What a great January signing he would be! Keeper wants out!

The rush towards the end of this transfer window looms, its climatic conclusion and the media hyperbole will be here sooner than we think – you can almost sense the pandemonium going on at the many clubs who are  yet to delve into the murky world of spin agents and greedy players!

That’s it guys and gals, it’s called the January Transfer Window.

We at Arsenal have already been linked by all those dodgy transfer outlets, to every Tom, Dick, Manuel and Maxwell on the planet, not recently but since the end of August.

It’s laughable really, but gives us fans a lot of nonsense to debate and I love it….

At the same time we all understand that 95% of what we read on-line, in the Press and hear on the radio is a wind-up, originating in the majority of cases in the wild imagination of some nondescript journo or an agent.

It’s a difficult balancing act that any manager must achieve between keeping a strong squad, keeping everyone happy in that strong squad, whilst having a contingency plan in place to compensate for injuries.

Arsene Wenger has manfully attempted to walk a sensible line despite the clamour for new signings, bringing through some fabulous young players and also attempting to keep the top players we already have.

At the same time though, we as a club have been suffering a raft of defensive injuries.

As much as i’d love to see our manager posing alongside new January signings like Jan Vertonghen, Marco Reus and Lukasz Podolski, it’s not likely to happen.

So it looks like we’ll have to be satisfied by the arrival of some loan signings and the odd veteran.

It would be nice if Ivan the Terrible had one surprise up his sleeve for us this January but he does love his little games of bluff and counter-bluff, usually leading to one of the petro-dollar clubs sweeping in to clean up whilst he hides behind their wealth as his excuse for missing out, again…

That, of course, doesn’t mean that the job of clearing out a few more players who’ve become surplus to requirements cannot be continued this Winter.

That would at least free up some vital finance, which could be re-invested next Summer in some proper transfer business.

We all have our favourites for the exit and I’ll leave that to you to discuss but Arsenal seem to be a club that has to count the pennies, so why do carry a lot of dead-wood?

A tidy sum could be saved by some moving these mediocre players on, that is of course, if some other club will take them?

In the meantime, what I really want to hear, is that Robin Van Persie has signed a new contract…

What a great signing he would be…

Titbits:

We are reported to be interested in defender Scott Dann, again and Vito Mannone would be happy to make his switch to Hull permanent!

Wouldn’t we all?

Morning Guys and Chicks of the Henry Gunners’ faith.

    Good write up Sir K.

Agree regarding Mannone. But why Scott Dann and not Cahill???? That is, unless Dann comes now with Cahill coming in the summer for free and AW doing a u-turn and gets us rid of Squillaci and Djourou.

  2. W.A.T.H says:

DG, for wenger to sell the 2 you mentioned means he’d have to sort of admit he was wrong………… Ain’t happening…!!!!

  3. devilgunner says:

Even if we give them a free we will save money….on wages. Consider Mannone, Almunia, Squilly, Denilson and Bendy alone would surely save us around 150K to 200K a week. AA, Chamack, Rosicky and permacrock Diaby would give us around 300K more. So that’s 500K per week which we can invest on two/three better players.

  4. W.A.T.H says:

I don’t want Dann or Cahill, seems Cahill is a greedy fucker and Dann is injury prone so neither thanx very much… Vertonghen for me, technically sound, big, aggressive and versatile as well.

  5. devilgunner says:

I agree W.A.T.H. But you never know. Get to know my country’s politics and you will learn that U-TURNS are a piece of cake everyday. Maybe AW will do one or two!!!! who knows.

  6. paddythegunner says:

nice post.well written, short and to the point.i feel at this stage most gunners understand how our club needs to operate in these hard times(made much harder by wrecklkess clubs, like city and chelski).so if we can continue to make champions league spot think mr wenger and his crew will have done a fine job….keep it goonerish!!!!!!!

  7. devilgunner says:

I would take Vertonghen in a flash mate. TBH the only way I would like some English men in the AFC team is beceause of the 6+5 rule. Otherwise they would have to be like Jack….really special.

  8. W.A.T.H says:

Arsenal “reportedly” i do hasten to add “reportedly”……!!!

Say no to Chamakh loan move…….. R we really completely f’kin stupid…?????????? Surely anyone willing to take him needs to have their hand bitten off and the one way tkt paid for in point 1 of a second flat…!

