.

In turn that earns the football club more money, so they can invest that money on better players and you know the rest.

I believe that Wenger is an honest man and I believe he feels the governing powers are corrupt, Wenger calls for fair play rules but the wealthier clubs don’t  seem to want them.

Money gives you a great deal of power in this world, enough of it can buy you anything, corruption works where there is money, so I will leave that for you to dwell on.

I would just like to add, a lot of supporters are dismayed at the moment, you are reading in every news paper that Arsenal are in a very vulnerable position, they print more about Arsenal than any other club but of course you know that.

For month’s now, every time I get in my car, Talk Sport are running our manager down, or discussing something negative about our fine club.

I urge you all not to let this propaganda sway you from your support, they tried this back during the war, don’t let them corrupt your minds now.

Keep the faith and express your views in attendances, sing our songs and be loud and proud, don’t let the b******s wear you down, after all we’re Arsenal supporters, coming up to our hundred and something years and we will go on for ever, long after I’m gone, that’s for sure.

We are Arsenal through and through we will overcome all this rubbish to rule again, I honestly believe that and you must as well.

Newcastle was a tough game, Liverpool will also be a tough game. They have many new signings  and we have a depleted squad but we will go out there and work our socks off again and I honestly believe we will win, even with the odds stacked against us.

We’ll stand tall and proud, and come away with a result.

Then it’s Udinese on Wednesday after little time to recover but that’s they way they sort these fixtures out I’m sure, maybe they think they have depleted us enough for us to be knocked out.

They say Udinese is a two bob team but we know different, these Italians are out there for a win, they will fight all night long and we have to hold our corner. We can and I’m sure we will, fend them off, the powers that be can throw everything they have at us but we will never lay down.

If they want us out, they will have to cheat us out but we are wise to them now and we will not lay down.

They may cheat us but they won’t defeat us.

COYG.

With great difficulty I managed to read your article. I have only two comments. I finally find someone who isn’t swayed by what the media says, so I’m glad to have find an Arsenal fan who isn’t fickle. Second, please change your background to a single solid colour, there’s no way your article, however good, would be read if you have it this way.

    Morning all…

    Thought provoking post SP…

I tend to agree that all sides are not treated equally and we do tend to be on the end of some strange decisions, RvP’s sending off against Barca is one that sticks.

Nasri and AW’s subsequent bans were down to them feeling the need to speak out, they should have known better, despite emotions running high after the game.

Song imho got what he desrved as did Gervinho but taylor should heave been dealt with but the FA bottled it and just charged both sides with failing to control their players, the easy way out….

  3. Vinay says:

Terrific read mate, if only the world opens it eyes and treats us fairly. f we complain we are called moaners if we dont we are considered soft, the irony of the game which is supposed to be fair to everyone.

  4. GunnerPete says:

Its alright preaching to the converted mate, BUT how and when are you going to get this ‘very true and factual article’ in front of the millions of non Gunners? Things will never change unless and until the other’ fair’ supporters left in UK can see the proof of ‘anti Arsenal’ propaganda from the UK press 7 media. Also it is amust that someone starts up a protest online about the disgusting one way treatment dished out immediately to Arsenal by the loathsome FA. They are filled to the brim with establishment figures and brown nosers (like Brooking) who seem to represent only the North of England and /or the billionaire clubs who are currently buying all the trophies.

  5. stu says:

good read, but what you are moaning about is out of arsenal’s hands

what we should be moaning about is what is going on with our beloved club and why did we allow to sell our key player and captain at the time without already bringing in a replacement before he left as we are supposed to have ££££ already in place before cesc transfer fee

we could have got juan mata in but it looks like we could lose out to our rivals or have to spend even more ££££ on him

thats the questions that should be asked to wenger and gazidis

nasri will be sold this weekend and again we have no replacement

and again the injured regulars; gibbs, rosicky, djourou are once again injured along with diaby!!!!!

WE ARE A JOKE AT THE MOMENT!!!!

  6. JonJon says:

    we are thread bare rico
    very brittle right now
we need reinforcements or we can expect another long season with the club getting picked on

  7. goonster says:

Chelsea is apparently after mata…..what a bummer. We had the whole summer to sign him. The player himself rejected a move to the yids just to facilitate to the arsenal but alas we missed out yet again. Reminiscent of the Alvarez deal….sorry to start on a negative note guys…..morning guys

  8. JonJon says:

we missed out on mata cos we got oxo and ryo

wenger wont be signing anyone else..this is the squad im afraid

hes already brought 9 players into the first team..
thats more than what weve sold

  9. rico says:

I agree jj, we are in a mess – it’s all very well suporting loud and proud which we all will but the reality is unless something happens fast we are in deep poo….

  10. scoot says:

Well said steve , i remember when eduardo was burnt at the stake for his supposed dive ,on the same night ashley young flopped down like a stuck pig in the uefa cup twice, proven dives….nowt said, and rooney elbowing some poor sod as he ran past him , nowt said and barton /nolan shoving shezzer over ,result yellow card , shoulda been red just 3 instances which in my opinion show a definate bias against us , i could mention plenty more concentrate on this boo boys and support the team , after all we could have bought Degea for 20mill then you would really have something to moan about

  11. by says:

FA being un fair is like dinging a grave for themselves. As for Asernal people should not get worried because Fab and Nasiri was to join cash clubs. Its a matter of time and you will see the cramble at the feet of mighty Asernal . Keep the faith. WE ARE THE GUNNERS FOR EVER and with A HISTORY.

  12. AfroGunner says:

Great Post. At least we have some poeple seeing through the media agenda. In Barcas game against Real Fabregas was hailed as the best midfielder in the world but same media downplayed him at arsenal. Same as Gallas now a pillar in Spurs and the list goes on

  13. Adam says:

I don’t read the papers and I never, ever listen to TalkSport. I read a few blogs and quite honestly I am staggered at the crass stupidity of some of them. Many of them are written by people who either don’t go to the games, or live abroad. To take a position and defend it without a single regard for what is staring you in the face is incomprehensible to me. It is understandable to love he club yet have grave misgivings about Wenger’s current position and stance. It doesn’t mean you should go and support Spurs. It is ok to change your mind. When things stop making sense a wise man stops to think. At this moment that is where I am. It’s a mixture of what I see and past experiences with Wenger’s promises and actions. I don’t feel it is negative. I think it is quite natural. If he identifies our needs and addresses them, great. If he doesn’t then what will happen will happen.

