As we stand on the cusp of the new season Gooners all round the world are wondering what it holds.
Most are satisfied with the players we have bought in but some cast nervous eyes at our defence in the hope that Wenger shares our feeling of disquiet, especially where the full back berths are concerned.
How nice would a quality back-up for Sagna be, or can Jenkinson become defensively aware enough to do a proper job without re-enacting The Galloping Major at every opportunity?
How exquisite would it be if a DM, made of iron, was drafted into the squad to maintain defensive shape when everyone was charging forward like the Light Brigade on acid? Steve Bould’s patience will be sorely tested if this does happen and it is heartening to read Vermaelen’s comments about the defensive details that Bouldy is drumming into our cavalier back four.
Conceding any goal will hurt Steve I am sure and I hope Arsene gives him the room to dispense his ire with great profundity to make sure that everyone else feels the pain to the same extent. Forty nine goals conceded last term offers plenty of room for improvement and I expect that figure to drop considerably.
But, if we are buoyed by the arrivals, we cannot fail to be dismayed by someone we thought was one of our own. I speak of course of van Persie. I was listening to Kevin Pietersen the other day in a remarkably self effacing interview where he announced that he wanted to continue playing cricket for England and apart from the normal bleatings of self-agrandisment, in effect admitted that he had been a bit of a pratt.
I couldn’t help thinking about van Persie as he spoke. It must be plain to everyone that Robin was telling a load of porkies when he delivered his ill-considered proclamation to the fans. This self-serving pile of smelly stuff must have seemed like a good idea at the time, but I think he overestimated his bargaining position greatly. He had read the papers and believed the accolades that were being constantly bestowed upon him and the first casualty was his sense of humility.
He wants to go for the money. Pure and simple. It’s the oldest reason in the world and if Judas, one of Christ’s disciples, couldn’t resist it, then how could Robin?
Spurred on by his agent and a shadowy figure I shall refer to as the usual suspect, he forgot he was an Arsenal footballer and began to think purely in terms of his earning potential, thereby following the path trodden before him by those men of honour Adebayor and Nasri, to name but two.
Perhaps Robin would pout those lovely Dutch lips and cite the fact that it is a short career and that he had a family to consider and that this was his last contract. All the usual stuff that I am sure those who go to work and earn far, far less in a year than he does in a week, fully sympathise with.
So, at the time of writing, we have an impasse because Arsenal don’t want to sell him to that old dog Ferguson and might well make a stand over him. I like to think that Stan Kroenke has understood Fergie’s spiteful mind-set and the fact that the old git is worried about our spending and wants to weaken us while simultaneously delivering a blow to our team morale.
Man Utd are a slowly crumbling footballing edifice who have been so used to blowing everyone out of the water with their financial clout that they are affronted when new money comes into the game and threatens their position as football’s bully boys or when someone simply says an emphatic No!
All of a sudden the debts they are carrying look like a seriously debilitating factor against the backdrop of a deep world-wide recession. The inanely grinning ginger weirdos that are the Glazers are quite open in their avarice. They issue a share offer, in the US, that pays no dividends, starts off at a lower price than they were expecting and it’s all to pay off a tiny portion of the debt and to put a huge lump of cash into their pockets, presumably so they can pay off some of the other mounting debts on their other failing business interests in the States like their empty shopping malls. I would have thought that the money would be better spent on head transplants myself.
It is perhaps no surprise that Juventus can’t find the transfer fee for van Persie but they are still recovering from a match-fixing scandal in a league that no-one is interested in or trusts after years of general corruption. Even the fans can’t be bothered.
What about good old Barcelona? You know, the team that still owe Arsenal many millions for Fabregas. Couldn’t he go there? Problem is that they are in similar state to Man Utd and having looked on Money Supermercado for decent borrowing rates in a bankrupt Spain, they have realised that the only people likely to give such a top heavy institution of hypocrites any money is El Wonga.com and they want over 2000% interest. Not that the Catalans would have any intention of repaying it anyway.
Of course, if old red-nose stumped up £30 million then I have no doubt Arsenal would sell and we could all have a good laugh as this crusty historical artefact complained bitterly to all his alcoholic friends in the media about what terrible business people Arsenal are for not bending over and spreading ’em as soon as his Watney-rash of a nose started turning mauve in apoplexy up at Old Toilet.
I still hope that there are a couple of surprises along the way before the end of the transfer window. But when you think that we were consistently inconsistent last season, but for a lengthy period, were still the best team in the PL. We finished third, despite a horrendous close season and a shocking start and that we did all this with only one real striker at the club then perhaps we might expect better this season.
I for one have fresh hope but, with the transfer window still open, the situation remains fluid and anything could happen.

Gossip/News:
Emmanuel Frimpong is the latest Arsenal player to be ruled out of a return until at least October. That news isn’t good for the player but we as a club have no need to try and rush him back, he’s suffered two nasty injuries in as many years and he needs to be fully fit before trying to take steps back into the game. No doubt when that day arrives, he’ll be off out on loan for the rest of the season.
Fergie has given Wenger a call in attempt to make peace before trying to finalise a deal for RvP according to Fleet Streets finest and one newspaper suggests that a deal will be sorted out very soon. £22 Million is the price mentioned.
Olympiakos forward Kevin Mirallas has confirmed that his agent has held negotiations with Arsenal over a potential move this summer.
According to Sky Sports, when asked if he had spoken to Arsenal, Mirallas replied: “My manager has. Me? No.” The player was then asked if the transfer might happen to which he replied: “Yes, it’s good.”
The Alex Song saga continues, he’s said he’s happy at Arsenal but admits Barcelona are the best team in the world. Reports suggest that the Spanish club have made an offer for our midfielder but Arsene Wenger has made it clear that this is not the case:
In Spain the newspapers are not really serious. We’ve had the experience of that.
We’ve never had any contact with anybody from Barcelona.
Whether that is true or not is anyone’s guess….
On that note, have a good day all….
Morning again Rico…

Good stuff Adam, yes I am looking forward to Saturday. Still very wary of RVP and Theo both could easily move before end of August as well as Song.
Mirallas would be a decent replacement for Walcott but I would still prefer Theo to stay long term, we deserve the better years of him.
Your right we still need cover for the back 4 and with the Frimpong news and JW out till October and who knows what Sick note diaby will do, we are very exposed in midfield, especially if Song does leave for the foreign SCUM. So we still need the DM, I still believe M’Villa is the one for us.
Come on you Gunners
Sorry cillan…. 😛
Adam, I like the cut of your jib; you hate the denizens of Old Toilet, and their chief alcoholic bacon faced muck raker especially, almost as much as me and for that I applaud you.
In an ideal world if we do sell to Salford Red Sox it’d be for £30m+ and then Pursey is injured for the next 6 months while collecting £220k p/w.
That would be a fitting example of cosmic justice.

