Wenger wants Super Signings, but they must be value for money….

Morning all,

No doubt all the talk today will be about what happened at the ‘Q&A with Ivan’ night but I wasn’t there.

Others were though and from what I have read, Arsene Wenger is still the man the club want to take us forward and talks over a new deal will be done in private and won’t be discussed in the media.

Wenger is looking for super signings and isn’t afraid to sign them, although he has to believe he is getting value for money.

Ok, now I have got back off the floor from laughing at that comment I will continue.

Someone suggested to Ivan that the on the pitch stuff had regressed since he came on board and we are no longer a club which can attract players like Dennis Bergkamp and Sol Campbell. Rather cleverly, that was ‘swerved’ and IG went off to talk about matching Bayern’s model….. Anyone know who she is??

Then the subject of RvP was raised – IG said we as a club weren’t able to retain RvP by offering any kind of financial incentive as the player was about money. I don’t think he gave a reason for not making him see out his contract but then we don’t really need to be told why do we…

Re transfers this summer, he said the club would like to do business early but with certain clubs being without manager,  it’s difficult to get deals done.

So which clubs are without a manager? Wigan is one……

One thing he did say was our Champions League qualifier won’t hinder any deals.

Then the evening changed it’s format as questions from the floor were invited..

This is where I am going to cheat and drop in a link to Arseblog where there is a full transcript.

This was the one question I was interested in:

Q: I’m surprised that there has been no reference to Red & White Holdings tonight, everybody’s been very quiet about it. If they’re talking about putting money in, why don’t we take it?

IG: We’ve supported financial restrictions and they would prohibit the sort of cash injection you suggest. So it wouldn’t do us much good. Not sure an explosion of spending on salaries and transfer fees is healthy for the game overall. Arsenal Football Club will always do well, but it’s bigger than just Arsenal, it’s about the whole of football too. It saddens me to see great clubs having to compete for outside investment, we want to broaden good ownership in the game. If that doesn’t happen, Arsenal will still go on and do well.

Oh, just to leave you all feeling even more depressed, Man Utd are confident of signing Cesc Fabregas and Lewandowski before the end of the summer…..

On that note, I’ll end the post and catch you in the comments…

Have a good day all, I’m off to count my coins.

Just hope I can find £5 worth to send to Allezkev….

Cesc said he’s not leaving Barcelona. Barcelona is his home. I don’t trust what players say because they really are ‘players’. I remember Nasri saying a similar thing before he left

    lewandowski is the marquee signing.

i am told everything has been agreed and the ball is in his court now, he told arsenal he will give them an answer by this time next week

Clubs without managers man city, real madrid, everton (until recently) chelsea (until recently) even the bayern munich manager hasn’t started his new role yet. Malaga are managerless

  4. SD_UK says:

I think Man Utd are just getting a kick out of pissing Arsenal off.
I think Fergie just keep sending Wenger a message that he is not only better than Wenger but he can show him how to use his former players better.

Because I don’t understand why Fergie wants Fabregas, Fergie knows how to win this race , he knows all he has to do is just offer Fabregas a deal Wenger can’t match. That was how he snatched Ronaldo from Wenger’s nose.

This club needs to change , the board has lost all the passion in the game, the board and the manager have forgotten that what made the game of football the most popular in the world is the amount of passion involved in it.

Look at Wigan; The got relegated , lost around £60 – £70 Million for getting relegated but they won the FA CUP. Did anyone feel a little bit of the passion involved in that game, I did and I wasn’t even a Wigan fan.

Wigan is going to get promoted back into the PL but when they do they will always talk about the day they won the FA cup with great pride.

But then without been dismissive of Wigan’s history or status , Arsenal is 10 times bigger than Wigan and our dear club keep on playing with Fan’s emotions and gradually killing our passion one season at a time (8 so far).

  5. Wavy says:

Lewindowski is going to Bayen, nowhere else. Whether it is this year or next, he won’t be doing any detours via Arsenal manure or any other club. If he does leave Dortmund he will only park his caravan for 12 months waiting for the call to München. How much effort he will put into his ‘new’ club is debatable.
It would be great to sign him but for him it would only be a stepping stone to reach his ultimate goal – Bavaria!

  6. max says:

‘Wenger wants Super Signings, but they must be value for money….’
Now that is the definition of oxymoron.

  7. ozgunner says:

so are these special players the special players we used to him buying and I won’t bother with the depressing lists, or are they like, special special players?