  14. JonJon says:

the support would be better if the PR was better..
and so far our PR has been down the toilet

we needed a rebuild this summer, not just on the pitch but off it as well and weve got neither.

  15. rico says:

Morning Adam, and what will happen if he doesn’t is twe’ll struggle and then won’t only be Nasri and fabregas who jump ship… 🙁

  16. rico says:

what narks me so much jj, and i know i sound like an old broken record, it’s all the promises made by IG and AW, the busy transfer window, the early deals to be done and yet again we get nothing…

I should have realised it was all about ST sales, it always has been but this time it seems fans are not re-newing….

  17. Adam says:

If you can see it Rico and I can see it, along with thousands of other Gooners, then why can’t he? My feeling is that he can see it and in many ways that is even more worrying.

  18. Will says:

    Thank you Steve.

I am fed up watching games and constantly asking “why is that a foul but that isn’t”?

We are held to a different standard by the powers that be.

Does no one else see the problem we face?

  19. rico says:

Bit of good news about JD, he’s fit for tomorrows game but no

    Wilshere
    Rosicky
    Diaby
    Gibbs
    Traore

    Gervinho
    Song

  20. Adam says:

Rico. I think the ST thing is very short sighted on their behalf. The lifeblood of Arsenal is the continued support of the fans for many, deep and quite emotionally precious reasons. Play with that at your peril. Did you see the piece on the Gazidis/ Wenger body language picked up by a Japanese TV station before the kick- off the other night? Very revealing I think.

  21. JonJon says:

another summer of spin will not go down well

    not with the current squad

and we didnt really have ryo, we were waiting on a permit we got it and we paid 15mil for oxo..mata deal dead.. we got two potential players for half the price of an established one..
its the rsenal way..or should i say its the arsene way

  22. goonster says:

Morning will…….you really helped yesterday sorry but am still bummed out especially with chelsea chasing mata.

  23. rico says:

That’s something I don’t understand Adam, he’s a football manager, one of the best in the world but so many weaknesses in our squad are staring everyone in the face yet not Arsene’s..

I don’t believe for one minute he is being stubborn just to go against all that others say, he has to see we are too weak a squad to win anything this season…. or more importantly, to compete for anything…

So why does he not do anything about it?

I just don’t know, nor do I understand why he doesn’t…

  24. wrightydenhenry says:

Great post and I totally agree with your point of view about the propaganda, my mate thinks its a conspiracy how could they possible let an honest club with great integrity win anything that would be scary for all those billionaires who want to invest in the Premier League!! Our PR problem is that without Fizman, Dein and Edelman we are left with Peter Hill-Wood and Ken Friar what more can I say……and Silent Stan of course!
I have supported this club for 45 years and this is a challenging time for fans but we must get behind our squad whoever they are and give them everything. Come on Arsenal……!

  25. rico says:

It’s looking that way though, unless he’s going to spring a few surprises in the next twelve days….

    Hi will & goonster

  26. Omglol says:

Arsenal FC We’re by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen !

Its sad to see how lot of comments do exacly what you wrote. Fell on the media propaganad of anti Arsenal. Using fake news as facts to spit on own club and Wenger. Hope this year our kids make look like fool everyone from media to shit of supporters.

  27. wrightydenhenry says:

My gut feeling is that we either didn’t really have the money until we saw what was happening with champions league qualification, worth about £25M, or that the board have decided to swallow the pain for a year and make us debt free?? So teh y are all covering up I can’t explain this any other way?

  28. K-TR7 says:

Morning.good read steve.i agree with you.there must be hundreds of articles about us in the papers this summer only.however we are a big club sitiuated in London and it comes with the territory.also arsene is a marked man and that contributes too.

  29. Will says:

Wenger is trying, you can believe that but his success in bringing unknowns in had back-fired and now the money clubs are buying the best “unknowns” at inflated prices that we can’t compete with.

  30. Adam says:

Rico. I said it before, but in the words of Abe Lincoln. “A house divided against itself cannot stand”. To use the argument that, if you criticize him, he may walk away, is as intellectually stunted as they come. Sure, there are some people who will moan, no matter what and there are some who will praise no matter what. But most walk a more solid path and react to what they see. People like David Dein should perhaps ask themselves why are these fans not happy at the moment. Do they have a point?

  31. Frank says:

  32. EastSidePaul says:

I don’t know if Wenger actually sees himself as an actual manager anymore, he seems more preoccupied with making money, making money seems to be his main concern these days. Does ANYONE here actually think that the money we take in for transfers this summer will be put back into the squad? Is it ever? We really are looking like a mid table team at the moment, with the likes of liverpool and spurs spending and becoming stronger, we have yet again weakened our side, selling class and expierence and bringing in kids.

Does anyone recall the late equaliser to liverpool last season? Do you recall after the game talking about how if we had a 17 year old winger that we would have seen the game through and won? Well I don’t remember that bit! Wenger has lied to us yet again, telling us he will buy what is needed, and yet again he hasn’t. Does he actually know what is needed? Does he live in his own world?, with all the yes men like Pat Rice surrounding him, telling him that every move is a good one, while in fact this is by far the worst squad of players to ever play under him at Arsenal.

Yes we are unfairly targeted by the FA by UEFA, god knows we’re not crazy, far too much has happened against us to be a coincidence. But why is there an anti-arsenal bias? From the FA side of things, is it because the club isn’t seen as a real British club playing real Britsh football? UEFA, is it because we came close to beating Barca, the team UEFA holds up to the rest of the world as the poster children of European football?

I will continue to support this club as I have done my entire life, but I am not willing to pretend that everything is just as it was. I have watched Arsenal become one of the most feared clubs in europe in the recent years only to crumble just as quick because one man has a point to prove. It really is maddening.

  33. agirlagunner says:

Boo! Good one, Steve. I’ve never shaken off the feeling that’s there is some conspiracy against us. Too many Johnny Foreigners, maybe. Having said that, it is now up to our management and AW to give the naysayers less ammunition with which to shoot us down. Buy quality and stop saying this player or that is staying only to sell. 😉

    Good morning, all. 🙂

  34. JonJon says:

if we go into sept with this same squad, the team will have my support but wenger stan and gazidis wont..
the money is there, the players are available the window has been open months..

and we are dithering about, testing the water seeing if the young lads can get us thru

    sound familiar??

