Morning all,
I’ll start with the gossip and then onto last night’s match report which has been compiled by TsGH…
Reports are doing the rounds that Ashley Williams could be on his way to us in the summer. That’s old news really but now it’s suggested that his representatives have been in talks with someone at Arsenal and that things are stepping up a bit.
Another story relates to Simon Mignolet. Someone obviously felt sorry for him being the only keeper not linked to us since Christmas, so they have put an end to that. He’s now reported to be Wenger’s first choice to replace the two keepers who look likely to depart this summer.
Back to last night then….
There are certain teams in the premier league that any team with top four aspirations, I believe loathe to face, especially at the business end of the season.
Everton home or away is always a test for Arsenal. The performance of the team for me not the results of the match tells me whether the coaching team has been earning their money on the training pitch.
Last season with both ‘Judas and Songinho’ in the team we only managed to scrap a 1 nil win home and away against Everton. This time round with both teams on paper considered the in-form teams of the last few weeks, the expectation was that both sections of fans will be offered a feast of a game.
But Moyes came with one aim and motive and that was to frustrate the Arsenal and nick a win if possible on a set-piece or two. I guess that is the modus operandi of most teams that visit Arsenal these days.
What surprised me was the way both managers set up. Everton’s major change in formation was to redraw Fellaini into a deeper role to mark the Arsenal player that would operate in the ‘hole’ between midfield and attack. Arsene surprisingly, after admitting that he had rushed Jack’s return was probably forced to start him due to ‘the little Mozart’s’ absence after last weekend’s match.
From the very first minute of the match the midfield three or five of Arsenal depending on how you want to look at it looked unbalanced without possession. Moyes and his boys ended the half the better team with Steven Pienaar missing a very good chance. Oliver Giroud also missed a good chance after the cameo from Theo who had been on the back foot most of the half. Then again any team playing with 9 or 10 fit or interested players against an Everton team who are well drilled and fine tune will expect nothing more than a full concentration across the whole pitch.
In the second half Arsene Wenger made a small tweak to the midfield three in attempt to win the ball further up-field by swapping Rambo’s and Jack’s position. This small change helped press the Everton back line and we ended up creating one or two good chances. But as the saying goes you get what you pay for, best describes how the chances were not converted by the team.
I am no way ‘knocking’ Giroud but any striker with a deadly touch could have converted one or two of those chances. Credit goes to Jagielka and Distin for a very resilient display at the back to keep the score at 0-0.
At exactly the ‘Arsene Wenger time’ for substitution he brought on Podolski and Alex to replace Jack and Walcott. Oxlade chamberlain straight away put Baines on the back foot with his decisive play on the right. We probed and flirted with the idea of scoring but with referee Neil Swarbrick determined to spoil the party from the offset it was going to be one of those nights.
The pros of the night were that we kept a clean sheet against a very good team even without Flappianski in goal. Secondly, Sagna seems to be playing for a new improved contract or a move to PSG. And finally Rambo had another display that would make a good youtube compilation.
With Moyes deploying all borderline lawful tactics that can be used in modern football including making a change in the 94th minute to run down the clock, I would have to say that it was a very good point for now at least. But the ball is firmly back in the court of the noisy neighbours.
At least the result was better than what happen exactly a year ago when we lost to Wigan 2-1 with arguably the best striker outside Messi on our payroll.
That was a painful night for me.
My train home was very depressing to the effect that I told myself not to wear my replica jersey on the train again.
Anyway have a grand day and stay safe.

nice piece guys, thank you
Rodgers has already said he wants him so surely he would go there?
Great post Ginge, well said and was to the heart of the matter.
Is that your first?
If so, more please.
That point will look decent if we beat Fulham, but terrible if we don’t.
Then again, if we can’t beat Fulham, everything will look terrible!!
Morning all.
Hi all,
Good post ts. So will Rosicky be in on Saturday?
Where was Rosicky ? His presence was sorely needed last night. I would gave put him on in place of Ramsey with 30 still to go – this would of changed the complexion of the game entirely.
Liverpool fans are celebrating the fact they will be playing in Europe at least twice next season-Cardiff and Swansea!!
Morning all.
Good read Ts, thank you..
‘You get what you pay for’.
