West Brom want Steve Bould! No Rain on our Parade……

2014 FA Cup Winners...
2014 FA Cup Winners…

Morning all and what a wonderful morning it is too….

No longer is it 3,283 days and counting!

No longer is it a nine-year wait which has become unbearable!

No longer can Arsene Wenger be mocked as being a ‘specialist in failure’.

No, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal FC have finally put to bed all of that stupid stuff which the media/press have loved to taunt us with over the years….

There were doubts as we went 2-0 down within eight minutes….

But then……

Awesome Santi....
Awesome Santi….

And then there was….

Kos the battler.....
Kos the battler…..

Phew, but extra time was required….

It was only Aaron Ramsey....
It was only Aaron Ramsey….

So that was it, Aaron Ramsey’s goal during extra time was enough to win the FA Cup….

And finally……

The Big Jug is ours.....
The Big Jug is ours…..

Well done Arsenal!!

What a wonderful day, a great result and a fantastic way to end our season.

A pretty good one wasn’t it…..

Now for a great summer transfer window and push onwards and upwards…….

Have a great day guys and gals and enjoy the parade if you are going…..

COYRRG’S!!!

Aw staying will be an influence… re Sagna

Interesting Arteta saying AW contract issue was playing on the players minds…

  2. Scott From Oz says:

    Oh what a night!
    What a result.
Arsenal do nothing easy, so why are surprised we made such hard work of that, but oh, the joy.
    I am floating…..

  3. tsgh says:

Arsène Wenger now level with Sir Alex Ferguson & Thomas Mitchell in winning 5 FA Cups. “I’m in good company.

Good to see Pat Rice well and in the dressing room congratulating the players…

  4. tsgh says:

    Season summary..

    Giroud: 22 (in 51)
    Ramsey: 16 (in 34)
    Podolski: 12 (in 27)
    Özil: 7 (in 41)
    Cazorla: 7 (in 46)
    Walcott: 6 (in 18

Games per goals not doing much for OG12 but shots per goal world class…

  5. Kc says:

Somebody wake me up,think I’m dreaming..even the death of grand dad yesterday was not enough to fuck the day up

  6. Kc says:

Here in Nigeria, the fans are singing,”please mourinho let us have your bus for the trophy parade..priceless

  7. Hell Raiser says:

Fine morning to you all. I feel we are all grinning from ear to ear.

Now AW needs to invest and bulk the squad.

But I liked Sanogo in his brief appearance yesterday. I think there is a brain in their. He needs composure and to improve his finishing. But he does know how to be in the right place at the right time.

  8. Lee says:

FFS it’s been 14.5 hours since we won a trophy!!!
I’d like to stove Maureenho’s head in with our new silverware!!!
My head is banging like I’ve been kicked by a horse!! I suppose I’ll have to blow the froth off a couple today!!

  9. Lee says:

    Chavs… Fuck all
    Manure…Fuck all
    Dippers…Fuck all
    Toffees…Fuck all
    Spuds…Same as every year!!!
The shadow gets bigger and bigger!!!!!!!

  10. tsgh says:

    Indeed Dev…

We need another box to box player like Morgan or a fit Diaby.. based on how Ramsey playing deep made the whole team appear blunt…

I like Ath’s Gabi too but too expensive I guess

However, if AW sees that statso etc are reporting that Arteta made the highest number of tackles in a single match highest in the last 10 years he might not buy a DM…

  11. tsgh says:

    That pass was sublime Kc,

2 in 2 games for both players… his pass to Ar16 last weekend was also breathe taking…

  12. Bt62 Gooner says:

Mate just of the phone at the town hall already, party on!!! Sunshine and a big cup!!! F**kin Priceless!!!

  13. Kc says:

Thank you Rico..TS..I love Morgan but we need a pacy world class striker and a rb who can play CB if sagna Leaves

  14. rico says:

At least I remembered how to change HH background and header, and I was far from in control of my facilities 😆

  15. Kc says:

TS..I’m from the eastern part, enugu to be precise..guess you are from Ghana, have many friends plying their trades at Ghana

  16. rico says:

Hate to say this on such a good day, but Fabianski had a bit of a mare yesterday.

    Nerves maybe….

  17. Kc says:

TS and Scott..please tell Rambo to forgive me for doubting his ability..he is realy a football and stat monster..

  18. tsgh says:

kc, in my view kanu, db10, wiltord were not that faster than og12…

we just need options upfront imho…

A fast one will be a bonus but in the end its about quality.. I am not a big fan of fans all of a sudden thinking we should be following the Liver-pood model…

Negredo, Dzeko, Aguero are not 100m sprinters themselves..

As I always say in the big games the midfielders need to turn up… we need more scorers from midfield.

I am from Ghanaian but Born and raised in Old Street London, N1 and Brixton SW London…

  19. tsgh says:

I will ask one of my friends here about Enugu…

Hope you cherish the memories of your gran father…

  20. rico says:

Have to say Ts, I totally disagree re the way forward. Pace and quality will win us more games and certainly against those clubs around us…

Also think Dennis and Wiltord were both a lot quicker than Giroud in their prime….

Kanu could cover ground quickly too, similar to Adebayor…

  21. tsgh says:

Very true that goal line clearance was very Ashleycole-esque…

3 nil would have been a mountain too high to climb over..

