Wilshere off to Germany?? Would you swap 3 points tomorrow for an FA Cup Trophy??

Morning all,

According to The Metro, new Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is ready to make an audacious bid for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The former Barcelona boss has reportedly identified the Gunners’ star as a key figure to lead the Champions League finalists to further glory over the next decade.

I’ll leave that right there..

So our old boy scored the winner to get his team three points for the neighbours yesterday and he’s loving it! Shame he won’t be there next season as AvB wants him gone…

Regardless of where we end up, Arsene is going nowhere this summer, well, not PSG:

I have had no contact with PSG, Carlo Ancelotti has done a good job and I do not see why he would leave the club by viewing the quality of his work this season.

And for my part, I have a contract with Arsenal, where I have served for 17 years and I do not see myself leaving the club like a thief and not respecting my contract.

No mention of beyond next season though…

For now though, the most important thing is getting three points against Wigan tomorrow night and make sure we take the fight for the top four to the final day of the season.

But Wigan will do everything they possibly can to stop that from happening, the are in desperate need of three points and their Chairman, Dave Whelan say’s he’d rather points than prizes:

I was the proudest man in football but now, if someone offered me a win at Arsenal on Tuesday instead of the cup, I’d say yes.

It’s so vital we stay in the Premier League and I’m sure most people would agree we’re good enough to stay in there.

We know what we have got to do – the players are well aware of it and up for it big style.

And be up for it they will, just as they were in the FA Cup final…

We just have to make sure we are ‘up for it’ more….

Just a thought, would you swap three points tomorrow night for Wigan’s FA Cup victory??

That’s if for today, have a good one….

nah had surgery and one thing and another but back all guns blazing now haha Miss me? 🙂

Since four clubs qualified for CL the FAC has lost it’s value more so when manure were allowed to sit it out 12years ago. The media/pundits who criticise Arsenal about trophies are the same who criticised AW about being myopic and was on a red card count for 7 years,as if no other team received red cards and galling of all, most of our red cards then were for minimal offences compared to Shearer(rescinded) Roy Keane(normal 3game ban) when he admitted to going out to maim a player. Nobody mentions as regularly Liverpools lack of PL trophy and even at the time of a drought the same as us, were never mentioned. The problem with such media bias is the fans become negative and divisive amongst themselves which then affect the teams performances. E.g why is our defensive record away from home the best in PL? Because away fans encourage, they don’t boo or grumble, not so at home. Now every fan wants 3points time to encourage rather than every Arsenal fan being a better manager, the manager but have no team managers job to be supporters just for a day. We could have won the cup we didn’t, we could be in a poorer position we’re not nw lets get on with it.

    rico

Under the current circumstances where The Arse need to win to finish above Tottenham/qualify for CL, no I would not swap 3 points for an F A Cup.

Hopefully, if things are looking a bit dire, The Arsenal will get the ‘strategic’ red card given to the opposition like spuds & Chavs. Maybe photos of the Togo Twat stuck on the walls of the change rooms will remind the boys of what may be if they drop 2 or 3 points Wednesday morning. I for one will invoke a 3 month media ban on myself if that dopey prickle does have the last laugh.

    COYRRR

  4. tunday imam says:

Tell Pep to dream ON… Wilshere, is a Gunner for life! I won’t swap champs league for the FA cup.. Let’s keep the faith..

  5. Wavy says:

Chances are rooneee won’t go abroad at all, he’ll stay in England. I mean he’d be another Tevez, linguistically, he’d never learn another language, as someone posted yesterday, it’s impossible to teach a turnip to read let alone learn a foreign language!
I don’t think for one minute that the syrup would sanction a £200,000+ per week paypacket, so that is a no go, for starters.
But he is a bloody good footballer, on his day! There just haven’t been many ‘days’ recently!
Shrek to Arsenal – nah, won’t happen.

  6. Adam says:

    Morning Rico and all.
Oz. I did wonder where you had gone. Sorry to hear about the surgery but I hope all is well. Now when are you going to sort my bathroom out? 🙂

  7. ozgunner10 says:

hiya Adam, how are you mate? I am hoping to be there August – Sep. Line up the tiles mate haha

  8. rico says:

Sorry to hear about needing surgery Oz, hope all went well and you are getting back to being fully fit again…

    Morning Adam..

MiroS, yes, he is another snag we have to overcome, disgraceful appointment I think…

  9. Jay says:

Adebayor has opened his gob again trying to put pressure on us for tomorrow, hope our players hate him as much as the fans.He has been shit all season ,strange how he has scored a couple of goals now the season has nearly finished. Is he trying to change AVBs mind about getting shot of the lazy prick

  10. allezkev says:

Wilshere to Bayern, ha, those Press twats just love it.
Wait till Bale leaves this summer.
You won’t hear a peep out of those tossers…

    Morning Gooners.
Morning Rico, Lee, Adam, Oz, et al..

