The perfect replacement for Giroud heading to Arsenal? Arsene Wenger wants him!

Morning all.

Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham – better known in England as Tammy Abraham which is a good thing if anyone wants to buy a shirt with his name on the back. Not that we Arsenal fans would want to of course as right now he’s a Chelsea player but a Chelsea player who’s eyeing a move away from West London as he goes in search of regular football. Conte might have other ideas though, especially with Costa expected to depart for the mega bucks China are offering.

But these days, Chelsea don’t really do that do they, they don’t give a home grown player much of a chance, instead preferring to spend big on the right player. A player who will walk into their first team and make a difference and I’m not knocking that as if you have the money, why not? I’m sure many other clubs would follow Chelsea’s example if they could because often that’s what brings success, that an a manager who knows what to do with the players he has and Conte is certainly one of those. The annoying thing is though that Arsenal played a huge part in the winning the league as straight after we battered them 3-0 at The Emirates, he changed his system and it worked. Unlike Arsene Wenger though who has waited nearly ten years to try something different, but the funny thing is, it’s kind of working for us too, well as far as results go.

Anyway, back to Father Abraham’s son Tammy, Arsene Wenger wants him apparently, although that is just according to the tabloids who are trying to attract readers. The 19 year old has been on loan all season with Bristol City and he’s been banging in the goals for fun and before judging the Championship, let’s not forget that many players have made the move up and done extremely well. Our own Rob Holding is the perfect example, theirs others too but I don’t give praise to any other clubs who have plucked a lower league player out and he’s turned out to be something special.

So while Tammy was notching up 26 goals in 50 appearances for Bristol City, poor old Chuba Akpom has struggled at Brighton, a team now promoted to the Premier League. According to Wikki, he’s managed just ten games, with no goals. Injury played a big part in his stats but regardless, and sadly for him, I think he’ll be sold off this summer.

As said, Wenger is reported to be interested in signing Tammy Abraham. He’s 6′ 4″, but quick apparently and his outstanding season on loan saw him take all the end of season awards. Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer and in doing so, he became the first ever to play to earn all three awards in the same season.

Could he be the perfect player to replace Oliver Giroud?

Yes he’s only 19 years old, but Romelu Lukaku was younger when Chelsea snapped him up and look at him now…

PS – a reminder that there are three season tickets up for grabs. If you are interesting in renting/buying them, please email me.

    Stand by your Stan…

Morning Rico, great post, isn’t Wikipedia good. ?

Morning All, I wonder what the contract situation with Abrahams is like, is he into his last year?
Chuba Akpom isn’t gonna make it at Arsenal, he needs to go away like Benik Afobe, get regular games at a lower level and rebuild his career. He has the talent for sure, no idea why he hasn’t really pushed on?!

It was all blue skies here and I was having some really positive thoughts and theories. Now it’s all 100% cloudy and threatening fain again. My clear thinking has become muddled and hazy, a bit like an old man I know who will currently be clad in his over short shorts exposing his varicosed veined, spindly legs!? In the belief that he ‘knows it all’ after 40 years of occasional success and frequent failure to deliver the top place!

Oh well he’s nearly done, only a couple more years. We’ll just have to be patient, won’t we?

Weather update….I’ve just seen a ray of sunshine……..what could it mean…….?

  4. rico says:

    Morning Kev. It is…

2019 his contract expires according to the transfer market website.

Agree re Chuba, he has to go for the sake of his own career, Joel Campbell too.

we have are own Edward Nketiah great player bring him on sooner.if any of you fans watch under 18s under 21s acadamy etc you might see what i mean.

  6. rico says:

Similar here Wavy, although no rain expected until this evening. But my Arsenal mood is like the clouds, dark and gloomy…

  7. rico says:

Allan, we do but he probably needs to go out on loan next season for some proper competitive football..

I still think we need another striker in any case and regardless of what happens to Ollie.

  8. allezkev says:

I guess if we’re swopping Sanogo for Abrahams, then it makes sense.

Ntekiah needs a year in the U23’s then a year out on loan, to a club that will play him and not leave him on the bench.

  9. allezkev says:

Morning Adam, yes mate, it went straight to the heart of the matter, ignoring all the spin and deflection that has surrounded the club these last few years.

I usually go on Arsenalist to see the goals and highlights, but there’s nothing there from the Sunderland game, which is very strange?

It seems that Kroenke is ‘jetting in’ for the cup final, how exciting… ?

