Alexis back, Santi out and Ozil close, very close to signing on the dotted line..

Morning all.

Many of the international fixtures tonight are friendlies with just Ospina and Alexis competing in a WC qualifier and as we’ve all seen by now, he’s back training and expected to start for Chile. Fingers and toes crossed for 90 minutes! Elneny, Xhaka, Ramsey and Iwobi are all back in London, or they should be as their respective countries only played the one fixture, Bellerin is back too but there’s been nothing official from the club about his injury. Rob Holding is back too as the England under 21’s played their final fixture last night, a 3-2 loss in France.

I don’t know why but these two weekly breaks seem to get longer and longer to get through, not that the fixture against the Mancs needs to come any quicker. I’m dreading it to be honest. A blend of a Saturday lunchtime kick-off and the pygmy doesn’t sit well for me. Andre Marriner is the referee for this match and it’s the first time he’s officiated a fixture involving Arsenal this season.

According to reports in the Mirror, over the last week or so, Arsenal have been in talks with the representatives of Mesut Ozil and a deal worth £200,000 a week is close to being agreed which if true, is fantastic news. I’m convinced that if he signs, Alexis Sanchez will soon follow suit, after all, who wouldn’t want to be in the same team as the German maestro who is in great form?

Sir Bobby has been talking to the Arsenal Player about Mesut:

Something has clicked. What’s happened in the head is like a click because he’s scored a lot of goals. This is a difference between the last season with Mesut Ozil and now because he’s thinking just for himself and sometimes when you are in front of the target it is very important to score a goal.

Mesut Ozil has very good qualities, he can normally score a minimum of 12 goals during the Premier League so in my time the maestro was Dennis Bergkamp, and now it is Mesut Ozil. I love them both because they play very good football but they play for the team. Not for himself, they play for the team. This point is very important for the future and of course for Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez has also been talking to the official website about his new role within the team, and it’s one he likes:

I like it as a centre forward because I can get involved in the play more. I have the chance to drop deep a little bit more and that means I can link up with my team-mates more.

[The manager] is the one who decides, he’s the one who changes things around and decides where we play. He asked me to play there so I said fine – I looked up some videos on the internet to see how I needed to adjust my movement and I’ve been adapting since then.

‘Looked up some videos on the internet’? That made me chuckle but I do hope he watched clips of how Thierry Henry adapted to his central role under Arsene Wenger because perhaps there’s not a better example out there. Whoever he’s watching, it’s working isn’t it?

Just hope he and all other Arsenal players involved in matches tonight get through unscathed as we need them for the trip to Old Trafford. Apparently Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for this one and unless the Bellerin injury rumours are false, he too will sit this one out…

Have a good day guys…..

That means La Monseur will stay too? I think that was the deal maker for Ozil.

But Fergie promised Van Persie he’ll stay too 🙂 . The pink Scott is really a man of his word :p

Injuries? Manure? Depth of squad? Depression? …………November!

What is the actual date for ‘Groundhog day’?

We really ought to beat manure on Saturday despite all the stars not being in our favour. Under the Pygmy they have not improved one iota, as a team, from last year. Mind you we lost that game…..act of god? This year’s manure side has a couple of new players who are supposed to be world class, will they make a difference? Perhaps, but I still think we should win, with or without our star players, the second string are not far behind their elders and betters!

    Morning Rico and all.

We sure did! It didn’t end well either did it?!!

Manchester? Mid-day? Malevolent microbes! Miniscule manager! Mother of…..it’s not looking good is it?

But on the positive side, it will be another game out of the way, on our relentless journey towards the prestigious 4th place award!

I don’t believe a word of it.”Ozil will only stay if Wenger stays,” Oh Blimey that’s all we need.

Should have got Klopp 2 years ago.Now that’s what i call a motivator and good morning Rico and akll.

Is it good to play mourinho when things aren’t that good for him.My heart wants us to win desperately but my head says otherwise.

  5. Obi says:

The story is consistent regarding Ozil with AW. I watch an interview with Ozil about a year ago where he said he “chose Arsenal because he wants to work with the manager”, and even before Madrid he almost came to Arsenal. He further said that when he decided to go to Madrid he call AW to thank him for several conversations they had. I guess he really meant it.

Btw off topic – Arsenal scouting department is something else. For 2 years they scouted Mousse Dembele when he was at Fulham didn’t buy the kid. Celtics buys him for 500,000 and now they are sending scouts to watch him yet again, wow.

  6. rico says:

That’s Arsenal all over Obi re Dembele, many other clubs are watching him too I read…

I still think we missed a trick not getting the Dutch defender from Celtic when we had the chance, think he’s at Southampton now….

  7. allezkev says:

Its all good Rico, everything is sorted at home now.
I’ll send you a couple of pics, but it’s very comfortable…

  8. Marshall says:

    Morning all.
Most fans were afraid of the ‘suicidal’ mission Chile were undertaking in keeping Sanchez but you got to understand he’s as much a key player to them as he is to us. Played 84 mins, scored two goals and will fly back all with a ‘low grade’ ham… nervy

  9. rico says:

Tough decision to make Marshall. I guess the medical team will be glad to get their hands on him…

Morning Adam, if he’s fit, it’s great news…
