Morning all.
Arsenal embarrassed themselves last night as when Michael Oliver brought the two captains together before the start of the game, seeing Walcott wearing the armband was bad enough but then not to have a little Arsenal flag or something similar to hand over was a schoolboy error. As was Ospina’s shoddy clearance just before half-time.
But there was to be no banana skin as many of us feared. Two goals from Perez and Walcott were enough to seal victory and see us through to face Lincoln City at The Emirates in a few weeks time. There wasn’t much to impress from Arsenal but I think we were being kind to the non-league side. It would have been quite amusing to have seen the home team have to call upon their reserve goalkeeper who when the cameras focused on him, was tucking into a meat and potato pie.
Sutton gave a good account of themselves and all was not plain sailing for Arsenal but to conclude anything good or bad from the game would be foolish imo. It was a cup tie between two sides who really are miles apart and I’m sure had we needed to, we’d have stepped up several gears to kill the game off. Or that’s what I’d like to believe.
Walcott grabbed his 100 goal for the club in what seems like 100 seasons of being at Arsenal but thank goodness he didn’t get a touch to the Perez shot/goal as he’d no doubt have sent it off target.
Nacho Monreal has been battered on twitter for his dodgy performance and to be honest, if Wenger doesn’t sure up our left side before we head to Anfield, Liverpool will tear us apart. Neither Gibbs or Monreal fill me with confidence these days and it’s an area which seriously needs to be addressed in the summer regardless or what manager is at the club. Similar could be said about the right-back situation too as behind Bellerin, the options are limited. Perhaps Debuchy would have played last night had the pitch not been artificial.
Finally, well played Roarie Deacon who really troubled our defenders at times and on that showing, a club further up the leagues will soon take him away from Sutton Utd, of that I’m sure. But for the crossbar, he might just have given his side a hope of snatching a replay.
Thank goodness they’ll be no 3G pitches for us to play on for a long time…
We don’t have a match now until March 4th so enjoy the break….
Morning all.
I never played on this type of pitch, so really can’t guess at how much effect it had on the performance, but hats off to a side who have their all, and did themselves, and their fans proud.
Our boys did what was required, and no more
Morning Rico and all
I tend to agree with many comments I have read.. Of course another Cup Final win would be great, even though it has been devalued but to be brutal Kroenke and his Board are more interested in cash in the bank and that means a minimum of top 4 hopefully every year and that is were the real money is, but to fail 7 seasons in a row at the first stage of the knock out stage is pretty awful.I know we got the job done yesterday and all credit to Sutton, but for part timers who train only twice a week, they didn’t tire.I don’t believe AW does take the competition that seriously, despite what he says, he put out a team which his arrogance alone thought would just walk it.We had 13 days until our next match yet there was a distinct nervousness with many of the players but without playing particularly well we got the job done, but I am not convinced that we can push on in the PL. Mertesacker was on the bench, what was that all about ? We keep saying the same that we need a leader on the pitch, a much more physical presence on the field and this group of players haven’t got it.Granit was really subgued, especially after his booking, and though Holding is one for the future,he is at the moment prone to many mistakes.Iwobi and Jeff aren’t good enough yet, Gabriel is distinctly average,Debuchy another wasted amount of money and the list goes on,though Maitland nNles whn he came on looked assured.Ospina reminded me of a nervous Fabianski and as I said during the game we hardly won any 50-50 balls.I am being critical because for all our resourses we aren’t playing well enough and this rut is not getting better.I don’t think a statue for AW is of upmost importance at the moment. The fanbase is more divided than ever, we want to be up there challenging at least for the PL title not always stutter season after season, and I fully understand that though huge investment in players is no guarantee, attending fans especially want value for money and at the least be entertainedOur wage structure needs to be carefully examined as well.
.Hardly played decent exciting football all season, and adding all that up I would want to say goodbye to Mr Wenger but thanks for the memory.A new man might be successful or not,but a younger man, with more motivation and a plan A,B or C must be out there somewhere.Unfortunately that is just my opinion but it looks like Kroenke like Wenger will never change how he operates, and that is a bigger worry to me.
