Taylor and Sow linked! What's going on with who we have??

Morning Houser’s,

The mood has changed!

Fans have gone from being enthused by our climb back from the lower depths of the league to the high and mighty heights of the top four, to suffering doom and gloom after our cheap loss on against Fulham!

In reality though, isn’t that just what the Premier league is all about?

Even the teams with big backers are not having it all their own way are they, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United haven’t had it all their own way have they?

I am sure Mancini, Red Nose and AVB have all hit the roof over the last few weeks after suffering poor results and so they should, bearing in mind the millions and millions invested by their benefactors.

Questions have to be asked and the first one is why are we not winning?

Rich owners who invest multi millions are in football not to make pocket full’s of money, they had pocket full’s before they started and most football teams owe millions in any case.

What they are probably in it for is an interest, something different from their normal way of life – they are so rich the money doesn’t come into it when their winning. However, when their teams lose to a team considered to be below them, they start to think about the cost and what a mug they must look.

Young men who are supposed to be the best in football, losing to an inferior team, what next eh?

While building their fortunes straight out of the rich owners own pocket, any such loss must feel like a slap round the face, so questions will be asked.

There is no doubt about that and if it goes on for some time, managers will be sacked and players will be sold and that may cost a club vast amounts of money but for each billionaire, he would rather see that than look like a guy who is being taken for a ride.

Arsenal football club is also owned by wealthy men, the difference with us is that they only buy the shares, they only want to be owners for investment, they bought our club and put it in the hands of football people.

They let them carry out the running of the club, while they are abroad, or watching sport elsewhere. Their instructions are, run the club while I’m away but only use the money that we make from television and sponsorship and of course the gate receipts.

From that money, wages and transfers and the normal running expenses have to be covered, so it becomes obvious that the big named signings will not be joining us and that is why we sign the cheaper player.

Maybe because of the system our club work, or maybe just luck, we seem to still finish well up the league each season.

The whole club realise that the chances of winning the league, the FA cup, and the Champions League is probably beyond us but we still seem to make enough to keep our head above water.

Arsene Wenger earns a huge salary but he doesn’t cause any waves and he demands little for funds to buy top players. He waits to see what funds are available and buys accordingly.

He probably feels that if he doesn’t buy in one window, he can save that money for the next and hopefully when the money from the next season is available, he will do his buying. Obviously if he needs more than one player, he would have to buy the cheaper option but you know that all ready.

Where I get confused is if he buys a player, that player is bought for a certain reason, a striker because were short, or a defensive midfielder for example.

You would think they would come straight into the team and others left out but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

We signed Chamberlain and Ju Park in the last window and Miyaichi finally joined us too but none of these players have been played much, maybe a token game but that’s all, and I am wondering why that is?

Surely for a club like ours that works the way we do, we cannot afford to buy players and then not play them for six months. Theo Walcott has been dire for months, Arshavin for a season and a half and yet we still play them.

Why?

Chamakh had a run of games at the beginning of last season, a spell where he scored 12 goals but as soon as Van Persie was fit again, he was dropped like a stone and he has never returned that kind of form since. Chamakh came as a free signing so I see that as a clever bit of dealing while Van Persie was injured but since Ju Park was brought in and with Chamakh so off, why are we still playing him and not giving Park a chance?

Chamberlain is another strange case, he was introduced against United when we got well and truly hammered and although he gave a good account of himself, has hardly been played since.

Theo has playing terribly yet our other young Englishman has to sit out, even with a depleted squad against Fulham he was not even on the bench, so what’s all that about?

Arshavin, as already said has been woeful not just bad but horrendously bad, while Ryo Miyaichi has not been seen, can anybody see the point of buying a player and then refuse to play him, I am speechless.

Ju Park comes from a country that still has conscription, so we have him for another 18 months before he is called up for two years, what was the point of acquiring his services, only not to play him?

Remember Ryo Miyaichi was signed by us but had to be loaned out because of his visa problems, he’s actually been with us for 18 months now. Since his debut in the Emirates cup, we haven’t really seen him again!

So, as much as we appear to be doing reasonably well, when you look beneath the surface you see that there have been a lot of strange decisions.

Players have been bought and never used, bad players are getting more games than they deserve, Army recruits are signed yet not played so what the hell is Wenger doing and how can Stan Kroenke allow this bad use of funds?

Suggestion is that Kroenke should sell his shares to Usmanov and make way for another billionaire owner, can he be any worse?