This summer we need to make sure we pay for what we really need…
We are missing too many chances in front of goal, last night those misses cost us two points…
sorely missed was mr rosicky
“you get what you pay for” now then, there is line and a half 🙂
Definitely dis team must have to put their ass 2geda n fight til end
So might we still yet Scott 😉
I hope so Brad..
Morning all,
Good report Ginge, You described the night the way i watched it. I found the play a little boring if i speak the truth, but that is nothing new for this season. Many the time i see a player move forward only to look for runners or even players getting in positions to receive the ball but very often they have to turn back. I find this unacceptable, as we tend to play endless passes from one side to another. Walcott although blessed with loads of pace never seems to be ready to run. If Giroud is playing the central position where exactly does Walcott fit in He very seldom tackles and very seldom goes down the wing he marks empty spaces and is useless at the back what is his function. Giroud I know is doing his best but if we are honest with ourselves that is just not good enough. Jack was not really at the races i can only think he is still not fit, was Rossiski injured as i would have thought he would have been the better option. Although the team never lost and they did get knocked about, i felt that we played reasonable but i never felt at any stage we would get a result. Gibbs and Sagna worked all night i felt they are being asked to do what wingers should be doing so why don’t we have out and out wingers. Give me a Ya Ya Toure type player that can break in a forward manner as our midfield tend to go crablike, am i asking to much.
Morning all,
Super Ivan Gazidis Barmy Army !
What have we got, 5 games left, 2 at home, missed a great chance to really twist the knife last night.
Well said Sabinus….. where is Adam???
Your not asking too much SteveyP but it will cost ya about 220 grand a week for one of them.
I think Giroud should be our “plan B” striker, not our main man! Splash the cashish Arsene and buy a proven striker!
We’ll have to spend then Micko. 🙂
Lee – spot on with Giroud, he highlights perfectly how our expectations have reduced in recent years – No2 at very best
Hi Sp,
Totally agree on a Yaya kind of player, or even a Fellaini kind of player…
Didn’t we just Micko, out of our hands again I think and a tough fixture coming up this weekend…
It could all go horribly wrong….
Too right Lee….
Falcao would do… 😉
United to follow that
i so don’t want to get tied up in that europa league crap
Nice 1.
sp1 – hiya mate, spot on 10.24am
Lee, Gibbs would have to go down as my player of the season, if he hadn’t got injured when he did so late in the transfer window we never would have gone out and bought Monreal.
Its gonna be a tough game at The Cottage rico but we simply have to win it.
Oz, I think you need to play 67 games just to reach the final, imagine the excuses.
The lack of physical power from Arsenal last night really annoyed me basically every 50-50 tackle in midfield was lost bar the odd one, for me fellaini over powered every one quite easily. in my opinion i think we missed song last night, Arteta, wilshire, cazorla, ramesy all good players yes, but all similar in height and weight gibson(thug) was head and shoulders above all of them and is probably 10-15kg heavier which unfortunately made him effective, im not suggesting we go the stoke road of physicality but we seriously need to bulk up or get 1 or 2 players in to get the balance right for next season!
Big two weeks Oz, but as Potter pointed out yesterday, the stupid results earlier in the season cost us. As they so often do…
hiya Micko – I know mate, hopeless. I dunno, i just rate the whole comp as rubbish but then i am old fashioned. The ECL should be for champions not hangers on and the cup winners cup made sense to me – Money talks i guess fortunately for Arsene we would have had nothing for years if those rules still applied
Too afraid of Fellaini Kel, we let him run the show..
I know Rico and when you think back to some really half hearted efforts in games, we only have ourselves to blame. I will go out on a limb here but i think Chelsea might be closer to missing out than people admit to – one hell of a tough run in. United, Liverpool, Spuds – prey they are held tonight at Fulham, not out of the question either – if they get there with that run in, hats off to them
Adam am ere ernin di krust Mr Lee am lissen to di flute concerto from di man Mozart an on di keyboard writin di nonsense for di mags. Europa lige for me Mr Lee.
he’s a class player though Rico, to good for that lot says me when they are little more than a game behind us ha!
Morning Oz, maybe i expect to much from the team, but what i cannot accept is that we seem to make one step forward and then two back. Our defence was pittyfull and have now stiffened up, we have some very skillfull midfielders but they seem lightweight. Giroud i don’t really know what to say about him, you could cut his right leg off and i don’t think it would make a slight bit of difference. I find it hard to watch him as i keep thinking of Van Persie and some of the goals he seemed to score when i didn’t think he had a chance and now Giroud gets reasonable chances and does his best to miss.
