Arsenal Confirm Sale!! Ready to bid for Two Germans, One Pole and a Welshman?

Morning all,

Happy Easter Monday, hope you are not all feeling nauseous after consuming too much chocolate…..

It’s also April Fools Day, hence the headline which does actually have an element of truth to it as the big sale is already on here

Gossip day today.

The newspapers have gone into overdrive over the weekend and I have to be honest, I kind of wish they’d finally turn out to get something right.

The first is a triple swoop on the German league.

Arsenal plan £70m Bundesliga raid for Mario Goetze, Lars Bender and Robert Lewandowski were the weekend headlines…..

Not only are we about to hit the German league, we are ready to go back to the Championship and make an offer for Crystal Palace’s young Welsh ­star Jonathan Williams.    

Mario Goetze  – an attacking midfielder who can play left or right wing. He’s still only 20 years old and I know a few fans who would love to see him in red and white.

Lars Bender –  he’s known to be a great tackler, a great passer of the ball who has a fantastic eye for a pass and great anticipation. Remind you of someone French we once had a few years back? He’s just 23 years old…

Robert Lewandowski – Striker, with slightly better than a goal every other game ratio for his current club. He’s not German though, he Polish but he’s good. Very good and we won’t be the only side interested in signing him, if indeed we are of course.

If we signed those three above, I’d cope with us signing Jonathan Williams from Crystal Palace, wouldn’t you?

But I don’t think that story would hold any truth to it. Williams is just 19 years old, he’s an attacking midfielder who can play wide and we have that kind of player at his kind of age in abundance don’t we?

Yes, maybe I should have said the same about Goetze, but he’s a German International, and he’s good. Very good!

I doubt Arsene Wenger or Stan Kroenke would be so adventurous/ambitious in a transfer window but never say never, after all, this is the summer it’s all meant to change… (Cough)

Before then though, we have the last few fixtures to contend with and Arsene Wenger is demanding that the team focuses on delivering consistency and quality during the run-in.

We have the experience, we have done it before and is what we want to do again, I am sure we will, but it demands a lot of dedication and nerves until the end.

But let’s just take care of the way we play, take care of our spirit and give it our all.

The club are really pumping up this race to the top four aren’t they, even Giroud has joined in saying that ‘we are used to finishing well’, jeepers, the guy has not been involved in this before in an Arsenal shirt.

Finishing top four really seems to matter to Arsene Wenger and the rest of the board doesn’t it?

Anyone would think there was a trophy for it…….

    I just read that Nasri has scored one more goal than Chamakh this season which means not very many at all. It’s just the papers shit stirring. The usual stuff I think. Arseblog has an excellent take on the whole deal. We can blame the Syrup for many things but, for me, he gets a pass on this one.

    Wath, i very, very rarely watch anyone else play, but 10.25 pm kick off with nothing else on made it bearable….just.
    I missed the goal Rico.
    On Cechs saves, what did you think about the shot i mentioned, Rico?
    It was a clean strike and just swerved both ways, but the ball had no spin on it.
    They are just crap.
    Cech was lucky he was moving to his left and stuck his leg back to the right.
    The movement that really troubles the keeper is a shot straight at him that suddenly moves away from him late.
    What year is this again?
    Can’t they get a ball that flies true?

    emma – there was a time when Samba reminded me of Sol. I kind of agree with Wath, we missed the right time to buy, and that was when he was ready to move from B’burn…

    But that ship has long sailed and there are better players out there…

    rico – No way he would have being an arsenal player. He can fit into teams like Stoke or any team coached by allardyce. He is a player that cannot bring the ball out of the defence but just clear or balloon the ball when it gets to the 18yard

    Samba is having a mare. £100k a week. Arry knows how to waste triffic money. So sad for Fernandez who had to cough out money for this bunch of players. QPR will go into administration. Damage has already being done by Mark Hughes only to be compounded by Mr. triffick Harry

    I won’t watch anyone else Scott……….. Very blinkered I know but am at the stage where I could not give a 4 X for anyone else only thing that bothers me is Arsenal…! More games for the Chavs could help us long as they don’t end up winning it.

    Out of interest, did anyone notice Chicharitos shot at around the 40 minute mark??

    Agag, just the thought of that arriving from that most benevolent nice guy Wath, has lifted my spirits no end, i will still shout for the boys even though they have that touch of blue, till the very last kick of the season, top 4 or not will never make my support weaken, i know we can come back i know we will win things about as sure as i am of that ten cases arriving. 🙂

    SSP, I think we are all pretty depressed about it. Out of all competitions so early into the second half of the season. 🙁 Some GG will cheer you up, I think. Lots will dull the pain. WATH has sent you a crate, I believe. 😀

    Hiya Agag, Yes your right ever since we got dumped out of the last contest i have been a bit down i must admit. 8 years has had its toll but as soon as these last few games are over, we go back to square one again and were back in the mix. Although a lifetime supporter of the men in London red and white and a touch of blue, “i ask you blue where the hell did that come from.     Agreed Potter same with those divs that boo a player… For me you never boo anyone in the shirt… slag them off after or in the pub or on a blog as you have the right as a paying punter but never when they on the pitch if does no good what so ever but then many will say how else do you get your point across to the powers that be and that is also quite a valid point.     Nice post Rico, you mention the top 4 and you say that the Arsenal manager and the board may see this as a trophy, well in their eyes it is £30 million is the prize at stake, win that and we may not have to sell our best players whoever that may be. I laugh, we have just gone through a transfer window and came out with an unheard of left back, and now were being linked with 3 players that we can’t afford. Pie in the sky with this lot we have in charge. As an Arsenal supporter i have resigned myself to watching other teams play semi finals and finals, Knowing full well that my own team are far from producing the quality needed to win enough games to reach a final. Our defence leaks goals in nearly every game our midfield can pass to the other side all day long and our forwards need 10 chances to score one goal, We are a long way off winning anything and top 4 is not a trophy its a failure.

    In the second half he was ok Rico. The first half was an object lesson in sideways football.
    Great news that a self confessed fascist, fond of giving fist-clenched Nazi salutes, has become manager of Sunderland.
    Really moves the spirit of the game onto a new level I think. So, my suggestion for Mugabe as our new manager wasn’t so wide of the mark. Pity Joe Stalin isn’t around any more really.

    I am really looking forward to signing those players. Once you add Cavani and Falcao we should be better next season. Imagine Gervinho picks the ball up deep within his own half, plays a one-two with Ramsey wide on the left before knocking it to Hans German. He beats another 4 players with consummate ease then crosses it for a flying header from Lewandowski who has already scored 16 goals in his first 2 matches.
    I can’t wait.