Who knows………

Oh, we also have Joel Campbell signed and out on loan – don’t suppose we’ll see him play for years……

Couple of stories:

The Sun suggest we are looking at Swansea’s left back Neil Taylor and The Daily Mail suggest we are in a two-way battle with the noisy neighbours for Lille striker Moussa Sow. Finally, we are linked to Dutch playmaker Adam Maher. The 18 year old currently plays for AZ Alkmaar and has been earning rave reviews in his homeland.

Out of the three rumours, the latter seems the most likely… 😉

    Morning all..

    Another great post SSP 🙂

Good questions asked, why have Ryo, Ox and Park not be given chances when those ahead of them are truly off their game – I wish I knew the answer…

Ryo has been injured and now suggestion is that he will be off on loan to a PL club so he won’t get his chance this season.

Ox, well, I haven’t a clue, when he’s played he looks so strong and offers so much, ok he can’t play every game, his bones are still growing but he should at least be coming off the bench when Theo is rubbish or starting and then bringing Theo from the bench…

    Park = Shirt Sales…..

  2. lee says:

Imagine if we’d beaten wolves & fulham, how much sweeter it would of been!
You know I’m going down the WATH route, we’re getting TH12 and that’s it… and with that kind of intent it’s only a matter of time before RVP signs up, or b)… Jokers

  3. Rockyrocastle07 says:

    Morning all.

Good post Steve. I find teh buying and not using of players staggering. Why are we spending so much on the likes of Ox and then not even putting him on the bench? I could maybe understand if he was on the bench but wasn’t brought on due to tactical reasons, but to not even be selected? Bizarre

  4. rico says:

I know, we’d be right up there now, when do we play Newcastle, hopefully it will be when Ba is at the ACON….

Fancy Bolton beating Everton too, it’s a funny old season….

  5. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi Rico, another great job getting it readable my thanks as always.
The Manc’s getting Spanked brings a warm smile to my face.
Got a funeral this morning rico so its left in your hands again, but i’ll definitly get back, absolutly throwing it down here, and a bit windy to say the least, catch you houser’s later.
    Sorry, morning Lee

  6. Rockyrocastle07 says:

Rico – We play the the day after my birthday, on March 10th. ACON is over by then I’m guessing?

  7. rico says:

    Rocky 😆

My pleasure Steve, rotten weather here too, not a nice day for you…. Catch you later hopefully….

Yep, free and why on earth didn’t we get in there first?? His form won’t last though 😉

  8. rico says:

Blast, yes it is Rocky, normally players are back by the end of Feb I think, ours are usually exhausted and have to have another two weks off, bet Ba just gets on with business as usual….

  9. rico says:

Our club is rubbish isn’t it, we can’t even sort out the loan deal for Henry, let alone getting a striker and defender in the door….

    How long does it take??

    Ring Ring : Hello

IG Can I buy Mr X please?

    Yes.

IG How much do you want?

    £15 Million

IG We’ll give you £7 Million

    F$$$% Off

    Line goes dead……….

  10. rico says:

I bet he does, that will be a tough fixture but hey, IG may shock us all and buy a few players in the next week or so…..

  11. Rockyrocastle07 says:

I think you were over generuous with IG’s “We’ll give you 7m”! More like “How about we give you 3m plus addons over and pay you in instalments over the next 4 years?”

And yes, the transfer negotiotions (and I use the word negotiations in the loosest possible term) are pathetic!

  12. Rockyrocastle07 says:

Right… Am off do do some work! Done nothing in the past 3 days and am massively behind! Catch you all this afternoon

  13. Rockyrocastle07 says:

I’m afraid so Goonster…. I’m not proud of my actions if I’m honest! Catch you in a bit

  14. goonster says:

Mousa sow? No way he has only scored 6 goals this season. We need better besides he’s another that ll bugger off every two years for the ACON. I ll take podolski but if we can’t have him I ll go for me fellow countryman…..klaas Jan huuntelaar!

  15. rico says:

its all just press speculation goonster – the price given for Sow is £20M, no way would we pay that kind of money for any player….

  16. Audu nurudeen says:

Great post steve….wenger should be reading this likewise the silent one (kroenke)…somethings need to start changing in ARSENAL FC

  17. rico says:

Welcome Audu and thanks for the comment on the post, i too wish someone at the club would read….

Guess it’s down to the price goonster, Nzonz would cost half of what M’vila would but again, it’s just Sky Sports speculation.,…

  18. goonster says:

It had Better be speculation maam. We need a creative mix fielder not a lump with little or no skills. We need players like goetze Marvin martin and my favorite yoann gourcuff.