  35. K-TR7 says:

I don’t mean to be pessimistic but i do not think we’ll sign anyone to add to our first team.this summer is very similar to the summer 08.we lost hleb, flamini and rosicky but arsene only replaced hleb with na$ri.he also bought bischoff and silvestre.the same thing is happening this year,we are going with youth again.we are going to rely on ramsey, oxo and ryo which will in all likelihood cost us.most of these youngsters view us as a nursery and will not blink when a bigger club comes around after they become very good players.villa let us off the hook in 08/09,spurs/pool won’t.o add to our first team.this summer is very similar to the summer 08.we lost hleb, flamini and rosicky but arsene only replaced hleb with na$ri.he also bought bischoff and silvestre.the same thing is happening this year,we are going with youth again.we are going to rely on ramsey, oxo and ryo which will in all likelihood cost us.most of these youngsters view us as a nursery and will not blink when a bigger club comes around after they become very good players.villa let us off the hook in 08/09,spurs/pool won’t.

  36. Will says:

Does anyone here sit on the board meetings at Arsenal?

Everyone seems to have an opnion as to who is killing Arsenal but none of us really know what rules Wenger is working to.

Having watching the mid 70’s team week in week out at Highbury and living in Tottenham when they were better than us, I will support this team no matter what.

I am not a Tottenham fan who cried for a new manager every three months. I am a Gooner tall and proud.

  37. arsenal fan says:

    good post steve,
rumours are that mancini has said the signing of samir nasri will be done very quickly now…..

  38. rico says:

    Morning agag & Kt

My view is similar, i’ll always support the club, I have no choice, it’s in me – but any one manager or a board are not our club and that’s the difference……

Money is not an excuse this summer, you only have to add up how much we have made on sales and all of that money should be re-invested imho.

And we are just about to take in excess of £20 million for Nasri, how much does that all add up to??

  39. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

    Propaganda?
Wenger doesn’t endear himself to the media. Everyone knows that. Everyone sees that.
“We don’t discuss our business in public….”
“We only want super quality players”
    “we didn’t get enough credit…”
    “Nobody is leaving..”
etc. etc etc.. blah blah blah
The club is crying out for good, experienced players and he goes and buys 3 kids and a flash and wasteful African with no end product – and who’s bound to miss the winter matches with the ACN. In fact an African with no self control and who’s already into us for 3 missed games…

The press surf these blogs day in day out and they see the constant negativity surrounding the club… and its made worse by the recent support at matches …
….I’m a technical journalist, and I have NewsNow on most of the day… A sports media journalist will be a 1000% more intense than myself.. and they’ll have NewsNow refreshing every one of the top 6’s blogs 24/7.. And they’ll certainly know the different feelings of the supporters of each club.. Mainly because they are buying and we are selling.. Their supporters are looking forward and we are not.

Wenger’s digging his own hole … and that was well before Fabregas and Nasri left..

Wenger knew he needed Jagielka and Mata and still does. The money’s there yet they still don’t arrive. Cahill is there as is Parker and Barton, the latter of whom he described as a great player. The latter of whom who is on a free and was more cute than both Africans on the pitch at St James’, and was more cute that the 6ft4 crock who was on the pitch at St. James’ last year and who has been on the treatment table more than he’s ever been on the pitch since he joined.. which begs the question – why is he still here?

We are lacking defensive midfield, and Wenger supposedly has the “inside track” on EVERYTHING in Ligue 1. He boasts how much he knows and how much we don’t – So????
Cana went to Sunderland and Jeremy Toulalan went to Malaga – and for very sensible fees…. and he let Diarra go to Portsmouth for peanuts who then got lifted for £20M to Madrid….?
…Offensive players – Champions Lille have Hazard as their iconic poster boy so Wenger raided the club and instead of coming back with the hottest property, bought the cheap African option….
…We could have had Mexes a few years ago yet Wenger bought Silvestre then Squillaci?
Benzema? Wenger said, “I didn’t know Lyon were selling him?”
    The list is endless.

Hillwood? Another one who doesn’t endear himself or Arsenal to the media.
Hillwood inherited his position and as such, comes across as a pompous old fart… On Stan Kroeke – “We don’t want his sort….”
What’s that supposed to f******g mean. I bet he wouldn’t say that about Eboue, Song or Diaby…
….Even though all three are mediocre.

Arsenal have always been a reviled side outside of North London.
When GG was manager we were boring and Adams was a donkey.. Ian Wright and Smithy bagged thirty goals a season yet he couldn’t be a regular for England… etc etc

Wenger changed the UK’s philosophy on Arsenal and when we were fighting on all 4 fronts last season and taking the league cup seriously our football was described by the media as being nothing less than “brilliant to watch” with the 2-1 win over Barcelona the pinnacle. We were the boys – and there was no propaganda or itinerary against the club…

We fell apart after Birmingham, there was dissention in the ranks and we lose our best two players through summer and in their place buy the 3 kids plus Lille’s answer to Tony Daley… And Wenger bullshits and lies…

Is it any wonder the press are now on his back?

The good thing Wenger has done is get shut of some of the deadwood. Eboue, Glichy and Denilson and hopefully Bendtner and the Spanish George Wood.
Next year, if he’s still here Diaby and Song might follow them.

All Wenger needs to do is buy 4 decent players and everyone’s morale would be up and the press would be off his back… WHY? Because so would the fans … The blogs would be happy.

  40. Mr islington says:

Will yet again how can you say we can’t compete,we have the 4th highest wage bill and 70m in the kitty.

We can compete but we are moving way too slowly.

  41. Will says:

Because Mr Is, unlike Chelsea and Man City (the two clubs above us) we have to pay all wages from the money we make.

  42. K-TR7 says:

I don’t think we’ll win a single game this week.our squad is very weak at the moment.i can see us losing to udinese next week to send us to the Europa league.i hope am wrong but thats my gut feeling.the spuds will love it. moment.i can see us losing to udinese next week to send us to the Europa league.i hope am wrong but thats my gut feeling.the spuds will love it.

  43. rico says:

    Hi Mr Is,

have to agree, we have a lot of money, we are not asking for big players on huge wages to break us, just 3/4 who will give us more depth and strength….