  11. ozgunner10 says:

the Jack stories will continue now, he’s ambitious and wants the accolades, they will turn his head eventually are my thoughts

  12. ozgunner10 says:

Once he starts assisting his England buddy Rooney with goals *cough* he will be more than happy

  13. devilgunner says:

Jenks, Gibbs, Wilshere, OX, Theo, Wooney all in the same line up.

    Am I dreaming or what????

It may not happen. but you might never never know.

  14. ozgunner10 says:

I suspect the Rooney thing might be being overplayed to make Moyes look good you know. He comes in claims he has settled Rooney and gets an instant thumbs up from the United mob. Fergie admitting it on TV seemed an overplay to me, might be wrong

  15. SD London says:

    😀

Well, to see people actully contemplating that the Sun newspaper rumour of Rooney to the Arsenal is actually comforting in a sunny day.

But I am affraid that we might be asking too much of Wenger. Sure Wenger will change this summer and add more strength but to think Wenger will actually buy a player with £200k salary a week is asking the man to leave football generally.

I don’t see this happening , but I dreamt also because the boy is a battler , he helps the midfield defends and he is a striker , he could inspire one or two of our players who couldn’t careless.

I see him in Chelsea or Real Madrid

  16. Wavy says:

Rico I’m very worried about the unhealthy relationship you seem to be forming for Waynee. I your attracted to his rugged Hollywood good looks. I mean Shrek is a big star over there in tinsel town!
I’m afraid your relationship with him is doomed, I say doomed!

  17. Scott from Oz says:

Oz, the search party was out for you mate.
Hope all went well with op…….facelift, wasn’t it 🙂
    Morning all.
Good to see you back, Oz.

  18. Scott from Oz says:

Wav, i laughed when you wrote Rooney wouldn’t learn another language.
Does he even know ONE language 🙂

  19. devilgunner says:

    Wooney is a pipe dream.

I will only believe it when I see him score for AFC.

but one can live in wonderland

  20. Scott from Oz says:

Sean had his first game in a new league tonight…..the schedule is getting hectic.
His team lost 2-1 in the last minute, but not a bad result.
His side is an U/7 academy squad and played the Central Coast Marines U/9’s squad, a d actually outplayed them.
Some good bloody good kids running around on that pitch!!
The little fella drilled one that beat the keeper and whistled an inch past the post.
Mark my words, Australia will soon be producing Cahills, Kewells, Vidukas and the like on a regular basis.

  21. Lenz says:

    Ziggy

more to do with the fact that arsenal dont attack well away from home so therefore the defense remains tight

and at home they go all attack leaving the defense “squivestre”

  22. ozgunner10 says:

hello Scott – yeah all good now. Had a cyst go wrong and ended up with a 7cm hole in the back. They were concerned about the big C till tests finally proved negative. Worrying few days waiting to learn ones fate and a sore few weeks I tell ya but getting there now mate.

  23. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Oz – I don’t think it has been overplayed. I think Fergie was just trying to take some of the heat of Moyes before he has even taken up the reins at Old Toilet. If Fergie makes it public now, all the blame will not fall on Moyes. Moyes and Rooney have a bad history. Vain wont want to play for a manager that took him to court and won a sizeable settlement. Moyes wont want an unsettled player when he is trying to rebuild a team.

Making it public now is putting Vain in the shop window and maybe see his transfer underway or him sold before Moyes takes over as manager.

  24. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – Mea culpa. I thought I remembered you saying you were from the Brisbane area when talking about your hounds racing. So, I assumed Queensland not NSW. I’ll have to come up with another name.

However, I take no resposibility for your condition due to overindulgence in Canadian Club.

  25. Scott from Oz says:

    Sorry Rico……..:)
    Why Rooney?
I would take either, but is it because he is English, less of a tosser, a better player or a better all round fit guys?

  26. Scott from Oz says:

Hi CG….nah, never lived in Brisbane.
NSW born and bred and proud of it!!
    Queenslanders…..different breed, mate!!

  27. devilgunner says:

I prefer Rooney. For all his turnip mind he is a team player. Tevez puts his name first, second, third and if there is any left he will put it again.

the last few months have shown Rooney as a man who can leave things aside during the season. its the summer he throws the toys out of the pram.

Tevez goes AWOL even during half time.