  10. Le Coq Monster says:

I was saying a while back how some of the youngsters in the past have looked top quality only to be let go or fail on loan etc` and this is why I try and not get carried away with them ie like Nketiah because I thought Chuba was going to be the new Henry !
Love watching the youth on Player, but that`s it, just like watching and will keep my useless hopes/opinion to myself on their ability to succeed as I they mostly let me down !…………………………Daniel Crowley !……another one I thought would be better than Wilshere and without the injuries !……………………..best we just buy top notch ready made talent like Suarez !
    🙂

  11. Le Coq Monster says:

Stan in attendance !…………………………………..I hope it`s a severe windy day and his syrup gets blown off his head and lands on Abramovitche`s head !……………………..Roman will spend money on it and improve it so much that it will go on to replace Conte as manager and win Chavs the quadraple next season !…………………………….see Stan, that`s what happens when you speculate to accumulate by buying and improving the squad !…………………………….tight c##t probably gets them from his wife`s Walmart and at a discount !

  12. Le Coq Monster says:

Yeah !….I know, it`s Wengers fault as he has the money to speculate, but doesn`t……………..but Arsene doesn`t wear a syrup as far as I know, so doesn`t fit into the dig !……………………………….

Toupee or not toupee, that is the question .

  13. allezkev says:

Yep, Stan Flashman has gone and is currently standing outside the gates to heaven, flogging tickets.

I still see Pat Rice’s brother outside Arsenal tube, touting with his colleagues.

  14. Le Coq Monster says:

If Kroenke is really serious about this club then he would turn up at Wembley wearing a Red & White Syrup.

  15. Wavy says:

He couldn’t do that LC, we’d all see the join and then his ‘secret’ would be out!

    Cronky out!

    Wenger out!

    Bould is bald!

    Usminov, obese!

    The list is endless.

We need thee old guard back, Bone, Hill Wood, Bracewell Smiths etc proper men! And only tea ladies and waitresses in their day. Wenger would have been led a merry dance as they would have been in contro, rather they left the job of running the club to Ken Friar. A non-playing supremo, I think. My how the times have changed.

  16. Marshall says:

    Hi Rico, all.
Funny the headlines are saying the Yank is coming for crunch talks. The moron can’t talk! He’ll just sit there and listen to who talks loudest between AW and IG.

Kroenke must be more afraid of loosing Wenger than any AKB you might know. To him Arsene is the first line of defence when the Arsenal is under attack. The next manager may not perform that role.

  17. Marshall says:

Teams should be docked points for diving. That way the entire club feels the pinch of having a cheat on their team.

Only that way will the managers coach it out and a player will think twice before going down too easily.

  18. rico says:

Hi Marshall. We have to hope Ivan shouts loudest and gets heard. Throw Chips in too and there might be a good outcome.

  19. Joseph says:

Just watched the news there english people should vote for labour. That theresea may is a disgrace, taking away free school meals, from insistent children, what a leader to be proud of not. English thick people get off your arses and vote her out.

  20. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Afternoon all, (except you political whore joseph)

One of the girls @ work said her spurs supporting husband is desperate to get hold of a shite hart lame seat. I said just get old of an old loo seat & paint it blue, same diff 🙂

  21. rico says:

Joseph, this is a football blog, not a political party forum. I’m sure people are intelligent enough to inform their own decision without your idiotic and insulting view that we are all thick!!

    Morning GG and all.

  22. Adam says:

Morning Rico and all. What a strange contribution from Joseph. Still, it’s nice to know that he is concerned about how thick we are and of course our insistent children. Theresea may has a lot to answer for it seems.

  23. rico says:

Morning Adam. Possibly one of the most stupid comments I’ve read in a while. And there’s been a few… 😉

    Poor Theresa…..

  24. Marshall says:

    Morning Rico, all.

T.A comments on AW not being able to coach are odd to me…yeah, today am leaping in Arsene’s defence. He was once great and his undoing is his failure/stubborness to change.

We have seen the results- albeit against mid table teams (man utd included). The few times he’s done tweaks, more often they bring results. Our club top scorer and to some extent Rvp have based their techniques on AW.

Problem is he focuses on attack and possesion than defence. – it’s an open secret. But for a man who ‘can’t coach his way out of a paper bag’ then AW has been doing a good job…nah a miracle.

Imo Adams sounds like he has a personal vendetta.
