The end is nigh as key man on the move? What’s next for Arsenal fans?

Morning all.

Dum de dum, what to talk about today then?

We’ve done the Arsene Wenger debate to death, just as we have Stan Kroenke and the board. Transfers, or rather lack of them, well we’ve dissected how rubbish we are at getting those done too. Not that we’ve seen too many transfers arrive at The Emirates over recent years. The football dished up, well that too has been debated and for a few years now.

So other than those topics, what really is there to talk about?

Very little I’d say because until the issues at the club are resolved, Arsenal will not be the football club it deserves to be.

Arsenal FC is a huge club, it’s a wealthy club, it’s a club which I suspect many managers would love to be managing because everything is there laid on a plate for them, just as it is for the players. Crikey, they don’t even have to bust a gut on match day, not if they are one of the blue eyed boys because they know that come the next game, they’ll be on the team sheet….

Joel Campbell is living proof if that. What does he have to do to prove he brings more to the team than Theo Walcott, although he was ok on Sunday but like so many on the pitch that day, they faded as the game went on…

Campbell is out of the same mould from which Alexis comes from. Tough upbringing, huge work ethic, and he never gives up, regardless of how the game is going. Neither in my opinion need a pep talk (no pun intended) before the game because they have the desire and inner drive to work hard.

How many others can boast the same?

That’s not me knocking our boys, it’s just that footballers are all different, just as we all are. Some of us may be naturally motivated as it’s in our blood, others need someone to motivate them.

Who at Arsenal right now tells these players about Arsenal? It’s history, the rivalry with the neighbours, why we fans really dislike Liverpool and Utd. Who tells them the things players like Parlour, Adams, Wrighty, Keown etc used to do?

Does Steve Bould get to have his say I wonder?

Somehow, I doubt it……

PS – There’s a nasty rumour going around suggesting Alisher Usmanov is thinking about selling his shares so he can takeover at Everton….

Lord help us if he does and Stan Kroenke buys them…..

The only people that have any money at the moment seems to be the Chinese perhaps he will sell there. After all they already have half the clubs in the midlands maybe they will turn south. Perhaps it will be a good thing in the long run , Usmanov has been persona non gratis and ignored throughout his tenure, a change of face might just be able to shake the club from it’s inertia. What we don’t want is to see though is Usmanov’s share split up giving Kroenke even more control.

  2. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Bingo.

Usmanov wants to go??? Let him go I daresay. I would love to have the millions to buy his shares. And tbh Kroenke’s as well. And then you ask me…..will you have the sole ownership of the club?? yes and no. Yes because I would have all the shares. No because after stabilising the club and buying the players who will make us great I will sell my shares (and not more than 10-20 per person) and in the statute of the club I will make it a point that no person can have more than 30% of the club.

And then work towards making the board members to be elected by the supporters (like Barca and RM) ever two years. In that way everyone is held accountable and if someone does not perform he/she is out.

I would love to have all that money to give the club back to the supporters.

Oh and give AW only till next May to deliver. Otherwise its out.

  3. Hell Raising Devil says:

Iwobi is also out for a month.

    Good.

What the fuck???? you may ask.

Yes him and Aaron out for a month is good for the team.

Because that will mean that OX and Campbell will get to play as well.

I don’t know what Campbell has to do to get a game. He plays, he works hard, he scores.

The OX had a great pre season….scored some crackers…..came on as a sub and helped pull us back two goals. Why did Theo start the game and not him.

And Aaron out means that Cazorla gets to start a game as well.

  4. rico says:

Devil, I’d rather it was Wenger out injured for a month, in fact make that the next ten months, then see what Bouldy can do with this lot….

  5. Hell Raising Devil says:

James Rodriguez is still around 25 years old. He had a very good WC and in the little spells he has played he did well.

    But?????

No way would I pay 65million for him. Not even 25 mill imo.

RM want 65million??? fine. Keep him I say.

  6. Malaga gooner says:

    Morning Rico and the house

Not sure if this has been brought up before

What are people’s thoughts on why there is no George graham statue outside the Emirates?

I know he took a bung, but they were all at it.

  7. DB10 says:

But are we a rich club? We seem to be in a position now where we are sending out the signals that we no longer wish to compete at the very highest level. Rather than attracting the very best players we now seem to be scaring them away via our lack of ambition and antiquated ideas. We penny-pinch and embarrass ourselves at every turn, resulting in players no longer wanting to join what was once the ‘market leader’ in football. We are steadily, season by season getting left behind and this is unacceptable for a club as big as ours. We show no bullish ambition or arrogance a la Henry or Pires. If you look at a club outside of the EPL – Juventus, a club supposedly way behind our financial muscle, they act as though they are the best. They clearly signalled their intention is to win the Champions League this year, and have assembled a very talented squad. There has been no quibbling of fees, no embarrassing offers, they have just shown their ambition. Sadly, we seem to have forgotten what that is. It is time for change. That time is now.

  8. rico says:

But Devil, that’s the kind of price tag which is relative to the money in the game…

Morning MG, with a brown envelope in his hand? lol

  9. Andrew Halling says:

    I’m back to Southend United!
Oops, best two players left in summer and lost first two games 1-3.
    Oh dear.

  10. potter says:

Bertie Mee with a bucket and sponge , there’s another. Sadly George got caught and the F.A got their pound of flesh and then swept the whole affair under the carpet and instead of seeing where Rune Haugge was leading them they allowed the Agent to take control of the game. Now we have super agents that not only have players in their grasp but also represent managers and referees .Is it corrupt ?? not sure : too many trees in the way to see properly..

  11. allezkev says:

Well if Lee is gonna support the U’s, then I’m gonna support Southend United….

    Come on you Shrimpers….

  12. Ogban says:

Usmanov selling to Kroenke? That may not be a bad idea, you know. Makes it easier for some rich Arabs or Chinese to buy Arsenal off Kroenke and we can be on the same page with the dopers in the PL. After all, Arrsnal is still a damn attractive and vibrant brand.

  13. Joseph says:

Just wanted to get a point across, heard today stan collymore saying that arsenal win never win any major cup under arsene wenger again and he is 100% right. what to know fellow arsenal fan opinions?

  14. allezkev says:

Just seen a very interesting looking geezer, walking down Goswell Road, away from the Angel…

He had long blond hair, not dissimilar from Lee’s long flowing blond locks, but this was a wig or possibly extensions.

He was about, what, mid – 60’s, he was wearing a nice summer blouse, a mini skirt, showing off his long shaved legs, high-heels, not too high though as he was over 6′ and a very fashionable shoulder bag, Agag would have been impressed…

I just had to park in Percy Circus and relay this image to all the fellas out there, as I know that you’d be very interested at the latest London look…

    Don’t have nightmares… ?

  15. Joseph says:

Hell raising devil stan collymore will be right, wenger last lost the dressing room, he has lost the fans and he has lost his marbles. If you don’t think there is a need for a change then you must be deluded to.

  16. Joseph says:

Apparently coming out of Valencia now is that Liverpool have entered talks with them over mustafi and are favourites now to sign him, this can only happen at arsenal. If Liverpool complete that transfer there will be a riot at the emirates, fans will go nuts.

  17. Lee says:

Joseph I don’t expect anything different, we are a joke of a football club right now! In fact have been for quite a few years………..so sad but true!

  18. Adam says:

Brudder. That is a sad fact that is slowly coming to a head. Wenger, Gazidis, Kroenke, the lies, the half-truths, transfers, the bank balance, the manager’s new contract, the future, new deals for Ozil and Alexis, the same old bollocks etc, etc. It’s all rolling itself into a little hard ball that will either stick in our throats for the season or explode.
    Still, it’s only a game. 🙂

  19. bradster says:

    Afternoon all,

If Stan has full ownership, what will stop him declaring a dividend and special dividend and his consulting management fees.
He will still not invest and start digging into the money in the bank because he can and Arsenal don’t spend it.

  20. Le Coq Monster says:

Intertwat playing up !………..didn`t know there was a new post and was stuck on last post wondering where the comments were ? 😀
Anyway……………………I feel as if we are in a no win situation !. If Kroenke buys Uzzy`s shares everything will be the same and if anyone else buys the shares everything will be the same !…………………only Kroenke selling to Uzzy will we see drastic ( for the good ) changes opr both selling to an Mansour/Abramobitch type owner willing to spend outragous amounts of money by hook or crook and every loophole available for us to compete !
As me, kelsey and some others say…………….Kroenke is the evil ……short term, medium term, long term…………..Wenger is just the short term obstacle !
We have been in a downward spiral for years and it will only get worse !. I have to laugh at those who think 2nd is really an improvement !………….only 1st is an improvement !……….isn`t it so simple to see trhat`s the only one which wins a trophy, who fcuking cares whether you finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th ?…………not me that`s for sure !
The tiny hope I had was that Kroenke would sell to finance his LA Rams ! ?

  21. Le Coq Monster says:

Nope !………………………………just some talk about Everton and Sevilla wanting Joe Hart !

  22. Le Coq Monster says:

And that was before Gabriel got injured !…………Mustafi interest was because of Mertsnailer`s injury !……………………our guys are really on the ball ! hahaha

  23. Herb's Army says:

Good afternoon Rico and the House.
If I were Alisher Usmanov, I’d probably feel a bit annoyed and frustrated, because I’m sure he didn’t buy into Arsenal to be a silent partner, and probably envisaged a much more hands-on involvement.
But with 30% ownership and blocked from being on the Board, he is a dead duck at Arsenal, his investment isn’t being used to help Arsenal, Kroenke isn’t budging, so it would make sense for him to seek power somewhere else.
We as supporters can only hope that if Usmanov does sell his stake, it doesn’t go to Kroenke. The ideal scenario would be if Usmanovs shares was sold to Arsenal supporters, who may be blocked from the Board, but who could still demand answers from the apathetic Kroenke and challenge the whole philosophy at Arsenal.
I feel this is the only hope of Arsenal supporters ever re-connecting with the club again.

  24. rico says:

Afternoon Herb. Totally agree, especially about Kroenke. I know I sound like a broken record but I wish he’d buy Kroenke out as the stubborn Yank refuses to work together with the big fella.

