I’m really starting to feel sorry for our captain and I mean that with sincerity.
Whilst the boys were facing Fulham in our last game of the season, Cesc Fabregas was in Spain, watching the Grand Prix. I thought that was slightly naughty, not the fact that he was where he was but for me he should have been with the squad at Craven Cottage and I only say that because it was our last game, the away fans deserved his presence, as did the team he leads.
He got a bit of a battering for that in the blog world but to be fair, he must have been given ‘permission to leave’ – some have even suggested that it’s all a game because no matter how many links he gets to Barcelona, he’s staying put for another season.
Who knows, I certainly don’t.
Next up relates to his trip to America, a vacation in which he’s joined by another fans favourite, Robin van Persie.
So, picture the scene – both of the boys are ‘in the zone’, having a fun time at New York Mets baseball game at the Citi Field stadium.
A Mets fan there is also clearly a bit of a Cesc fan and the next thing we see in the media is Cesc wearing a Mets shirt and cap donned on his head – backwards no less!!
Next thing, all the papers report:
‘Cesc captured in another kit’
‘Cesc caught wearing another clubs shirt’
What a sinner Cesc is, eh??
Garbage, he’s in closed season, he can do what he wants and with who he wants now can’t he?
Anyway, already the newspapers have torn into him about his trip but there’s just one more bit they feel they need to add…
You and I know already what that is, don’t we?
Robin van Persie only asked Cesc Fabregas to travel to the Big Apple with him and his wife for one reason and that is because Robin fears he won’t be at Arsenal next season….
What utter poppycock!!
Like I say, I feel sorry for Cesc Fabregas right now, no matter what he does over the summer, no matter where he goes or who with, the Newspapers will twist it to sell a paper.
And right now in the world of football, they all want to be the first to report that Cesc Fabregas has left Arsenal for Barcelona…
Well, just maybe they will all need to wait a few more years to grab their headline…
At 42 years old, I now ignore what is being said in the papers. I suggest others do the same.
Morning Will and all…
I feel sorry for him – can’t do anything can he…
Morning folks….red-top shite!
As Will, rightly said ignore the garbage from papers….
Morning Lee, it sure is….
i wonder what is behind the holiday in the States, jsut a holiday, or one paid for by Stan as part of our ‘promoting arsenal’ campaign 😉
It was a joke. Relax idiot.
My heart bleeds for him. Perhaps we can start a petition. There again if that’s the worse press he ever gets in his whole life he wont have done that badly. Of course he could clear it all up by giving a press conference and stating his allegiance to Arsenal, but pigs are more likely to fly.
Um, feel I have to point out that he’s not wearing a Mets Soccer kit. Think they play rounders.
NEXT HEADLINE:
CESC IN LOVE WITH SHAKIRA
i’M SURE IT’S A PROMOTIONAL THING.Also, robin and cesc are true pals, played with thierry and co,won the fa cup together in 05 so no surprise there really.
Thanks Alan, your village are calling….
Thanks Dom, the word soccer was in error…
Now, now Rico….all we need now is john (prick from surrey) hahaha 😉
If it was a promotional thing the rest of the squad have every right to be reeling.
shock horror paper uses bogus headline to get reads/hits. good job bloggers dont do that eh.
it is a bollox story though. we can expect a lot more
Morning all,
I wish somebody would pay me £110,000 a week, they could write anything about me that they wanted, i’de even change my name to Sep if they wanted happy days
Morning all and a jolly big “Hear, hear” to the post.
Long gone are the days where red tops report anything even remotely resembling the truth, it’s 99% synthesized bo***cks to corroborate any tenuous “angle” they want to give to a story.
As the post says, whether Cesc goes or not, anything and everything will be used by the gutter pres to pat themselves on the back with evidence that proves their lazy, hypocritical, retarded views are correct.
I remember being at Members day last August after the annual summer of “Cesc to Barca” stories had just about finished ands when Cesc led the tema onot the pitch he was given a rousing welcome back.
And guess what ? The Daily (Hate) Mail reported “Fabregas was given a muted reception” – and all that after Rico’s bet had made another blogger homeless.
Shame on you girl !!! 😉
Hi guys just come on…
Ditto Steve, I think i could handle that 😉
Chary, i haven’t made anyone homeless … 😉
We as Arsenal fans should expect this.
We had Adams to Man Utd
Vieira to anyone
Henry to leave
And now Cesc.
I think I can say with 100% certainty, the English press do not like Arsenal and like to stir it for us. Maybe Wenger should do a Demento and rant at journo’s and ban them from press conferences.
