Wenger to make American move? Jack's not back and Theo talks… again!

Chelsea squeezed past ten man Benfica last night in the Champions League, good for them I say and good for us! Their next fixture in the competition is against Barcelona in the semi-final. Two legs of course and I think I’m right in saying that our league fixture sits the weekend between the two fixtures.

Chelsea will no doubt be very eager to seek revenge after a controversial night in 2009 when referee Tom Henning Ovrebo turned down FOUR blues penalty claims.

Clint Dempsey is in the football news today and again he’s being linked with a switch to us in the summer, if I remember rightly, he was last summer too. His name has been mentioned on here often and should this one have a hint of truth in it, any move for the American would go down well wouldn’t it?

According to The Daily Express, Lukas Podolski turned down big money offered by Anzhi Makhachkala in favour of joining us this summer. Reports suggest that the deal he has struck with us is worth £100,000 a week but he could have earned double that amount had he moved to Russia.

However, our ‘new man’ was adamant that football and not money would dictate his decision on his future. Good Man!

Talking of good men, Jack Wilshere was rumoured to have been in with a chance of featuring in a ‘behind closed doors’ fixture yesterday against Birmingham but that didn’t materialise as he wasn’t fit enough. He is though pencilled in for a run out for the reserves on Tuesday 10th April, against Newcastle.

Theo’s been having a chat again, I thought he’s stopped all that? Why does he do it?

Talking ahead of the Citeh game, he thinks we are ready to bounce back and show we can get back to winning ways.

I think that we can deal with pressure when it is thrown upon our shoulders, the manager always takes it on his back, but as players we can cope with that now because we had that tough period.  We had a lot of injuries, things weren’t going our way and Tottenham were 10 points ahead. But we dealt with that, we continued playing our football and completely turned it around.

When people play at their full potential it makes the job so much easier. We need to learn to do this more often. We have got everything. People are coming out of their shells, playing at the top of their games and staying fit, I am as frustrated as the fans that we can’t do it throughout the season.

Every team has their bad period, we have been up and down at stages; we weren’t playing particularly badly, we just weren’t getting results and it is all about results.  We are learning to grind out results now. The Everton game for example, saw us play very well for 20 minutes but after that it was all Everton. But we still won 1-0 and that is what we need to do more often.

We have real character in the squad, a lot of leaders and captains, and that helps us.

Don’t want to point out the obvious, but where was all that ‘grinding’ last weekend, where was the leadership?

Anyway, we have dissected that game enough…

We couldn’t be facing Citeh at a better time in my humble opinion. They have in-house issues which are spilling onto the pitch, they have players arguing about who will take free-kicks and the pressure to win the Premier League is starting to show.

We are the wounded animal, individuals will be angry with themselves, Wenger will be unhappy too after last weekend and I doubt we’ll see another performance like that again this season!

There is no better place to be after a bad game than at The Emirates, in front of the home fans and on grass which looks like Centre Court at Wimbledon before the tournament begins…

Roll on Sunday….

Have a good day all….

    Morning all….

I’m never going to moan about the fixture pile up again, 8 days between games is sooooooooo boring 😉

  2. Adam says:

Morning all. Woke up to the yawn inducing news that we are interested in Clint Dempsey. Wow. He really could shoot us to the top of the PL eh? Think I’ll go back to bed.

  3. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, nice one rico,
I must admit Theo has always got something to say when his form returns, he is a player that can turn a game and has on many ocassions, I like Theo but he frustrates the hell out of me. I would like to see him take on his player more and get to grips with defenders, he is no kid now and has gained a lot of experience if Theo has a weakness its the physical side of the game and if he can sort that out he may even get his chance up top. congratulations to Chelski last night they made hard work of it but got there in the end.I get the feeling that racing Jack back is not for Arsenals benefit but for Englands and i don’t like how things are proceeding, its my view that Wilshere has been out all season and should not even come into the England equasion others who have played all season and have stayed fit should get the opotunity to searve their country first maybe i am an old fuddy duddy but fairs fair, i wish Jack well in his efforts to get fit but i would like to believe that its for helping the Arsenal to Champions league and not ulterier motives.

  4. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

    Morning guys,

I’m so starved of football, can’t wait for the game this weekend.

  5. rico says:

Morning Adam, don’t snore too loud ….