Arsenal would be far more ambitious under Usmanov. Imo.

  25. Micko says:

Easy mistake to make rico, plenty forget Holding has a whole season of Championship football behind him and Chambers is really a replacement centre half isn’t he.

We should all be buzzing after the weekend, billionaires on the board and an economist for a manager, only at Arsenal.

  26. Le Coq Monster says:

I`m afraid that a club like Arsenal never do move quickly and that applies to the shareholders aswell……….. I doubt any of us will see any movement in our lifetime as Gooners, Kroenke`s in it `til the end and if I go to that Northbank in the sky before he kicks the spittoon then I`ll come back and possess his syrup !

  27. kelsey says:

Well Rico,, it says we are very close to signing him.Well in a race with Usain Bolt i would be very close to him, about 60 yards behind 🙂

I can’t believe how long this is taking but Valencia are strapped for cash and are holding out for any other offer that is higher than ours.If we relly want him, just offer the right price and then the deal is done.

  28. Micko says:

Talking of Billericay, I was gifted one of their new home jerseys this summer and it’s very nice indeed, friends in high places I’ll let you know lol.

Malaga 12.39, it wasn’t the bung but taking over at the scum that left a sour taste in the mouth.

  29. rico says:

    🙂 Kelsey…

Exactly, and the price is lower than his get out clause apparently. That’s Arsenal though, sell for big money, pay the minimum…..

  30. Simon says:

It’s all rubbish happening around Arsenal FC these days. There is nothing good we can talk about these days….we are but just a laughing stock. And our fellow supporters in England are letting us down all over the world because they are the only ones who can really do something to make the club know we are bleeding all over the world….

  31. Le Coq Monster says:

No juicy rumours on Arsenal newsnow, so looked on the general news and two items caught my eye, first…………………………….The mystery of déjà vu has been explained, according to reports !……….. I feel like I`ve heard that all before !………….and secondly…………The BBC has revealed who is to replace the Met Office as the new source of weather data……………….this has to be my neighbour Denzil !………sticks his testicles out of an East facing window every morning at 6am !……….if they turn blue it`s going to be cold with a possibility of frost !……….if they`re soft and moist it`s going to be hot and humid !…………..and if they`re wet it`s raining !…………..honestly, he`s spot on every time and I`d rather trust him than Michael Fish !
Did have a problem a few weeks ago with no forecasts as he was laid up due to a vision impaired squirrel mistaking his testicles for fatballs !……………….I can still hear the screams !

  32. RickyI says:

Have to agree with many of the people posting, Kroenke is the real problem. Clear lack of ambition or desire both in the transfer market, but also to hold Wenger accountable for planning and management that can only be described as inept.

Kroenke happy to make money, Gazidis happy to sit back, make money and have an easy life and Wenger…well, who knows what he’s doing?!

  33. Micko says:

Le Coq, nice out, think I’ll get mine out, it’s the tried and tested method, just ask Denzil.

We have Met Eireann, they just call it as they see it, only last month they down graded our summer from shite to pure shite.

Wonder what Mahrez’s buy out clause is now that he’s extended his contract to 2020, according to his agent no other clubs were in for him.

  34. Lee says:

Do they have £200m in the bank?

Are they managed by a myopic has been?

Do they charge exorbitant money for season tickets?

Do they treat their fans as customers?

Do they constantly lie to their fanbase?

    Thought not……..

  35. frednerk says:

    Morning All

    Question?

If The Syrup is to blame for.
    No transfers
    No plan..A,B,C.
    Wasted player recruitment.
    Lack of leadership.

    What is Arsene’s job then?
Should he be on the Dog’n Bone
    begging for help?
Should he be telling the fans?
    ……………It’s Stanley……………..

or is Mr Wenger taking the fans
    money?………..
and leading us up the..Garden Path.

  36. rico says:

    Morning Fred.

Interestingly, Ricky, who joined HH overnight has written a post for today about that very subject..

    No sane person Lee…

  37. bradster says:

    Morning all,

I was wondering when the next international game break is? Usually we suck in the first game, ok in the second and qualify for Europe and then buy players, then the break.

So Wenger will rest the Euro players and their first game will be an international friendly?

  38. rico says:

Arsenal have made an offer of €50 million (£41.9 million) for Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler according to Tutto Mercato Web, with the Bundesliga side set to accept the bid.

  39. scottfromoz says:

    Morning all.
Draxler is a superior player, IMO, but at that price, he’d better succeed whe ever Wenger plays him!
Apparently Mustafi will join us as his club must sell, so let’s run with that for now lol.

  40. frednerk says:

Sounds like a couple of our young
players are being fast tracked to
    the 1st team squad…..
    Transfersssssssssssssss?

  41. Lee says:

But is he exactly what we’re looking for? Another square peg round hole again!

I like him and rate him but…

  42. Lee says:

How apt..the man who wrote “The Hokey cokey” died peacefully at age 93 the other day. The most traumatic part for the family was getting him into the coffin.

They put his left leg in….. and then all the trouble started!