  19. rory mckee says:

Arsenal fc aint being run properly its as simple as that.We are a club with huge resources and never, ever use them. The fans deserve much more from a club that has bled us loyal fans dry of money in recent years.Nasri and cesc being sold without a hazard or goetze being bought at that time is inexcuseable.Clubs with far less resources have always give their fans more.We need changes in terms of playing staff and coaching staff.Another thing that bothers me greatly is why is marwood, platt and vieria at city at coaching level and why not our club,is all 3 not former players of arsenal and would provide more energy and hunger than pat rice.We are going nowhere at the moment and i worry about the future greatly.thankyou.

  20. Micko says:

    C’mon Brentford, c’mon Brentford, c’mon Brentford !
Sorry gooners, I’m having a midlife crisis.
The wheels are looking wobbley, hope there not about to fall off.

  21. rico says:

They lost at the weekend didn’t they Micko or did they get back to 3-3 😉

My other team got battered by Cardiff, bad weekend all round…..

  22. Chinedu says:

Wenger should sign a freekick specialist @ left bk for the remainder of the season(taiwo). There are some games that are not won by possession, but based on individual skills. We only have RVP doing that,Arterta mostly hits the wall(watch cabaye’s freekick against man u).And a new revelation at CB be it a new signing or one of our under -18s

  23. goonster says:

Watching the liverpoop and shitty game only made me realize how unlucky we were to lose the full compliment of our full backs. Had sagna and Santos being around we wouldn’t have lost to shitty. Its so unfortunate. We lacked penetration from both wings. No full back to do a quick one two with. Walcott could have used that when cornered in the past few games. Can’t wait for them to return. We really missed them.

  24. Micko says:

What is it with us always being linked with loans these times, its making us look like a mickey mouse outfit, its seriously jarring my brain !

Was unlucky enough to get a ticket for Fulham in the fulham end with a mate of mine, why did I do that, why………………..

  25. ArsenalDK says:

Good afternoon everyone. It ain’t easy being an arsenal supporter now a days.. We have the money, but don’t spend. We have been incredibly unlucky with injuries, but the problem this season hasn’t been the defence. The attack has. Henry won’t solve anything. Unbelieveable that Wenger doesn’t splash out on a real striker..

  26. ArsenalDK says:

If we want to loan players, why not Taiwo? He’s incredibly fast and can put in a cross.. He would be our no 1 left back IMO

  27. Micko says:

Goonster, don’t bother yourself waiting for diaby to return, there’s more chance of elvis crashing his space ship into your house while your sipping on a martini !

  28. rico says:

goonster – Sagna could be back for the manure game….

Micko, that must have been painful…..

Hi ADK Henry on loan and a striker would help us though, certainly would take some weight off RvP’s shoulders, but no, an Henry loan on it’s on is yet again just papering over huge cracks….

  29. goonster says:

Morning micko and ADK….laughed my butt off after Phil jones scored that own goal.hahahaha can’t stop laughing. What a numpty.

  30. rico says:

    Thank goodness i don’t drink martini then……

he was meant o be back in ‘ten days’ – that was about six weeks ago ADK….

  31. ArsenalDK says:

goonster, do you have a link to that goal? 🙂

Yeah, I read that too rico, it’s unbelieveable..

He’s so crocked, that Wenger is afraid to come with any statement regarding his health. It hurts me to say it, as I have been an admirerer of Diaby since the beginning, but we need to offload him, as he’s not giving us anything.. At least not more than 6 games in a row..

  32. goonster says:

No ADK saw on it on the sport news round up last night. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. Old red nose turned purple for a brief second and it made up for the heartache at old toilet. Can’t wait to get them back.

  33. GAFFER says:

spot on steve palmer – well said – thank god chamakh is off to africa

park, ryo and oxlade all played 90 mins for the reserves yday, but failed to score!

would love to see oxlade and ryo play against leeds and of course Henry – but he is yet to sign!!!!!!

im not to bothered bout the fa cup – we need to make the top 4!!!! that is all that matters – if we fail to get the champs league money we will be in further transitional period to pay of the debts!!!!!!

  34. ArsenalDK says:

Let’s hope we’ll have our fullbacks ready for the game gooner stan 😉

What i’m really looking forward to, is getting back at those F***ERS at shit hart lane…

  35. rico says:

I love the rumours – you just have to laugh…

The latest is that Gazidis has been spotted Saint Exupéry Airport Lyon 🙂

  36. rico says:

Diaby out – totally agree ADK, and make sure he is tied up to Squilli, Chamakh, Arshavin, Denilson and Nik 😉

  37. goonster says:

Very funny micko….ADK yes I have seen him play and he’s shit. Would be slaughtered in the BPL. He’s clumsy and never tracks back. I have a camerounian mate that can’t stand him. He’s one of the reasons they didn’t make it to the ACON. He’s shit ADK shit I tell you.

