Morning all.
Thank goodness that league season is over. It’s been frustrating, if not painful at times. Too many times. The football has often been dreadful with a few players performances being poor, lacklustre and darn right pathetic. The approach to the game from the manager has been equally as bad, if not worse but we’ve been there and done that so many times. As many of us have written time and time again, until there’s change at the club, everything will pretty much stay the same.
That change may come from ownership with someone far more demanding than Stan Kroenke seems to be coming in, although change may yet come in the way of a manager. One thing is for sure, we won’t have to wait long to find out the latter. A week, maybe two depending on which day the board meeting is after the FA Cup.
But it’s funny really, in an odd way because time and time again over the last few months, certainly when we hit that awful run which included a double thumping by Bayern Munich, Arsene Wenger has categorically denied that the speculation surrounding his future played no part in the teams bad performances whatsoever yet during his post match interview yesterday, things changed. Here’s the full transcript of his interview courtesy of The Mail:
Q – What is your reaction to missing out on the Champions League?
‘I don’t know yet, because we have not started the Champions League. But it’s very sad, because for 20 years we were in it, and it is the first year we will not be in it. It’s very strange because for 75 points we are one point short, and of course you can look everywhere where we did drop points. Overall I believe that we played since January in a very difficult environment for different reasons. Some obviously that you know about, and that is very difficult for the group of players to cope with that.
‘Some other reasons where we will talk about another day. But psychological environment for the group of the players was absolutely horrendous. I am very proud of what they have done, the way they responded and finished the season.’
Q – Why didn’t you join the players walking around the pitch on the lap of honour? (Wenger was on the pitch but stayed in his dugout)
‘I wanted the players, they have been disturbed enough. I was out there, to show respect, but I wanted the players to have the quiet lap of honour they deserved.’
Q – So you’ve not said farewell then?
‘No, not at all.’
Q – What are your thoughts on the chants against Stan Kroenke?
‘I think you respect everybody in life. I respect Stan Kroenke a lot. He is not at fault if we did not reach the Champions League tonight. It is the technical department who is responsible for that. I don’t see what he has to do with that.’
Q- What are your thoughts on that situation?
‘Look, that’s not my problem. A club works when everybody does his job. We live in a society where today everybody has an opinion, people don’t stop to talk [don’t stop talking], they do little and they talk a lot. But that doesn’t move society forward, what moves society forward is people who work, really, and talk not too much.’
Q – Is Stan here at the game?
“I don’t know.”
Q – Is this the most difficult it has ever been at Arsenal for you, and why?
‘I don’t know. It has been difficult, yes. Certainly my personal situation has contributed to that. But they should not question, I am professional, as long as I am somewhere I do my job until the last day. You could not question my love or my loyalty to this club, because I said no to every club in the world to stay here with very restricted finances for years. So I don’t understand really why the question that commitment.’
Q – What about Usmanov?
“That again is not my problem.”
Q – Arsenal lost nine games this season, where do you need to improve?
‘Look, I will tell you as well we won 23. And in the unbeaten year (2003-04) they won 26. So we are not far away. It’s true that we lost too many games and that’s where we will find the points that we missed tonight. That was down to a period where we weren’t stable defensively, and unsettled mentally as well, by the exit, the way it happened against Bayern Munich.’
Q – Should your future have been sorted sooner?
‘You have been at the games, and you cannot say that the environment for the group of players was especially positive.’
Q – Why has it not been sorted?
‘I don’t know. What is important is that we do our job. We are professional people and a part of being professional is to perform when the environment is not positive so we have not to look there, as well, as an excuse. But I just say it’s a fact it doesn’t help.’
Q – Since February time, have you have offers from other teams?
‘Look, my personal situation tonight is not so important. I care about this club. Even if I leave one day, I will love this club until the last day of my life and I want the club to do well. That’s all I care about tonight. It’s not my personal situation. It’s just how well the club responds next season.’
Q – Do you accept responsibility in terms of your personal situation affecting and the general mood?
‘Yes. Of course.’
Q – With your personal situation, it is important, therefore, to have clarity sooner rather than later? Is it a regret that hasn’t happened?