The blog doesn’t like multiple pastings in one comment !!! lol
Llorente is 27…
RVP is 28/29…..
Llorente would need time to adapt.
RVP is an EPL player.
ManUre bid £15 million for RVP.
But according to the Star would pay double for Llorente.
Shit-stirring or what???
Morning SYG…
More rumours re: Song i see…
Only 17 more days of it to go….
I nearly had a myocardial infarction when I saw the headline about ‘another’ midfielder out until October.
Such great news that it was only one that was out already anyway.
i have heard from an estate agent pal of mine that Song’s wife has given them their 2 houses to sell. he asked if they were looking for somewhere else locally and was told no.
make of that what you will
I don’t really want to see RvP at Man Ure but if he goes Gervinho must step up and start sharing the goal scoring burden. Poldolski and Giroud are very good players but to expect an Aguerro like first season is a big ask. I believe they’ll do quite well so long as they aren’t relied upon for all the goals like Robin last year.
Why are estate agents all liars?
Looking at van Persie on Sunday against Cologne I suddenly thought he didn’t seem like an Arsenal player any more. Perhaps the inevitable consequence of his actions. The game now is twofold. Maximise the fee and spend it with a degree of nicety and effectiveness.
we need to keep song and walcott at any cost also if we play hardball with man u and dont sell them van the man they are in a big mess drag the transfer upto to the last day of the window and then say we dont wana sell.
With van Persie gone perhaps Song’s effectiveness would diminish?
sometin is fishy with ferguson wanting van persieso badly. i tot he he was satisfy with a host of his strikers.
Morning Kev, morning Adam.
The Daily Star, eh. That’s never been a paper.
I think all three signings will settle into the EPL just fine.
Someone hit the nail on the head this morning re: Arsenal doing all the scouting for the rest of the PL. “Tello to Liverpool” today???
Nice post+ I hope the right-back position is sorted out quickly so it doesn’t become our achilles heel! Apart from that, I have always told friends Song is staying @least for this season!
Hiya syg.
morning guys…fantastic read Adam
Morning again all, sorry Syg, the links sometimes push a comment into moderation, all out now…
Welcome to those just joining HH this morning…
Morning Terence.
Walcott I’d like to stay; Song can go.
Walcott and Gervais are similar “animals” but bring entirely different things to the team. If that makes sense.
On form, they can be untouchable; off form they are both highly frustrating.
Walcott has a direct pace and power which can tear a team apart.
Gervais has the close ball control and raw skill that can do the same
If they can improve on their decision making and improve their final ball, be it a pass or a finish, they’d be exceptional players.
Song? I’ve said enough about him. He is the weakest link. He’ll leave if there’s any substance in the stories. That is “IF”
And he’s easily replaced.
Sorry nobby 😉
Fucking fantastic by Adam…who is Rico
Rvp is going nowhere
Nobby, try a dose of Glyceryl Trinitrate…
SYG, maybe AW puts the players into the public domaine, that he’s looked at, but no longer wants.
Distracting his rivals whilst he is looking elsewhere?
fabulous, Nico Yennaris will imho, be Sagna’s understudy by the end of this season…
No worries in that dept my friend.
SYG, 10.16;
Totally agree mate…
For all of Theo’s inconsistency, he bring’s something to our team and affects the way opponants play against us to our advantage.
I salute the amount of research you do SYG!
I”m feeling a tad apprenhensive today tbh. The squad is settled but I want RVP, Song and Theo’s contract situations sorted out ASAP.
And you guys just know that Chamakh will be here next season 🙁
Le grove totally lacks any coherent and constructive debate I have come to believe. To many trolls and self centered know it all’s there.
Apart from that a good post Adam keep them coming.
robn, that’s interesting, Spain isn’t local is it 😉
Kc, what makes you ask??
SYG agree about Song but I’m nowhere near convinced by Walcott. he has been at the same level for few years now and is at the age where he should be progressing year on year.
As for Song there are plenty of better players out there and one or two with in the club for that matter.
fabulous – have to agree with Kev re Yennaris, he’s the long term replacement for Sagna and I strongly suspect he will start on Saturday

