Two players linked on show today & Theo looks forward to Asia…

Matías Ezequiel Suárez – plays for Anderlecht as a winger/forward – he’s been linked with us since the last transfer window. In fact some have suggested that he signed a pre-contract agreement back in January.

Then there is Southamptons Luke Shaw – we all know Arsene Wenger likes to sign a younger player each summer and of late that player has come from Southampton.

Actually, make that three as I have just been reminded that Lucas Biglia is on show too later today for Anderlecht.

Luke Shaw has been linked with us for a while now but his current manager says that he is not for sale. However, we all know that any club will sell any player, IF the price is right.

After all, aren’t we living proof of that?

As said, today kicks off our pre-season and a relatively young squad will be travelling to St Marys, here are just a few that have been confirmed on the official website:

Gervinho

Djourou

Chamakh

Santos

Gibbs

Bartley

Mannone

Lansbury

Ebecilio

Olsson

Eisfield

None of those who participated in the Euros are back training yet, so they won’t be involved so Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott will not return to their old club which is a shame but the latter has spoken about the up and coming tour to Asia:

I am dead excited – it is great to see the fans, it means a lot to them because they never really get to see us in person.

As players we get to see a different side to the game, seeing fans who may never be able to come to Emirates. It makes their dreams come true and that is what we want to do.

There is more from his interview here if you are interested but Theo doesn’t sound like a player looking to up sticks and move clubs. I know some wish he would, but I’m not one of them.

That’s about it, there really is little news to write about other than Afellay and Ganso are attracting interest from Arsenal apparently and the latest defensive midfielder linked to us is Tony Jantschke who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Rumours eh, have to love them, just don’t believe them……

Have a good day all, enjoy the footie if you are going/watching…

Haha..we linked him yesterday..lol..btw m looking forward to see Ebecilio Olsson Eisfield. I think at least 2 of 3 will make it with us. So where can we see it?

  2. Gooner Sam says:

Nice post Rico. I think Lucas Biglia from Anderlect is also playing who we are keeping an eye on. Without sounding negative I think transfer wise thats put lot.

  3. Matty says:

Ohhhhh whats the suarez story??? RICO WHAT HAVE I SAID ABOUT THIS FROM DAY ONE?? HAHA if this pulls off im just too dam good 🙂

  4. rico says:

Thanks and good point Sam, I’m not a fan of Biglia, maybe thats why i forgot him 😉

Matty, you and a couple of others I think re Suarez…

@satan u r d reason arsenal hasn’t won a trophy in d last 7yrs…change ur friggin username OR stop supporting arsenal!

  7. rico says:

    Tedious leye….

Sorry Matty, no, but, you never know, it’s all gone very quiet re M’Vila/Capoue too – think most players involved in Euros are still on holiday, maybe after Monday we’ll see a bit of news, IF of course AW is looking to sign more players…

  8. Potter says:

It will be the period between this weekends run out and the trip to the far east that will define if there is to be further action in the market.

  9. rico says:

    Capoue for me too

Potter – think you could be right and I don’t expect to see RvP travel to Asia either, not unless he does a u-turn…

  10. rico says:

    Hi John,

don’t know, I am guessing he will travel if he’s been training but no mention of him on the official site..

  11. JonJon says:

    good moaning 🙂

hello ricolicious, good lively post..lots of news with a slight hint of rico, always make a good read..

technically gansos as class act, physically? i dont know, seems slow to me..

does anyone know when these comments from theo are dated?

and i wouldnt expect any in coming signings, theyve been made, the priority now is getting players to sign contracts.. and then we’ll see whats left..

regarding mvilla and capoue, either are plausible, weve been watching both for years, but if theres a player to look out for its sissoko..