  28. ozgunner10 says:

don’t like Tevez at all personally and do think the all round energy and game of Rooney would compliment just about any side

  29. Canadian Gooner says:

If Arsenal wouldn’t break their wage structure to keep Judas van Pursestrings, why would they completely shatter it to pay the even higher wage demands of Vain Rooney. I think he is headed to Chelsea if Maureen Yo fancies him in the least, if only for a windup. He’d love to have something to rub in Auld Whisky Nose’s face.

  30. ozgunner10 says:

    i’d be happy with this

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Spanish source Sport.es.

  31. devilgunner says:

Maybe we will put him to sleep between end of May and early september. Wooney will not know that the season had finished and another one started. he will just go on. 😉

would like to see him tearing the spuddies a new one. HAAAAAA

  32. Lee says:

Oz, I hope that won’t interfere with you tiling when you get over here…? You’ve got a shit load of work booked in! 😆
    Glad it’s all ok mate!

  33. ozgunner10 says:

cheers Lee, yeah i will be good to go in a few weeks mate, the jack hammer is calling my name 🙂

  34. Canadian Gooner says:

Oz – Glad to have you back. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

I could see Higuain, He is well down the order at RM. His wages wouln’t be in Vain’s stratospheric category. But it could also be an agent leak to put him in the shop window or an Arsenal smokescreen to divert attention away from their actual target(s). All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

  35. rico says:

    Morning Cg..

Scott – I just think it would be a huge statement of intent and I think he’s just slightly better..

Also, Tevez has a tendency to sulk every now and then

  36. devilgunner says:

Rico, Tevez sulks everytime. That is because he is constantly looking in the mirror. 😉

  37. Canadian Gooner says:

I wonder if Arsene will freshen up his coaching staff this summer? Thierry Henry could return as a coach for the strikers. There are plenty of former players who would be all too happy to help out.

  38. devilgunner says:

freshening the coaching staff was one of Red nose assets and the reason because he kept on winning. fresh ideas etc.

AW needs to change his coaches a very few years. After all these years SB is only his second 1st team coach.

  39. Jay says:

Strange how Tony Adams has never been brought back to the club as a coach. He is certainly a legend with the fans ,and one of the best defenders we have ever had.The story is that he upset the board few years ago.is it time to bring him in?

  40. Scott from Oz says:

I wouldn’t disagree with choosing Rooney over Tevez at all.
As much as most dislike Rooney, he is one hell of a footballer.
Oh the joy of him scoring the winner for us over Yanited or Spuds…..we can all dream.
    It is time.
Time Arsenal FC caught up with it’s fellow members of the “Big club” brigade.

  41. Scott from Oz says:

Jay, a great player does not make a great manager, and he has had a few chances.
Our defence is working well, so need for changes.
Dennis for me……he is getting a great grounding at Ajax.

  42. ArsenalDK says:

Wilfried Bony has been named player of the year in Hollland. Ahead of Christian Eriksen. Oh, and a season ticket for Bayern Munich games costs 107 £

  43. Scott from Oz says:

If our defence was no good, a change might be called for, but it is going great, so need for change imo Jay.

  44. rico says:

Almunia played well yesterday, double penalty save, then Watford raced up the other end and scored….

  45. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – I think Dennis will return sometime in the future. Right now he is earning his FIFA coaching certifications and learning his trade. He could start back at Arsenal as a youth coach and work his way up. He seems to be good with Ajax’s youth setup.

  46. potter says:

It’s because Arsene doesn’t want his system changed that we don’t get new ideas and coaches. He is very methodical and has only one real way of approaching things , old dog’s don’t learn new tricks.

  47. Scott from Oz says:

CG, a very cool calm and collected guy, as well as intelligent.
I can’t wait to see him back.

  48. Canadian Gooner says:

Oz – You hit the nail on the head. Also, Tony hasn’t distinguished himself ay any of his coaching/managing postings.

  49. potter says:

The story is that he upset the board few years ago.is it time to bring him in?

Reckon it was the other way !. I believe it was over the boards treatment of a long standing staff member when the club moved from Highbury .

  50. Scott from Oz says:

Honestly, would anyone here give Adams a role coaching or managing though?
His record speaks for itself, and again, our defence has been terrific, so why change what is working?

  51. devilgunner says:

I guess TA06 is old school as regards coaching. He will never be a manager at the top level. He is too ingrained in the past methods to be that winning manager. Few top players become top manager. Sometimes it is those who do not play it who are the better managers.

TA may be a good coach. One who is always playing second fiddle to a manager who allows him to coach the team while. In this case there is already SB and NB who are first team coaches.

When he was with Redknapp, TA distinguished himself as a coach. but when he took the reigns he found it difficult.

  52. TT says:

Don Howe was never a good manager IMO but he was a very good coach. So even though TA flopped as a manager he may well be a good coach under a good manager.