I think you may have a point, Kev.
Cheers Pele. You’re a top gun.
Looks likw we’re in for a busy few weeks!
Song, RVP and Theo to go? recoup that 40m + another 20m.
Bring in M’Vila, Sakho and Mirallas. I’d be happy with that!
All the bloggers rate Yennaris highly, Rico. There has to be something there.
Hope he becomes as good a player as Ashley Cole.
SYG, a bloke in the office laid me 15-1 for us to win the PL….I put £100 on us! COYG!
……not bending over and spreading ‘em as soon as his Watney-rash of a nose started turning mauve……… Ha ha ha ha ha Over the years we have been roughed up by $£ doped teams keeping us perpetually below title contention. Really refreshing to see Arsenal able to dictate things once again. Like you said let him and his backers rack up the dough and we’ll talk. Why is he so desperate does he have a crystal ball or something?? Then we should hold out for £40 Million cos he seems to know something we don’t.
some fragile lightweight injured already. Christ some of these blokes a fairies!
🙂 re you earlier Adam about Song/RvP….
But you are right, it seems majority of the fans supporting Song staying look only to his assists…
Morning all,
I’d be happy with the following, vP & SOng sold for as much as possible… New contract for Theo, Bring in Sahin on Loan and M’Vila or Capoue…. This Miralles fella would be a bonus if we also manage to get rid of Chmuk, Park and Bendy…!
There is no debate on LG just utter mud slinging and bullshit due to the fact thats how people allow it to be run simple as that TT… If you allow your blog to be like that then thats the kind of comments you’ll get..!
Hiya Paul. How good is Mirallas?
I’m sure there are a few who would moan about his age Syg, but he looks solid and a better option than Jenks and that is not me knocking Jenks, just think he could do with a loan and sharpen up a bit….
Morning WATH
over 600 comments yesterday. Everyone is feeling happy.
Hope we get Sahin in this week followed by either one of yours and Rico’s “lads”
Morning Rico,
i was bigging up Adam
Alan MP, bah humbug…. 😆
Esp, I’d still like us to keep Theo….
Morning Wath, you seen the Totts are hoping to get both M’Vila and Capoue…
Unless we will shift jenk to CB..cnt see him playing RB once Yen is dere
😆 Kc, that went over my head….
Anyone know the extent of Chamberlains injury??
I think AOC’s injury is just for precaution. I’m not sure about Kos’ though – hope it isn’t serious.
If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
Jenkinson has an issue with wanting to push the ball in front of him before he decides what to do with it. It’s a bad habit, that tips off the opponent where he’s going to actually put it.
His positional sense is not too clever either.
Again, I’m not knocking the kid as he’s one of us, but he needs to get shut of a couple of bad habits – because that is all they are.
He’s certainly young enough to improve.
Sagna is a fantastic role model for both he and Yennaris.
Rico,
how many of our players are going to national duty
SYG…. Nice vid mate, and soundtrack…
Henryesque finishing, with 14 on his shirt.
Looks a typical Wenger signing.
Neither can I Kc…. Coquelin is another option at Rb
SYG, I can’t see M’Vila going to the swampies he’s already said he wants CL football..! Unless they are going to try bribe him with stupid wages can’t see that happening..!
Very fine post Adam…..!
Romford – I reckon AW is just putting club before friendlies… Finally..
Not sure Kc, don’t think it’s many at the moment…
Just checked, it’s 14 away on international duty….
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/44471/international-watch-gunners-away-on-duty
I found this one a few weeks ago. I remember the match, but never watched it. We beat them 2-1 at home.
Mirallas looks pretty tasty… two footed as well as quick…! Hmmmm that could well b a wenger buy…!
I think so too Rico – we have 12/13 players away on International duty, worst time to have friendly. Let’s hope they all come back in one piece.
On the transfer front, i’d be really surprised if we brought in more than another two players max. And I think/hope we’re going to see about 3/4 leave before the end of the window.
Rico, 7 of that 14 would probably not be in the starting XI.
And all the top sides are in the same boat.
Fortunately we start at home…
Don’t think they do ‘big wages’ Wath
Uruguay striker Gaston Ramirez has rejected an approach from Tottenham after not being satisfied with the wages he was offered.
😆
And Squlli in the deal, bargain all round 🙂
Don’t think many will play 90 mins RP and as Kev says, not may are from our starting eleven…
Just hope RvP doesn’t get injured 😉
Yes Kev, it really is a bonus starting at home. Not many worse things I can think of than starting away against an O’Neil side.
The Chinese paralympic 5-a-side football team was unveiled today:-

SYG, another great vid. No stupid commentary…
A blast from the past.
Heard one strangled voice from the crowd “You fucking idiot Willie” as he tried to play the ball outta defence… 🙂
I watched it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We looked rubbish compared to now.
I watched the highlights of the 72 Final when I got back in from the curry house last night. The football on that, wasn’t that bad.
Now football on Tv without commentary.
What a great idea…
Wonder if it’ll ever catch on?
AK, you know what would be a great option… If on ya sky box you had the option of crowd noise only and no idiot commentators talking utter shit…!
SYG, although that Madgeburg pitch had a good covering of grass, compared to the Highbury of that period, it was a bumpy surface.
The crossing was awful…
You can clearly see how the improvement in preparations and coaching have made the game/players, superior to today…
Preparation included steak ‘n chips plus 5 pints of bitter….
That, Wath, is so obvious, that they’ll never do it…
How many idiot commentators would it put outta work..?
Nobody would miss them…
Looks like Song is staying then, he’ll never sell 2 houses by the end of August.
Was that David Price i saw just scoring.
No Alan Sunderland…
Still in bed no doubt!
Manchester United ready to up Robin van Persie offer past £20m mark
Manchester United are ready to tempt Arsenal into selling captain Robin van Persie by lodging a bid close to their £25 million asking price.

J.Sanderson
😆 Micko…
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has made signing Van Persie his top priority this summer, but having already failed with a £15 million bid, the Scot was initially skeptical about increasing his offer.
However, after missing out on a deal for Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Moura last week, Ferguson has pushed ahead with his bid to land Van Persie, who has less than a year left on his Arsenal contract, and is refusing to sign an extension.
The Dutchman has made it clear to Arsenal that while he has no issue with seeing out the final year of his deal, he would prefer the opportunity to sign for United this summer.
The Gunners are maintaining that their skipper won’t be sold for less than their £25 million valuation, but are expecting United to offer something close to that in the next 24 hours following a week of intense negotiations.
It follows a weekend of intense negotiations between the two clubs, that culminated in Ferguson personally speaking to Arsene Wenger over a deal, as the duo bid to end the two-month long transfer saga.
United will lodge a reported £20 million bid plus £2 million in bonuses, and will then leave the ball in Arsenal’s court over whether it is accepted.
Van Persie, who is currently with the Holland squad on international duty, scored 30 Premier League goals in 38 matches last year and won both domestic Footballer of the Year awards.

