Will Cech do a RvP? Aubameyang set to join our speedy attack?

Morning all.

No, I don’t mean have one good season then fade away, I mean win the league at the first attempt for the club he’s about to join……? Maybe, just maybe.

I don’t know many Arsenal fans who think that signing Petr Cech would be anything other than great news but it’s not done yet:

A tweet from the The Sports PR Company that appeared in Cech’s timeline confirmed that:

“SportsPRCompany … as we told you, No transfer deal has been done yet for PetrCech – as soon as any news PetrCech will confirm.”

Cech is a proven winner with great experience and he’s got many a year left in him yet. If he brings his coach with him then all the better as Szczesny, who is expected to stay, will only benefit, as will young Martinez.

John Terry said yesterday that whichever club signed him, he’d earn them 12/15 points a season as he’s that good. Bearing in mind we lost out on the league by 12 points to the Chavs, that’s perhaps an odd thing for Terry to say…..

This is what he’s won:

FA Community Shield (2): 2005, 2009
UEFA Champions League (1): 2011–12
UEFA Europa League (1): 2012–13

That’s the level of experience and winning mentality he’ll bring to Arsenal….

To be honest, it’s a shock to me that the Chelsea owner is prepared to sanction this deal but perhaps there’s more to it.

Rumour has it that Roman and Petr struck a deal a while back when having signed Courtois, the big Cech would be granted a move on to any club of his choice as long as he accepted playing second fiddle to the Belgian for just one season…

But, and call me mad all you like, I think that Roman is trying to build bridges between the two clubs, especially the managers. The dwarf has been nothing other than rude and insulting towards Arsene Wenger since the day he first took steps on England’s fine land. There are times when Jose has done nothing other than prove exactly why so many football fans think Chelsea are a club with little to no class. He’s arrogant, pigheaded and takes himself a bit too seriously.

Should a fee finally be agreed and the reports in all the newspapers are true, we could very well hear today that Petr Cech is finally an Arsenal player meaning at last we’ll have a top class goalkeeper. Our opening game of the new season could be very interesting as we face Chelsea at Wembley in the Charity Shield Cup.

But after that game, the real season begins and Arsenal need more than just Petr Cech if we are going to be serious title challengers this time around and certainly if we are going to win the league.

I just hope that the big guy from Czechoslovakia is the first in what will be a very good transfer window for Arsenal FC. We are so close, the club cannot afford to let another great opportunity to win the league go by having failed to address our needs in the summer.

Talking transfer rumours, according to German newspaper Bild,  Arsenal are expected to make a £28 million bid for Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The front man is thought to be ready to leave the German Cup finalists this summer after Jurgen Klopp decided to end his time as manager of the club.

Aubameyang, a Gabon international, scored 25 goals last season and could become part of one of the fastest front lines in the Premier League if he signed for the us.

Apparently, well according to French website Footmercato, we are trying to sign teenager Charly Musonda from Chelsea. Jose’ll never let it happen!

Finally, it’s Patrick Vieira’s birthday today, he’s 39 years old. There’s a bit about him on the official site if anyone is interested. Click HERE to read.

Oh how I wish Arsene Wenger could find a player like him out there somewhere. Some sports writers believe that man could be Imbula….

That’s your lot for today, have a good one.

    Morring all.
Laugh at me, but after reading that statement from Cechs PR team, I now have no doubt we will get him.
We never discuss negotiations or targets.
Players who discuss Arsenal never sign.
It’s all falling into place now

Rico, Sundays were a killer…. all those supplements, bending my crossbar with the extra weight! Proper character building stuff…………….. 😉

  3. rico says:

Ha ha Lee, and there was me thinking just the weight of the Sunday newspapers was hard work… Too old for supplements… 😉

    Morning fellow Cech seekers!
    Regarding any transfers:
Arsenal.com will provide all the up to date answers. Until then, don’t hold your breath!
    Regarding the poison midget:
He will delay, obsficate, lie, cheat and try to redirect hie former keeper in any way to keep out of his new adoring North London fans.
This deal is far from reaching a conclusion no matter how we choose to interpret the ‘information’ we are fed!
When does the transfer window open? That’s when we might see something real written down etc. then again………..

Good start to the day Rico. You can’t beat a bit of ‘dwarf’ bashing.

Just re read the first piece, I mostly wrote, with the help of my iPad! I just can’t be bothered to correct its wild ravings and writings! I’m sure you are all bright enough to correct the stupidity of my machine!

