Adams needs to shut up & is Dowd on an Arsenal mission…..

Morning Gooners,

According to some of the comments prior to the West Ham game, many felt that we would or could come unstuck but it seems that Wenger and the squad felt differently.

After going 1-0 down from an outstanding goal by Diame, against the run of play, Arsenal just took it in their stride and carried on doing what they were doing prior to the goal and that was, total possession.

Santi Cazorla bossed the midfield his usual style of football which is clearly well suited to the way we play.

Wenger has again found a round peg that fits well into a round hole. Oliver Giroud has at last scored his first goal for us after many attempts, he had no time what so ever to think about it prior to toeing it past the hapless keeper, maybe now the monkey is off his back he can now build his future with us.

Although I don’t think its fair on players who have an off day to criticise them too much, but Gervinho had one of his worst afternoons since he joined us. He seemed to have his mind on something other than football, perhaps he was wondering where the manager wants him to play, having played centrally with great effect. Playing wider on Saturday may have put him out of sorts and maybe he needs to know exactly what his role is before we start to see him at his best.

Many have said that Gervinho is a genius on the pitch, Hazard, his ex Lille team-mate has said he felt that Gervinho was the best player he has ever worked with, I on the other hand feel that Hazard may just be sucking up to his old mate. I have listened to many supporters rave about him, how he battles, fights to win the ball back and like a dog with a rag, he is very hard to shrug off!

I am of the opinion that he often tries to do to much and when he loses the ball, he should make a bit more effort to get it back. Many a time I feel a quick pass would be more beneficial than trying to dribble round three players.

Although I am against criticising players I make exception to referee’s and Phil Dowd in particular!

One of our regular posters here revealed some statistics recently which suggests that the FA have an agenda when it comes to Dowd and Arsenal. Whether that is true or not I will leave you to ponder over but I would say that some of his decisions were very hard to understand on Saturday.

He booked Diami for over celebrating with the fans but failed to caution him for a terrible tackle on Arteta which was a very strange decision and when a TV pundit/commentator suggests that the foul was a definite bookable offence you know it must be bad. The same pundit/commentator went onto say that had Diame not already been booked, he would certainly have been booked for that foul.

That statement is totally wrong. A foul is a foul, a booking is a booking, regardless of what has gone on previously, Diame should have booked a second time and been given his marching orders! Dowd obviously didn’t want to hand us an advantage did he?

Dowd also missed a trip on Ramsey just on the edge of the box he just waved play on but he didn’t miss a little tackle from Gervinho and his book was out doubly quick for that one!

Its been said that Alex Ferguson is not that keen on Dowds refereeing abilities so he very seldom officiates and Manchester United fixtures which suggests that Fergie is running the FA as well.

As I said in my last post, I feel we have the making of a squad that can win something this season. I also said that we have some fine players who are starting to gel and after this game we gelled a little bit more.

I said we would inflict pain on others and West Ham were the one’s to feel that pain.

Alladyce had to admit after the game that this Arsenal team were very good which must have hurt him but it’s true.

As we progress and inflict more pain on sides, that is when some of our doubters will start to believe again that we can win things.

I have no doubts and I don’t care what the great legend Tony Adams says about how we will fall short yet again. Maybe he too has an agenda but I couldn’t care less.  Adams also said that Steve Bould’s job will just keep getting harder but my advice to Tony is to keep his mouth shut, Steve Bould is doing a wonderful job he is after all an Arsenal man through and through and were used to taking knocks.

We are The Arsenal and were going to do an Arnie.

We’ll be back !!!

And that moment gets nearer every day COYG’s

    Morning all..

Good post Steve, be prepared for a knocking over Gerv, but not by me 😉

Dowd is a plank, a shocking ref who must be soon due to retire, roll on that day I say..

Pardew is calling for the you know who incident to be reviewed, let’s see Webb wriggle out of that one….

  2. devilgunner says:

Good Morning my Esteemed Fellow Gunners.

Nice post Sir SP. I agree with everything especially the points about Dowd.

Incidentally that is how I like it……….everyone against us. yes sometimes even the Arsene Haters. Then when a cup or two come our way we can take double pleasure in ramming it down their throats.

