Wenger confirms he could sign Rooney & Fabregas, if he wanted to……

Morning all,

Chelsea have started the ball rolling in the transfer window, well, they have got all the journalists and Sky Sports presenters excited. Yesterday it was confirmed that they had made an official bid for Wayne Rooney which was rejected. Jose made it clear later in the day that he is quite determined to get the England striker.

Meanwhile, over in Vietnam, Arsene Wenger is reported to have been asked about Rooney, as we too have been linked with him. Most believe we wouldn’t match his current salary. However:

We do not have any problem with the wages of Wayne Rooney, but it’s very difficult for us to talk about any specific case.

Do I get the sense United would be unwise or unwilling to sell to a Premier League rival? It happened to us. It can happen to them. Rooney is under contract. He has two years to go. It’s United who make a decision.

Yet again, he gives very little away does he……..

You can imagine all the newspaper headlines being written, the stories, grossly exaggerated of course, following those dramatic headline.

Stop Press.

Manchester Utd announce that their Chief Executive was on his way back to the club from their tour in Australia to sort out urgent transfer business….

Wayne Rooney one would presume…..

Wrong, Cesc Fabregas those journalists suggest….

Meanwhile, back to Vietnam and another word from Arsene Wenger:

We have the clause in the contract so we would be on alert. At the moment, Fabregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona.

Unless he has changed his mind, I don’t know but that’s what I’ve been told.

Is he suggesting that if Cesc does choose to move back to England, Arsene Wenger would activate that clause? What is Fabregas doesn’t want to return to Arsenal…..

Anyway, seems they are all wrong, The Daily Mirror report that Manchester Utd have in fact made a £60 million bid for Gareth Bale……

Exciting isn’t it….

Some proper news and it’s good surrounds Jack Wilshere, after his little cameo yesterday, Arsene Wenger believes he’s very close to being fully fit for the opening game of the season against Aston Villa:

He is not short power-wise because he’s done a lot of work on that front.

He is short cardiovascular fitness, a little bit. That’s why we try to give him 20 minutes, after that 45 and after, hopefully, an hour and we’ll have to see how he responds.

That opening match will be a much tougher test than the one yesterday but it was another good run out for the players in awfully hot and humid conditions.

The game had moments of magic, moments of madness and plenty of goals. Eight all in all, seven of which were ours.

Olivier Giroud (3), Chuba Akpom (2), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ignasi Miquel all found the back of the net…

We seriously need to sign another defence minded midfielder, if we start the season without one, we will get battered through the middle… And Ryo, well he looked the most out of place player on the pitch. He is clearly unfit and some of his passing was woeful.

Nearly as woeful as Theo Walcott’s shooting…….

Next up is Nagoya Grampus in what should be a tougher match. It’s on Monday with an early 11.30am kick-off. Again it’s live on ESPN.

Have a good day all…..

We can get Rooney 4 30m Suarez 4 40m Felliani 4 23m williams 4 10m all 103m n we are of not spending in d market for 3yrs only selling old legs like chamark bendner park santos dis year next year gevinho sagna rosicky and d following yrs anyone but I assure u our young lads would have been superb regular gunners 4 lif

  2. C Hills says:

Isn’t this what journalists are meant to do, just report the news? Instead, they try to put two and two together and, most times, they manage to get a number which is not four. Thanks rico, for doing their work.

  3. Bradster says:

    Morning all,

Had funeral stuff yesterday. So what’s new on HH?
Saw a post asking what does Dick Law do? I was wondering that too, so please enlighten me anyone in the know? Because I see it as Wenger doing Dick and Ivan’s job when it comes to transfer dealings.

  4. C Hills says:

Morning Bradster, not sure Wenger could possibly combine Dick and Ivan’s jobs. Granted, he has more control over transfers but, he would collapse under such weight imo.

  5. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

Another fine post from the first lady of the house.

Brad, only if we knew what Dickie does… all I know is he spends half his time in the fecking US of A and August in Colney… reason for the trolley dash.

So we can afford any salary but we have not made a bid. AW will only sign someone when we get back from the Far East tour. He will then know what we need… sounds stupid but ….

Brad, hope the funeral stuff was not of a young person…?

  6. rico says:

    Morning all…

Apparently it’s Law and IG Bradster who do all the transfer work… Or do none as the case maybe…

Ch, they make it up as they go along…

  7. BigSanty says:

Guess we will finally get Rooney as earlier said by Ivan Gazidis & now Wenger confirming same. If only they would act fast & snap him up as Rooney is the catalyst to our great club winning the championship again.

  8. C Hills says:

rico, is that how it should be done?
re transfers, Ivan already set Wenger up with his statements.