Morning Kelsey.
Not much to be cheerful about really…
Guys, do we get bonus post bay for winning by 6 goals?
Is a 2-0
A Comfortable win is not good enough-1 nil, to the Arsenal and all that!!!
Arsene doesn’t take a competition hes won on several occasions (6) seriously, Kelsey-imagine he did have a crack lol
Sensational lol
It’s psychological really . Wenger states openly that he is not playing Welbeck because the pitch is dangerous and it causes injury. So the players treat it with kid gloves and duck out of 50/50 ‘s . This makes Sutton look better than they really were. Had we gone for the throat in the first 20 minutes it could and should have been a cricket score. He gave them the excuse to be tentative and their opening performance confirmed just that.
It’s not the shoreline Scott, it’s how we play the game these days…
Damn, Potter, are we really turning everything Arsene says into an excuse for our poor play?
That’s harsh lol
Give me 50-100k a week and I’ll bust my arse, no matter what.
We can’t blame him for everything, no matter how hard we try.
Good point Potter..
I know, Rico, but Wenger sent out a side that got the job done, and comfortably.
What would we be saying if we won 5-0 with our best 11 starting?
I reckon some fans would still find a negative spin on things.
Imagine we did, and Alexis broke down?
Arsene would be copping it in bucket loads.
Hi Scott.
What is Wenger doing differently now than when you went to Stamford Bridge and watched us implode?
And that was before he signed a new bumper three year contract.
How has he and Arsenal progressed in that time?
Hi Kelsey, good to see you’re still about.
Most Arsenal fans are slowly catching up with what you and I said a few years ago.
A truly horrible situation.
Herb, why don’t you ask yourself who handed him the three year extension to sign?
Oh that’s right, he has his own PA type it up lol
Now as for my comments today, they’re quite clearly about the Cup win, and nothing more, as if you’d rest everything I’ve written, you’d realise I want him to leave.
Context-an important word.
Hey, no problem Scott, but you quite often feel the need to defend Wenger, I was just wondering why.
But now you’ve cleared that up, it’s fine.
As said Scott, it’s about the dross we suffer watching each week not just last night. If we were able to take last night in isolation then yes, job done, but there’s a much bigger picture to all that is going on and that’s not Kroenkes fault….
Herb, you could ask what is Wenger doing differently to what he did when we lost 8-2 at OT…
Herb, I defend the man only against disrespectful comments and abuse.
On tactics and selections, never.
I just think he deserves better than personal attacks but that’s merely my opinion.
I’ve never believed he was very good at tactics, though.
He was revolutionary in other ways, such as scouting and professionalism, but not tactics.
I reckon with Dennis, Thierry, Bobby, TA etc etc you could send them out and just let them play lol
I doubt we will ever see a side to match that lot ever again-certainly not in England.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Wengers PA who drafted up his contract… lol
Very true, and very disturbing from our perspective, Rico.
Rico, 8-2 at OT is a farce.
How many players were we missing through injury?
If RVP was on song, including a missed penalty and some bloody easy shots, we lead 4 or 5-2 at half time.
It’s an easy one to bring up, but the fact is when we look closely, it’s a perfect example of holding something over Arsenes head that was really very little to do with him.
Even the 6-0 at Stamford Bridge-I think they had 8 shots on goal and scored 6??
Ridiculous stat.
Giroud has a one on one to put us 1-0 up.
Wrong player sent off?
Funny old day lol
Rico, if, in fact, he did draft his own contract, who would you really blame for that?
He who I won’t mention 🙂 🙂
A mate of mine on another forum asked if we as fans should actually let Wenger decide his own fate and does he not warrant that respect from the fans for all he has done…. Another mate of mine replied with the following….
“Respect for being a financial mercenary when once he was a football revolutionary?
Respect for justifying the outrageous ticket prices whilst being one of the highest paid managers in world football?
Respect for moving the club from Highbury & collaborating with Kroenke & defending his cash hording? Respect for attracting a new demographic of middle class Arsene FC fans?
Respect for failing to spend the cash available for players properly & aiming for 4th place whilst lying to the fans that there was no cash, whilst picking up a profit bonus every season?