‘No, because if I stop one day, I will still work until the last day of the season. I left in some other places when I was at the end of the contract and I still worked with the same commitment until the last day of my contract.’
Q – You obviously have another game, the cup final?
‘Oh! What a subject.’
Q – Is it then important to have clarity before that, surely?
‘We won seven of the last eight games, despite the lack of clarity, so I think we have just to focus to win the next one.’
Q – When did the lack of clarity, then, affect the team?
‘It’s a good question. I cannot give you the answer today. I will give you an answer one day. But not today.’
Q – Is that because the goal-posts have been moved?
‘I don’t understand what you want to hear from me but my situation will be sorted out soon. So let’s prepare for the cup final.’
Q – Who are you protecting by not talking today?
‘I protect nobody.’
Q – So why not say what the problems have been?
‘Because it’s not the moment to speak about some different things. There’s nothing bad.’
Q – The fans are wondering why they are not in the Champions League?
‘You want to use the excuse of the fans to know more! You have to find something different.’
Q – It just seems like the moment to explain?
‘No. It’s not the moment. I am free to decide when is the moment or not.’
What to make of that interview then?
I’ve not seen the interview but the media suggest it wasn’t a comfortable one for the Frenchman which is hardly surprising. For years now he’s used to finishing in the top four and playing Champions League football but for the first time in his Arsenal career, that’s not going to be the case. I can’t say I’m overly fussed at all because it’s not like we’ve really ever been equipped to challenge for the big trophy and if Arsene Wenger couldn’t win it with his Invincible team, I doubt he ever will. Certainly not now.
But one has to laugh somewhat at the media because for the last ten years they’ve all enjoyed writing about how we’ve failed each year as a top four place isn’t good enough and whilst I’d agree, it’s not good enough, now that we have finished fifth, they are making a big deal out of it. The way SS’s covered Liverpool securing the fourth spot, you’d have thought they’d just beaten Juventus or Real Madrid in the Champions League final. They really do run with the fox and the hounds don’t they?
Ok, not playing on a Tuesday and Wednesday will be unusual for us but it will spare us from facing Europe’s best which until we as a club are ready to match, could do the manager and players some good because no one benefits from a 10-2 aggregate thumping at the hands of any club.
We have the FA Cup Final next weekend to enjoy although with Koscielny being sent off yesterday and Gabriel picking up what looked like a nasty injury, I think we’ll struggle. But who knows, we might just get lucky on the day.
Talking of lucky, Liverpool should have had a penalty awarded against them yesterday and had Lovren sent off but lets be honest, we don’t deserve to be in the Champions League. Not this time.
Rico
Spoken like a politician, or a Zimbabwean dictator. He is only concerned about his own future.
Indeed Gg.
His future should have been sorted yonks ago and the players, fans should have known. imo of course.
If the current manager stays, to win me back in his corner, he needs to start reacting for the fans, or if you like, demand the PL trophy. I couldn’t give a rats arse about the CL. Load of old cobblers that crap. Win the Title next year & I will forgive him.
I don’t think he has it in him to win the league anymore. He would have by now otherwise, especially last season.
Well there is no for him to re-sign for 2 more years.
IMO, he peaked as Arsenal manager the day he walked off Old Cow Paddock after the 0-0 draw in the Invincibles year. He had a swagger that day. Since then it’s been a gradual demise as a strong man, well strong mentally ?
The break up of the invincibles started his decline imo, that and the stadium move as he changed the style of player he signed…
Hi Rico and HH’ers.
Thanks for your time and effort, Rico, very much appreciated.
I just fail to understand why a vain egotistical parasite continues to hold our club hostage.
It can only be because he’s terrified of the loneliness retirement will bring him, and the prospect of being alone knowing he was never quite good enough to cut it at the top level.
I’d love to know which club’s he ‘turned down’.
I doubt Abramovich has ever given him a second thought, and he wouldn’t get the unlimited power he enjoys at Arsenal at any other club, he just loves to bluster about nonsense that no-one can prove or disprove. He is more politician than football manager, and his contempt for Arsenal fans is disgusting.
As a club, it feels like we are in the worst place imaginable, worse than at any time in our 131 year existence.