  9. rico says:

BigS, I sure hope so but I thing signings like him, Suarez and Fellaini will all take time, unless silly money is offered…

Even Jose has started his bidding at a ‘sensible’ amount and Real won’t pay more the £25m for Suarez (according to reports)

All three are possible, just hope we don’t end up with none of them…

  10. zakk nigeria says:

We are fed up with this waiting game. Will arsenal ever sign world class players? Someone help me.

  11. C Hills says:

We are tired, zakk but, we should also be sensitive to the issues. Take what we’ve been told is happening with madrid as an example.

  12. Jay says:

Morning all ,Well done for keeping the site interesting with all the non news thats around at the moment.I know the opposition in the friendlies has been poor quality ,but the squad has looked nice and sharp especially Giroud .Will Rooney or Higuain be with us by the big K.O ,who knows ,the story changes from day to day.No denial yet from Santi regarding his exit rumours ,lets hope its just Marca stitrring up a non story.

  13. rico says:

I guess so Ch. AW gives IG/Laws a list of players, they go off and do the deal, or at least try to…

  14. rico says:

    Soon hopefully zakk..

Thanks Jay, it’s tough at times 😉 I think both AM and Arsenal have denied the Santi story…

In my opinion, he’d make us stronger Ch..

  15. C Hills says:

For a midfielder, I was thinking a defensively minded player with excellent passing skills is what we need.

  16. tsgh says:

Rico, his daily job is acting as scout for the America’s i.e central and North America.

He brought in Vela, the Brazilian boys who turned out shite, JC, and now Zelalem.

  17. rico says:

Don’t get me wrong Ch, there are others out the like Capoue who for the right offer, could be signed.

I actually don’t care what the guys name is, just as long as he can finally fill the huge gap we have in midfield…

  18. tsgh says:

C Hill, I am still waiting for a DM with good passing skills in world football. 🙂

In recent times of football the best DM have all been considered the weak line in teams originally.

From Dunga, Hessler through to G Silva and Makelele at RM…

The defensive midfielders who have been remembered for their footballing skills were originally CAM who were converted to DM…

L.Matthias, Pirlo, MA08, Yaya Toure were all attackers turned DM. Even PV04 and Diaby were 2nd strikers at youth level.

The rare one’s like De Rossi and Rijkaard have been very few.

Players like Busquet and Carrick are not considered DM by certain sections of football fans.

  19. tsgh says:

Of course that is why I mentioned in my post last week that Dick Law will be asking for a huge commission for bringing in Zelalem. 😛

  20. Bradster says:

Thanx guys, was my father in law’s funeral. It was pretty tough as it wasn’t by natural causes. So now I’m head of the family as everyone is reminding me and I need to take care of the funeral, his business and his estate and my own job in between.

Anyway, not to dump that on you guys. I agree ts, I’m not even sure we’ll buy then. The proper guage would be the Ems cup and the playoffs. I really hope Wenger doesn’t think our striker problem is over. I still think a fast, sublimely skilled number 10 who can score inside and outside the box is needed. Giroud is useful and we need his dimension to our game.

  21. C Hills says:

Cg is not yet here, rico (the agony of qwerty). My thoughts too, as long as the player closes the gap well enough, his name could be anything.

  22. tsgh says:

Brad, I hope your Mrs and family are coping ok…
On football matters, I think Gourchuff will be a good alternative to TR07… I am still not sure were JW will fit into the team.. as good as he is. 😮

CH, I do rate MF but not as highly as the pundits think he is. He is not even the best player at Everton. Pienaar is far better and makes things happen but he was not given much chances by ‘arry.

  23. Bradster says:

We need Fellani to be our Yaya Toure and take the role that we always wanted Diaby to take up as the driving cm. His price is too flattering for what he would offer in a DM or second striker role and I’m sure he won’t suit our style in those roles.

  24. allezkev says:

    Flamini is up for grabs…..

Nice and cheap, French, ticks all the boxes……

    Morning Gooners/AKB’s/Doomers/Mick…

    Morning Rico…

That there is damned good post M’Lady.

    Now pay up… 😀

  25. Scott from Oz says:

Very sorry to hear it Bradster.
I have my ex workmates funeral tomorrow.
Not that there is ever a nice one, but I really a not looking forward to this service.

  26. tsgh says:

Cheikhou Kouyaté? Have you seen him play?

He covers the ground well though, the few times I have seen him feature for Anderlecht. He is not very good on the ball from midfield but looks very good on the ball when playing as a CB… 🙂

    Morning Ak

  27. Bradster says:

    Thanx everyone, good luck Scott.

I agree Kev, worth a punt on Flamini on a free for a one year contract.