Respect for comparing us to swamp dwelling rat vermin?
Bollox to Wenger, he has been more than well paid for his 10 years of failure! He would have been sacked at any other club!
Even now he is clinging on in his evil way, whilst the PR department, directors & Wiggy try to mug the fans off with a new contract on the sly”
There lies the problem Scott, respect for one isn’t respect for another and when the subject is so personal and important and something that’s been part of life 24/7 365 for decades and decades we now have the issue as fans of feeling such disassociation from the club we love that what are we really supposed to think and feel at the way we are treated by what seems to be all and sundry at the club and that includes the manager who has the last few years insulted us all in many different ways with his smug arrogant comments
Disagree all you want Scott but those are the feelings that many many fans have seeing and feeling their club being ripped away from them and yes this isn’t a short term thing it’s been happening for a good ten years.
It was a very special side Scott, of that there is no doubt.
The confusion lies in why he ripped up the blue-print that brought him so much success, and went in a completely different direction, which has failed him for nigh on ten years.
As the saying goes respect is also a two way street…!
Wath, are you suggesting that all fans who were born into the trade are as avidly anti Arsene as that guy?
So everyone that’s followed Arsenal since birth want him gone?
I hope you aren’t, because it’s Absolute rubbish.
A mate who’s app. 60 has had a ST for 40 plus years, was actually at Bayern the other day and is as Arsenal as anyone and still supports Arsene, so I’m sorry, but where people are born is irrelevant.
My opinion is just that, but to suggest it’s matters less or comes from a different perspective is really nullified when long term North Londoners also defend the man.
You only have to look at the fights between fans to know that where you come from is irrelevant.
This was another comment which pretty much sums up a lot of people’s thoughts…
“The Arsenal has given me unforgettable highs & lows over many years and managers. ’72 was my first season, post double, which was followed by lean times, picked up with wembley trips, dropped off again then wembley & europe, then le prof arrived, all these experiences were different but always consistent was my love of The Arsenal. sadly over the last 8/9 years of repetitive failure and occasional embarrassment (brum, blackburn, bradford, chavs, scouse, mancs) i’ve drifted from anger to despair to frustration to apathy, because there is no obvious ambition in the club from the very top to the pitch to the tourist class ‘fan’ that sits on their hands in the bowl. i doubt very much that i’ll ever see The Arsenal in the same way as i used to..modern football is here to stay..”
If all you’ve picked out of that whole comment Scott is where you’re “born” then you’ve totally missed what the bloke getting at and what I am saying..!
Herb, money.
It wasn’t there to keep those guys.
Wath, you’re right-any other club he’d have been sacked but how do we blame Arsene for that?????
Then again, name me 5 managers that have been sacked whilst finishing top 4 in the League.
I wonder how back far people would have to go-if they even can find 5.
12.07 Scott. If’s and but’s don’t win matches…
lol Wath, well it was a point made-its been aimed at me before often enough.
Still, it’s only his opinion which doesn’t make it right.
Here’s the word Scott………….. Complicit….! Should he of been sacked, most definitely, does the owner love him of course he does he brings in the cash, so why does Arsene not walk away if he not happy with just doing enough and filling the owners coffers..???? Ignorance or complicit in being happy with the status quo..?
I think your mate has hit the nail on the head Wath. Respect, he had it all once but any I had for him has long gone….
I’ll name one who was sacked after winning the Champions League…..
I’ve always said they are all as bad as each other at the club, but ultimately, one buys the team, one plays the team and only one is responsible for the results/performances.
Rico,
Sorry, but how many comments after games tell us how lucky we were that some opposition striker didn’t have his shooting boots on?
We were lucky last week that Gibbs wasn’t sent off.
Can’t have it both ways.
Wath, we have people defending Ivan, while criticising Arsene.
Why hasn’t he quit?
Quality comments, Wath.
Good afternoon..Rico
Honestly nothing to be cheerfull about yesterday.
Ospina…is singled out wrongly in my opinion.