  22. Hell Raising Devil says:

I still say that if Sagna stays then AW should sign Aurier but not a CB. Sagna can increase his playing life if he does like Maldini did……become a CB. And lets face it. He does know the way the team plays.

But we need Arteta to be replaced. With a beast. And yes we do need another b2b midfielder. When TR07 came on he breathed a new life.

And I like the fact that he turned it around for us by giving us the impetus we needed.

  23. Lee says:

Talk about do it the hard (Arsenal) way? Must of been a good game for the neutral, I on the other hand wanted strangle people!

  24. rico says:

Spot on re Tomas Devil, and Jack too. Both gave us something we seriously needed at that stage of the game. Good subs by AW..

  25. Kc says:

TS..they may not be faster than giroud but they are far better in quality ad I think playing in a more balance and quality team helped them too…I agreed with you on needing options..will you like Remy and or vela

  26. Lee says:

    Coach I 100% agree with your 10:37!
We need a couple of quick players up front without a shadow of a doubt!

  27. Lee says:

Think of the amount of goals a striker like Aguero would score for us?? BT pass that Moroccan woodbine over here!

  28. Sukky says:

My head is so big now that my neck is really crying for help.Hang v over is a bitch!HEY kc,I don’t know we have another nigerian here…And pls can we enjoy today without any stupid transfer news?

  29. tsgh says:

    ok Rico 😉

But saying lazy Ade ba-whore covers more ground than OG12 we have to agree to disagree there imho… he is definitely faster if he was to though 🙂

I always rated Kanu from day one but he was never mobile.. I remember watching him in 1992 against Ghana in the Olympic games when he scored the winner in the final to win the brothers from Nig the gold and he was slow but what he had was having the ability to make the ball stick to his size 13/14’s like glue…

Even at Ajax, Kanu was told by Sir Bobby he was slow…

Lets hope Aw has his mojo back re scouting and recruiting…

Lets enjoy the day; we will ahve 90 or so more days for transfer talk… 😀

  30. Kc says:

I agree with Rico 10:35..started watching Arsenal FC from 2005 so can’t comment on laby and wiltord but from DVDs and youtubes..I think they are faster than Giroud…IMO replacing Giroud will be tough because he is very integral to our system of play..IMO

  31. rico says:

Sukky, transfer stories are all part and parcel of the closed season, why not just enjoy them and have a laugh along the way…

  32. Scott From Oz says:

Ok, everyone can now stop congratulating me on Aaron…..all I did was added two and two together 🙂
Let us just ALL congratulate Wenger on playing him when others thought he shouldn’t, but most importantly, the young man himself who has risen from the depths to scoring an FA Cup winning goal to break our drought.
Let us rejoice in one of the worlds best footballers.
He was very average yesterday, and his shots earlier were woeful, but the composure he showed, all things considered, showed he is now the complete package, and not just “potentially” a great player.
    Done….proud…..you bloody ripper!!

  33. tsgh says:

I always like Remy Kc, anytime I mentioned him on here last summer I was told I needed to aim higher so… 🙂

Aguero scored as many goals as OG12 in a far superior squad allegedly… he was always unwell; imagine getting run into the ground by AW…

Unless peeps will admit AW makes players better. 😛

  34. rico says:

Arsenal: Haven’t won a trophy for 9 years

Barcelona: Haven’t not won a trophy since 2008.

    They haven’t now 🙂

  35. ktr7 says:

You know what makes it even more satisfying?…just look at this bitter piece of journalism from the Guardian match report…

Strictly speaking Arsène Wenger is no
longer a specialist in failure, though his
team still look a long way short of the
Arsenal of old and it is debatable
whether being pushed all the way by
Wigan in the semi and now Hull in the
final amounts to the sort of success that
    can be crowed about.

you can taste the sour grapes from miles away…

  36. Scott From Oz says:

Oh, and a massive congratulations to EVERYONE on a Highbury House, because no matter how bad things got, regardless of how much we were at each other’s throats, the love of The Arsenal shone through, and we can all sit back and enjoy the moment.
Thanks Rico for starting this wonderful group…..you don’t know how much it has given some dumb arse Aussie!!

  37. rico says:

    Hi snaparse..

Scott – couldn’t agree more, that was possibly one of the worst performances from Ramsey all season yet when it mattered, he took his chance and that’s class..

Shame Gibbs didn’t find the back of the net with his chance, would possibly made him motm after his clearance and overall performance…

    Thought Santi was good too….

  38. ktr7 says:

That match yesterday may not have been pleasant viewing for the fans but the experience our players will get from that game is invaluable.it is better for them than a routine 4 nil win.

  39. Sukky says:

At 3-2,that breathtaking moment when aluko played a shot wide.If would have been an own goal for gibbs.

  40. snaparse says:

agree Rico…….don’t want to sound harse but there is a reason Bayern bought lewa even when the had madzukic…..we really can do with a giroud upgrade..

  41. Kc says:

TS..we have to aim higher, we are the bloody Arsenal..saying that I will take Remy over Sanogo..and AW makes players better..ozil will reach double figures next season…watch this space

  42. tsgh says:

Snap some win some lose… Klopp and bvb bottled it again last night.