  38. ArsenalDK says:

Hear hear rico! Although i think it’s a shame with Arshavin, when he first came to the club he was a revelation. now? 🙁 Who would want the others rico? Maybe tottenham? They are famous for buying our rejects 😉

  39. ArsenalDK says:

Alright, goonster, i believe you. I admit only watching him play a couple of times.. Aly Cissokho then??

  40. rico says:

I blame Wenger for AA – we as a club ruined him imho…..

Troubl is, no-one will want them ADK as they are on such a good wage, who would pay Nik, what we do??

Micko, only because the others we have are worse than him, did you see we are linked to SU’s reserve keeper, he’s 18, 6’5 nearly and huge 🙂

  41. goonster says:

Rico where is the link to the “gazidis in Lyon airport story”. We could be getting gourcuff you guys. Remember I said it here.

  42. rico says:

Baines, he’d be just the ticket 🙂

Welcome Gaffer, I want us to take the FA Cup seriously, we need to get on another run of winning and rebuild….

  43. rico says:

Just the silly runours goonster, don’t believe it……

We need a striker and defender before Gourcuff …..

  44. goonster says:

Rico baines would cost a fortune and wenger ll never break his transfer record on a full back let alone an old one(hmmmmm how old is he?). That’s why we are looking at Richardson. God help us.

  45. goonster says:

Sorry maam but we need a striker and a mid fielder….and no defender. We be gotten our striker ala henry now its time for us to get a mid fielder, gourcuff!

  46. Jarod says:

Nice post rocky,we need a quality stricker who cn put sme chances away, and put off tht whole load of work on RVP10..Simple,i bet we go for a podolski who wuld be available for a massive nrmbr of games….cme on wenger we cn do it!!

  47. rico says:

I disagree goonster, either we need a M’Vila kind of signing who will defend better than Song or a defender – we create many chances but just can’t convert them so that’s why i’d go for a defender and striker…

We are overloaded in midfield on the creative side and we have Jack soon back – in the summer if Wenger offloads a few from the midfield then that would be a different story….

  48. goonster says:

What? Did you say overloaded maam? With what? Ramsey jack and who? A bunch of kids! Please, we need a seasoned pro. Gourcuff ticks all the boxes and he’s strong built like a bull, has a mean shot and takes “bad” free kicks not to mention that this guy was born to play for arsenal!

  49. rico says:

    Arteta, Rosicky, Diaby, Oxo, Yossi…..

They are all in the named 25 man squad, buying another means selling one so until Wenger sells, i just don’t see him buying a creative midfielder…..

  50. rico says:

We aren’t struggling to create chances, we are struggling to convert them and stop the oppo scoring….

JV and a proven goal scorer would do for me this month….. oh, an TH on loan…..

  51. rico says:

Who the heck will buy Nikki now, arrested twice in a short space of time, his value would have dropped big time, we need to get rid asap….

  52. goonster says:

Score! How many chances have they all created this season? Maam we lost two influential mid fielders over the summer lost another to injury and we ve been relying on a 21 year-old who just returned from a nasty leg break. We didn’t replace cesc or nasri did we? Why do you think we are struggling to create anything through the middle. Ramsey is doing ok but he needs a breather. TR7 used to be my favorite player in arsenal but you and I can clearly see he’s past it. Diaby? Seriously? We need a world class mid fielder and another striker but I bet you wenger won’t sign a striker he’s obsessed with mid fielders. Especially gourcuff!

  53. goonster says:

Besides buying a proven striker ll “kill” both Campbell’s and afobe’s development. Hahahaha. Wenger he’s so predictable.

  54. rico says:

I’m not talking about those who are not up to it goonster, i’m talking about numbers and we are restricted to 25!

What i am trying to say is, all those i listed are on our books and named and until one or two are sold wenger will play those i list first and foremost, that’s his way.

We are creating plenty of chances, just go look at the stats, the last 30 mins agains wolves alone we must have created 10-15 chances but we couldn’t convert them which is why we need a goal scorer.

Arteta was Cescs replacement and Gervinho no doubt is considered to be Nasri’s….

We all know who we think should go but until they do, there is little to no chance of signing Gourcuff…. Surely, a winger would be a better option before another creative central midfielder?

Or a DM who plays a lot harder than Song??