Boy do we need a ‘Henry Norris’ right now.
One thing I’ve just learnt today from listening to fan reaction to Stan, is that he is a tight arse when it comes to forking out some of his Walmart dowry on giving The Arsenal an edge in the transfer market. Oh, that bloke really gives me the shits he does.
Every time I refresh I get an advert for Disney, it’s too much.
Morning All
Morning Rico
Lata
Morning Kev.
I really don’t know why you are being bombarded with Walt Disney as I’m not on either my laptop or Ipad/phone…
Hi Herb.
I can’t believe we have an owner and board who allow him to stay on, I really can’t. I know as far as the football goes, Wenger is really average but the board need to grow a pair and tell him that his time is up…
Our club needs change and not just Wenger…
From top to bottom Rico. Apart from Kroenke’s son we don’t have a Board member under 70, and none with an ounce of football knowledge.
If Kroenke doesn’t sack Wenger immediately after the Cup Final – win or lose – then the heat needs turning up on him.
I noticed yesterday the anger and frustration has turned towards Kroenke, and it’s only going to get nastier if this isn’t sorted out going into a new season, which has already got a bit tricky with the Thursday – Sunday set up.
Arsenal are already lagging behind their competitors having thrown all their chips on the FFP ticket, so if they’re serious about challenging for titles they need to act decisively and cut Wenger out of the picture completely. There can be no sentiment and no more chances for him.
If it was my club I’d be taking Wenger to Court for lying and vastly over-selling his limited ability.
The fourth highest-paid manager in world football, and he expects us all to worship and bow to him like he’s a demi-God. He doesn’t even make the list of the world’s top twenty managers, so why are Arsenal so willing to pay him such an extortionate wage?
Nothing at Arsenal makes any sense. Someone somewhere should be asking some very serious and profound questions of the racket at Arsenal, because people are practically stealing the club’s money and giving absolutely nothing in return.
I’d love to be a barrister going up against both Kroenke and Wenger.
Does anyone know what Gazidis does for his £2m plus very generous bonuses, every year?
Morning Rico. I was at the game yesterday and the team played pretty well against a rather thuggish Everton with a manager artfully employing the tactic of rotational fouling. Quite how they ended up with 11 on the pitch might remain a mystery until you saw the eagerness with which that repulsive little turd Michael Oliver loitered over the prone Gabriel who was clearly in pain. He hung around like a bad smell and was determined to give him a card to compound his woes and no doubt to please oxygen-thief Mike Riley.
Ozil was fantastic to watch. His balance and ability to let the ball do the work was great but, like so many, you had to wonder where he had been for large swathes of the season.
I have never heard Kroenke or anybody, apart from Mourinho, abused by the crowd like yesterday. It seems that many blame him but then again some fans always want to blame somebody. The dynamic at the club looks fragile right now and this a consequence of another below-par season exemplified by missing out on the CL. I don’t think we deserved CL football though and perhaps it has focussed attention enough for the board and the owner to finally realise that the crowd will not go quietly into the night. If they fail to address this then they won’t like what happens next season.
So, perhaps the ordinary working bloke who saves up and commits more than just money to watch the club he loves might have a voice after all. His strength lies in his numbers and right now, he wants positive change.
Good post as usual …Morning Rico
Phewwww …….this shit season is over ….
and i do expect win/loose the FA cup Le Prof is gone .Just my feeling
Herb, does Ivan Gazidis have the power to sack Wenger though? Not that he needs to, he or someone else just need to rip up the contract, although I’m convinced it’s signed and he’s staying.
I too saw the heat has been turned up on Kroenke which is good, but I suspect has only come about because of Usmanov’s bid and the thought of real money being spent on players but unless he or someone else comes back with a much bigger offer, we are stuck with Kroenke.
Agree, nothing about the way Arsenal is being run makes any sense to me either. The club should be doing so much better than it is.
Kroenke has said his shares are not for sale…
Morning all and great stuff Rico.
It is amazing like you say how Sky Sports and all the media circus are celebrating Bindippers 4th place trophy, I find it hilarious ! 😆
Herby Baby……….see you commenting on AA and although good stuff about JC, you need to put comments on there like your 9:59am on here !………just to see them choke on their breakfast ! hahaha……………..it would keep me entertained that`s for sure ! 🙂
Superbly warm and sunny day here !.