Going to visit a friend in a mo’ to rub it in… he would have done the same to me if we would have lost.. 😀

  43. ktr7 says:

Seeing Wenger kiss sagna’s forehead as he prayed at the final whistle was truly a sight to behold.please stay Bac.

  44. Sukky says:

Because its all lie….well let have a laugh at it.The daily mirrior reported arsenal has made a 70million bid for C.ronaldo.

  45. Hell Raising Devil says:

We rose like a phoenix yesterday. From the ashes and hurt of the past 9 years encapsulated in the first 10 minutes to the present Arsenal. We were dead and buried yet we hauled ourselves from hell.

  46. snaparse says:

santi took charge when it mattered never seen him so determined …….I’m always the first to criticize him sometimes but he made me look silly last night….koss is a big game player and proved once again that he is a top top defender…..plus sanogo(I know I know) really changed the game and put himself about and that made us look better was impressed with him too

  47. tsgh says:

Lol Kc…I have no sense of entitlement something state school in inner london did not instil in me… 🙂

I believe AW is a specialist at making good players -very very good or world class.

He struggles to make very good players… world class though.. that is why I don’t mind how much or the name of the player so far as he gives 100% every match day

  48. snaparse says:

true ts……I don’t have anything against giroud but there is a reason he has such poor stat against teams

  49. ktr7 says:

Ts Dortmund were denied a perfectly legitimate goal though…but in extra time they bottled it.

Shout out to Athletico too.Losing Turan and Costa within minutes then going a goal down things looked bleak but am so glad they pulled it off in the end.

  50. ktr7 says:

haha rico.you can bet they were desperate for us to lose so that they could now say its been a decade.

  51. tsgh says:

Kt if you mention any Barca players name Agag will get the hump… 🙂

I rated him at Udinese.. a proper counter attacking player then… a bit of a winger/striker though

Dev, phoenix? you sound like a maltese cross holder.. 😛

  52. Scott From Oz says:

Rico, that’s a fair point, but admin can make or break a group, and you know my thoughts on you as admin 🙂
Ginge, Santi played a massive one in a massive game, mate…let’s hope it is the first of many.
To see him step up to that free kick was brilliant.

  53. tsgh says:

AW could give Alexis a breathe of life though..

Last summer I mentioned I heard AW was after him and Negredo…

The Suarez deal messed up every thing…

  54. tsgh says:

Scott- I was telling a gentleman and his wife the same yesterday…

You know me and my big mouth I was telling peeps around me before k.o he would bottle it but I ate humble pie…

  55. tsgh says:

As I posted then he scored a similar one for Villareal against RM… normally Riquelme or Bobby Pires would have taken a free kick in such an area

  56. tsgh says:

Kt- I feel sorry for Klopp.. some bvb fans want him out…

They say he should have agreed to selling lew like Aw did with RvP…

  57. ktr7 says:

I wonder if Cesc felt the same level of satisfaction winning trophies at Barca despite being just a squad player unlike Ramsey who was directly involved in winning yesterday?

  58. tsgh says:

    Exactly Kt…

When I say its about the journey/ride… some may disagree but in all walks of life reaping from an honest day job is more satisfying than being a cheat imho…

Like in uni if you copy someone’s work and score 77% its not as satisfying as doing your own work and getting 62%… talking from experience I guess not.. 😛

  59. ktr7 says:

Ts I honestly think Wenger sees a Suarez type of forward in Alexis.at Udinese he looked fantastic but he has stalled at Barca.he can also play anywhere in the front 3 with or without Giroud.

We need to increase our firepower though.its imperative we do.

  60. Kc says:

Kt..Cesc was just a part of team that won trophy..Ramsey is the team that won a Trophy..I love the alexis rumuor though can’t see it happening…but….he scored a cracker yesterday

  61. Kc says:

Like in uni if you copy
    someone’s work and score
77% its not as satisfying as
    doing your own work and
    getting 62%…..Lol..very very true

  62. Sukky says:

Why didn’t you guys appreciate?Giroud may not be your cup of tea but the guy is handworking, committed and he’s a target man not a box to box striker. You guys want henry?well! Open ya eyes and you will realize their is no such striker again because football has change a lot.I love OG12 not because he’s beautiful but because I know what he offers this team.Leading the line is not easy.In my opinion the team we had when VP played his last season was pretty playing to VP’s strenght.VP can’t run either but their are plenty of through ball, tap in from gervinho and walcot. This arsenal team just make it hard.Is it change in wenger tactic?I’d say YES.

  63. tsgh says:

    I agree Kt…

At Udinese Alexi use to pick up the ball in his own half counter and score; opposition playerswere scared to death when he had arces infront of him.. with his speed and low centre of gravity…phew
I remember Mourinho getting Zanetti to man mark him out of a game like Jose would do… 🙂

So typical but Jose is a tactician I hear.. 🙂

  64. Scott From Oz says:

    🙂 Rico.
Ginge, I knew you’d man up lol
Still, you were right to question him, but that was a massive leap yesterday.
KT, there is nothing like coming put of tough times and finding success, and that’s why this group will cherish this win.