  9. rico says:

    Morning all…

Wath, not sure Cahill is greedy, i think he’s out pricing himseilf so he can leave for free in the summer 😉

But Vertonghen ticks all the boxes ..

And yes, RvP would be a great signing AK 🙂

Getting rid of a few bits of rubbish would also be good then let the summer bring a few bloody good players through the door…

And as usual, mighty fine post AK …..

  10. W.A.T.H says:

Agree DG……… Seems there are one or two others coming along that will be knocking on the door to join Jack but we’ll see hey…!

  11. Judith Le'Strange says:

Scott Dann was linked back in the summer but nothing happened, so would Wenger go back in for him. I know we desperately need defenders especially in both the left and right positions. But knowing Wenger it depends on how much Dann is offer for.

  12. rico says:

Hi devil, wenger won’t get rid of JD though sadly, he’s one of his favs i think…

    Welcome paddy and thanks…

  13. devilgunner says:

If we consider the here and now than JD is not up to standard. However I feel that there is a good chance that he may come good. He is playing as a right back also. IMO it is possible that if he is given a run alongside Merte he will turn out a vital player. The problem is that for him to have an extended run would mean that TV and Kozzer will not play at all. Unthinkable.

I would also like to ask again. Why did not AW play Miguel at left back against the Greeks and risked Santos??? that game was useless. it was not a win at all costs game. and now it means that we are without a proper left back till march. And guess who is playing??? yes mates. MIGUEL

  14. ArsenalDK says:

Miquel is not a bad player IMO. He’s a nice backup. At least he gives his all, and Gibbs should be back at the end of January. So it’s all good

  15. rico says:

devil, i think we all still wonder that, same with TV, what was the point of playing either?

Last season, JD partnered Squilli I think for quite a few matches and for a long period of time, we didn’t lose a game, then he got injured and he’s never been the same since.

He’s not a RB, never will be and all Wenger is doing is ruining him further imho – just like he has done with a few others….

Yennaris should be playing at Rb against swansea imho, Sinclair will have a field day against JD….

  16. devilgunner says:

I agree Rico. But it could have been better if he played against the greeks. He is still young and he could have played in that game and still learned. Win, loose or draw did not matter much.

  17. rico says:

Agree re Miquel Adk, but it’s looking likely that he’ll be going off on loan, if Gibbs come back suffers no set backs, Miquel wants to go….

  18. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
Can see why you was dubbed by the Rico sword SAK, another fine piece of work sir, they say the pen is mightier than the sword i think you have been dubbed by both.
I still believe we will aquire players in this window, but i have to be honest, i hav’nt got a clue in what positions he may fill, i agree that the dead wood needs to go but as you said who would want some of them even on a free.
I read the paper this morning and the cock has been crowing, half way through the season and he thinks they are title contenders, clever bit of writing as although he slags off all the clubs at the top he left us alone, In the back of his mind he keeps getting that nagging feeling that The Arsenal are poised to pass them. he explained that his club has been doing it the right way, what he failed to say is that he is trying to emulate us . he states that they have new training facilities, so the next thing to copy from us is a stadium, but they are still light years behind us and hopefully will stay there for many years to come.

  19. ArsenalDK says:

I prefer Gibbs rico, as I am a fan of him, but he needs to stay injury free! They say that miquel is the next Pique? I wonder 😉

I just read that VdV said that tottenham are favourites for the title. If that happens, i’m gonna kill my self.. Let’s hope those mugs get complacent… Someone needs to put them in their place..

  20. ArsenalDK says:

devilgunner, it was highly unlucky that we lost santos to such a bad injury. I agree that he shouldn’t have risked it, but as I said, he could have played him 10 times in a row without that happening..

  21. rico says:

Hi Steve, sadly, i feel our transfer window is already shut – the areas we need have already been exposed either by injury, ACON’s or our lack of goals..

It now half way through the window almost and soon players will return and all we will hear is how having Sagna, Gibbs and Jack back are like three new signings….

If we were going to sign anoyone, we would have done so by now imho….

  22. rico says:

sorry devil, i thought you were talking about rb and JD, at lb, definately should have started with Miquel, or even Coquelin…

Neither Santos or TV should have started that game…..