  3. Lewis says:

    Morning all.

Great result on Saturday, was very impressed with our battling qualities and slick pass and move. If we can keep Santi fit all season we’ll be in for some more amazing performances, he totally bossed that game start to finish.

Didn’t see the utd game Rico, howard webb reffing a utd game, and decisions went utd’s way, shocker! what happened?

  4. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

    Good post SP….

I agree on most of your comments on Kouassi bar his team effort.

Many people including sky pundits slagged him off for the goal we conceded against the greeks but I think they were completely wrong as usual. My reason is that, first and foremost he was playing as a striker whilst the Ox was meant to be playing on the RHS. The fact that he worked hard enough to track back should be commended. Saying that he should /could have done better to attempt to close down the greek player…

  5. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

On Dowd well that is a different topic…

There must be a serious medical reason behind is gut getting bigger and bigger even though he is meant to be a fit professional referee.
He must be wearing a prosthetic suit ….. lol

Like I have said previously, he covers less ground than both goalies put together. He is a flipping biased joke..

  6. devilgunner says:

That should mean more time on HH for you then Lewis!!!! 😉

    Good

Rico……..Gerv did well enough to get back, plus the Ox, however as I said a few days ago Jenks is blameless since he did the required action according to the situation.

  7. rico says:

I hate these breaks too – boring and all we do is sit hoping that no-one gets injured…

Has to be his last season surely, how old is he now?

  8. devilgunner says:

And for anyone daring to criticize Jenks and Gibbs, well………..permission from ME is required. Understand folks????

    🙂

  9. TT says:

There will be no action taken against RvP. He has cast iron proof that it was not him that elbowed the Newcastle player but a little boy that resides inside him…..

  10. rico says:

RvP elbowed Cabaye in the face Lewis, off the ball. RvP looked at him before doing it too, deliberate definitely. Newcastle also had a goal not given as it didn’t cross the line but even Fergie said, had that been scored by them, he’d have been very disappointed had it not been given…

    Looked over to me..

  11. rico says:

TT – not sure he’ll get away with this one, even Sky Sports are showing it over and over.

Think they have forgotten he doesn’t play for Arsenal any more??

  12. bondex says:

great post steve P……can we all please just ignore T A., he is getting really close to being classed in the same section as adeBADyor in my book of STUPID ARSENAL EX PLAYERS…..

  13. Lewis says:

Indeed DG! Hopefully gibbo’s injury is just a knock and he gets a 2 week break before lining up against Norwich.

    Jack in action tonight?

  14. Precious Odem says:

I seriously don’t like reading from a certain Tony Adams, who thinks himself an Arsenal ‘legend’ who may want to (in his illusive dreams) manage the team someday. First he said, Wenger should not have sold RVP and Song as if, Arsenal or Wenger just decided to show-glassed Rvp and A.Song and placed ‘for Sale’ tag on them. These players wanted to leave and you dont force a player to play for you. The first prerequisite of any performer is d love of incumbebt company before any other thing. Secondly, Mr. Adams went on to say, ‘Arenal will fall short again’. I just think, Tony Adams is just extraying in great generosity why his Managerial ability failed with Pousthmoun FC. He sure lacks analytic abilities and do not as a matter of truth believes in the optimism of Arsenal and thus cannot be said to be an Arsenal fan let alone legend. He should shut his mouth and look for a job and concentrate on whatever job he is doing and quit talking about Arsenal for good. He is a poor football analyst and a terrible thinker in my judgement. And if he is made to sit on the bench at Arsenal anyday, then it would be a huge mistake on the part of the Board. If i can see and read better judgement to issues from a distant (Nigeria) than Adams who stays in London or close to the UK then he is sure a poor articulator.

  15. Lewis says:

Nice one. Is Sagan going to get back in the team though?! Great to have some genuine competition for places. Can’t remember the last time we had that.

  16. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

I am not sure that will be good time to play Norwich away . It would have less players on international duty and a 2 week break to practice whilst we lose most our top players to other national teams.

It will be good to get Frimps, sagna at least ready for first team action.