  12. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all, nice one Madam.
Good to hear that Bartley is getting played i have high hopes for that young man. When you look at some of our youngsters you start thinking that its about time they were seen more, always talk of this defender or that midfielder joining and what we need, but when you look at who we have makes me wonder why we keep masking for new faces, at the end of the day how many supporters knew to much about Podolski and Giroud they know a bit more since the Euro’s but not enough to show me why we brought them. Many supporters were asking for a couple of decent players to be brought in at the end of last season, but now we have a couple many are still asking for more we can never seem to get the balance right and were also never happy with our lot. Many have jeered Walcott but as soon as theres talk of him leaving fans call him names its like what one of the Presidents said :You can please some of the Gooners some of the time but never all of them. or word to that effect. Personally i feel we have a good squad Van the Man may be off but he’s knocking on a bit now and whats the chance of another season like his last, if he has doubts get the best price for him now.

  13. JonJon says:

i was worried theo maybe leaving with rvp..
but those comments give hope.. as well as seeing him in the kit.
    which is horrid..

  14. Adam says:

God morning Rico and all at the good ship HH. Actually, if you could see the rain here in London, ship is an apt description. I have only seen Suarez on You Tube and he looks extraordinary. Fast, powerful and a great finisher. The sort that will be Real Madrid bound very shortly. As with all things Arsenal and through the gritted teeth of bitter experience, if it seems too good to be true, then it usually is. But hey, this is a Saturday morning and all things seem possible (he said, reaching for a tissue to dry his lacrimose eye). But I do feel that the coming season is going to be crucial in more ways than one. When Gazidis mouthed off about Usmanov bringing disharmony to the board if offered a seat, he invited R&W to respond, as I believe they were entitled to. He opened the door for them to publish their manifesto for the future of our club and it wasn’t a blueprint for bankruptcy as so many have erroneously suggested, but rather a plan to back the manager and club toward on-field success and all the off-field benefits that will bring. In other words, the ball is in Stan’s court now.

  15. rico says:

Morning Steve – the main one i think we need and of course its only my view, is a DM – anything after that is a bonus..

I see AW is going to try and persuade RvP to change his mind next week when he returns from hols, if he doesn’t he’ll be sold asap… according to the Daily fail of course 😉

  16. rico says:

    Morning Adam..

Have the rain here too, it truly is horrid…..

I think we’ll be waiting a long time for a response from Stanley….

  17. rico says:

Annoyingly, I have to pop off for an hour or so, hopefully catch you all later….

I have my canoe and oars all ready to set sail along the roads …

  18. JonJon says:

    no. hes shit..
theres a lad called sissoko who plays for toulouse, with capoue

capoues more all out defensive mid…

    sissoko box to box..duracell bunny

mvillas probably the best but hes pricey and a plank..
the other two are good shouts but sissokos the one that fits the system..

    the again, theres always coquelin..

  19. Adam says:

You may be right Rico. But Ivan is Stan’s representative on Earth and the fans will let him and the club know soon enough. I don’t buy into the fact that he can remain aloof from what is going on as the share price value will suffer. R&W say they are in for the long haul. They might need to be but, as we know, everything follows from success on the pitch. I have a sneaky feeling that something might develop sooner rather than later. Stan selling would herald a revolution at our club.

  20. Joaquim Moreira says:

I’ve been at the beach so the only news I have were from yesterday: the liverpool new sign, Maxi out from Liverpoll, the new signs to PSG… and the front page of a spanish newspaper with big title about Tottenham: they want Adrian.from A.Madrid if Real Madrid buy Modric.
Now I’m going to read the newspapers. Few friendly games this weekens but some League were starting yesterday (ex: Switzerland)

  21. Satan says:

    Hey Rico,

Was talking about Suarez and Shaw. When we linked them to us yesterday in HH. Remember?

Btw what’s the score? Anyone watching it live?

  22. Satan to Saint says:

Sorry leye id I am the reason we haven’t one a trophy in 7 years.

As you asked, I have obliged.

Btw does this mean I support Saints now?

  23. rico says:

    Hasn’t started yet satan…

Adam – I think you are right also, the fans will certainly make it very clear to Mr Gazidis just what they think if we start the season with the squad we have right now, minus RvP and Theo….

  24. Satan to Saint says:

    @Joaquim

I heard even more depressing news: Sahin to Spurs for Modric and they’d pay few millions as well.