  65. tsgh says:

Scott, I am always man enough to always apologise even if I don’t think I need to… and fess up too.. 🙂

I will admit if I am wrong… just don’t ask my mrs? 😛

  66. Kc says:

Agreed sukky..giroud is among our top five best players this season and his fitness level is ridiculous

  67. ktr7 says:

Can you imagine having Sanchez Theo and Ox as a forward line in the counter … I think if wenger wants him he’ll play through the middle like he did at Udinese and for Chile.he is a fantastic dribbler and would be handy when teams park the bus.

  68. Scott From Oz says:

I know it’s not the ideal time, but a proud dad moment, if you will 🙂
Sean and six school mates played an U/8’s tournament today.
Easy games early on, but the semi was a cracker of a game, and the final even better.
They came up against what is renowned as the best U/8’s squad in. NSW based on various tournament results.
Well, our thrown together side who train together, but rarely play together, stuck It to them, only going down in extra time by golden goal.
The highlight….Sean tearing through the pack and hitting a corker of a drive in the top left corner.
These kids are phenomenal, and without sounding bitchy, the refereeing was worse in the final than the Arsenal copped yesterday 🙂

  69. Hell Raising Devil says:

The 1st half was like seeing the last 9 years of hurt and gaffes all in a 45 minute film.

Having Flappy in goal added to the spice.

However, dead and buried as we were, we managed to rise again Ginge. Suffice to say that the game changer was TR07. He released AR16 from the shackles which were hindering him.

  70. David says:

Wenger messed up buying players for the last two summers, he will do the same with cheppo signings this summer.Ozil wasdue to fans reaction after not spending last summer remember?

  71. Kc says:

TS..he we so obsessed with di Maria the same way you ARR with midfielders Having to turn up..Ramsey is not the welsh Vidal..he is the welsh Jesus

  72. rico says:

Sukky, you need to read what most of us are saying again. We want to sign someone different to Giroud, someone quicker than Giroud, someone to play alongside or in different games to Giroud..

    Giroud can’t do it all….

  73. Scott From Oz says:

Hell Raiser, how goes it 🙂
You need to head down under mate, as you’d love to see coach some of the young talent here!

  74. ktr7 says:

By the way santi was fantastic yesterday especially in our build up play.

Rico and thats why am excited by the Sanchez rumours who is more of the Suarez mode type of forward.he can play with or in place of Giroud.

  75. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Hiya Scott.

you can head all over the world and see talent in the young age. Up till the age of 13 all the children have awesome talent. Its what comes after which makes/breaks them.

  76. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, is that because the kids with talent are NOT taught the basics though, at an early age?
Maybe it only shows up later?
    Just a thought.

  77. Hell Raising Devil says:

    yes and no Scott.

some kids are never taught the basics

some kids are taught the wrong basics

some kids are stifled by parents and coaches

some kids grow up in the wrong environment

some kids have the wrong attitude

Once I used to teach a 13 year old kid who had he been given the right coaching would have made it in Italy I am sure of it. yet his friends contrived to send him lying down face up in a grave….substance abuse. This guy was a natural. he had it all. Yet instead of going to see him play I went to his funeral at 15 years of age.

  78. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, that’s a terribly sad story, and such a waste.
From my point of view, I see the type of coaching Sean now receives as ideal, as it’s all about improving the individual, and not winning games.
This tournament was more to get the kids some competition that they crave more than anything else.
A long way to go, no doubt, but we are enjoying the ride, and he is simply loving his life.
    Long may it continue.

  79. Hell Raising Devil says:

that is the ideal way Scott. Keep him there for as much as possible…he will benefit in the long run.

I am that type of coach. The boy before the game. The individual before the result.

I suffered a lot in my coaching life, because I always put the boys before the games and results. However I do not regret one single moment of it all.

  80. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, he is there until 17 years of age……..year 12 🙂
Well, unless Arsene comes knocking 🙂

  81. Scott From Oz says:

The squad he played against in the final were all about winning.
Parents and coaching staff were at them the whole time.
It makes me sick, to be honest.

  82. Scott From Oz says:

How are you feeling today, Adam?
I came up with tired….excited….relieved….pumped…..relieved…and tired lol.
I put in a 24 hour shift without sleep to watch the game, but it was worth every second of it.

  83. Adam says:

Scott. We met Kev for breakfast in a Bombay cafe so I had a chance to liven up. We made our way to Highbury but the crowds and the heat were mental. I
hope you and the family are well mate. When are you coming over again?

  84. Lee says:

    BBQ weather in north Essex!!
Best moment was a spud text me when we were 2-0 down giving it the big un!!! I had to return the favour after the final whistle!!!

  85. Adam says:

Brudder. Lovely mate. Spicy omelette with chilli and Coriander and some bacon, toast and coffee. Wish you could have been there.

  86. goonster says:

Stop it adam…making my mouth work are ya…hey ginge videos please. Is theo really on the bus?

  87. Scott From Oz says:

Lee, I was with my brothers and dad, as well as a few teammates who are Scousers.
    Weren’t they giving to me!
    And then they weren’t hahahaha

  88. rico says:

Bt, I’m sorry, I have no idea what’s gong on with wordpress…

Adam, back with a bang 😉

  89. Adam says:

She did Lee. Until the champagne arrived that is…..then I lost control of the situation. 🙂

  90. rico says:

I too got my own back after our 5-1 loss at Anfield abuse:

‘At least we didn’t choke at the end’…..