  17. bondex says:

hello Rico great weekend ? ….. does it truly matter if he misses the game against us?…lewis i agree with you he changed under AW but it looks like that habit is coming back gradually with rednose fuelling it.

  18. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

    A manure match being banned…?

The most dirtest Utd player Roy Keane always escape FA charges whilst PV4 was always receiving 2 yellow cards…

  19. JW says:

    Hi every one,

I missed the entire weekend as I was in hospital being treated for the heart attack that I suffered on Thursday, recovery was hastened by the revitalising news of Arsenals win against the Hammers. I’m home now and looking forward to reading the excellent posts and perspicacious comments on HH.

    Keep up the good work.

  20. rico says:

    Wouldn’t be surprised devil…

Tsgh, we will be fine, players will have a few days together before going up there… Just pray no injuries though..

    bondex, yes thanks, you?

  21. rico says:

Bloomin heck JW, that’s a bit of a shocker to hear, glad you are home and well…

No more of those lovely walks for a while, you rest and do what the dr has told you…

  22. Lewis says:

Top comments on HH as well JW. Tis a great blog, I try to start everyday with it. The only bad thing about HH is the effect it has on my work productivity.

  23. JW says:

Thank’s for the good wishes all of you,

I stupidly spent four hours cutting the top three feet off of a twenty foot long Leylandii hedge and if it wasn’t for the prompt arrival of a very skilled paramedic I would have been a Gonner not a Gooner.

The treatment in hospital was absolutely first class and I’m assured that I can lead a very near to normal life.

Rico I shall be off out for a few hundred yards walk shortly, then back home to read the rest of the Arsenal reports on the web.

    TT 🙂

  24. devilgunner says:

goody to hear that. hopefully he will appeal and the FA decide to extend the ban for 6 matches. AS IFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!! 🙁

  25. rico says:

You just take it steady JW, and want you on here each morning even if it’s just to say hello and let us all know you are fit and well….

  26. devilgunner says:

JW……….that was a small warning by your body . be careful now mate. drink as much as you can, walk as much as you can, take good notice of what your body tells you as much as you can, and rest as much as you can.

Hope that Thursday’s experience will soon be a distant memory one day………and that you will be well and truly recovered.

  27. martin wengrow says:

Ferguson says he would have been disappointed if the disallowed goal from Newcastle had been against his side. Of course had it been the other way round we all know that the goal would have been given!

  28. rico says:

Of course it would mw, you are right…

JW, maybe a good time to sit quietly and write a post for HH 😉 😉

  29. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Has any one heard of or seen Niall Keown play?

I was wondering if he was decent enough to play for us in future..?

  30. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Just got back from the Dentist one out two filled, i feel like a bloody hamster.
JW sorry to hear your latest news, kinda brings home that football is not quite so important sometimes. Get well soon mate and you take it easy make the old woman run about a bit 🙂 Thanks for your comments and a special thanks goes to the special lady of the house 🙂 I read in the paper that Wenger has said that Santi Cazorla reminds him of Glen Hoddle sorry Arsene cant see it myself Cazorla is much better.

  31. devilgunner says:

That fact that Hoddle used to play for the spuds already makes him a notch or two under Caz the Gazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! 🙂

But both he and Arteta should have been bought a year earlier. Surely AW knows enough to realise that Arteta is superior to Song.

Some players are born to play for Arsenal…….Arteta and Podolski are two of those. Just like big SOL was.

  32. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Devil, Arsene moves in mysterious ways, must have a reason for saying that if you ask me, but i bet a penny to a bag of shit, Hoddle will now start saying how good Santi is.