  23. devilgunner says:

I beg to differ Rico. Knowing AW means that he usually does his transfers on the last day to knock down their price further. Dont be drawn on the fact that he has not acted. Watch out for the 31st.

  24. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Ricolicious,After the last transfer window, i will still believe we will buy till the last second, cheap bargains no doubt, but some in and some out

  25. rico says:

Is anyone else sick of all the TH12 headlines in the paper and on afc.com?

ok, he’s returned on loan but it’s hardly such huge news is it….

  26. DutchGooner10 says:

    Morning HH Gooners.

Hopes up, expectations down. The usual transfer rollercoaster.

What about Bothelo back from loan? With 4 years Europe under his belt work permit won’t be a problem. Would solve left back position.

    AK balanced well written post.

  27. rico says:

Hi DG10 – can’t see it personally, not until the summer, same with Campbells permit..

It would ‘kill gibbs and santos’ 😉

  28. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico

TH12 has boosted atmosphere. Pounding the crest on his chest has everyone on edge. But he’s part of our past. We should not forget about the future depth and talent of the club. It worries me his hype will be taken to the end of the transfer window.

  29. rico says:

Totally agree DG10 and no doubt that’s just why we re-signed him on loan, escape for Wenger/Stan/Ivan from buying anyone else…..

  30. devilgunner says:

    Hmmmmmmm. Maybe Na$ri on loan????? For the rest of the season. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

  31. DutchGooner10 says:

    Devil

I have Na$ri back to paint the chalk lines with a toothbrush. On match day he may touch up the penalty dots while the team warms up. Maybe the refs will spot we actually have one.

  32. devilgunner says:

No. Not even if it was myself. He is good but I do not like the guy as a person. He is on the same level as Adebayor for me. I look for the qualities of a player yes. But first I look for the qualities of a person and also how much of a man true to his word he is. Sadly Tevez fits none

  33. rico says:

Tevez – in a flash, even a loan would be good…

    QPR have bid for Pienaar
Everton have signed Gibson from Manure

  34. DutchGooner10 says:

Tevez would distort the dressing room. Don’t want him using us as a platform proving his former employers wrong. Too much water has gone under his bridge.

  35. devilgunner says:

DG10 I agree 100%. I am fed up of players using us as a platform. Tevez will qualify as one of those players. If AW wants to sign a couple of superstars who are struggling but would welcome the chance to revive their career and flourish again he could do no worse than sign Kaka and Pato.

  36. devilgunner says:

W.A.T.H. it has been aggreed that DG would refer to DutchGooner10. Me should be devil. We keep getting mixed up.

  37. devilgunner says:

its not us mate. and neither you alone STV. there were more than one who kept attributing comments to us that we did not make. In the end Rico suggested that I would be Devil and DG the Dutch one. makes sense.

  38. W.A.T.H says:

DG10…… If your scanning through comments thats disgraceful your supposed to read them properly 😉

    DG
    DG10…………

I think you two need the opticians……….. 😀

  39. STV says:

I did comment to u once from what I remember.. I called dutch as DG though.

WATH thats lot of players for us to dream mate 😉

  40. devilgunner says:

It appears that the question over who Thierry Henry will replace in Arsenal’s Premier League squad has been answered with the news that Abou Diaby is heading to Qatar for more treatment on his troublesome ankle.

Can we sell him to a team in Qatar?????

  41. W.A.T.H says:

When would I ever cause trouble Rico…..! 😛

I think it’s easy we cal DG – DG thats easy eh lol
DutchGooner we call “Cloggy” he’s dutch they wear cloggs and thats easy too…..

We can then save the best name for Priscilla… we can rename her “Tulip” 😉

  42. rico says:

    Fingers crossed devil 😉

Now you really are trying to confuse matters, haven’t you got work to do Wath 😉 😉

  43. EastSidePaul says:

    Morning all, nice article Kev.

We deserve a manager that is interested in taking this club froward, and not just maintaining mediocrity.
Where honestly does everyone see the club progressing to in the upcoming years under Wenger and Co.?

Wenger is the greatest manager this club has ever seen, but he has lost it, we all know he has, the club is now selling off its best assists and replacing them with cut price players, 5th right now is more than we deserve, our squad is as weak as it ever has been, and will not be added to this Jan window to save a few bucks.