  28. allezkev says:

    Morning Ginge.

I suppose if I wanted to be controversial, I’d tend to think that Wenger should go with what he has and then see where we are in late August.

The Petro Dollar clubs are gonna Hoover up all our targets anyway, but there must be be a few Carzorla-type nuggets floating around in La Bankrupt Liga who Wenger can snap up once the Artificial Clubs in SW6 and Wastelands have done there damage.
Those ersatz arseholes can’t buy everyone…

  29. allezkev says:

Brad/Ginge, I know that the opposition has been second rate in Indonesia and Vietnam, but you can only beat who is put in front of you.
14 goals, even in these type of games, is positive IMHO.

If Wenger can come back from the Tour with say 2 or 3 youngsters as serious 2st team squad members and another 2 or 3 on the periphery of the squad, then how bad is that…

That, after all, is the point of having an Academy…

Scott I’ll take 5 Aussie dollars off of you as well, if your brave enough. 😉

  30. tsgh says:

Hi Ak, I am with you there. I strongly believe Aw does not think any of his new signings will or deserve to walk into the team come August unless there is an injury. I think AW will go with the team that started at NUFC on match day 38 unless there are injuries.

LG are implying AW has made some recommendation re Suarez and Wooney but the board don’t think it is a good decision.

One reason Aw is saying we have the money to sign Wooney. If you remember before Wooney joined United, Aw stated that whenever Rooney was available in future and we had the money he would buy him…

  31. Scott from Oz says:

    Anytime Kev.
You can pay me in April….we have finally decided on the month.
Well, my wife has FINALLY agreed to terms 🙂
    We are coming over….

  32. potter says:

The Dick law situation raises it’s head again. It was mooted that his being in the states (carribbean ) tying up the Joel Campbell deal that allowed Juan Mata to slip down the Fulham Road . Looks like his inaction might allow Rooney to do the same.

  33. allezkev says:

CH, fair point, but no more risky than spending millions on another Gervinho or Chamakh.

We ain’t gonna get Rooney, I’ve never given that link any validity.

Suarez, I’m not sure about. But I can’t see Arsenal going above £30million despite the garbage written in the Media.

Fellaini? Have we even made an enquiry????

    It’s all bollocks guys.

Sit back and relax. Have a Cydrax. 😉

    Lata…

  34. Bradster says:

I really hope not ts. We may be playing well according to the eye but I’d rather we had a Suarez to create some magic in a tight game than wish we had a game changer in our team after doing the same thing over and over isn’t working.

  35. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, i used my normal diplomatic approach.
I told her i am going in April, with or without her.
    Done!
The original play was that she was taking the boy to Disneyland with her sisters family and the in laws this past April, and i wold head to England where we would meet up.
Her sis got pregnant, so it as put back til September…….i asked why the hell would they take a newborn baby overseas?
Anyway, it was then put back to April…still madness, imo.
A week ago, i am told it is back to next September for some other bloody reason.
Well, that was it for me.
    Done.
It is my holiday, not her families.
    April it is.
We are starting to look at booking flights etc, etc.
St Totteringhams Day should be in April next year, me thinks 🙂

  36. tsgh says:

Ak, we talk about the youth system a lot between us… I think Serge and Miquel are in to replace Le Squid/DJ and Yao Gerv. We know from JW’s interview that Frimps is staying at least this season. If he is ready to play 20 mins in the Erms cup AW may just spend whatever it takes to bring in Wooney just to appease some fans.

Zelalem and Aneke will continue to train with the main squad. Olsson will feature in the Coc but will return to the u-19/u-21 squad.

Aneke will probably be tried in the DM role in the Erms cup…

Yennaris will move on.. but I was expecting him or Bellerin to support CJ25 whilst Sagna moved into the CB position as 3rd choice.

  37. Scott from Oz says:

Bradster, that is why i reckon we need a top creative guy in midfield more than a defensive one.
We are lost 25 yards out.

  38. tsgh says:

😀 Scott… is that how you negotiated Ramsey’s deal with Rednose?

Hi Potter, Dick Law is that enigma… a multi-linquist (pronounced mul-tie) who is obviously well travelled and charming but a double agent I suspect working to fulfill the interest of Stan not AW or the fans…

  39. tsgh says:

Either will be good Rico but not both… OG12 deserves another shot… and so does Poldi. If we get both players I won’t be surprised if i SC19/Theo make way for Suarez or Wooney.

  40. Bradster says:

agreed Scott but I’d prefer a proper 10 that can score goals and set them up.

With a proper 10 we need an Arteta of old (Wilshere did it with Cesc) and a DM. If not then the pivots as we have it and a player similar to TR07 in the AM position.