  33. devilgunner says:

Women’s Super League champions Arsenal finished the season unbeaten as they drew 1-1 at Birmingham City on the last day of the campaign.
The point for the Blues meant they clinched second place to join Arsenal in next season’s Champions League.
Everton claimed third with a 1-0 win against fourth-placed Bristol Academy, while Lincoln beat Chelsea 3-2 to leap-frog their opponents into fifth place.
Liverpool finished bottom after losing 2-0 to Doncaster Belles.
    Birmingham City 1-1 Arsenal
Arsenal had to come from behind at Birmingham to ensure they finished the season unbeaten.
Striker Eni Aluko and left-back Kerys Harrop both went close as Birmingham edged possession in the first half, and they deservedly went ahead 12 minutes before half-time through Emily Simkins as the midfielder coolly tucked a 15-yard shot into the bottom corner of the net.
But Arsenal drew level four minutes into the second half as striker Ellen White produced a neat finish from just inside the penalty area.
Former Gunners goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer then denied the champions victory with excellent saves from midfielder Kim Little and right-back Alex Scott.
The two teams will now reconvene on Wednesday for the Continental Cup final, in which Blues will be seeking revenge for last year’s final defeat by Arsenal.

  34. brian says:

Unfortunately Man Utd are still in the League cup so this will count as one of the three I think so he will play against us unless hopefully he gets crocked on International duty.
Incidentally remember the so called magnificent fight back by Newcastle from 4 nil down a few seasons ago.Well this was largely orchestrated by two very soft penalties given against us by————-
    Phil Dowd.

  35. Potter says:

Jw, Happened to me the day after Eboue gave away that penalty against the scousers. I still blame him. Any stents ? I had two. Just do what they tell you , do the exercises , and don’t sit around too much ,you got to keep your heart working it’s a muscle and needs exercise. Also cut out red meat eat chicken and turkey and you will be fine.

  36. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

SP1- Glenda rates SC19 very highly.. in fact he was the only one who seemed to say a few good things about SC19 before he ever kicked a ball for us in anger. The rest were going on about how he just had over 40 caps for Spain. And that he going to be a bad buy because he was not playing instead of Iniesta, like any England play would….

Graeme Sounness was the first to make that comparison last wednesday when he was in the studio with Glenda. Glendas head swelled a size or too afterwards.lol

  37. devilgunner says:

Arteta has never played for Spain TSGH, and he is by far a better FOOTBALLER (again I repeat…..FOOTBALLER) than Souness ever was.

  38. devilgunner says:

Glenda was a footballer of the lesser level…….since he used to play for the spuds. Brady was of the upper echelon because he played for AFC.

  39. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Souness is a miserable man. MA08 played several times for spain U21’s its a shame he is deemed not good enough for Spain. Didn’t The FA try to get him to represent our national team last year or the year before?

  40. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Ginger hater, i stand corrected 🙂 Wenger has his eye on the ball, i reckon he knows when were winning no one wants to talk about us is he working a flanker on them i wonder.

  41. rico says:

    Hi Steve – ouch!!

Santi = Hoddle – like heck does he, Santi is unique, he is simply Santi

    A song for Santi:

    With a C and A a Z O, R,L, A

    That’s CAZORLA 🙂

    To this tune 🙂

  42. devilgunner says:

The problem with pundits is the majority of them are all ex players with an agenda which clouds their opinion and judgement. And that is why there are so many anti-AFC on the screen. For the simple reason that all of them have past scores to settle.

Do you honestly think that Souness will ever forget 1989?

Do you honestly think that Lineker will forgive the 19 seasons AFC have spent above Tottenham?

Do you honestly expect ex Manure/Dippers/Spuds players to forget the fact that we won the league in their own backyard and paraded the trophy in front of them?

  43. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Hi Steve its is an excellent post…

AW is hater because he is more clever than most other managers…

The snobby Journos always asks him only on his views on other topics apart from football. Imagine asking Harry brown envelope on his view on Syria or the budget…?lol

Harry’s responds will be something like ‘my wife deals with such things.’lol

  44. devilgunner says:

Good thing they do not ask Harry questions on the NHS TSGH!!! Imagine him coming out with the “my wife deals with such things”

    LOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL

    😆

  45. rico says:

Potter, I know I shouldn’t laugh, but your comment on Eboue made me… Glad you are all fit and well now though….

  46. Potter says:

Rico :- I am away for a few days . Can you pass my message to JW. in case he doesn’t read it on here. Thanks.