However I don’t see TA as a part of any solution regarding our coaching staff, it’s the manager that dictates all coaching at the club at the moment and if he wont change his approach no matter whom you have coaching they won’t make any difference.

As for DB for a role at the club it can never be a high position for his fear of flying. I would love to see him involved in the youth setup though.

  53. Canadian Gooner says:

Many of the top coaches/managers were decent players not great players. You can include Arsene and fergie in that category. Some good or great players make good coaches, but many don’t have the temperment for it. Taking the step up to management requires additional skills not necessary to be a great player. I think TA6 started out with the best of intentions, but either tried to rush his apprenticeship or just wasn’t suited for managership.

  54. potter says:

Everybody needs help Scott, the mark of a good manager is delegation , if you try to do everything yourself it is likely that you will fall between 2 stools. Or even be the Jack of all trades that actually masters none of them.

  55. Scott from Oz says:

TT, he doesn’t need to fly.
Bugger the CL games……Wenger is usually suspended for them anyway, so nothing new 🙂

  56. Scott from Oz says:

Potter, just my opinion, and i am not pointing the finger at anyone, but Wenger wears too many hats at Arsenal.

  57. Canadian Gooner says:

TT – You make a good point about DB10 our non-Flying Dutchman. I still think he would be good for the Academy where that wouldn’t be such an issue.

  58. TT says:

haha Scott that’s why we need him to fly 😀 someone to make those 69 minute substitutions when the manager is suspended 😛

  59. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – What is the Sage’s prognostications for the Wigan and Nouveau Chateau games?

  60. TT says:

Yep CG that’s where I would see him involved at the club. A great role model and as someone that has done it all, a coach that the youngsters will look up to and try to emulate. DB from what I hear of him doe’s not take any BS from nobody either.

  61. George says:

Hello from Rainy skint Cyprus…back to sunny England Wednesday
Been a while lost my job , so you will be seeing more of me ..

Rooney is not the answer. We have Star Trek up front ;s

Once we give JW the armband, he will bolt…So best we cash in on BS and TV5 this year, clear deadwood, and try out the reserves..

Gnabry, Eisfeld yennaris and Afobe. Why not try out our turbo injection Jap? Martinez rated him and he done alright for Feyernoord?I’m sure he will give us the lowdown on the rejuvenated Whelan globetrotters..

  62. tsgh says:

Jeez, Oz back from the dead… how did the assasination attempt fail Scott? 🙂

Welcome back budy… glad all is good… did you get a discount on the plastic surgery this time?

Now where are we? Wooney and his baby mamma’s plus her family shopping on Kings road maybe a picture to behold… 😉

Rico elaborate… does AVB want Ade de whore out?

  63. George says:

Ginge, AVB has cottoned on Adebarndoor is kak and is wheeling him out…I expect to see him playing for Al Ahly or some random chinese team next season

  64. ArsenalDK says:

exactly Rico. He’s banged in 31 goals and made 8 assists, in 30 league games. He’s valued at 8 million pounds, and is still relatively young. 24. Only problem? He’s from Ivory Coast, which means goodbye for 6 weeks every january..

  65. Scott from Oz says:

CG, we will spank Wigan 3 or 4 nil.
Aaron WILL get his three this time, of course.
    Newcastle….2-0.
Ginge, he ducked at the last second 🙂

  66. ArsenalDK says:

Interesting to see that Begovic is only rated at 4,4 million pounds on the market, but Pulis wants 15 million for him..

  67. Scott from Oz says:

I said it at the time…….what would we be saying if Szczesny or Fabianski did that??

  68. ArsenalDK says:

Scott, did you watch the game? He made a big mistake, not communicating with the defence properly, but otherwise had a ok game? His mind is clearly not in Stoke anymore, I would have him in a heartbeat! Definitely a top 5 goalie in UK

  69. Bob John says:

My brother hates looney Rooney so much that he refuses to even watch a game he is playing in! Have made a killing on our season tickets for the Manc game in the last few years!

  70. Canadian Gooner says:

ADK – It would be surprising with any other manager. But as his manager is the clueless Tony Pubis, anything is possible. He either doesn’t want to sell him and/or he’s trying to squeeze as much out of the deal as possible. Pubis has overplayed his hand and Arsenal are well known as being hard negotiators.

I don’t know why we are or would be interested in him as he is no better than what we have.

  71. Scott from Oz says:

Is he any better than our guys though??
    I don’t think so.
Szczesny got his kick p the arse and has been terrific since replacing Fabianski who was in top form until injured.
I reckon it is a case of fans thinking the grass is greener on the other side.
Szczesny not Fabianski made an error anywhere near that bad this season, yet have copped it relentlessly.
    Not for me.
If we do get a keeper, get a world class one.

