Wenger to lose out on Vertonghen? Jacks out for the season & We naffed that up didn't we…

Alan Pardew popped over to Holland to check out Vertonghen at the weekend, speculation is now rife that he heads the queue for hiring the services of the Belgian.

However, fellow Ajax defender, Toby Alderweireld is also on the Newcastle managers wish list for the summer, lets hope it was him he was watching, knowing full well that Vertonghen has already agreed a move to his favoured club.

Other news is about Jack and it will be no surprise to read he’s been ruled out for the season and for the Euros.

Onto last night’s debacle:

Just seven minutes on the clock and Wigan turned our attack into their opening goal.

As they broke from our corner, Arteta pulled up with an injury, Yossi stood still trying to attract the attention of the manager and in the mean-time Gomez bombed forward down the left, he found Di Santo in acres of space in the middle and that was 1-0!

Within a minute it was 2-0.

Moses cut in from the left, played the ball James McCarthy at the near post, this was followed by a bit of ping-pong off a couple of players, Gomez scrambled it home.

Arteta went off and Ramsey came on!

The question everyone was no doubt asking, ‘can we come back like we did against the Totts’?

Yossi had a goal bound header tipped over by Al-Habsi and soon after Thomas Vermaelen headed home to make it 2-1 after a good piece of play and cross by Rosicky.

Van Persie had a shot saved and Johan Djourou fired a shot from distance just wide. Rosicky too had a chance on goal but his effort went high over the bar.

Wigan were still dangerous on the break, the outstanding player for them was Moses.

Wigan had a good chance to go 3-1 up just before the break when Emmerson Boyce robbed Ramsey of the ball, thankfully Gomez shot went over the bar!

Half-time came and went!

We started the second half a lot better than we did the first and had most of the possession but Wigan were still a serious threat on the counter attack

Moses held strong against Sagna and got passed his man, his shot produce a good save from Szczesny, soon after he had another chance but his shot was easily saved.

The game carried on in the same fashion really, we had most of the ball, Wigan were playing counter attacking football but neither side found the net again.

Even the introduction of Chamberlain and Gervinho made little difference.

Blip?

No, last night should not have turned out in the way it did, we had a chance to go eight points clear of 4th place but we blew it.

Wenger is moaning about Wigan time-wasting, well it is pretty desperate when you are clinging on to a couple of minutes of added time just to grab an equaliser and why did he have to sulk off and not shake the hand of Martinez?

We had naffed up big time, from the moment Arteta went off we lost our shape, we had no width and no dictator in midfield, we are going to miss him, big time!

Quite a number of players were below par last night but, let’s not take anything away from Wigan.

They wanted the three points, they needed the three points and they were prepared to do more to get them.

Next up is Chelsea at home, that is now a match we cannot afford to lose, in fact we cannot afford to lose another until the season ends, not if we want to secure Champions League football.

Ive thought we already sign Vertonghen the ajax manger spoken on ESPN last week??

Back to the game you guys aint going to agree but Ramsey is rubbish, he seems to thinks he is messi and over plays with the ball.. Djourou is as good as lampost in defence.. And walcott plays like a lost child in a supermarket searching for his parents…

    WHAT A JOKE!!

  2. rico says:

    morning all,

matty, until he’s signed for sure, anything can happen….

thank goodness kos is back for the chavs….

  3. UpTheArse says:

Morning Rico. Arteta out for the season?
‘ramsey has no confidence, theo has no plan b, and nor does wengerโ€ฆ..’ , I agree with this totally!!

  4. Lee says:

morning all….very disappointing performance! when our first choice 11 are fit we are a force to be reckoned with, however we rarely have that luxury! Arteta going off was a big loss, no Koz another big loss, walcott/song/jd were woeful , ramsey has zero confidence trying back heels etc, just play the simple fucking game!! The only real game changer we had last night was the ox…….the squad is way too thin, we need some experienced players asap!!!

  5. UpTheArse says:

Didn’t manage to see any of the game until after we had scored and at that point it looked shambollic. Throwing players forward leaving massive gaps in behind which although they didn’t score Wigan exploited time and time again. Our set up looked like it did in the first half of the season.

  6. rico says:

    Morning Uta,

i think so, looked nasty the way he pulled up suddenly

hoping though he just twisted it badly…

We need Gibbs back for the Chavs too, Santos is far too gung ho…

  7. rockyrocastle07 says:

Matty… I agree with you about Ramsey. Deep down, I know Scott is right when he says give him tiome and he’ll ge good, but at the moment, I just really can’t see it.

  8. Konrad da african says:

There’s no need 2 worry abt da future of da ajax strongman,4 god’s sake he cant opt 4 da magpies with arsenal in waiting, abt yesto’s performance,my god, walcot cant beat any defender with da ball,4 sure he’s bench material,da ox shd hv replaced him earlier on,4 ramsey god 4 bid, needs 2 b a bench warmer in wigan

  9. richard morgan says:

come on guys Arteta should have been pulled before had been before the corner and was clearly struggling when back on pitch Wenger should have taken him straight off. But lets take nothing away wigan got what they deserved and only two dodgy decisions robbed them of anything at chelsea which meant they would have claimed ours utd and chelsea scalps in the last three games. As for ramsey unless the rest of the team plays well he doesn’t he does not have speed of mind to spot things as they are happening. As for walcott it is hard to expect a player who has speed to do any damage when his back is turned away from goal and balls not played where he can run onto them. let us not forget al habsi made two fantastic saves from yossi benayoun and a save from van persie.

  10. BruceTongaBull says:

@Rico,mate u got it right. True Wenger sometimes is Enept,Naive,Arrogant and over confident fo nothing in players like Rubbish Rambo Ramsey

  11. madgunner says:

Blaming anything on Ramsey for last nights capitulation is not only wrong but smacks of desperation. The people that let us down last night where our stalwarts, Sagna Song the pole in the goal and few others(cant be arsed to mention TW). When Ramsay came on the game was already lost. If that had been SAF he would have sent out a team in the second half at home spitting brimstone. What we got was shoddy self excusing bunch that lacked the spine and guile to get anything out of the game. Wigan wanted it, we wanted to go home and cuddle up to mammy with a hot cup of coco. This has been the pattern for the last 7 years and why anyone thinks it is going to change with the current manager is beyond me. I still believe though that we will be in the top 4, the players don’t want to loose out on the next mercenary pay packet (aka TW) and need to be in the CL shop window to get lucrative offers from other clubs so they can move away from Wengers feeder academy.

  12. BruceTongaBull says:

U guys. Hu shud Replace Arteta in th starting line up against Chelskie A.. Diaby,B..Conqueline,C..Ramsey,D..Ox

  13. rico says:

    Uta,

i think Arteta getting injured totally upset everything, Yossi was static when wigan broke and that left us two men short.

