What’s To Be Said? Time to hit the Big 70!!

Well, nothing should need to be said to the Arsenal players prior to kick off, each and every one of them, regardless of whether they start or sit in the dugout should know long before kick off what this game means to Arsenal Past, Arsenal Future and certainly the Arsenal Fans of the present.

This game is our biggest of the season so far, maybe some will think it was the two matches against Udinese and in terms of Champions League, yes it was huge but today is bigger, it’s massive.

This is about Arsenal beating their most despised rival ever and about keeping them where they should be, in our shadow.

William Gallas, Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone are reported to be out injured for them but Steven Pienaar could make his comeback after injury.

Gervinho, Laurent Koscielny and Yossi Benayoun all face late fitness tests but Theo Walcott should return. Djourou joins Wilshere and Vermaelen on the injury list. Squilli is back in training and we can only hope that Wenger is truthing when he’s says his fitness is ‘too short’ for this match.

We have only beaten the scum once in the last six matches played against them in the league. Time for that to change!

Eight of the last eleven fixtures at S***e Hart Lane have been draws. Time for that to change!

In the Premier League, the scum have won just seven out of the thirty eight times we have played. Time for that seven to stay the same!

We haven’t beaten them in the league since 2007. Time for that to change!

This will be the 167th time we are faced our bitter rival, we have notched up 69 wins, they have 52. Time to make that 70!

As for our away form, we haven’t won for seven matches, our worst away form since 1992. Time for that to change!

Today isn’t about one man either, certainly not one of theirs. Today is about a squad – our squad and every single one of them needs to be ready for this game, both mentally and physically!

If they aren’t, don’t bother turning up, let players who are ready for this game play.

Let those who want to go out there and show all Arsenal fans that today matters play, those who are prepared to lay their body on the line for the red and white shirt, those who want to give their all for the history of our club and those who truly understand the meaning of a North London Derby!

We know what it means, I just pray that this Arsenal side do too…

Have a good day all….

Some-ones been doing their homework, some interesting stats there.
Big london derby today, I expect a narrow win for fulham against qpr.

  2. bt62 Gooner says:

RED ARMY,RED ARMY,RED ARMY!!!!! Get stuck in from the first minute to last!!!! This is. WAR!!!!Give no quarter,we are THE ARSENAL time to show who we really our!!!!! AFFA.No more defensive wobbles every player from front to back need to play as one unit. Not a time for drifters, daydreamers and slackers time for THE REAL ARSENAL to take the field.LETS SMASH SOME SPUDS TODAY!!!! GET F$$KIN STUCK IN!!!!!

  3. EastSidePaul says:

Really don’t have a good feeling about today, the spuds have a mighty good midfield, far better than ours I am afraid. And you know that idiot Adybymoneywhore will play out of his skin today. Spurs will score today and I think it will be more than one.

  4. goonster says:

Ermm hello didn’t we smash them at home the season preceding the last? when fabregas scored the goal of his career? Oh well what does it matter….we ll smash them again and this time there’s an added incentive. They have ade the whore and we are “underdogs”! So come on boys show them what they are….spuds. And we all know where you usually find them….underground stewing in their own filth. COYGs come on!

  5. TT says:

I am actually very relaxed about this game. Everyone and his dog expects the spuds to win so I would not be surprised that we come away with all the points. The spuds are talked up by all, including them self’s, as the favorites so the pressure will be on them not us.

  6. mog says:

read somewhere today that 3/4 of the worlds population have never seen a spuds title win.
not sure if its true but certainly funny.
how many other top teams could say that.

  7. Micko says:

The last time spurs won the league man had not even stepped foot on the moon !
Watching match of the day highlights earlier, can some one please explain to me how we lost to blackburn ? They are one bad team.

  8. mog says:

yes i suppose the world was still in black and white in 1961.you’d have to be nearly 60 years old to remeber that far back.

    big club my arse.