  44. agirlagunner says:

Hello, JJ! How are ya? KT, we are not that bad. 😉

On a happier note, rico, the House is approaching a million hits! 🙂 Brilliant! I emailed you something nice. 😉

  45. K-TR7 says:

Goonster there is no chance this squad will even get a point at 0T.Firstly the refs won’t allow it.secondly they have own goal back.finally we are not good enough.i can see us being battered by them next week.don’t forget song and gerv are also out.jack it seems won’t make it too.

  46. Mr islington says:

Rico your post at 11.15 sums me upto a tee.

I have to support the club because there in my blood and i will stand by what they do,even if i don’t agree with what’s going on at this moment of time.

It’s just really hard to accept what’s going on and let’s be honest a bit worrying. Why should Arsenal fan’s have to lower our expectations, when Wenger was the person who made us believe we could be the best.
Why have we changed from being being real contenders to just being happy with 4th place finishes.

Are we now just happy to reach the champion’s league and just be a extra init now??

  47. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

    Thanks Rico, thanks EastSide Paul.

We all love the club and it is frustrating.

I never understood the buying new players after players gone.

If Mata and Jagielka had arrived before Fabregas left, he maybe would have thought twice about leaving.

  48. rico says:

agag, not bad in less than a year, tha’s down to all you guys 🙂

I’ll check my emails shortly, thank you – but if it’s clear blue waters i shall be very envious 😉

  49. goonster says:

KT am sorry I beg to differ but we might actually do them. We ve got nothing to lose and they ve got tons to.

  50. Mr islington says:

    Will,

Let’s use Mata as a example. He is on about 25 grand at week at Valencia. Are you telling me that if we moved quick enough that we couldnt afford him???

Come on!!!….We ain’t no two bob club now are we???

  51. K-TR7 says:

Me too rico.it seems we’ll be without song, gerv, sicky and jack tomorrow from midfield in addition to diaby.in our first team we have only 2 CMs fit:frimpong and ramsey.frimpong has never played a full game in the PL while Ramsey has yet to convince me since returning from injury.since its unlikely that wenger will change the formation we may end up with a MF of frimpong, landsbury and ramsey

  52. rico says:

    Mr Is

We talked yesterday here about the club being more honest about money – but my opinion is that the fans are already paying enough in ST’s food/drinks at the stadium etc and other fancy clothing which all funds our debt clearing.

We have a lot of money now which has been generated by player sales, we all know pretty much how much that is don’t we.

That money could make this current squad a squad to fear no team, a squad that could win the CL, not just aim to be ‘part of it’ each year.

As SYG says clearly, the club knew who they were going to sell on, they already our weaknesses before any sales, Wenger said that in an i/v – but we have done nothing to rectify those weaknesses, nor have we bought players to compensate for our losses.

Yes, Chamberlain, Jenkinson and Campbell may turn out to be good, but they are not going to help out us conceding goals, and that has always been our weakness….

Ok, i know someone will say we have yet to concede but with Gibbs out, JD already picking up niggles, we are one CH injury away from a crisis…

I will always love and support AFC, but as for what/who goes on at the top, that’s debatable….

  53. rico says:

Kt, JD is fit, i’d be tempted to put in in a midfiled of four, alongside Frimpong…. with Ramsey and Lansbury…

    Theo and RvP up front..

    Ches

    Bac Kos TV Jenkinson

    Ramsey Frimpong JD Lansbury

    Theo RvP

  54. Mr islington says:

    Will,

Even if say he weanted 80 grand a week???…we would still have enough because of the players we have already got of the wage bill.We can afford these player’s mate.

  55. Mr islington says:

    I don’t think he’s a spy 😆

But he looks very lost right now and unsure what to do.
I think he’s lost touch with how the games changed and maybe is a little like the fans and disheartend by players loyalty now adays.

  56. goonster says:

Is arshavin injured? Why is he missing from your team rico? We need his unpredictability and explosiveness in the final third. Don’t forget Liverpool owe us a hiding and its been four years coming. Am positive we ll win tomorrow…..2:1 to the arsenal.

  57. Will says:

Or, it could be that everytime he goes for a player, he is quoted stupid prices and the fans are believing what they read in the gutter press?

  58. rico says:

    goonster,

I have gone for the height and a bit defensive, and of course a good old fasioned 4-4-2..

Then, when the dippers tire like they did against Sunderland, bring on Ryo, Chamberlain and AA (well, one or two of them)

    🙂

  59. K-TR7 says:

Wenger once said he is stubborn and stupid,i agree.id also like to add arrogant.i remember ibrahimovic once saying Arsenal fans pay too much money to watch a youth team.he got lambasted for those comments but he was spot on.our manager is obsessed with youth players.

  60. Mr islington says:

Funny how thou he had a release clause in his contract that they had to let him go for 18m???…And we didn’t come up with money.

I think your clutching at straws to much will,You really believe that Arsenal are a poor mans club by the way you are sounding.

Did you know that we are the third richest club in the forbes list??

There’s no excuse’s about not have no money, look at the transfer fee’s we have bought in over the last 5 yrs.Where is all our money??

  61. rico says:

That’s why AW should have done his business early Will, the longer he leaves it the prices go up, and now every club knows that we have money….

I don’t believe any of what is in the press, don’t think many fans do to be honest Will…

  62. DJ says:

Well reported Steve, as per usual, you talk a lot of sense.
Now I dont listen to TALKSPORT for the very reason you noted that they are always running our Club down. Its all so negative about us and so very positive about MANCs, CHELSEA, MAN CITY, BOLTON, WBA in fact every other bugger in the League except us. I’m a 5LIVE kinda girl and even they are getting on my nerves saying we are crisis, (ALAN GREEN in particular is very negative) and that the next 3 weeks are the key to Arsenes whole career!! All this negatively is filtering through and is obviously getting to the fans and probably the players too.
But did anyone hear BOB WILSON talking on 5LIVE this week just prior to the Champions Leaguie game. Its well worth catching it on IPLAYER etc. He made it quite clear that there is a Media agenda to get ARSENE WENGER out, and that everyone in the media knows it.
SO my plea is take no notice of these jumped up hacks and their limitless expense accounts and phone hacking. Trust in the MAN and we will succeed – BELIEVE everyone, BELIEVE!