  25. JonJon says:

we dont just want him to stay, we need him to stay…
hes taking on the top brass at the club and its about time someone did, so we’ll see how it unfolds, but i think weve got one more year whatever happens..

    theos the biggest worry..

i think so anyway..that was until i saw these comments..interesting to say the least..

  26. rico says:

Can’t see him staying now though jj – sadly..

Seems some fans think he has disgraced the club with his comments but for me he has only said what most of us feel…

I’d be gutted if we lose him and Theo…

  27. JonJon says:

    thats just the thing rico..
the fans that have been slagging the board for disrespecting the club for years are now slagging rvp for saying the same things theyve been saying….

    hypocrites..

its not nice when a player tells it how it is, but this isnt just one player, rvp is just next on the long list of players who have left for same reasons, and not just players, captains..we face losing two captains two years on the trot..

are all the players wrong?? i think not..

last year we had a strikeforce of

    ————cesc
    theo——-rvp——–nasri

if theyve all gone in the space of 12 months then its the fucking board who have to explain their actions, not the players..

  28. Joaquim Moreira says:

comments in Facebook today: (?) rumours:
(Fran) EL ARSENAL PRESENTÒ UNA OFERTA POR DEMPSEY .

    a) Arsenal makes a offer for Dempsey
    b) M’ villa will sign for Arsenal after comming foe his holydays on the 16th
c)Anzhy offers 40 millions euros for RVP
    d) RVP deal will be solve in next 72 hours
    e) Media says: AW wants Ganso a lot and others, Ganso is becomming an Ansenal player yet

    So… unbelieve!

  29. JonJon says:

    im still unsure..

i think having them both at the club is the problem..
stans not going to sanction anything while usmanov can take the club off him and usmanov aint going to invest in a club he doesnt own..
so you get a stand off..until one of them makes a move..

stan needs to be the one showing the intent at this crossroads, he has control, but if we have a repeat of last summer then heads must roll im afraid..

im not a fan of usmanov either but as it stands hes probably the only one who can afford to buy the club, and id rather take my chances with someone who is actually a billionaire and not someone whos just married to one..

stan bought this club with IOU’s..its a massive worry, especially when you see players leaving in droves..

it depends on this summer but yeah i think it could be well a case of go team usmanov cos stans looking a little out of his depth..

  30. rico says:

Personally, I don’t think it will be too long before R&W will get their 30% and then make an offer – it was clear in that letter that they are going nowhere and plan to keep our club in the family for years to come..

If Stan doesn’t allow/force AW to make the right changes this summer, the terraces will speak in volumes. Fans will turn big time and that will suit R&W..

ST sales have gone down I read the other day on a different blog and letters are being sent out to those on the waiting list… One or two of which have been on that list for not too long.

Things are changing and fans aren’t happy already….

    Come on down Mr Usmanov….

  31. rico says:

I wouldn’t mind the Dempsey and M’Vila rumours being true though JM …

Of course though, media, one day they might get it right 😉

  32. Potter says:

All it has done is highlight the split in the fans , many of us have been critical of the board and welcome Usmanov’s follow up to Van Persie because it has bought the thing to a head. Others see it as a great act of betrayal and like to keep a quiet life and are content with the way things are going. It is an argument which rages on other forums , both sides have their merits but it’s a middle path that we need to follow.

  33. rico says:

Trouble is Potter, the two major shareholders don’t speak to each other and until they do, it’s always going to be a tad hostile.

I can’t ever see the two working together so something has to change. The ball right now sits firmly in SK’s court, either he changes and directs AW to change too, AU will just bide his time and then make his move…

All depends on what SK really wants from AFC… and if it’s only about making money, the sooner he goes the better….

  34. JonJon says:

    personally..
i think stans going to hold out until he gets those sponsers renewed in 2 years..

usmanov being around means the clubs shares are worth a billion, how much are those shares going to be worth when the debts guaranteed by the cash reserves and we renew the sponsers..?

lets face it, liverpool are shite and theyve managed to broker a sponser deal that eclipses man utds..so us not winning a trophy wont stop our 2014 deals from being bumper..

stans going to sell up as soon as hes maximised the clubs potential..and the chances are it will be usmanov he sells to…

2014’s the year..it just depends if we have a team left by then..
for that reason, id rather usmanov come now..

but we’ll know more after this summer..