  55. goonster says:

Well arshavin should be leaving this window and maybe rosciky. I guess that’s why wenger is looking at Richardson to open up more spaces. And the chances you speak off all come via the wings. Qengerball states that” most creativity must come through the middle”. See cesc’s arsenal for comparison!

  56. Red Arse says:

    Afternoon, Rico. 🙂

Steve, that is a super dooper Post — right on the nail.

Logically you are right about the influx of wealthy foreign owners.

It is possible some like the owners of Arsenal, Villa, Sunderland and Liverpool may be looking for the ‘main chance’, given that Al Jazeera, Google and Apple are all rumoured to be bidding for the next EPL contract in competition with Sky. That would mean the contractual ‘take’ for the Premiership could rocket!! Wowee! Who will pay? –Probably us- the fans thru pay TV.

But the rest of the owners are in it for egotistical purposes. This means first is first, and everything else is for losers.
Prices for players will rocket – tantrums will become commonplace – heads will roll – and I just wish they would all just Eff Off and leave our game alone!!

Anyway, again, great Post. You are talented sir! 🙂

  57. rico says:

I’m not sure Wenger is looking at Richardson, nor do i think we will see players leave until the summer, who would want them??

Hope i am totally wrong though…..

    Wengerball is b****x 😉

If we create down the wings and covert the chances, who cares, as long as though chances go in 😉

And, playing 433, the chances through the middle are bound to be limited… Cesc is gone, we need to move on from how things were and play a format which suits the players that wenger has bought…

  58. Red Arse says:

    Rico,

You are right about the need to keep a watch on the squad numbers and composition. Altho provided any newbies, such as Goetze, are under 21 that would not be a problem.

I seem to remember writing a Post for you on this subject back in the dim and distant past!! 🙂 🙂 Those were the days! 😉

  59. goonster says:

Well tell that to wenger maam not me….I ll gladly take gourcuff over mvilla. We have song and the coqpong brigade we can’t afford to kill them. We need a proven striker and a mid fielder. End of.

  60. rico says:

    I don’t want either goonster 😉

Song is mucking aboiut over his contract apparently. If he is, sell him, buy M’vila and have Coq and Frimpong as back up, but, I see Coq making Lb his own……

  61. stevepalmer1 says:

    Afternoon all,
Many thanks for your comments much apreciated.
As an older generation Gooner. Can anyone tell me why the old formations wouldnt work to day,2.3.5 i all ways thought that this system gave us good Defensive qualities as well as a good punch up top. just imagine this set up.
    Czez,
    Sagna Coq
    Kos BFG TV
    Gerve Arteta VP Jack Santos
    With these subs
OX Ryo Park Song Jenks New Keeper

Lets face it, as it is now, a winger flys down the wing, lets say Theo, who crosses, who’s in the middle, no bugger at all. what good is that. mind you if it was Theo, probably wouldn’t get there anyway.

  62. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hello!
Next week, totts play against Everton. The Redknapp team, an Arsenal supporter when was young, can be close the top.
Gazidis in Lyon? uhmmmm… why we not try Lisandro Lopez?
Gervinho and Chamack will probably be out until 15 ht February, if they reach the final. If not, they can be in the beginning of february (if they are fit). So, in the worst even, they lost: Leeds,Swansea, MU, Blacburn – sure – and maybe sunderland,FA round and Milan 9-12 points for the league, 1 or2 draw for the FA CUP and 1 match in the CL. . Those games are very important for the future of the season.

  63. agirlagunner says:

One has to wonder what the powers-that-be in our club were thinking buying players who will not be played. Waste of money, really.

And, SSP, a coat of arms!! A new blurb too! In keeping with your status as knight, I gather? 😀

    Hello, all!

  64. goonster says:

Afternoon guys…apparently manure are back in the hunt for sneijder! Men, I hope those c**ts don’t get him. He ll make them fearsome all over again.

  65. goonster says:

Talk about meant to be….me and agag stepping into the house at the same time. What are the odds! Hi ya little mama, how’s the weather over there in Manila?

  66. agirlagunner says:

There are always people in our cyber home, Stanlette. 😀 😀

How are you?? Manila’s sporadically rainy. Weird weather these days.

I want Sneijder, too. Although he and Robin do not seem to be the best of mates. Hah.

  67. agirlagunner says:

rico your 9:28 sums up all our questions perfectly. 🙂

Hello, Red Arse. Where are you? I never catch you when you post in here. I hope you’re tiptop. And you can always write for the Lady again. 😉

  68. goonster says:

Hope they don’t get him agag….just saw a laughable article saying we are weighing a move for arjen robben! For 22m! Funny right? Like wenger ll spend that kinda cash on an injury prone selfish former chav. No way thank you very much.