    Morning btw,

Nice one Lady Rico…. Wigan definitely do not have a manager yet… 😀 😀

  9. rico says:

I was being ironic about Wigan, but the they have a couple of players who would strengthen our squad..

SD – Maybe they want Gervinho, see how Moyes gets on with him…

Wavy, Dortmund say they will not sell him to Bayern… With him entering the last year of his contract I suspect they want to sell Lewandowski, just not to them…

    Max 🙂

MGooner, how reliable is your info then?

  10. rico says:

i posted 3-4 hours b4 it hit the net and sky that rvp was sold with the exact fee.

cesc asked wenger last summer could he come back and i posted this and look whats happening.
    i posted 5 days b4 any 1 that fellaini was a target.

    the info is good

i have posted a lot of shit as well but that the transfer market,,ahahh

  12. potter says:

The assumption that by talking to Red and White would mean an explosion in players wages and transfer fees is in itself laughable. R&W only have 30% so any decision on those factors would have to be sanctioned by the other 70%. The club are unwilling to invite them in and one can only conclude that their reasons for this are to keep their machinations private. Surely a company with the contacts throughout eastern Europe would be good for possible revenue stream without having to break the sustainable model that we are operating. One can only hope that with the promised change of boardroom members a more perceptive group may see the advantages of actually talking to them.

  13. tsgh says:

    😀 Mgooner… you crack me up…

I think Martinez will be raiding Everton for a few of his former players to Everton

  14. ozgunner says:

Agree Potter, never understood that statement either. Made little sense on the exploding wages and fee’s, as you say. Wonder if he actually lives in 2013?

  15. Kevin KJ says:

    Morning Rico,
You said: “Rather cleverly, that was ‘swerved’ and IG went off to talk about matching Bayern’s model….. Anyone know who she is??”

Yes and she is very sexy.
Bayern Munich have risen to the number one football brand in Europe, worth around £570m. They have done this through a self sustaining business model, not reliant on handouts from rich owners or running up huge debts to repay later. They have overtaken Man Utd, RM and Barca. They can now be competitive year on year and are not relying on a rich foreign benefactor to bank roll them for short term success. German efficiency at its best.

You want long term success this is the only way, especially in today’s current climate of ridiculous wages. Arsenal chose this model and that is what IG was referring too. That was the whole point of the stadium purchase and the financial restructuring, including the renegotiated sponsorship deals. Basic maths, the more you earn the more you spend. Self sustaining means you are totally secure and have no need to rely on anyone.

That was what IG was saying.

  16. malaga gooner says:

Hi Oz… my source is Malaga Gooner… he even told me Barca would win LA Liga…

Since Malaga CF do not have a manager are we in for Isco…? MG

  19. tsgh says:

Kj… only if Islington Council and Fat Boris will give us 95 bars as the Bavarian Council did…

Its funny how every man and his dog are now on about the Bundesliga… the german league has always been a competitive league… one reason they are better than England at internationals.

The FA should realise that its not just about the number of homegrown players that makes a successful national team… if that was the case the likes of Norway and Switzerland will be would champions with all their homegrown players in their respective league.

It when the media bash Pearce for not progressing with the u-21; but then 2 days later they swamp like vultures attracted to a dead carcass in texas when Mauren-ho arrives…

What has that man done for football as a whole or even his country Portugal?

  20. malaga gooner says:

i do not pretend to know everything thats going on.

    i get told certain things.

i posted last summer jovetic was a target and look what happened.

i think isco could be city or madrid bound, but things can change,

there is huge amount of money to spend.

from what i am told we could go over the 100 mill mark

  21. tsgh says:

Not bad at all Oz… very busy at work… its affecting my day job which should be blogging and finding out how many tattoos Scott have of Ramsey, Theo ,… lol

Would have been good to see Adam, IG and Davide Icke at the bilderberg conference but hey… maybe next time… lol

    Hi Scott all well?…

  22. Kevin KJ says:

    Hi Potter
“That doesn’t prevent them from talking to Red and White though does it”

Why is the R&W involvement an issue? We are where we are now and that is in a very strong position financially.

Do we need to talk to R&W now? Is any potential money they could inject needed now? Will it be given as a loan to be repaid? Will there be conditions attached?

We can all make wild assumptions but the fact remains we don’t know as none of this is in the public domain. I suspect the club wanted to stick rigidly to its plan and that did not include R&W – but that is just my guess.

I support the club going down the self sustaining route 100%. If R&W help us achieve that and their involvement does not destabilise the club, it can only be good. But if it means ‘loans’ or opens us up to political in fighting, forget it.

    .

  23. Lawrence says:

Just reading the dire rubbish from IG is sickening. I am sure he must be a spud and goes to bed laughing at us.

We dont need much, surely they cant get it wrong for another season :(.

    Great stuff again Rico

  24. George says:

    Afternoon all,

I very much doubt Lewandowski, Fabregas, Higuain,Villa,Mignolet,Jovetic, ,Benteke, Feillani et all will come to Arsenal.

We don’t pay the same as their likely suitors do.

    My money is on:

    Fab=staying put
    Lewandowski=Man utd
    Higuain=Juventus
    Jovetic=Juventus
    Benteke=staying put
    Feillani=Man Utd
    Villa=Spurs
    mignolet=staying put
    Rooney=Chelsea or Real Madrid

We will sign a few cheapos and bin more players from the deadwood

  25. Scott from Oz says:

  26. malaga gooner says:

  27. malaga gooner says:

ts,, the salary included in transfer fees has been scrapped.

we have a lot of money to play with this summer.

    happy days

  28. Kevin KJ says:

    tsgh 11:47
Yes, Bayern got lucky with the stadium too. That is why it was even harder for us, no handouts whatsoever. Unlike man City and West Ham.

The difference in Germany is the way they have been able to keep down the ticket pricing within the league and in Bayerns case, they have involved the fans within the club. We could learn from that.

As money floods into the game, it ends up largely in the players pockets and I do wonder where it will end.

We are crap internationally because of some of the poor coaching methods and attitude towards playing the game. Hoof ball and getting stuck in. At West Ham, where my mates son is, they ban the parents from coaching from the sidelines form the age of 5 up, because of the English disease. The coach there was telling me about some of the nonsense getting shouted to the kids thatw as undoing the coaching. It is changing. Look at Messi. If he had been English, most English clubs would have sent him packing for being too small. We have been crap since 1970 with a bit of average thrown in between, nothing to do with foreign players. The press are hypocrits that love Ryan Shawcross and hold him up as some example.

Maureen Ho. least said about that arrogant idiot the better Ts…!

  29. Kevin KJ says:

    lawrence
You cannot criticise what the club has built or where we are now financially. You can blame IG for it snowing in April if you like but at the end of the day the club (board) had a plan and they stuck to it. The new sponsorship deals have been well negotiated.

You can complain ‘if’ the money does not get spent, absolutely, and I will join you but you would have to point the finger elsewhere.

It is about time we started looking forward now.

  30. devilgunner says:

Careful Ginge. Adam will screw your head for forgetting to mention him regarding bunter. 😉

  35. SD_UK says:

The board will not invite Red & White (Uzmanov) not because he will inject money or not but because they suspect that he might be a fan and there is no place for an Arsenal fan in the present board.

They are all about the money in the board right now , including Wenger.

This statement from IG says it all :

“Wenger is looking for super signings and isn’t afraid to sign them, although he has to believe he is getting value for money.”

Forget any big signing then 😐

  36. potter says:

Malaga and KJ my contention with R&W is purely that Usmanov has built himself to be a very rich and competent business man his company has the ability to use his position to bring further sponsorships to the club . It seems from the comments made that the club have decided that any contribution that he might make would have to come from his back pocket. Now if everything we are told is correct that the club has had no dialogue with him, if this is true then they are ignoring the possibilty of another revenue stream . I can’t help feeling that thre’s more to it than meets the eye.

  37. tsgh says:

Potter, I suspect the boards worry is that AU takes massive dividends from which ever company he owns or invests in…

I am certain AU does not want to own the club outrightly… contrary to what he says… his moves do not indicate he wants to own the club… just my view of course 😉

  38. Scott from Oz says:

    Value for money?
Look, certain players with a market value of, say 25 million, may actually be worth 30 million to Arsenal.
It is what they can provide us, and what we are lacking.
This should be the criteria, not what the market value is nor what Arsene wants to pay.

  39. devilgunner says:

careful Ginge. yes, his moves (in the present) do not indicate he wants to own the club. But what happens when he gets the seat on the board and starts increasing the shares,or SK wants to sell???

I do not POST(give 😉 ) A SHIT who owns the club, all I want is ARSENAL to do well.

  40. malaga gooner says:

  41. tsgh says:

SD_UK; the last paragraph in your comment at SD_UK says it all…

being a cynical person I am I like to read between the lines.. especially when analysing comments from well spoken individuals…

So the fact that AW is the right man but fails to spend big money when money is allegedly available to him…. says it all

Is it AW who tells Dick Law how much to spend on a player or are we missing something here…

PHW always said it how it was… AFC will never spend £50M on 1 player! So if you consider Hazard will cost CFC over £60M over 4 years… will we ever make such signing in the short to medium term? I seriously doubt it!

  42. tsgh says:

….“Mr Moshiri expressed a view that he wanted to be a friendly long-term investor. The interpretation coming out of Moscow is somewhat different.” The business partners, who want the board to consider dividend payments, are unhappy about a lock-down agreement signed by board members who hold 45 per cent of the shares”

  43. George says:

Rumours have it Podolski is on his way out…

I’d be gutted if true, since we are losing the danish pinkbooted bomber

  44. malaga gooner says:

george im hearing that 1 of our main forwards from last year could be on the move.

does any 1 find it funny that theo only signed a 3 year contract extension when the best of british all signed long term deals.

would we turn down 25-30 mill from CHELSEA?????

  45. George says:

malaga, its prob Poldi, but its just rumours…

Theo 3 year extension onto the 18 months he had to run is 4 1/2 years. If the others got 5 yr contracts whats the diff-nothing funny there since theo is on a £100k odd weekly..

Sell to Chelsea? We wouldn’t turn it down-just they never offered it

  46. Kevin KJ says:

    Potter

In my honest opinion, AU is a PR genius that manipulated the fans at a time when fans were desperate for a change in circumstances. He had shed loads of cash, we needed it and so he was the new messiah. His claims of undying love for the Arsenal meant he would give us wad loads of cash.

    ……back to the real world.

SK, (the AU fans devil incarnate) does not take dividends out of Arsenal, the profits get re-invested. This is completely ignored. He does not take money out of Arsenal, except for the £20,000 token wage.

SK refused to budge from the financial plan, agreed with the board. The rewards are starting to be realised and Arsenal fans can see that.

SK has been battered by some fans who want the Uzis money and SK has been unfairly accused of profiteering when the exact opposite is true.

Now back to the ‘shining knight’, the Uzbeck born Russian magnate.

As Tsgh says, AU has openly stated that dividends should be paid to the shareholders.

Yes the Uzi is wealthy beyond dreams BUT any money he puts into the club will come at a price. He will want a serious return on it. This idea that AU is a fan of the club and will give it free money through this love, is madness. But he goes to every game, some cry. So what. He wants a piece of what is about to become a very large cake. He is nobody’s fool.

In my opinion the Uzi has made some brilliant PR moves, at a time when fans were desperate.

Profits made on the football side should be reinvested in the football side not shunted back out as divis to a foreign investor.

Fact is, we no longer need his money and he can no longer dictate terms. if he wants to put money in, it has to be on the same basis as SK.

  47. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, for 25 million, i reckon even Rico would say sell.
Of course, this blog would be renamed Stamford Shack next year 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Why is it that everytime people that support KSE discuss Usmanov they always state the above reasons not to talk to him. The man is capable of giving large sponsorships , Gazprom, Megafon, Facebook , Metalinvest. he has interests in all of these and as much as we proudly attempt to raise our profile in the far east , he could open doors for us in the old Soviet block . I am not saying sell the club to him lock stock and barrel, but he has an affinity to Arsenal and has money invested in the club , . To continue not to have dialogue with him is to cut of their nose to spite their face.

Remember the board went to great lengths to get the premier league to change the rules regarding shareholder information , it would seem it was done to prevent information getting to Red and White , I for one question the reason why .

That was the gist of my comment

  61. Kevin KJ says:

    Afternoon DG
I do agree that the fans should be involved in the ownership of the club, that is Bayerns model too.

I think it is very important that characters like UA are kept well away from our club.

    Expediency I suppose?

I have no doubt, that Kroenke has a wardrobe/closet full of skeleton’s?

Henry Norris wasn’t exactly whiter than white, but without him, Arsenal would probably be Woolwich Arsenal, and in Division Two….

KKJ I do not think that Bayern’s model is the same as Barca. Bayern’s board are not elected every three years. Barca go through the process of electing a president while Bayern’s is not.

You can choose to ignore it all and think he is a good upstanding character, that is your right. Me, I think there are enough serious questions to be answered and until then I do not want him anywhere near the club. No doubt the board members all feel the same. I have a simple rule in life: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck – it is a duck.

The PL Criteria? Jesus, how many crooks have we had in English football and they aren’t all foreign! There are crooks and their are crooks but the mafia and racketeering is a few stages up from that. Some great books on the Russian money and RA is well worth looking into.

  71. potter says:

Most of their articles were derived from the same source I believe, my thoughts are that in a politically unstable area many people are jockeying for position , all have their leanings and all will report with their own political slant on it .It’s kind of like expecting the Mirror to have a positive slant on Cameron , you can read it but look behind to see their motives.

Don’t get me wrong I am not an advocate for Usmanov and neither would I want him or Kroenke to have complete control of the club , unfortunately though once our old custodians realised that there was a pot of gold at the end of their respective rainbows they all sold out in one direction.

  72. malaga gooner says:

    kevin i agree with you
.what i am saying is if he passes the pl criteria what can be done.

i have read the former ambassadors criag murray interview on him.

the godfather comes to mind, how the mafia tried to go legal.

there is talk hes trying to buy the club through some friends in the middle east,he is building up his contacts and his property portfolio over there big time.

wenger is not a fan of him

  73. Kevin KJ says:

    Potter
“……there was a pot of gold at the end of their respective rainbows they all sold out in one direction”.

    True.

  74. tsgh says:

Harry Houdini has threatened to walk aout of QPR if he is not given a purse full of cash… 😛

  75. Kevin KJ says:

    Lee
They are saying Diaby has made 123 appearances in 8 seasons, including16 this season. That is right on the average which is 15 games per season. That is probably a third of what you would expect him to play.

That means he is earning twice as much for not playing as he is playing!

  76. Kevin KJ says:

    tsgh
Harry Houdini, he is certainly teflon coated. The man and his dog does everything via the press, that’s why they love him. Perhaps he has his eyes on another vacant job 🙂

  77. malaga gooner says:

yeah del boy could be on his way to wigan, him and dave whelan can hang out of the range rover giving interviews on sky,,ha

  78. Kevin KJ says:

    Malaga
All the board can do is just keep him well away, that is what they have been doing so far. They know exactly what he is.

  79. tsgh says:

Mg, and Kj… Houdini is probably thinking that if he fails to gain promotion with that squad back into the EPL he is finished in this business…

  80. malaga gooner says:

i think this is what IG is talking about
,get some young blood with some fight in them.

what makes me mad is since we moved to the emrates we had a different sort of fight on our hands and were starting to bear the fruits of that now.

we do not need aboard room battle we need stability

maybe some 1 like usmanov will get what he gives out,,maybe a little plain crash,,hahahha

  81. Kevin KJ says:

‘arry said, something along the lines of “let me buy who I want and I will carry the can if it goes wrong”.

Really? And who will cover the debt Harry? The blokes a spin merchant, they should call his bluff and agree as long as he covers any losses if they fail. If he cant get them up with the parachute payments and the owners money, blimey.

  82. Kevin KJ says:

    tsgh
I never believe anything Harry says, he is a second hand car salesman who the press adore. He taps players up all the time via the media and how he got away with that doggy, sorry dodgy, bank account saga and the alledged illegal payments is beyond me. he has been at it for years, makes george Graham look like Mother Teresa.

  83. Kevin KJ says:

    Malaga
“what makes me mad is since we moved to the emrates we had a different sort of fight on our hands and were starting to bear the fruits of that now.”

Spot on! We don’t need the dodgy Russian or his money. And we don’t want directors taking divis as AU wants. The more we earn, the more that gets ploughed back in to the football club. We don’t want it going into AU’s pockets as dividends, as he wants, especially after the pain of the last 8 years.

  84. rico says:

Hi Kj, all good thanks just a hectic old day..

Thanks MG – but it’s us all who make it that way 🙂

  85. Adam says:

Well, obviously the info you have mentioned here and on the rumours site. Or is that just your opinion?
    KJ. Yes, really.

  86. allezkev says:

Congrats Lee, you are now accepted into the Brotherhood of the Toad….

Micko, is that what Nigerian Guiness does for you?

  87. malaga gooner says:

sorry adam did not mean to be rude,i was talking on the phone when i was typing.

thats not really fair to ask me that,i cant just give some 1s name out on here or any where else.

wait and see and enjoy the window

  88. Adam says:

Reading the entire transcript of the Gazidis interview I cannot say I feel remotely inspired by his words.

  89. Adam says:

Malaga Gooner. I wasn’t asking you to actually give anybody’s name. But, are you asking us to accept that you have solid, reliable and unimpeachable information from somebody in a position to know what is going on inside the club? Or are you, like most here putting together scraps of information, mixing them with rumour and possibility and posting the results?

  90. Adam says:

Thank you Rico. I assume that Toad 1 is an honorary title that is bestowed on few people? My car number plate is of course TOA D1.

  91. malaga gooner says:

    nothings concrete adam.

we do not just have 4-5 targets, there has to be contingency plan if a planned transfer fails

im not asking you to except anything i post.

    lets wait and see.

if the info is bad i will sit back roll a spliff and take the abuse like a man.

    regards

  92. allezkev says:

Blackwall Tunnel for 2 hours, strewth, that must have been fun.
A bit like Michael Douglas. What was that film, Breaking Down or Falling Down?

Central London has all fun & games today, with the layabouts of Rent-a-Demo turning out, in between getting drunk and drawing benefit.
Makes ya proud to be British….

  93. devilgunner says:

Hiya Adam. ………you got caught in Blackwall Tunnel for 2 hours today………..I thought you were caught in a time warp and went to Nero to see if his harp was in tune!!!!! 😉

  94. devilgunner says:

Rico………why dont you get MG to write you an article? It should be fun for him to write and will surely give us a happy day.

  95. devilgunner says:

I am watching the Italian under 21 vs Norway. Nordtveit is playing for Norway. The Italians are superior to the Norwegians but are still 0-0. England are also 0-0 but I am not watching the game.

  96. Kevin KJ says:

    Evening Adam and Rico,
I think UA needs looking at closely, ignoring the spin and the sound bites he has made.

You are right of course Adam, there is lots of speculation and rumour out there and one should not reach an opinion without a good degree of research. But a lot of opinion has been given without any research whatsoever, just because he says the right things and has a lot of cash.

Taking all things I have read about AU over the last 12 months or so into account, I am very uncomfortable with his involvement in Arsenal Football Club. I am personally convinced that he is what has been alleged and that is really scary. This is serious stuff. Whatever the truth, there is enough doubt for me to question his suitability to own the club I love. I may be wrong of course but I am fairly comfortable with my conclusion.

    Interesting one to debate though.

Just off for roast beef dinner, roast potatoes, yorkshire pud and veg!

  97. rico says:

    🙂 devil…

Mg, no doubt you read devil’s comment and just like all on here, please feel free to write an article for HH.. It might cheer everyone up and make us believe a few biggies are heading to Arsenal 😉

  98. devilgunner says:

89th minute and Norway go ahead with a penalty.

And Israel are also winning against England 1-0.

    England win the wooden spoon.

  99. devilgunner says:

So England go out having scored just 1 goal in three matches and conceded 5. I leave you to draw your conclusions why.

But it pains me to see such a big country being the source of derision among my friends.

  100. malaga gooner says:

devil there is something really wrong with the english game.

just look at the amount of players we have let go from the youth set up over the last 2 years,

i just believe we will never see them achieve anything in our lifetime.

we look at the pl and anything that is good about it is imported

  101. allezkev says:

    Go get ’em Stu Pearce…

Mick, you’ll never how tempting thar prospect is at time?

Especially those extremist couriers on their push bikes, unwashed hair, in dreadlocks (these are white guys btw) cycle with gay abandon, their dreadlocks flowing in the wind as they almost mow down pedestrians on zebra crossings, jump red lights and generally act like total cnuts.
Yeah, I could see myself putting a few of them into A & E.

  102. potter says:

Effectively KJ I don’t believe all I read in the papers , be it transfer rumours or politically motivated scandal. if he should gain further ground in the club I would be open to read his manifesto before jumping to conclusions .If he was to publish one it would be a damn more elucidating than Stan’s.

  103. devilgunner says:

yes and no MG. The players that SP has taken with him to the championships are not as bad as it appears on paper, that is, bottom of the table. He had some good players, however they were lacking technically speaking when compared to teams like Holland, Spain and Italy. Had the England U21 been in the other group they would have been de-fleshed and not simply beaten. This occurs through their attitude when learning the basic skills and the coaches who teach them at grass roots level.