I wouldn’t mind if we signed Dempsey, wouldn’t surprise me if we did either, Stan would probably like a fellow countryman in the squad 😉

  6. rico says:

    Morning Steve,

I hope Jack doesn’t come back this season, thats the only way to keep him from the Euros, how he can even consider it i don’t know, let him have the summer to rest and be 100% for pre-season.

Just before the WC in South Africa, Nik did the same, returned for just a couple of games, went to the WC and came back injured and out for twoor three months…

I thought it was only Diaby that could go to the WC and pick up an injury 😉

Theo – well imho he should shut up…

  7. alanbstardmp says:

    Hi Rico & all

Podolski still undecided. Maybe Wenger will spring a surprise and Christ will transfer over at Easter and Bendtner will finally be punted

  8. Adam says:

My wife has firmly vetoed my return to bed Rico. But I was wondering why you think we should sell Aaron Ramsay….

  9. Mattyboy says:

    sup peeps,

Doe any one else have issue posting, trying to post all afternoon yesterday and they would send put wasnt displaying :S

Good post btw… and Boycott is a plonker lol

  10. rico says:

Don’t start Adam, go back to bed 😉 😉

Hi Matty, don’t know what the prob was yesterday, did have a prob a few weeks back with wordpress, to get around it, its best to create a worpress account and then loogging on is easier..

  11. deejay1952 says:

what i like about this site is you dont get some dickhead who has to put ‘first’. Must be some 15 year old in his ‘first’ season. i find it annoying the amount of ‘twittering’ from our players about what we need to do… dont lose focus etc. . usualy followed by dropped points.

  12. Scott From Oz says:

    Evening all.
    Please don’t mention Ramsey today!!!
Against Citeh,we have no excuses at all
We simply win or its a fail mark.

  13. Mattyboy says:

    Will do rico cheers man!

So we back on the Ramsey Saga again? i hope wenger give yossi some play time, i would of put him on the left against QPR!! i think yossi is class.

  14. rico says:

    welcome deejay…

we have been saying that here too about the comments, tweets etc from players, but they do seem to have cut down recently. If players want to talk, do it on the pitch….

    Hi Scott, who?? 😉

Every game has to be a win now, otherwise the worst scenario could happen….

  15. stevepalmer1 says:

City will be a tough game, they have some unbelievable players, we will have a job holding them. All though our defences have tightened up we still get exposed to often our midfield will have to work overtime and i hope its not all in our half, we may as you have stated Rico caugt them at what might be considered a vulnerable time but i might point out that we are not at our best as well. Diceplined play is what we need to get through this game, we need our team to not only defend well but also to attack quickly on breakaways which we do have a tendancy to sit back when under pressure. Robin has gone 3 games without adding to his tally he will be under huge pressure to open the scoreing we need to be at our best to pick up points as we all know what do points make!!!!!!

  16. alanbstardmp says:

it just depends what mood they are in. This is a team that can beat Man City, then lose to a team in the relegation zone

    I N C O N S I S T E N C Y

  17. rico says:

I think the game will be very open Steve, which will suit us – they need to win to stand any kind of chance of winning the PL.

They may have a squad of fantastic players but they are not all singing of the same hymn-sheet right now…

Richards, if he takes on Gibbs will be a big concern, but this should be a game for Theo to shine in….

  18. Mattyboy says:

hope we do them bloody do them im spending £70 + travel to see this game or wengo will be getting a arsey letter through the post 😛

  19. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

City have beaten us twice this season, but have been lucky both times.

I’m confident with FB’s and a fit team we can do them.

Plus RVP needs to get over this ridiculous goal drought. It’s a disgrace 😉

  20. rico says:

Sell him Romford, get a striker who can score goals eh 😉 😉

He’ll score on Sunday, Hart is rubbish 😉

  21. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Scott, hope your well mate, They have some really good talent and they come at you all the time good on the wings and good inside they have an excelent goalkeeper if we should get that far up the pitch and we are not at our strongest. To be perfectly honest when we have a fully fit squad to chose from i can see us beat any team but when we are still relying on Chamakh and an out of form Gervinho as our subs we will not get too far, we need a lot of luck and and we know who the FA side with and it aint us.

  22. Mattyboy says:

Yeh Just look out for the pound coin launch at Narsi head!!! That we done in the name of the Highbury house crew lol!