  69. agirlagunner says:

The players we are linked too are generally pitiful. No player to set the pulse racing. 🙁

I never liked Robben, but when he left Chelsea; he quite bloomed!

  70. agirlagunner says:

Gourcuff is a typical AW signing. Can’t say I have seen much of him… But he was beyond awful in the last WC. And now that you have declared to the world that you want him, AFC won’t get him. .. 😀

It’s a bit depressing, this lack of ambition by our club. 🙁 🙁

  71. Joaquim Moreira says:

    International press:
“Arsenal are interested in Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Udinese player who lent to Lecce this season, reveals the Italian media on Thursday.
The reports give an account of proposed 7 million by the British Colombian international striker, 23, who is on contract to Udinese until June 2014.”

  72. lee says:

Hiya AGAG/Stan….who we signed? To be fair those pricks are struggling to get the Henry deal done, what chance do we have?? As you said Stan, we’re becoming a joke…what will it, Europa football for them to smell the coffee? W@nkers!!

  73. lee says:

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has had his yellow card from his side’s 1-0 win over QPR on December 31 transferred to his Gunners teammate Laurent Koscielny.

The Belgian received a yellow card by referee Martin Atkinson for a foul committed by Koscielny on Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The FA exercised its right to request an Independent Regulatory Commission to review a case of mistaken identity.

  74. lee says:

I think M’Vila would be an upgrade on song and at £16.6m, I’d do that deal…probably get the deal done at flat?

  75. goonster says:

Don’t piss on my parade agag. We will get gourcuff and he’s class. Reminds me of a younger kaka before he went to Madrid. The year he singe handedly ripped manure to bits. Gourcuff just needs a new platform to launch his flagging career. Its a win win situation. Arsenal needs gourcuff to help restore its lost glories and gourcuff needs arsenal to showcase his skills. I hope we get him though.

  76. agirlagunner says:

Lee, to think the dotcom even published Henry in our kit. Yikes!! Trust them to mess up what little there is to mess up. Haha. I am being unkind.

Song has been pretty disappointing lately. He’s been in the habit of going into silly tackles…

  77. ArsenalDK says:

I don’t think we will get him goonster. I hope i’m wrong. You thought we would get Mata this summer, and even Young. But didn’t get any of them… 🙁

  78. goonster says:

Flog him if stalls on a new contract and get mvilla. He’s beginning to stick in my craw these days.

  79. ArsenalDK says:

Sorry, I meant we were supposed to get Young. Of course he went to United, Mata to Chelsea. When will we get our big name signing? Götze? Hazard? Never..

  80. mog says:

is the reason were struggling to get the th12 deal done because we do’nt play till monday and do’nt want to pay £70,000 in wages if he is’nt playing.
10 minutes before kick off on monday it’ll be sorted.

  81. agirlagunner says:

Hello, JM and Arsenal DK! 🙂

I wouldn’t know how to “piss”, goonster. 😉

As for getting Gourcuff, your 3:31 makes sense, but… We have tightwads in the Board, so— It’s. Not. Gonna. Happen. 😀

  82. lee says:

AW needs to be more ruthless with these under performers and sick notes, jog the fuckers on and get proper injury free footballers!!

  83. ArsenalDK says:

    Hello agag 🙂

The player JM was referring to, has scored 2 goals in 16 appearences.. So nothing that makes me excited 😛

And we might as well get used to not getting our hopes up, when it comes to big name signings 🙁

  84. goonster says:

God what’s with pessimism on here. Grrrr I hope to God we get him. I ll laugh in your faces. We couldn’t get Mata cause we had rivals for his signature. Alvarez we lost to inter cause Dick law dilly dallied. Gourcuff nobody wants remember? Who does he remind you of? Yes that’s right our erstwhile N07 bobby pires. Come on IG get me gourcuff.

  85. agirlagunner says:

If his going price is low, our club is probably interested, ADK. 😉

goonster, Granero, too. 😉 😉 You said we’d get him. 😀

  86. lee says:

    Still might AGAG! 😉
Does IG think by bidding £5m for a £20m valued player he’s work is done? I really don’t get…we need creativity & a goal scorer, surely it can’t be that hard to piece a deal together…

  87. Lee says:

Errr……No! There’s an article in the evening standard tonight about city prepared to pay £30 m for RVP….. He says he loves our club but wants assurances we will challenge for silverware….
He’s a really crazy idea bin all our shit players and buy 2/3 good ones, what you reckon?