We didn’t regroup properly, RvP skipped his captain duties and the second was in before they knew it…

The team huffed and puffed but so so many were too casual and appeared not to be up for the game it was shocking…

Gervinho is slowly becoming another Chamakh…..

  14. Mattyboy says:

sorry Rico at work, you know how it is lol..

The Ox when we come on how created was we in the middle? the guy is a gem… Thing about arsenal is were not consistant enough and nod of, why was yossi turnt during the middle of play and signaling to the bench when they had possession for arteta, thats a rookie error right there! Rambo gave the ball away constantly, and JD is just another thing. A shambles last night.

  15. rico says:

    madgunner,

i don’t think anyone is soley blaming Ramsey, it wasn’t just him who had a bad night…

they didn’t turn up ready to fight for three points and were outplayed, outdone, out thought by Wigan….

It turns out that it was a difficult game, a very difficult one…

  16. devilgunner says:

    Good morning Guys and Chicks.

Hope you are all ok and in a better shape than yesterday after the game.

QPR and Wigan. Two games which had we won them would have seen an umsourmountable 11 point lead between us and the swampies. With four games left that would have meant that AW could have rested the players and prepared some of the young ones for next season. For example he could have rested Kozzer and TommyV and put on Miguel. He could have rested Song and put on Coquelin. He could have rested Sagna and put on Jenkinson. But no. We contrive to loose those games. This season alone we lost 25 points through carelessness and failing to turn up.

Onto yesterday. I feel that whenever we fail to get behind their defence from the wings we do suffer. Yesterday for example Theo did not turn behind the defenders and even his crosses were woeful. There was no supporting triangles from midfield and where usually Theo goes inside the channel taking the lateral defender with him while Sagna goes out, yesterday he was keeping out and thus restraining Sagna or more worse he and Sagna where occupying a small space instead of creating space.

There was no penetration on the left and This is where the OX should have started. He could have stayed outside on the left and interchanged with Theo. But we had Benny on the left who although he worked his socks off and strived for the team, sadly he had to do the work for others and thus kept cutting inside.

Ramsey is a conundrum. For all those who criticize him, I ask you, go and do his job. Yesterday we had Rosicky in the advanced midfielder position. So someone had to hold back. Songinho did not want to do his job and this meant that Ramsey had to drop back. And that is not his job. But he did sit in front of the defence. So at least it was covered. And if no one noticed it, Wigan only attacked the flanks when Sagna or Santos went up. They never went through the middle in the second half alone.

By half time I realised two things. First we were playing against Al Habsi who seems to charm his goal before each half. Secondly we kept trying to go through the middle by lobbing, chipping, scooping, hurling, throwing, yanking, wanking the ball over the defence to Robin. When we start doing that we simply do not win.

Last piece on yesterday. Yes we lost. But at least we lost to a team which plays football unlike QPR who dont. And we tried to play. Against QPR we did not play. I prefer to loose like yesterday than loose in the way we lost against QPR.

  17. rico says:

    ๐Ÿ˜† Matty, sneaking your moments…

agree re yossi switching off, and when he did get his butt in gear to chase back, he was so close to stopping the goal, had he not been static, he’d have got back with ease.

But why such a gaping hole in the middle for them? Where was our defence?

We should have played Chamberlain down the left, not Gerv…

  18. scott says:

We simply goofed it, dont know why, we simply manage to do it against bottom teams, games which should be a walk in the park. yesterday we lost the game not because we were down to 10 men after arteta took a knock, it was simply bcoz we were playing with 2 players ie rosicky and yossi, rest of the guys were totally missing.

  19. devilgunner says:

Hiya Rico. Good match report. how are you Lady?? Hopefully in a finer fettle than yesterday. As time goes by you will be feeling better. Hope you are cared for around the clock.

  20. rico says:

    Welcome Richard and Bruce,

I either Coquelin or Diaby fit yet?

Personally i’d go with Coquelin if he is….

  21. Mattyboy says:

If this aint devolution i dont know what is LOL..

I dont know whats wrong with us, and it really gets to me! for me its all gone down hill since David Dein left… are signing accept a certain few havnt be great… Gervinho the headless chicken is rubbish 10m for him.. I hope and prey wenger get rid of a few players and come in with a new batch.. if you look at the like of man u, chelsea even newcastle now they all got players on the bench who can make a difference.. you look at our and the fan are like oh no!! lol ox is the only player at this presents on the sub bench who we can get a hype from!!

  22. rico says:

    Morning devil,

what i didn’t like seeing was Ramsey bottling a challenge…. no picking on him, as i said earlier, it’s easier to name those who were good on the night than those who weren’t…

And, the biggest culprit is the man on ยฃ7 million a year, one day he says that in the future Ox will play central but he’s not ready yet, the next he thros him into the middle, expecting him to work miracles…

He is a winger right now…

Why didn’t we simply go 442 when we needed goals ??

  23. rico says:

I’m getting there thanks devil ๐Ÿ˜‰ the report is pants, i gave it about as much effort as the team did last night, just can’t believe how we manage to naff things up, now the chavs and swampies have a game in hand which if the win, the gap closes to just 2 points….

  24. madgunner says:

FFS we need a true DM. Song will never be that now as the senile old kvunt has him convinced that he is the next Cesc. Arteta’s injury had nothing to do with us conceding goals. It was simply shoddy play from players that should have played much better. Ramsey will come good long before TW will and calling for Ox to come into a team that lacks fight and guile will surly destroy him.

  25. madgunner says:

“Why didnโ€™t we simply go 442 when we needed goals ??”

Rico it’s because we don’t have a second striker to play with RvP upfront. TW can’t, if he cant perform his duties on the wing, get past players then he cant do it either upfront.

  26. steve. says:

I’m an Arsenal supporter for many years now,but i would like to say,
“WELL DONE WIGAN” better in every department, most of all
managerial department,Wigan don’t have a big wage bill, just big hearted players, and a manager that knows what he’s doing,
well lads,it looks like seven years without silverware, and i carn’t see
anything to excite me for next season,”UNLESS WENGER RESIGN’S” and he’s on far to much money to do that, anyway up the
    Gunners and keep hoping.

  27. rico says:

    madgunner –

again, it’s all a matter of opinion, mine is that i think theo should be given a chance in the centre, that is his natural position, we all slate him as a winger but he’s asked to play out of position.

Before i totally write him off, i’d love to see him be given the chance to play central.

wenger did it to Nik, AA and a few others and this season Ramsey is falling foul of being played out of position too, then the fans batter him…

we wonder why his confidence is low?

  28. Mattyboy says:

yea i agree Rico, theo needs to go up front he gets push of the ball to easy on the wing!! i hope Martin Keown becomes wengo right hand man in the summer, pat rice doesnt seem to be advicing so great!