  63. goonster says:

Knowing wenger he might start with one of the youngsters in the team…am thinking ryo miyaichi? Hope he doesn’t though. Caragher is a known thug and bully. Bring him in only after they tire.

  64. alan b'stard M P says:

    Rico

AW knows what he is doing. He intentionally does not do business early. The board wants profit, not signings that cost money. That is the business model

AW says he will get this player and that one is baseless statements in the hope of shutting us up

  65. mykollins says:

nice post but that is not the issue now.let him(AW)buy mature player who handle situation.what you are did not happen during the time of wright, berg, PV, TH 14,and order mature players.pls let face our problem and other for them.y mature player who handle situation.what you are did not happen during the time of wright, berg, PV, TH 14,and order mature players.pls let face our problem and other for them.

  66. rico says:

    Hi alan

i don’t know what Wenger thinks or why he goes about things the way he does…

like we said yetserday, if only the club would tell us more, be a bit more open but it seems a closed book and we are just left guessing..

I can’t see he’d let fab and Nasri go and not look to reinforce, i also hope he was truthing when he said he will address our defence…

he just doesn’t have a lot of time left….

  67. rico says:

the more I think about things the more i believe that Wednesdays result will dictate what palyers we buy, what players will want to join…

    CL or Europa…..

  68. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

Alan Green has always been negative towards Arsenal – A good few years ago, Arsenal did Man City at Maine Road 1-0 with a last minute Ian Wright goal – I think it was the year we bought Bergkamp & Platt and he was commenting on 606/909 and all he did was slate Arsenal and slate the match … Even to the neutral he must have been really annoying

  69. MGR_Gooner says:

Good points JD. I think all true Arsenal lovers should make a stand and come out with one voice for their club – that’s what being a supporter is supposed to be about! It’s certainly frustrating that every Asenal story in the media is so negative – where does that come from – is it envy, or is it just typically tabloid that after building us up big in the good years they are now delighting in our recent demise/struggle? Either way, Wenger was never going to do any major transfer business before Fab & Nasri futures were sorted and possibly not until our CL destiny is resolved next week. Hang on the ride might be bumpy, but now that Cite and Chelsea are almost done in the market I expect Wenger to make his move (hopefully moves!)

  70. Savage says:

The club is swamped with problems right now, but still … I’m looking forward to seeing the team tomorrow. Especially Frimpong and one of Ryo or OC. Up the gunners!

  71. Savage says:

I want to see more of Chezney, the potential superstar keeper. I’d like to see how TV and Koz go up against a good team. I’d like to see Theo bombing down the flanks, and Ramsey skimming through the plodders and laying balls on a plate for “fountain of goals” RVP. Arshavin to see if he can replicate “that night”.

The boys in red and white…. go for it!

  72. rico says:

Nasri IS in the squad for tomorrow….

Wenger says AFC contacted UEFA to claify what he could and couldn’t do on Tuesday and he complied with every rule they were told….

Asked about players coming in, he just grinned and talked about those who have been signed.

Then, when asked if he could buy one player, where would that player be for – He replied,

We are short in midfield and also i defnce….

He didn’t answer when asked if he was near to signing anyone…. He did add they are looking for ‘quality players’

    Interesting eh….

  73. K-TR7 says:

Wenger still looking to add quality…classic.the king of spin is doing it again.he is raising the hopes of fans that will be dashed when the window closes.Wenger is a liar and i’ll never again believe a word he says.

  74. rico says:

    Hi Savage,

I’m looking forward to seeing us play, i always do, just very concerned with the amount of players we have missing…

If we can get a result against them, it would be something special…

  75. oliver says:

‘morning all…we’re awaiting confirmation of another first team player’s departure, further confirmation of just how depleted our squad will be for tomorrow’s home league opener, and arsene is back in the dock…not that much to inspire confidence at the moment…

  76. Savage says:

I think sometimes you have to just step back and be a simple football fan, just enjoy watching the team. You have to enjoy the simple moments, get past the downs and move on. As things stand, the depression can just kill you off, and honestly, it’s not worth it. I’m just going to change my attitude, relax, and enjoy the game and enjoy being a supporter of my club.

  77. rico says:

Johan Djourou is OUT of the squad for tomorrow, so is Rosicky…

Jeez, when will our fortunes change……

  78. oliver says:

arsene also said – when asked if he would actually select nas – quote “not at all, because i don’t question his committment to the club” say what??????

  79. Savage says:

Take that Walcott goal against Udinese – a thing of beauty. Watch the run of Walcott pointing to where he wants it, watch Ramsey waiting for the moment, the pinpoint cross, the clinical tap-in, the defenders looking around at each other, the team running off and celebrating, the fans clapping and waving their hands … when you spend all your emotion studying finances, waiting for signings, arguing with fans … you miss the simple beauty of the basics. A goal for the Arsenal!

  80. rico says:

Kt, did you see his i/v? He could be truthing, he certainly wasn’t at all defensive.. (excuse the pun)

  81. goonster says:

SYG you re a legend…..no matter what team lines out tomorrow I can’t wait to support the arsenal……..COYR

  82. rico says:

morning oliver, wenger reckons the nasri sale is far from being concluded and i raised an eyebrow when he mentioned nasris committment…

i guess he could only mean about keeping fit…..

Re the UEFA charge, he will appeal if he gets a further ban, he’s made that clear…

He says the club were told he could communicate via a 3rd person

  83. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

    Hiya Sav.
we’re not swamped with problems, mate.

Just look below us if you want to see problems. Everton, Villa, Fulham, Wolves, WBA etc

It’s just that we see Man City and Chelsea buying Top Rank players and Man Utd procuring eruditely by stealth, as we consider ourselves top 4 – We are – we’ve been top 4 for years – we’ve been top 18 for nearly 100 years – possibly averaging top 6 to 8 over the 90-odd year period (in fact that would be a decent average to work out) whilst the alleged top 3 have yo-yo’d between divisions.

Make no mistake we would have been top 2 bar the injuries and a few players with a bit more guts…

Our problems are nothing that can’t be rectified.