Tidy comment, Kev.
I honestly can’t believe we’re going to sell to United. Awful on the board’s part and awful on RVP’s part.
That wasn’t the video that should have been posted ….
again …That wasn’t the video that should have been posted …. frigging youtube
Its our year this year.
Come on SYG sort yaself out 😀
Hi all.good read as usual.this Rvp saga is really clouding our summer.I can’t believe Rvp would really do that to us.wasn’t he there in the tunnel when the Mancs ended our unbeaten record?how could he want to join them?…am sorry but if we sell him to them it will be a bad summer in my eyes.we should never sell any of our best players to them.
Thank you YouTube….
And no, we shouldn’t do business with Man Utd re: Van Persie.
Never weaken your team and strengthen your rivals.
The last time that happened we got goosed taking Silvestre off them. And we actually paid money for him as well.
Right now, a forward line of RVP, Giroud and Podolski is as good as anythng out there.
If he really wants to go, sell him to Juve for less money. The board seem to hung up on recuperating what they spend.
Agree Romford, but if he’s going, I just hope it’s real soon so we can get on and sort the squad out with the money….
Rvp would be a Massive upgrade to welbeck/hernandez.it would also significantly weaken us.I can’t believe after everything we have been through with Rvp he would force such a move 🙁 🙁 i can’t stand the sight of him in an AON shirt hugging shrek after putting a brace past us 🙁
Don’t think we will sell Theo Walcott & Song, only the rumour house & newspaper making up all of this fallacy. However Van Persie case is a 50-50% case depending on the fee we get from intrested club as they must meet our valuation. Apart from that we might still have this players around for the new season…
He can go Rico, that’s not the issue. Just not to United. We’re trying to make up 19 points on them from last season. Selling RVP to them doesn’t help the issue.
Saying this, it does take two to tango…
RP, forget vP he’s history mate…. he goes to Man ure so what…? they on the way out, his whole package will cost them in the region of 60million I think we are stitching them big time…! We get that Mirallas, M’Vila or Capoue and Sahin on loan we’ll be very very strong…!
Great article Adam, however you skin it the vast majority of MU fans still wearing Red are in complete denial. Says something when they flog off 10 percent of the club, stick half in there pocket over in the Cayman Islands and 2 weeks to go all they have brought is a APAC shirt seller. Red nose is in a right old panic, City have cast a undeniable shadow over OT and suddenly AW has stepped back out of the shadows. Anything over 20m will be great business as long as it is put straight back into the squad. With Either Dempsey, Miralis or Lloriente and M’villa, we also need a experienced versatile defender for cover.
If RVP he truly cared he would have signed and nipped it in the bud. Besides he has done us a big favour by giving the club a kick up the backside.
I don’t care what the PR department come up with or what he say in his “Sun Column” or how much Badge kissing he does – RVP will never be a legend after all this posturing and game playing. Kiss the badge ? More like kiss my man vadge!
Ok am I missing something
Why have I not seen or heard of a swop deal along he lines of 20 mil + Berbetov? It makes so much sense and to be honest he’s still a great player who wants to play and has quality that is in abundance
I promise we would soon forget his spurs tenure as he adds so much more up front and would create as much as he scores
RVP will regret leaving but I think Berbetov could be a surprise that Arsenal need and if Fergie truly wants RVP then he needs to give up a player
Lets face it I saw Fergie and his assistant coach on camera last season taking the piss behind Berbetov so the respect might be there from player to coach but not from coach to player ,I’m sure that Wenger would not make the same mistake publicly humiliating a player is in poor taste
So my push is for RVP to go and us get 20 mil + Berbetov!!!!!
I’m really not of the opinion that loosing vP weakens us at all, we’ve brought in 2 experienced international strikers who between then will give us vP’s goal tally and maybe more… they are younger and hopefully are not as injury prone and as much as I always rated and rate vP we all know that could of been a one season wonder with his track record sat in the sick room…! Cazorla is “THE” buy…. lose vP bring in a DM and maybe another younger striker and we’ll be top notch..!
like i said yesterday selling RVP wouldn’t be a totally bad idea neither will keeping him……he goes to manure, plays 18 games in 3 seasons,so long as they meet our asking price.
The big question though is, will Rvp hit the same heights he did last season?? He didn’t at the Euros….
If RvP goes, can’t see another striker being bought in, Wenger loves Song, not sure we’ll see a M’Vila or Capoue type either, I think he’s done spending on the squad now, he’s ready to go.
I’m not so sure Bigsanty, there is something in the Song rumours i am convinced but read this morning that the talks with Theo were going well…
As long as he’s replaced Romford, I don’t really care if he goes to Utd – with the squad that Wenger is building, he could be there with Rooney, watching us win the league ahead of them. Now that would be justice….
Rico i thought RVP would have learnt his lessons after the EUROs ,we always played to his strengths…he will never attain the same heights with any other club.even if he stays,he wont score 30 goals this season maybe 15 if podolski and the gang allow him play.
Micko, AW says he is still after 1 or 2 players….
Maybe a bargain on DD to bolster the defence rico.
I don’t think he will either bondex and once he’s gone, i won’t care either 😉
I agree with Wath, Mirallas, M’Vila or Capoue and Sahin on loan and we’ll be a real force….
Not this summer Micko 😉
Good day guys.
I am not bothered about RVP leaving. If he wants to go to UTD so be it. No one player is bigger than the club. You never know he might get himself injured and out for sometime. You just never know. RVP is part of the reason we’ve not won a trophy in the last 7 years. I remember in 2010/2011 season when we had Arshavin leading the attack. Just one good season, he feels he is arsenal’s messiah. Quite obvious he needs a retirement package. If he is interested in staying he would have done a ‘rooney’. We should concentrate now on the players we have and sort out theo’s contract extension. Maybe get 1/2 players before the transfer market closes.
By the way is Bendtner still with arsenal. i thought is agent said he had a global appeal. He’s got the guts to say arsenal is not an option. and any club that wants to sign him must fulfill his 3 criteria. The muppet is just arrogant and frustrated. TAXI for bendtner pls
Adam – Good writeup
Hi emma
I’ve got to that point with him now too, i truly believed that once our signings were made, RvP would change his mind and stay but as Adam says in his post, it’s only ever been about money.
Well, I’m glad he hasn’t taken ours….
Ditto re Bendtner….
Welcome XLR8 – personally, i would hate us to get Berbytoff, he’s too lazy…
In fact I wouldn’t want many of their players tbh….
Welcome to you to Arsenal DNA, totally agree re the money, get it and spend it. We don’t need too many….
Rico, on a more serious note, Ian Beale has let himself go a bit hasn’t he.