  9. Micko says:

ESP, we don’t half shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes, i assume you had an early start today and will have an even earlier one next sunday, lets hope the good luck continues.

  10. Micko says:

Ireland to beat wales, England to beat france, its gonna be a good double header next sunday morning.
Watching the box this morning the spurs players really do fancy their chances today, we don’t put the fear of god into teams like we used to, you really realise that when players from other teams come out and say it so openly.

  11. EastSidePaul says:

Micko how can our team put the fear into opposition anymore? Back in 2004 8 out of our starting 11 where over 6′, now thats intimidating to be standing beside in the tunnel, now they look over and see Arshavin and Walcott? I’m 5’8″ and neither of those two (Plus anyone else on the team) would intimidated me!

  12. K-TR7 says:

Micko whatever happens today is a derby.form and quality matter diddly squat if guts and blood don’t accompany them.we were vastly superior to them last year but they won 1 and drew the other.we threw away leads in silly fashion.we must show guts in plenty if we are to win today.y squat if guts and blood don’t accompany them.we were vastly superior to them last year but they won 1 and drew the other.we threw away leads in silly fashion.we must show guts in plenty if we are to win today.

  13. Micko says:

I know what your saying ESP, are you still thinking of coming over in the new year with your ole man to watch a game ?

  14. EastSidePaul says:

Yeah i think so Micko, would be nice for him to head over and see the place! Shame he hasn’t been to see a live game yet, he has been a supporter all his life!

  15. Micko says:

ESP, if you give me a couple of months notice I should be able to sort you out with a couple of front row tickets, that’s where I sit, only downside is if it rains you get wet, Aston Villa in March wouldn’t be a bad choice, just let me know.

  16. EastSidePaul says:

Wow that would be amazing Micko! Tickets are hard to come by, thank you for the offer sir! Aston Villa in March sounds fantastic!

  17. Micko says:

Rico, looks like a heatwave in norf london ! Haven’t heard any team news, i thought you had your finger on the pulse.

  18. rico says:

Given, i didn’t know he’d gone there, thought gomes or cudicinni was in gola – shows what i know eh 😉

  19. rico says:

Same old this season then JM, i think citeh will have a massive blip with too many ego’s…

😳 Sorry Micko… Not used to men actually planning ahead 😉

  20. Joaquim Moreira says:

Chelsea only needs a “new” Sturridge, Mata and Meireles. Probably is the best team in the League.

  21. Joaquim Moreira says:

  22. rico says:

Agree there JM, but we have been saying that in ages….. Pee’s me off big time…..

Kt, the whole side are in for a tough time, if we get any early chances, we have to make them count today, no misses, no selfishness just ruthless in front of goal…

Ramsey needs a big performance today!

  23. rico says:

SS’s are doing a bit of a thing on Wengers 15 years..

    Money spent £310 million
    Money Recouped £294 million

    Net Spending – £16 Million

No wonder the board won’t say a bad thing about him….

  24. rico says:

VdV should be off the pitch after that celebration, stinks, bloody stinks!!

Same old Mike Dean, once a knob, always a knob….!

  25. EastSidePaul says:

Why do we bother to play football, its so clear the rules of football are not universal, and are in fact open to interpretation and used against Arsenal Football Club. Clear handball, as clear handball as you will see. VDV SHOULD have been sent off, two yellow cards = a red, the rules of football must apply to everyone.

We cannot continue to play football by starting with 9 men, I have said it on here so many times that my face is blue at this point. Arron Ramsey and Theo Waclott are passengers, we cannot afford to play them because of their names. Neither is or has ever been good enough to wear an Arsenal jersey.

  26. EastSidePaul says:

Also another thing I am sick of, is this fake politeness about Arsenal. RVP should have demanded VDV be shown a second yellow. and why didn’t everyone of our players surround the ref when the goal was given, what would United have done???!