Ospina has the ball at his legs so defenders and tha crap midfield no one is positioning well or showing urgency to receive the ball. They made life absolutely uneasy for the keeper. The best thing yo do is to hoof the ball not to make that erroneous pass.
Gabriel
This guy is completely overated.I would not question his commitment but he go nothing to offer going forward.Every he pass the half mark retracts back to slow the attack. He is just rubbish i will be more confident with Holding.
Midfield…
There is no midfield at all .Is just scrappy pass and drfending and this is Sutton. The youngster atleast attempted to dribble and pass players albeit unsuccesful .
WALCOT …As dam as he came before a decade.
100 goals to my a**.i was focusing on him and probably me think it will be his field day.Oh boy he cannot pass one single Sutton player .Just running blindly onto them.Captain ???Hahahaha
Him and Ramsey epitomise the failure of the deade.
Lucas…..
Clear favouritism over this dumb asses.I dont know what he has to do to receive a call.Respect to you Lucas…good running ..fantastic controll..good positioning ecxelent
Sad when you wasted on the bench and specially when i see the idiots selected ahead of you.
Wath, where did Chelski finish that season again?
6th?
So what did Roman rate higher-a CL win or top 4???
There we have it.
Roberto….
Wengers mugs of our poor history in the Champions league and spouts about 20yrs of qualification to blow his own trumpet yet under the old rules he’s of only qualified 3 times as Arsenal manager…! Maybe if his ambition was higher than just qualifying we’d be wanting him to stay and not be having these conversations about aiming for trophies etc etc….
Scott,
Chelsea have won the CL and are about to win their fifth PL title in 12 years, without any response from Arsenal.
There I have what Scott…..? They won the Champions League YET wasn’t happy with 6th…! Enough said…. Ambition..!
Your now doing what you moan at others for doing, where have I not said they all a shower of shit..? they should all be sacked, we have only financial men running the club zero football nous what so ever, in my mind they all need to go but that ain’t ever gonna happen.
I like many see getting rid of Wenger in the short term is easier for most fans to target than getting rid of the owner, baby steps… New manager then see if anything changes… then you go at the board and owner.
Rico, Chelski finished 6th that season.
Roman obviously rates top 5 higher than a CL win 🙂
I’m off guys and as always, it’s been fun 🙂 🙂
I can Scott… lol
Wath, a new manager will potentially make a massive difference to us.
The problem is it can go either way, imo.
With a new owner, however, the only way is up I reckon
Gone now….
Afternoon Alex. Don’t you think most of those you list would be better players if they were better prepared before a game?
Herb, and not even a simple comment from Stan.
Rico, cheeky bugger.
Definitely done now-promise 🙂
Scott we are at a cross roads where a new manager and it going either way is something we have to deal with and lump it, if that leads to a new owner then great if it leads to success then great. What i see as being a huge problem is the following though.
The problem we have is even if/when Wenger does go he leaves us we a lot of very average players on huge money & long contracts, the new manager coming in will never be able to get rid of them because no other team will be able to buy them & match the wages, so they will stay put. This then means the new manager will not have the money to buy his choice of new players, basically from taking us to the highs when he joined Wenger will leave dragging us almost to oblivion. By the day his legacy is going up in smoke, he could have gone head held high after one of the two FA Cup wins but the stubborn cnut thought he could win more with out dated tactics & an inability to prepare & motivate the team, he is totally deluded, arrogant & believes nobodys opinion counts other than his.
No Scott, Roman wanted both…
Please amend this entry: the only reason we didn’t hand over a pennant at the beginning of the match is because we’d already presented the club with a silver cannon in a posh presentation box which was too heavy for poor Theo to bring on to the pitch ! 🙂
Nice to know Lew .
Seriously Lew?
The 8-2 loss is the game I was done with Wenger. Really.
Scott, am trying to struggle how you can defend that (calling it a farce) and giving reasons (excuses). Mind you the transfer window was still open. Claiming our team/squad was thin is no excuse. As after the game I think we signed 4-5 players – the fastest we’ve ever signed which shows we can sign players if we really want to.
