Will we trigger this strikers release clause ?

Well the papers are full of the notion that we are about to offer Lyon over thirty million pounds or euro’s depending on who you believe to trigger the release clause for Alexandre Lacazette.

We’ve been linked with him previously and for way less that over thirty million, did Arsene not think we needed him a few seasons back or has he now decided that Lacazette has improved to such an extent he is now exactly the kind of striker that we need?

We all have our opinions on who we think we should sign and the kind of striker we need, I think a smallish pocket rocket is exactly what we need, someone who loves to score, quick off the mark and who attacks the penalty box and looks to make runs in behind defenders making the most of the little space that you get in the premier league… Is Lacazette that kind of player? Lukaku is another being bandied about but isn’t he a younger version of Giroud? As far as the criticism of Giroud is sometimes justified in that he is wasteful we also hardly play to his strengths, in my mind he needs decent supply from wingers, he isn’t the type of player to sprint past 3 defender to smash in a last gasp winner, he isn’t world class but yes he’s a good all round striker. What i think we need is a player that suits our style of play better than Giroud, he will still score 20 goals a season for sure and had done consistently but we need another striker who is more dynamic who offers something different, again, is that Lacazette… is it someone completely off the radar..?

What do we need most, another centre back or a striker or some will say we also still need another defensively minded central midfielder.

Lacazette will be nice mind you I would take our pub strike from the Red Lion reserves at the mo, come on Arsene get busy and move on!

  2. Davey says:

Surely if AW was in for Vardy then Lacazette is the answer with pace to burn, quick feet and gets his shot off quick, don’t see Morata thing as he is an upgrade on Giroud and comes with an over inflated price tag.

  3. Wath says:

Davey, think most players have an over inflated price tag it’s part and parcel of modern day football it’s more about whats the better value for money on a player these days and who represents the best value even though the prices are all over inflated.

Wath, I had a sausage sandwich about 9am, large tea followed by a banana…

Nothing for lunch mate, I’m too busy… ?

Now off to read your post, paying special attention to punctuation, spelling and grammar…. ?

  5. Wath says:

Pay as much attention as you want mate I left em all out so Adam can come and sort it for me 😉

Davy, totally agree with the dosh being quoted for Morata and for that money i’d be slapping down a wad for Lewandowski…! alas that won’t happen but I think Lacazette could do a good job for us and he’s a good age as well.

Thanks Wath !…………just popped in to get some cool from the Cornish sun…….(and when I say the Cornish sun, I dont mean the local newspaper with some inbred girl posing on page 3 with her crimped pasties out !)…………………….where I have being bronzing this Giroud style body of when he`s about 60 and an alcoholic tramp !…………….will we trigger Lacazette`s buyout clause ?, simple!, like all these rumours no one knows except Ornstein !………………..and he last tweeted about Wimbledon on the 27th June !

Come on Portugal !………………………….sorry lads and ladess, but I haven`t forgiven the Welsh since they celebrated Englands loss to Iceland !

Would love it if the academy team gets to play away to Plymouth ! ……………22.2 miles away beats the usual 251 miles to the Ems !.

Wath, where have you been hiding? You don’t double as Tony Blair do you? 🙂

I noticed that the Armenian guy has joined manure, presumably for mega bucks and an over inflated salary. However, I don’t think the northern shitehouse were really interested until he was linked with Arsenal! The moronic Pygmy has bought another of Wenger’s stalking horses. I do hope he proves to be another duff buy by midget man!
We may not be in the maelstrom of the buying market but it doesn’t stop us pouring poison on our rivals’ purchases, does it?

Good post Wath. Short but pithy as all reports should be.

  11. Wath says:

Thanx Way, short n sweet, thats me…. shut up Lee…!

Ts, a tent you say…. sounds about right for Arsene, cheap…!

Just as I thought they could do Premier League clubs are declining the invite to play in the EFL trophy.
I have been told ManU Liverpool and Chelsea have said no thank and more could follow.
This is why I think they are saying no.

The Premier League have enhanced the prize money to the tune of £1 million making it £1.95 million, this includes £10,000 per win ,£5,000 per draw and £100,000 to the winners.

    Match Proceeds.
After deductions of match expenses all proceeds will be split as follows
    45% Home Club
    45% Away club
    10% to the Pool account

NOW Invited clubs will donate ALL or part off their gate receipts to a fund which will be shared equally by League 1 and 2 clubs.

Group Stage Invited clubs will donate their 45% share to the fund.

Knockout Stage Invited Clubs will retain 25% of their share and donate 20% to the fund

Semi Final and Final Invited clubs will retain 30% of their share and donate 15% to the fund,
5 League 1&2 voted against these proposals
I would tell them get stuffed

Rick, to me, the point of playing in the FLT is to give our youngsters some valuable experience of senior football, the money shouldn’t be an issue, surely..?

I’d be disappointed if EPL clubs, who are more wealthy than some Third World Countries, are getting the hump over a few thousand quid ffs…

I hope that Arsenal aren’t gonna penny-pinch over a few quid and pull out as well…
Then again, we all know how Kroenke operates..,

  14. Wath says:

As you say Bob, if Kevin Gameiro can’t get into the French squad makes you wonder eh…! You cannot tell me Lacazette ain’t better than Gignac…. maybe the French manager decided Greizmann was enough..!

  15. allezkev says:

Interesting to see the Welsh defenders doing as much holding at corners as Portugal…

It’s taken awhile, longer than it should had, but eventually British defenders are learning how to cheat at corners and free-kicks just as proficiently as everyone else…

  16. Le Coq Monster says:

    Morning all.

Picked up my grandson from nursery yesterday and he was wearing a Portugal kit…………..take that Rambo !………..All that celebrating when England lost !…………..he who laughs last laughs the longest !…………………………although I must admit, I had a good laugh at England myself ! 😀
Made sense to me as you will be back training earlier for the only team that counts…………The Arsenal !
