Two Strikers Arsenal bound? What's all the fuss about Jack & Ozil, well he's just loving life and football…..

Morning all.

Aaron Ramsey passed a fitness test yesterday and will be playing for Wales, in fact he’s captain again so expect him to play in both fixtures. I’d rather hoped he fail his fitness test, return back to Arsenal, be fit for next weekend and of course, well rested.

Talking of injuries, Laurent Koscielny is rumoured to be injured and will miss the match between France and Australia with a thigh strain which we can only hope isn’t too serious.

Jack Wilshere seems to have upset a few with his comment about Adnan Januzaj. I don’t see what all the fuss is about really, he was asked the question and all he did was answer it. If the press/media don’t like his view, well don’t ask such a controversial question in the first place.

Of course there will be many who agree with Jack and equally there will be many who disagree but at the end of the day, it won’t be they or Jack Wilshere who decides  whether or not Januzaj will be eligible for England.

I’d say there are more pressing issues regarding the England football side right now and the press/media should focus on those.

Oh, and why are people worrying about Januzaj, who apart from scoring twice last weekend, has done little to hit the headlines? I’m sure there are many young Englishman who might think they should be next in line for a call up, maybe then a few of the ageing current side could retire gracefully.

England might start to look like a half decent side then……

Rumours are going around this morning suggesting that Jack Wilshere will not be part of the England squad for tonight. Some suggest he’s been dropped, others say he’s ‘ill’.

Staying with the internationals, Mesut Ozil is set to make his 50th appearance Germany tonight. Hard to believe he’s only 24 years old. He’s been talking at life in London and more importantly, at Arsenal. It’s quite clear that Mesut isn’t a player who has needed much time to settle into either a new country or a fast, hard and furious Premier League, something which attributes to the manager and players alike:

I feel great in London, the coach gives me the trust, the team is fully behind me and I feel very, very well there.

I can only say that [Wenger] is a great coach who knows exactly what he wants and has a clear vision. We need a coach like that if we want to be successful.

London is an interesting city to live in. I have grown to love this place in such a short space of time.

Clearly his previous club were all bitter and twisted after they sold him to us as both Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez have criticised the player quite publicly.   Both suggested that he couldn’t handle playing in the ‘pressure-cooker environment’ at the Santiago Bernabeu.

What utter poppycock and Ozil was quick to poor cold water on the fire those in Madrid were trying to fan:

If you look at my statistics and how many games I played there then you can see how professional I was. I had three great years in Madrid and that is all I will say.

He hasn’t started to bad for us either has he and I strongly suspect those ‘games played, goals scored and assists’ statistics will better those he left behind in Spain….

Transfer gossip:

The Mirror have a story on Fernando Llorente who might be available on loan in January as he’s not getting in the Juventus side in a season when he needs to be playing in order to get selected by Spain for the World Cup. It makes sense of course for them to link us with the player as we desperately need a striker in January but will that player be Llorente? Well, The Daily Mail reports that a move to us has already been discussed, so who knows….

Talking of strikers, according to respected Sky Italia journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio Chelsea and Arsenal are locked in battle for the signature of highly-rated Barcelona striker Toni Sanabria. The 17-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects at La Masia, and had been linked with a move to Italy, with Serie ‘A’ side Udinese.

That’s your lot for Friday, have a good day folks…

just calm down everybody..d league is ours simply bcos our lost would b a draw and our draw would b wins….we dont need a 50millie striker..just give sanogo d confidence and dat crazy akpom the chance..take a look at draxler, ramsey, young rooney, messi, pogba, ronaldo, and young henry thiery….they were all given d chance and they’ve been proving themselvez…….so calm down and think this thoroughly…greetingz frm an angel..mwahahahahahaha

  3. jookz says:

Llorente for me is a no no, I’d rather we sign a world class and he start gettin used to ow we play. He isn’t bad though. For me Wishere said it right I’ll say the same

  4. rico says:

angel, what are you smoking? 😉

Same here jookz, but if we can’t get that player in Jan, as a temp striker to see us through to the summer, maybe Llorente be ok?

  5. Andy says:

Don’t really understand all this Januzaj business, has no connection to England other than living here for a couple of years.. he scores 2 goals and the press are all over it ? wtf

  6. angel may says:

am smoking d ‘truth’. Imagine pogba still being benched at united, imagine januzaj being at manure reserve team they would hav lost to giacherrini and co, imagine ramsey being loan out to cardiff bcos of his rough times, imagine saf didnt give a chance to cantona, imagine if wenger had banished henry bcos he failed to score in his first ten games, imagine if wenger had not give RIP a chance despite so many years of injury.. Mad rooney broke up d invincible forces at the age of 18…i trust in sanogo and akpom…they can lead us to glory with d help of oliver g.string..greetingz frm an angel….mwahahahaha

  7. allezkev says:

    Morning Adam…

Llorente, on loan as back-up to Giroud, yeah Rico, I’d take him.

See how he goes and then maybe make Jhve an offer in the summer for him..
At 28 he’s not gonna be a long-term blocked to the likes of Akpom/Sanogo/Lipman…

  8. Tim says:

I think we should bring a centre half adil rami or kurt zuma then go for alexis sanchez or marcos reus..as for the jack wilshere soap opera I think the media overspiced the whole story and they should give the kid a break,he was just being patriotic.

  9. allezkev says:

Yeah, I think so Rico, he has a good scoring record in LaLiga…

Take him on loan for his wages and see…

If he turns out another Baptista, just send him back…

  10. Adam says:

It was very nice thank you Rico. Lots of cyclists, very tall women, pouting lips, coffee shops, expensive (but good) restaurants, chips with mayonnaise, museums, vintage guitar shops and exceptionally great bread. Oh and the superb Van Gogh Museum. I said hello to Pat Rice at London City Airport too.

  11. rico says:

Win win in that situation Kev..

You back home now Adam? I recall the folk being very tall when I was in Holland a few years back. Pat Rice eh, how’s his knees these days 😉

  12. rico says:

Welcome Tim, sorry for the delay in letting you out of moderation. Totally agree re Jack. Many here would love to see Reus snapped up. Draxler is another..

  13. Joaquim Moreira says:

Lorente was a very good player but nowadays I don’t know.
For me, was better then Torres but maybe both suffer from the same syndrome.
And Bendtner? 😉 he said he grew up (a lot) and he is ready for help Arsenal (in what?)
For starting, in WBA he was not very lucky (twice). But there are always another opportunity (maybe with Denmark)

  14. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, but the time never comes back. Today they haven’t the same speed, agility, impulsion, age, rapid execution, etc, and both were injury for a long time

  15. BrainwashedKev says:

Maybe Llorente, like quite a few ‘has beens’ and ‘failures’ in the past, would benefit from a bit of Wenger TLC, and rediscover his mojo…???

  16. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Hello, rico, Adam, Kev, JM! How is everyone?

Good write up on a nothing day. Happy to hear Ozil is adapting well. As for Madrid, everything that comes from the mouth of management just smacks of bitterness.

  17. rico says:

Tim, Lewandowski has confirmed he’s joining Bayern next summer…

Hi agag, thanks, it gets more difficult as the days pass…

Kev, another good point, right club and manager, they could hit peak form again..

  18. potter says:

BTW 12.18 , they do muck spread , both on the fields and behind closed doors or even the local pub. I was referring to the other implied substance which if used to burn off the stubble might make the collared doves and seagulls more fun to watch.

  19. rico says:

Hard to tell agag, there’s a really strong wind which makes it feel a lot colder. It’s quite dark too and raining 🙁