  91. ozgunner says:

The feeling of relief is huge, god knows what it must be like for the team and management. At last. Now for some serious transfer business including talking Sagna around.

  92. Scott From Oz says:

Just watching the replay…..is it just me, or does Jack look trimmed down and fitter than ever before??

  93. rico says:

I’m not surprised Adam, it must be baking in the City…

I loved the food in Dishoom and the nice big table 🙂

  94. ozgunner says:

Scott – although no one wanted to be 2-0 down to come back from there just adds to the belief surely? Seeing Wenger kissing Sagna’s head followed by his tweet, really gives us all heart, maybe just maybe things can be different from here on in.

  95. Scott From Oz says:

Oz, Sagnas comments offered hope, though it might have been the emotions….
    And Aaron just scoooooooooored 🙂

  96. Scott From Oz says:

Funny, Oz, but I swear, as loud as I cheered Aaron banging that in, I’m sure you’d have heard me from your place when Sean drilled it in the top corner this afternoon!

  97. ozgunner says:

hahah ohhhh was that you? Jesus you have a gob on you son! Things look very good for your boy, tread carefully my mate is my advice and i am sure you know what you are doing.

  98. Scott From Oz says:

Oz, I am just sitting back relaxing and letting Sean be a kid.
This coaching side of things is well under control, and we just keep him smiling 🙂

  99. Scott From Oz says:

    I’m off to bed.
I shall sleep soundly in the knowledge that nobody can mention a drought….9 Years….no more trophies under Wenger etc etc etc.
Damn I feel good, and so we all should.
    Goodnight, fellow Housers.

  100. goonster says:

We won the league at shite hart lane…we won the league at shite hart lane…..Oooooh to be…oooh to be….ooooooh to be a gooner.

  101. tsgh says:

    Lol dev… Shackles eh?
Scott, you need to bring your lil boy down next time for a kick around before I lose my Sammer touch…
I am rumming it down my chav step father in laws throat…
He wants Jose out for the most boring brand of football…
Everyone is beginning to see Jose picks his battles only for his ego…

  102. rico says:

    🙂 Oz…

🙂 Lee, did you see Merts giving Theo a piggyback?

And Merts singing was awesome, if not bloody awful…. lol

  103. ozgunner says:

there were many questions asked when he shifted camps Rico but the kid knew what he was doing and is reaping the rewards, the rule changes were always going to put the merc’s amongst it and they invested their money in the best – the manufacturer also deserves great credit

  104. ozgunner says:

tsgh – 🙂 even seen photo’s of the playboy and his misses today – looks like another bridge mended

  105. ozgunner says:

ok guys, few hours sleep and off to work – my first shift as FA Cup Champions – yeah that’s what i am talkin’ bout! Night all

  106. Gunnerdna says:

She wore, she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon, she wore it for the fans who are far, far away. So happy for all connected to Arsenal we deserve this moment.

  107. Xr!s says:

Congrats to Arsenal and everyone associated with the club. Not yet up to 24 hours before we last won a trophy. I’m surprised no one talked about the class of Kos and Mert showed yesterday – both lifted the CUP together – it was one of the best Moments of yesterday. I’m so proud. We now transfer our trophyless baton to _____?

  108. rico says:

Micah Richards touting a move to us:

    Micah Richards ✔ @MicahRichards
    Follow
Congrats to arsenal for the win today! A club who try do things the right way! arsene wenger the great

  109. rico says:

Gdna, goodness knows how so many were missed, thankfully we are not left highlighting them after a loss on such a huge day…

  110. Adam says:

Surely not Rico. How could he miss all that for a few hours. Now if you said he was in front of a mirror I might believe it.

  111. Adam says:

He didn’t appear at the Emirates turnout.
Yes, he was never as ‘good’ after he got caught out. 🙂

  112. rico says:

That’s interesting then, only one not to show…

No, didn’t do hi a lot of good did it. Mind you, nor did having one striker to choose from all season….

  113. Adam says:

Rico. Considering the single striker thing and the critical injury situations, Arsenal ended up being the second most successful club, after Man City, this season. Remarkable really.

  114. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Afternoon all
so, we have more the Charity Shield for win next season.
    One more match.
    Our season start very early

  115. rico says:

    Afternoon JM, I forgot that.

Be interesting to see how we line up compared to City.

Early start and so soon after the WC finishes…

Lets hope Holland and Uruguay or Argentina are in the final… 😉

  116. BrainwashedKev says:

    It’s been a long 10 years, since 2004 and I last enjoyed an Arsenal open-top bus parade…

It was like 1989 all over again…

Had a fantastic day, BFG was like a German Tony Adams on the bus…
    A true Gunner…

Excellent breakfast in excellent company and spent the rest of the afternoon with my son, reminiscing about past celebrations…

    What a wonderful day…

It’s almost 4 years since I came on Highbury House and this is our first silver wear…
The first of many in the near future I suspect…

Thank you Rico, it’s all down to you…,

  117. rico says:

Sounds like the perfect day Kev…

Thank you for your kind words and I am so pleased to have brought many people together who would become such good friends……….