Evening all.
Ah, good old cut ‘n paste SYG…
it can leave ya with egg on ya mush…
Amazing factoid, Micko: Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) supports Liverpool and went to school in Walthamstow with Nasser Hussain.
It can Kevin, it can….
God knows why that pile of shite kept on getting pasted in there…
He certainly has Micko, he spills the beans this week apparently….
He can if he wants Syg, but best he lets AW know 😉
Hi Scott…
Strewth it’s Scott….. bonzer…..
For Scott…..
Guys I agree with all what you’re saying but I can categorically say that Wenger will not buy a striker in Van P leaves. Nobody is willing to pay for Chamakh and he’ll most likely get his fair share of outings next season. We only play one striker upfront so I doubt we’ll see another forward coming in. Wenger will direct his attentions elsewherre.
For me, i’d keep RVP and let him see out his contract. We don’t need the money, we need a competitive team. RVP will make us more competitive, for me it’s a no brainer.
As I said, I very much doubt we’ll bring in more than 2 players max before the end of the window so keeping VP is a priority.
What irks me, similar to what KT said, is how someone can be a staunch Arsenal fan from youth and happily move there later on his careeer. Does he not remember all the classic grudge matches that have been played against them down the years. We may not have been as competitive in recent times but it’s still up there for me as a serious rivalry. The only thing that tops them for me is those lot down the road.
He’ll be public enemy number one if he moves there. But one thing is for sure, an Arsenal fan who loves Arsenal doesn’t move to United. This is why Cesc will always have my respect.
Walcott returns to Arsenal after a bruised thigh
http://www.thefa.com/England/News/match-centre/2012/italy-v-england/match-previews/theo-walcott-returns-arsenal
That’s class kev. Rolf Harris was brilliant. Cop this one.
RP….
For RVP, see Sol Campbell…
At least we’ll get a fee…
Afternoon Scott!
I’ve come to the conclusion RVP wants the cash lol!
Theo out of the England squad.
Rico, he was never a Spurs fan to start with!
I still think we’ll sign another if/when he goes Romford – and I do believe that Chamuck will be gone by the time the 1st August gets here, Nik, Park and AA too – imho that is…..
Good emma, hope a few more follow Theo and return… I doubt its too serious for Theo…
Sorry Kev, my 1.12pm was aimed at you!
SYG…. 😆
Great for taking quick singles….
I’d like to see Arshavin stay. He looked up for the season v’s Cologne.
RP, must have the corks on my hat… 😉
There’s no flies on you digger!! 😉
G’day Kev…
You lost me there RP, who??
Rolf Harris. One of the top 5 things to come out of Austroilia …
Arsenal should never sell Rvp to manure instead play him in reserve 4 one year, arsenal not need 2 strenghten manure n lose a player like vp to them. Arsenal now dictating not one debt-drowning club dictating for us. Great article though!
Scott if he leaves after all the transfer biz the club have done, what other conclusion can we come to…
But, as Coach will say, i think the club haven’t done all they could have to keep him, as they’re cashing in, whilst he is worth selling…
I agree AK.
Lee,I’m sharp tonight!!
Talking of Australia and Van Persie, another greedy bastard – Harry Kewell is on about signing for Blackburn ….
As a tack Scotty…..you getting all ambidexterous on me??? 😉
SYG,who’s he?
He’s been over there so long,he’s a Pom lol.
Ha ha. Top lad, Scott !
SYG,he’s been injury free and has looked pretty decent over the last year or so.
Offski for a while, back later….
G’Day/Hola, Lee
Kewell held a gun to Leeds to get his part of a shit transfer fee to Liverpool… A bit like Van Persie signing for Man Utd for £5M and him getting nearly half.
Leeds desperately needed the money at the time due to Ridsdale etc..
After Liverpool who did he join? Galatasaray, The club all Leeds supporters hate.
No loyalty in football for some.
For Rico…
He was a great footballer with Leeds, Scott, of that there is no doubt.
His transfer to Liverpool did him no favours – it was cheap and tacky show.
Morning all.
Sadly, Wenger will be forced to sell RvP as he wants a settled side, harmony in the dressing room…..and not a player who wanted to leave4 and really he will run that extra yard, that extra eagerness to fight for the ball…and like Cesc in 2010/11…..just lack that bit of commitment.
Wenger learned from Cesc that it is a losing situaiton to retain a player whose heart and mind is no more at Emirates.
Wenger learned from Nasri that a wnataway player looking for more doss will simply be a corrosive element in the dressing room.
Wenger should remember the form of Vieira when his deal with Real fell thru’ and he was moping and wanderlust on the pitch, easily disposed by a dwarf….and only woke up in Feb/Mar with an incredible improvement in his statistic….
Let him leave for 20-mil.
We need to move forward to rebuild this 3rd team to fulfil its potential this season…..
Remember after Henry left in 2007…Gilberto left…..no Pires….and we were written off…and guess what happened at season start in 2007/08?
That is my Dream…for this season start like 2007/08……..

Arsenal is currently negotiating with Olympiakos on a purchase of Belgian Kevin Mirallas
http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/arsenal-forhandler-om-belgisk-topangriber
Off to bed guys…have a great day.
Great entry today. I think we will bring on one DM and one more utility defender. We will than have a squad capable of challenging.
Here is the full list with expected return times:
Mikel Arteta has a small knock, the length of the injury is not yet known but a date is expected soon.
French Defender Laurent Koscielny has a calf injury, but the seriousness of the injury is yet to be announced. He has been withdrawn from the France squad.
Teenage superstar Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has sustained an ankle/foot injury but the length he will be out for, has not yet been announced. The Englishman had to pull out of the England National Team due to the injury.
Tomas Rosicky has a calf muscle strain, his return date has been revealed and he is expected back in 2 months.
Jack Wilshere still has a recurring foot injury, which ruled him out of the entire 2011/2012 season. The Englishman is finally expected back in 3 months.
Emmanuel Frimpong has a knee injury, which he sustained during his loan at Wolves last season and he is expected back in 2 months.
Bacary Sagna is still out with a broken leg, he expected back in 3 weeks. This is a much earlier return than first expected.

Well, 7 players only….unlike that 8-2 disaster in the Old Toilet when sh*t really fly there.
My only concern is Arteta as we may be playing a new SOng-DIaby defensive pairing where both…ah..does not track back well…
We need TV5 in top form as a sweeper to compensate for a slow-turning Per (assuming Kos cna’t make it on Saturday)…
Full-back?
I fancy Yennaris at RB and a pacy Gibbs to protect the centre as “Last Man”, i.e. sweeping behind CB as secondary protection.
WIth Cazorla, I really prefer SOng to sit back as DCM and not box-to-box CM.
Can we see this TEAM on Saturday?
………………………………..Szczesny
…Yennaris…..Mertesacker………Vermaelen……….Gibbs
………………Song………………………………..Diaby
………………………………..Cazorla
… Poldolski…………………Giroud…………………Gervinho
I can’t see Walcott starting as he is short of match fitness, plus playing fro ENgland on Wednesday…….more as a supersub.
Let’s hope we will see the real Gervinho on Saturday, not afraid to shoot…and shoot accurately at goal.
Of course, his decision-making is still as good as Walcott in “shoot or pass” situation….
Well SYG..I do admire Kewell and somewhat, his transfer to Liverpool coincided with his decline…….
Perhaps players forgot that it is the TEAM that made them great..and the familiarity of playing seasons in and seasons out where instinctive understanding are developed……….
This accounted for why Anelka, Overmars, Petit, Hleb and FLamini flopped playing elsewhere. Teams want instant result and they were never given a chance to settle down gradually…like Wenger so patient with Henry, Pires, Hleb, FLamini and Cesc..and Van Persie… to settle down at Arsenal.
Cesc?
Let’s wait and see whether the “2nd Season” Syndrome will strike him down at Barca…
Merlin, Walcottt has pulled out of the squad.
All last week we are looking as we a club going forward
…Song and Diaby?
Arsenal of old.
These two play together like Laurel & Hardy.
AOC probably isn’t serious – just a precaution. He may form part of the pivot/axis. I’d rather have him and Coq in there, at least they’d want to actually try.
I was only thinking about that 10 mins ago Merlin re: the Walcott to Inter story….
He’d be the biggest flop since Luther Blisset…..
Walcott will be a great striker when played as a striker.
Maybe Will. It is a question of WHEN will he be played as a striker to get great.
He’d not do it over in Italy. It’s hard over there for even our top players.
Walcott should be stuck on the shoulder of the last defender and told to go every time a midfielder has the ball. Yes he will be offside a lot but then once he will not be and no one will catch him. Can defenders take that chance?
Will, that tactic won’t work if the defenders are playing deep. Then what will Theo have to offer after that?
And we play one striker upfront – Theo doesn’t have enough facets to his game to make that role his own.
Good day all.
Nice post Adam! Time for us to show our ‘sustainable model’ strength and refuse Utd at all costs I think. Abroad or nothing for RVP.
Just read on Marble halls about cazorla heading to puerto Rico this week for a meaningless friendly, What The Actual Fuck! He won’t be fit for Sunderland then?!
You’ve hit the nail on the head, Lewis.
International football is toss anyway – Meaningless friendlies are a thousand times worse.
Interesting article re Italian football and Arsenal:

Complete and utter toss SYG!!
Sorry Lewis. Complete and utter toss.
Am getting the feeling you 2 are not into international friendlies…..!
Sorry WATH – I haven’t purposely fully watched an international friendly for years …
When I was a kid, the England matches were a treat.. As Currie, Hudson, Bowles, Bell and all the other best players from the league lined up … It meant something back then…
..Even in the days of Keegan and Francis it weren’t that bad …
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7989160/
Loool who remembers this dude ^^^^
Yup hC, Theo got sunburn on his thigh and Roy decided not to risk him as it will reduce his speed into a blind alley by 10 kph…
I read somewhere that we got 14 players off for internationals..@#$%%^%
QUite ironic if RvP signs for ManU…only to return injured after internationals….
Let’s not short-changed DIaby as perhaps this is the season he is fully recovered from all those niggling injuries…like Van Persie..like Theo..like Rosicky….like Vermaelen…..
If you noticed the few game she played last season, he had learned not to dwell on the ball and his passing is quicker than previous…..meaning, he is learning and improving.
Theo?
I agreed that he should play more centrally like Michael Owen..and a shis physique improves, getting more experienc, adding a few more synapses every season into his football brain…playing more games with a settled squad…….without Van Persie being the one and only target….with more and more passes and crosses coming his way…….Gervinho, Poldolski and GIroud and Cazorla pulling defenders out of shape………time for Walcott to strut his stuff and become a 20+ goal per season striker now.
Expeeince, self-belief and self-confidence count a lots with Theo.
I feel that previous seasons, there seem to be a lack of self-confidence wihtin him, mentlaly fragile…….but as his self-beleif returned during that 20-minute cameo in EUro2012, plus a few vital goals last season…..we may yet see a Walcott fulfilling his potential this season.
The greatets mistake Walcott will ever make – ANelka – is to leave now without completing the tutelage udner Arsene Wenger. Walcott sitll need Wenger’s coaching, guidance and patience to fulfil his potential at Arsenal FC.
WHy leave now for short-term gaina s even after 4 more years at Arsenal FC, he is still 27/28 yea rold…at his physical peak then..and at his peak as a worldclass striker…and all thanks to Arsene Wenger.
He shouldn’t make the same error of judgement as Anelka, Jose Reyes, HLeb, FLamini, and even Adebayor by leaving before they are fully developed as envisaged by Arsene Wenger.
Lupoli. The best finisher in World football, if not the Universe according to Wenger.
He played in a two-pronged attack with Bendtner in an away v’s Doncaster in a League cup match where we drew 2-2, thanks to a last minute goal by Gilberto.
He was fucking rubbish.
Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:
August 14, 2012 at 2:21 pm
Will, that tactic won’t work if the defenders are playing deep. Then what will Theo have to offer after that?
That’s the idea RP, teams know we play this tiki taka style football so they can push up and squeeze the play. It is worth sacrificing a player to create space.
../.spelling mistakes grammar errors … trying to read Merlin’s whilst doing mine
Arsenal:
Almunia,
Eboue, Senderos, Djourou, Cygan,
Hleb, Song, Silva, Owusu-Abeyie (Larsson 78),
Van Persie (Bendtner 33), Lupoli (Gilbert 106).
Absolute garbage
Especially Senderos
Will,
How many parked buses do you see at the Emirates? I go to every home game and it’s more a case of trying to find space. Maybe away from home Theo is a good option but at home you need more Cazorla types than Theo types. Plus we have people who are quick but know how to use the ball more economically.
Lol, RVP off in the 33rd minute…. Injury?! But yes, Lupoli was dire. In fact, that whole line-up is horrific!
Theo is a fairly one-dimensional footballer. His main attribute is his speed.
Pele … BBC report
…”the highest-profile player on show, Robin van Persie, limped out of the action following a crunching challenge from Stephen Roberts.
“His replacement Nicholas Bendtner had their best chance before the break but Jan Budtz had the measure of his header.”
RP, for the parked bus games I would have Cazorla and Arshain in the hole and let them run riot.
That’ll teach them…. http://gossip.ladyarse.com/2012/08/sky-put-up-tottenham-poster-outside-the-emirates/
I disagree with you SYG, I think Walcott is a good finisher and his pace will get him in place to finish.
Haha, SYG, i’ve lost count how many times i’ve seen that in the past 8 years!!
Will – Yes Cazorla and Arshavin are the sort of players that need to plat home. As for Theo, we’ll have to disagree, i’ve never seen him as more than an impact sub and I doubt i’ll change my mind. Ox is already a million times better than him.
I like Walcott, Will but until I see him played centrally I’ll have to hold my judgement on that one
Hello everyone!
I know that Theo tends to divide opinion, but imho the wide man who could be a sensation this season is Gervinho….
But i also like Theo…
Afternoon guys and gals….
Rico. How are things then?
so, RVP is definetely out..