  35. Adam says:

Sponsorship deals are likely to grow or shrink depending on the team’s success or otherwise over the next few years. If Wenger went to Stan and asked for £30 million for a player that could make the difference I wonder if he’d get it? Whether he would actually do such a thing is of course another question.

  36. Potter says:

Totally agree , that’s why I have held back on the invective for RVP , I think he is as frustrated as all of us. I am more concerned however with this Adebayor deal to Spurs £ 5 million with City paying some of his wages. Freeing up a spot to go for RVP. Seems like we dip out all ways round.

  37. rico says:

By the time they need renewing JJ, we could be out of the top four and the top deals wouldn’t come our way – if SK wants to make money, invest a bit first and we’ll be more successful, that will bring in money…

  38. Adam says:

I can’t see that the Adebayor-type deal should be allowed. Seems to me that this constitutes an unfair advantage to Man City.

  39. NashuaGunners says:

I do believe that the Board Members are the happier bunch. Their salaries are unshakable while the fans are unhappy. I can imagine how frustrated AW is when every year his best players had to leave with the same excuses of not showing ambition. Fans have to disrespect him in front of the whole world because they think he doesn’t know what he is doing. I say bring AU on board and let Arsenal compete once again. It’s a shame for a club as big as Arsenal to get a player from Chelsea on loan. PHW “… is not as if we have been relegated.” That alone tells you that he is convenient with 3rd or 4th. position. We can’t even compete with other clubs for players anymore.

  40. JonJon says:

    rico
    it wont matter
its the cash reserves that make the club worth what it is….
we have our own money, but stan wont sanction it becuase it technically means the clubs debt free and it dilutes his share price..
its why he wont let usmanov invest, it dilutes his shares and dont believe usmanov about investing, why are you going to invest in something that belongs to someone else? he’d have to be a retard..
    its a stalemate…
stans making the club run tickety boo financially without usmanov, without silverware..
if he drops out of top 4? he’ll just sell more players…
and hes only got 2 years left so he wont give a shit where we are in the league, the sponsers will probably be in place by then…theres rumours we are already talking to adidas now..

dont worry, arsenal are a global brand now, those deals will still come, trophies, top 4, it wont matter..

stans onto a winner and we will know what his intentions truly are in about 6 weeks..

  41. Simon Templar aka AK says:

    So, it’s all Satan’s fault we’ve won nothing for 7 years…
    I thought as much…
Always had a feeling there was something dodgy about that Satan.
    Think it was his tail….

Anyway, hope Olsson gets a run out today.
Gnarby is another one to watch.
The vibes from the club are that these kids are a bit special.

  42. JonJon says:

deals like adebayor have been going on years
its only highlighted now becuase of the money involved and everyones jumping on the bandwagon

but its been the case for years where teams will pay a player off the rest of his contract just to get shut of him…

maybe if we did it we’d have a lot less players than 75 or whatever it is and we’d be able to get rid of players like chamakh and squilaci..

  43. rico says:

I don’t think he would Adam, I truly believe that AW wouldn’t spend £30M on one player, he’d sell for that amount though….

  44. rico says:

Stinks Adam, they shouldn’t be allowed to continue paying some of his wages just to get rid of him…

Just why we can’t get rid of many of ours, but no way would our club agree such a thing i’m sure…

  45. Adam says:

JJ. Can’t agree with much of that. It’s the stadium, TV money and the CL participation that makes the club worth so much because it is closely tied to future revenues, not cash reserves. As for Usmanov investing in something he doesn’t own? I very much doubt that a man worth close to £20 billion is a retard. But he does own 30% of the club but has no input. And Arsenal don’t operate in a vacuum so there are other clubs who will move into our place if we slip down the league. There is absolutely no room for complacency here.

  46. NashuaGunners says:

Why do AFC have to go for players from other clubs that are deem surplus to requirement? Don’t get me wrong, Ben was a good player , but to Chelsea. What next, De Jong from ManCity on loan?