They hate us and just seem to love reporting doom and gloom arsenal..
hopefully wengers signings will prevent that from being the case next season…
I forget Rico, all the bloggers here have a portfolio of properties! It’s just the oiks like me who have just the one place. 🙂
I wish Wenger would give our hacks the middle finger salute at times, it hasn;t done the purple-nosed old jocko alchy any harm.
Exactly Chary. He bans them and they dare not write crap about him and his players. Wenger is a gentleman and gets walked on.
I’m the same chary, just the one and it does me just nicely 😉
I wish he would too but then that would give them another negative story to tell….
Morning peoples!
Just breezing through today. It seems Cesc can do no right right now and wherever he is capture will be further proof that he will be leaving Arsenal….even if he’s found in a Tapas Bar in Croydon, it will be deemed as a sign of things to come!!
We’ll they (media) can all go suck on a lemon for all I care!
Howdy Chary1966, still blog regularly at Le-Grove?
Hi T-buzz, how’s the little one doing?
Lee, re your 9.48 😆
Hi T-buzz, well not so much at le grove nowadays but I also flit from blog to blog, I’m at “Arsenal Arsenal” and “7am kickoff” from time to time as well as here whenever I can see an opening to wind Rico up with.
Will/Rico think our manager is in a similar situation to Cesc with whatever he does will be twisted to prove he is either “losing the plot” or demented. I suppose he’d be better off giving bland non-answers to questions rather than being honest and open.
Wenger can at least adopt the fergie-scum tactic of sending out his number two to talk to the media outlets he hasn’t banned whenever ManUre lose. Of course doing that exposes fergie scum as the cowardly bully that he is, but the press are so busy “kissing his ass” they don’t see it.
These days though chary, he’s looking more like the demented 😉
One way to shut the press up, and we know what that is. We support a team that we love can’t expect everybody to feel the same, we chose the right road and they got lost along the way. Get the team right this season and things can change over night, if not, i still love em
It’s old age Rico my sweet, it happens to all of us sadly, except your good self I’d wager.
Mind you, our traditional end of season collapse was so calamitous this year it’s enough to send anyone into dementia !
Morning Gooners. Top top post Rico. I hardly ever buy a newspaper anymore, they’re full of yesterdays news and lies, so thanks to the web i get my daily AFC fix on-line.
Gotta say i’m more optimistic about Cesc staying than i was a couple of months ago.
Newspapers are now redundant, as the electronic media and rolling news stations always get the “news ” out first , they are reduced to selling opinions and made up stories.
Best to ignore them.
Hola AK, how’s you mate? Caught your DB10 banter from last night… a magician!!
Hey Lee mio amigo, how ya been? Yeah, now DB10 was a real player. The kind i used to think i’d never see in an Arsenal shirt. Fortunately we had a fan, a proper fan, on the Board in David Dein at the time. Now he’s no longer there we can see the results mate…
Steve, that is the only way to shut them up for a while but they’d only be back the season if we didn’t win back to back PL Titles 😉
Chary, i can vouch for the old age thing too, having put knives and forks in the fridge often 😉
Morning kev and potter
thanks re the post kev, my thought is what will be will be and there’s no point in worrying about it – however, new signings, that is something to worry about 🙂
All ok Kev…waiting with baited breath for our earth-shattering signings….linked with every fcker in the world as per!!
Hi Rico, yeah, every day i get up and think “new signings” and start to worry….
Lee, Jenkinson mate, you missed it, lol
And the two kids from barca, we can’t forget those season changing players ….
Oh yeah Rico, Jon Toral Harper and Hector Bellerin….i’m all a quiver…
Actually, from what i’ve read, we do have a great group of 16/17 yr olds, but it’s the same old ‘jam tomorrow’ rubbish.
I’m surprised there aren’t any stories about him wanting to now join the the NY Red Bulls because of of his trip to watch them and Henry play. The press just likes to stir things up because they sell more papers and make more of a profit that way. They are turning into tabloids and gossip papers.
no sooner are we culling the youth though wenger is re-stocking his cupboard 😉
i worry about the ‘jam tomorrow’ – can’t wait for this bleedin window to open kev…
aha i think the newspapers were taking the piss Rico, i think they realise that the New York Mets are a baseball team
It’s the bit about what they assume RvP knows that does me goonersef… still, i guess they got nowt batter to write about ….
hi caffienenut – he’s too young to be retiring out there 😉
Off for a bit, Fido needs a run 🙂
Laters…
Mornig gunners !