  29. rockyrocastle07 says:

only caught the last 15 mins of the match, so can only comment on that…. From what I saw, we were shit. Was Song moved back to CB when Ox came on? If so, why was he, possibly the slowest player in the world, trying to run the ball out of defence, through the midfield and trying to take on a Wigan wall of 3 players before the inevitable happened and he lost the ball. Ramsey looked gash. Again. (not blaming the defeat on him though). Gerv not good enough. Theo looked lively from what I saw but other comments on here today and last night leads me to believe he was garbage for the rest of the match. RvP looked knackered. And the whole spat with Caldwell was a bit embarrassing. I thouht he’d grown up. I like to think he went into the Wigan dressing room after the game and apologised. But I doubt it. As for Santos…. Not for me I’m afaid. I’ve said in numerous times on here before. An emergency left winger… Yes. Left back? Absolutely not.

Madgunner – I’d happily have stuck Ox behind RvP. Or maybe the ineffective Gervinho my be better placed up alongside him. I know he can’t shoot for shit, but it’d be worth a try when we have nothing to lose.

  30. rockyrocastle07 says:

Pat Rice is useless. Just sits back, looking lost, collecting his paycheck every month. Bet he can’t believe his luck he gets paid for doing jack.

  31. rico says:

Lucky you rocky, you didn’t suffer the 90 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Santos was quite good going forward but his defending is woeful, i missed a bit in the report about theo, i’m sure he was through on goal but got bundled over, the commentators called it as a foul too…

Gerv is another who is clearly not a winger, why do we keep doing this?

Ryo, fans can’t wait for him to play next season, isn’t that all a bit too much pressure on him at his age?

Maybe we do need to sign a winger in the summer, but i bet we don’t….

Song did get pushed back when JD went off for Ox, not that i think Song realised, he was still trying to be messi….

  32. devilgunner says:

MAdgunner….I am inclined to disagree a bit with you. Yes we can go 4-4-2. Yes Theo can play up front. The thing is that once Theo and RVP go up front together our midfield looses its compactness since we had also lost Arteta. Song preferes to be Songinho and thus no one would have sat back. Playing 442 will forbid us to have a bit of speed on the flanks. If we had to play 4-4-2 we have to go with Gibbs as left back with Santos on the left of midfield. Ramsey goes on the right with Sagna on as right back. However we had lost Arteta and since Rosicky is not a box to box player we could not have covered the defence. TBH no one did that yesterday and Aaron had to do it to the best he can.

However other things you say I agree.

Gentlemen and Ladies……Remember that even though some of our players may not have turned up, Wigan won the game. We did not loose it. They played and we lost to a better team. It is not a defeat that rankles…..like the QPR one where we were crap.

  33. madgunner says:

As for keown for a assistant what will that change? Wenger knows best and Keown’s advice will simply be discarded. Get a new manager in thats the only way to change things around and Rico why the hell give TW a chance upfront if he cant perform the simplest of dutys on the wing? makes much more sense to go out and buy a new striker that IS a striker. but Wenger wont do that it would mean that he will have to change tactics once in a while and he finds that very difficult. And sticking Ox up with RvP would have accomplished nothing. I am at pains to point out that we CANT start putting our hopes on a raw teenager that when he comes on he often seems lost and unsure what to do, it would surly destroy his confidence as it has Ramsey’s. No one in the team seems to take him in hand and tell him what to do, it is against the rules that the control freak has put in place.

  34. rockyrocastle07 says:

It was a foul Rico. That’s basically when I started watching the match…

I think, from what I’ve seen of Ryo, he’s worth a go. He certainly isn’t fazed by the challenge. Regularly gets star man awards in the paper (I know their rating are hit and miss, but it must count for something). He’s quick, direct, and will have a shot if necessary. Looking at a few Bolton forums, they rate him… although apparently the defensive side of his game needs some work. But he’s only about 12 years old, so that’ll come!! Although knowing Arsenal’s defensive prowess (or lack of it) maybe he’ll never get that!

  35. rico says:

rocky – i can never tell whether it’s actually Rice sat next to Wenger or a carboard cut-out sometimes….

  36. rico says:

    devil,

we shouldn’t have lost though, a manger with wengers experience should have out thought Martinez but he didn’t – he should have changed things around when it wasn’t working but yet again he didn’t….

  37. Micko says:

Morning all, let the stress begin.

If we’re not cafeful we’re gonna make it very easy for RVP to walk away at the end of the season, a bit nervous about the chelsea game at the weekend now, I’m with Wenger i blame the defeat on Martinez and his team tactics, the answer is much closer to home, complete joke.

  38. rico says:

    rocky on Ryo

‘But heโ€™s only about 12 years old, so thatโ€™ll come!! Although knowing Arsenalโ€™s defensive prowess (or lack of it) maybe heโ€™ll never get that’!

    ๐Ÿ˜†

  39. rockyrocastle07 says:

Sorry Madgunner, I completely disagree with you about Ox looking lost and unsure. He looks at times like the most confident player on the pitch. He wants to play. He wants the ball, and he tries his arse off all the time.

I agree that Theo up front is not an option. But Ox playing in an advanced midfield player… That I’d like to see.

  40. Lee says:

yep, got on the train this morning sat opposite the same geezer as every morning, I feel like doing a Reggie Perrin……..so over it!

  41. madgunner says:

devilgunner exsplain this to me, what does it matter where TW comes into his chances from? Does it matter if he gets it playing on the wing or upfront? He has lost numerous chances on one to one because he panics and that has fuck all to do with him playing on the wing, as someone coined it he to slow to think and like a rabbit in the headlights. Putting him upfront would be another player playing in a position where he simply is not good enough to play in. Get a proven striker in the summer and then we have an option to play a true 442, with players that are made for those positions….that is if we manage to hold onto RvP.

  42. Scott From Oz says:

I wont get drawn into another debate over Ramsey, but he did bugger all wrong last night.
I simply find it astounding people, well some people, could actually single him out in an ocean if mediocrity.
On to a creative midfielder…….let’s sink or swim, but at least go down fighting.
Ox in the hole…..it should be our new chant.
    He’s had a decent grounding,he’s fit and healthy,let’s give him a crack.
Seriously,If it exposes him and he’s called up to the England squad, who gives a crap?
It’s not like he’d be heading off after a torturous season,is it?
Two things truly disappointed me last night.
RVP failing to shake hands with an opponent…….I don’t know what happened, and I hope there’s a bloody good reason for it,but if not,he needs a massive kick up the arae.
Secondly,I’m amazed our guys did not come out blowing smoke in the second half…..Arsene,not good enough mate.
Anyway,we ARE still five clear, the points on the board are important.
The problem is the buffer zone is diminished……..no margin for error now.