Where do you see the RvP news JM?
Hi Adam – will email you…
Lee – your 3.38 😆
Hi JM, how are you??
I’m fine thanks.
International sport press. :
Arsenal were filled novel about the Dutch forward Robin van Persie and is willing to sell it for 28 million euros, said on Tuesday the British newspaper The Sun
Boo!! rico have you met Boo, the world’s cutest dog?
Adam, no wonder you have writing gigs. 😉 This is a top, top write. RvP is beneath contempt. I don’t want him to have anything to do with our club.
Hiya, JM! 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your hols. 🙂
Hi, Will and SYG. 🙂
Don’t know what happened there??????
Good Laugh
Scene: Arsene Wenger is sitting in his office at about 11:30 AM. His cell phone rings, playing The Well-Tempered Clavier by JS Bach, and as he looks down, he sees a 161 area code. He picks up, thinking it’s the cell phone of Roberto M., who has a 161 code, but it’s actually Sir Alex Ferguson on his 1986-vintage landline phone.
AW: Hellooh, who’s calling?
Unknown, Scottish brogue: Arsene, it’s me, Alex.
AW: Oh. Yes, hello, Alex.
SAF: Did you get my latest bid for van Persie? It’s the best I can offer, really. £17.5m, and Danny Welbeck on loan.
AW: Yes, I believe I did get a little bit glance at it. But I must say, Ivan told me he thought it was a joke.
SAF: A JOKE! A JOKE! WHO THE HELL DOES THIS IVAN CHAP THINK HE IS, EH? EH?
AW: Everyone thinks they have the best chairman at home, Alex.
SAF: Sorry, Arsene. But you’ve got to help me, here, Arsene. We’re not that different from you. Come on, Arsene. I can up it up to £17.75m. Please do me this one favour, Arsene.
AW: I understand your desperation, Alex, but I must tell you, I have a little bit of a phone call coming in from the 161 area. I believe it is Roberto, I was expecting his call.
SAF: ROBERTO?!? NO, LET ME–
Arsene puts Ferguson on hold.
Arsene, toying with Ferguson, lets him in on the conference call that he’s having with Roberto M.
AW: It’s been excellent doing business with you, Roberto. I’ll go tell him now that he can go, and I’ll tell Arsenal.com that it’s a done deal. Talk to you soon, Roberto. Yes, bye.
AW hangs up on RM.
SAF: DONE DEAL? DONE DEAL? BUT YOU WERE GOING TO–NEVERMIND, I’LL OFFER £25M, JUST CALL ROBERTO AND TELL HIM IT’S OFF
AW: You want to spend £25m on Ryo Miyaichi, Alex? It’s a very generous offer, but I haven’t you got a lot of wingers?
Ferguson sounds distracted, flustered
SAF: Yes, I’ll offer £25–wait. Ryo–Who the fooking hell is that?
AW: Ryo Miyaichi. Our young Japanese midfielder. Roberto generously offered to take him on loan.
SAF: Roberto Mancini?
AW: No, Roberto Martinez. Why would I be talking to Mancini?
Arsene’s phone starts to beep.
AW: I’m sorry, Alex, but I think my phone is out of minutes. Phone calls to Spain can be very expensive. If you want to negotiate for any of our players, you can do it through the usual channels. Au revoir!
SAF: [unintelligible, we think he may have swore into his wine glass]