  41. Joaquim Moreira says:

    morning all!
My opinion: Suarez or Higuain are must more importat then Rooney for us If not, try Leandro Damiao for instance
Add Fellaini or another quality player for DM.
Vermaelen will be out for two months (at least…)

  42. tsgh says:

Brad, we definitely need a bit of quality up front.

I am expecting Wooney to tell himself… ‘AW can make me as good as he made RVP so I am not joining Chelsea’… I think the utd board will find it easier to sell to a 4th team with no ambition than the chavs 😉

But Wooney likes money and I am afraid he will go with the strongest bidder…

  43. devilgunner says:

We cannot help you Zakk. but you can help yourself by not dwelling on AFC that much and look around your life and see how much beauty surrounds you.

    Good post Lady.

As CH has told you…………well done for reporting what is there to be reported and not trying to make 2+2=some number other than 4.

  44. tsgh says:

Oh no… so after all the big talk you turned in Sky’s Jim White (on the final day) of the transfer window) infront of Rednose 😛

  45. devilgunner says:

    Hi Ginginho.

The wallet took a beating yesterday. that hurt a bit.

I felt a bit lighter at around 20.00hrs.

  46. devilgunner says:

I am smelling something……….we will start the season with only Giroud up front but on 31st August we will sign Higuain for just 13million. Oh ………..and a fiver..

  47. W.A.T.H says:

    Allo you lot….

AK your getting grumpier by the day 😛

Ts, can see that Unreal have decided they need to raise funds by putting a pathetic amount on the Higuain fee… another way to piss off a current player..!

  48. tsgh says:

All you need is another 8-legged friend to enjoy buddy 😀

Mr WATH… Unreal need money… they recollect we sold Anelka to them at a huge amount and are trying to reclaim it? How are you buddy?

  49. tsgh says:

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has vowed to keep Luis Suarez at Anfield despite interest from Arsenal in the striker.

“He is a wonderful player and he is still very much a Liverpool player. No matter who the player is, nobody is bigger than Liverpool Football Club,” said Rodgers.

“Unless something drastic happens, he will be staying here. He has got three years left on his contract.”
    Brendan Rodgers
“‘Luis is a very important member of this squad and I am looking forward to working with him again this season.

“There has been lots of speculation about Luis moving to another club but, as I said, he is very much a Liverpool player.

“We had an offer that was nowhere near what we value him at. Of course he wants to work and play at the top level.

“But unless something drastic happens, he will be staying here. He has got three years left on his contract.”

In effect all clubs are saying quoting the media by saying AFC currently have money so give us some… 🙂

The reason AW is always smart not to say how much we have…

  50. Scott from Oz says:

News just in……Rooney is heading to Chelski.
Colleen has agreed to personal terms with John Terry.

  51. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, and its the reason Ivan and PHW have been dumb for announcing that we DO have plenty to spend.

  52. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, the world and their dog knows we have money they have not said anything that no one doesn’t know already, the fact they mention 70million is funny though as it’s what was available in Jan, the figure now is closer to 120mil…! They not saying that though so fair play to them.

Yep all good here Ts, Unreal do need the cash which is funny cos they not getting it from us lol
Rodgers saying no one bigger than the club, Similar to what Moyes said about Rooney not a week ago… Both will get sold..!

  53. W.A.T.H says:

Wait til Suarez actually returns to Lfc and tells them he wants out..! That drastic enough for Rodgers lol…!

  54. Scott from Oz says:

I thought everyone would enjoy it Rico 🙂
Wath, i know everyone knows we have cash, but still, that makes the announcing of it even more silly.

  55. Adam says:

Surely if a player is ” not bigger than the club” it means two things. Firstly that the person who says it is deeply unimaginate and prone to speaking cliches and secondly, that the club being presumably “bigger than the player” would want to sell him as proof that they won’t be dictated to.

  56. rico says:

Ah but they aren’t being paid by us Adam, but Santos could be a Flamenco soon which is good news…

  57. W.A.T.H says:

Cheers Scott, Santos deal being discusses Brad… looking good that he’s off…! Only Gerv & CHamakh to go and we have had a brilliant summer clearance sale…! About time too BUT least we’ve done well shifting the deadwood so far and fair play to the club for that. Not the crap been sold time to top up with quality.