  43. rockyrocastle07 says:

Morning Micko. Wenger is embarrassing sometimes. I wish he’d stop storming off down the tunnel without showing any respect to the other manager/team. I’m not asking him to cuddle Martinez, or start snogging him, but show a bit of respect man. And stop making shit up about why we got beat

  44. Lee says:

Silent Stan was watching last night’s pathetic performance!
wtf was AW’s half-time team talk?or lack of it?

  45. rico says:

madgunner – until he plays central, no-one knows for sure whether it would work or not, i just hope he gets a chance there….

  46. Micko- aka- Shirley says:

Rico, I never made that ‘shirley’ comment, it was doctored, just wanna make that clear for the record and put it to bed.

  47. rico says:

not good behaviour from our captain was it, nor the manager at the end, sulky and petulant….

……you forgot one thing. Stubborness often clouds the best judgement.

  49. Lee says:

27c one day, pissing down the next followed by gale force winds…….sunblock, sowester and kite to hand!!

  50. rockyrocastle07 says:

Morning Scott. Agree… Ox there is well worth a shot. He can tear teams a new arsehole I reckon.

I know you love Rambo. I wasn’t singling him out… I just think he needs to up his game in general. But… and I know it’s a massive but… He needs to play in his correct position. On the wing (and especially on the wing on his wrong foot) is useless for him. Especially as he (along with the vast majority of te team) is unable to put consistently good crosses in. In fact, doesn’t even have to be consistent… 3 decent crosses a game will do me!

  51. Scott From Oz says:

I didn’t see Wenger, but thought RVP was disgraceful.
    I reiterate,he may have had reason,and a good one…..i truly hope so.
Wenger can’t blame time wasting….every club does it,and we had 80 odd minutes.

  52. rico says:

Very true devil and our boss has plenty of that, he needs a strong man beside him next season, a very strong man….

    Very mixed then lee ๐Ÿ˜‰

  53. Scott From Oz says:

Rocky, too many singled out Ramsey….you were by no means in my sights when I posted that.
Madgunner……watch the second half v Spuds, then tell yourself Theo can’t play through the middle.
He wasn’t exactly central, but was definitely inside.
For what its worth,I reckon its best half ever played in the shirt.

  54. rico says:

Maybe we were rubbish on purpose then, trying to convince SS to spend some money in June??

    Then again, maybe not…..

  55. rockyrocastle07 says:

Agree Scott. It all camd from nothing at all. No real push or anything. Didn’t look as though Caldwell said anything terrible. Just looked to be petulence and smacked of being a bad loser because he was marked out of the game by him.

  56. devilgunner says:

Listen mates. Players, especially young ones, need time to develop and play well. So ifs and buts and stops and starts are to be expected. And inconsistency is one of them. I remembers that when we had the team from 1997 to 2003 we were always criticizing this or that. We did not have the best TH15 when we signed him but he developed into the most fearsome striker in the world. Not all players develop and play well immediately. Some take time more than others. We can say that this is crap and that this is bollox. But we cannot say chuck him out now.

I would like to imagine some of you if you are chairmen of any club. Would you be different to PHW??? Of course you would be different. The thing is that you would be more like Abramovitch, Levy and Moratti of Inter. Sacking Managers at will and wink. A club is not like that. Yes I do suffer seeing us loose like that. But that is the club I support and like it or not I have to support the players that are there.

I know you have all suffered these last 7 years like me. But other clubs have been suffering far much longer. And if you want proof look no further than the 4th placed incumbents. They have been forever in our shadow for what now……one hundred years???? If we are crap, imagine them than.

  57. Scott From Oz says:

    Micko,that’s no excuse.
He represents our club,he leads it………he should be above that shit.
The guy is a club legend, but he lost a point or two with me.
Ok,that means nothing to anyone, but it does to me.

  58. Micko says:

Rico, top four is seen as a success to Stan and the board, it’s filtered down into the players through wenger, until this changes we’ll never push on, they’ll see it as another successful season unfortunately.

  59. Scott From Oz says:

Devil,I doubt there’d be too many more staunch Wenger supporters than me on HH,and I maintain sacking him would be just stupid, but he could’ve and should’ve done better last night.
    Our substitutes are too predictable.
Why not throw Ox in at half time…..just to change things up.
Why not go to 4-4-2…..go after them.
    Fortune favours the brave.

  60. Micko says:

Scott, he only human, he’s been carrying us all season, he has gervinho on one side and theo on the other, that’s enough to make anyone turn to the drink, he’s not getting the support or service he deserves, I don’t blame him for getting the ump.

  61. rockyrocastle07 says:

I know what you mean. There’s having the hump though, and then there’s acting like a cock. The weay he acted after the final whistle was unfortunately the latter. But when he see’s his manager storming away with a face like a cow’s bottom what do you expect?!

  62. W.A.T.H says:

As I said last night, RVP should of shook the blokes hand and taken out his frustrations out in the dressing room on his lackluster teammates..!

  63. Micko says:

Rocky, not sure how I can follow that ! It’s been festering for a little while now, there’s a lot of pressure on RVP’s shoulders and the cracks are starting to show, if he doesn’t deliver we struggle.

  64. W.A.T.H says:

A few more than just JD Rocky………….. Arteta, possible broken ankle…. the news just gets better and better…!

  65. rockyrocastle07 says:

Thanks micko!! I know what you mean. He’s looking more and more shattered every game. The poor sod can’t do it alone.

  66. Micko says:

Scott, Wenger refuses to shake hands 5 or 6 times a season, that’s more daming, rvp is hardly gonna get pulled up on it by his boss is he.
I bet the first thing you tell your kids to do after winning or losing a game is to shake hands with the oppo.

  67. devilgunner says:

Hiya W.A.T.H. How are you mate????

If Arteta has indeed broken an ankle than that would mean he would be back only after the pre season starts. Not good

  68. allezkev says:

    Is Coquelin fit yet?
I’d like to see him given a game against Chelski.
    Koscielny will be back.
Maybe Gibbs left back and Santos left mid.

  69. W.A.T.H says:

Am good thanx Dev, Will b bad news if Arteta has indeed broke his ankle…

Now we have that jinx AK on here after putting the mockers on our team last night..! I thought you’d of at least been on the bench last night AK

  70. W.A.T.H says:

They reckon Coq only starting full training later in the week AK… Can we risk his hammie so soon…? Def Gibbs at right back Ak and Santos an option for left mid but he goes wandering far to much and seems to lack the discipline to stay focused on his positional play…! We’ve made Sat a whole lot harder for ourselves thats for sure.

