Young out of Villa as old one in? One down, fourteen to go and we already have a ‘New Keeper’

So then, sixteen players from our first team squad are on international duty this week. Well, now that number is fifteen as news broke that Jack Wilshere is the first casualty of this farcical week.

Arsenal confirmed yesterday the Wilshere did not train with the England squad and returned to his club. Details of his injury are yet to be confirmed.

So that leaves Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs on England duty tonight as they face a France side which includes Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Sami Nasri. The battle between Clichy and Walcott could be fun, poor Clichy!

The first friendly involving an Arsenal player took place last night as Henri Lansbury turned out for the England under 21s. Not the ideal game for Lansbury, they lost 2-0 to Germany but poor Lansbury found himself in goal for the last half an hour. Having been bought on at half-time, goal-keeper Jason Steele was sent off and Germany were subsequently awarded a penalty. Yep, you guessed it, Lansbury’s first task was to pick the ball out the back of the net! That was the only goal he conceded and went on to make a few good saves including a point-blank header and a six yard volley.

The other fourteen of our players are on duty tonight, my fingers and toes will be crossed that we receive no more bad news relating to injuries, we have a little derby at the weekend…

Talking of injuries, what rotten news for the Chavs? Just after finding out John ‘Thomas’ Terry could be out for months due to a nerve problem, poor old Alex suffers an injury too which could keep him out of the game for up to eight weeks… Oh dear, oh dear….

Anyway, back to us. Sir Bobby Pires is staying in England and Aston Villa have secured his services. I chuffed for him and glad it’s Houllier and Aston Villa he’ll be playing for too. Personally, I can’t wait to see him playing again in England, he might be getting on a bit but I bet the magic is still in his game.

As Bobby joins Villa, reports are that Ashley Young doesn’t want to sign a new contract and is looking for a move in January to us, the team he’s supported since a kid. He wants silverware and believes he could help Arsenal to win some again. Could be an interesting one but one his father no doubt would try and stop as he supports the Tiny Totts! Young’s contract is not up until the summer of 2012 so he’ll cost a lot of money.

Too much for us no doubt……..

That’s it for today, have a good one

Morning T-buzz, i remember it well too, wasn’t that the game that Merse played for Villa too?

    Lansbury is a hero 🙂

  2. T-buzz says:

Yeah, I think they were 2-0 up and Merson had scored one of the goals? I think we won 3-2 or so but i might be wrong. The goal by Pires though, will always be there as one of the best, even Andt Gray had to say, “Take a bow son!” lol

  3. W.A.T.H says:

I was there T-bz, the look an Schmeichel’s face as the ball sails over his head…………. Priceless!!

Morning all, I mean you two..! 😉

  4. T-buzz says:

Oooooooooooh…….I drool everytime I watch the Bergy goal against New Castle! Dabizas is still undergoing terapy after being mesmerised by the (non) Flying Dutchman! 😆

Bayern can have Bendtner and he should take Alminimum
    with him! 🙄

  5. T-buzz says:

    Hello WATH,
that must have been a great game to witness especially as it was score right infront of the Arsenal fans!

  6. W.A.T.H says:

It was pure class mate right up there with the best I have seen from any Arsenal player, basically even the Villa fans all just clapped as they knew they’d just witnessed a truly brilliant piece of skill.

  7. W.A.T.H says:

Rico, it was one of those moments in football when you actually can’t quite believe what you just seen, was a definate take your breath away moment..!

  8. rico says:

Bloomin awful morning – cold, dark and raining 🙁

    Hows you?

But good news is i have managed to cancel my subscription to afc.com, what a waste of money….

  9. rico says:

WATH Wasn’t that the season Bobby was just on fire?

Then he did his ligaments in the newcastle game? And we won the double 😉

Why don’t we have that kind of player anymore…

  10. W.A.T.H says:

Am sure Seaman saved a penalty that game as well. . . I always seemed to get confused with Villa away they were always very liquid away days 😉

Bobby was awesome that season Rico absolutely brilliant. . . . We do have a player like that as well though, his name is Samir Nasri….!

  11. W.A.T.H says:

He’s becoming influential like Bobby Rico, and he is also a lot younger so he’ll get there, they very similar for me, Samir is only gonna get better !!