  27. Joaquim Moreira says:

I’m not agree with you. It’s difficult to say was a a handball…
The mistake was in the midfield
However, for me Arsenal was been a good surprise in the 1st half.

  28. EastSidePaul says:

Right if it wasn’t a handball (clearly was in my opinion though) its another yellow for the celebration and spurs down to 10.

  29. rico says:

ESP – agree re Ramsey and Walcott today, they are not in the game, why is Chamberlain not on the bench – and why is VdV on the pitch?? Shocking ref…..

You bet, had RvP suggested a second yellow, he’d have been booked but yes, he certainly should have asked the question…

    Leader, not in my book….

  30. Rockyrocastle07 says:

Too many. Merts is shaky as hell. Walcott is his usual useless self. Gibbs is doing ok but not quick enough getting back. I was typically slagging off Rambo and then he scored. Hope Sagna isn’t too fucked.

  31. EastSidePaul says:

Well there you have it! Another great result! Ahhhh many more like this please!

So, is that enough now? Or do we have to be relegated before the fans do something?

I want someone to answer me, WHY IS ARRON RAMSEY STILL PLAYING FOR ARSENAL????

  32. ArsenalDK says:

that was horrible goalkeeping from szczesny for the second goal. God, i am so fucking pissed right now. After the 2. goal from shittenham, we created absolutely NOTHING, we have no spine, no leaders, no nothing.

    Good bye top 4.

  33. rico says:

    Vdv should have been off

    His goal was dubious

who marked Wlaker for his goal, no-one, too much space gifted to him..

Ches was outstanding, he won’t be happy with the second, that’s for sure…

  34. rico says:

ESP – i think Ramsey is a player who will be great for us, but, right now he is struggling, he had a shocker today, his worst game since the cup match against Cardiff imho…

Arteta was dire and poor Coq worked his nuts off but the two with him didn’t – that meant the suppl to Theo and RvP was just nothing, just nothing…

Gervinho should have buried his simple chance….

Regardless, we should have won that overall, but still, we lost!!

  35. rico says:

ADK – forget the keeping, who was closing down Walker? No-one, blame them, he should never have had so much freedom to shoot….

  36. ArsenalDK says:

I guess you have a point rico, our defense is still shambolic. How many games have we lost now? Where are we on the table currently? I haven’t looked since the season started.. Wenger must feel the heat surely??

  37. EastSidePaul says:

Wenger feels no heat, he is there to make money not manage a team and as long as he continues to make a profit regardless of how our team is doing he will remain.

    Kroenke out

  38. agirlagunner says:

Boo! Gutted. Good thing I missed the match. Was stuck at am airport down south because of rains in Manila. 😥 Waaahh.

  39. goonster says:

Positives…lecoq ll only get better. Mert did ok against a fast deformed oops meant defoe. Zzzz is world class…negatives..ramsey is done. Send him on loan or better still let him come off the bench…theo iS well theo. We lacked penetration and robin was Isolated up front. We ve got a huge battle on our hands guys but hopefully we ll triumph.

  40. EastSidePaul says:

I don’t think Ramsey will ever be a decent player, he hasn’t showed any promise, he is living off his name, and is every bit as bad as Denilson.

But, its not his fault, its the managers, the manager picks himself and walcott week in week out. And how do you leave him on the pitch, I would have taken him off within the first 20mins of the game.

  41. EastSidePaul says:

    Kroenke out, Usmanov In.

How you expect to run with the wolves come night when you spend all day sparring with the puppies?

We need big money players, you get what you pay for, would Hazard have missed that chance today? Would M’vila have been a bad as Ramsey? Would Cahill have had as poor positioning as Song in CD today?

  42. rico says:

15th ADK, and who is to blame??

ESP – Krankie out and he can take the bloody lot with him too…

Hi agag, count your blessings, we had no midfield bar Coq, and they failed to protect the defence, we had no avenue for RvP and Theo and Gervihno missed a golden chance…

The ref should have sent VdV off but bottled it…

Same old same old story and we are in deep trouble imho…..