  71. allezkev says:

    True Rocky.
Didn’t those two beat Liverpool Mancs, & a few other top sides. ๐Ÿ™‚
Lets not ‘top’ ourselves just yet eh?
Keep a bit of balance Gooners.
4 games to go. A lot of twists & turns…

  72. devilgunner says:

Yes W.A.T.H. Just like Shitty. I was scared when they came fearing that shitty would put us in our place. But we played with them like a cat does with a mouse. The chavs will be a lot different than Wigan imo. If we win against the chavs than a place in the top four would be practically secure.

  73. Scott From Oz says:

Rocky, forget the two we lost to…..some decent sides we beat in the wins.
Micko, shaking hands is something that should just be done.
Fair enough on Wenger, point taken, but that is no excuse.
Games over, let’s get on with it.

  74. Micko says:

Kev, that could easily turn into 3 of out 10 come the weekend and we’re seriously be in the brown stuff, this ain’t the time for a wobble / annual break down, we’re walking a fine line.
If we’d won last night I think 3rd would have been ours, now i’m not so sure, your right we’re dooooooooomed.

  75. rockyrocastle07 says:

They did AK… But yet we still fail to beat teams at the bottom.

I get what you’re saying though… but I’m sure you were pretty pissed off watching it live!! It’s just frustrating that we always blow chances to pull further away from teams when the opportunity is on a plate for us.

  76. rockyrocastle07 says:

Not denying that Scott. Not at all. But why, when we beat these great teams, do we fall apart against the “lesser” sides? It’s just annoying…

  77. W.A.T.H says:

The bigger picture is thats 10 games yes ten games we’ve lost in the league this season….!. Not good enough simple as that….! Excuses and papering over the cracks doesn’t detract from the fact we’re still nowhere near good enough to be competing for trophies…!.

  78. Scott From Oz says:

We do need to remember that, apart from the Manchester clubs,EVERY side has been losing, and regularly,to sides they should beat.
Those two are dominant, and we need to get there.
We need more quality options on the bench.
Look at the two clubs above us,and who they can bring on during a game.
I still reckon our best 11 is as good as any,but the next half dozen are a bit off.

  79. Micko says:

Don’t knock trophies Scott, I’ve had some fantastic days out around europe and wembley over the years………….and some very bad one’s as well.

  80. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, I couldn’t give a rats arse about liverpoo mate…. throwing other teams into it makes no odds it’s what we do is all that matters to me… I want a team that can compete for trophies that doesn’t mean we will win them not do I expect us to win them but i do expect us to be able to compete and we ain’t good enough presently simple as that. When wenger and the board realise this and make the right signings to add to what is essentially the basis of a very good team then we will compete i reckon but we’re still way off having a good enough squad and having a great 11 isn’t what it’s about anymore as we all know

  81. rico says:

    Micko,

trouble is, top 4 isn’t a cert yet…. and if we carry on this way, newcastle, chavs or the swampies will make sure we don’t get it….

  82. Micko says:

Scott, that’s not to say you can’t take the pish out of the scousers at any given opportunity though, i’m all for that.

  83. Scott From Oz says:

Wath, you can ignore the fact we are better than Liverpool if you like, but they’ve targetted the cups.
    Is that we should do?
Unless you have more depth, you just cant go after everything….we tried that last season, and it ended in tears.
Should we miss top 4 and CL,we will struggle to attract top players, but be in a better position to win the League and FA cups.
That’s Liverpool right now……..who would want to sign with them for next year though?????
    What’s the answer……buggered If I know lol.

  84. Micko says:

Rico, that’s what I was just saying, what with chelsea and stoke up next we can’t afford to be going into the last game of the season against WBA away in 4th place needing a win, the players need a big kick up the jacksey.

  85. Scott From Oz says:

I hope we ARE going to WBA needing a win to finish 3rd.
Better than going there knowing its all over.
    Stay positive guys…..

  86. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, i aint ignoring we better than livepoo your completely missing the point !! They ain’t my argument one bit, competeing for trophies is…! I don’t care what livpoo win or don’t win nor the fact they spunked a 100million on shit players my comcern is with Arsenal and as stated we ain’t good enough to compete for trophies.

  87. devilgunner says:

We have lost ten games yes, So lets have a look at the games we lost………………

    vs Liverpool (h)….0-2
    vs Manchester Utd (a) 2-8
    vs Blackburn (a)………..3-4
    vs the Scum (A)………..1-2
    vs Shitty (a)……………..0-1
    vs Fulham (a)…………..1-2
    vs Swansea (a)…………2-3
    vs Manure (h)…………..1-2
    vs QPR (A)……………….1-2
    vs WIgan (h)……………..1-2

    drawn…………

    Newcastle (h) 0-0
    Fulham (h)……1-1
    Wolves (h)…….1-1
    Bolton (a)…….0-0

Of these losses/draws I can accept vs Liverpool (h), Manure (h/a), Shitty (a). However the others have all been a lack of concentration and failing to turn up or being to arrogant and ladckadaisiacal.

Imo we lost the following points through carelessness……..

    vs Newcastle (h) 2pts
    vs The Scum (a).1pt
    vs Fulham (h) 2pts
    vs Swansea (A) 3pts
    vs QPR (a) 3pts
    vs Wolves (h) 2pts
    vs Bolton (a) 2pts
    vs Wigan (h) 3pts.

That makes a total of 18 points according to my calculation. The difference between challenging and being 3rd or 4th best is all in the mind and arrogance………….not in the personnell.

  88. W.A.T.H says:

As I said the other day Dev, our mentality is piss poor…! Should we be saying that we should be finishing 3rd or 4th though when with some intent in the transfer market we could be competing for top stop… that should be the aim…! We don’t have a squad that can compete for trophies as we’re not good enough at the moment. Thats not being negative thats being honest and objective..! being constructive is simply making sure we buy properly in the summer and we could very well be highly competative next season but will the board do whats right..? thats the $64million question.

  89. devilgunner says:

As I said earlier Rico…….had we won against Wigan and QPR we would have had 3rd secured and the last four games would have been for experimenting with Yennaris, Miguel, Jenkinson, Coquelin, and the rest of the youngsters. Yes I would have even played Chamack and Park to give them four games and see what they have to offer, besides resting the players.

As it is we need to win them now.

  90. devilgunner says:

I agree Scozzy ๐Ÿ˜‰ There is no guarantee that the others would win them do they

I am off now mates. Laters on today.

  91. W.A.T.H says:

    Night Scott..!

Rico, amazes me how the media are all falling over themselves about no Wilshere for England blah blah blah but no one says what a miss it’s been for us not having him all season…. blow england what about Arsenal missing him….!

  92. rico says:

Good article Wath, totally agree re the time played…

gervinho at the moment is an expensive squad player who makes very little difference when he comes on…

  93. W.A.T.H says:

Gervinho has been playing like this for months… little boy lost in headlamps… doesnt seem to wanna take on the defender doesnt run at people anymore confidence also totally shot but why… are our players so fragile…? pathetic really, who was geeing them up in the 2nd half last night… No one…! Tv was galavanting forward as he could see we were struggling but then we didnt have the discipline to even cover him or the sense to cover him half the time…!