  72. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – I hope those scores aren’t some of your FIFA2013 games.

I have a busy day ahead. So, I should get some sleep while it is still dark. It’s Good Morning from me and Good Afternoon or Evening to you all. Keep the Faith!

  73. ArsenalDK says:

Canadian Gooner, i agree, i would not pay that much for him, but I think that he is better than both Szczesny and Fabianski. Thankfully I am not the one to make decitions like these. I would hate to see him go to a rival and star…

  74. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners..

    Just finished washing my plums..

Sainsbury are selling some very tasty varieties ATM…

  75. tsgh says:

    😀 George, Scott

I think based on Ade da whore’s financial demand he would prefer FC anzhi even if it comes with 90 minutes of monkey chants from the stands… 😉

  76. allezkev says:

I understand that Adam wants his entire house tiled.

Not just the walls, but the floors and ceilings as well.

Probably take about a half-a-tonne of grout Oz…

    Hope you’re up for it….. Bonzer 😀

  77. tsgh says:

Scott you must have written this for AW… “What I said is [finishing fourth is] the minimum required. You could see that when Chelsea’s Champions League position was under threat, they came out quickly and said ‘no, what is most important for us is to be in the Champions League next year.’

“It is difficult to achieve but we have done it over the years. Is it enough? No. We want more. But this year, Manchester United was above everybody else.”

  78. allezkev says:

Given a good pre-season, then I reckon that Gnabry could be ready to compete for a 1st team squad place…
    That kid is quality…
As George says, I’d also like to see Miyaichi involved, coming off of the bench, he could be a very potent weapon…

  79. allezkev says:

You know Rico, as much as I want the club to invest in 2 or 3 quality players, I’d also like to see some of youngsters given a chance as well.
If all goes to plan, and the club manage to get rid of all those sidelined and expensive failures, then there is gonna be a few places vacant in the squad.
Eisfeld, Olsson, Akpom, all could come into contention…

  80. tsgh says:

Don’t forget Aneke… Kev 😉 he was wanted by Barca one time… and his performances at crewe (i know) shows he can offer something with his passing range and short…

I was watching sevilla last night and i was wondering what scouts see in Geoffrey Kondogbia…

Pellegrini has either given up on Malaga on is doing his best Aw impression… playing Isco as a CF on his own when he had 2 very good and fit strikers on the bench…

  81. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, i laugh when people “quote” Wenger saying 4th is a trophy.
Taken straight OUT of context, but hey, never let the facts get in the way lol!

  82. tsgh says:

    Later Ak….

scott you know that is the only way some journalist show their ingeniusness after going to oxbridge… 😉

  83. allezkev says:

I’m afraid that I think both Aneke and Afobe are gonna miss the boat Ginge.
    Hope I’m wrong… Gone now

  84. frednerk says:

    Afternoon All
Wenger says to-day that some clubs are wrong to farvour,
    short termisum for managers,(wonder why)
    he go’s on to say,
How wonderful the directors are to show such faith in him.

He’s even been bragging about how he has rebuilt the team since January (we signed Monreal) and how wonderful life is.
You can’t make it up…can you

  85. rico says:

Hi fred, i think AW is right to a degree about short term managers…

But Mancini has spent £230 million, and is failing, he has to go surely…

  86. SD London says:

Why would Rooney want to play for Arsenal anyways?

    I can only think of one;

His relationship has really deteriorated with Fergie that he will like to hurt Fergie by playing for Arsenal.

And this will make us happy as fans, not because we are excited about Rooney joining us , we will be happy because RVP will be pissed if we pay Rooney £200k per week and we sold RVP because we refused his £180k request.

If we sign Rooney , that will be a master coup by Wenger:
Fans happy for the sake of it,
Fergie not happy – Fans happy,
    RVP angry – Fans happy.

    Which means
Loads of Rooney Jersey sold – Puma happy!

Arsenal becomes the darling of FA (Walcott, Rooney,Wilshire,Gibbs , Jenkinson) in one team !

    £150Million (Puma) in the bank

    Board and Silent Stan happy

    EVERYBODY HAPPY 🙂 🙂 😉

    Fergie regretting he retired 😀

  87. rico says:

Football fancast reckon Manure are going to try and sign Cesc Fabregas this summer…..

    He wouldn’t would he??

    Off out with Fido, laters…

  88. Adam says:

Afternoon all. Lee, I personally can’t wait for the transfer window to open. It’s always a great time of year to be an Arsenal supporter isn’t it?

  89. SD London says:

    Thanks Lee,
this is more like it for a story, even though the window is not going to be opened until end of July and it will be relatively against Fifa rules to even talk to any player before then.