  23. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

Hart is an absolutely outrageous GK. Defences may have been poor in the EPL this season but we are definitely not short of good goalies. Hart, Vorm, Krul, Ruddy and even De Gea is now showing his worth.

Still wouldn’t swap any of them for Chesney though!

P.S Does anybody else think he’s trying to look like an Essex boy with that Brentwood sweepover?!

  24. rico says:

Ouch Matty, we don’t want our fans to go down that path, coin throwing is really dangerous and could blind or kill someone….

  25. Mattyboy says:

Im only messin rico i wouldnt really!! nasri would only prob pick it up and it to his piggy bank collect anyways.

  26. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning Romford Pete, i agree Czez has made a difference but anything happens to him and were in the siht we have done nothing about this and its been like this for the whole season we have been lucky but that wont hold out forever.

  27. rico says:

    Romford,

I think Chesney is too comfortable, he needs a good keeper challenging him for the number 1 spot, that would keep him on his toes a bit….

  28. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

I agree we could probably do with better back-up. Someone who is experienced and wouldn’t mind playing second fiddle.

Someone like Sorensen maybe? I’m sure he’d jump at the chance.

  29. rico says:

The Swampies have been saved many points by Brad Friedel this season, if they still had Gormless in gols, theyd be mid-table 😉

  30. rico says:

Damian Martinez says he will be ready for the first team whenever Arsène Wenger needs him.

The young Argentine has impressed in Neil Banfield’s reserves set-up since the start of the season, emerging as the second string’s regular goalkeeper at the age of 19.

Martinez’s performances have been rewarded with two appearances on the first-team bench – against Shrewsbury and Leeds – and he is keen for taste of the senior side before the season’s end.

“I have been training all my life and I am ready to play,” Martinez told Arsenal.com.

“Gerry [Peyton, the goalkeeper coach,] said to me that I would be on the bench for the Carling Cup and then I was there for the FA Cup too. He said to me: ‘If you have to come on, are you ready?’, and I said ‘Yes, I am ready’.

“I am still looking forward to being on the bench for a few more games, trying to do my best in the reserves and then be ready for the first team. These are my ambitions for the next two months.”

But while a shot at the first team is Martinez’s ultimate target, a loan move may be the next step for the young goalkeeper.

Wojciech Szczesny enjoyed a hugely successful six-month loan spell at Brentford during the 2009/10 campaign and Martinez admits a similar experience may be his best route to the first team.

“He [Wojciech] said he wasn’t ready for the first team yet so he went out on loan and learned so much there,” said Martinez. “Then he came back to Arsenal and played in the first team as he was ready.

“Next season a loan spell could be an option for me.”

  31. stevepalmer1 says:

Lets face it we are up against one of the best sides in the premier league, and it has to be said we are punching above our weight, i was at the game against QPR at christmas time and watched a very boreing 1.o victory and my mate said to me after the game this is the worst Arsenal team he had watched in forty years. I had to agree with him and even now after a few wins and remarkable climb back we still rely on Chamakh Diaby Djurou and mertsacker who i have to say i don’t rate, Ramsey as has been mentioned has lost a bit of form Gervinho visit to Africa has taken all his strength and others just seem to be going through the motions When i believe that once we passed the spuds we should have pushed on but we lose to QPR who lets face it will probably not be with us for next season. The Manchester sides are in their rightfull positions they have been cosistant all year they have had their ups and downs but they will ultimatly be the first and second in the division and there is nothing we can do about it we had our chance to pressurise them and blew it the weekend Spuds winning and leveling with us again will only spur them on and we have city this weekend doesn’t look good but i could be wrong i hope i am.

  32. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

Relying on two young GK’s isn’t advisable IMO. I’d get someone like Sorensen in on a two year contract and after some loan and more experience, Martinez should be ready.

  33. adam says:

Eggsellent news Rico. Will you fry, scramble or poach it. Anybody seen MoneyBall? Kroenke reckons Wenger is English football’s Billy Beane. I watched it last night. Brad Pitt seems to have decided that eating is a substitution for acting, a trait I first noticed in Oceans Eleven.

  34. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

    Steve, don’t be so pessimistic.