Spurs have over taken us, and we have allowed it, while they spend and bring in players of real class, we have being selling our players off as soon as we can. Modric wanted out, well look he is still there, playing well. We all know deep down that they have overtaken us, but none of us want to admit it.

City, Spurs and United will fight it out for the Title this year, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Us will fight it out for 4th.. Anybody fancy our chances?

    We need a change,

  44. lee says:

ESP, agree but when “they” consider 4th to be a trophy, what chance have we? It’s a shame that it’s come to this….but it can be rectified with some good house-keeping and a little investment! But we’ll muddle on through and see if we can scrape 4th spot…IT’S A FUCKIN JOKE!!

  45. EastSidePaul says:

    Thank you Lee!
At times I feel I’m looking for too much, and that 4th should be good enough for us, but it isn’t, and we should all be outraged, especially since nothing is being done about it.

Does anyone here genuinely think we can challenge for the title this year or even next?

  46. rico says:

    Hi Esp,

i still believe it’s the ‘Co’ at our club which has to brunt most of the blame, when Gazidis/Stan came out and said that we could cope without CL football each season, what message does that send out to the players…

Stan, as our majority shareholder should be setting targets at the top of the PL and by not doing that he lacks ambition and it shows in the kind of money that is given to Wenger to spend…

Always said, I’d like a new leader and see what Wenger does under him, history shows he wasn’t always afraid to spend but those days are long gone…

As for fighting for 4th, I am far from confident of us getting that position…. As it stands now….

  47. EastSidePaul says:

Rico I’d be alright with Wenger staying as long as Usmanov and and Dein come in, also he needs a new assistant manager.

  48. rico says:

That is what I’m hoping for Esp, all three, not sure what is happening with AU though, he was trying to purchase more shares which would take him up to or over 30%, and with that I think he would be able to see what is exactly going on with the money – could shake up a few things too….

Stan is going to ruin us if he continues this way, ok we may end up with a lovely stadium and ‘debt free’ but being a mid table club by than is a possibility….

I worry that we wouldn’t be a club that attracted great players but on the other hand, the Arabs have managed to attract a few at Citeh and they weren’t a ‘top four’ club…

  49. rico says:

well if finishing 6th or 7th gets the fat cats out and AU in, maybe it would be worth it?

But, it would hurt like hell….

  50. Joaquim Moreira says:

    hi!
we are on the 13th January. No new signs, except Henry. Half a month is gone. The League and the competitions are back now. We sign TH. We loan Manone and Fripong. Chamack and Gervinho are in the african Cup. We stay with many injuries. Gibbs and Diaby are in the same state since the pre-season. Mets id fit for sunday? We are in 5th, more close the 4th,6th,7h and 8th then the 3th. Our goals is clear: try to be 4th, try go forward at CL and reach the FA final. A new player is always a new problem now. Hope RVP haven’t any kind of injury and God help us.

  51. Rockyrocastle07 says:

    Afternoon all. Great post AK

Rico, I agree, it would hurt us massively. No top players would be interested in coming to us at all. I don’tthink many of them fancy it much at the moment, let alone if we finish outside the CL places.

  52. lee says:

Double edged sword….shouldn’t have come to us having to finish outside CL positions for “The Arsenal” to do something about it..

  53. STV says:

Am afraid all that happens is Wenger bluff bullshit about competition and how much other teams spends and how we achived that with our bad start and less money.

  54. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners.
Afternoon Rico. Thanks for another great sub-edit.
And thanks for all the positive feedback…. Cheers… 😀

Now, who are we signing today?

  55. rico says:

Hi JM, doesn’t make good reading does it….

Hi Rocky – but like i say, Citeh managed to do it, money will talk if AU or similar takes over and matches them on wages, Citeh were dreaful prior to the Arab takeover….

I know lee, you would think that being a football club the aims should be the highest, can’t believe that the tootless tigers we have at the top see it different, all they seem to want to do is pay off debt, it’s a joke…..

  56. rico says:

    Wenger – We’re exploring full-back options

    By Chris Harris

Arsène Wenger is exploring “potential situations” in his search for full-back cover but he admits there are no concrete deals in place.

The Arsenal squad has been hit by a string of injuries to wide defenders with Bacary Sagna, Carl Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos all sidelined.

Even Wenger’s deputy full backs have succumbed with Thomas Vermaelen and Francis Coquelin currently unavailable, so the manager is on the lookout for a solution.