  118. allezkev says:

It’s easy for us as fans, to get caught up in the emotion of the moment, and to convince ourselves that the players feel the same way…
In some cases and in a small way, some of them do develop a love for the club…
But in most cases, it is simply a job, and we just have to accept that reality…

Bacary Sagna might have had some second thoughts over that last couple of days.
Winning a trophy can make the most cynical of us misty eyed…

But once he is with his French World Cup chums and the spectre of money raises it’s ugly head, then I’m afraid that as much as I’d like him to stay, that in truth, he’ll be as mercenary as Robin Van Persie, who kissed the badge, then shit on us…

Sagna to stay is a lovely thought.
But I suspect that he’ll line up with a different team in 3 months time…
A shame for us, and for him…

  119. rico says:

You never know though Kev, he’s said he hopes to sort something out…

    Can’t see it myself but….

I was watching the Emirates celebrations and all the time hoping he’d grab the mic and tell us all he was staying…..

  120. Lee says:

I like it when BFG signalled to Kozza and they lifted the cup simultaneously! Wonderful sight!

  121. AndrewH13 says:

Nearly 24 hours gone, still smiling, going for a celebratory curry, then going to watch last nights recorded highlights when get home 🙂

  122. rico says:

Make sure Sky Sports is turned up loud Lee…

And count how many times they say ‘nine years’… 😉

  123. allezkev says:

Just done job to off Highbury Grove, the pubs are still rammo, full of red & white shirts…

Funny how all those Chelsea and new Liverpool shirts are suddenly yesterday’s attire.
    Conspicuous by there absence….
    Or is it their??? 😀

  124. vernat1066 says:

Great Win, we have to do things the hard way though and I thought OG was man of the match his work rate was amazing yesterday put Podolski to shame but then so did Sonogo as well.

I think Lucas might well move on in the summer he seems to miss that spark that seperates the very good from the great probably no definitely more talent than OG and Sonogo but just something missing.

Anyway great day and i hope that the club enjoyt it and look at the reaction and go for it in the summer, let have more days like these please.

  125. tsgh says:

Some good news for Stan… Hamburg survive relegation today… Djourou will complete £2.5m move to Germans in summer – Slomka activated release clause in April..

  126. tsgh says:

    Enough said Monsieur Wenger… simply a gent…

Wenger: “Our players are great but our fans are even greater. Have a good summer & come back & support us next year.

Every single fan sang “Bacary Sagna, we want you to stay!” And Arsène started cheering. Think he might stay you know.

  127. tsgh says:

    I didn’t see Boro yesterday..

    Was he on the parade?

I will be glad to see his back… 😉

  128. rogerbij says:

oh happy days oh happy days are back again!! Come Arsenal kick on again, lets make winning trophies a habit because it feels soo good!!

(ps Wenger get some business done before the WC)

  129. vernat1066 says:

Did anyone here AW’s interview before the game? He can still fit into his 2005 suit, eats the same diet as the players and wont go out 48 hours before a match not even for a meal I believe the word is Obsessive.

He has done this routine his entire career as a manager I hope now he can go out have a good meal a few drinks and just relax and enjoy it which is what we are all trying to do.

  130. Micko says:

tsgh, woke up with what felt like a bullet lodged in my brain this morning, otherwise it’s all tickety-boo.
Was looking at some photo’s I took back in the 2001/02 double winning parade, it was roasting that day as well, I’m starting to get all nostalgic or just getting old.

  131. agirlagunner says:

I realize I’m late to the party (hic), but man, was that some win! 😛

Still can’t believe it. 🙂 From saying that Arsenal has not won anything in nine years, the media is now saying, Arsenal which has only won one trophy in nine years. Ha!! Bitter people!!

  132. tsgh says:

    lol…

Roy Keane on afc players throwing Wenger in the air: “I wish we threw Alex Ferguson up & didn’t catch him.

  133. agirlagunner says:

Hiya, rico. The media are tiresome. But then we always knew that.

Hope Bac stays!! 🙂 Loved everyone serenading him. 😉

Our Germans always look like they’re having the greatest time celebrating. Poldi and Per, in particular. 🙂 🙂

  134. allezkev says:

So pleased for Cazorla, he had always had the quality and for long periods yesterday he carried our midfield…

    A quality quality footballer…

  135. rico says:

    They are so anal agag…

Hope all the fans/players signing to Bac pulled at his heartstrings and he stays…

  136. allezkev says:

I think we have a wonderful group of players and although I realised if’s unlikely, I want all of them to stay…
Just add to the squad and make it capable of sustaining a title challenge…

£2.5m for Djourou would represent good business imo…

  137. rico says:

Spot on Kev and a player too readily criticised…

Yesterday he proved he was a big game player with a huge performance. Always loved him. Always…

  138. agirlagunner says:

Boo, Kev!! Cazorla was my MotM, too… His goal gave us a lifeline! Big game player or what? 😉

  139. allezkev says:

Fabianski is gone, but if the club could manage to retain Sagna, Vermaelen and Podolski, then that would be amazing…

    All we’d need then would be a goalkeeper, a fcuk-off striker and a Def/Mid…

  140. agirlagunner says:

    V10, I hadn’t realized Bruce had such a big belly. 😀

Keane doesn’t hold back, doesn’t he? And he alwaaays takes a dig at Fergie.