It’s ok you defend wenger but it’d help me if you become objective about it. No way to defend the 8-2 loss imo. It’s clear Wenger is still respected on here, we were behind him when he was sent off in the burnley game. He just can’t take us forward any more.
Check out the Sutton United website to see the pressie. 🙂
Marshall, and most of those we shouldn’t have bothered signing for all the good they did…
I haven’t been able to find it Lew…
https://twitter.com/orangebannister/status/833825712033374209/photo/1
Rico, they were all a bunch of ageing players. Didn’t help our cause. Which shows our board and those transfers deals are actually a farce.
I hope they take this break to clear the future of the manager and the likes of Ozil and Sanchez. We need to rally the team for the next 13 games for our 4th trophy. It would be better if they cleared it up for us the fans.
I take it back Lew… 😉
£50k donation too which is a nice gesture….
Agree Marshall. Merts and Arteta were good people to have in the squad which was back then quite young but Santos?? Dear oh dear… lol
Benayon (spelling) came in too didn’t he? Good player but hardly played if my memory serves me right…
Indeed. 🙂
Evening guys…
I see Mr Pie Man has resigned – how ridiculous is it that he’s taken so much stick…
How sad….
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/milk-radiator-loo-roll-floor-9858945
Catch up tomorrow guys- night all…
I’ve tried to make sense of Scott defending Wenger. I just don’t see any defence. This is a man who for the Bayern Game decided to start Walcot and Iwobi in front of Welbeck and Giroud. This is a man who decided to leave out Elneny and start a static Xhaka and ever sliding Coquelin. Wenger has a neck to put it on our faces game in game out simply with his team selection.
Each of us can choose the right eleven to start an Arsenal game based on skill and passion shown by the players over the past. Wenger can’t do this to save his own life, he will still put Ramsey, put Ox and even Ozil lately needs to sit it out and bulk up. Wenger has divided us and he is the only manager some of us know
Morning all.
Marshall, I offer my opinion and it’s not for you to tell me my opinion is wrong.
Check the stats out and watch the replay of the first half-mubw you’ll change your mind a little.
Off the top of my head, we had 3 of our best 11 fit and playing.
Lew is right as I just saw a picture of the gift presented to Sutton.
We’ve also handed them 50k.
Wath, I know you’re right about Stan-he’s not going anywhere, so Arsene leaving is at least a step towards much needed change.
What happens from there is anybodues guess, but we defeinitely can’t keep going through the motions any longer.
I don’t even have issues with who we do not have I have an issue with how we use what we have. It’s like Wenger is never at practice with these boys. He just knows whom he likes and chooses his eleven based on that. He just watches his favourites and that’s it
Mabo, when people make ignorant and inaccurate comments such as you just have, I usually get pissed off.
I’ll just laugh, this time.
And I get pissed off with comments like your last Scott! What about either Marshall or Mabos comments deserve such a response that you have given?
Neither were rude, they are just both struggling to get on board with your views…
Wath, 12.24, I agree completely. However, what the old chap wants to do, his ambition, s to out do Sir Furry Alexson. The only way he can achieve this is by out lasting old red nose, in that he manages for 25 years plus 1 day. He’s not remotely interested in silverware because he can never catch up, but he can be,at least one day longer in harness than the manure maker. And lastly, he can leave the playing staff even poorer than the manc manager left his team in!
It’s just another job in progress.
The ruination of the club that Arsene built……….and later destroyed!
It’s all gone a bit Kronky, hasn’t it?
If his aim is to outdo Fergie Wavy, he’s onto a loser. Apart from years at one club, they are gulfs apart- although Wenger wins on the decency front….just…
Watching Monaco is making me jealous.. a team full of pace and enthusiasm.. fuck what I do give for the Arsenal to play like that….
You’ll be waiting a long time if Wenger stays Kel… Frustrating eh….
Just seeking clarification – Rico, Wath, Potter, Herb et al.