Morning Adam. Good to hear that about Ozil but as you say, where has that player been all season, especially when the chips were down?
I’m glad the fans turned on Kroenke, I really am. Totally agree re the future too, the Emirates faithful won’t go away quietly and if the new season starts badly with Arsene Wenger still in place, reap what they all sow I say.
Thanks Alex, Lc.
They’re a joke Lc, pathetic and gutless, the lost of them. They’ll say anything to earn a pound.
TH was saying on SS’s this morning that he expects Wenger to stay…
I agree Rico. Yesterday was hugely frustrating because you could see that the players are good. I’m not saying that the team couldn’t be better but it is enormously frustrating to see them push Everton aside so easily and Everton are supposed to be a team on the up.
I suppose it could be argued that a more proactive or football-savvy board would have seen the mid season decline and addressed it but, if Wenger is as omnipotent as his detractors say, it might not have been enough anyway.
At least the disappointment could act as the renowned ‘catalyst for change’.
We await the ramifications of the season with anticipation.
I`m totally convinced now he`s going to stay, Rico.
The good news for me now is that the fans are getting more and more agrressive with the singing and banners. Imo this will esculate the more we are less competitive on the pitch and I cant see us being competitive with our Managers tactics or know how against better coaches out there and we all know Kroenke is not going to dip into his own pockets to blow our rivals out of the water with mega transfers and wages………..if we cant pay the odds for someone like Kante, then what chance have we got with a real superstar !
Like Wavy said on the last post (and there are a few of us on here who think the same )……Kroenke is the real evil, yes Wenger has to go and he will, but not just yet………at least 2 more years !.
Adam, it’s amazing what a last ditch at top four can bring out of the players, or probably more likely, the manager.
If he could get them playing at that level for most of the season, we’d not all be having the kind of discussions we are today…
We can only hope the ‘catalyst for change’ has some substance…
There will be change I’m sure. Whether it’s to everyone’s taste Is doubtful.
http://metro.co.uk/2017/05/22/thierry-henry-says-what-all-arsenal-fans-are-thinking-about-stan-kroenkes-statement-6652756/
This in some way tells us he`s staying………..like Henry says, Kroenke is quick to say his shares are not for sale, but not quick to talk about if our manager is going or staying !……………..all the time is being spent on the finer details of his new contract imo !.
Me too Lc, if he was going he’d have surely walked around the pitch yesterday and said his goodbyes..
Well Adam, Kroenke has said he wants to oversea us being league champions again so the changes must be big ??
And the band played believe it if you like.
It’s quite noticeable, how quick Kroenke has moved to quash speculation over the availability of his shareholding, but has sat on the fence for months over everything else.
I wonder if there is going to be a special reception for the hairpiece from the Arsenal fans at Wembley?
Worldwide audience, maximum exposure, maximum embarrassment, could an interesting afternoon when Chelsea take the lead…
The statement from kronke has literally just killed any hope I had…
This club under Wenger and kronke is going nowhere they can’t compete they won’t compete they haven’t competed…it’s really just a sad situation all around.
5th-8th is imo Arsenal’s level now..
Losing kos and Gabriel has left us fucked tbh mustafi also doubtful…. I’d be amazed if Chelsea don’t win it.
I just hope now the fans will unite against kronke imo vote with your feet and your money.
Isn’t it just Kev.
I hope the Arsenal fans make it clear what they think of the owner, board and manager at Wembley.
Kel, words are cheap when the right money is offered, I can’t see anyone of sound mind who would sell it’s ‘toy’ for the right price. It might be different if Arsenal was in his blood but it isn’t. Just his pocket!
I think it would be quite the statement if the Arsenal blogosphere could unite the fans against kronke especially for the FA cup as the wanker will be there…
Fans have been divided for seasons now particularly this one…
Wouldn’t it be great to unite against the fucker on a big occasion..