  12. W.A.T.H says:

They were more like liquid weekends Rico, good job I am not like that anymore… Oh roll on saturday morning 😉 or should that be friday night and just not go home ? . ? . ? . ? 🙂

  13. rico says:

Bobby was trim and cute, Sami has a big bum 😉

Sami is one of my favs now WATH, he’s certainly getting better and better…

  14. rico says:

    Ah yes, the weekend game…

As much as I can’t wait for the match, I’m also dreading it too, will the players be up for this?? If not I fear the worst…

  15. W.A.T.H says:

They’ll be up for it Rico don’t you worry….! Sami don’t have a big bum anymore 😛

Ask RA I bet he is an expert on it’s size he notices things like that far more than I do.

  16. T-buzz says:

They had better be up for it rico or they face 50 lashes each!! lol
We have to shut the Spuddz up for good. Bale and that Van der Faart fella have to be detained and need to make sure they dont get crosses in to Crouch or Palaveryenko. I heard Defoe might be fit for the game? Hope not!

  17. W.A.T.H says:

Let them all be fit put their best team out and we will still smash em to bits they 2 bob…..! delusional swamp dwellers don’t get me started on them T-Bz….! Mugs of the highest order…! Forever in our shadow…!

  18. rico says:

    😆 WATH,

They better be, thats for sure but if the last few home games are anything to go by.

would you stick with JD & Squilli or bring Kos back ?

  19. W.A.T.H says:

I think I’d stick to what’s worked the last two games to be honest Rico, least they settled and they learning to play with each other so the understanding is getting better or should be and JD does attack the ball in the air so that should help with that long streak of piss they have up front..!

  20. rico says:

I’d def keep JD in, he’s getting better every game, and Squilli is a real leader, Fabianski will have to be up to his better side too…

Got a few things to do so on and off a bit for an hour..

  21. SD-London says:

We don’t need Ashley young, he is too one routed.
He also missed his opportunity to sign for us when he used to play for Norwich.
i guess Aston Villa offered more money but if he had insisted on signing for Arsenal and start with a humble salary like Walcott did, he would be playing for us now.

  22. W.A.T.H says:

SD-L how’s you..? If Young was a proper left winger and left footed I’d take him but he’s not and no better than what we have so no thanx…!

  23. SD-London says:

No Young then.Vella is a better prospect, especially with his chipping goals.
Wenger should play him more, i suspect he is lazy in training that is why Wenger doesn’t play him often.

  24. rico says:

You guys see the story about Ramsey’s chum getting stabbed in the face while at a Firework display in Cardiff??

  25. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Bobby was fantastic. Truly, one of our greats. I saw just now the article on Bobby having bought a flat at Highbury. A bit sad. But it’s sweet, I think.

  26. agirlagunner says:

rico, I saw that. His best friend right?? 40 something stitches??? Poor guy. The things that some people manage to do under the influence… Tsk. Tsk.

  27. rico says:

Just been reading that too, it is sad, really glad he’s back in the PL though, we’ll get to see him again 🙂

  28. agirlagunner says:

Fair enough. 🙂 Slooow news day. But I had a laugh thinking of Lansbury on goal. Imagine!

    What are you cooking?

  29. agirlagunner says:

(hears stomach growl) Sounds lovely. I’m craving fish tacos now, with extra… everything. Anything chocolate is perfect for dessert.

Have you tried eating bugs and grubs and similar exotic stuff??

  30. agirlagunner says:

Pique speaks of Cesc again… Grrr… I would really love to bloody his mouth… and stuff it with bugs and grubs and similar stuff. 🙂

Affelay went for just £2.5 million??

  31. rico says:

T-buzz, just what i was saying on monday, he’s on four, should only be three but Webb mucked up… December 31st the slate gets wiped clean, but i bet he picks up one and misses the manc or chav match….

  32. agirlagunner says:

Only when I chance upon it, rico. Anyway, we are at least a season late…

Affelay going to Camp Nou is a good indication that Cesc shall be staying… Still, I don’t like Barca getting any quality player. 😉 I wish they land more Adebayor-types.

TB, sorry. I tend to ask Master Chef what she cooks around this time. 😉

    See ya, SD.

  33. rico says:

I thought you had been watching agag when you mentioned the bugs for eating…. not for me thanks 😉

Master Chef, i wish – i’m just a mere country cook, and not a good one at that 😉