You’re forgetting we played 3/4 months without any recognised FB’s. That above anything harmed our attacking play. Bar the QPR game last week, we’ve been scoring pretty regularly and in TV5 and Kos, we have a partnership that could be the best in the league IMO.

What we do need is just “quality” squad depth and to get rid of the dross. The fact that the “worst Arsenal team in 15 years” is above the “best Spurs team ever” speaks volumes still.

    We’re not far off.

  35. rico says:

Steve – i can understand why you say that, i really can…

But, on our day, with the right attitude and all at the top of their game, we can beat most sides, including Citeh. But, the biggest test will be for the players and whether or not they can be arsed on Sunday….

Somehow, i think they will, playing against better sides seems to raise the momentum in the players – where as i think they all get too complacent when up against the so called lesser sides. That seems to be the trend over the last few seasons, something that really needs addressing and changing….

  36. allezkev says:

Sir Steve. The worst Arsenal team, surely, has to be the 1974~75~76 teams. Cast your mind back to those teams and i think you’ll find our lowest finishes since The War.
    Morning Gooners btw.
    Morning Rico. Nice post.

  37. DutchGooner10 says:

    Morning Housers,

Rico congrats on your first fresh cackleberry. 🙂 Now you can fry your own smiley.

I had problems yesterday evening as well, my posts didn’t came through. 🙁 Could be a WordPress hick up. Or network issues here in tulip-land.

Btw got all the names from the spot-it??

  38. Micko says:

    Morning all,
Chamakh and Park out, dempsey in, it’s a good start.

rico, high stools to that, they only start laying when they feel safe and confident, looks like they’ve found a new home, I’ll have mine sunny side up please.

  39. rico says:

Romford, he won’t be our back up next season, as he says at the end, a loan for him is the next move.

That’s why an aging keeper has to be a must, to push Ches and to give Martinez time to get some experience on loan and then be ready to really challenge Ches…

Thats why i hope its Jussi, he’s 36 years old and fre in the summer, he could give us three years and then sign him up as GK coach….

  40. Romford Pele (formerly HC) says:

I’m not feeling the Dempsey signing particularly. Where is he going to play? I don’t think he’s a vast improvement on anything in the team atm.

  41. rico says:

    Romford,

i don’t think we are far off either, same old really, get rid of the dross, sign up four good players and we’ll be there…

Morning DG, thank you re the chick, sign up to a wordpres account and any probs will be resolved….

Morning Micko, hopefully the little buggers are now happy and will stop trying to get out 😉

  42. rico says:

Adam Bogdan is Bolton’s number one now isn’t he?

Surely with our good rapport with Coyle, the Bolton manager could persuade Jussi to join us….

  43. stevepalmer1 says:

Sorry guys and Gals, i was bitterly disappointed Saturday and have not snapped out of it yet your right i should be looking forward and not dwell on the past Sir AK you have the memory of a genius and i conceed but they were bad Christmas mate. We seem to get ourselves into these predicaments we say we are looking at Vertonghen yet we buy Mertsacker a slower defender i have not seen, he will be caught out many many times i would sell him now along with Sqidgy and djourou buy a defender who can defend for all the right reasons we do need a clear out and a shake up we need to sort out why we go through so many injuries and change the way we do our training it can’t just be bad luck apart from that i will try and look up and keep my fingers crossed but i have a sneeky feeling you know where i’m coming from.:)

  44. rico says:

It’s far from our worst team ever, it may not be the best we have ever had, but it’s nowhere near our worst.

The problem is imho, fans see us on a bad little run, sitting near the bottom of the league and all is ‘slit your wrists time’ but – we had no full backs for a long period of time, TV was playing at left back, JD at Rb and then Merts got injured…..

Of course a side missing that many players and with players out of position isn’t always going to look the best, but that same team got us to where we are now…..

telling you guys, we are going to beat Citeh, and that’s coming from someone who thought we’d lose to Qpr 😉

  45. goonster says:

Hey micko my man, how are you doing fella? Dude this new job won’t kill me. Hopefully I ll get a break pretty soon.

  46. rico says:

All good thanks goonster, you have a new job?

Of course we missed you, especially missing your transfer rumours 😉

  47. Scott From Oz says:

Most posts have been pretty negative this week, but really,we’ve lost one of our last 8 and beat some handy sides.
    I just don’t get it.
On the coin throwing,I will bet every single thing I own on the fact that the prick who threw it was aiming at RVP,and not the linesman.
Watch it and the angle it came from.
It was straight at RVP,but the linesman drifted in from the side.