But still Journalist got to eat or they will be out of job and replaced by bloggers ready to write for free 😉

The only story looking real is the Jovetic story , surely coming to Arsenal (I think)

  90. Adam says:

Journalists are misunderstood SD although I know a few and they are all unmitigated gits, myself included.

  91. Adam says:

I can’t see Cesc playing under Sgt Major Moyes. I imagine his pre-match talks go something like “Aye, you there laddie. If you see a player oot there on the park that hasne got the same shurt as yoo, then kick him..hard”.

  92. Lee says:

What you reckon tomorrow’s result? I’m properly shitting myself about it….FFS it’s Wigan, what has happened to Arsenal F.C?

  93. Adam says:

Lee. And you, my dear friend are my Capo de Regime or my enforcer. Have no worries Lee good will triumph over evil tomorrow night. The Europa League is a worthy competition. Just imagine Kev, you and myself sitting on the Gulag Archipelago watching Arsenal take on a Siberian eleven in minus 20 temperatures while sucking a piece of frozen rotted Whale blubber. You’ll love it.

  94. Will XL says:

No way I’d want a prima donna like Rooney in my squad. Too much potential negativity. And there is also potential that his current slump will continue… His weight issues haven’t even been mentioned yet.

  95. Lee says:

Cannot wait Adam…..the frozen whale blubber with two mates sounds ok, the rest you can poke where the sun don’t! Actually it probably doesn’t shine in the Soviet Union!! 😉

  96. SD London says:

We have to qualify which will affect the Spuds chances of buying top class players so we will have the opportunity of increasing the gap next season.

  97. Micko says:

Lee, they’ve lost 19 games this season, I’d like to think we’re capable of at least a smash and grab.

  98. SD London says:

I hope the Wigan players are resigned to been relegated already and not play at 100% or simply drained from the FA Cup win.

We need Walcott at his best.

I can’t believe I am saying that; funny how time changes

  99. George says:

    Thanks Rico

    Lol@ginge @1:24pm

Ak, I hope Afobe and Aneke make the grade too… But I fear they may go the same way as the plonked who’s at Ipswich , lazy but talented a la adewhore style… What’s his name – he was shit anyhow…lol

Like most are saying , it’s only Wigan ffs, yet we all have one half hanging out..

We done Bayern on their turf, so we really shouldn’t be dropping one in fear at home to Whelans globetrotters

  100. rico says:

3.51 Lee, you and me both, I have a horrid feeling they will be up for it more than our lot….

  101. Wavy says:

George – JET! Jay Emmanuel Thomas.

He was the next TH14. Strangely he didn’t make the grade. He has just been told by Ipswich Town, to find a new club if he wants to play next season. He still has one. Year left on his contract. What does that tell you about his ability and attitude! Not a lot, really!
    Another failed experiment with youth!

  102. eastsidepaul says:

Evening all, would love to see higuain at Arsenal, Cesc back too would be a nice start.

  103. potter says:

Another star that made it before he did the work. 19 yrs old he was arrested failing to stop for police whilst driving his Mercedes Mclaren sports car without a licence. Too much too soon.

  104. tsgh says:

Very true George, Wavy ad Potter re JET…

He bought a 100k car before he even played in the EPL… and he had the nerve to park a DB9 in our a red zone near Leicester squad…

  105. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all, Nice one Rico.
I’de take the FA cup personally, 3 points means nothing to me, its not as though we are going to win Champions League is it. Just how many times do we have to qualify to understand that we won’t win. When Wenger and the like understand that success to supporters is not top 4. Our club have their priorities all wrong. Any monies earned through competetive play should be used to strengthen the team not pay the bills. Jacks rumour could hold some truth as he must be one of the only players that another club might want. Maybe the three points against Wigan may just help in keeping him. but i would still take the FA cup Capital one cup or the micky mouse cup anything would do me.

  106. rico says:

Esp, Higuain is a done deal if we are to believe the gossip 😉

And, Cesc could be off to Manure….

  107. potter says:

Re Cesc I think we have a first refusal on a buy back clause , written in when we took the lower price for him.

  108. rico says:

Evening Sp, I thought about that and still can’t make up my mind. If the Toots were sat well below us, I wouldn’t give a darn about getting 4th and yes, I’d swap those points for gary linekar’s eared jug….

  109. eastsidepaul says:

We should take cesc back. Would be amazing, aw should do all he can to bring him back.

  110. potter says:

Another stick to beat him with if he doesn’t resign him and he goes on to lead them to more victories. Potentially they are at the weakest point that they have been for years. Moyes has a poisoned chalice , there’s no need to make life easier for them again a tactical purchase could do us good and them harm. They have been doing it for years as did Liverpool in their day buying players to stop others from getting them.