  47. rico says:

jj – i don’t know enough about what goes on with the money etc, but i sure know that if i was a huge successful company looking to sponsor a football team, AFC would NOT be the one I’d choose right now…

  48. rico says:

Hi NG – because we are tight….

Adam – oh yes, FFP will certainly change the way of football, and that’s when every club will stop spending vast amounts, apart from us because we are so perfect…. 😉

  49. JonJon says:

why do you think transfers are becoming more and more undisclosed..
because players and agents take a slice with loyalty bonuses and contract fees and subsidies and in the end the transfer looks bollox..so clubs keep it close to their chest..

    it happens all the time..

mancity have just done it with adebayor, only mancity have the cash not to give a shit and they are quite open about it…

if only more people knew that henry took 10mil of our money with him to barca..

in one way or another, it happens..has done for ages, its not just a sugar daddy thing..

its the agents, thats who it is, at the end of the day.. blame those prats..

  50. Adam says:

In theory I suppose Man City could buy the 100 best players in the world, pick the best, then loan the others out throughout the PL and pay their wages but with a clause that they can’t play against City, only every other team. Two pence on each litre of petrol would probably cover it nicely.

  51. Simon Templar aka AK says:

Kroneke doesn’t a toss about the club, except for the windfall he expects to make from it.
He has zero interest in football.
He rarely visits to watch a match.
And this is the guy all the bleeding-heart liberals want owning our club.
Ursmanov is an a rapist, it’s claimed, some kinda animal from the East.
But those same Guardianistas are quite comfortable with Hill-Wood doing deals with shadey Russians.

  52. rico says:

😆 Adam, you are in a good mood this afternoon….

AK, I don’t get all this stuff that some go on about AU, hasn’t everyone got a history? In an ideal world neither he or Stan would own us but that’s the way it has gone and I’d rather we weren’t owned by someone who puts his own interests above those of our club and us fans…

  53. Adam says:

Yes I am in a decent mood Rico. I had a good chat via mail with a friend earlier. But my mood could change. A bit like the weather in fact. 🙂

  54. NashuaGunners says:

    Hi Rico and all.

If we are waiting for FFP to support clubs like AFC then Mancity and Chelsea are laughing in the background. They may have already found the lope hole around it. Say bring AU in, he loves Arsenal and have interest in football.

  55. JonJon says:

    adam
those things you just mentioned are the reasons our reserves are so high..everything thats makes money is the potential..theres no potential in cash resverves you already have, becuase you already have it..

also, cl, TV, and the grove only gets the club to break even..selling players and property for the passed 7 years has made us our profits..

its got to the point where even PHW and IG both said last year that we were financially stable without CL for a year or two

you dont have that luxury if your resverves arent brimming with cash..but its stays were it is because it covers the mortgage and makes us debt free, and thats good for share price..

this clubs potential is almost realised..commercial deals is all we have left to improve and like i said, liverpool have proved you dont have to be in top 4 to get higher deals than UTD..

its who you know, isnt it..more than a case of what you win..

  56. Satan to Saint says:

    Just read Poldi interview..

‘He lives and dies by his own ideas and Arsenal is his baby. His reputation has been built on improving players and if he can help me take my game up a notch or two I’ll be delighted.”

Woww..I wish I can be that committed to my work.

    @Simon

Its not my tail, its my vampire teeth and horns. It gives nightmares to people. Just ask Abou about it.

  57. Adam says:

JJ. I don’t believe that, after our expenses, our reserves are that high. And we are nowhere near debt free as I understand it. But, let’s not quibble on such a lovely afternoon.:)

  58. Satan to Saint says:

    JJ

I still hope RvP stays and finishes his career here. I hope he would. I am very much sure with whom around we’d win trophy soon.

  59. JonJon says:

    AK
theres not a billionaire out there who hasnt been a nasty pasty at some point of time or another..its how they get to be a billionaire..

for example, and god rest his soul, but DF made his money from diamonds before he got into football…

    yes diamonds

    i’ll say no more..