“At the moment we are exploring potential situations we can take advantage of but there is nothing concrete,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“Hopefully the players will come back very quickly now. With Carl Jenkinson we had very good news on his scan and he is starting to practice again, we have Thomas Vermaelen who is the first to come back, Bacary Sagna is evolving well and Santos is doing well too. Let’s hope they all come back quickly.”

Wenger’s search for defensive reinforcements is a global one but he admits that a loan deal is not necessarily the answer.

“All over the world we have our eyes and we look for good [players],” said the manager.

“It is very simple in a situation like that. You might take a player who doesn’t play at all somewhere, who is not necessarily fit quicker than a player who is injured. Or you take a young, potential player who has not made it somewhere.

“A player who plays anywhere in the world at the moment will not be available on loan, it doesn’t exist. It can only be a guy who doesn’t play or a promising player who has not yet made it completely who you could take advantage of.

“That is why it is not an easy situation. You have to consider that a guy who has not played for two months is not necessarily back quicker than Bacary Sagna or another player who is just coming back from injury.

  57. W.A.T.H says:

How about buying a quality player then Mr Wenger and then when they all fit sell the worst one in a years time…?

    Problem solved old chap…….

That would mean spending money Mr Wath so fuck that idea….!

  58. Rockyrocastle07 says:

True Rico, but regardless of who comes in, we will never pay the wages that City do. ANd to be honest, I don’t want us to. Maybe increase the wage structure a bit, but the wages City throw at people is ridiculous. People only went there because it was a massive payday for them

  59. allezkev says:

    ESPaul, 12.49;
That’s a very good question mate.

This season, as far as the title is concerned, was lost because Gazides’ transfer business was conducted too late.

By the time reinforcements had arrived, 31st Aug, it was all over.

Next season is an interesting one Paul.

Fitness will have a big impact. That is if all our big players are fit, then i feel we could actually start really well.

Mert, Gerv, Ox, Ryo, Santos, will all have a year behind them.

    Campbell should have his work-permit.

Coq, Frim, Miquel, Yennaris, Afobe, Ramsey [ 🙂 ], Jenkinson, will all be a year older and more experienced.

    Wilshere should be flying.

And if RVP stays and Gazides does a couple of decent deals next August, then yes Paul, i do believe that we have a squad capable of mounting a challenge.
    And a serious challenge.

Winning the bloody thing is the Six Million Dollar question…

  60. STV says:

WATH do you know some dom Cobb exists any where. We need an inception in the old brain ” I will buy some good players “

  61. allezkev says:

Paul, i agree, we will almost always be outbidded for the really top top players.

But the petro-dollar clubs can’t buy everyone.

Arsenal were narrowly beaten by the Arabs twice this season.

The gap between us isn’t a huge as you think….

And they’ve spent about £500 million.

We have a great squad, all it’s needs is a touch more depth in quality.

    Replace the dead-wood.

  62. Rockyrocastle07 says:

That he is Rico… That he is! The fact he looks like Baron von Greenback is neither here nor there!

  63. lee says:

    we won’t pay 2 or 3 players £150k but quite happily pay NB,Diaby,Squil,waiter,MC,JD etc between £40k & £60k…

  64. lee says:

Wayne Bridge is shit….And he’d better watch out if he signs for us as I think his new bird is on Stan’s to be “nailed” list…. 😆

  65. rico says:

But it’s getting those two or three players AK, thats the tricky bit, yet so simple if we sell 4/5 players who give us little/nothing

  66. EastSidePaul says:

Hey Kev I hear what you are saying, but I do think the gap is that big! Just look at the league table, thats all we can judge. I just don’t see the “Big names” wanting to play for Arsenal, we can’t pay them, we can’t guarantee trophies. We have to bring in potential and pay them ridiculous money, sometimes it pays off, Henry, Vieira, Ljungberg and sometimes it doesn’t.. look at current squad for examples!

But we all know there are small problems everywhere (some quiet big!). Can’t afford players, won’t bring in players, medical team, board, formation, coaching, defence, size and physical presence of players etc.. They can all be fixed, but will they? I’m not so sure!

  67. lee says:

Maybe IG has already done deals for hazard/gotze/poldoski and we’re loaning them back to their respective clubs…. or b)

  68. STV says:

Rico I know where u come from.. We have a supposidly wealthy owner who hold > 65% share.. and over the years he had done absolutrly nothing good for the club and squashed it for profits..