  48. rico says:

    😆 AK, I’ve missed that line…

Scott, not really fussed who it was aimed at, no place for any of that in any sport. Hope they catch the brainless idiot and lock him up….

  49. Scott From Oz says:

    I’m well Steve.
All packed and ready to go camping in the morning.
    Looking forward to getting away.
I’m hoping the local pub will have the game on.

  50. DutchGooner10 says:

  51. rico says:

I don’t leave the house, claims Bendtner as on-loan striker hints at Arsenal return

Nicklas Bendtner admits he rarely leaves the house as the on-loan Sunderland striker continues to adapt to life in the north east.

The Denmark international, who moved to Wearside on transfer deadline day, also hinted he’d be happy to stay at Arsenal when his season-long loan expires.

Bendtner has discovered his goalscoring touch in recent weeks, bagging four goals in his last five Barclays Premier League appearances.

And the 24-year-old admits he’s put his lifestyle on the backburner as he begins to impress under Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill.

‘I spend all of my time in the house, I don’t really go outside the door. When I do it’s mainly to see my son living in London,’ said Bendtner.

‘It wasn’t the same in London, it’s a total culture change. All my friends are back there as well.

‘The difference is massive, of course. I don’t think I’ve ever lived so far from London. I had a loan with Birmingham but it was only two hours from London, so I could easily just drive there all the time.

‘I have still enjoyed my time at the club (Sunderland), that’s the main thing – that the football is decent. Of course the lifestyle is important but I knew there would be a change when I moved.

‘I like to be able to do things all the time so it’s a big change for me there.’

Bendtner’s £80,000-a-week wages put him way beyond anything that Sunderland and O’Neill can afford after his loan spell.

But the striker hopes to have his future sorted shortly after this summer’s European Championships.

‘I haven’t given it much thought,’ said Bendtner of staying on Wearside.

‘I really like the club and the manager has done really well since he came in here but I haven’t given it any thought yet.

‘I still have two years left with Arsenal, it isn’t just up to me. Ideally it would only be in my hands but I’m just waiting to see in the summer. We’ve got the Euros, then in the summer after the Euros we will see where we are.’

  52. Micko says:

Stan, if your sweating your working too hard, relax and take it easy.

I hope we don’t see Jack back for the rest of this season now, what’s the point for maybe 1 or 2 games, rather he got himself fully fit over the summer in time for the new campaign.

Scott, coin throwing is a nasty business, i bet there’s a few on here who have had to run the gauntlett a few times at away games down the years.

  53. allezkev says:

    Stan my man.
    We’re up the hospital now.
Nothing serious. Just having a couple of things done before a knee operation. She says Hi…
Devil has been lost without you.
    Pleased your back.
    Just be good……ok… 😀

  54. Scott From Oz says:

Thanks Rico,I shall relax and enjoy.
Dutch, not sure what the hell that meant, but it was bloody impressive lol.
Off to bed guys…..hopefully I can drop in and say hello over the weekend.
If not,go you Gunners, and a happy Easter to all.

  55. goonster says:

This mvilla crap is begining to stick in my craw, I don’t want him if coquelin’s gonna go out on loan. Better still flog song and let mvilla battle it out with the coqpong combo! And hey I don’t rate song, never had, never will.

  56. rico says:

If Song doesn’t sign a new contract, he could well be offski Stan, maybe that’s why M’Vila is a possibility….

  57. goonster says:

Good riddiance… I ve never really rated that shit head. Can’t really understand the hype. Song is shit! Diaby on the other hand is class! Hahahaha that’s sure gonna ruffle some feathers, especially rico’s and alan’s.

  58. allezkev says:

There ya go Stan. Sitting on the fence as usual. 🙂
I’ll see ya all in a spell.
    Chill out Stano… 😀

  59. DutchGooner10 says:

Stan just tickling your grey matter. You always make me laugh ‘preaching’ your strong beliefs. You always post to a large audience. Not really in a biblical prudence I might add.

So you got any ‘kind’ Easter words for the first cackleberry??

Later Scott happy camper. See you on matchday, I hope.

