Three out, just one in? Alexis in the naughty corner & Jacks proud of his bond with Arsenal fans…

Morning all.

Back in 1986 and on this very day, Arsenal sold Martin Keown to Aston Villa. Seven years later though, back he came from Everton and truly became an Arsenal legend.

There’s a lot in the newspapers this morning and not all is transfer gossip. Doesn’t mean to say it’snot idle gossip though.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is enjoying himself in sunshine and I bet he’s glad Roy Hodgson left him out of the England squad, especially after that dire performance at the weekend.

Jack Wilshere, one of Englands better players during that game has hit back at the FA for giving him a fine for his FA Cup antics:

I am quite proud of always having had that bond with the Arsenal fans since I was young because I came through the club.

I grew up at Arsenal and I love the fans, but believe it or not, I’ve actually got family who are Tottenham fans so it’s nothing personal against them, it was just a bit of fun.

Anyway, the club are sorting the fine out apparently and that’s that.

Alexis Sanchez also hit’s the headlines this morning. Mischief makers in Chile have said that Alexis had to be separated from a team-mate in a dressing-room brawl! All down to a free-kick apparently as our man wanted to take it instead of designated set-piece taker Marcelo Diaz.

A witness told Chilean newspaper El Mercurio that the two nearly ended in fisticuffs and that captain Gary Medel was among those forced to intervene:

Other team-mates had to get between them so that they didn’t come to blows. Sanchez squared up to Diaz, shouting at him for not giving him the ball.

[Diaz] shouted back; he told him to let everyone else play and not be so greedy.

Furthermore, he chastised Alexis for missing a training session.

Needless to say, Alexis was asked about the little spat after the game:

We’re all good, it was an exchange of opinions, like [the media] loves, it’s normal.

Everything’s sorted, there’s no fight and we are all calm, they’re things that happen in a match.

He’s right, the media love a good story and seldom ruin it by telling the truth….

Talking of which, here’s the transfer gossip:

The Mirror:

Arsene Wenger will make a move for Porto’s Colombian hotshot Jackson Martinez – but only if he can clear the decks first. The Gunners boss is ready to offload Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell this summer.

That would free up cash for a £25m move and a big contract for Martinez who would bolster Arsenal ‘s squad for a Premier League title challenge.

The Times:

Arsenal are considering a move to sign Grzegorz Krychowiak of Sevilla.

The Telegraph:

Petr Cech is hoping to resolve his future quickly at a meeting with Chelsea next week and has admitted to the added complications for him and his family should he move outside of London.

The Metro:

Ok, I won’t…..

Have a good Tuesday guys…

Lee- I see you rate kondogbia. whose place or where will you play him if he was to join us? seeing as AW can’t rotate his squad.

I think his better games have come as a semi- no.10…

Check out Gonalons if you are after a CDM or box to box or better yet Krychowiak

  2. rico says:

    Thanks Ts..

Have to say, these posts get more difficult each day with little going on.. Thank goodness for the Metro… 😉

    Morning again all…

  3. Lee says:

I saw Kondogbia a few times at Sevilla and was fairly impressed with him ( we were linked when he was at Lens, I think?!?)…. he went there for peanuts too. Also he’d add some height to our midfield… Or we put Verratti on a rack and stretch him a few inches?
I think Vidal would be sent off every other week if we signed him…
Then there’s the Schneiderlin option that seems to of gone cold…according to Adam. 😉

AW will need rotate if we want to mount a serious title challenge, we surely can’t have another injury plagued season can we?

  4. Wavy says:

Gregory Chick flick is wanted, presumably to keep Chesney Hawkes company, they can smoke Polish fags together! And Martinez for his imminent pension book cover to be delivered, as they are a bit short of these highly prized binders!
The two stories are absolutely unbelievable! And about as likely as an archeologist turning up Alfred the Great’s burnt cakes! (Don’t know why I wrote that !)
Sorry, morning all. Another nonsensical day on the transfer merry go round?

  5. rico says:

Said similar yesterday – he clearly loves himself and at 33 he isn’t going to change. Our dressing room is good if what the players have said is true, Ibra would soon change that imo….

  6. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Afternoon Lovelies and Hunkies.

    Nice post Rico.

    Cech….Kondogbia/Schneiderlin/Kyrchiowak…..Martinez/Higuiain/Ibrhimovic……

    what about…….Martinez (GK)…..Bielik….Gnabry…..Akpom….Wellington???

someone out of that lot will surely be promoted.

so give them consideration as well.

I would like Cech and Kondogbia………..but would AW???

    time will tell.

  7. rico says:

    Thanks Devil..