  58. emma says:

Madrid asking for £37m fee for higuain. I think I will strike that from the list until they come to their senses. So its squeaky bum time Suarez/Rooney then

Jovetic to mancity €27m good signing

  59. tsgh says:

So the South American AW has gone for Jovetic… 27M i.e £24M approximately. What a joke…

    Hi Adam, Emma

  60. tsgh says:

Emma, as Marquinhos is on his way out of AS Roma… Rudi Garcia can’t bid Arsenal-like amount for Yao Kouassi then… offer us 10M please…

  61. tsgh says:

I am sure AW may have been keen on Stefan at a reasonable price… same as Gon Hig…

Doesw that mean Thiago Silva is off to Barcelona…

I am taking bids for Song moving to Siberia… small issue though he does not get on with Eto… 😉

  62. emma says:

Arsenal have spent a total of £232m on transfers in the last 10 years. PSG has spent £240.6m since last summer!

  63. tsgh says:

    Hi Ch…

10/1 bets Songinho to FC Anzhu… when Tito was discussing midfielder he forgot Songs name… 🙂

Emma its astonishing how much money Naseer has got… I will take Pastore from Psg

  64. tsgh says:

Is that amount including the 15M spent on 20 y.o Digne?

Its falling apart at NUFC… Papiss Cissé refuses to go in for training for religious reasons because of Wonga. 🙂

  65. emma says:

tsgh – Irony of it all is some of this players will not get playing time and will be happy to sit on the bench collecting the fat check at the end of the day. Players like Digne, Pastore etc are all being lured by the greed of money not thinking about their future

  66. emma says:

    re Song:
I am surprised that the greedy dutch man hasn’t put a word for him in manure so he could join up. He must definitely need his hollywood pass

  67. W.A.T.H says:

They paying him a fair song… far 2 much what ever it is but great if you can get it…!

CH we are all scouts as we can all watch 100’s of games on tv per week, makes us all experts…! If some of those knobs on tv can be so called experts so can I…!

  68. tsgh says:

Ginter: “At my age, there is absolutely no point in being stuck on the bench when I have a great chance to play first-team football at Freiburg.”

    A clever boy!

  69. W.A.T.H says:

He missed out playing plenty games for Arsenal…. Even more clever if he picks that option Ts..!

  70. agirlagunner says:

    Boob! Hello, all!

I hope we conclude a signing soon. PSG is spending silly money; just snapping up everyone who remotely has a name. Tut tut.

I don’t hate Song. We ripped Barca off with thta sale. 😀

  71. allezkev says:

    Song:
    Never liked him.
    Never rated him.
    Good riddance.
Give it two more years and he’ll be back in France playing for some no-mark team…

    Higuain:
I think we can safely say that he ain’t gonna join Arsenal.
    Forget him…
    Move on!

    Rico+Scott= 10 notes for moi….
    Money for old rope… 😛 😀

  72. agirlagunner says:

Hello, Kev! Don’t count your notes just yet. I’m with rico, you’ll see a few fab signings yet. 😛

  73. Lee says:

Papiss Cisse fined for refusing to wear the shirt with new club sponsor Wonga on front. Initial fine is £5000 rising to £67,344,264.47 if he hasn’t paid by monday

  74. allezkev says:

Agag, there’s more chance of you getting a pair of hob-nailed boots, than there is of me paying out 10 notes… 🙂

  75. agirlagunner says:

So Higuain is now saying Mourinho wants him to join the Chavs.

That means Torres joins us. Yay!

  76. agirlagunner says:

    Cisse is being silly. Please.

Ha, Kev. And I don’t even know what a hob-nailed boot is. I’m cheering on rico. She will win your bet. 😀

Lee, he’s already ours. 😉 And Abou Diaby. Our yearly “new” signing.

  77. agirlagunner says:

Hiya, Ginge. It’s not as if we still trust footballers, do we?

AK, you’re very pleased with your joke. 😛 😛

  78. tsgh says:

I think even Rafa is smart enough to come to the realisation that Unreal are trying to pull a fast one with Hig…

Yesterday it was Napoli now it is Chelsea. Next week Monaco… I think his father the agent is cut from the same cloth as B-52 Snr.

  79. allezkev says:

Hobbed-nailed boots are all the rage in London Agag.
Well they are among the building site fraternity.
A very select band i’ll have you know…

    Ginge re: Higuain.
Let it go, it’s all a fcuking wind-up.

Adam, I had some wonderful haddock and chips on Monday in a fantastic chippie in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
    You would have been impressed.

Wath, you’re 100% correct, I am getting grumpy. Well I am today. But I cannot hold a candle to you, me ol’ mate. 😉

  80. tsgh says:

    He’s baaaaaaaaaaaack… the legend Mg back i cyber world…

    17 Jul 2013 22:08:54
hope this gets posted on this page.

told there was an agreement with arsenal and Manchester United over rvp sale that they would put in a bid for cesc this summer.
this was get barcelona to show its cards to cesc.

    wenger wants him back.

this could go to the end of the window.

    malaga gooner

    Believable(9) Unbelievable(51)

  81. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, easy on Malaga gooner. 😀 😀 Some people have very active imaginations. 😛

Kev, I wouldn’t like those boots, then. 🙂

rico, ignore them. 🙂 How are you?