  111. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi Rico, don’t care about the Spuds, Spuds have fought hard this year and i have watched them almost as much as i have watched us, and i have seen some good football from them. i have seen spuds fight and squeeze in last minute winners as if it really matters to them, while my own club have played some of the worst football i have seen from an Arsenal team in years. Supporters go in raptures if we fluke a win but we have witnessed blatant misses all through the game and still he plays them. The kind of football Spuds play makes me think they have earned the right to play CL. where we deserve exactly what we have nothing.

  112. rico says:

For me me no Potter… AW seldom goes back and if Cesc chooses the Mancs, then he’s a liar.

  113. W.A.T.H says:

Cesc can go take a run and jump into a very deep hole full of rattlesnakes judas money grabbing little prick….! People that want him back is amazing he was more of a judas than Rvp…! He is and was a manipulating tosspot…!

Higuain is a great finsher but he ain’t exactly blessed with speed is he… Isn’t that what we lack as a team in general..?

  114. W.A.T.H says:

SP, the problem with finishing outside the top 4 regardless of having a squad able to win the Champions league is that all the best players want to join teams that play in the CL so catch 22 mate, we need top 4 to get better players simple as that.

  115. potter says:

My problem with Cesc is that as much as I don’t like ship jumpers , he is a class act and i don’t want anyone else to have him.

  116. stevepalmer1 says:

Well said Wath. Fabregas had his chance a great footballer when he had our strip on but saw the grass was greener elsewhere. He got used the same way many ex Arsenal players have when they leave us. He wanted trophies and now he has them Nasri and Clichey the same Van Persie has had his taste now its all downhill from now on. I have come to the conclusion that if we want great players we will have to buy them just the same way as everybody else. Forget loyalty and all that crap, just offer a decent amount and buy quality.

  117. rico says:

    Hi Wath

He might be all those things but I’d still hate to see the little S**T at the Mancs with RvP…

  118. allezkev says:

    Mmmmmmm, frozen whale blubber.
A night out in Vladivostok in minus 20 degrees.
Going out with me three mates wearing Cossack hats.

Yeah, bring on the Europa Cup….

  119. stevepalmer1 says:

Wath, weve been in Champions League since it started and i have seen no signs of top players flooding in to join us so i my eyes if you offer a good salary and the asking price and they will come.

  120. allezkev says:

You know Gooners, however hard it is to accept, all those players that left, probably made the right choice.

They’ve all earned considerably more money, and they have won trophies.

What does Sagna, Rosicky and a few others at our club have to show?

    The Moral Highground perhaps…

Well fcuk that, give me some fcuking trophies, give me some fcuking glory..

  121. stevepalmer1 says:

I sit here now and wonder what team will turn up tomorrow, will it be the one that chased Utd down or will it be the the other team who knows, but like all Arsenal fans i will still be cheering the lads on.

  122. allezkev says:

Would ManUre take Cristiano Ronaldo back???

    You bet they would…

If Fabregas goes to ManUre, then that says all we really need to know about how shit our club has become…

Imho and with the greatest respect… 😉

  123. allezkev says:

Look at how excited many Gooners (me included) were when Thierry Henry came ‘home’ for a few weeks…

Mates, we’re desperate for a bit of fcuking quality…

I was at the Leeds game when TH14 scored…
    The crowd went fcuking potty.

I’m sick of watching shit players and being told how lucky I am when we sneak into the CL…

Sir Stevo, I make you 100% correct mate.

Pay the wages and transfer fees and we’ll get the players..,

All that bollox about the CL is a smokescreen…

  124. stevepalmer1 says:

Sitting here watching Bargain Hunt on the tele, where these guys go in to the antique shops and try and find a bargain reminds me of Wenger, only Wenger starts at the back of the shop. and will not ever pay the asking price whether its a bargain or not.

  125. allezkev says:

As you can guess, I’m really looking forward to watching us struggle against Wigan tomorrow… 😀

  126. rico says:

    Rooney Ak, Wayne Rooney 😉

Sp, we are more like Ebay, on the final day bidding for a 50p chewy 😉

  127. stevepalmer1 says:

Were one of the the top 10 wealthiest teams in the world, with one of the most modern Stadiums playing some of the worst players to pull a shirt onW where the fuck is all that Champions league money. 60,000 dopey supporters paying exhorbitant prices to watch a mediocre set of players, no wonder the supporters have had enough.

  128. Lee says:

I think I’d take Fibreglass back BUT we need three more of his calibre none of this lidl shit…..