Adam @ 11:32, you are 100% right. I have been saying it the entire season. This team is good, we have quality players, collectively look at their body of work prior to Arsenal. They just didn’t forget how to play. The manager is so poor beyond reason. He’s has past his sell on date. Any other quality manager with this team not only makes the top 4 easily but competes for EPL title. Even if Kronke gives him a billion dollars he will still mess up the package…. his managerial laps this season was lengendary.
And it’s not going to get any better Kel. If we start badly next season, it’ll get even more ugly and even if we start well, we’ll all be waiting for the ever so familiar bad patch…
Said the same Obi. Imo, this is the best squad Wenger has had in a long time, but he can’t get them playing week in week out. Jeeze, he doesn’t even play Lucas!
Exactly Rico, who plays Walcott over Lucas on a consistent basis, if the later is not injured. What kills me is how he uses Xhaka, Elnery, Holding, Gaberiel and Mustafi. He has totally changed their style of play. Why he bought them is us beyond me? That aggressiveness our of all players and reduces their passing range to a minimum of 5 yards. .
I know you are all dying to know !…………………….August 25th is the draw for the EL groups !……………Arsenal will almost certainly be a seeded team !…………………put it in your diary, it will probably be on talkSPORT………….. cant wait !.
Obviously, Perez has somehow upset Wenger, probably been caught trying Arsene`s puffer jacket on and showing the lads how easy it is to zip up !………..this psychologically tells the players what a crap coach he is by the example of………..if he cant zip up a jacket, then what can he teach us on tactics and football ?.
He’s often done that Obi. Gnabry, Campbell, Podolski etc etc… He has his favs and that’s it and you don’t win anything by doing that.
Lc, maybe there was/is some truth in Lucas not being a ‘Wenger’ signing… Because I sure as heck can’t think why the poor bloke has not been played. I like what I’ve seen of him, he’s quick, feisty and isn’t afraid to do the defensive work either..
It`s a mystery, Rico……………………….I fully expect ITV to re-introduce, Tales of the Unexpected with the whole series about …………………..The mystery of the missing Perez !
😆
I think I’d count on Geordie and Sydney to crack the mystery Lc. They are quite reliable… lol
Afternoon Rico and All
Arsenes contempt for The Arsenal fans is
pissing me off.
He mentions the bad patch after the B/Munich games
how the confidence drained from the players, and
how the fans reacted towards the team.
He never mentioned,
how the fans were towards him.
The banners,posters,planes and songs.
The only reason he never done the lap of honour
with the team, was because of cowardice.
Arsene knows the time is up,
If he had any fingernails left.
I would say:………….He Was Hanging On.
Love the Q & A..Rico
Afternoon Fred. I’m surprised he wasn’t asked about not thanking the Arsenal fans after the game. Perhaps he didn’t want some close up abuse…
This Kronke is not going anywhere by the look.
Leaving aside the Kronke thing the season was messed non but le Prof.
Not prepared at the start of season specially at the defence.
Two weeks of rest deemed not enough for Kossa after the international. All his country men wher available for duty.Le prof end him resting and paired poor Holding with that error prone Gabriel.
An extraordinary amount was disbursed for Mustafi which in my eyes is not more than 15M player. After the first signal of fans unrest went paying a staggering 35Mil for Mustafi. Le Prof spent crazy amount on that defence not to mention at the Southampton toddler when there was a proved one snatched lately by the Spu*s.
And what purpose serves renewing Mertessaker contract.Already retired player and injured for long period?
Serious amount of money has been squandered on that defence.I blame the owner for not taking accountable the manager for this.Otherwise one cannot deny that serious has been spent particularly in that defence.
Le prof knew he cannot ask more money and when Santi was out on october cannot do much because already spent a lot by his standard .
Fatigue/injury gave a false hope for not showing at its usual time in November but since little been done on January transfer defeat after defeat was the consequences serious fatigue.Everton surrendering a goal lead and complete capitulation at W.Brom Watford and Palace where simply defeat for ill preparation.
There is no doubt in my mind all this rest at tge hand of the Manager.
Win loose the FA cup the man has to go.
Simple
Hi all. A couple of things. Not sure why anyone would expect him to do a lap of honour after a season of failure. Let’s face it he would only be subject to abuse! Secondly, the dippers have hardly set the world alight given they had no European football and gave up the FA Cup in round 4! Klopp is the media darling though so they make it into a triumph of his genius.