Hello, Adam. What are you wearing today? 😛 Hi C Hills. 🙂

  82. rico says:

    🙂 agag, I will..

I bet Scott is soon to wake up believing that England will have been bowled out. He’ll choke on his cornflakes when he see’s what has been going on ….. 😉

  83. agirlagunner says:

Hey, Micko. Howdy? AW is NOT losing sleep about it, it appears. 😉

rico, I don’t get cricket. 🙁 It sends me to sleep. 😉

  84. Micko says:

Same old, same old, the vultures are circling, ready to pick off our targets, Jovetic on the verge of jetting into Citeh, Madrid raising the price of Higuain with Napoli hovering and Chelski making it clear they want Rooney.
Atletico having a larf, presumably Cazorla ain’t good enough for Madrid or Barca to join in the shit-fest.
    Still leaves Suarez though………….zzzzzzzzzzzz.

  85. Gooner says:

Slightly off topic, but why do Arsenal come out and say they have tons of money and then end up buying mediocre players every season? Why can’t they just say they do not have money if they don’t. In that case, fans won’t be frustrated at lack of spending, and if they do end up buying someone eventually, us fans will welcome it as a pleasant surprise.

  86. C Hills says:

Brits, indians, aussies, pakistanis et cet…If it isn’t football, my concentration drops by 50 percent exception being ping pong, with me as one of the players.

  87. W.A.T.H says:

Gooner, we do have money it’s as simple as that..! The key word this transfer window is patience…!

  88. W.A.T.H says:

CH anyone that knows me knows I have zero patience but I think it’s whats needed next few weeks.

  89. W.A.T.H says:

Lots of silly stories doing the rounds lots of stories that are complete and utter rubbish and now a few players are starting to be bought and sold I can see that all now kicking in and things stepping up a gear.

  90. C Hills says:

Also, those who are patient should perfectly understand where the impatient are coming from. They’ve had it upto here (can you see me moving my fingers across my adam’s apple?). For me though, I still trust Arsene or, should I say, have faith in him.

  91. tsgh says:

It seems Naples has opted out of the Hig deal.. 26 y.o Maria Callejon and Albiol have joined Napoli from Unreal. Perez now says he is going to keep Hig.

  92. tsgh says:

20 Italian players have been given suspended sentences for between 6 months to 4 years for the Serie B match fixing incidents.

  93. emma says:

I dont think Higuain will be leaving madrid except someone will be stupid enough to pay stupid money for him. I don’t think madrid are after suarez neither but I sense their target is Bale

  94. rico says:

Ts – I hope they get him too – can’t think why I say that.. 😉

Adam, you, Spectrum. Now maybe…. 😉

  95. tsgh says:

Even better Emma for us…if the scums miss out on Damiao, its been 3 years now and they can’t get him…

As I always said I was not sure what the fuss was with Hig. His stats though impressive were not impressive when put into context. Ronaldo a winger scored 40+ goals every season.

Bent’s goal return is very similar to Hig even though he has played for teams such as Ipswich, Charlton. Even at Aston Villa he has scored 21 goals in 54 matches for them. that imho is very impressive indeed but how many fans will have his name on their shirts.

On a whole Aw buys better players than his rivals but for what ever reason some of the players do not turn up on the big occasions. As an example SC19 over Hazard any day but SC19 turns up and scoress hatricks against Wigan and fails miserably against Chelsea or Shitty.

Poldi over Malouda or Ba any day but some fans will say Ba is better….

  96. tsgh says:

Even better what a great job i.e clearing the ‘dead wood’.

    I still rated Santos though… 😉

Chamakh and B-52 are a different issue. We may have to get Wonga on those two… 🙂

  97. tsgh says:

Emma, I use to rate Manuel at Villareal but he ha lost the plot believe me…

Did you read Laudrup saying he will stay 1 more year at Swansea…

Emma, what did we say to a few on here last season? He has itchy feet… no longevity with him at all as coach… he played for 8 clubs in a 17 year career.
His 5th club managerial gig since 2002…

  98. rico says:

Oh well, another day over in the transfer window over, as Man City agree a deal for Jovetic….

    I’m off for the day……

    Have a good evening/night all…

    ’til tomorrow….