Hi all,
There was a something good about yesterday, Ramsey played like a different animal, his controls , his passes, his movement, and his calling for the ball constantly. Him and Arteta swapped roles so many times that Arteta was able to attack quite a few times.
RAMSEY: man of the match
Alex OX should have played instead of Wilshere our game changed when he came in.
Podolski didn’t make any difference and Giroud : No comment.
Sagna defended well but he has forgoten how to cross.
Sour note was Wenger’s third substitution, unless Gibbs was injured, there was no sense in bringing monreal in at that time(Monreal personally wasted 2 minutes).
We should have won : 2 points dropped
MY VERDICT : Wenger should forget everything else and just buy Distin and Jagielka.
Next stop: street Robbery, Adam…. but first you gotta learn how to do da de-da pointing with da two fingers ….
Morning all …
rico. They way i see is why look around europe for a player like Fellaini we have the money, just do what utd would do…put 20m on the table for the big Belgium and get him! anyhow that can wait til the summer. lets hope fulham get a result tonight, because i honestly cant see us winning there on sat 🙁 2-0 up at the grove against them and still fucked it up… i was at that game and it still stings… Berbatov was the best player on the pitch that day, hope he gets injured tonight, after he scores 😉
soul mates we are sp1 – agree 110% – i was very upset in the summer over this signing and still am – he’s yet another one, clearly over rated by the professor and these constant mistakes cost you big points in big games. For you guys there to be charged the earth to watch that as your prime striker well….
SD. Distin was average at Newcastle Utd ….
….Jagielka has been good wherever he has been …. He is one of our missing links – that’s why Wenger has tried bringing him here…. …Ask any Sheff Utd or Everton Supporter how much they rate him….. It’s a pity Wenger only offered peanuts ….
.. But as the old saying goes … if you all you offer is peanuts??????
I forgot Chelsea have a tough run in, and Totts have a few tricky ones. Always relying on others….
Let’s hope our sights are set higher than the coveted fourth spot trophy next season!
Bergovic
Sakho
Capoue
Lewandowski…..
People are way too harsh on Giroud.
No, he should not be our main target man, because he is not good enough…….he may be in time.
It is fact- i have raised it and had it ignored several times- that he has only been a fulltime player for 3-4 seasons.
He has jumped from lower leagues in France, had one season in their in the top flight and come from there to Arsenal.
This is a massive achievement, and shows the guy has massive talent, yet Gooners want and expect a guy to be ready made, top flight player.
We have a right to expect ready made players, but since the club won’t spend top dollars on world class players, why blame the players brought in?
Check Girouds stats though, and comare them to Henry or RVP in their first season.
No, it does not mean he will turn out even half as good as them, but early on, did anone expect them to be as good??
Blame Wenger, Gazidis, Stan…whoever you like, but do not blame a player that didn’t cost the earth.
= silverware!
hi everyone, been really busy of late…I thought our crossing was v poor. Physically we done ok..Ref a bit soft , and Giroud was shocking with the shooting. Walcott after being battered by Gibson should have made way earlier. Im more upset on Arteta choosing not to shoot. overall we played well, but so did they. CAnt we go back to 4-4-2?
i think we’ll talk the talk Lee – but whether we walk the walk with quality, real quality, is another thing. Does Wenger even know what real quality is, given his constant boosting of some of these very average players? As so many now agree, quality costs. Its a risk but quality costs
Rico, every club relies on bad results from other sides.
If we had no bad results, Utd would be in trouble 🙂
SYG, if you pay peanuts you get Bale………………….!!
Well said George.
I like Arteta, but people stating Vermaelen should lose the captaincy to him need only look at his refusal to take a left footed shot that i would have put away.
Very, very disappointing.
SYG, some might say they’ve witnessed the odd 1 or 2 chimpanzee tea party displays home and away this season.
Bit dirty though Oz, just what we need 😉
Kel I suspect another club will offer big bucks for him in the summer and it won’t be us ….
i think Arteta has done an amazing job for this side Scott – he’s not a DM, never has been but you always get 100% from him and he has not complained once. He steps up and takes responsibility and his errors are few and far between mate – IMO he’s gold
I have to say that i hate Bale i hate that stupid heart thing he does after scoreing i hate the shirt he wears i hate the part of London he’s in but i would like to see him in our team i must be mad.
