Under 21’s get it very wrong! Wenger set for Bundesliga move in summer transfer dealings?

Morning all.

Sorry, it’s back to me again after Kev’s fine post yesterday so if you’ve any sense, you’ll jump straight to the comments section to see who’s around…

Not a lot of news around today so I’ll keep it short and gossipy…..

According to Kicker – Arsenal are ready to make a new, improved offer to finally sign Ilkay Gundogan. The Telegraph suggest that Arsene Wenger has been chasing Gundogan since January and reportedly had an £18.4 million bid for his services rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

Kicker go on to say that Arsenal will make a new bid at the end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund have had an awful season by their standards but have somehow clawed themselves out of the relegation places up to tenth place. But another dip in form could easily send them back towards the bottom of the table again as there’s just eight points between them and bottom spot.

Like us, they want Champions League next season at all costs but right now that’s looking highly unlikely and that’s when things could get tricky for them. Top players want to play Champions League and Dortmund may fear a few of their better players would want out in search of better things and let’s be honest, they have a few….

Apparently Manchester United and Barcelona are also keen on the Gundogan, but Arsenal are apparently the clear front-runners.

Says who I wonder – but would Gundogan fit into this side well. Or would Sven Bender be a better option if Morgan Schneiderlin hasn’t really agreed a move to us in the summer. Or will it be………. type any name here..

Seriously, with all the players linked to us, maybe none will end up being an Arsenal player, they seldom do after being on the back of the gossip pages.

Aaron Ramsey looks to have recaptured some of his last season’s form of late. On Saturday he completed his 150th Premier League game for Arsenal and how fitting it was that his goal sealed all three points.

I’m delighted to get the goal and even more happy to make my 150th Premier League appearance. Hopefully there will be many more to come.

It means a lot to reach that at my age. I missed a big chunk of that through injury so I’m very happy.

He’d be well into the 200 for appearances had that thug Shawcross broken his leg!

But he’s still 24 years old and has plenty of football in him yet. As does Jack Wilshere who continued his return for the under 21’s last night. He couldn’t prevent them from losing to Reading but then neither could Abou Diaby or Serge Gnabry who also got more playing time after injury.

Fancy letting Niall Keown grab Reading’s winner.

Best the big boys get revenge on Saturday……

That’s it for today, have a good one guys….

Dortmund can not make CL next season, they are 18 points off 4th spot, they will find it tough enough to make EL

Nice post kev I really rate gundogan think he ll take us to the next level. He’s a younger arteta and ll only get better but if losing out on him means we get Morgan shniedrlin then woop de do 😀

  3. goonster says:

Yeah kinda small but he’s technically gifted rico. Messi isn’t a Goliath is he. Lol. I would take either but have been dreaming of Morgan for so long lol.

  4. goonster says:

I ve seen some pretty useless 7 footers like nzonzi Karl Henry et al. Size is so overated. I love ener banega he does a wonderful job in the middle of the pack yet he’s looks smaller than messi 😀

  5. rico says:

Just think we need a bit more height in our midfield goonster…

But Morgan isn’t 6′ either and he’s being raved about by all… Just hope we get someone who is darn good…

  6. allezkev says:

Hiya Stan, it was Rico’s post mate…

But I’ll take the credit if you like… 😉

Gundogan – is he really any good?
I really get a bit bored with hearing the same old names via the same old rumours via the same old agents in the same old newspapers and repeated on the same old anally challenged click-bait sites on NewsNow…. Fcukin’ yawn….

  7. allezkev says:

Jamie Sanderson on Metro, really has turned into a right tosser…

Metro is the last place any Gooner should visit…
    Absolute garbage…

  8. goonster says:

Rico height is so so overated stoke city are one of the tallest teams in the Pl but have conceded more goals from set plays than any other team. If we work on getting the second balls we ll be alright. If we lose the first balls we need to work harder to win the second. So far we ve doing great. Height pah so not necessary.

  9. allezkev says:

Rico, every day you produce a silk purse out of a sows ear…

I reckon i must just scroll past 80% of the rubbish on NewsNow.

    It’s really irritating…

  10. allezkev says:

Stan, he got a job as a journalist (ha fcukin’ ha) and now he’s just a fantasist like the rest of them…

  11. rico says:

Kev – agree re the Metro and I’m really surprised with some of the stuff Jamie writes, his old site was so good.

Guess he get’s paid on hits for the Metro…

  12. goonster says:

Cause I know how your mind works….you re going turn this on its head now. Lol you old mischievous goat. Lol

  13. tsgh says:

Goonie, considering you are a Dutch man and a Yank; I would have expected you to height discriminate… 🙂 😉

    Good read Rico…

Kramer or Gonalons are our options now me think…

Otherwise Hoger of S04 when we swap poldi.

It looks like S04 may not make the UCL either; I wonder if Draxler will become available next summer.

  14. goonster says:

Oh shit ts hogėr is awesome I keep forgetting about him but he’s a tall order. Don’t think shalke ll sell.

  15. goonster says:

Scotty oz you re a dwarf compared to lee…he’s immense. Lol I think you re just about a head teller than rico 😀

  16. potter says:

Shows how bored the journalistic world is when all of our teams are out of Europe they have to rely on transfer tittle tattle to fill column inches. Even Raheem Sterling and his visit to Jackie boys shisha club is not giving them too much to chew on because they wouldn’t want to upset their relationship with their favourite northern club.