Hi Bob
Did you hear Arsene say:
We have more points than last season, and we have The FA Cup
to look forward to.
His got some Front for a Frenchman.
Hi Fred
And apparently we have the highest number of points to finish outside the top four which is all very well but actually pointless!
If only !…………………….
https://twitter.com/Matt5cott/status/866564157436551168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.footballtransfertavern.com%2Fpremiership%2Farsenal-fans-could-be-about-to-get-what-theyve-been-waiting-for-as-report-hints-at-major-change%2F
Just watched the highlights from the Everton game and what a goal from Ramsey, the build up from Ozil and ( I think ) Iwobi was tremendous………………………………..Poor Danny though !………should have scored one at least, but somedays he cant hit a barn door !………..I`m sure Olly would have stuck them away, but that`s if he could get in the positions !.
If only that chap on Twitter was to get indeed Lc but it’s probably rubbish…
Not a lot of point bragging about 75 points. That tally is 15 points off the invincible season and we drew 12 matches that season….
Mmm. Nobody has convinced me that Wonky Cronky wants out. All that unnecessary tax to pay. The man is a tight wad. He wouldn’t give a starving man the skin off his gravy!
Obi’s explanation of his current situation vis a vis his Rams adventure rings pretty bloody true to me. (It can be found at the end of yesterday’s comments.) He will use Arsenal as his collateral if and when he needs to raise a multi million dollar loan to complete his new project. Why would he sell an asset that he can use as leverage to fulfill his US dreams? And still hang on to the British cash cow! Josh’s will have to wait until his Pa shuffles off his mortal coil before he’ll get his greedy little mits on anything Arsenal and, that may be some years away yet☹️.
Usminov hasn’t got a cats hope in hell of buying even a single share from the silent syrup, not one!
And thus, our dreams of a progressive, competitive Arsenal die before they are born!
(Really hope I’m wrong.)
AW is unbelievable, pointing to the 75 points tally actually shows how inept he is and has been in the last 12 years. After all his gaffes, we still finished with 75 points; therefore, in the previous years these gaffes were there too, except that other teams did not take advantage of it. Now there are 6 teams competing for top 4 rather than 4 teams in the previous years, hence the reason he didn’t make it.
That 75 points is irrelevant because it s not going to be enough for next season either. I can come up with at least 10 -12 points that he threw away this year, his focus should be on that rather than the 75 points. Just look at Sunday’s game, with 10 men for nearly the entire game, they ran circles around Everton. It is hard to believe that a better motivated/ tactical manager will not get much more out of this team. The thing that gets me about AW is that he gives these interviews and make these assessments as though most fans are dumb or don’t watch the games. Please give it a break.
Typical of Arsene to try and pull the wool over us dumb fans eye`s with the 75 points is an improvement, but ignore the real fact that position is more important than points !………….surprised he hasn`t mentioned that it is a record amount of points for a 5th placed team as we are really thick bastards !………………I will demand a trophy for such a great record amount of points for a 5th placed team as I`m thicker than most !………………………………He really does talk some thick shit at times, but unlike me is paid handsomely to be an arrogant thick shit talker !
I cant wait for next season when we get the record for most points for a 6th placed team……………………………….. 😆
Seven next season I reckon, that’s if Usmanov mate spends big at Everton.
That`s OK, Rico, as long as we get a record amount of points for 7th placed team I`ll be happy as I`m a thick bastard and Arsene knows it ! hahaha
You reckon 7th? That’s pushing it Lc… lol
If he is going to really go for the league, we should see a few out and some goodies arrive..
Rico, I will have to back myself now as I have always said that our best chance to win the league is to be out of the CL .
EL doesn`t help because of the prize of winning it, but if Arsene treats it like the League Cup then we could be more competitive next season, although our big problem will be Arsene himself !.
Like you said the other day, the prize for winning the EL has chucked a spanner in the works !……………a real unknown sort of season ahead for I think and Wenger has already said that a couple of quality additions are needed to make us more competitive !.
I see David Moyes is now available !
Arsene goe’s on to say:
I am very proud of this squad,if we can keep them
together,We do not need much.
