‘Twas the Season…

Morning guys.

Arsenal Football Club have announced that our 2026 Christmas campaign, ’Twas the Season” has come to life with a special festive film. Inspired by a season and a moment our supporters waited 22 years for, our new festive film draws on the joy and emotion of our celebrations in May, carrying that feeling into Christmas and celebrating the moments that mean even more when we share them together. The film stars Colin Firth, Academy Award-winning actor and Arsenal supporter, as well as Alessia Russo, Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel, and hundreds of supporters.

I think it’s brilliant that Colin Firth is involved. Ok, it might not be Fever Pitch but back in May it sure felt like it. The streets were red and white, we’d beaten the now found cheating Man City, appeal pending of course, to the title as well as every other club in the League.

I doubt there was an Arsenal around who cared how we’d won the title, especially after a season ravaged by injuries. The fit players dug in, they fought hard for each other as well as the fans and as knackered as many of them might have been, they didn’t give up. When Declan Rice said “it’s not done” he meant it and he was right.

Yes, we all have a moan and groan about our style of football at times, wishing Mike’s Arteta would focus as much on attack as he does defence but the one thing he can never be criticised for is the way he’s brought the fans and club back together again. Fans never leave of course but my goodness, what a mess the Spaniard walked into when he replaced Unai Emery. Not that I portion much blame on the Villa manager because just as Arteta needed when he arrived, Emery needed a board who backed him and in my opinion, only one of the two Spaniards got that.

This season we’ve started well again, we’ve also had a few injuries too, the worst in my opinion was losing William Saliba as well as Jurrien Timber. Then it was our new signing Christos Tzolis and latterly Bukayo Saka. But then up has stepped Ebb Eze and Noni Madueke, both who have had niggling injuries and I think it’s fair to say, they’ve been good. Madueke especially who seems to have finally accepted that he has to do a bit of defending every now and again. Viktor Gyokeres was in fine form in midweek too and if Arteta selects his team tomorrow based on form alone, surely he’ll start tomorrow against Hull City although I suspect it’ll be Kai Havertz if he’s fit.

But to end where I started, with the Arsenal Christmas campaign, there is a serious side to it which is about what the club does away from the pitch and their community work in North London. Work which includes visits to local hospitals, a lunch for care leavers on Christmas Day and an ongoing match-day mental drop-in support as part of the Premier League’s Together Against Suicide campaign. The club have also launched their own Christmas card with the money raised will go towards the club’s foundation.

See, we are a good club aren’t we? No, we’re a great club.

Catch up later.

Possibly Arteta has had a word with Tuchel and done a deal . If you take White and 4 others we can keep Madueke this time .
Can’t afford to lose him at the moment .
It is just possible that managers that have been at top clubs are thinking ot of their usual box and are following Klopp’s example
we just need to get Hull out of the way , get the points and hope the others drop some as well.

Good morning Rico, it’s good that the club are working in the local community, I hope the local council are aware of the good works.

Five called up for England duty, White, Ezri, Rice, MLS and Eze.

No doubt Dowman will be in an age group squad.