  17. goonster says:

Hahahahahahahahaha kev stop it’s too early. You re gonna get me fired. Lecoq du ka van?? What the hell does that even mean? Hahahahahahahaha I have to pee. Be right back. Lord God these guys ll be the death of me.

  18. rico says:

Think there’s a lot wrong – Peter Moores for starters….

Having read KP’s book, it’ll be a while before things change but should the ECB welcome him back, that would suggest to me they are trying…..

  19. Micko says:

Begs the question technical class (Arsenal) or attitude (Monaco), suppose you need a bit of both and a bit dollop of luck to go all the way.

  20. Lee says:

Someone say BBQ? Today’s apparently going to be the hottest day of the year and it’ll cool down at the weekend!
The spoon bender is helping Reading out..
    James Milner being linked….
If citeh want home grown players what about swapping the sprinter or the smoker for Aguerro?
Wrighty reckons we should go for Yaya Toure not Yaya Pat.

  21. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Lovelies and Hunkies.

Fine post yesteray. And a fine post as well by Kev the day before yesterday.

Seems that PSG want Debuchy. Hmmmmmm. What do you all say??? Sell him for the same money we bought him and keep Jenkinson who has had a very good season at WHU and proved himself to be reliable and strong fitness wise while Debuchy spent most of the season out through injury, or keep him and sell Jenks???

Imo I would sell Debuchy and keep Jenks. One is nearly 30 while the other is still young. And I am sure there is more to come from him in terms of development.

  22. rico says:

    Morning Devil.

I like Debuchy but I can see the logic in your suggestion… IF one of the two had to go, it would make sense to keep Jenks…

  23. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Bonjour Lady.

Jenks has improved with the constant game time. a lot.

yes it would make sense to keep Jenks. and it would solve a lot of problems since it would leave Chambers to play at CB.

    that is my thinking.

AW’s way of thought is much different than mine. Or is it???

  24. Lee says:

You also seen that this sprinter wants to wager £30k he’d beat Bellerin over 40m….. now if it were Brudder Adam who was challenging Bellerin that’d be a different story!!!

  25. tsgh says:

    Morning Ricoet al

I am with you Dev; I didn’t see much logic in buying Debuchy myself…; imo he was bought 2 seasons too late.

Rico- Sagna is most definitely regretting his move (football-wise) I am sure. Saying that his bank balance has most definitely doubled so… 😉

  26. potter says:

Go along with that ,Debuchy has said in the French press that his move to us has not worked the way he wanted , mainly due to injury. However he has seen Bellerin , his stock is still high in France and he may well look at PSG as a fresh start. Jenks is capable of working in tandem with the little Catalan and offers cover as Centre back as well. Reckon Wenger has to have a heart to heart with Bellerin and ask him straight out what would happen if Barca came in for him . If he gets the right answer go with the two youngsters and spend our cash to help Coquelin and replace anyone else that might leave.

  27. potter says:

Lee , I wonder how the sprint speeds are measured , If from a standing start the sprinter may well be right but if the timing is from two points at full speed then I can see where the 4.2 comes from.

  28. rico says:

Morning Ts. I bet Sagna is a very wealthy man these days. Still, he didn’t move for money did he, he wanted to win trophies…. 😉

  29. fat-gun Ug says:

    Good morning HHers.
Sagna did a Micheal Owen, leaving a team on the up and joining one seriously heading down, poor timing. Shitty may not see a trophy for the remainder of his contract..

  30. rico says:

I can understand why AW signed Debuchy – with Jenks and Bellerin looking like they needed a bit more time to flourish, Debuchy was the perfect age….

  31. Hell Raising Devil says:

forget the Barca situation. that can happen it might not.

imo AW should sell Debuchy and keep Jenks because with the latter we would have two players for every position………

    Bellerin, Per, Kos, Nacho
    Jenks, Chambers, Gaby, Gibbs.

the money made from Debuchy could help AW get another DM.

And for heavens’ sake AW should promise Jenks he would get a good amount of game time with the amount of games we have. He can also use Bellerin as cover for Theo if the latter jumps ship. Imo I see Bellerin more as a winger than as a FB. With pace like that and his technical level he will easily outshine Bale.

  32. rico says:

Potter – did you see the comment Bellerin made about being a top footballer – not a Barca footballer? Or something like that….

  33. tsgh says:

Potter at the moment Martín Montoya and Rafinha are ahead of Bellerin at RB and not forgetting Alves.. if Hector allows himself to be poached then he deserves all he gets…

My only concern is that Barca need wingers and Hector was originally a RW and also earmarked for the RW role at Barca but he thought Deulofeu etc were ahead of him…

  34. Hell Raising Devil says:

it does not mean that because Cesc left or whatever history will repeat itself. both are different persons. he might go……then again he might stay.

the most important thing is that AFC will always get the best out of any situation that might occur. Life went on after all those players left. Initially yes, some of them had good careers somewhere else, but on the whole it all went tits up for them after they left. Imo, only Cole can say he had an overall success after he left. The others had temporary success but faded.

was I sad to see Sagna and Clichy go??? nope and those who know me and remember I used to write about letting them leave. And Song as well. I rated Bellerin far above Sagna, even a year ago.

those who left just embody failure. Thank God we punched a bit above our weight.