  6. rico says:

    🙂 Scott..

    Morning Adam.

    Thanks Wavy/Bondex.

I do enjoy bashing the dwarf, mind you, he’s an easy target isn’t he…

Don’t worry Wavy, I get the gist of most of it… lol

  7. Wavy says:

Wicked poedia Lee. Excellent. Very, very funny! They must be practising it darn the Bridge, especially as they only have the one designated dwarf!
Do you think it could catch on? Would it, could it replace football on a Saturday afternoon? The possibilities are endless.

Dwarf dart tossing, with Velcro attached to his head and thrown at an over sized dart board?

Dwarf tossing………Harry Potter would have been proud! Better than Quidditch anyday!

I should love to see the vertically challenged one vellcroed to goalposts or better still to the over sized TV screen at the Ems! How about it??

  8. Lee says:

Wavy, I’ve got it, we fire the vertically challenged one out of a giant cannon before the charity shield game! Never to be seen again…..

  9. rogerbij says:

Dont touch a poison dwarf boys, there be dark magic behind those eyes.

And dont discriminate against the nicer dwarfs. Snow White knows.

Thanks for putting it straight Rico – Cech is looking good and crossing fingers and toes, but it is well jumping the gun for tabloids to call it deal done. Bullshite.

Aubameyang would be an upgrade on Welbeck but do we really need him? Is this tabloid guff? Would we pay nearly 30m?? Is Wenger perhaps changing the game from having a top striker scoring 25 PL goals per season to having three players operating along the front who are ALL expected to notch 15 PL goals a season?

  10. Wavy says:

Firing the dwarf out of a cannon before k.o seems highly appropriate, at the home of the gunners, after all! Yeh I’ll go with that. You bring the wadding and I’ll buy the fireworks!! BOOM BOOM!

Roger, latex gloves would protect us from any chelshit diseases!

    We can do this!!

  11. rico says:

Roger, I think that story is all smoke and puff too..

DM next I hope, well, next after Cech if we are going to get Cech….

  12. rico says:

    You’re on a roll this morning….

Anyone catch the England womens game, or the goals. The winner was pretty darn good. Should be an interesting quarter-final against Canada…

  13. Wavy says:

Yes some of it. Cracking goal from Bronze. And I think I spotted a new Tony Adams playing, she could be our new central defender! Steph Houghton what a ‘guy’ find a male version of her leadership qualities and her no nonsense defending and the EPL title would be ours, plus Cech, of course!

  14. allezkev says:

What’s all this dwarf tossing talk.. ?

It sounds like something that Adam would do with his accordion, whilst drinking green tea…

  15. allezkev says:

Rodger, I tend to forget about Welbeck, and whilst his first season as an Arsenal player didn’t exactly set the world alight, I think that there is a lot of untapped potential in that young fella.

He will be 25 this coming November, so even though he is still young, he’s also at a stage where should be delivering on a more regular basis.

Wenger will improve him and I’m hopeful that we’ll see a marked improvement on his 8 goals from last season…

  16. rogerbij says:

Maybe Kev, like you say we have to see on Welbeck. He was an improvement on Sanogo wasnt he! Damn Devil thats more funny than pie in the face!

  17. Wavy says:

I thought the chair penalty was inspirational!
If only Chesney could save penalties like that! I mean when was the last time he actually got any part of his body to a penalty??
Sign the heading gk up….now….sod Cech!

  18. Hell Raising Devil says:

I thought you will like it Rico. There is another vid but I am afraid it can offend. Its about a referee. and since this ref displays particular tendencies and orientations I do not think appropriate to post. But its very funny as well.

  19. rico says:

The Ashes will be totally different, as will the England team… The boredom will be on show again as will the negativity….

  20. Tai says:

A 23 year old who scored and assisted a combined 45 in 66 games in the Bundssliga should be a good signing, if not excellent… plus he’s Brazilian international who scored against Chile at the Emirates friendly.

  21. allezkev says:

I see that Arsenal have just signed Vlad the Impaler…

Rick, Fred, he’s a 16 year old midfielder..,

  22. tsgh says:

    Morning All..

It seems the bin dippers have made first big move this window.Fabinho has been copped for £28m… astonishing. A brazillian international goinging for less than what they want to sell Sterling for… right passport argh…?

  23. Lee says:

Fabhino or Firminho? I know a Brazilian cab driver called Kevinho plus his mate Adaminho who is an international playboy! 😉