  88. stevepalmer1 says:

I know were in the January transfer window and for most clubs it allows them to add or sell but for other clubs like Arsenal FC it is called the 6 monthly loan window. loan out and loan in. This is because they will not actually buy players. They find this way cheaper in the long run, no transfer fees, and a way to juggle their wage bill. The art of doing this is to find a club with a player who fits the position that they need, and loan out one that they need. This would work out well as contracts are not broken and players should not suffer any loss in earnings.

So when looking at potential players maybe we should also look at what they need as well. SIMPLES.

  89. rico says:

Just seen in The Metro that we are heading the list of clubs who want Bridge, please, not another old fart!

I can understand he wants assurances Lee, so do we – if he wants to move, let Barca or Madrid come in for him, not bloody Citeh….

Now that idea sounds like a heading for a post 😉 It’s sound a great idea, but if we do that and only buy 2/3 players, we’d have to play six-a-side 😉

  90. rico says:

Hi Steve – i can understand loaning players for positions where we are suffering injury but when we have gaping holes that need filling, we need to buy for the long-term…

We all agree pretty much that Song is going backwards, buying Vertonghen would not only give us a longterm solution to his position, it would right now resolve the problem at Lb…

  91. Lee says:

We all know RVP loves The Arsenal…. but how about making his decision a little easier for him by strengthening where we need to with some proper footballers?

  92. rico says:

You know my answer to that Lee, and we should have done that in the summer….

Ok, the players we got in the end were ok, but they are hardly world class, the one’s that made me happy was Arteta, Jenkinson and Chamberlain – Jenkinson because he is a real Gooner and you know he’ll give his all….

The question you ask though Lee, you and many were saying a few seasons ago, we always seem to be on the verge of losing one of our best and all because we aren’t showing intent….

  93. Lee says:

Not scrimping and scraping the barrel as per…..
Contracts get put in front of TW & song with dates to be signed by…and if they’re not signed, out them and get replacements!
Sick notes get a set amount of time once recovered to prove themselves if not ship em out… The whole gravy train needs addressing!

  94. stevepalmer1 says:

Where we have youngsters in the wings rico, a loan would be better for us .at the moment we pay full wages to players that we do not need and that stops us from buying in. You want us to buy a striker and we are paying Chamakh TH Park and our younsters how can we afford to bring another in. look at our midfielders and look at our central defenders the cost of those stops us all the time where Henry will be on his way very soon.

  95. rico says:

I agree totally Lee, no one player is bigger than us, and if money matters more then bugger off…. If we acted in such a fasion, I’m sure they would sign a lot quicker…

The problem is though, they have the right to stay and take their wage then hang on and walk free because no matter who we try and sell them to, if they don’t want to sign they wont – then what happens??

Play them in the reserves but while still paying their crazy wage?

  96. rico says:

You know me Steve, I wouldn’t be paying Chamakh, Park or Arshavin – I would have told them long before now to find another club, that goes for a few others too….

Players have the right to submit a transfer request or even sulk like Tevez has been doing, well i think it’s time clubs should be allowed to give a player notice, just like in the real world – when employees under perform, two strikes and then out…..

  97. stevepalmer1 says:

Lets face it we were lucky with Na$ri we could have quite easily have lost that 20 odd mill if he had refused to leave, we slag him off because he left but he did us a big favour that 29 odd mill could so easily have been in his back pocket.
Fabregas also did us a favour, no matter how much anybody else would have offered he wouldn’t have signed but he had to come up with the stumbling price from his own pocket. in both cases a profit was made.
Now its time for the others, all this he is a proper Gooner wears a bit thin when money is bought up if i was Robin i would go to the highest bidder because he will never get it with us

  98. Micko says:

Even Wenger knows vans aren’t designed to carry 10 people, he will have to strengthen if he has any sense.

  99. stevepalmer1 says:

I read that years ago players were only paid half wages in the close season. One of the player’s went to see the manager and asked him for a rise in pay to bring him up to the highest player, the manager said but your not as good as them, player answered, i am in the close season

  100. rico says:

That will teach Citeh to tap players up though Steve, they had little choice…..

as for Cesc, i wish we could have sold him to the highest bidder, we’d have got 50m for him…..

  101. DutchGooner10 says:

    Hi Everybody,

Raining cats and dogs across the pond as well. Windmills have become cow blenders over here. Some rural areas prepare for Armageddon.

Steve great post and my condolences on your loss. Hope there was a gap in the clouds for a couple of sun beams.

