Morning all.
It’ll be strange for our players and staff this Christmas as for once, they have the day off. No football for us on Boxing Day is unusual to say the least. Wouldn’t be nice to be able to write that they deserve their break, but I’m not sure they do. No doubt they’ll all get Boxing Day off too as we don’t play again until Thursday 28th. A light training session on Wednesday no doubt followed by a short trip across London to face Crystal Palace the following evening. Last season they thumped us good and proper under Big Sam.
I wonder how Arsene Wenger will spend Christmas bearing in mind he has very little in his life other than football. Perhaps he’ll watch a re-run of the El Classico which took place yesterday and pick up a few tips on how to control a game after taking the lead. It was nice to see Thomas Vermaelen playing again and he did pretty well I thought. Paulinho, a Totts reject seems to have picked up his game too but if he learned to release the ball quicker, he’d be a lot better imo. I don’t often watch La Liga but Barca really are an intelligent team, clearly lead by an equally intelligent manager. Oh to be able to say the same about ours eh…
Anyway, back to Christmas and today is the big day for many of the overseas players, certainly the European ones.
Petr Cech:
For us the most important time is dinner on Christmas Eve. After dinner you go and open the presents. It’s late, it’s almost the early morning of the 25th. Then you have time to chat and enjoy the moment to be together as a family. I have my parents and my in-laws coming this year, so we’ll enjoy the moment together.
I know in Spain it’s similar so Santi, if he’s not already, will probably be back in his home country ready to enjoy his day. I bet all he’d like the Three Kings to bring him is a fully fit body, one which can soon return him to the game and the club he loves to play for.
For Wenger, I hope he is gifted a book on the basic rules of defending, perhaps one which comes with a dvd which he could sit and watch with his players before Thursday evening.
On this Christmas Eve as many will be travelling to relatives, friends and family, be safe. If you drink, don’t drive. Instead get a cab or have a designated driver as it’s not worth taking the risk or putting others lives in danger.
I’m off to get the brussel sprouts on cooking ready for lunch tomorrow. Just kidding as for once, my Christmas Lunch is being cooked for me. The downside is that I’ve got to visit the inlaws for it….
Have a great day guys and gals, enjoy it whatever your up to..
There will be a post tomorrow so I’ll save my Christmas wishes until then…
No doubt we will get to Palace and he will blame 4 days worth of pudding. best they get some XXXL shirts just in case.
Ha ha Potter..
Saw this on online gooner :- https://mobile.twitter.com/4everagooner/status/944872832860860416/video/1
I like that. I too have some Arsenal baubles but this year, they’ve remained in the loft..
Got to go into present hiding mode grandkid is coming..
Have a good day Potter.
Merry Xmas rico. .
Merry Xmas to one and all..
Best wishes for the new year. .
Oh…and Wenger out??
Giroud out until at least February hamstring worse than first expected. Will that force AW in buying a tall striker in Jan as you can’t rely on Welbeck or Walcott or even Sanchez if he is still here.
Merry Christmas to you too Kk.
His resignation would be our perfect gift.. 🙂
Kelsey, when did AW last sign a player in January? Elneny I think. He’s not one to react to injury is he, he’ll just ‘make do’ by shuffling players around. Lord help us though if Lacazette get’s injured as who will Wenger substitute first then…
Adebayor, rico 😉
Crossing ? That’s the way to do it. :- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBvB3-lHAQM
A striker Kelsey, yes I think so..
BT Sport have been showing a series of NLD’s this afternoon. Nice to see the oldies playing again..
At least he could get through a parked bus Potter, there was enough room between his legs.. lol
I’d saettle for bandy rather than the aesthetically pleasing strikers we have now. Then again I wonder how prolific they might be with a bit of service like Supermac got from Armstrong and the others.
Me too, I loved him. A proper striker..
Agree re the lack of service too.
Hi Rico
How sad Ebowe thing ….
But why is tge law has to be in facour of the woman……
Why is that ?
Hi Alex, something doesn’t seem right about the Eboue story. I cant see how any judge would give his wife everything as he suggests.
Reading many of the comments on social media about Eboue I am disgusted but not surprised that most making a comment do not understood anything whatsoever about mental health issues and should be ashamed of themselves..
Not many people know the wide range of mental health issues and in so many cases it isn’t visible to another person. Praying to God is a common belief in some parts of the world and be it right or wrong that he in all probability didn’t ever understand his wealth he has payed the price with various traumas in his life and I can fully understand that has led to anxiety and depression. He needs help and I hope he gets it.This is something dear to my heart and not always easy to explain.I wouldn’t pinpoint in this
case because he is from Africa, many very wealthy people have kept their money and still had major mental issues,Howard Hughes for one.Famous quote:” I’m not a paranoid deranged millionaire. Goddamit, I’m a billionaire.”
.
It’s getting better though Kelsey, but you’ll always get a few on social media who just like the sound of their own voice. Personally, I would just ignore them.
Evening Rico. Whatever the truth about Eboue, I really hope he gets the help he obviously needs.
Evening Adam. Yes, as do I.
Yeah Rico ….but even the judge rules in fav of the lady how on earth does she is able to see a father of her kids reduced to this …
A bit fishy
I don’t know the facts Alex, so it’s hard to comment really.
Anyway, offski for me So night all…
Night Rico.
Night Adam.
Merry Christmas everyone….
Very sad to read about Eboue, whatever the circumstances I wouldn’t think that he’s a bad person, he just needs help. I hope the club do something for him…
Merry Christmas Rico, Adam , Lee and everyone on HH.
Merry Christmas Kev, Bt.
Morning all.
New post up.