It’s the one situation that nobody but he can help about.. what can we do other than hoping the other owner comes front and act !!

  69. rico says:

I’d rather Adibal lee, to fight like he has to be back in football says quite a lot about the kind of guy he is and the determination he must have….

  70. allezkev says:

Rico, i think we’ll end up taking a financial ‘hit’ on the dead-wood.

Reckon they’ll all be gone this summer.

  71. rico says:

Exactly Stv, we can only hope that someone else with a lot more ambition and passion for our club buys stan out….

i still don’t get why he turned down the financial help offered by AU, how pigheaded he must be….

    Lee, b)

I bet the only thing Citeh end up winning is the CC, that is of course if they can overcome the dippers….

  72. lee says:

In a heartbeat Abidal over bridge….we should of taken the hit on the dead wood last summer and bought 2/3 quality players not this 2 for 1 shite!

  73. allezkev says:

Paul, i’m not really sure that Arsenal have ever had a policy of buying the big names…

Almost every big name we’ve had in recent years, has been someone Wenger got early before he developed.

Or a big star who was in the midst of a crisis of confidence.

Wenger takes a chance on them and builds them up into a world star.

  74. devilgunner says:

I do hope all the deadwood is gone Sir AK.

Afternoon mon ami. Hope you are well.

    Good post once again.

  75. EastSidePaul says:

But we always had that option that big names would want to play for Arsenal,

Bergkamp, Reyes, Campbell even Arshavin, all big names and wanted to play for Arsenal.

Would loved to have seen Reyes stay.

  76. rico says:

Good, but one or two seasons toolate AK, better late than never though 😉

Good lee, was that guy in the red tie not meant to be with the judges…

  77. allezkev says:

Paul, cases in point were last summer.

    Hazard, Gotze, M’Vila.

All with huge potential. But we failed, just, to get them before they went mega…..

Now Wenger will be looking at the next lot, who we’ve probably never heard of.
Whilst the petro-dollar clubs, who are incapable of developing players, go for the expensive, easy option….

Imagine if McEachrane had been at Arsenal?

Those mugs couldn’t deverlop a player if he was the new Messi….

  78. allezkev says:

Tbh Paul, players want to play for Wenger…..

Lose him and we really will be up the creek, especially with our Boards salery policy….

  79. EastSidePaul says:

Kev I agree that Wenger can develop players, but those players you listed are still great players and we should still be able to sign them, the fact that we can’t means we will never be able to challenge the likes of City.
Buying players maybe the easy option but it wins titles.

  80. allezkev says:

Players don’t go to the Arabs because they’re desperate to play for Mancini.

AVB, when was the last time a player said he’d love to play for him?

    Arsenal aren’t the draw Paul, it’s Wenger…..

As much as it pains me to admit that mate… 😉

  81. STV says:

well said. the trend nw is every clubs go for arsenal targets, they know we are good in finding right players just dont have enuff balls to make deals.

  82. allezkev says:

STV, maybe that’s why Arsenal wait until the last day of the Window?

By then the Petro-dollar clubs have done their business.

  83. devilgunner says:

FFS mates. There are more than 22 world class players in the world. Even if shitty manage to buy 22 they cannot buy every superstar. With us Na$ri was a superstar. With shitty he is what exactly????? With 550million spent I would expect that if Yaya was moved from midfield he would still be replaced. With YAYA gone they have lost the midfield. Will they be able to get Messi????? I cant stop laughing because they wont. The problem with us is not that we dont have superstars. ITs the FUCKING DEAD WOOD THAT NEEDS TO BE CLEARED OUT that is the problem. Give me 11 players like Kozzer any day from Ligue 1.

  84. lee says:

We do all the spade work then they just go in and lift them…. I bet AW’s wish list is not far from who people on here say we should be looking at!

  85. allezkev says:

Lee, there’s a lot of misinformation flying about out there mate.

Arsenal know that they’ll get gazzumped at the drop of a hat, so maybe they put out false rumours or let wrong rumours run, to put the petro-dollar clubs on the wrong scent….

But do we really imagine that Shittie/Chavs didn’t already know about those players we’re also watching?
    They’re all over You-Tube.
And if we know them, then i’m sure they also know them….