But these problems won’t be solved by:
    a) buying kids
    b) relying on African players
    c) panic purchases
    or d) Doing nothing

  84. K-TR7 says:

Wenger is a liar rico.yesterday i read we were interested in a 16 year old dubbed ‘the next alexis sanchez’.wenger won’t buy an experienced first teamer rico.he is hell bent on proving us wrong with ryo/oxo.i don’t believe a word he says.watching him speak is like a therapy session with all the ‘character’ and ‘mental strength’ talk.he always tells us what we want to hear.he even plays mind games with us…

  85. oliver says:

we are desperately short of fit/available players in midfield, so if arsene has to name nas to the squad – even start – while the latter is working on his exit, so be it. our situation effectively forces this.

but please don’t tell us the player is committed to the club…everybody and his dog knows nas wants out.

we complain about how the media and some fans pile on arsene…he doesn’t help himself with commments like the above…not at all.

  86. rico says:

Spot On again SYG, we can rectify our frailties, we have the finances to do it – there are plenty of sides in a worse state….

    But I don’t care about them 😉 😉

  87. rico says:

Kt, don’t read and believe, in fact until .com announce anything, don’t believe anything 😉

however, SS’s still reckon we are in talks for Dann 🙂

  88. rico says:

    Exactly oliver,

Nasri may be committed to keeping himself fit and he is fit but why did he not feature against Udinese??

We all know that is because his plans are to play for Citeh in the Champions League, something he wouldn’t be able to do if he played on Tuesday…

Comitted to our club – not in one bit!

  89. ArsenalDK says:

    good afternoon everyone!

We have Song, Gervinho suspended. Diaby and Wilshere are injured. Djourou and Traore will not be available and Gibbs is also not available. Rosicky also out. Do we have a chance of winning tomorrow? I have cancelled a lot of things, so that i can watch the game..

  90. South Yorkshire Gunner says:

    Hiya K-TR7

Don’t take it to heart – Wenger’s dropped bollocks – In life we all do.
The problem with Wenger is that he is more stubborn than most to admit up to the fact.

The majority of bloggers know what the problem has been. If THEY know then Wenger knows. He isn’t stupid – just stubborn.

Whilst we have had great players; we’ve also had good players; and unfortunately, distinctly average if not mediocre players.

Replace the latter with good and/or great players and the jobs a good ‘un. It’s not major surgery or rocket science- its just a case of dumping the shite and buying in better. It’s certainly not as hard as he – Wenger makes out.

This pre-season he now looks to be doing the former but not the latter.

Selling Eboue was in my eyes – a statement.
Getting shut of Almunia would be another.

To carry on that statement he needs to replace the dross – but not with dross.

All it would take is 4 decent signings, and although we have already signed 4 – Neither of those 4 are what the real Arsenal fan wants.

  91. ArsenalDK says:

goonster, iv’e just read that at arsenal.com??

    no rico i cannot! 😉

But it doesn’t matter, i’m gonna watch my team, even if we put out our U/18 squad! 🙂

    COYG

  92. rico says:

goonster, JD, Traore and Rosicky have all been ruled out by AW….

Nor do I Kt, and nor I expect does Wenger, the same man who said he expected no players to leave this summer 🙄

  93. rico says:

😆 ADK, you an me both, it’s our club and come KO, I’ll be shouting at the television regardless of who plays in red and white….

  94. ArsenalDK says:

hear hear rico.. Luckily my neighbor is a 78 year old lady, who is also hearing impaired, so i can shout all I want, without getting complaints 😀

  95. goonster says:

Wow so it means we might be starting with a mid field of frimpong ramsey and lansbury…..God help us all.

  96. arsenal fan says:

    our line up could be
    scezeny
    sagna verm kos jenkinson
    frimp ramsey
    walcot arsh ryo/oxo/nasri?
    rvp

  97. K-TR7 says:

Expect to see squid and kos at CB tomorrow,lans/rambo/frimpong in midfield…if pool don’t thrash that side tomorrow something must be seriously wrong with their team.

  98. arsenal fan says:

seen the pics of the training…..
nasri is there and so is traore means he is fit
    will he play leftback?

  99. rico says:

I take back all I have said about Wenger being loyal to Arsenal…

    He has said this:

‘One day I will tell you all what I have turned down to stay with Arsenal – You can all question my decisions, but my loaylty to Arsenal, No!’

    There you have it…

Now let’s question his decisions 😉

  100. arsenal fan says:

guys i have a feeling.nasri could play the last time for us…
coz it is our 1st home pl game and nasri has to start……
AW must have told him you have to play this game and then you can leave….he wont play for us in the away leg against udinese for sure..

  101. K-TR7 says:

The only viable option tomorrow is playing a 4-4-1-1 with rvp/AA uptop.play theo wide right and oxo/ryo left.let AA/Theo take turns uptop with rvp.

  102. arsenal fan says:

wenger will play 4-2-3-1 or max 4-3-3 he has never changed his formation maybe…chamakh will play and rvp in fabregas role…….
    frimpong ramsey
    walcott rvp arsh
    chamakh

  103. arsenal fan says:

arsenal have confirmed the signing of joel campbell…
but will he help us to win a trophy i dont think so….

  104. Savage says:

I couldn’t figure out from the Campbell statement whether he’s cleared to play for us visa-wise … I guess Young Guns will clear it up for us.

  105. Lee says:

“If you look at the players we have brought in, you’ll notice we have brought top quality players in. Jenkinson, Gervino, Miyaichi, Chamberlain, you will soon see they are all top quality players. We haven’t lost so many players. We have lost some big players but numbers wise we should be capable to do well.

“If we find quality we will add it to our squad. We work very hard on it, I must tell you. We want to add top quality to our squad, that’s all we want to do. At the moment I feel we are a bit short in midfield. We are bit short at the back as well, maybe”

  106. Will says:

    Been to the gym Rico.

People, one thing to remember. Football is a game, entertainment, nothing more, nothing less.

  107. rico says:

    That’s what i meant Will, that’s bad for you…. 😉

Not for me it’s not, Arsenal is much much more than just a game…..

  108. Savage says:

Afobe has his work cut out.

The kids just aren’t making it – Sunu, Watt, JET, Murphy, Deacon, the Dutch prank kid, Vela, Aliadiere.

  109. rico says:

Adam, me too – he looks happy, confident and pretty stress free…

You reckon he has something up his sleeve??