  43. rico says:

M’Vila and Hazard woul;d have won us that game simples, and that with Song at CH too…

We are heading towards meltdown imho – if you were RvP, would you stay??

Nah, nor would I, if i were him i would go join Dennis at Ajax….

  44. goonster says:

Am gutted too agag but we coulda gotten a result if only ramsey and arteta raised their game. We did well in most departments. Lecog is a beast held his own against parker and modric. Am afraid Robin won’t hang around this lot come the end of the season.

  45. Rockyrocastle07 says:

Our defence is so poor it’s ridiculous. Why the hell was Merts up front at the end of the match?! Although having said that, it comes to something when I felt more comfortable with Cov-au-vin (easily our player of the match, considering he was basically running our midfield due to the dismal showings of Ramsey and Arteta) at the back than Merts. The bug guy did ok, but it looked like he was crapping his pants the whole match.

Bottom line, shit result. Why would any big name player want to come to us now? 7 points in 7 games? Disgusting.

  46. Lee says:

    Mertsacker letting the ball bounce….
    Walcott fuckin static…
Gervinho has to bury his chance….
Sagna off and we look shite on the right….
Our holding midfielder playing CB because we didn’t buy two CB’s…
The whole thing is a shit show and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out what the team needs…. but we’ve got the accountant!!

  47. rico says:

I’m not goonster….. a loss against ‘them’ leaves me totally unimpressed…

In fact, i’m off for a long walk with my woofa before it get’s dark, i’m really downhearted and so sad, sad to see our wonderful football club being ruined…. each and every day a bit of what we all love is being lost……

Catch you guys and gals tomorrow…..

Dark Days – Very Dark Days…

    Night all….

  48. goonster says:

Come on you guys..yeah we lost but we deserved at least a point. The board ll never sack wEnger. We won’t get our dear club back in a While so I suggest we just suck it up and support the lads like the away fans did today…great lads. God bless their soul.

  49. Lee says:

And after all that I think we should of got a draw…. It’s a sad thing when you look at our current squad….we’re bringing on that lazy fuck arshavin, a player that was at charlton last season and a Chelsea reject!! Where’s the world class players we were promised after our move to Ashburton?? Spin spin bollocks!!!

  50. EastSidePaul says:

How about we chat Kroneke out, how about we bring in giant banners saying sack the board, how about Dein back?? How about we don’t suck it up. We have been sucking it up long enough and its not good enough.

Now Sagna is to be out for the rest of the season, this is a relegation battle, please don’t be so naive to think otherwise.

  51. Lee says:

RVP must be thinking WTF am I doing here? Add some quality players to this squad or the “top four model” will be fucked!!!

  52. goonster says:

Without sagna in that back line we are pretty toothless. Hope you are wrong….cause I fear for us….be afraid guys be really afraid.

  53. Joaquim Moreira says:

    hello again!
For starting: Was a great match with a big intensity and a nice atmosphere.
Like in Blackburn we beginning to lost when Sagna was off. Between Sagna and Jenkinson there is a big difference in quality.
Besides three more important things: 1st-After the match we can count how many important saves Szesnic doing even was unlucly in the second goal. If not, the score rise… 2nd Arsenal problem is in the midfield. The team is not balanced. We can’t play with those 3 forwards at the same time. 2 players with the same characterits and another one isn’t a central forward. Is out of the question the quality of the players but we don’t have a balanced squad. We need a central forward able to shoot, play by air and strong enought for secure the 2 central backs. If our central forward prefer to organize. Is a nº 10 and not a number 9. We need an Adebayor, tevez,Defoe,Falcao,Hernandez,Bent… We need a aplyer to arrest the 2 central backs.Like now, they are free, playing in face of the opponents like a double players in defence 3th:in consequence, our midfield is always disadvantage and tires quickly. AW must understand the matches win in the midfield. Is better have 5 players in the midfield that have a team unbalanced. Spurs wins the match, because Sagna is off (and the replace is much poor) and because th e replacements were be for control the midfield. Lost that court area, what’s the interesting of have more ball possession? how nmany times AA, Benayou, etc have the ball in good ocasions? The team is completely split in two parts. That is and was the big problem in arsenal this season. The team is not balanced and effort request to the midfields players is very high. So, like I said since the beginning of the season we need more quaility midfiels players for running the games, take possession of the ball and play with the positive edge, facing the opponents. Being outnumbered in midfield, playing with three players with his back to goal and not allowing a rotativiidade players between games just take advantage of the opponents. Football Arsenal, and a short pass from foot to foot, requires the players are together and are able to gain an edge in midfield. If this balance is fragile, the team is fully match.
    I’ll see what AW says