I still say sell Song get M’Vila, Get Vertonghen in sell JD, Squilli and Bartley… Miguel 5th choice..!

I’d seriously look at getting rid of Walcott for a decent right winger and I know your gonna kill me but when it really matters he goes missing…! we seriously lack width to break teams down…! Will the board and wenger do whats needed…………???? There lies the problem.

  94. rico says:

Daunting thought, think i’ll give the euros a miss…. mind you, after the ‘clear up’ stories, i think many will…

  95. rico says:

Wath, the last part is spot on, AW/the board will not do any of that….

Theo and RvP, well their future is in their own hands, they may both be gone anyway…

  96. W.A.T.H says:

Maybe their futures are not in their own hands Rico, maybe the board want one or both gone and will accept offers in the summer we don’t know…!?!?!? Theo is still young I accept but his thinking is just so not there…! he doesn’t look to want the ball he doesnt look to hit the spaces for the pass he is sooooooooooooo frustrating as we know inside him there is the possibility of a really good player who could really hurt teams yet he just doesnt do it anywhere near enough.

  97. W.A.T.H says:

I think Miguel young enough to realise he needs games and more experience and prob needs a year away on loan…! The boy has time on his side…! When he see’s squilli go and JD sold he’ll know he’s next in line to play…!

  98. rico says:

Robin will be the one sold, he’s gone through the right stages, one season with the emotional armband, then off ๐Ÿ˜‰

  99. W.A.T.H says:

Depends where he goes and who he plays for and if he gets a kick up the arse when he don’t perform…!

  100. W.A.T.H says:

I honestly think RVP would only leave IF we don’t sign the right players…! If we lack ambition in the transfer market he’ll say whats the point in wasting another season if the club are happy with mediocrity…? Who could blame him if that happens..? Unlike most years we need to stop fucking about with buys from lidls and get shopping at Harrods…!

  101. Rokabox says:

    afternoon all,

I think last night loss is more embarrassing than the QPR one,
    it was at home,

Arsenal attacks from the right 95% of the time, everybody knows that, Theo works better with Sagna, but he was kept back and on his toes from the outstanding Victor Moses( man of the match), he was getting roasted all night. wenger and his assistant should have noticed that and use the left wing more, but again we had santos there!!

Worst performer to me last night was Song, slow, lethargic, lost the ball and committed unnecessary fouls.

Wenger could have kept Benny and brought the Ox for Theo, it was obvious that he wasnt going to do anything on the night.

Gerv, is not the type of player you bring in these circumstances, the guy is shit “at the moment”

Vermenator was superb along with Rosicky. great attitude, shame they ended with the loosing side.

  102. Micko says:

That’s the thing about Theo, although he’s only 23 he been around the first team for years now and we still don’t know what his best position is, I have a feeling he will be around for years, I’m not really bothered either way, I know if Arsenal offer him an extension he will bite there hand off, he’s got it too good here as have too many average players in the squad.

    Tiffin time.

  103. rico says:

wath, one day i think RvP will stay, the next i am not so sure ๐Ÿ™ We will know soon enough i guess….

Hi rokabox, too darn right, playing like that in front of our own fans was a shocker, if all eleven had the commitment of TV and TR7, it wouldn’t have happened…

  104. Joaquim Moreira says:

    hello!
Arteta and Beny are out for Saturday. The midfield must be completely change.
our performance yesterday was very poor. The second half was incredible. I count he apportunities (not only the clear ones) for making a goal: zero. The players tried to solve the match by themselves in a confusion way, with the eyes down and bad organized on the pitch.
Also, I don’t understand why we had a central forward on the bench that never come in. If he didn’t come in a game like this what he has done there?
Saturday is another match and another day. Ten defeat it’s enougth
A club can not be third, when lose more than a third of the games. If Arsenal can do it, it will be almost a miracle.

  105. emma says:

The big picture in yesterdays match was Sagna had a day he would want to forget quickly, thats why we lost the match. He was responsible for both goals. Arsenal were caught off guard in the first goal as a result of Sagna’s poor headed ball to Walcot when he should have brought the ball down under control and for the second goal he allowed himself to be beaten by Moses who eventually pulled in a dangerous cross into our 18 yard box. Walcost as usual performed his disappearing act. I hope we dont have a problem against Chelsea in the absence of Arteta. Ramsey and Song should decide amongst themselves who should sit back in the CDM role cause what i observed yesterday was both players seem not to be interested in sitting back when one goes forward clouding the midfield as a result there was no cohesion in the second half unlike in the first making it easy for wigan to defend Rosicky is my MOTM.

  106. W.A.T.H says:

Emma, not up to Song or Ramsey to decide who holds the midfield it’s down to the manager… Sagna made a poor header back to RVP that led to the first goal BUT we had players there to cover him who also switched off completely and Chez was also very poor for the 2nd goal so not just Sagna’s fault…!

  107. Micko says:

Emma, both fullbacks didn’t have a great game yesterday, bit harsh to lump it all on Sagna, cheezer could have done better for their 2nd goal as well, we love doing things the hard way.

  108. rico says:

Does anyone think that AW makes it clear who is to be doing what??

When Song is Songinho and its working, great but how often does his passing fail or he’s caught out too far up the pitch..

Why isn’t Rice jumping out of his seat yelling at him to get back??

    Wath, their second was shocking…..

  109. Merlin96 says:

Put it this way, we are too predictable and teams had found us out.
Therefore in our remaining 4 games, we will find it hard to score…perhaps averaging oen gola per game now.

Just pray for clean-sheets – and four at that – if we want to retian Top-4 status.

Look, not so long ago, our deprived neighbour was 10 points ahead of us….and now 5 points behind with a game in hand.

And there is no God-given right that Arsenal will not lose its 5 points and 7 points advantage over Tiny Totts and Chelski respectively within 10 days from now.

For the next 4 games, I am not praying how many goals we will score…I am praying to the FOotball Gods for four clean-sheets.

Oh Lord, is it too much to ask for?

FOUR CLEAN-SHEETS and I promise not to call Arsene Wenger a hypocritical snake-oil salesman again…(provided he don’t screw Tatar in 2012).

  110. rico says:

    Hi Merlin

‘FOUR CLEAN-SHEETS and I promise not to call Arsene Wenger a hypocritical snake-oil salesman againโ€ฆ(provided he donโ€™t screw Tatar in 2012).’

    ๐Ÿ˜†

  111. Merlin96 says:

I visualise Di Matteo telling his players how to beat Arsenal:

“John, David,….look out when SOng has the ball and is driving towards our goal. He will lob the ball between you or behind you for Walcott to chase..or aiming at the run of Van Persie.