Quick story. My college roommate was a big crazy Ice hockey fan – NHL – in particular the New York Rangers. The guy breathed, ate, and drank the Rangers. About five years after graduation we hooked up. At that time the Rangers were doing very well. Expecting him to be happy, I asked, “how about them Rangers”? To my surprise, he said, “I don’t watch them anymore”. He had stopped watching the NHL all together. His reason, was surprising to me. He had stop watching because he said the influx of Russian and Eastern European players have changed the game and it’s not the same anymore. To him not only has the product changed; but the culture of the Rangers was not the same anymore and therefore, he didn’t care about the success they were having. What’s the point?
At times when I read many of the post here, it seems to me that although there are different reasons as to why many people want AW out, the overwhelming reason as I see is that they believe he has not only changed the product, but has also changed the culture. Several posters complained about the atmosphere at Highbury (the home of the real Arsenal fans) vs the Emirate (the tourists spot). “Power-Football” vs “Tippy-Tap”, Men vs Boys, Harden Players vs “Pussies”, Football for the People vs Commercialized Football. And the blame all falls with AW.
I can remember early this season when we were getting results, many here complained about, “How hard it is to watch”. Some even went as far as saying, they preferred “beautiful football” rather than the result. The more I think of it, it’s the lack of results now bringing to the surface a divide that was masked by AW’s earlier success. Is the AW, “out or in” debate really about trophies or getting back a certain perceived culture that is disappearing because of Wenger? After all, Liverpool hasn’t won anything in about 26 years; they did not have such divide over Dalglish or Rodgers. I cannot remember the Totts with their perpetual trophy less culture, being divided over a manager as we are with Wenger. I am quite sure that there were some Chelsea fans that still wanted the midget to stay, but there were no deep division. Van Gaal at United didn’t present such divided.
This lead me to wonder, is this really about results or trying to reclaim, “the Arsenal Culture”? If it is, do people really think is reclaimable, giving where football is heading, tourism football, TV money, rules changes that doesn’t favor power-football, and the possibility of super leagues.
Yeah Rico it is… I just see Monaco fighting like men here… and I’m envious.. lol
Evening all and thanks Rico !
A Madrid only have had 37% possession so far tonight, do we really want their manager ?…………………oh yeah, they`re winning 2-0 awa y to a German team ! 😉
Watched our cup win and I for one dont give a monkeys about any other stuff apart from we won and move onto the next round whoich will also be a walk in the park !
On the last 3 occasions we have beat non league teams we have gone on to win the cup…so there !
🙂
Dont see any point in moaning that we didn`t play like a top barca team and destroy them, we were in control all the time and it cerytainly wasn`t our fullest strongest team !
Non league teams are not the same a donkeys years ago, for a start years ago they didn`t always get promoted to the league andd I have my what I think is common sense idea why they are much better nowadays………………the massive influx of foreign players !………………..it has had a ripple effect, British players who would have been playing for top teams, but have been outed because of the foreign players are now playing in the Championship !……………….the ones who would have played in the Championship and have been ousted by the players who were ousted by the foreign players in the EPL are now in the 1st division and the players……………………….you see where I am going with this !……………………….players in non league are much better than yesteryear !…………………..even some of the non league clubs have Johnny Foreigners as well ! hahahahaha
See loads on blogs moaning about our players…yeah Theo was a bit dismal, but come on !……….was I watching a different game where Xhaka was concerned !…….he looked very comfortable to me !………………………..Perez looked “inteleigent”…………………………..Ox should have been on from the start……..love Ox………..thinking of starting a fan club !. hahahaha
Botton line !………………..we are in the next round, no complaints from me…………………wel, apart from why are there not more non league teams left ?……………….like one in the semi and one in the final for us !
ahahaha
Hi Kel, yes, Monaco are very dynamic for sure. Great to watch.
Obi, for me it’s simply about being competitive- really competitive…
Rico.
You are having a laugh, surely.
Marshall claimed I can’t be objective and I merely said it’s my opinion, but I did support it with some facts so what’s not objective about that??
As for Mabo, well, he questions my defence of Wenger, citing the fact that tactically he’s lacking and his selections are off.
Rico, why don’t you show us all where exactly I’ve defended the man on either of these two issues, and if you can’t, then why the hell don’t you set Mabo straight?????
It was an ignorant and inaccurate comment but hey, it seems some can get away with that.