  110. Greg says:

One thing that people forget to mention when they count the cost of transfers, is player’s wages. Liam Brady said on RTE in Ireland that one reason that Arsenal didn’t make big-name signings, is because the board were reluctant to approve very high wages for any single player. I think, then, that while we can afford to buy good players, up to a certain limit, we probably can’t afford to pay them all £100,000+ every week – more than £5m per year. Very few clubs can pay their players that kind of silly money.

It would explain why Wenger tends to go for younger players of promise, rather than the finished article, who tend to command both stupid fees and stupid wages. It’s a gamble and it hasn’t really worked out – although he has come far closer than most people like to give him credit for – but he may not have had much choice.

I too have been very frustrated by our inaction in the transfer market and our failure to bolster the weaker areas of the squad. However, I get the feeling that money for players has been far more limited than the board and management have let on. Presumably they reckon the club is in a stronger position if it gives the impression that we have more money to invest than is actually the case. I can kind of understand that, but from a fan’s point of view, it’s maddening, because we are waiting for the signings that will solve our problems, and they never come.

If this is the case, then Wenger is getting unfairly attacked on all sides, since his hands have been tied. Not that Wenger has ever been the type to blow ridiculous sums on one player, but I’d be very surprised if he didn’t wish he had more flexibility when trying to add to the squad and make it more competitive. He’s come so close, it must be heartbreaking for him to see the whole thing fall apart – as it has been for all of us.

If we are limited financially, the board is letting the manager take the flak for the club’s shortcomings. Now morale is at its lowest since I can remember, and the atmosphere is in danger of becoming poisonous.

I just wish that someone would come forward and be frank about what the fuck is going on. If we don’t have the money, fair enough, I can live with that, and I’d expect most of the rest of the fans can too. It makes it easier to remain enthusiastic about our youth policy. If we do have money, we really need to invest it in the squad, because there isn’t much depth, and we are in serious danger of falling away.

  111. Merlin96 says:

Look, when Dein was around, all Wenger got to do is to tell him the “target” and Dein did teh rest to close the deal.

    Gazidis?
Is he that p.rick that can’t close the deal with any players that Wenger had identified, including Samba, Cahil, Jagielka, Alavez and Mata?

Just pay a few millions over-the-odds to get the players you must have to strengthen the squad.

Like last seaosn, bargianing over Schwarzer over ONE MILLION difference?
In hindsight, imagine how Achwazer will perform in lieu of that nrevous Spanish waiter we had between the sticks?

ANybody got any real insider track info as to who is responsible to close out any player transfer dealings? Gazidis or Wenger?

  112. Savage says:

Don’t be so sure that we were in for all the targets they say. And don’t even be sure you’ve heard the figures correctly either.

What I’d say is pretty certain is that our offer wasn’t anywhere near the supposed 29m Chelsea offered for Mata.

Even now, top level newspapers are reporting very different figures for Nasri to City.

  113. Merlin96 says:

Yeah, but who is calling the shots in all these transfer saga?

Is it Stan with his proxy in Gazidis over-ruling Wenger?

  114. rico says:

Maybe Adam, whatever it is, i hope he stays focussed…

Hi Merlin, i’m not sure who does all the deals, it should eb gazidis, that’s his job but since DD left, AW seems to like to have his fingers in all pies…

he should have made a list and say ‘ Go get tehse please Ivan’

    Simples 🙂

  115. rico says:

Savage, it didn’t need to be for Mata back then, he was for sale at half the price, since then his get out clause fee has been activated…

  116. Merlin96 says:

Rico, perhaps Wenger has never any intention to buy Mata, just a smoke screen to divert attention over those intensive negotiations going on over Cesc.

Suspect Wenger has other actual targets..perhaps Hazard or even Joe Cole on the cheap..lol.

Wenger is going to build his 4th team around Wilshere, Rasmey, Oxalde-chamberlain and Ryo….and with Aneke, Embillico, Toral, Bellerin, Galindo, Wellington, et al waiting in the wings, he is not going to spend 18-mil for Mata.

Did you ever ehard of Wenger admitting he is negotiating to bring Mata to Emirates?

  117. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all,
Thank you rico , for taking the stick.
Just been looking at a lot of your comments, you know what, there is hardly a positive comment among you, i can remember the end of last season and you were calling for at least two good signings Wengers made four and you still want four more unbelievable, you also asked for the deadwood to be cleared out and the main ones you asked for has been moved out, or have not been included, You winge about Fabregas going and Nasri too, but after Nasri’s quick five minutes and a hamstring problem he was a wanker, Fabregas was dire last season i loved the man but he was dire you all said he was finnished and we had seen the best of him, now he’s gone and Nas almost and now your saying they were top quality. i have come to the conclusion that you lot will never be pleased untill you get Wenger sacked and if and when that happen’s you will be the losers believe me

  118. goonster says:

Yep I was…..slept in my car with the engine running got to work late this morning and got an earful from me boss.

  119. arsenal fan says:

guys reports that we have failed in a bid for lucho gonzales…..
    how can that happen…..
does it mean we couldnt match the asking price or we couldnt even submit a bid of any amount
    can anyone please explain…..

  120. goonster says:

Saw the same story AF….if it turns out to be true then questions should be asked about the ambition of the club.

  121. allezkev says:

    Yeah, just read about it….
KT, if your about, what’s your opinion on Gonzales???
IS he worth buying, or was a proposed loan deal the best thing for AFC..?

  122. goonster says:

The daily fail is running the story Kev…..can’t find the link now but like AF I saw the same story. The question is what are we doing chasing a player like lucho gonzalez…he’s had his best years in porto and a spent force we need better.

  123. arsenal fan says:

actually i liked lucho gonzales 2-3 years back…..when he was with marsellei dont know how he played with benfica though…..at marsellei he was quite good i think scored goals..could score from long range…but now i dont know if he is good enough…..

  124. goonster says:

He played for porto AF not benfica…..he lisandro and quaresma were the stars of that porto side. He had a great first year with marseille but he’s gone downhill ever since.

  125. arsenal fan says:

    goodnight guys…..
    we will win…….
i have a gut feeling that somehow we will get a late goal and seal the game off and it will as always release some pressure from AW…it always happens like that…..
    1-0 to the arsenal
    keep the faith…

  126. goonster says:

Will my man we definitely will…..once the team comes out of that tunnel all misgivings will be thrown away and we ll totally support the team. Don’t worry buddy you ve got my backing on that one.