As we all know Arsene will be Re-inventing Himself
But its not new words of wisdom..Is it.
He must be growing a beard or somethink.
He reminds me of someone ?
But he won’t treat it like the EL cup Lc as there’s a CL place at stake…
That’s so Wenger Fred…
Night guys, catch up tomorrow…
Haha Cornwall, how are you? 😀
I would do as you suggested, but I promised Micky I wouldn’t bring the mood down with my dooming!
If you read my comment you’ll have noticed I also said that AA is a haven for a few personal friends who don’t get bogged down in club politics or debate how good or bad the manager is.
On most other blogs you can let it all out and rant to your heart’s content, and I suspect part of the reason a lot of nailed-on staple AA regulars have departed for that reason.
If you do go full-on, you’re likely to be shot down or get a very spiked response. No reasoned discussion, just instant disagreement regardless of any facts supporting your opinion.
I just don’t get Arsenal.
There’s no long-term plan, no vision or blue-print to get fans excited, or even on-side. The hierarchy just don’t understand the mentality of the fans because there’s no transparency or communication. They’ve created a bunker type situation, a siege-like mentality where it’s become a war of attrition between the hierarchy and the fans. They never talk publicly and treat everyone with complete contempt.
It is snobbery of the highest order, and it is breaking the fans hearts and destroying their faith.
I really don’t understand who Arsenal are anymore.
Herb, what do you know, your just a peasant, it’s not snobbery, anyone on our board will tell ya that.
Me, Micko? As you can see from my inane ramblings, I’m clueless.
In fact, if you come across any vacancies where a village is looking for an idiot, please let me know…:D
He’s good isn’t he Cocker, scores all different types of goals, is very calm just like a certain Frenchman, but gets them with his head and isn’t afraid to follow up rebounds and sniff out the tap ins…
Same age as Mbappe, who is doing it in the CL and that’s the difference, he has to do it at the senior level, but yeah, very promising.
So if Wenger is still in situ next season we can expect the boy to sent out on loan instead of being ‘blooded’ at the Arsenal, unlike Mbappe! Who is is sought by every club and its uncle!
Five talented youth it’s chance Arsene. It’s taken the thick end of 7? Years for the Ox to get his pick when, despite injuries, he should have been a 1st team regular several years ago. Wenger’s fault? Of course it was. nketiah? No chance, he may be just what the team need but, Wenger after 959 years experience, knows better! Don’t get me started…..!!!
Morning Rico, all.
75 points, 75 fucking points! What a turd! Arsene says a bunch of crap load every damn day! Does he know 75 points wouldn’t have won the league even last season?…when everyone was sleeping.
It shows his ambition is to get points enough only for top 4. Winning the league has never been his goal -despite whatever crap load he says. Never have I seen a man desperate to look positive. His desperation baffles me.
Stan, now this is the real fiend. As reported he ignores everything arsenal but when his money machine is tamoered with he (KSE) are the quickest to issue a statement. WTF? Every Arsenal fan now knows where it hits home with Stan. In the summer we’d boycott renewal, not touch a single arsenal merchandise as if they are radio active, make the club generate as little revenue as possible, anything to keep this f***kin yank off the arsenal.r
JM – am assuming you watch Portuguese league, how’s Bas Dost? Saw highlights of his goals and he’s a striker who knows where the net is. We’d use a player like him upfront. He’s the second top scorer in Europe and he’s Dutch! I like him already.

NKetiah , you all comparting him to Henry but I see a lot of Wrighty in him and another one of those I would take with open arms.
Comparing , must have hit two together.
At the moment all I know is Wenger is committed to his over 8M cheque an year more than the fan’s satisfaction and the Arsenal’s progress. How about he stays and gets paid let’s say 10k a week – just enough to get him by – he’s a bachelor anyway… to state he’s not about the money just like the Moreen and Pep mercenaries who are often pointed out as money grabbers. Wenger is one of the too. Only a century older.
Morning Marshall, Potter and all.
I too like young Eddie. The youngster looks to have it all in his locker and if can replicate such form in the PL, then we’ll have a cracking striker in the team.
New post is up now…