  60. goonster says:

Sure can mama bear. He glides around the pitch like kaka in his prime. Abou diaby arsenal’s veryu own kaka!

  63. kc says:

    morning all,
i don’t rate Song too…….but why sud we keep dismantling our teams….seems the team had gelled and they are enjoying playing for themselves….but if Song tink that he is bigger than Arsenal….flog him to Citeh…..m’villa,coquelin,frim will do d job…..if i have the chance….i will shoot coin to Nasri face,,,,i had never hate anyone as i do to dat ingrate cnut

  67. goonster says:

  68. W.A.T.H says:

  70. goonster says:

  71. W.A.T.H says:

I reckon Podo will go join your mate Mata Stanley… 😉 So best not get to excited just yet…!

  72. W.A.T.H says:

Rico you should know by now that until anyone is in the shirt he ain’t signed……! I take no notice of any of the media drivel here or in europe until I see a player unveiled in an Arsenal shirt at a press conference i believe nothing…! years n years of let downs has taught me to take it all with a pinch of salt until it’s proved to be 100% real..!

  73. rico says:

I agree that we shouldn’t be fooled by all the media stuff but something seems quite different about Podolski…

but, until he’s in his shirt…….. still think we could gte better than him though 😉

  74. goonster says:

Tell me about it wath. Ricky alvarez and mata taught me good lessons. I won’t be getting my hopes up anytime soon.

  75. goonster says:

Get better than him mama bear! Who? Park, chamack? Please podo is class he’s probably better than most forwards we ve been linked with over the years and that says much. And don’t forget am dutch, we know our football*winks*

I want the spine strengthened and the dead wood and the dross gone that in itself will free up hundreds of thousands a week in wages and just make us better off without having those hangers on draining our resources.

  77. rico says:

I think we all want that to happen Wath, we could get rid of an awful lot and still not weakend our squad…

Only until the summer, he’s gone then goonster, contracts up….

  78. goonster says:

No way not ba! I don’t want anymore africans on my team. We ve got enough already. Besides they ve got afcon again next year!

  79. W.A.T.H says:

Jussi, Vertonghen, M’Vila and Podolski for me would be a mega summers biz……….!

Can you see it happening though…. Not a chance…! lol

  80. W.A.T.H says:

I gathered that from earlier Adam…. I didn’t wanna say to much in case you could not control your excitement.

  81. stevepalmer1 says:

    Afternoon Gooners,
Clint Dempsey being American may be a good addition yanks love burgers and hot dogs inject a bit of protien in the Arsenal diet and we may reduce some of our injuries the smell of the onions and the mustard and ketchup we would have a job getting Clint away from the burger van in front of the stadium Oh no its making me hungry 🙂

  82. W.A.T.H says:

    Ello BossLady………..

Burgers from the van by the east lover corner of Avenell n Ellwood rds were the best SP…..!

  83. Merlin96 says:

For a TEAM that prides itself on its passing excellency, we have got 1st teamer that cna’t passed accurately:

1 – Song has a penchance to pass to our opponents in the dangerous position exposing the DEFENCE to dangerous and swift counter-attacks that invariably resulted in a yellow card to Song or our CB resolving in dragging down the opponent…or them scoring a goal from a misplaced pass by Song….

2 – Ramsey still not devleoping an understanding and misplaces passes regularly in the last thrid.

3 – Arshavin as well, misplaced passes galore.

4 – Our defenders attempting to play the ball out of defence..and then misplaced a pass straight away to our opponent.

ANd that will be what our opponents fighting against relegation in WOlves, Wigan, Bolton and WBA…and mid-table team like Norwich will continue to pressurise Arsenal to generate all those misplaced passes so that they can swiftly counter-attack Arsenal BAck-4 with a high chance of scoring like Swansea, FUlham and QPR.

    Abu DHabi CIty? Chelski?
They should realise by now that you can’t sit-back against Arsenal as Swansea, FUlham and QPR had shown that you have a better chance to beat Arsenal by incessant attacks to pressurise Arsenal “weak centre” into panicky clearances and misplaced passes, allowing ’em to coutner-attack swiftly with Back-4 pulled out-of-shape.

CUt-off all those silly mistakes and wayliad passes out of defence, SOng 100% focussed on the gang as DCM sitting deep to protect Back-4, Rosicky as ACM and playing to form, with Walcott-Van Persie continue to develop their telepathic udnerstanding…..then we cna beat ABu DHabi CIty.