Fernando Llorente’s impending exit signals beginning of the end for Spanish football
By J.Sanderson
At last!!!!!!
Like it or not, Spanish football has always been about its dominant power couple – Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Between them, they’ve shared each of the last eight La Liga titles, and sit proudly at the top of the all-time winners list, with Madrid having claimed the league 32 times to Barça’s 21. They are the untouchables.
But as rampant and entertaining as they are, Madrid and Barça are big fish in an ocean of mediocrity. Every year, the battle begins not to rival the top two, but just to simply compete.
Last year, Spanish football seemed to find its greatest hope yet of a long-term competitor to the elite. Step forward Athletic Bilbao, a side not powered by money or success, but identity and philosophy.
Led by the mad cap tactician Marcelo Bielsa and using Bilbao’s famous youth policy of only signing players from the Basque country, they reached the Europa League final, and promised a lot more. A young, hungry side with entertainers Iker Muniaín, Markel Susaeta and Ander Herrera mixed perfectly with the solid but stylish Javi Martínez and Ander Iturraspe – they were noted as a side on the up.
Above all that, leading the Bilbao charge was their talismanic striker Fernando Llorente. A powerful but equally technical striker who plays with passion and spirit.
But just as the club look to build a sustainable future, they will hand over Llorente for as little as £15 million this summer, after failing to tie him to a new contract.
Llorente would be labelled a money grabber in England, but he earns just £40,000-a-week and would like an increase towards £60,000-a-week. Not huge amounts of money when you look across Europe, but Spain’s imbalance means that hopeful Bilbao just don’t have the funds to pay such an increase.
In La Liga, the television money is negotiated by individual clubs, not the league, meaning the big attractions Madrid and Barça draw funds well over £100 million every year, while third place Valencia and emerging Bilbao struggle to make over £30 million.
In real terms, it means the departure of stars like Llorente is now becoming increasingly inevitable among those hopeful sides outside of the top two, who simply can’t afford to keep their big hitters.
Some will have little pity, but the true shame is not that Bilbao’s superb talents won’t get a chance to blossom together as promised, it’s that Spanish football is on the cusp of imploding.
La Liga was dubbed the best league in the world two years ago. Now its lack of competition means it is eating itself and its future
Agag. Many thanks for your kind words.
Boo to you agag 😉
Wonder where he will go AK?
JM, big season for Benfica eh???
Come on you Eagles… 😉
Hi Kev. All this stuff about the Spanish league. Brilliant isn’t it? 🙂
Agag. I have been following Boo for some time. Looks just like a toy.
Yes Rico, it does make you wonder?????
Hi Adam/Agag
Yes Adam, La Liga is just a technical version of the SPL…
Vernat 😆 😆
Kev. The owners and chairmen of the other major clubs in Spain (not Barca and RM) have had the hump for ages at how the league is rigged. I believe it was last year when the man from Valencia said this he would play the second team against them both every time as a protest at the way they have the TV money carved up. The authorities stepped in but I also recall him saying that La Liga was the biggest pile of shit in the footballing world- verbatim.
The word “Sport” does suggest that a degree of competitiveness should be present doesn’t it? But what is happening in Spain is a fiasco. The PL won’t be far behind I imagine if Chelsea and Man City continue to unbalance the whole thing. After all, who wants to have to choose between a bucket of vomit or a shit sandwich every year?
agag, i am sorry, i missed the bit about boo the cutie, i haven’t seen it 🙁
rico, meet Boo
http://www.google.com/search?q=boo+world's+cutest+dog&hl=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=uXYqUMTTH4uqrAeRq4GADQ&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=709
Adam, I saw Boo on tv. Soooo cute. 🙂 🙂 Looks like a plushie.
Hi, Kev. 🙂
Got that piece of the short fuse to give credit where credit is due but thought it was too good not to share
I hope not allez.
But it’s the same every year ;-)…
Adam, i simply couldn’t vernacularize any better.
But not only the crooked TV agreement they have in Spain, but the utterly disreputable manner in which the Spanish Government/tax authorities, subsidise them.
He looks sweet but kind of bizarre…
He’s not the cutest though, the cutest is right by my side on the sofa…. 😉
https://twitter.com/GlenRossiter/status/235415669397663744/photo/1
Love That Picture…. 😛
Spain is going down… It’s ridiculous how the government is financing the clbs; or why they are even granted loans. Barca, allegedly a big club, couldn’t even pay its players wages on time in 2010. Pathetic.
He looks strange because of his hairdo, rico. Boo’s a pom but looks like a chow. His hair got all knotted at some point, it had to be shaved. 😀 😀 Lol.
I love that photo Kev. I think the Mancs are grasping at straws. Ordinariness is staring them in the face and they are so ridden with debt; they’re just pitiable.
‘After all, who wants to have to choose between a bucket of vomit or a shit sandwich every year’?
😆
Kev, they’d only claim on the insurance and build bigger….
His is cute agag, looks just like a little soft toy though…
Vernacularize, where did that come from kev ?
Haha Micko…
My dear old mate Dick Sion Arry.
Looks high maintenance, eh, rico?? 😛
Micko, Kev was also playing pharmacist/doctor earlier today. 😀 😀
Sure does agag 😉
Agag, don’t ever get him started on Farmer Giles.
Farmer Giles, what’s wrong with him 😉
Off for a bite to eat….
I’ve just seen this comment somewhere:
I am astounded that van Persie has expressed (if he has) his desire to join United.
How much of an unfeeling, uncaring, callous, heartless money (or medal, doesnt matter) grabber he must be to do this?
The club that made you does not matter. The medical staff who kept getting you back on the playing field when you repeatedly broke down do not matter. The groundsman who let your grandfather onto the pitch because hey, he’s Robin’s granddad and we can surely make an exception does not matter. The manager who believed that you can play lone upfront striker and turned you into the world’s best when you yourself did not believe it, and stood by you for eight long years waiting for you to come good while you were on the treatment table does not matter. Heck, the words of your parents who said you will not join an English club do not matter. The words of your wife who said you wouldn’t leave London do not matter.
All that matters today Robin is your greed. Go then, for we the Arsenal fans, the manager, the club, the groundsman, the tea lady, even the concrete of our stadium and the plastic seats deserve better. We deserve better than a self centred, uncaring, ingratiate ego maniac even if he happens to be a world class footballer with not a replacement in sight that money could buy. Go Robin. Make your money. Win your medals. We will live with our disappointment and our anguish. It is the lot of those that try and follow the right path. It has always been. We can take it.
KT, the tea-lady stopped giving him sugar weeks ago.
I still haven’t given up hope.
Micko am trying to hope but …
No matter what there is no way we should sell him to them.if the roles were reversed do you think red nose would give in?…NO.he would threaten to resign if it came to that.
I still can’t believe he is really thinking of doing this to us!!!We are never ging to hear the end of it and every year our best player will be poached by those vultures.
I’ve given up hope……
Rvp spotted with Anderson…
https://p.twimg.com/A0QxddmCcAA1oQO.jpg
KT, a lot can happen between now and the end of the month, if he does end up at Manchester I really couldn’t give a rats arse, we’ve brought in two quality strikers both biting at the bit, ready to kick arse.
As long as they pay two plus Poldi’s (1 Poldi = 10 million pounds) then he can go, the squad will know where they stand we will know where we stand as well and with the money we can buy a couple of players in. Credit again where credit is due the Poldi as a unit of currency is the invention of the Poznan in my pants blog and greatly simplifies the business of calculating the cost of players in an out and is therefore not only quite amusing but useful at the same time.
In all seriousness though at this point we need a resolution to this situation and one with enough time for us to react and buy in the players we need/want. I am not convinced that even if he stayed that his contribution to the team and the dynamic of the squad would be positive, and with his injury record chances are he wouldn’t stay fit long enough anyway to help.
😆 Kt, that’ll be the snake then ….
It seems to me that we have to acknowledge the fact that ” most” players are employees of the club, no more, no less. What van Persie is doing is merely exercising that right and Arsenal, for their part, are taking advantage of the fact that he is still under contract. The traditional relationship between club, fans and players is almost broken but there will be those players that retain that love for the club and that special feeling for the fans and those are the ones that will take more from their careers and lives than money and there are no pockets in a shroud.
This will certainly have a diluting effect for many fans who could feel that van Persie has, in some way, betrayed them. This won’t be the last time this happens either and the anticipation of the next player to jump ship will not be good for the club. In some ways it is a compliment to Wenger that clubs want to buy the players that he spotted so early. In other ways it is infuriating.
All that really matters in all this is Arsenal and certainly not van Persie. If indeed he does leave, as seems increasingly likely, then what Wenger does with the money will be paramount. He simply has to buy one or two top players otherwise all the impetus and positivity migh fall a bit flat. This of course is exactly what that drink-sodden old git from Old Toilet wants to happen.
If the mancs want Rvp send this guy…

hi guys….wats new? RVP gone ?
ha ha…
Frimponged @Frimponged
Van Gaal says KJH is his preferred striker and says RvP was bad at Euros. So he’s not happy with the direction @Persie_Official is going.

Off for the evening. A very nice evening and a peaceful night to all Gooners.
Nighty Night Adam, you have a good evening and thank you again for today’s post…
I too am off for the day, catch you all tomorrow…
Night all, stay safe….
I think its too late to sell RVP ,unless its for around 30m.there is not enough time to buy another proflic striker. Giroud is said to RVP replacement, but he is most likely with pod going experience a deep in form around christ. this is often the case with new players to epl. Who is going to carry the goal-scoring load? Park or Chamakh
I agree with the earlier comment….Mirallas does have a bit of Henry about his play and the way he finishes. Ship out Bendtner, Park and Chamakh and bring him in. Even if RVP does the dirty and heads up North to join Old Red Nose, with Mirallas in the squad we would still have awesome attacking options. He looks like he could easily play out wide also. Perfect AW signing. Would rather spend the £130K per week and £5m up front loyalty (snigger) payment on young hungry players, than RVP who has shown no class and can quite frankly foxtrot oscar to wherever. Is it just me or do you get the feeling that after all this, he’s going to get injured and miss a large chunk of the season anyway?!
Vida, sorry, but how could you want a player at the club who doesn’t want to be there??
Spot on Kingston, lets just hope he don’t get injured on international duty and stuff up a transfer then we stuck with him…!
Plenty quality players out there to replace him and already we’ve bought three, sell more deadwood and add 2 more quality and we ready to kick arse..!