  54. EastSidePaul says:

Was just cruising LeGrove, and thats the word on there, and with our medical staff he will be lucky to keep the leg I think.

RVP is far too good to be in this team, and the guy is not a striker, he is a number 10, and thats the job he does. We have NO strikers. Nor do we have a midfield that would facilitate a 2nd striker.

  55. Lee says:

Sagna goes off against bb lose the game off against that shower of shite lose the game…..if he’s out for the season we are well and truly fucked!! Who the fuck tunes AW up and gives hime shit…. NO ONE!!!

  56. goonster says:

Rvp song chesny vermaelin are all gonna be looking at their contracts. We could have a massive exodus on our hands Lee.

  57. goonster says:

This could be a blessing In disguise guys…perhaps wenger and the board ll castrate themselves and maybe a new board and manager ll just rescue us from this. We need fresh blood handling our club. Wenger out!

  58. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all.
I suppose you all have the hump over the result. I must say i was delighted with the way the team came out. We are not having it anyway near what we deserve, Personally i felt we played a lot better than i have seen us play for quite sometime, The winning goal was shot from 25 yards a long way outside the box, i beieive it should have been easily collected but of course it wasn’t so all i can say is good strike to the striker, i felt Czez should have comfortably saved that. I was listening to . talk sport on the radio comeing home and was listening to fans of both sides talking, and they reckon our defence was the worst defence in the league. In my eyes i felt we played well to day our defence kept what some believe to be the best Spuds side for years/ at bay
I felt we deserved to win that game, i must say that Theo has worn my patience a bit thin, i felt he was stiffled to the degree that he didn’t feature much at all, Theo has great speed but no football brain and i don’t believe he will change Bales pace was too much for us to handle and the trouble with that is that he has a football brain, he wasn’t outstanding to day but he showed where theo is missing. My Spurs mates was expecting a hideing to us but we controlled much of the game, but our finishing is dire, but at the end of the day 2.1 was a fair result.

  59. Lee says:

Defensively we are SHIT….we haven’t got an out and out goal scorer our whole squad needed addressing in May…Fab and the French ponce should of been jogged on as soon as the season finished and quality replacements integrated into the squad… 2 CB’ s should of been bought and then add the youth…

  60. Rockyrocastle07 says:

So what if we controlled much of the match? We lost. Again. To an average spurs side. Things need to change and fast.

  61. Lee says:

I’d rather control fuck all and WIN by a fluke…we’ve got to stop this rot otherwise we’re well and truly fucked!! The team’s needed a backbone for ages….

  62. Rockyrocastle07 says:

Again, spot on Lee. Why are we relying on Song at CB? We are so short of cover. I know this may not be a popular suggestion, and don’t get me wrong, I love the guy and think he’s awesome….. But we should cut our losses with Vermaelen. He’s our best CB by far, but we just can’t rely on him at all. We badly miss him when he doesn’t play, but we face that scenario far too often.

  63. stevepalmer1 says:

I know your frustrated Rocky but we were a lot better to day, they have started gelling and with some decent strikers we will start winning of that i’m sure

  64. allezkev says:

I didn’t see the game. But from what i heard on 5Live & from 2 others who saw the game Arsenal did enough to have got a result. But poor finishing fucked us again.
Just as it’s fucked us all season. That puts pressure on our defence and then if you add a series of off-side goals and injuries it’s a shit-sandwich.

  65. Lee says:

Rocky, I think your spot on with tv5, this persistent injury thing is bollox… we can’t afford to have him out all the time, so buy a replacement….

  66. allezkev says:

Lee, if LeGenius had signed Cahill then Tv5 wouldn’t be an issue.
Does anyone think that Song is better in the back4 than in m/f..?

  67. Lee says:

We’ve too many luxury players and don’t have the backbone of a good team ie players that’ll roll their sleeves up and get involved!!
Night all, looking forward to all the shite coming my way tomorrow at work……James Hunts the lot of ’em!!! 😉

  68. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening AK,
If you get to watch the match later i believe you will see that we have started to pass the ball about a lot better we also shut down quicker and i felt we worked for one another as well, yes we lost and i suppose that is a big problem. but in all honesty i felt we were more of a team today, some player’s could have done a lot more, but we are definitly improveing as we go along

  69. allezkev says:

    Hi Steve.
I was glad that Coq had a good game. He looks to have the ‘right stuff’.
Arteta & Ramsey were poor then!?
Walcott to me, is on borrowed time. If he thinks he’s gonna get a whopping pay rise i suspect that he might be a tad disappointed..!

  70. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hello again
My opinion is this: until Sagan been out, we are above the match. We can’t have good oportunities butmostly the time, we have controlled the game and be the better team. Look at the statisticals at half-time and until Sagna be out.
For me, was a (good) surprise bacause, like I posted before,we are an unbalanced team. We want to work with a team but the players do not complete to form a real team, balanced in all sectors and that can hide the flaws with each of the other additional features.
Sagana probably is out for the rest of the season.
I’m afraid with the future now.

  71. allezkev says:

French Football Federation have confirmed that Bacary Sagna has broken his leg & will be out for 3 months.
    Lucky Arsenal!!!?

  72. agirlagunner says:

This club is well and truly fudged… Grrr. No excuses; we were poor last night as we have frequently been this season.

  73. allezkev says:

Tbh Agag i expected Arsenal to lose. In fact i thought it would be by a bigger margain. But for the injury to Sagna and Chezzers ‘Seaman moment’ we would’ve drawn & may have got a winner.
Yes we don’t make it easy on ourselves but by heck if some bad shit out there it always falls on us.

  74. allezkev says:

Agag ws’ve now lost our best midfielder [Jack] and our best two defenders [Verm and Sagna]. Now if that isn’t shit luck then i don’t know wtf is..?
Yes Wenger should have added more quality and the Board should have stumped up more money and Gazides should have done his business sooner. But we are where we are.

  75. allezkev says:

Four defeats, even this early, means that any delusions Wenger may have harboured of ever mounting a title challenge have been blown away.
If i hear LeSilly Bollocks prattling on in the vein i think i’ll fcuking explode. But i don’t think even LSB would insult us with that garbage. Not now…

  76. allezkev says:

As for the top-four agag, there’s 31 games left and a lot can happen. But as it stands, Newcastle have a better chance than Arsenal.
I don’t and never have rated Liverpool. They maybe the media darlings but for all the King Kenny rubbish in the Press and TV isn’t going to propel them into the top-four.
It’s still between us and the scum. And we can still turn it around, even after such a shit start.

  77. allezkev says:

Ok agag, it seems that you must be glued to some shopping website, so i’ll leave you to buy up half of Manila and bid you goodnight… 🙂

  78. agirlagunner says:

AK, truly a disastrous start to our campaign. Four defeats!! This is what we get for scrimping on good buys. It’s angering; the situation we are in was avoidable; if we had invested properly and got our business done early.

    This Stan fella is useless.