But we still haven’t solve our vulnerable left-flank isn’t it?
    Gibbs or Santos?
    Gervinho or Yossi or Ox-C?

May all the Football Gods help Arsenal FC if Wenger decided to spring a surprise by deploying Walcott – Van Persie – DIaby as our Attacking Trio!
That is, decreeing Diaby-Gibbs is a better defensive option at left-flank to stop David SIlva (or Nasri).

You know how our ex-Arsenal players love to return to Emirates in their debut season (against Arsenal) and tend to play out of their skins to prove a point.

Like Bentley and Adebayor, it wouldn’t surprise moi that Nasri and Clichy will play..with Nasri scoring at least a goal..plus CLichy having the game of his life reducing Walcott to just a brainless blind alley runner!

  84. rico says:

Hi Wath & Steve – thanks re the egg, been talking to them, i’ve been wacking them with a 3 iron as DG suggested 😉

  85. stevepalmer1 says:

Good points there Merlin, i had noticed the way laid passes as well, when we race clearences we nearly always clear centrally centre backs and full backs alike why because our wingers are never on the wing thats why. when you watch Utd they will always have a player on the touchline who goes forward and the others chase forward, we on the other hand kick it anywhere and usually to the oposition only to come under pressure again. Goalkeeper punches are also central along with the parrys and they normally go to their forwards clearing a ball is made easier when there are others raceing into positions to recieve the ball we are usually standing about watching not a good combination.

  86. stevepalmer1 says:

The game against Milan the second one, was won because we chased the ball down in numbers and played a slick passing game very tireing but when we did tire our goals dried up one more and who knows…

  87. W.A.T.H says:

Me a veggie SP……………. hmmmmmmmmm yeh well I like em with my steak if that helps… 😉

  88. Scott From Oz says:

Credit where credits due…..Merlin,that was a fantastic post.
I can’t believe our guys keep looking for the miracle pass when there’s a simple one on offer.
None of these guys are Cesc,so stop to trying to be Cesc….be yourself and play to your strengths.
    Morning all.
I knew an early night would lead to this.
    4.45,am,and all is well……except I’m awake already!!!

  89. W.A.T.H says:

Even Cesc over did it at times as well… the game is a simple game made difficult by players…!

Why try play the ball through the eye of a needle when there is a simple easy pass on…? we’ve done it for years it’s nothing new and again for me all about discipline and thinking…! Something to many of our players seem to overlook…!

  90. Scott From Oz says:

Wath,it costs us more, and creates more problems than its worth.
I was really disappointed with Song last week,as every time he got the ball,he tried the impossible.
I re Mon he gave the ball away 7-8 times.

  91. W.A.T.H says:

He was a nightmare last week, always trying the 1 in a million pass and the flicks and didn’t do anything simple or easy…! All the chat has gone to his head…! they were loving that stupid chip over the top they read it everytime…! when he has space and time and space behind the defense it works but the way they played we needed to get wide and behind them and we didn’t do that at all…!

  92. Scott From Oz says:

A couple of his passes gave been world class, but its a shock tactic.
Last week,it became the norm, and the defence just knew it was coming.

  93. W.A.T.H says:

Thats spot on Scott, on the odd occasion its a great surprise ball to play NOT everytime you kick the bloody thing…!

  94. Scott From Oz says:

    About half an hour.
Need ice for the esky, then off and gone.
Again guys, not sure if I will be in phone coverage area, nor whether I can catch the game.
I’ll certainly do my best, but if not,I hope all of you and your families have a lovely easter.
    Enjoy.

  95. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers Scott, have a good easter mate you and the family drive safe and enjoy. See you when you get back.

  96. Scott From Oz says:

    Fat little French shit.
    Afternoon all.
    Tent is pitched…..tick.
    Tarp is up….tick.
    Arsenal away shirt on…..
    Beer in hand…..
I am literally a five minute drive from around 100 wineries…….
Not a bad joint this Australia.

  97. Scott From Oz says:

Rico,Fosters is an insult to beer.
I can say this with total certainty, nobody here drinks it……nobody.
    It’s shit.
I actually drink Belgian or English Ales.
    Fullers or Chimay,if you please.