  141. tsgh says:

    Hiya Agag.. I missed… how are you…

I am very tired.. a day pulling childish pranks and teasing all those bin-dippers and chavs I know…

When I heard that rico, I had to replay it again because I thought I was imagining things as usual.. 🙂

  142. Adam says:

I’d like to see the back of a couple of them but Santi is a proper footballer. Two footed, blast the ball at him and he controls it instantaneously, he can see a pass too. He puts in a shift and seems to have a feeling for the club and the fans. He’ll do me.

  143. allezkev says:

Wilshere, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Cazorla, Ozil, what a fabulous group of midfielders we have, add a def/mid to the mix and gradually bring in Ollson and Zelalem and I really don’t a problem there…
Adams boy Sanchez would be a great signing…
Still go for thag French-African full-back, I’ve been told he’s an absolute beast…

    It wouldn’t cost us a fortune either…

Hi Agag, how you feeling today buddy…
    Groggy??? 😀

  144. rico says:

I really believe Thomas Vermaelen has gone, as has Fabianski.

I can see Podolski staying though…..

  145. vernat1066 says:

Sagna yes please stay, Vermaelen again please stay, Podolski Meh … I think he needs to go he lacks i dont know something that the best players have perhaps a touch of spite or arrogance games pass him by to much and his workrate is not good enough.

  146. tsgh says:

    Micko getting nostalgic? lol

It hasn’t sank in yet for me… in 2005 I missed the part of the game as I was on tour with the Queens gang.. 😉

My father called earlier to congratulate me (AFC) for a fine win.. he was so so pleased for AW. If I didn’t know my dad I would think he wasn’t a Yanited fan… lol

  147. rico says:

I was seriously concerned for the health of Steve Bruce yesterday, looks like a man with blood pressure issues…

  148. allezkev says:

Funny how nobody has commented in the media, about the three penalties we never got!

I was listening to the radio, but Lee was convinced that they were all pens, and he was right…

Glossed over by the Press and Media…
    Why am I not surprised?!!!

  149. agirlagunner says:

Hello, Adam, I trust you and Mrs Adam were properly celebratory? 😉 Bruce looked like he had swallowed a beer keg.

Kev, yes, definitely groggy. 😆 And you??

vernat, Podolski scores important goals though, and he seems genuinely keen on establishing rapport with fans. You can’t fake that. Agree though that Sagna and Verm should stay.

Ginge, am hunting down my Chav friend. He’s been invisible though. 😀

  150. tsgh says:

    Lol… Rico… I wish lady?

Yesterday during the extra time break I was having a chat with an older gentleman and his lovely wife and we ended up talking about Cardiff 2001… I was saying I was there when Hypia caught the ball when Freddy almost scored but the ref was as biased as yesterdays’ the funny think was the man also said that was his last FA cup match too as he moved to Singapore and just got back to uk…

Obviously Owen went on to score 2… that was the worse/longest journey back ever…

  151. allezkev says:

    High & Mighty, that’s a shop that deals with outsized men’s clothing…

Steve Bruce might be interested in that as he bursts out of his shirt…

  152. Adam says:

For the millions worldwide watching the game yesterday, there can only be two possibilities where Probert is concerned. Either he is a gross incompetent or he is corrupt. What other conclusion could they possibly come to?

  153. allezkev says:

Agag, not groggy as such, just tired…

Standing in the heat after 120 minutes of nervous tension yesterday, has caught up with me… I feel a bit washed-out…
Almost as if I had been on the vape.. 😛

  154. Adam says:

We are fine thanks Agag and fully recovered from the orgy of champagne drinking of last night.
Rico. Might I suggest the Steve Bruce diet of 5 square meals a day and a bit of breakfast?

  155. Lee says:

I’m not saying that Steve Bruce is fat but he’s got his own gravitational pull and numerous satellites orbiting his body!

  156. tsgh says:

Yesterday morning my neighbour a spuddie was like he will knock on my door this morning and bring me a bacon sandwich to cheer me up…

    I haven’t seen him either… 😛 😛

On Santi’ I hope Del Bosque eats the same fat slice of humble pie as I did and pick Santi in important games in Brazil…

  157. agirlagunner says:

Hiya, Lee!! Probert is a (expletive)!! How did you celebrate??

Kev and Adam, I could get used to this winning feeling. Brings an extra spring to your step, it does! Kev, have a cold beer. Should set you up nicely. 😉

Ginge, how could your dad be a Manc?? Eeeeeek.

  158. allezkev says:

Did you know that NASA are sending up a spy satilite to photograph the dark side of his gut…

  159. rico says:

Lee, I can’t google all of those words… lol

    So do I Adam..