  60. Satan to Saint says:

    @Adam

One of the reason I wish AU gets a seat on the board. I am not saying he owns the club but gets a seat on the board. With him on the board and checking out accounts with his army of auditors, we’d surely know how well club is run and also if there is need for more transparency or not.

  61. JonJon says:

    adam
check the financial report when it comes out..
you be shocked how high our reserves are and they grow about 20mil each year..

when we sell property it tends to grow bigger, like in 2010 when we sold highbury, we announced 55mil pre tax profits and then we got a 5 mil rebate so we made 60mil

where’d it go? cos it didnt go in the team..

satan..rvp will stay for one more year if stans not a retard..
after that, dont know, dont care..but as far as im concerned hes got one more year left and hes the type of player where one more year could be all it needs..

it would be better if he signed though for a few more years..

  62. Charlie George aka AK says:

JJ, that’s it exactely. You do not become a billionaire by being nice & cuddly.
If so, then Rico would be a billionaire. 😆

  63. rico says:

NG – FFP is a load of old b****x, as you say, there will be gaping holes everywhere and they will be exploited…

  64. NashuaGunners says:

With AU is about pride. He wants Arsenal to compete with the likes of Chelsea. I don’t think for a second that AU wants to use Arsenal to make a profit. My only concern is that he does not become like Chelsea’s owner, one man one voice.

  65. Satan to Saint says:

    @JJ

In my short career, what I believe is Non Profit Organisations like Arsenal’s Financial stability should not be checked with Profits but with Cash flows.

Cash flows would show you how much net operating cash flow you have and based on that how much you can use it. If to get positive cash flow borrowed funds are used then you know the club is in trouble.

Profit is not the required parameter for Non-Profit Organisation.

  66. rico says:

Kev – I too hope RvP does a u-turn and stays, just as DB did, but reality is, if he doesn’t believe that what is going on is best for him and the fans, no amount of money will convince him to stay imho…

It was an easy decision for DB to sign his one year contract each season, look who was in the same squad.

The only way he will stay imho is one of two things –

    1) we don’t get the huge offer that SK/AW expect to get, or

    2) SK/AW grow a pair and make the right kind of signings to show we mean the business this season…

Funny how no offers have been tabled for our captain yet though….

  67. rico says:

Kev – you big softie 😉

    NG – agree re AU…

JM – that rumour is seriously gathering pace, but, would AW pay that amount on one player? He’d happily sell for that amount but just can’t see him spending that kind of money…

  68. rico says:

AU doesn’t need to make a profit, I am sure he could afford a few players by just using the interest he makes on his fortunes 🙂

  69. JonJon says:

    well thats just it satan

the important thing to remember is we only break even if we qualify for CL..
phw said last year when it looked like not being a good year, that we had enough not to worry for a year or two, we were prepared..

and im sure he wasnt takling about a loan

like i say the reserves only tend to grow if we sell property and have a high number of high profile names leave..

and in the passed 7 years, theres been alot of property and players sold..

i cant wait for this years report to come out..our commercial revenues havent moved for three years, it seems we are paying our commercial team to sit and wait for 2014..

That is why I think SK should make a sound business decision and issue right up to 10% rights at the highest price possible. AU is desperate to get more shares and he’d surely buy them. Tat will take up his stake to 40% which will mean SK will still have hold on AFC and will get money to pump in.

Win-Win situation. John Nash would be proud of that. Wouldn’t he?

  71. JonJon says:

as for seeing it as a non profit organisation, it depends what side of the fence you sit on..

but you dont need to take profits when you own something worth a billion, you could save it all up in the clubs name, highering the share price and then bang, sell it..

you make your profit at the end..

the last board did it, they took out a loan in the clubs name, built a superclub, sold it, made profits from a loan still being paid off by the club..

amazing business skills. its not like they made a non profit..

stans on the same gameplan..took out a loan, bought the club. sit back and watch its worth grow, double his investment when he sells up..

    easy

but what happens to the team while all this is going on??