  127. Will says:

I have noticed a more dogged determination from this team. They seem to fight harder, run more and block more than last season.

A more us against the world attitude from the players.

  128. ArsenalDK says:

to tell you the truth goonster, i would take oxo any day over nasri. Even though nasri has more skill right now, oxo will probably give his all and that is all i’m asking for.. even though he’s young and inexperienced, i think he’ll be a very valuable player this year…

  129. goonster says:

I saw him a few times for southampton. He’s stronger and more technical than walcott with a eye for goal. He’s tough and hardly gets bullied. Am not saying he’s better than nashit but he ll give more to the cause than nasri denilson and diaby put together and best of all he’s ENGLISH.

  130. goonster says:

Glad to help DK…..but it still irks me that we were blown away by marseille for Lucho Gonzalez its such a slap in the face.

  131. goonster says:

Its undisclosed DK…..its saddens me that we now shop for average players and dregs of the football world. And we can’t even get them.

  132. ArsenalDK says:

remember the days when we were feared goonster? I miss those days, now we can’t even buy lucho gonzales.. Wenger has messed up big time. How can he say that he will buy if he sees quality? Is Cahill not quality? is Samba not? Is Mata not? is M’vila not? I’m so depressed…

  133. rico says:

Guys – we only wanted him on loan, he’s 30 years old and Wenger didn’t want to buy him – he just wanted him for a season….

  134. goonster says:

Tell me about it DK..we used to terrorize teams right from the tunnels. Remember the stern look paddy V gave opposing teams….I missed the duel between Viera and keane…those were the days DK….ahhhhh that just brought tears to my eyes.

  135. goonster says:

Yeah but what does that say about our club’s ambition. We just sold our captain who is the best player in his position in the world. Yet we re not replacing him. Instead we are looking for bargains and cheap quick fixes.

  136. rico says:

goonster, we don’t know if AW is looking – he said today we are short in midfield and defence, thats before Nasri departs….

    I just hope he is….

  137. rico says:

    goonster –

we all hoped that early buisness was AW’s way but it’s not been so – maybe players he wants are waiting to see if we qualify for the CL? I would if I was a top player..

Also, how many times do we say when we are linked with players who are also linked to spurs or liverpool? we say, ‘but we can offer them CL football’?

Added to that, maybe we didn’t have the cash ready to spend but soon we will have, suggestion is that Barca have relesaed funds now for the cesc sale…

I honestly think that Scott Dann is on his way to us very soon, unless KK pips us to him…

  138. goonster says:

It baffles me that we are still haggling over a few thousand while our opponents are busy getting stronger..we are about to lose another influential player in nashit. We are starring elimination in the face and we face two of the biggest clubs in Britain with a team of toddlers. How did we get into this.

  139. goonster says:

Well that’s it Rico. Should we really be after scott Dann. When we have players like subotic and hummelss available.

  140. rico says:

goonster – if you are talking about the 30 year old, we are not haggling, we wanted a loan, that’s it – no sale…

as for the rest, is all that is said in the press true??

did we really make an offer for Mata or Ricky? I’m not so sure now…

Its all press talk and i won’t fall for it…

Re Dann, why not? He is just what we need – no nonsense, english and he’s PL ready – he’s pretty good…

He’s good enough, to begin with and then see what happens IF we get into the CL KO stage….

  141. rico says:

Skysports.com understands that Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Peruvian starlet Andy Polo.

The 16-year-old forward is currently playing for Universitario de Deportes in his homeland, but he is already in the first-team.

A host of clubs have been alerted to his talents, but Arsenal – who have just secured the signing of Costa Rican Joel Campbell – are ready to win the race to land Polo.

Udinese and Valencia are both reported to be keen on the youngster, who is nicknamed La Joya (the Jewel) and is touted as the new Alexis Sanchez.

Universitario confirmed: “We are open to negotiate but on concrete conditions.

“Andy is a pearl and we will not miss out.”

  142. allezkev says:

Thought the cricket team did great again today Rico…
Rack up about 600+ then go for the follow-on i reckon….

  143. rico says:

They need to be fast though kev, only three days left… i’d decalre at 500 if it was down to me 😉

I miss my playing days 🙁

  144. allezkev says:

Yeah, maybe, split the difference at 550 then… 😀
India haven’t got over 300 yet and are totally demoralised…
Anderson mustn’t hang about, we need Bopara and morgan to speed things up…
I’d love to see Bell push on for 300.
I was useless, No.11 batsmen etc, but i loved it.
Used to get a game [of sorts] in the Post Office League.
    Very civilised…..

  145. allezkev says:

Stan, the Academy is only doing it’s job mate.
All clubs do it, AFC are just the best at it.
But the Press hype-up our youth signings as part of their ongoing anti-Arsenal, anti-Wenger campaign.

  146. rico says:

Anderson just needs to swing his bat from the off, i’m sure he will, he’ll prob get a quick 50 😉

Bell has really found his form, he deserves a hig score biut, i think when he goes, they will declare – just as you say, india cannot score many runs and the ball on this dry old wicket is soon to turn, go get them Swanny 🙂

No 11, so you bowled then Kev??

No 5 or 6 me, no style, all bosh but could swing the little red Malik 😉

  147. rico says:

    i knew you’d like that story goonster….. 😉

have to admit, don’t understand why we need so many, especially at that age, how many do we have now??

anyone know whats happening with the two kids we bought from barca??

    reserves, loan or first team??

  148. allezkev says:

    No Rico, i was a No.11 bowler… 😆
But i was unbeatable at long-on, long-leg and in the covers.. 😀

  149. rico says:

Thats what i mean, no 11 bat, opening bowler surely 😉

I was sqaure, slip, point, mid off and on – jeez, we had a crap captain, she didn’t really know what she was doing 😆 😆

  150. rico says:

Right folks, my pillow is calling me so i’m offski for the day…

SP, thankyou for todays post, have a re-read, many many positive comments today as well as a few not so…

You all be safe and catch up tomorrow…

Night Kev, goonster and all 😛

    Sleep tight

  151. goonster says:

That is the question will….we just signed one kid. He might end up not playing for us this season yet we are already on a trail of another kid. What happened to afobe sunu aneke etc. Enough kids already arsene sort out the first team dammit…sheesh he’s so obsessed with kids.
