We’ll see, just not yet. Injuries roll into December.

Morning all.

Not a signing to be seen last summer, an unfinished stadium, debt which will possibly do to them what it did to Arsenal a few years ago and not a trophy worth mentioning in years. Poch has won nothing as a manager, period. Totts last won the league when black and white televisions were still the rage. Mobile phones hadn’t been thought of and Apple was something my parents bought a big tray of around this time of the year and then locked away for Christmas in a cold room so my siblings and I couldn’t get our sticky mitts on them. Eating a freezing cold apple was horrible but then that’s what happened back then if the only heating in the home was an open fire in one room.

Yes, that’s how long ago it was when the Totts were league winners and Unai Emery who has a CV Poch can only dream of, wasn’t even born. The best Pochettino can boast about his managerial career in England is three manager of the month awards!

But let’s be serious for a minute, Poch is hardly going to come out and say that he and Emery are going head to head for the fourth place in the league because he knows that’ll irk his clubs fans and he’ll need them onside through what I’d imagine will be a tough time as the balance the books, pay for the stadium and fight to keep their best player. They’ll soon find out what it’s like to be a selling club. Lose Kane to Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern, Barcelona etc, and they’ll be snookered. Yep, I hope it happens too. Let Poch spin his tale about Chelsea being their closest rival, cloud cuckoo land must be a fun place to live.

Meanwhile, over at the club with class, history and a few trophies in the cabinet, just smile and then batter them when they arrive at The Emirates next month. Two fixtures, two victories would certainly put Poch straight.

Emery has more important things to concern himself about right now. The first is Eddie Howes team, the second, securing top spot in our Europa League group. We’re fortunate in a way because Emery has the depth to rotate in the latter. So far anyway but our injury list is a growing concern as those who were expected back this month aren’t going to be seen until December. If then. The only player nearing a return is Laurent Koscielny.

The injury to Danny Welbeck might force the club to bring in another attacking player in January, but if Nacho Monreal’s return is not expected before the turn of the year, a left back might be on the cards too. In fact should Ramsey move, Elneny too, we might see a busy Arsenal in what’s usually a quiet month for us.

Before then though, we’ve got a tricky fixture on Sunday, a long journey in Europe and then a really tough December. If we’re still in fifth spot or higher as drunken slurs of Auld Lang Syne ring out, we’d have done well.

Have a good weekend guys..

Afternoon Kev. I think the interest has gone until we know where we’re going…

Shame really after we got the changes we all wished for..

Jordi Osei-Tutu, is another one of our promising youngsters, whose gone under the radar recently due to an injury – what else? 🙄

He is highly rated by the coaches within the club, can play across the back four but is ostensibly a right back, so maybe we have a solution as cover for Hector within the the club already?

He reach 20 years of age this last October so he’s at a stage in his development when he’s about ready to be thrown into the 1st team mix, if Emery thinks he’s up to it?
Hopefully Lichtsteiner has been passing on a few ‘tips’…

He’s been training with the senior squad this week after rehab from his injury so maybe Unai sees him as part of his squad to visit Vorskla?

Maybe Rico, I think maybe a lot of the contributors we used to have on here go on Twitter and Facebook now, or even Snapchat 🙂

    Me, I like me blogs, I’m a traditionalist…. 😀

Dominic Thompson, 18, also joined the 1st team this week, started out as a winger, very quick, classic modern full back, just what Emery would want in that position, obviously too raw to be considered yet, but he’s on the cusp.

Like you Rico, I think we need a quality left back, Nacho is showing signs of decline, which is a shame as he used to be Mr Reliability, never injured, always put in an 8/10 performance.
I hoped that we might get another year or two out of him but I suspect that he wants to return to Spain like Santi and see out the Autumn of his career.

Kolasinac isn’t good enough for me, that’s when he’s fit, which isn’t often.
Not sure how we could move him on with the wages he’s on, cheers Arsene/Ivan…

Bit of a problem position is left back.

G’day folks, not a lot to talk about today Arsenalwise. Even the speculation over Ramsey’s supposed departure has subsided.

A strong side for tomorrow’s game and a modicum of changes for Thursday’s seems to be on the cards.

Concentration today is all on England and the Wallabies.

A few breaks in the cloud and some sunshine here as well as a slight lift in temperature.

  6. rico says:

Maybe then Kev, Emery might opt for another Lichtsteiner kind of left back which would allow him more time. Certainly for this season if Monreal isn’t returning any time soon..

  7. rico says:

I like Kolasinac Kev.. He’ll get a run now so we might get to see the best of him.

What’s snap chat? Talking over rice crispies? Lol

  8. allezkev says:

Is that Alex Sandro any good then Rico?
I wondered if we might go for the guy whose out of contract at Liverpool, Moreno isn’t it?
Emery has worked with him before, at Valencia I think?

Yeah Cicero, I forgot the rugby, as I don’t have Sky or BT, it all tends to pass me by unless I’m listening to it on the radio.

Great performance in Sri Lanka by Rashid, the spinners have definitely won us this series Rico.
Now I hope that our openers can get some runs.
The team seems to be gradually settling into a regular line up.
Isn’t it the West Indies next, that should be different….

It was a long journey home, about four hours, after defeat by Stoke on a wet Saturday night in February but how must the Aussies feel on their 21 hour flight home after being stuffed by England.

  10. allezkev says:

    Man City, the New Invincibles?

Having seen them dismantle West Ham with ease, it’s possible, worryingly so…
Can’t see us winning at the Etihad, so I guess we’ve gotta hope that Liverpool can stuff them?

We’ve got three or four more years of this before Guardiola hopefully buggers off.

Also bought that the Spuds looked very good in beating Chelski, not withstanding the penalty that Hazard should have got, but we’re in for a tough game at the Emirates for sure.
I’m really looking forward to it.