  99. tsgh says:

I still find it odd that Dortmund are willing to let Lewandowski leave on a free transfer; I guess the Gotze money is enough for now…

while they have CL money to play around with, they’re a club who’ll continue to exist much like Arsenal. Buy players cheap, build them up, sell them at their peak for a fee exponentially higher than the purchase price.

  100. tsgh says:

Night Rico… the window is not closed until Jim White goes dump on Tv… and Harry rolls his window down 🙂

  101. Scott from Oz says:

Two minutes to go and Citeh concede a penalty at 1-1.
It is only pre season, but whose form would you rather atm?
    Done…penalty slotted 🙂
    Morning all.

  102. tsgh says:

Good day Mr scott… who are the oilers playing against?

Without Tevez working his socks off they are finished

  103. tsgh says:

Amazulu Fc ha ha ha… they are probably worse than Indonesia…

The dippers are facing Indonesian XI on sunday

  104. Scott from Oz says:

Guys, i keep reading, both here and elsewhere, that PSG, Citeh and the like are buying players for ridiculously inflated prices, and people laugh about it.
Then the question pops up on when will we sign anyone.
Well, one hardly oes with the other.
We can not and should not compete with the obscene clubs.
We have little choice than to sit out the early meat market and see who is left, who is realistic.

  105. C Hills says:

Night rico. I am not worth figuring out.
Ts, wheeler dealery (just make it up as you go) in the championship?

  106. tsgh says:

CH.. wheeler dealer is losing his mojo…

Scott, you know where I stand or sit with Aw… I will remain his no.2 supporter until I am shown hard evidence that he is the reason Arsenal are still a top 4 side after spending less than Wigan.. 😉

Even if we do not buy any player come October, I will be the supporting the club and AW… note, i do not buy ST anymore 🙂

  107. tsgh says:

😀 United, desperate to give off the impression that it’s not all falling apart at the seams with Sir Alex Ferguson no longer around to hold everyone’s hands, are already planning for a post-Wayne World. Their new CEO, Ed “Chopper” Woodward, has flown home from Sydney in order to conduct transfer business and he’s been busy already. United are going to return to Barcelona with a bigger offer for Cesc Fábregas, they’re going to chuck £60m at Tottenham to secure Gareth Bale and, while they’re at it, they might as well jauntily stride over to Real Madrid and make off with Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric. They’re definitely not making it up as they go along, are they.

  108. Scott from Oz says:

South Africa….ok……the few players i saw up close seemed to be of middle eastern descent, so two and two equalled five 🙂
I only flicked on for a minute, saw the penalty and that was enough.
Anyway, Wenger usually is hung out to dry on our “war chest” but this time he has said it himself, so he has no excuse not to spend this time.
If he does not spend, then he must be as involved as others in making promises to assist with ST sales, and will lose a fan here.
I have always maintained our clubs self funding and self sustaining model is superb, but if the money is there, and it is, then fans world wide and yes, the ST holders, must be rewarded for the patience the club asked for 8-10 years ago.

Gareth Bale was at Manchester United to discuss signing on Wednesday morning. True.
    Everton fan.

    18 Jul 2013 11:32:08
Oliver Holt is reporting on us bidding for Bale and other reporters are saying it has grounds as he normally reports on sporting events and not transfers so fingers crossed he is a replacement for Rooney I have always defended Rooney but he is going to far with his lack of respect for the club and it is now time to sell him for the right price, who would you lot like to replace Wayne would it be Cesc or Bale. Katef

Woodward is returning to snap up Stevan Jovetic from under City’s nose. Jovetic and his agent set to meet with UTD officials as UTD is his preferred destination. Moyes really want Jovetic, so Woodward is pulling out all the stops.

    Ronaldinho is apparently looking for a last chance to play in premier league any chance of a move to spurs Eds? {Ed002’s Note -Maybe.}

So Spurs managed to keep Bale from Madbid in Spain only to loose him for far less to the new haggis man at Man Utd. What have Spurs been thinking. Daniel Levy must be mad or is this just more cr*p from a poor poor media story. If and he won’t Bale were to go to Manchester the deal would be something like 100m + Rooney with 50% of Rooneys wage paid for two years. As this is all paper talk then we can all sleep well and not buy the silly paper that came up with this.

    Ed, I’m hearing Anzhi have apparently bid £26m for Benteke, is there any truth in this! {Ed001’s Note – I have no idea, sorry.}

    Believable(11) Unbelievable (4)
Sounds like a villa fan trying to stir up trouble again. let them have him if Anzhi are willing to pay over the odds for him.

The swampies getting all emotional because someone said Anzhi have bid for one of their targets… 😛

  111. tsgh says:

    Coming from a Villa fan 😀 😛

    You spuds make us laugh.