I still don’t get why Cazorla wasn’t put in the AM position after admitting it was wrong to rush Wilshere back and Pod is fit to play left. I also think Wilshere has let the media get to his head, barking orders instead of getting stuck in himself.
I’ve said before I’d rather have the unpredictability of Gerv than the crap Walcott puts out. At least there is a possibility of chances.
Scott, do you think if we weren’t playing Everton Arteta would have buried it? Girouds workrate is good, but if our crossing gets snuffed out every attempt , well… on an other day OG would have got a couple… Evertons Coleman was their unsung hero. I heard JW threw a punch at Mirallas..anyone else hear?
Good Morning to the Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.
TsGH – Good article. We sorely missed the more direct play and more accurate passing of the Little Mozart Rosicky. Too many of our paases in the attacking third were being picked off.
Wilshere is not match fit and shouldn’t be trying to regain it during the final run-in of the season.
im with you Bradster
Got to say i agree with a lot of what you say Scott, but i still think that we deserve a striker of renown after selling Henry and Persie. as i said i think Giroud does his best, but we need better. We moan about Gibbs and Sagna’s crossing but at the end of the day they are fullbacks. They are shithot fullbacks and i would also say that Jenks and Monreal are also class but they are not wingers. Ramsey run his heart out last night and i remember him running down the left wing last night busting a gut to try and cross but the poor sods legs wasn’t as strong as his heart and he fell over. Horses for courses thats what we need.
Scott – yes but at this time of the season it’s not ideal….
Hi Cg
😆 Wath
SP1 thought Back 4 and Ramsey were excellent last night. Ramsey was v good and Cazorla was his usual self. TW14 was a disappointment, and when we put on LP and OX we threatened more but Everton weren’t exactly quaking in their boots. I know OX offered more but maybe playing egghead on the left and replacing OG for LP up top might of been a better proposition.
Bradster – I too agree. Cazorla would have been better with the forward passes and Gervinho would have given us more pace. As in the game against the Canaries the substitutions introduced more pace and directness of play and we were getting more balls into the box.
As for Giroud, I still think he was bought to play with the Lieing Dutchman not replace him. Giroud gives us the targetman who can hold up, lay of the ball, and score with his head. However, like Chamakh before him, he is starved for good crosses and is marginallised.
Steve, that is my point though….we do deserve better, but i just don’t think it is fair that we blame the player because the club didn’t buy better.
Oz, it is the first time i have criticised Arteta mate, i am with you, but that was the time to step up and take the shot.
I am not saying he is to blame for the loss, because he was terrific over all, but better to shoot and miss than not shoot at all.
The best crosser of a ball Arsenal has is Andre Santos.
He should at least have been tried in front of Gibbs.
Jenks on the right gives good service as well.
The best ball put over yesterday was from Ramsey but we all know where it ended 🙂
Sadly we needed a striker to be RVP but have the strength and aerial prowess of Giroud if we ever got a cross right.
Our midfield is unbalanced. Arteta is a good player, but he is not a DM, although he does give it his all. As mentioned already, due to a lack of height and muscle in the midfield we were constantly getting bullied of the ball and forced into rushing our passes.
Or two up front Bradster.
We were bullied, but only because the referee was so bloody soft.
He allowed Everton to get away with murder, offering warning after warning, yet pings Monreal on his first foul.
I’d love to hear his explaination.
Morning George, agree with the back 4, even the back7 counting the guys in waiting they all do a good job. Ramsey for me is being wasted he wants to go forward he wants to create but we don’t support him. I have moaned about him like i have moaned about everyone but Ramsey will be a vital role i’m sure of it. What is getting to me is why Merts Kosi and the Verm go up for corners and free kicks as none of them ever stand where the ball comes down i forget the last time anyone of them headed anything why waste their legs running up and down its not as if any has any pace anyway.
Scott – We don’t currently have the midfield to play 4-4-2. We desperately need someone in the Vieira or Silva mould.
I dont blame Giroud at all and i think he has performed beyond expectations in my opinion.
Coming from that league and that team to be the main striker of Arsenal, is a big step.
Steve, Ramsey actually got on the end of a few of our corners.
Is he that good at reading the flight, or the others that bad?
Crazy situation.
Hi CG.
Is Frimpong still around?
He gets stuck in and loves the dirty stuff.
Scott – I agree regarding the referee, but that is not an uncommon occurence. We’ll get that sort of officiating regularly. We still need some real steel in the midfield to break-up play and hold onto the ball until a good passing opportunity opens up. We were being harried in the centre and mistiming &/or mishitting our final passes.
Scott – I think Frimpong may well have been a better option than a slow and unfit Jack the Lad.
CG, i agree we need an enforcer.
Fellaini was an animal, but i wish he were our animal.
My gut feeling is that Wenger does not muster up enough courage to drop Wilshere. Immediately he said he rushed Wilshere back, Wilshere came out to say he is now very okay, indirectly telling Wenger that he must play. I hope he does not turn out a bad influence in our camp. or become bigger than the coach. I did not like how he was only walking off the pitch, instead of running when we were a goal down against Norwich and he was being changed. Obviously he was not happy to be changed even when he was not doing well on the pitch.
I think minus Theo and Jack yesterday, everyother player worked so hard. jack worked hard but it does not just work for him now. Rosicky would have been much better. Theo did nthing from start to the end. why the hell was The Ox on the bench when Theo was practically lying down on the pitch.
Giroud tries his best, which is not good enough, at least not yet. I have a feeling he will be much better next season.
Scott – TsGH hit the nail on the head “But Moyes came with one aim and motive and that was to frustrate the Arsenal and nick a win if possible on a set-piece or two.” Fellaini and Gibson were no Stoke Rugby FC players, but they were pushing the envelope.
Fairplay to Everton, CG.
Consistency is all anyone can ask of a ref though, and that is why the yellow on Nacho was just ridiculous.
Uzo, i think Jack is just ultra competitive and wants to play every minute he can.
It is a mystery to me why Arsene perservered with an obviousl unfit but game Wilshere when he had Rosicky on the bench. As for Walcott, maybe his sister can teach him how to take a knock and keep on going without bleating like some lost little lamb. It’s not going to get any easier.
CG, think you’ll find Rosicky wasn’t anywhere near 100% fit either and Jack was the fitter of the two in which case neither should of played or even been on the bench.
Coquelin is another who can handle the hard stuff.
It may have even be the perfect chance to try Vermaelen as a DM.
Right on cue, a replay of Arsenal v Liverpool from 97/98.
First thing i see is Lee Dixon take an air swing 18 yards out lol.
Then Owen go straight past Ould.
Thems the days, when defenders never made mistakes 🙂
1-0 down from defensive blunders.
2-0 down…keeper parries straight to attacker who centres it to passes to team mate 2 feet out unmarked.
Our current guys look safe 🙂
3-0 down and we are defending like crap.
@SP 11:54 lol…I often wondered why TV5 and Merts bother. Only Kos wants to head the ball from corners
No bites??
Well, the game i am watching was after we had the league sewn up, and had most of our best plays missing 🙂
W.A.T.H – If what you said is true regards Wilshere and Rosicky, and I’m not doubting you, neither should have been on the teamlist. They’re too susceptable to further/new injuries and all Wilshere needs is another long injury layoff to set him even further back.
The whisper yesterday morning CG was that Rosicky wasn’t fit hence they put him on the bench but that’s pathetic if you cant play 90mins you should not be on the bench to as you say come on for 10mins and risk another injury or a recurrence of the injury your carrying.
Bloomin doorbell….
Afternoon all. Nice write up Ts. Not sure what to make of yesterday’s match other than we got owned in the first half, Even without Fellaini being at his best, which is a bit worrying. Back 4 were good, with most praise going to the 2 CB’s. Rambo had a good game. I’d rather he sat back a bit more though as watching him (trying to) sprint after a ball played down the line was embarrassing (especially when he was so unbalances he spooned the ball out of play with his wrong foot when running after the ball). But I’ll forgive him that as he put a decent shift in. Wilshere should have started on the bench. He looked out of it the whole match. Slow, clumsy, poor control and always a yard off the pace. Rosicky would have been a better shout. I ever think Gerv could have caused Coleman a few more problems than we were. We really do need a destroyer in the middle of the park. No idea who though. Giroud should have tucked his easier 2 chances away. Ox should NEVER have tried to slide a pass across when he was through ion goal. I’ve no idea why most of our players (yes Mikel… I’m looking at you…) shit their pants instead of pulling the trigger. If that was Podolski in either case, he would have smashed the shit out of that ball.
Well said Rocky.
Podolski needs morw game time….he would have put 3 away given the chances others had.
TV5 used to score many from corners, what has changed?
Scott – After yesterdays game the Sky Sports feed I was watching showed highlights of another old Arsenal vs. Liverpool game. The one where Arshavin scored 4 goals and it ended up a 4-4 tie. Anyway, our defending was once again excrement; but our attacking play, especially from the counter-attack off a turnover, was fast and direct. Hence, four goals for Arshavin.
If he is fit and working hard and effectively in training, as Arsene said just the other day, why wasn’t he on the teamlist instead of Wilshere or Rosicky? Arshavin may have given us that little bit of guile and magic we were so obviously missing in front of goal.
CG, there must be a lot going on in the background concerning various players that we just don’t know about.
Questions are constantly raised yet no answers are forthcoming.
Arshavin is a player that can turn a game in a few seconds.
What has he done to deserve his treatment?
Who knows??
Scott’s comment on 2 strikers earlier. I only see that working if we play 3-5-2 with wing backs and TV/Kos covering for them with Merts the sweeper. As I’ve seen mentioned, we need a general in the middle for 4-4-2 to work. We however don’t have wingers that will patrol the flanks to assist attack and cover the full back.
Gibbs could do the job on the left in front of Nacho, and try Aaron on the right, maybe??
Vermaelen as a DM??
Worth a try, i reckon.
Hi Rocky.. Really don’t get why players are too scared to shoot either, well apart from Pod and Santi these days.. We all know Arteta can score goals from distance..
Pod and Giroud up front surely has to be the best option with who we have now
Rico, Ox surprised me, because he has never been shy to shoot.
He was so close to goal, even a shot would nearly have been a cross for Giroud, if that makes sense.
By looking for the pass, the lack of pace on the ball gave the defender a chance to get there first.
at least with the shot there wopuld have been a huge risk of a ricochet if the keeper got anything on it. It’s just so wasteful. I thought my throat was going to explode following that….. I’ve never shouted such prolonged profanities at anyone for such a long period of time as I did when Ox tried to pass that.
At such a LOUD volume!
Well the birds are starting to sing, dawn can’t be far off. So, I’m off to bed for some beauty (Ha Ha!) sleep. Have a good afternoon/evening/tomorrow morning as applicable. Keep the faith!
Could hear you from down under, Rocky 🙂
Night CG.
I am off to guys.
Have a great day.
I’d be amazed if you didn’t Scott. My neighbours (flat down the hall) actually asked this morning when I saw them on the way out if everything was alright as they were a bit worried!
NIght to those off to bed!
just off for a bite to eat. back in a bit
Interesting point on Arshavin Scott – Wenger continues to talk him up every chance he gets and yet clearly doesn’t trust him for 5 minutes a game, what is that all about?
I still can’t believe we didn’t take Berbatov. especially in how similarly he plays to RVP. I guess Wenger really thought he was gonna keep RVP until Kroenke flew to Germany.
Night Cg & Scott..
Few choice words in my house too….
Apparently RVP told him he wanted off hours after the season ended mate – the supposed “good meeting” Gazidis talked of was rubbish – there were also rumours RVP through family pressure later offered a change of heart on his move and Wenger said no – again the only thing official i have actually seen was the first report. RVP stated he was always leaving and made in clear very quickly after the final game – who knows – massive loss no matter how it played it
night Scott night CG
So many versions Oz, I have no idea which one is true. I’d lean towards what RVP says as he has no reason to hide the truth as there’s no repercussions to it.
It’s a tough one really, RvP knew Pod was joining, Giroud, well he maybe a decent signing but he was hardly one that would have helped convince RvP to stay, Santi would though but by then it was all too late….
Off for an hour….
Good summing up tsgh.
1st half non event really.
2nd half we have to step it up,
everton continue to use Felliani in a deeper postion,
no way through the middle, with a half fit jack/w,
theo(68mins) having a mare again,
wengers waited,a bit to long to bring on an inform oxo(68mins),
15 minutes earlier may have made a big difference,
to this game.
Thought ramsey done well again,
his beginning to look very strong.
The team has done well the last 9 games,
but its the right decisions at the right times, that make
the difference, when playing the better teams.
Been out with Rico apparently…..
Swansea City football club have chucked in a planning application to Swansea City Council to expand the Liberty Stadium with an extra 11,000 seats.
Too much Cava for Andre.
Top clip Lee.
Therein lies part of the reason….
…Arshavin can’t get a game – yet the non smoking and non beer guzzling Abou Diaby is always the first name on the team sheet …. ………..Diaby was being considered for the box-to box role last night but his wheelchair had a buckled wheel and needed seven spokes refitting after he had lost control of it on the A2 on his way home from seeing his GP in Gay Paris (Par-ee) on Monday…
…… According to news agency Reuters his wheelchair should be ready for the start of next season…
Adam, my dear friend that is commonly known in the trade as an “over-cava!” You wait in a while the C.Q will appear!!! 😆
🙂 svg
bit of a sad story the Arshavin story, clearly very skilful and talented but the whole Arsenal thing really went bad for him didn’t it – plays for his country and you wouldn’t believe its the same player. Although they do tend to play him in his correct position of course
Don’t feel too sad for him Oz, he’s taking home £45k + net p.w……. must be really tough for him!
Oz playing a player in his correct position seems to be half the battle!
So it comes to this, it seems preordained that Man United will win the league on our ground with, no doubt our former captain scoring the goals that secures them the title in our home and putting a major dent in our CL hopes… Where to from here?
Cup losses to lower league teams.
Lossing to spurs.
25+ point gap between us and the top.
A possibility of missing out on CL football for the first time in 16 years.
Where does it end?
Oz but I do get what you mean….
i don’t Paul, i don’t know mate – Wenger has himself absolutely secure though, that is very obvious. Never in the game have i seen someone so totally in control of everything as this guy is and i truly believe its very unhealthy for the Arsenal Football Club
You’re dead right its beyond unhealthy Oz, would love to know what will be done to set this right.. My guess, nothing.
Couple of polyfilla signings no doubt. If we hadn’t been drummed 8-2 by united last season, the only two signings that summer would have been Ox and Gervinho, that is frightening, to think Wenger actually thought that was enough! The same summer Nasri and Cesc left.
We don’t buy stars we make them…..sad but true!
i know his fans will argue “oh its the press its not him” but he’s really has come out with some quite amazing rubbish over the last few years, like his recent, “we proved we get stronger as the season grows” I was saying the other day, this highlights to me how far removed he is from basic reality – the last 2 years have ended with 1 win in the last 5 both times – Its only my opinion but i truly believe him and Gazidies clearly lied about RVP to everyone so as not to effect signings – Pod and Caz both made public statements they were looking forward to playing with RVP do you remember?
We haven’t made one in a while though! We bought Santi, the one thing keeping our season (some what) together!
Imagine if the rapist had stayed…..
If we’d kept him lee and brought in the others that we did, who knows, we could have pushed for the title, I can tell you for sure that United would not be 15 points clear.
i think most have conceded this now Paul – He was a huge loss in more ways than one
anyway i put a quid on Fulham for a point tonight, fingers crossed
Yeah thats possible Oz. I hope either WH or AV can beat united, not likely though…
Come on you Hammers 🙂
Afternoon….
why the talk of RVP again on this site ?
I lost all sensitivity to his records or history with us finally when i saw him hugging Fergie last week.
Then it might just be the £200k, but still don’t let us keep talking about him.
High Rico – United deserve their triumph, many people called Fergie and said he’d brought the wrong player, wasted money etc but once again the old fox proves why he stands alone in this country – his spending has not been that large either over the last few years in you look at their in and outs.
Busy busy busy, today.
Not had time to read comments.
Good effort Ginge, enjoyed that.
Leave the shirt at home… 😉
good evening mate
SD, that sight made me feel ill…
Hi Kev, I thought of you earlier, thanks for taking me by that way…..
RVP had already been tapped before the end of the season so he knew Man Utd was ready to pay £200k no way was Arsenal going to match that.
But maybe he thought they will come closer with maybe £170k per week but no Arsenal were not going to match that either and Arsene Wenger’s brain can’t comprehend a player been payed that much, I am sure Wenger told the club to sell him.
One thing though is that , Giroud is gonna be hot next season ( I think so)
Hi Oz, I think deep down we all knew he’d do well, we just struggled to accept him leaving for them….
I’d rather City won the PL, at least we could all say ‘they bought it’ 😉 😉
SD, how re Giroud, are we changing the footie season to the summer 😉
I see nothing in Giroud that indicates that SD but hope you are right,
yeah see your point Rico
well good people off to bed and look on the bright side tonight Rico if United get a clean sheet i pull further ahead in the fantasy league!!! yeeaahhh 🙂 Night all
I rate Giroud. I have since u first saw him play. His movement is good and his holdup play is excellent. Awesome header of the ball and a decent left foot. Must be the most unlucky player ever as I have never seen more goal-bound shots blocked off a single player before. However, he still clearly lacks the element that makes a striker top quality… That is the ability to convert half-chances …especially when it could be game changing. I’ve seen him miss enough half chances to know he doesn’t have it. And I know it’s his first season, but he has been our first choice striker for the entire season. Virtually uncontested apart from the few matches Theo got the nod. I expected a boom in the second half of the season since he should be comfortable by now. But it hasn’t happened and I don’t suspect it will. He has done well enough to warrant a second season assessment tho, and I hope he will improve. I’d still invest in a proven game changer however. Wenger should feel the same.
Night Oz, rest well…
Nite Oz, AA will leave this summer on a free, pick up a big signing on fee back in Russia and put his Arsenal nightmare behind him.
I’d loved to have seen him in training, different class apparently, not the best bit of business we’ve ever done.
Will, I hope he improves next season, if he sharpens his shooting pencil he’s be a lot better but then rather annoyingly, the same could be said for more than just him…
You seen the pics in the press Micko, AA looks far worse for wear than I did last Thursday 😉
Hi rico, was just checking out the clip Lee put up earlier, a couple of nice shimmies in there from the little Russian, sounds like you let hair down last week , good on ya !
I did Micko, not that I have much of it 😉
AA has to be one of most gifted players AW has signed in the last few years, yet his decline is so so difficult to understand.
The players fault or the way he’s been managed?
Off out tonight so heading off for the day…
You all have a good evening…
Night all…
Hi all,
Blame Rico for my mediocre post… I had little choice after she threatened to blackmail me… 😀
Hopefully, Emmanuel Frimps will do a job on the chavs for us tonight
I sometimes wonder if Wenger was the driving force behind the Arshavin purchase. I nremember Wenger saying when we were first linked that he did not believe that Arshavin could hack it in our league. Also looking back all the comments from Lachter the agent said that he was negotiating with Gazidis . I just wonder if Wenger actually wanted him or whether the deal was done by Gazidis.
Ah… good one potter for remembering that. I remember Dennis Lachter saying AW only said that to put off barcelona and the transfer price…
That’s more like it Kalou is back on Wenger’s radar….normal service is being resumed!
Moaning all….
That isn’t even funny about Kalou 😉
Morning Lee and all….
What awful news coming out of Texas…..
Morning all,
Funny watching AA23 doing his best impression of a systema practitioner at the night club door squabbling with a bouncer…
Waco Texas again…?
Morning Ts
And how far offside was Rvp for the Mancs equaliser.. Does that draw at West Ham mean the may not be able to win the PL at The Emirates…
Morning Rico,
They need 3 points in more the next 4 matches to win the league so yes….
3 points more ….
Yes he was offside but Alan Smith says he is a clinical striker so…. its fair…
Thanks Ts, Smudger talks rubbish then…
Ts – The DM reckon the Mancs need 4 points 🙁
maybe because $hitty won… it was said on sky last weekend they needed 7 points out of 4 if $hitty drop points
RVP should be locked out of our stadium.
He does not deserve to grace the turf ever again.
Morning all.
Morning Rico. Surely Kalou is the top striker we need.
Of the keepers we are being linked to, how many are actually an upgrade on what we have??
Keepers from lower sides let a hell of a lot past them.
We have a shit defence yet our keepers let less through.
Right or wrong?
Who is this Kalou dude 🙂
I haven’t a Kalou.
Morning Adam – You think so? 😉
Prob Ts..
Morning Scott, most I’d say…
I don’t know Rico. I am confused now because I am seeing a new side to Gervinho. A softer, more caring side.
Has anyone else noticed Gerv is parting his hair on the opposite side of his head?
He has also actually scored a few goals of late.
I think there are a pair of identical twins.
Have you stopped taking your meds Adam?
One Gervinho is bad enough Scott, don’t scare us…
New post up now…