Bielik is still very young and very slight, think it’ll be 2/3 years before he breaks into the first team if he proves he’s good enough…

Can’t see Akpom going, nor Gnabry but Wellington is possible…

  8. Adam says:

Brudder. Do not diss the Bleacher Report. They have Hiram T Knobnosher the third as their sports writer and he just lurves soccer.

  9. Wavy says:

Is he one of THE Knobnoshers of the infamous
Domestics dynasty? Who are loosely connected to the Bleachers of Dye Street?
If so its bound to be true! What was the rumour again?

  10. Wavy says:

Stone n Carver sacked by the magies. Not enough hammer and chisel from those two. Hence they have been turned into chippings!
I’m pleased to see Kediera can no longer be linked to us. Never fancied him a poor so man’s Diaby!
Vidal or Pogba to leave? It could be either neither or both………?who knows?

  11. rico says:

    Evening all…

Mg, isn’t Sven Bender the more defensive of the two? I like both myself…

One of Pogba and Vidal must surely be on the move. Wonder if we are going to get one ‘huge’ signing like Pogba – and Cech… Maybe another late in the window….

    It’s good guessing… lol

  12. Adam says:

Rico. I can see that Mourinho would like to spin this whole Cech thing out to Arsenals detriment and irritation. I hope we just go and buy another keeper so Cech has to move oop North which seems like the last thing he wants. Once again it’s all about him and not Cech.
The sycophantic little speech I saw that the slimeball gave about Abramovich was enough to make your skin crawl. I can only wish him the very worst.

  13. allezkev says:

Yeah Adam, I have heard that Lee plays a mean slide guitar and is a devil with his Wah Wah pedal…

    But only after a vape…

  14. allezkev says:

Cech = Demba Ba, Mk II, sadly…

It would be nice, if Arsenal could sign a player who Mourinho really wants…

Alexis Sanchez made a sweet change and really pissed off the Portugese Prick…

  15. rico says:

Kev, I hope Cech puts his foot down and Roman gets involved….

But no way should Arsenal involve a player in any deal, unless it’s Sanogo… Lol

  16. Micko says:

Kev, never thought I’d say it but even Malaga is in the middle of a dry run, it’s that time of the year again !

  17. Lee says:

Kev loves a Bender but unfortunately Bent has signed for the Rams…..
    Good munching Kev?
I agree re the vertically challenged self absorbed cnut….he’ll string the sale of Cech out and pull the plug at the last minute to fuck us up! Lloris? That’d piss off the leg draggers of shite hart lane!!!

  18. tsgh says:

It would be lovely if AFC signed a player who their club wanted to keep for a change by making an offer they couldn’t refuse. I think Arteta and Bellerin were the only ones recently.

    Morning Rico and all

Micko, you know Malaga and rumour mills are struggling when talks of Lars Bender commencing…
Next the airplanes will be taxiing ready to fly Manduzkic and M’Vila over for a medical. 😛

    Samba may even stowaway…

  19. Joe says:

It’s time we put together a transfer window survival plan never visit a story with more than two clubs mentioned.

  20. rico says:

    Morning Ts.

Do they really want to keep Cech though? What Jose says and what’s the truth seldom relate to each other, I reckon he thinks he’s being clever with his games….

  21. Adam says:

Morning Rico. Small men are often perfidious. If Cech did agree to sit on the bench for a year in exchange for not kicking off and having his choice of club after that and Wenger does want him then it could happen. Personally, I am not convinced as to his suitability but then I am in the minority. Another scenario is that Abramovich gives him a huge wedge of money to move abroad.
As we can see already, it’s all about Mourinho again. Do you think he gives a toss what Cech might want?

  22. Joe says:

I heard it’s to make sure he actually gets to north London because he seems to get lost every other time we were supposed to sign him.

  23. tsgh says:

Rico- I think Jose is ‘street-smart’ enough to know he needs a strong no.2 goalie to keep Coutois on top form.

As an example Jose can’t go to Stoke and get Begovic and place him as a no.2; Only a goalie looking for his final hurrah may settle for a place on a bench…

  24. tsgh says:

Plus not convince Cech is currently better than what we have either…; Ospina and Scez are adequate enough if we have enough defensive minded bodies in front of him.

Cech is a big name and even though he did not concede 6 goals in a game on 3 or 4 occasions like Shezzer did 2 seasons ago , they both won the golden glove i.e kept the same number of clean sheets…

The £10m plus £80k+ that might prise Cech away could be the difference between Aulas entertaining a discussion on selling Lacassete (spelling) or Gonalons to us.

  25. tsgh says:

😀 Joe. Did the pilot get lost? Only if the world was flat.

Damn OG12; Alexandre L. may get a chance next weekend then..