  47. Scott from Oz says:

I want RVP to play……no excuses for those bastards when we give them a touch up!!
Have no fear,Utd are not a Great side.
Two goals off set pieces, and from defenders, and a fluky cross gone wrong…….this from a side that spent 24 million on a 29 year old striker??
    They can’t defend either.
I will be very surprised if we don’t roll them, with or without that ex prick of ours!!

  48. devilgunner says:

The ref Scott. Take into consideration the ref mate. if we have a foreign ref then it will be easier for us. but if we get an English referee we will be playing against 16 players.

  49. Micko says:

    Afternoon all,
Good to hear your ok JW, put your feet up and leave the laylandii’s to the professionals from now on, that’s what I do.
Not gonna be too harsh on Gervinho but he does seem to have a touch of the Shaun Wright Phillips about him, a player we were favorites to sign until Chelsea bid really silly money for, capable of brilliant goals one week and glaring misses the next, needs to find that consistency.
Cazorla was phenomenal, his reverse pass for the second goal was unreal, took out the whole midfield in one fell swoop, his goal weren’t too bad either.
Walcott changed the game when he came on, just needs to start using his head now and sign the contract.

  50. rico says:

Afternoon Micko, have to agree with all that..

That’s why I keep going on about Theo and he must stay, imagine seeing him do that each week but for another club or against us…

    Ouch…

  51. Scott from Oz says:

There are more referees i DON’T want than there are i Do want to see us play under.
    It’s an ordinary situation.

  52. devilgunner says:

I agree Rico……but he needs to put his head down and start concentrating now. He is no longer a young one on the late teenage years. He is on the verge of seniority in the team now. He has to be a role model for those coming through and must accept his responsabilities.

That is why I am one of his critics, yet at the same time my judgement on him pains me. For the simple reason that I know that somewhere he is a good player, but his head is not there fully 100%.

  53. Scott from Oz says:

Rico,i reckon we’d all love to see Theo stay, but just play and stop talking about positions etc, etc.
He was dynamite when he came on,and always has an impact against tired legs……why not continue to use him that way for the benefit of everyone?
Theo needs to realise this as well though.

  54. rico says:

I’m not sure WH were tired Scott, not one bit, they were still moving the ball at pace when Theo came on. I don’t believe for one minute he scored just because they were tired…

  55. devilgunner says:

I am off now Esteemed Gunners.

Will see you later on maybe. Depends on how training goes today.

    off now.

  56. Scott from Oz says:

Rico,no need to be so defensive!
Where did say he ONLY scored because they were tired???
I said the guy was dynamic……hardly a slur against his performance.

  57. Micko says:

It was a very cool finish rico, had to laugh at Stewart Robson, couldn’t really bring himself to say what a good goal it was so just slagged him off for getting carded on his goal crowd celebrations, you could se what it meant to him.
You mentioned Suarez earlier, did you see Bale’s dive yesterday, comical, don’t think he even got a yellow for it either.

  58. stevepalmer1 says:

I think you may be right there Rico but when he starts for us some full backs intimidate him into a shrinking violet, when he can do it for ninety minutes he will be a starter every game

  59. rico says:

I’m not being defensive Scott, just don’t think WH were tired….

Micko, Gallagher was talking about that this morning, he thought both Bale and Suarez dives were shocking and hinted the FA might look at them…

  60. rico says:

I’m not denying that either Steve, but this season, we don’t really know where his game is and we can only judge him, and every other player on the last game they have played.

Against WH he changed the game and got us three points…

  61. Scott from Oz says:

Theos biggest asset will always be his speed, and that asset will always be accentuated against tired legs. When he starts a game, and plays against fresh opponents,he isn’t as effective imo.
There isn’t a player around who isn’t feeling fatigued after an hours play.

  62. rico says:

Well, on Saturday he showed that he can make good runs into great positions also, his run off the ball helped Santi too for his goal.

I disagree about feeling fatigued after 60 mins, they are fit athletes who can perform at that level for a lot longer than 60 mins, and lets not forget they are not continually running..

We’ll have to agree to differ Scott 😉

  63. Scott from Oz says:

Rico,i give Theo the utmost respect and credit for his performance, and am not trying to take anything away from it.
I’m merely suggesting that, imo, that is the best way to utilise him on a weekly basis.

  64. stevepalmer1 says:

To be quite honest whether he starts or comes on halfway through a game he is faster than most players so tired or not Theo still has the pace to beat them, Theo’s problems stead from himself he has to put more effort in and pace himself , i have no doubts that Theo could play all day long and then sprint against any of them at the end and win, he has to work out what he wants and where he goes as i don’t believe Wenger will put him ahead of Giroud.

  65. bondex says:

TW14 looks like he’ll score whenever he comes on now…generally, the outlook of the team is better. We have kos on the bench sagna’s on his way back..it will all come together very soon and by January we will be at the top.Once wilshere gets into full stride, resting/subing cazorla wont look like a mistake.

  66. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, that is why i said his asset of speed is accentuated against tired legs.
The advantage is always there,no doubt.

  67. rico says:

I agree he has to put more effort in Steve and of a regular basis, but then imho, so do a few others in our side…

  68. rico says:

What a bloody joke, if the ref didn’t see it, then more reason the FA should view it…

Typical Webb and the Manc cheats….

Justice will done, maybe on international duty…..

  69. bondex says:

where did you read that scott? we all knew deep in our hearts that rednose would have had something to say to the FA about the issue.

  70. JW says:

    Potter,

Thank’s for the advice, I thought for a moment you said cut out the red wine, I do love a nice ribeye steak and I guess I can cut down on that but life without a full bodied burgundy? Oh dear! Oh dear ! Oh dear!. 🙂

Anyone have any news about Gibb’s injury?

Cashley has been charged by the FA with misconduct so will probably not be selected for the San Marino game which may encourage Hodgson to play Gibbs if he is fit enough. Give the boy a rest, say I.

Rico, I’ll think about a post, but not for a few weeks though.

  71. rico says:

Wayne Rooney got away with the same last season when he elbowed Wigan’s James McCarthy, wonder who was the ref that day….

  72. rico says:

JW, was pulling your leg re the post, you need to be doing what the Dr says, not sat on your bott writing 😉

  73. Scott from Oz says:

Bondex,i just got a facebook update.
I can’t say it is gospel, but this info is usually pretty reliable.

  74. Micko says:

rico, the referee saw the incident, thought it wasn’t serious enough to put in his report, RvP was doing that for us every other week.

  75. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Serves Cashley Mole right. He will end up having the same length of punishment as Tom Terry whilst terry will win his appeal and have his suspension reduced.

  76. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

I did not ever believe an important player like ‘you know who’ of manure would be banned especially now that they have become a one man team.

Last year when ‘you know who’ had that spat with Krul, Sky wanted him banned because in their view it would corrupt young kids.

    also Suarez’s dive …jez…

I dont like Poo-list but he is right there. Wasn’t sky one of the reasons why Eduado was sold after the Celtic alleged diving incident.

  77. rico says:

I thought Webb said he didn’t see it Micko, trust Webb to say he did… Oh well, why are we surprised…

Tsgh, you reckon the FA will reduce Terry’s ban, I don’t, has he actually appealed?

Some reckon Cole will never play for England again now, guess he’ll be staying on 98 😉

  78. Bob John says:

Thing is, Cole was right about the FA. They are a bunch of twats who make the X factor look honest!
As for van Pussy, Webb says he saw it. If that’s the case, Webb should be banned for being a biased git But the FA won’t because they are all complicit. Who do you trust when everyone’s a crook?

  79. stevepalmer1 says:

Winning tropies means everybody has to show the desired commitment concentration is imperative Bouldy still has to sort out marking at set peices although i am happy with our back four their marking is suspect. Manone although i believe he has done well needs to comand his box he has what it takes but making little mistakes will undoubtedly see him back on the bench. Every player has to step up their game. I look at the likes of Gibbs and Jenks Sagna will not take likely to sitting on the bench thats a certainty Santos will also want more starts but if these two youngsters keep performing as they are they will be very hard to dislodge. Our midfield will have to perforn well as Jack’s fitness is improving weekly, Ramsey has to sort his defending out his forward runs are good but defending is on the weak side Arteta at the moment is on the teamsheet for every game and should be, his commitment is second to none our little Spanish midfielder is our hub he is involved with everything good at the moment but we will have to leave somebody out at sometime and as we have seen in the past if your not playing regulary you could be sold doubly quick. Problems will come in the future of that i have no doubts but while we have a winning team it would be proffessional suicide to start messing with the team, injury is one thing but change for change’s sake could be our undoing.

  80. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

‘Tom & Jerrry’ is waiting for the write up of the hearing before he appeals. Typical.

I wonder how long it takes someone to write up what has already been said

    Hi Rico and All.

Good read Stevep, especially re Gerv. “I am of the opinion that he often tries to do to much and when he loses the ball, he should make a bit more effort to get it back. Many a time I feel a quick pass would be more beneficial than trying to dribble round three players.”

A simple and quick pass will do instead of taken defenders head on trying to beat them and running at the end of the opponent penalty box and shot the ball at the side netting. Good player but he makes his own undoing sometimes. But, we have to give him credit, he has come a long way as compare to last season.

@TSGH, what really Cashley did this time? Something to do with their last game?

  82. rico says:

So Webb has viewed it and said he wouldn’t have red carded RvP had he seen it

    🙄

Thought the write up had been done for the hearing?

  83. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Has it? You might be right there…my bad.

Webb was never going to change his view on that incident…

Most of the ex-pros came out saying there was nothing in it because in their day that happened every single match day. Of course that is absolute rubbish because an elbow is not even allowed in ‘Aussie rule football’ or MMA as a matter of fact but as we know, its 1 rule for all but different for manure

  84. rico says:

You wouldn’t believe Webb is/was a police sgt would you, you would think he’d have more guts and honesty about him….

    Then again …….

  85. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

As a player he is top notch but as a person I would not comment…

The man has no friends …

Is webb still in the police force? He is as bent as a nine bob note.

He must have done a lot of ass kissing to become a Sarge

  86. rico says:

I’m surprised Ng, I can’t stand the guy, he has said to many things about us to respect him any more….

Nasty piece of work these days…

  87. NashuaGunners says:

Rico. someone has to tell the FA. Why ManU are getting away with so much favors is beyond me. They beat Liverpool twice now by sending a man off. SAF has that much power on the FA?

  88. rico says:

According to Wikki, Webb is police officer with South Yorkshire Police but took a five-year sabbatical leave to concentrate on his refereeing. When he took that sabbatical though, i don’t know…

I guess when he hangs his boots up he’ll go back and finish off to get his pension, unless he has earned enough from the Manchester United payroll over the years….

  89. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

The conspiracy followers have an opinion on that Nash. Him being a knight of the Realm and all.

  90. rico says:

I strongly suspect the FA know what is going on Ng, if there is anything ‘really’ going on, or they are part of it.

The interesting thing is that most of the refs who we see as being biased are mainly from the north of England, no doubt as kids they were all manure supporters…

  91. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

I never knew you could take a 5 -year sabbatical. I bet Red Nose is paying into his pension too. 😉

  92. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

    Good point that…

I thought they were asked what team they supported on their application form or am I being naive here?

  93. rico says:

    Webb – Yorkshire
    Dowd – Staffordshire
    Riley – Yorkshire
    Dean – Wirral
    Clattenberg – Durham

Halsey – Herts – how many times does he get criticised by Fergie I wonder…

  94. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

    ha ha……

very true there and interesting observation at 4:10. You would be a better copper than webb any day…

Did you mention yesterday you tried to be a referee?

  95. NashuaGunners says:

Some will never answer that question with straight face, ‘what team they supported?’ I’m against announcing the referees before the games. It should be a draw two to four hours before the games.

  96. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Does any one feel sorry for Big Ego Bendtner?

He is another numpty who had it all and that he could have a double portion as well. He went from being rated highly by a good manager and an opportunity to se his child every day if he wanted to moving to Turin and playing in the reserves. What an idiot and you would have thought his dad/agent would give him better advice

  97. rico says:

    No Tsgh, not one bit….

People say Theo talks too much, well he’s a church mouse compared to Bendtner 😉

  98. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

He is another player who did not deserve to even get beyond the U18 or even the reserves but had the chance most will take with both hands but he thought he was bigger than the club…

  99. rico says:

Anyone think Mannone should get his new contract, or sell him and Fabianski in January and sign a ‘proper’ keeper…

Friedel didn’t play for the totts yesterday, someone said that was the first PL game he had missed in 8 seasons. If true that is incredible….

  100. rico says:

Always said, if only he was half as good as he thought he was, he’d be a really good player…

Totally agree – all Vela wanted to do was play, but that poor kid never really got his chance…

  101. vida says:

Mannone should not be sold, if there is not a decent replacement.
Other news, Gibbs out of the england side. good to hear. I am sure he will get his chance to shine, but not this time.

Cant wait for my thanksgiving dinner tonight

  102. DutchGooner10 says:

    Afternoon worshipers of Goonerdom,

    Just in from Dutch press;

He who shall not be named, won’t be charged by the FA as they couldn’t find sufficient and conclusive evidence to prosecute him. No mention of a sabbatical ticket writer from Yorkshire missing the incident. It must come down to the Eye of Mordor hanging above FA headquarters, if you ask me.

SP1 great read. My take on Gerv is, he does seem to be allergic – at times – for simple solutions. Subsequently running into a Pac-Man maze looking head down at the dots. Evading the hot pursuit of ghosts.

  103. DutchGooner10 says:

Ohh and leave the heavy dinning for Fat Sam. I’m sure the decimating of large life stock won’t take a blow from your absence. 🙂

  104. DutchGooner10 says:

  108. rico says:

Close for Arsenal! Frimpong releases Santos down the left with a superb pass, and his cross just misses the head of Eisfeld

  109. rico says:

I’m following on afc.com twitter page Tsgh

Ah, not heard of that one Dg, might take a peep at that, very handy, thank you….

  110. rico says:

    Re the goal:

‘That owed a lot to Frimpong who chased down a lost cause on the right, won the ball, passed to Wilshere who slipped it to Eisfeld’

    Good old Frimps…

  111. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

they seem hungry. Adam Morgan of liverpood u21 goal was excellent. their u21’s seem to have a huge crop of talent coming through

  113. rico says:

Think Liverpool need it, they are rubbish this season…

I just had a look Dg, and have bookmarked the page 🙂

Have you seen much of Hajrovic Tsgh?

  114. TalkShiteGingerHater says:

Not this season. I saw him 2 times for the u-18s. He doesnt look like a cb I guess same can be said of miguel. He looks like a RB but very solid

  115. DutchGooner10 says:

    Wilshere impresses for Arsenal U21s

Jack Wilshere stepped up his comeback with a second outing for Arsenal’s Under-21 side.

Wilshere, 20, made a return to match action for the first time in 14 months in Arsenal Under-21s’ 1-0 defeat to West Brom last week – playing 63 minutes.

He came through that game without any adverse reaction and following a full week of training, was again in the side for the U21s’ clash with Reading.

He spent 74 minutes on the field and played a key part as a strong Gunners side won 2-0. Wilshere and Emmanuel Frimpong were involved in a flowing move that resulted in German teenager Serge Gnabryopening thescoring on 42minutes.

In front of manager Arsene Wenger, the second Arsenal goal came shortly before the hour, with a Wilshere corner being nodded home by Chuba Akpom.

Wilshere felt his way back into action against West Brom, but he was far more involved against the Royals. His movement was slick and distribution crisp.

Frimpong got through the full match, while on a hugely positive night for Arsenal – full back Bacary Sagna came through an hour on his first appearance since breaking a leg last season.

  116. allezkev says:

    Great news Dutch.
Akpom is a very promising striker.
    Still only 16/17.
Gnabry will get a few more outings in the 1st team this season.
Eisfeld, Grabry, Siemann, three young German’s coming through the Academy…

  117. rico says:

    Morning all…

Great news re Sagna, Jack and Frimps….

Qpr are lining up ‘Arry to take over from Mark Hughes, deep joy!