Tactically they are found to be wanting. And this is where SP failed. He should know that English players lack high level technical skills so he must rope them into a disciplined unit which fights for every ball in every area of the pitch.

Look at the Aussie national team…….technically they are not at a high level but against the Japanese they refused to lie down and surrender. And even managed to go ahead.

  104. Micko says:

I was gonna say ”tourist” kev but those guys can walk on water eh.

Malaga gooner, you can’t do any worse than rico, she told us Jovetic was in the bag only a couple of weeks back !

  105. devilgunner says:

Potter…………but would he put the views he published in his manifesto to practice or will he do like all politicians do when in power……that is…..do exactly the opposite?

  106. malaga gooner says:

micko but rico is not wrong

jovetic has been on wengers radar for over a year,i actually had an argument with another editor who said he was man city bound.

liam brady is the kiddo who was trying to do the deal for him.

i am not sure what is happening with him now maybe we have other targets,if he comes he will play the wings not as a forward,so who will he replace podolski of theo???

  107. devilgunner says:

None of them MG. He would not have played on the wings. Jovetic can only play in one position and that is as a 2nd forward a la DB10. We would have had to change the formation to play him to a 4-4-1-1. If not then he would have only played as a false 9.

  108. malaga gooner says:

i would not be too sure of them both being at the club next season devil.

do you really think they both have the VORSPRUNG DURCH TECHNIC to play free flowing football that we have come to love,

pretty sure if jovetic comes he will start on the wing

  109. devilgunner says:

I am off now my friends.

Good to have another day with you here. Not been here as much as I would have liked but I have to fit in.

MG good to have you on board. looking forward to see you posting your first article. Incidentally you have not enlightened us how to post shit 😉

Bet365 and Ubet have managed to get wind of Rico and Kev’s bet and are accepting bets from anyone who wishes to stake a claim to see who the eventual winner will be.

    cu all tomorrow.

    gd night

  110. malaga gooner says:

    lol devil,

    good luck buddy.

thanks to every 1 for a great welcome on a great site.

    speak to you all soon.

    god bless

    eie

  111. Scott from Oz says:

Devil, our Aussie boys won 4-0, albeit against Jordan, so a win v Iraq next week puts us on the plane to Brazil.
Our boys have the fight in them.
Back us into a corner and we come out swinging 🙂
I have mentioned this kids name before….Tommy Rogic.
    He is at Celtic.
He showed glimpses of genius last night.
Big, strong and on the ball is awesome.
Arsenal quality…..i can not go that far, but gee, i would love to see him given a run.
He is as good as i have seen from an Aussie kid at his age.

  112. malaga gooner says:

LEWANDOWSKI ODDS HAS DROPPED DOWN TO 10/1 TO JOIN ARSENAL.

I THINK HE WAS 20/1 A FEW DAYS AGO

  113. malaga gooner says:

scott i am corrected he was 33/1

either a huge amount of money has gone on him or my info was spot on and the bookies have found out.

  114. allezkev says:

Mick, tourists do actually, walk on water…

Personally I cannot do enough for them.

I consider if my civic duty to go that extra mile to accomidate them.

In fact I often go the scenic route to ensure that I do just that…

Oh well, not long till it’s 5.30am.
    Morning Lee…

  115. Lee says:

Someone mention a joint!?!? I think I’m hanging up my rizlas after sampling my last consignment…..I was spot welded to the sofa last night! 😆

  116. Lee says:

Good, then Bubbles will fuck off to Real and those slags will get relegated! If only Carlsberg did transfer windows…..

  117. rico says:

Sanogo scored for the French under 20’s, now there’s a reason to be cheerful this morning…

  118. Scott from Oz says:

Has anyone seen much of Sanogo guys??
I have seen a little via Youtube…….always a fair assessment :)….. But boy, the kid has some skill.
Even with his back towards goal, he looks bloody good.
His injury history fits right in to our want of fixing up crocks lol.

  119. rico says:

    Not me Scott.

Gervinho looks good with his back towards goal. Well he does if you are stood behind the goal….

  120. rico says:

    I wouldn’t be surprised Lee re Villa…

Actually you are right, he doesn’t look good from the back either ….

  121. malaga gooner says:

morning all,,rico i am about to email you a little piece and im stoned of me head,,can you please edit it my punctuation is terrible.
    post it if you want,ha