  86. devilgunner says:

I agree Sir AK. They watch you tube like us. But we got the defender from the superpower of OMAN on a trial and they have not. 😆

    c ya lata

  87. allezkev says:

    See ya Devil.

Lee, there’s players out there, that Arsenal are scouting, that Jamie Sanderson doesn’t even know about…..

Koscielny, Jenkinson, Santos, i’d never heard of them……

All for less than the price of a Nasri… 😉

  88. rico says:

AK, think you are right about wenger, how many of the french lot would have signed if not for him?

And a mighty fine lot they were too….

Fido needs a walk, back in a while…

  89. EastSidePaul says:

How about we do something about the medical staff, we must have the worst medical team in the league, its no coincidence that every year we have a large number of players out for a long time.

  90. allezkev says:

Yes Paul, i agree with you there mate.

Didn’t the club open a new medical centre awhile back [ Sept i think ]..?

Mind you Paul, look at the injuries hitting the Mancs….

  91. allezkev says:

    Lee, 2.04;

It’s gone a bit quiet on Abidal.

Not sure Arsenal want to pay what Barca want for him?
    I did read £4.1 million….!

    31 isn’t he?

But a player who can fill in across the back-four.
Could pass on his experience to our younger full-backs, whilst not stopping their development.

  92. allezkev says:

Yes Paul, the Mancs do have a winning streak going through them.

But it is diluting, that’s why they got Scholes back outta retirement….

  93. DutchGooner10 says:

We are served a beggars banquet. Too much policy tradition to change the menu. Tirelessly scouting for hidden gems navigates us away from additions that play an immediate role. Household names are rejected to accumulate the karma of potential. We filter endlessly, rivals just scoop the net.

For supporters patience has overstayed its welcome. Yet the board complains about it’s burial costs and blame it on the price of living.

Ambition cost money, intentions can be bought cheap.

    Team News: Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Coquelin

Arsène Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of Sunday’s trip to Swansea.

    on the team news…
Djourou’s suspension is over so he is back. Apart from that, nobody is coming back from injury. We have the same squad available apart from Marouane Chamakh, who has gone to the African Cup of Nations and Gervinho as well. Robin van Persie is back in the squad and so is Thierry Henry.

    on Francis Coquelin…
He is out of three weeks. He will miss Sunday and Manchester United. There is possibility he will be back for the game after.

    on Thomas Vermaelen…
We have a big hope that he will be back for Manchester United.

    on Rosicky and Mertesacker…
They were sick. They have still not joined the squad and I will make a decision on them tomorrow.

  95. rico says:

Didn’t you just know that would happen AK 😉

Is he that good though? Not sure we should be downhearted, maybe a bit pleased 😉

  96. allezkev says:

Rico, tbh, i’d never heard of him before we were linked.

After Alvarez, we maybe shouldn’t be suprised…

Apparantly it would have been difficult to get him a work permit anyway…

  97. allezkev says:

SSP, you’ll be glad to know that i had another erection today…. 😉

A bit out of the blue, but the opportunity arose, and before i knew it i was fully involved….

Now i’m just relaxing. As ya do…..

  98. rico says:

I actually don’t think Wenger is far wrong there AK… How many fixtures get chaged just to suit SS’s or ESPN, and it happened to us in the new year…

  99. allezkev says:

That’s it, Rico, and we all know that Liverpool and ManUre get preferencial treatment.
Maybe we can now add the Scummers to the club?

  100. allezkev says:

SlySports have a business arrangement with the Scousers and ManUre over their InterNet.

A case of ‘You scatch my back etc’….

  101. rico says:

what, with ‘arry as their boss, no chance AK, they will do all they can to help him and his cack lot…

i like the fact that their players have started to spout off, we all know how quickly that comes back to bite on the butt – i’ll be cheering citeh and manure all the way to the title if we can’t win it 😉

  102. allezkev says:

No Steve, just saw my neighbour, who gave me the nod, and we was soon at it like the clappers… :P:

    Only took us two hours…..

  103. rico says:

you got the ‘clappers AK 🙁 🙁 😉

    Evening Stevie P 🙂

I think his media mates will steer clear as the evidence unfolds….

  104. rico says:

Harry Redknapp and Milan Mandaric face trial on 23 January next year relating to allegations of cheating the public revenue.