I’m going to read interesting news
Hi JM,
You won’t find any 😉
U beat me to it Rico was just going to say to JM nothing interesting at all just rubbish and drivel….!
Tell you what is funny….three page 3 girls dressed as $100 bills handing out brown envelopes to delegates at FIFA HQ….
Hi WATH,
It is just so boring isn’t it 🙁
Blimey Lee, that could have finished Old Sepp off 😉
GOOD!
I just had that feeling that might be the reply 😆
Samba has told SS he is looking forward to next season at Blackburn – he is such a little fibber 😉
If he stays at BB your gonna be so peeved eh Rico….
Yep WATH …..
I have no idea how Fifa could let Bladder stand unopposed in that leadership farce.
Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has launched an incredible tirade against Spain and Chelsea players, telling them to stop ‘bitching’ at officials and get on with playing football.
Van Persie claims he ‘cannot understand’ the behaviour of players who constantly put the referee under pressure and was scathing of Barcelona following their actions in the Champions League last-16 clash with the Gunners. However, he has now extended his ire towards the world champions and also London rivals Chelsea.
“They [Spain players] always go up to referees in an attempt to get an opponent booked. They are trying to screw colleagues! That kind of behaviour really annoys me,” Van Persie told Sport 1.
“People who are watching the game on television and fans really do not want to see these kind of things. If you want to witness a lot of complaints, you should just go the bakery or something. There’s always people nagging there as well.
“Chelsea players are always bitching against the referees. I really cannot understand that. Just shut the f*** up and focus on playing football.”
The Dutchman’s comments, though, do take a different line from that of team-mate Jack Wilshere who claimed on Wednesday: “It’s no use just Robin van Persie going because it looks like it’s just him having a go at the ref. If we all get round him…” suggesting that Arsenal need to toughen up and impose themselves on officials.
Meanwhile, Nicklas Bendtner has confirmed his desire to leave the club.
“I have decided 100% that I must leave Arsenal,” he told sporten.dk. “I’ve considered this for a long time and was quite clear when I arrived at my decision.
“It doesn’t feel particularly strange to not know what my future holds – I’m quite calm and confident that I’ll be fine at a new club.
“I’m fully focused on Saturday’s game for now, because it is incredibly important, but after the international is over I may focus more directly on my future [but] I am sure I could easily go on holiday without having to panic about it. I’m looking to relax, mentally, after a season that was not what I hoped for or expected.”
Nor can I Will, a farce indeed..
Interesting from RvP, and just after Jack said we should hound them more….
Looking forward to seeing Jack and Theo up against Djourou and Senderos on Saturday….
Yeah I am Rico.
I have a lot of time for Robin.
I do too Will, and I think he thinks a lot of Arsenal too…
Yeah, he is the new Arsenal man.
To animate. Some news:
a) AC Milan will concentrate its efforts on hiring of Didier Drogba, Emmanuel Adebayor having as an alternative if you can not take the Chelsea striker to the San Siro.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Milan ready to offer around 11.5 million euros for the Ivorian of 33 years, who recently received an offer from Chelsea to extend in two years the existing alliance.
As an alternative to Drogba, Adebayor are the Italian champions, who played the second half of the season at Real Madrid on loan from Manchester City. According to reports in the Spanish press, the meringues should not exercise the right of option for advanced, so that the Togolese should return to Manchester ready to listen to new proposals.
b) Maurizio Zamparini, Palermo president reiterates that Javier Pastore only leave the club for 50 million euros.
“Chelsea was the club with the highest proposed by Pastore but did not reach the minimum amount considered by a player of this quality. If someone wants to buy Pastore, the price is 50 million. There are five or six more interested clubs, including Manchester City and the ‘big’ in Spain and Italy, but until now no proposal “, said Zamparini.
Guys, guys, guys. We have not mentioned the amazing news.
NIK B WANTS TO LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll bring the beer, who is providing the food?
Hi JM,
I’m not believing the papers anymore 😉
Will, has that just broken about him wanting out?
Yes Rico. He has said in an interview in Denmark that he wants to leave.
the vol-au-vents are in the oven…..
In that case, I’ll do the food 🙂
Ok, Lee and I will do the food, Lee can do the meat eaters and me the veggies 😆
Who will make the see ya flags?
I think you can buy the blow up ‘two finger’ salutes Will 😉
Denilson?
Who is he??
What a dream window if Denilson and Nik B go.
Oh boy, another Summer of Discontents with disgruntled players and contract extension.
The good news is that this time, Cesc is keeping mum and maintaining a deafening silence.
I am one of those everlasting optimist that keep posting..yes….We will win the title in 2011/12..:D
The key to a successful 2011/12 season is to maintain a settled side and confirmed that 25-man squad prior to start of pre-saeson training in middle-June.
That is, for a settled side and to improve from last season with all bitter lessons learnt the ahrd way, this “Core” must be maintained with new players coming in to complement ’em, synergy and as catalyst to release their full potential as title-winning team.
The “Core” that must be maintained comprises:
1 – Fabianski, Szczesny plus a 3rd experienced goalie
2 – Sagna, Vermaelen, DJourou, Koscielny plus a new tall & expereinced CB.
3 – WIlshere, Song, Fabregas, Diaby plus a new DCM
4 – Walcott, Arshavin plus a new ACM
5 – Van Persie, Chamakh plus a new striker.
This will ensure a settled side and we come out flying out of the starting block on August 13, 2011.
Ironically, I see us as having an excellent chance to win the 2011/12 title as we do have a settled side as a stubborn will never sell Fabregas and Arshavin this summer since both of them are our most creative players, and proven macth winner with one magical move.
Nasri?
Do you know that last season, he ahs one assist only and only a “half season” player and gone missing for 2nd half of the season?
He reverted to his old selfish and greedy self like his salary demand held up our initial signing of him.
He is not a team player liek Cesc and Arshaivn, nor physiclaly tough enough to standup to the rigors and physcial demands of ENglish Football, and cna’t take knocks as invariably, he is kicked out of teh game after one or two hefty tackles.
I see this french poodle and pretty boy as more suitable in SPain and Italy, ratehr than England.
Just cut the losses, sell him and as Wenger said: “We need experienced players who can play in Premiership League, and I intended to buy premierhsip players…”
Nasri will never stay loyal and only interested in the color of money.
In summary, I believe Wenger will not sell Fabregas and Arshavin this summer a sboth of them including Van Persie are the “Cornerstones” fo 2011/12 team.
Summer of 2012?
Maybe if we ended up trophyless again and out of Top-4; and after Euro2012, we may get a better price for Cesc.
Now then, will Wenger offers a contract extension to Arshavin?
Wil Fabregas buckles down adn sign a contract extension to put to rest hsi flirtation with Barca?
After in 2012, Xavi will be 33 year old, maybe injury prone, and Barca maybe despertely begging Cesc to return at any price if Cesc continues to develop to hsi peak and acknowledge as a boan fide “finest midfielder in the world”” after Euro2012.
Will, a dream start but AW cannot stop there, we have other players on a bloomin good wage who need to be given the push…
And the out’s won’t mean anything, if we don’t get the right in’s….
Latest from Dansih press that Bendtner “confirmed” he is 100% leavign Arsenal this summer.
Merlin, you need to write an entry.
Hi Merlin, i am beginning to think Cesc is staying…
Re Nikki Merlin, the is 100% good news…..
Guys/Gals – i’m off for the day
Catch up tomorrow…
Be good and have a fab evening, whatever you get up to…
Nighty
id give the profit of bendtners sale to nasri to sign a new deal
sell nik for 10
give 3 to his agent 3 to him and tell him to sign 90k a week..agents are their to make it legal to bribe so do it and make 4 mil profit..
Nice maths there JJ
12 million euros for 70 percent of the pass, the proposal was made by Tottenham by hiring Leandro Damian. The leaders of the International wants more, so they refused.
“It was the first concrete proposal that we had. He said he did not want to sell now, but I think they come back with a new assault. I warned that it only comes out at the end of the year and a value greater good, “confirmed club president Giovanni Luigi Gaucho, told the newspaper Correio do Povo.
Leandro Damian, whose name has been linked with Benfica, was summoned by Mano Menezes for the upcoming games against Brazil for the preparation of the Netherlands and Romania, respectively, and have a chance to be part of the 22 squad that will participate in the Copa America, which starts in July in Argentina.
Barcelona, Roma and Arsenal are other teams interested in the young forward 21 years.
I didn’t know we were in for him.
Cameroon have expelled Alex Song from their camp for apparantly refusing to shake hands with Samuel Eto’o!
On the plus side, Alex can now go on holiday and make sure he’s fit for us next season. Maybe it’s a trend Arsene Wenger can encourage among his other players???
Morning all 🙂