Kev, I didn’t but thankfully someone came to my rescue and made the trip 😉

  160. allezkev says:

Agag, I had a couple last night, a couple this afternoon and I am contemplating visiting our corner store to ‘do a Rico’ and stock up… 😉

  161. Lee says:

There was a guy on twitter posting pictures of Gooners all over the planet celebrating our win! I was amazed by all the different countries………even Wilfried Umbongo’s home country had a party”

  162. allezkev says:

Gotta say that that Lithuainian waitress was a bit of a darling this morning Adam…

I still have this visual in my head of her bending over the table to serve Mrs Adam…

  163. Adam says:

Oh well, dear friends it is time for me to leave and do naughty things. I wish you all a lovely evening and thanks for the laughs. Some of the comments tonight have had me giggling and go to show why HH is absolutely the primo Arsenal thingamebob.
    Nighty. 🙂

  164. rico says:

Adam, I’m quite surprised that Wath hasn’t come on blaming a carrot cruncher for all of it….

Not any more but I know where there is a man with very hypnotic eyes… 😉

Did you see him this morning??

  165. agirlagunner says:

Someone will come in soon, and accuse us all of being “fattists” 😀 😀

rico, come on, have some cava! Kev, you know how to partay, eh?

  166. tsgh says:

Agag, 😀 my father is actually an Ajax fan; Nottingham Forest fan in the 70’s he claims… a typical glory hunter I call him 😛 AFC is his 2nd club…

His excuse for supporting Yanited doesn’t make sense to me to this day; He reckons he liked yanited because of teh way Yanited fans wanted to get rid of Fergie initially… 🙂

…my fathers other ‘excuse’ was that when he immigrated to London in the 70’s one of his first jobs was working at shite hart lane…
He knew then that none of his sons were going to be sperds…

With all his dubious taste in football he brought me up watching Ajax on vhs all the time so I forgive him… he always thought me to watch what players do when they do not have the ball;good players don’t ball watch but have a sense of how the game will unfold a few seconds in advance…

  167. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, you make sure none of your kids become anything other than AFC supporters!! 🙂 It won’t do fopr them to be claiming some Manchester DNA. In fact, that would be downright horrific. 😛

Trust Pep to ruin things for everyone!! No Pedro for me, that boy whines whines whines plus he has dodgy Barca DNA. Sanchez may well do it for us, I have to admit.

    rico, that’s months away!! 😛

  168. rico says:

I’m heading to the exit door too guys..

Our great weekend comes to an end but our happiness won’t for a while yet….

    Night agag, Ts and all…

  169. goonster says:

What do we think of totenham? Shit. What do we think is shit? Totenham. God I love jack Wilshire.

  170. allezkev says:

    Morning All

Morning Rico, just been re-reading some of yesterday’s comments, made me smile…
Such a difference from 2011 post-Birmingham when we were all suicidal…

It has certainly been a fantastic weekend.

  171. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Chappies and Lasses.

Its been a fantastic 45 minutes at work today.

Kept reminding them that its nearly two days that we last won a trophy. 😀

  172. Hell Raising Devil says:

I was one of those who wanted Flappy to stay and sign a new contract. Yet after watching the final I think it will be better if a new one comes in. For various reasons.

During the game we saw some blasts from the past from Flappy. There were two instances in which he reverted to past madness which put my heart outside my mouth. One was when he charged outside the area to tackle thin air, and the other when he dropped the ball in front of goal only to collect it at the second attempt.

However in the first ten minutes he failed to direct his defenders in what to do and mark the opposition. And they ended up scoring two.

I also feel that a new keeper would keep Chezzer on his toes. He knows that AW will put him in goal if Flappy was still around so if a new keeper comes in it will give the manager a different option.

So in essence I feel that its better if a new keeper comes in.

  173. Lee says:

Unexpected day off for me….no trains from Colchester due to over running engineering works! 🙂
A day of jobs lies in front os me!
    RIP Jack Brabham.

  174. Adam says:

We are just about to enter the silly season of transfer speculation. Let’s hope the fantasy is outshone by the reality.

  175. Adam says:

Morning brudder. Mowing the 3 acre lawn and polishing the silver?
    RIP Black Jack – agreed.

  176. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, I have to say that I was also one backing him all along, but, like you, cringed at a few of his antics in the game, and actually said to my dad we should sell him!
He has been terrific for 18 months, but that was a real pressure situation, and we were very lucky to get away with it.
    Morning all.
What a lovely day it was today……..

  177. rico says:

    That’s good Adam…

Morning Lee, day in the sunshine for you then…

AW is off to Rio on 10th June, time to get busy!

    RIP Jack…..

  178. rico says:

£10 million is cheap for a 28 year old Englishman who has won trophies…. 😉

    Right back cover too….

  179. allezkev says:

    Milner at £10m isn’t a deal that I’d have thought of tbh…
But he is versatile, can fill in at several positions and as a squad player would seem sound business Coach…

Still need at least two marquee signings as well, plus a goalkeeper..

  180. Adam says:

Lee. He did. Ecclestone eventually bought the Brabham team if I recall correctly and Piquet won 3 World titles I think. Jack was fiercely competitive and took no prisoners. His nickname was Black Jack but he was considered a gentleman. I recently saw an interview with him where he looked frail but was alert. A great driver and man and representative of a bygone era.

  181. allezkev says:

Wages, as with Lescott, could be an issue with Milner, Rico…

Could all have something to do with the balance of the squad, home-grown players Coach?

  182. rico says:

Good point Kev, but then not many clubs could match what he’s currently on. Unless Jose wants him..