Back-4, just keep an eye on Van Persie as 90% of the passes are aimed at him.

Ashley? You knwo what to do with Walcott? Just shuttle him into a blind alley……he cna’t dribble and you can beat him for pace.

Take-out Walcott and Van Persie, Arsenal cannot score.

Essien..take out Rosicky…..no ROsicky..no guile and tracking back.

Drogba…you continue to run at Koscielny, then Vermaelen, rough ’em up, rattle ’em and liek at QPR< they will start to make mistakes..and Torres…be alert for any slip-up or Szczesny's crazy antics and poor passings….snap it up and drive towards goal..

Juan Mata, I am switching you right-side..have fun with Santos or Gibbs…

    Lampard..
plenty of loose balls aorund the box…and take them out when they so stupidly attempting to dribble out of the box.

Now, I want you all to watch the Swansea, Blackburn, QPR and WIgan games again………

See…you must encourage SOnginho to drive forward all the times…..then hit a long ball to Torres or Drogba or Malouda or Kalou……..

  112. Merlin96 says:

    Hi Rico!

The greatest danger in this recent dismal is not so much on the dnager of losing Top-4 status; but what sort of impact will this having on Van Persie as to the confidence that he can win something with this bunch of losers?

Van Persie is asking the question of: “Can he really win something for the next 4 years with this team of youngsters?”

Will he be let-down like Fabregas who stay on for 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons, expecting Wenegr to venture into the transfer market to buy experienced players to strengthen the squad into a title-contender and trophy-winning team….what happened then?

SImilarly, I doubt very much Van Persie believed Wenger will buy big…buy marquee players and 3 or 4 of ’em to strengthen current squad….

I believe Van Persie may have already made up his mind to leave and just being diplomatic not to announcement his decision publicly for fear of affecting the TEAM.

I don’t buy those dross that Van Persie loves the club and will not leave.
Vieira, Henry and Fabreags love this club, but they decided to leave isn’t it?

  113. emma says:

    W.A.T.H and micko,
quite agree that there were catalogues of errors that lead to the 1st and 2nd goal after Sagna’s mistake. Those subsequent errors after sagna’s mistake could have been dealth with if not for the naivity of szcesny. Don’t know why Santos keep leaving a big space on the left hand side of the defense. I am always scared when we go for the corners cause our 2 central defenders are always up there in the opponents 18. What arsenal needs is a Defensive minded CDM who doesnt need to surge forward when not needed. I hope that wont be a problem when we face chelsea. Arsenal needs to sort the issue b/w song and ramsey cause they will probably be the 2 holding midfielders to face chelsea

  114. Merlin96 says:

Hi Adam, if AVB told Ashley that the sun rises in the East, Ashley will look towards West! ๐Ÿ˜†

believe moi, the greatest thing about De Matteo is that he has the respect of the dressing room, he knew which buttons to press to motivate the senior players who were playing with him, plus he is an ex-CHelski player who know the club inside-out.

That is De Matteo’s greatets strengthen. Players are willing to play for them.

    Against Barca?
I fancy Chelski to win by 1-0 or 2-0. Spanish teams are haivng a tough time in handling the phsyicality of English teams in England.

    Theo?
Well, Ashley is going to stop Theo in his threat by fair or foul means.

  115. Merlin96 says:

    emma…hope not.
    I am plugging for a SOng-Rosicky-Diaby MIDFIELD.

    Or “Tinkerman” strikes again…

    ………………………………Szczesny

    …Sagna………Koscielny……..Vermaelen………Gibbs

    …………………Song……………………Diaby
    ………………………………Rosicky

    …Walcott……………..Van Persie…………….Gervinho

That is all we have left folks!
What a thin squad with the league 3rd or 4th highest wage bill!

  116. rico says:

emma, good to see you back, so amny comment and run, hope to see you become a regular here ๐Ÿ˜‰

  117. rockyrocastle07 says:

Merlin…. I don’t think Diaby has any business being anywhere near a starting line up I’m afraid.

  118. rockyrocastle07 says:

afternoon Rico. Nice walk with Fido?!

I really think it’s about time Ox started every game now. Gerv has had his chance, and blown it (in my opinion anyway).

  119. rico says:

pleasure emma, only two ladies on here, me and agag, the more the merrier, we need to keep thses boys in check ๐Ÿ˜‰

  120. scott says:

it looks like our noisy neighbours will pip us for 3rd position. of the 5 games they play , will collect 12 points totalling 71 points. Arsenal will collect 6 points in 4 games totalling 70 points. Newcastle and Cheski will collect 10 points each so NC will be at 69 points and cheski at 67 points. Its going to be close.

    3.Tiny tots 71
    4.Arsenal 70
    5.NC 69
    6.Cheski 67

  121. rico says:

    Wath ๐Ÿ˜† re Diaby…

Ak will not be happy lee

Hi rocky, managed to avoid the hail stones, so all good thanks

Gerv hasn’t been the same since his wonder goal in the ACON’s, i think he’s still in shock….

  122. rockyrocastle07 says:

Still in shock that he (a) didn’t fall over at the vital moment or (b) realise we was through on goal, and shit his pants?! or a mixture of both…!

Scott – I think someone needs to get to Shite Hart Lane pretty quickly with another contaminated batch of lasagne…..

  123. rico says:

    We try rocky ๐Ÿ˜‰

scott, not sure how you work that one out, we could eaaily win our remaining fixtures as easily as we lost to wigan and qpr….

its not over until its over….

  124. scott says:

Tots have easy fixtures left, being conservative when it comes to us, given how patchy we were yesterday.

  125. emma says:

Scott, I don’t believe in easy run in to the end of the season. This is the period that is most difficult to acquire points. Points are not awarded by simply computation or simply talking. You need to do the talking on the pitch. Don’t be surprise if QPR beat the 5pur2 next wkend. There will be more twist and turns before the season ends

  126. rico says:

    Mikel Arteta (Ankle)

    Last Updated: 16 April

Mikel was forced off with injury in the Wigan defeat. Speaking after the game, Arsene Wenger said: “It is an ankle problem. It looks quite a serious one. We have to scan it tomorrow, it is too early to say tonight. But it doesn’t look a little ankle sprain. It is a serious one.”

  127. rockyrocastle07 says:

Me too Rico… I have a ยฃ15 bet on with a Newcastle fan here that we’ll finish above them. I thought, at the start of the season, it was a ridiculous bet for him to make, so bit his hand off! Not looking dso dumb now….

  128. rico says:

I thought they would fade too, especially after selling Carroll and Enrique – but Ba and Cisse are doing well and Ben Arfa is going through a good spell…

One player they have, who i wish we had and still would sign in Steven Taylor, he loves us…..