  129. W.A.T.H says:

Sorry had to do a few things…
SP I hear exactly what your saying regards CL and not being good enough but if that cycle is going to change then with the funds available now if we finish top 4 and don’t spend then I think we know that nothing will ever change until the regime is replaced. We need to know one way or another.
As for Cesc let him rot anywhere but with us, I don’t want the wanker back I want players as good as him though BUT not him…! They are out there we just need to show the ambition to go get them and make us competitive again..!
Not that difficult with at least 100million plus to spend.

  130. Lee says:

WATH, the frustrating thing is we’re so close to winning something or being a load more competitive than we are…just wish the board/Wenger could see it that way?!?! And do something about it…..

  131. rico says:

We have been close to being a winning side for 4/5 seasons Lee, we just haven’t taken that final move to turn us into one….

    Wenger or the board??

I know where my money is….

  132. Micko says:

Kev, do you want my opinion, well too bad your gonna get it anyway, i’m reliantly informed that’s taxi driver speak, 7.22 & 34 a couple of nice little rants there.
rico, lets just say the PSG piece in the post was like a kick in the goolies.

  133. W.A.T.H says:

Lee, Tom Ince all day long mate….!

We know we need a spine and we know the players we need shot off, I think Wenger and the club know this but I could also be wrong and my blind faith will come back and kick me in the nuts big time but I reckon this summer if we qualify for CL we’ll buy very big, if we don’t I still think we will buy big but will that be enough..?

  134. W.A.T.H says:

Agreed Lee, should of beat Brum and should of put out better teams in some of the cup matches when Wenger decided to mix and match players which failed dismally.

  135. Micko says:

Should have gone last summer imo rico, he’s made it clear now he intends to see out his contract, what can I do but suffer it.

  136. W.A.T.H says:

I just know he is Arsenal Rico so am sure he would love to come but do we want to get him, wont be silly money either..! well worth it in my view.

  137. rico says:

I’m not convinced Micko, if we don’t get top 4, I still see him having a re-think… Interesting times….

    Gone now…

  138. allezkev says:

Wath, there is absolutely no chance whatsoever, of Wenger spending £100m.

Even if he wanted to, Kroenke would not allow it.

I doubt that Wenger will even spend all of the £70m he’s reported to have in his ‘war-chest’…

Players will be sold, to balance the books.

Wenger’s net spend will probably be in the region of £30m

  139. allezkev says:

I saw a bit of Higuain in the CL S/F…

Tbh, he looked a bit slow to me, about the same pace as Giroud.

Not that that is what we want or need.
But if Wenger suprises me and signs him, then I won’t complain.
Well , not until I watch him play.

  140. Scott from Oz says:

Steve, with all due respect, your 6.47 is just ridiculous.
How can you applaud Spuds for eking out results then take a crack at Gooners for being excited when Arsenal do the same thing?
I watched them v Stoke, and they were outplayed but snagged a result.
Tell me how this is any different to a heap of games we have won late in the game?
If they are so good, then why aren’t they safe in the top 4?
    Be fair mate.

  141. Scott from Oz says:

    Lee, get on mate.
Wigan need at least 3 goals start.
    We have them covered.
    We will destroy them.
    We have mental strength 🙂

  142. Lee says:

But it’s The Arsenal we’re talking about….that’s what worries me!! 😉 Saying that if this lot can’t knock Wigan over they don’t deserve CL football!

  143. rico says:

Mancini didn’t achieve set targets then…

Wonder what our targets are…. Mind you, I think I know the answer…

    Morning all

  144. Lee says:

Our manager achieves the board’s targets…and that’s why he’s been employed for the last 8yrs! 😉

  145. rico says:

I hope Platt got the sack with Mancini, fed up of seeing his fat face in the media…

    ‘Hanger on’ that he is…

  146. rico says:

I have Lee, incredibly brave, and 100% sensible. I’d do the same if I was told what she has been told….

  147. Lee says:

Err, not me…….the majority of my office think we’ll do them! I just wish I was that confident.

  148. allezkev says:

Dan Crowley, 16, Aston Villa, the new Jack Wilshere, has apparently agreed to move to Arsenal…

Morning Scott… Not sure about tonight’s game tbh.
Martinez is a crafty bastard. Wonder what he had up his sleeve for us.
Can’t see Wenger having any surprises, he doesn’t do tactics…

  149. Scott from Oz says:

    We will be winning guys.
Aaron will score in the 11th, 42nd and 66th minutes or thereabouts.

  150. Scott from Oz says:

I think we will roll them 2 or 3 nil.
I just can’t see them coming down off cloud 9, but I could be wrong…..shut up Lee 🙂

  151. ozgunner10 says:

big night ahead scotty mate – i do think we’ll do them provided we leave the apathy in the dressing room – morning all