You won’t get Negredo nor Torres nor any other established player, why? Cus you ain’t big enough. You don’t even find your own players that will be great, you kind of fell on Bale as he is the only decent player you’ve produced.
You always try to either steel others up and coming players or sign has Beens that will come for a pay day lol.

Please hurry and sign Benteke though as we are about to unearth a couple of other gems that want to play football, and not come just for the money.

Good luck with him haha and don’t forget to wave at us when we pass you lot lol.

Oh I forgot to say thanks for all that cash your going to give us, I hope you get you get at least 10m back next summer when he moves again.

Mind you, you could offset some of the funds you get for Bale lol and you may just break even.

Now do you feel like you’ve been done up like a kipper pmsl

  112. tsgh says:

    Thats the spirit CH…

I hope you stay around… Me and Scott and a few on here have to do the defending when the season starts..

Scott has decided to go against the grain for next season so I need an AW know buddy… 😛

  113. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, you know i am loyal to the cause 🙂
I am positive he spending will happen BECAUSE Arsene has said he has cash to spend, and that is the first time.
Suarez or Rooney is the question 🙂

  114. tsgh says:

Just pulling your legs Scott… 😀

I think AW is truly keen to spend; I however think a lot of clubs are away of AW’s potential and do not want to sell a good player to us in order to make us compete… 1 big buy plus 2 squad players will sort us out… we do not need JC or any goalie apart from Begovic who I rate…

Suarez is looking very possible with Hig staying at Unreal…

We just need a RB i.e Abate in order for Sagna to play CB.

Best RB list in EPl history

    2012–13 Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)
    2011–12 Kyle Walker (Tottenham)
    2010–11 Bacary Sagna (Arsenal)
    2009–10 Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)
    2008–09 Glen Johnson (Portsmouth)
    2007–08 Bacary Sagna (Arsenal)
    2006–07 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    2005–06 Pascal Chimbonda (Wigan)
    2004–05 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    2003–04 Lauren (Arsenal)
    2002–03 Stephen Carr (Tottenham)
    2001–02 Steve Finnan (Fulham)
    2000–01 Stephen Carr (Tottenham)
    1999–00 Gary Kelly (Leeds)
    1998–99 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    1997–98 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    1996–97 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    1995–96 Gary Neville (Man Utd)
    1994–95 Rob Jones (Liverpool)
    1993–94 Gary Kelly (Leeds)
    1992–93 David Bardsley (QPR)

We slate Sagna but according to EPL index and opta stats Sagna was still the best RB in the league last season.

    Top 2 RB’s were:
    Bacary Sagna: 4
    Rafael: 3

And the players with the highest amount of red arrows:i.e worst
    Danny Simpson: 2
    Nathaniel Clyne: 2

  115. Scott from Oz says:

    Jenks, Ginge??
He was fantastic when playing last season and will keep improving.
    How is Bellerin shaping up?

  116. Scott from Oz says:

If our entire 11 defend as a team, Sagna is fine.
He struggled when he had no cover and was just covering too many yards.

  117. tsgh says:

Bellerin was selected for the Spain u-19 squad… a bit too good going forward 😉

CH, I am not sure there are better CB’s available than Sagna. My reason is that he is getting older and our formation requires our fb’s to defend and attack…

If you remember Maldini was converted from lb to CB in his late 20’s and AC got 7 or 8 more years from him…

  118. Scott from Oz says:

With our clean out, i have lost track…..do we still have Nico?
He was fantastic on debut v Yanited at RB.

  119. tsgh says:

Nico, I have no idea why he was not involved in the Far East squad.

He has not featured for the u-21’s either… maybe he is unwell again.

  120. Scott from Oz says:

Anyway, i am not so sure we need any new defenders at all.
Defending as a unit was the difference in our performances after Xmas, imo.

  121. Scott from Oz says:

CH, while we have Kozzer and Merts fit there is no need.
Sagna can be tried more in cup ties etc, etc to see how he goes.

  122. C Hills says:

Its just the back up thingy. When an arsenal player starts having a series of injuries, you never know when they would fully come out of it. A bit worried about TV.

  123. Bradster says:

    Morning all,

Shew we are cleaning out the deadwood. Took the knock and gave Santos away for free.
If Park is written off, surely we can give him away too.

Good Morning Lady, Sir, Gentlemen and Ladies.

    Yep.

    you might have guessed right.

A fiver dangling from left to right in front of me.

    Except it wasn’t Kev’s and Rico’s.

It was the missus telling me I had to go out to buy some bread.

I thought I was still dreaming in cuckoo land. 😉

  125. C Hills says:

Pre 2010, which arsenal site were you writing for, arseblog, le grove or aclf?
    Btw, does bread become scarce?