    On 2days debate:

Pretenders or contenders. Donkeys or racehorses??? The tabloids are dipping our transfer interests in the ambition bankruptcy sauce. Can’t really blame them for having these snacks either. Writings on the wall. If you ask me. Any blog protest against the way our club is being craptastically managed is explained as a walk of shame. The accolades for playing the most eyecatching football have become echoes in a fog of war were we don’t trot the frontline anymore.

Our bank piggy has enough fat on its bones. Yet we are starving, mouthwatering for meat and potatoes. Our current custodians are asset stripping the club to make personal profits. Low dept/costs and high cash reserves increases their stock. Wealthy shareholders only interested in buying their own trophies as in mansions, cars, fancy dinners, front row seats. Securing their irreversibly social succes at the expense of glory on the pitch.

  102. stevepalmer1 says:

Thats a mouthfull there Dutch G you need to get a post into the HOUSE soon Mate , you certainly have a way with words:)

  103. DutchGooner10 says:

    @Steve

Needed that of my chest mate. Maybe in the future I can co-op a post.At the moment I still try to sharpen the pen,the skills and the English forum lingo. I often begin with bunches of subjects in my mind that take ages to unwind and structuring.

  104. W.A.T.H says:

What’s this I hear about Stanley parading up and down the cat walk in ladies lingerie under the name of Priscilla ???

  105. stevepalmer1 says:

I can Wait DG look forward to it.
Hi Wath, missed you the other day but you was right mate.

  106. W.A.T.H says:

What was I right about SP…?

Is “she” off doing her hair…?

  107. Micko says:

I haven’t got a clue what you guys are going on about, has goonster taken to waxing his legs or something !

  108. DutchGooner10 says:

    @WATH

To clear it up. I called Goonster a gal. Being a fresh man here.Thought the nick name implied a girly version of a Gooner.

  109. DutchGooner10 says:

I pictured myself a posh girl in Victoria’s Secret inviting me for a naughty entrapment. 🙂

  110. Priscila (aka) goonster/Stanliette says:

Oh poopie…….why bother? Stanlette it is! Happy now DG? Thanks for making my life a living hell. Wath get off my back. Evening guys, have we signed anyone yet?

  111. Micko says:

Wath / DG10, I’ve noticed he hasn’t been the same since he came back from thailand a few weeks back, i tried calling him but only got a message saying “I can’t come to the phone right now as I’m all thai-ed up”
Keep it under your hat, mum’s the word.

  112. devilgunner says:

Yes we have Goonerina. At least the Arsenal ladies have signed a top class scorer named Stanlietta Gooninha. 😆 😆 😆

Evening Guys and Chicks of the Gunners faith.

Signed anyone yet??? We cannot manage to get a loan deal done figure it out if we can sign anyone???

  113. devilgunner says:

Hey Goonie. What in the world have you been doing lately???? Changing yourself to Priscilla???? Do you love girls so much that you need to metamorphose into one????

  114. rico says:

    Evening DG…

I’m offski guys, enjoy the rest of the evening what is left…

    Catch you all tomorrow…

    Nighty Nighty all…..

  115. devilgunner says:

Yes mates. busy as usual. But during the little moments I have its to HH for me before the other websites, including facebook.

Seems as if everyone is off to dreamland. So I am going to join you there. Hope we dream that AFC have signed Podolski, Robben, Vertonghen, M;Vila, Cahill and got rid of Chamack, Squilly, Arshavin, Denilson and the soon to be best player in prison world Bendy. And then wake up to find that all of it is true!!!!

    see ya mates.

  116. lee says:

At the moment nothing, we don’t have a concrete case but we don’t rule it out,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “[A loan defender is] the likely scenario, yes.

“[I am expecting a] quiet [market]. Europe is depressed and there is not a lot of money available, only some clubs who have exceptional resources. Let’s say that clubs who are not linked with the economic environment at the moment can buy!”

  117. rico says:

Morning Lee, the only one’s depressed are us Arsenal fans 😉

JM, just the one I believe as 2012 brings everyone a clean sheet for yellow cards….

  118. rico says:

Arry wants to buy two new players

Mancini wants players to ensure he wins the PL as Yaya and Kolo head out

Manure are also looking to buy one ore two……

We, well we are doomed if we don’t keep up…

  119. lee says:

Rico, it’s a fucking joke…europa here we come!
There’s not a lot of money available….thought we had a few quid? You know, AFC take the piss out of the fans…most expensive place on the planet to watch a game of football and we get served up shite!

  120. rico says:

I thought we had £50M from the summer Lee, it’s same old Bull***t from the club and tbh, europa looks a difficult task….

  121. rico says:

They better be telling a few porkies Lee, that’s all we can hope for…

The New post is up, we’ll rant on there….