It’s all down to us now, win our last 4 and 3rd is ours, but we sure need to show more balls than we did last night, if we are to do so….

  129. stevepalmer1 says:

Evening all, Arsenal didn’t play that badly as the posession shows but to many changes has again unhinged us Santos not as good as Gibbs DJ not as good as Kos Ramsey not as good as Arteta Walcott not at the races Van Persie run out of idea’s Czez looked like a copy of Leyman. We make changes and we are a completly different side Its no good saying Wigan played well because they never they took the chances we gave them we gave the ball away all night because the players that replaced our injured are just not good enough. Ramsey although he may get better just how long do we keep throwing him in when its obvious to every one that he is not up to it, Gervinho has struggled since he came back from Africa and the way he’s going he may get sent back there. Injuries have been our achiles heel this season and the struggle when we have more than two out we need to boost our second string and release players that have shown they are not up to it.

  130. stevepalmer1 says:

Can somebody please explain to me how a shot on goal from 12 yards clears the crossbar by ten foot but a corner doesn.t get higher than four foot just how hard is taking a corner

  131. devilgunner says:

    Hiya folks.

I am back. No fraternising with the dippers today. That is reserved for tomorrow. Had a good training session where we did transition of the ball from one flank to another using diagonal, sideways, knock it back and diagonal passes again. Its amazing how quickly they learn the younger they are. No inhibitions from them. Just expression of pure talent and the joy on their faces when they manage to do it has to be seen to be believed.

So tomorrow its the dippers again. I hope that we do not have to sit for 90 minutes boredom. Ticking off from the head coach or not I will stick to my guns and play it the proper way. I dont give a rat’s arse about results with 13 to 16 year olds. The results are what they do in one on one situations and how the team plays which count for me.

Hi Rico and all the family. Regarding RVP and corners that is something which is a bit bamboozling to my old dad and myself. We often wonder about it and it is a bit irritating that he takes the corners when he should be in there taking two or three men with him. Rosicky and Arteta can both take them. So why does he???

And why is it always that we knock corners, free kicks always in the penalty area and hope for the best?? There is no inventiveness, no creativity no innovation. And I spend at least one training session every fortnight on free kicks and corners taken in a different way with kids. FFS these men are professional. On what do they spend all their fecking time???

Dippers devil, who are they ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think RvP takes them because he can swing them in, but as of late, its not happening…

Regardless, we don’t have a clinical header of the ball, apart from TV, so why bother?

  133. Joaquim Moreira says:

Chelsea is the key game for reach the third or fourth position. I hope we overcome yesterday defeat.
After semi-final score, it’s dificult to prognoze spurs performance. Newcastle has for me, the most dangerous team now. Chelsea depends of our next score.
Bayern 1- 0 Madrid. Has the referee a M.United shirt?

  134. Scott From Oz says:

For the first time,I’m not so positive.
It comes down to the fact that we couldn’t fire up on the weekend, knowing how high the stakes were.
    It was disappointing.
If Diaby comes in,he owes the club massive things……….payday time mate.
Say what you like about him…….he can play.
Hopefully,Wenger has held hom back to ensure he’s 100% recovered, and not the normal 90%.
Morning all……6am and all is well.

  135. W.A.T.H says:

2-1 to munich…. could be interesting 2nd leg…..! I’d settle for the chave leading 2-1 as well 2moro and then they will think they can beat Barca and give players a rest against us maybe but who ever they pick we still need to turn up…!

Scott it’s not just about being positive or negative, its about realism of the situation and our limitations and weaknesses… I admire your attitude and 80% of the time it’s good to be like that but it shouldn’t cover over where we are weak and what we need to address especially when we seem to make the same fuck ups year after year and that for me must be the managers fault…!

  136. W.A.T.H says:

As for Diaby seems he’s not even training with the team so he surely can’t be in with a shout for Saturday…! As has been said on here before why not Santos in front of Gibbs balance on the left to start with and pretty solid surely but would wenger be so bold…? would he mix things up and be out his comfort zone with such a radical tactic…?

  137. W.A.T.H says:

If he’s fit and it’s also a big IF i’d rather see Coq play in the middle, he gives us bite he gets stuck in and keeps the ball moving to give us a decent tempo…! Rosicky Song Coq….! Thats not to bad at all. Wenger won’t do that either…! lol

  138. Scott From Oz says:

At least we’ll be meeting Chelski at the right time.
Hopefully Barca belt tripe out of them tomorrow.

  139. allezkev says:

Scott, we need Robin to rediscover his scoring touch, big style, and for Theo to put in a performance.
Koscielny & Gibbs back into the back four for me.
No Arteta is a blow. Ramsey & Song have to turn up.
The team also need the fans to get behind them.
Ramsey & Walcott need support, not criticism…

  140. Scott From Oz says:

    I agree AK.

There is,however, difference between Ramsey and Theo……Theo thinks he’s worth 85k a week.
I’m that wage,he should be playing top football every week, and leaves himself open to criticism.

  141. Scott From Oz says:

    I agree AK.

There is,however, difference between Ramsey and Theo……Theo thinks he’s worth 85k a week.
On that wage,he should be playing top football every week, and leaves himself open to criticism.

  143. Lee says:

    Morning Rico..
brought it back from Spain with me……. ๐Ÿ™
I read somewhere Rico, that JD has started in 8 of our 10 defeats but i can only find 6 starts for him. You know what AW should be saying to the players that there is gonna be a major shake up in the summer and that your ALL playing for Arsenal futures! Instead of that he just rewards mediocrity with 50k/60k per week contracts…….

  144. rico says:

    Scott, Theo is worth ยฃ85K…..

    A month ๐Ÿ˜‰

Like the new film that’s coming out, must get some tickets ๐Ÿ˜‰

  145. rico says:

Morning Lee ๐Ÿ™ re the weather, it’s just so so dark…

The OT might be one of those defeats, he came on really early for Kos didn’t he? Not sure on the other, mabe Merlin can help, he’s hot on stats…

Totally agree re the player shake up, just can’t believe they couldn’t raise their game, and true pros don’t need to be told do they, that should be natural for them…

Something really needs sorting out and we still lack a true leader on the pitch, someone to grab players and give them a shake up…

  146. Lee says:

but it’s mantra-like chanting every season from us, and we’ll get promised new quality players and sweet f.a will happen! Surely this season the penny has dropped, the squad is too lightweight and weighed down with deadwood….us fans are not asking them to financially ruin the club but do the right thing, out the shite and replace with quality!! Simple house-keeping! rant over!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  147. rico says:

I keep thinking similar Lee, surely the penny has dropped, especially after last summers debacle..

last summer for me, if he sits back and does nothing again, then i won’t care if he goes but… surely he won’t let that happen..

my rant wil go on ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰
