Morning all.

Well well, was that good or was that good?

What a way for Aaron Ramsey to mark his return to Cardiff by scoring two goals and no running up the pitch to celebrate either. No, because he’s a good guy unlike some we have seen behaving badly when they score against their old club.

The respect he showed his old club earned nothing but applause from the home fans, leaving Arsene Wenger surprised:

Fantastic.

You would like to see that more and I have a big respect for that. They are proud to be Welsh here, you know.

He was also full of praise for our Welsh midfielder:

He can defend, he can attack, he can score goals and he’s young. What more do you want?

More of the same Arsene, that’s all we want and I suspect we’ll get it too.

Malky Mackay spoke about Aaron Ramsey too:

He’s a class act.

Right now Arsenal fans could go on and on about the way Ramsey is playing, he really is on fire but Arsenal are not all about one man’s performances because right now we have many players who are playing very very well….

The saveΒ WojciechΒ Szczesny made a 1-0 was superb and the crosses from Ozil for the first two goals were pinpoint. Great stuff eh. Oh, and the pass from Theo Walcott wasn’t too bad either… πŸ˜‰

Jack Wilshere nearly repeated what he did on Tuesday by kicking us off with an early goal but his curling effort from 25 yards out hit the top right hand corner of the woodwork. That would have been a stunner!

Then there was heart in mouth moment asΒ Bacary SagnaΒ andΒ Per MertesackerΒ clashed heads. The big fella had to leave the pitch for a while and it did look like game over for him but after a bit of treatment he was deemed fit and healthy enough to continue.

We nearly conceded soon after whenΒ Kevin Theophile-Catherine (what a name) whipped in a cross from the right which Frazer Campbell got his head to but somehow, headed wide.

Olivier Giroud was the next up to have a chance and when he watches this played back he’ll want to hide behind the nearest cushion! Play to the whistle was the only lesson to be learned from that piece of play.

Then we did break the deadlock, Mesut Ozil supplied yet another wonderful cross into the box and Aaron Ramsey did the rest with his head, yes, his head and it was far from an easy finish either! Nothing from him, nothing at all, all he did was turn and head back into his own half for the restart.

Both Giroud and Ramsey had a chance a piece to put us further ahead but one saw his shot go wide thanks to a deflection, the other blasted wide.Β

Right after the break, our big French striker had another chance from a Ramsey pass but it wasn’t his day.

Next up was the wonder save by Szczesny. Taylor played in the cross and Kieran Gibbs was beaten in the air by Campbell but our young Pole, who gets better each game, pushed the ball away.

Cardiff raised their game but there was no way through to grab an equaliser.

Wenger made the changes, no doubt he had only one thing in mind as Mathieu Flamini came on for Santi Cazorla and that was to defend our lead.Β Instead though, what he did was bring on the player to pretty much put the game to bed as Flamini blasted home our second from inside the penalty area. Another superb pass, another superb finish. Maybe the Ozil critics will get off of his back soon!Β

There was only one way for Arsenal to finish the game off.

Theo Walcott came on in place of Ozil Β during injury time and had a chance to take a shot. He looked as if he might take the chance but instead, chose to play the ball square to Ramsey and he did the rest. The ball wasn’t the best as it was bouncing but the mood Ramsey was in saw him take a touch to control the ball before firing home.

No celebration again.

However, the away fans celebrated loud and proud and rightly so.

Arsene was certainly happy after the game:

I’m very pleased because we had a good performance. Of course we scored three goals but, not only offensively, I think defensively we were quite sound as well. Our defenders had a very good game.

Overall the concentration level in the team was very, very good. That was needed because we knew Cardiff can punish you in set-pieces with their strengths in the challenges and their drive with the crowd behind them. We had a mature performance and a focused one.

Other clubs have been to Cardiff and failed so we should be proud of the team and they should be proud of themselves.

Next up for us is a home fixture against Hull City on Wednesday night….

Have a good day all….