  72. NashuaGunners says:

@Satan to Saint, what the benefit of having operating cash flow in Reserve when missing key pieces of your assets or raw materials in your day to day operation of your business? That cash in Reserve in use will maximises profit?

  73. rico says:

But he won’t Kev – he despises the man and all he represents surely, otherwise why not get together and sort this stuff out.

The only ‘thing’ that is suffering because of it, is the team/squad – and of course the fans…

  74. frednerk says:

Dennis took a pay-cut the last 2 seasons he played for us,

    Rvp’s Mrs..11th May 2012:
We have been in London for eight years now. As a family, we love it here. Arsenal believed in Robin when he was young and when he was considered as a bit of a rebel. We don’t want to upset things at home either. Our kids, Shaqueel & Dina, go to school here in London. And they are just as happy as we are. We have to make some decisions at some point but it is not just about Robin. He also thinks about us, his children and me. I also love it that everyone at Arsenal respects him. At the training ground, at the stadium, his teammates, the fans

  75. Satan to Saint says:

    @NG

Mate, reserves are created out of profits and not out of cash except for its a sinking fund where we keep aside some money or cash reserve itself. Other than most reserves are out of profits and not out of cash. There are many times that business show profits, we transfer amount to reserves but within that there is no cash movement. I mean physical cash movement. So reserves are at times just rubbish. Its a great tool to manipulate stakeholders. And the best way of it is announcing bonus shares of those free reserves where by there is no movement of cash and such reserves will be converted into Eq. shares and the business will be able to dilute equity and even shareholders will be happy with that.

  76. frednerk says:

Part of the agreement for the new stadium, the banks stipulated that the income from the turnstyles should in part be used to strengthen the team…as far as I know the money has gone to,up the players wages rather than new players…Do you agree…I’am I right?

  77. JonJon says:

i have to say that satans onto something there..
i hear you bro you know your jazz

but the shareholders dont get along, they want eachother out, they wont work together so i dont think any rights issue or release of equilty will happen..

adams on the right track as well but it seems that he agrees with it because ffp will level it out..

im sure you dont want to hear what i say on that 🙂 but for the record buddy, it wont work.. sorry 🙁

  78. rico says:

Exactly jj, what does happen to the team?

Well, the answer to that is simple, it suffers and it has been for 5/6 years now and until AU or another very wealthy group/person buys us outright, nothing is going to change….

  79. rico says:

You are right fred, the stadium was built so that we could ‘compete’ with the big clubs….

Someone was not exactly truthing when they made that statement….

  80. rico says:

fred – Mrs RvP wants to stay, she wants him to stay, imho there is more to this statement made by our captain than meets the eye…

  81. JonJon says:

    frenerk
the story is that 75% of any proceeds from transfers have to go back into the team, yes it was part of the agreement with the bank..

and yes weve got around it by spending our money on wages for our academy players and weve wasted alot of it..

for the record though i think weve made good transfers and its not players coming in thats the problem, its keeping them thats the problem and that boils down to the shit wages we pay them in comparison to others, not just chelsea or mancity..

we have to stop giving silly wages to the players whove only played 2 games for the club and give better wages to our key boys to keep them i feel..

its upto stan to authorise the release of funds to tie the first teamers down becuase if AW has to rely on the money classed as cash flow, we end up in a situation where hes handing out 17 deals to players who arent even first teamers becuase he cant afford to keep the big boys..

thats what im looking for this summer…

if we are offering contracts to players already here then good, no problem with that whatsoever..but it needs to be the actual first team..

  82. E.kizito says:

7 yrs 0-cup, evry season good players going, ful of averag players attracting no business etc etc. Do u need to do m&e 2 understand afc is in a wrong directn? I luv those who expose wrong things theirs is Gods kingdom, if u pay 4 a game n u loose y do u walk away b4 the last minut? Stan has to understand we ar all doing business n ours is simple ”happyness business”, less of that i request ars faithfuls to end the stress by offically allowing u, ur board and aw to continue the watching. Vp is our advocate amidst the stress, others tried n didnt make it, iam by ur side n the blind wil see wen u deliver them plz Vp dont give up the job

  83. NashuaGunners says:

@JJ, what do we expect when PHW had all the people in the Board who he disagreed with to leave? People like DD?