Shame I can’t because if even I’m slightly off with a comment, you set me straight immediately-here’s a prime example!!!
Heaven forbid I ever defend Wenger.
Hi Adam.. yes m8 they certainly are.. a joy to watch tbh think I might start following them lol ?
Wouldn’t mind their coach at Arsenal..
No Scott, I’m not having a laugh….
So on my points-no response???
If not then I know exactly where I stand here now.
The difference is Scott, others comments to you aren’t hostile or challenging- but your replies are… look back at your comment to Mabo… did he really deserve that?
There’s talk about Jardim coming to the EPL as soon as this summer. That rules us out as we won’t have vacancy!
Progress would be, if Wenger just won’t leave the club he loves, that a new whirlwind modern coach were employed, whilst the wrinkly one gets on with looking after the catering staff!
You never know Jardim may be tempted.
What points??
Kel, Monaco coaches……we’ve been down that road !
?Micko….
He’d be okay for 10 years and then we could move him on. Unlike his over stayed current incumbent!
I’m really off now… lol
Nighty..
It was a great game of entertaining football. Jardim looks a very good coach from here.
Lol micko as long as it’s not for 20 yrs we’ll be ok…
Yeah, yeah rico, nite matey.
What`s all the bigging up of Monaco ?…………………….did they thrash Mansour City ?
🙂
Lots of talk about this Mbappe kid as the new Henry and big Arsenal target, but we know where this will end !………..Wenger will come out and say how close we were to buying him after he joins one of the big spending clubs ! 🙂
Morning all,
Scott, where did I say your opinion was wrong? Seems when one counters your opinion with theirs you spin it off and get personal.
In a transfer window there is no ‘thin’ squad excuse. If there are positions, fill them up. And what was that ‘weak’ squad doing at arsenal if they can’t go on and put a shift.
The 8-2 scoreline stat is one that counts/ We’ve lost games with better in-game stats. In the end the P.W.D.L stats are all that matters. Any way am off that.
Morning Marshall and all.
Wish I’d watched that match last night. Sounds as if it was nearly as good as our match the previous night….
Marshall, I may as well simply apologise at the start of every day to save time, Hey?
Label me what you want and that’s fine.
Misquoting me is also fine.
The fact is anyone who’s ever dared defend Arsene over recent years doesn’t bother posting now.
I’m too stubborn for that, though 🙂
What has anyone labelled you Scott??
Can’t see how anyone can defend Arsene Wenger these days….
Morning Rico. It was a really enjoyable game, though the art of defending took a back seat. There were shades of early Arsene about Monaco’s pace and incisiveness and they have a few players who look really good. Mbappe, at 18, looks a real prospect as did Martial when he was there. If Falcao had scored the penalty, then who knows? Jardim looks like he knows what he’s about I think. As for his defensive awareness?
Rico, it’s funny, but even when I don’t defend Wenger, I am accused of it.
Apparently, I defend his tactical nous and selection decisions lol
Morning Adam. Mbappe is the youngster we’ve been linked to isn’t he? But as Lc says, no doubt some other club will snap him up whilst Wenger dawdles over his price…
Iv’e no idea what you are getting at really Scott. All seems a bit silly to me….
Rico, I too did not watch the city-monaco game, am in no position to comment on it. Seems Monaco were on a high, before they let city overrun them in the last 20 minutes of the game. Still there are three away goals for them.
Rico. Yes but let’s hope that after season’s end Arsene is nowhere near making any more decisions for the club. Watching a few games lately has thrown how awful we have become into even sharper relief for me. In fact I would say that the overall quality in the PL has dropped this season. Most games are rather turgid, attritional affairs marred by shocking decisions from the officials. Reading that whimpy creep Anthony Taylor’s pathetic description of Wenger’s sending-off was a good pointer to where these little fascists head’s are at.
They are in a good position Marshall, despite losing. Might have to watch the return leg, just to watch our next new signing play… 😉
No worries Rico, our next manager in June will get the players we need 🙂
I certainly hope for the same Adam. Really hope he does the right thing…
🙂 Marshall…
New post up now.
I didn’t write it… 😉