Redknapp denies any wrongdoing but would have good reason for his mind to be on other matters when Tottenham Hotspur take on the current Premier League leaders, Manchester City, at the Etihad Stadium the day before the proceedings begin.

The timing of the trial may interfere with his club’s preparations for the Premier League matches against Wigan Athletic and Liverpool, and, should Spurs qualify, the fourth round of the FA Cup on 28 January.

Redknapp and Mandaric, the owner of Sheffield Wednesday, both face two counts of cheating the public revenue. Their alleged offences relate to tax payments due while the pair were respectively manager and chairman of Portsmouth.

The indictment laid down by prosecutors states: “Mandaric and Redknapp, between 1 April 2002 and 28 November 2007, with intent to defraud and to the prejudice of HM Revenue and Customs, arranged for $145,000, paid by Mandaric as a result of or in connection with Redknapp’s employment and as a reward for services, to be transferred to a Monaco bank account opened by Redknapp for that purpose, in order to conceal the said emolument from HM Revenue and Customs and evade the payment of income tax and national insurance contributions thereon (whether by the operation of PAYE by the club or otherwise).”

  105. DutchGooner10 says:

Hi all. Back from the market. Beer, chips and 1,2,3 *PING* meal is ready.

AK Love your neighbor, but don’t get caught. 😉

  106. stevepalmer1 says:

I had one of them erections a while back AK trouble was it never stayed up for too long. we try not to bring it up now 🙂

  107. DutchGooner10 says:

Sadly I have no neighbors that give me an erection. Although they did offer taking their teeth out.

    Rico 🙂

  108. DutchGooner10 says:

Yep AK. Coffee is my life support. Love these English sound bites.

Found written on a restroom wall once: Life sucks, but then again so does your girlfriend! 🙂 🙂

  109. allezkev says:

Steve, thank heavens Rico isn’t having sausages eh?

    DG10, i knew you’d get there in the end….. 😉

STV, not in garden mate, not in this weather…. :P:

  110. STV says:

ha ha I got the wrong memo then 😉 (may be cz weather is suitabl at my place 😉 )

I heard stan is off to Barbados as a part of his new commonwealth nailing mission 😉

  111. allezkev says:

Hey Stevo, do you recall the German Gooner called Ben, who was on here a couple of months ago?

We were all going on about Podolski, and he didn’t rate him at all.

But Ben mentioned this Drexler kid, and really rated him.

If your out there Ben, get off of those Bundesliga blogs and come back to give us a view on this kid….. snell 😉

  112. rico says:

    You boys chilled yet 😉

Thats what i love about here, when the footie is dull we can still have fun – isn’t that what life is meant to be all about…. 🙂

  113. rico says:

    Hey DG10,

it’s my pleasure, I and we all are really lucky to have such a fab family of bloggers here – so thanks to you all….

  114. rico says:

Anyway, naughty or not, i’m off to catch up on Pat 😉

Be good all, stay safe and catch you all tomorrow….

Thanks all for another good day in HH….

    Nighty night

  115. allezkev says:

    Good night Rico….. 😉

    Night Steve…… :P:

Night DG10, no more funny fags ok… 😉

    Smudge, i guess that’s a wind-up mate….?

  116. allezkev says:

Looks as if Rangers are cooling off over taking Afobe on loan as he isn’t fit yet.

Fair enough, Scotland must be full of talented strikers….

  117. Joaquim Moreira says:

    back again…
    Cissokho? 😉
so, for sunday are out: Sagna,Santos,Gibbs,Jenkinsson,Mats,Wilshere,Diaby,Rosicky.Fripong (I know, he is on loan),Gervinho,Chamack, coquelin… ok Almunia..12 players!
If Park can’t “find” a place on the bench this sunday with 12 injuries, what have he does with us? 12 injuries+11 playing + 6 more on the bench=29. So we have one more goalkeeper, he will be, perhaps the 31th player…

  118. devilgunner says:

Pretty good. very cold here but a couple of runs and voila…..got warm all over.

Do you think it is true about Cissoko???

  119. allezkev says:

Yeah, it’s getting cold over here again….

So the exercise did me good today…..
Although it wasn’t as exciting as Dutch thought.. :P:

Think the Cissoko is a wind-up mate.
Not heard anymore about the Omani, how could they get him a work permit anyway?