He brought people in that he had worked with before in the past in other Ventures and those that can yes to him without challenge.

  84. JonJon says:

    NG
actually. PHW had nothing to do with it, hes just a spokesperson and he only had something like 4% shares to sell..

he wasnt the one booting everyone out..i think it was fizmann

DD kicked himself out, hes the actual reason both kse and r+w are here now..although i understand why he did what he did and it doesnt stop me from thinking theres still a seat for him on the board somewhere..

but yeah phw and the rest need to go now as well, they sold up, me or you have as much say in this club as what they do so goodbye..

  85. frednerk says:

    Rico…Rvp’s a brave lad…I don’t mind a tear-up with a geezer but not the wife O,no.

When GG was in charge the players wages were increased ie: based on winning…surely thats the way,we should be handling this problem.if a player thinks is any good/confident.its gotterbe the only way to solve this build up of players on the bank roll..or why notput players on a rolling contract..1st then increase year on..what about that lads.

  86. rico says:

JJ – i’m not sure about that, did you see the i/v with PHW after DD left – he was simply so rude and arrogant…

  87. rico says:

”When was the last occasion he saw Dein? “The day I fired him.”

Was it Hill-Wood’s saddest day at Arsenal? “No. It was the saddest for Dein.”

Will he ever make his peace? “I will not get involved with him again – I will avoid it if I can help it.””…

  88. JonJon says:

    maybe he did rico..
but maybe it was fizsmans descision? a hint of KF as well? thats what im saying im not sure who it was but im not sure PHW had the authority to just start sacking people…

DD had a majority stake with fiszman and i think they all teamed up to boot him to to be honest.. nobody had the power to take him out alone..

he probably was the one who gave him his orders though..i can agree to that..

  89. rico says:

maybe jj, we’ll never know for sure but same as you, PHW has had his day, he has become embarrassing with his little stories for The Daily Star – just not long ago he spouted off about RvP not being sold…

lee said that day is was the kiss of death.

    Next day, RvP’s statement….

  90. rico says:

Arsenal: Martinez, Boateng, Miquel, Yennaris, Watt, Eastmond, Eisfeld, Lansbury, Jenkinson, Gibbs (c), Chamakh.

  91. goonster says:

i have huge faith in this guy…he ll come good eventually. him and diaby are the players to watch for next season. COYFGS……and oh evening good people.

  92. Charlie George aka AK says:

    Hiya Stan.
    So Arsenal won the cup.
Lansbury & Gervinho got the goals.
The penalty shoot-out didn’t affect the overall result.

  93. goonster says:

i have a good feeling about this season lee….the league is a long shot but i fancy our chances with the cups. fortune’s got to smile on us pretty soon……so why not now!

  94. Lee says:

I read somewhere that he was as important to Lille as hazard was….give the guy a break, I’m with you I think he’ll come good!

  95. goonster says:

lee in his final season with lille he was the star of the team…i think he garnered like 19 goals and 21 assists. cant really remember now but he was that hiuge…..am with you give him a chance.

  96. Lee says:

We’ve still Jack to come back, the ox looks like the real deal, giroud and the pod….just a few more signings and departures!

  97. goonster says:

wow, i forgot all about him. jack wilshere! when is he due back? God if we can ever get our first 11 fit we ll be a handful for any team…..even barca.

  98. Lee says:

I’m not so sure Stan….he must of taken onboard what happened to the Dutch in the euros? At Arsenal he is the main man not a bench warmer or a little fish in a big pond…..

  99. Lee says:

AW has got a strong squad if bould & banfield can help us stop conceding so many goals we’ll be nearly there…..

  100. goonster says:

yeah but that statement came out after the euros lee……robin is gone. according to reports he was seen taking pictures wqith back staff, statues of henry and adams and few fans…..that was after our last home game against norwich. he knew all along he wont be siging a new contract. i think its best we forget him and plan ahead. hopefully giroud and podolski ll hit the ground running….i said hopefully.
