Szczesny bored at Arsenal? Two mighty fine strikes secure 3-0 Victory…..

I didn’t watch the game live, had to wait for Football First later on in the day but Matt Le Tissier was covering our match on Sky Sports and he made me chuckle, he usually does.

He said that our goal keeper had absolutely nothing to do in the first half, which made me wonder if he gets bored during a game when it’s so one-sided.  Then, at the end of the match, Le Tiss said that our Pole had one save to make, and that came at him at about two miles an hour.

How do goal keepers keep their concentration when they have nothing to do?

Do they do what one of our regulars on HH does, and start looking into the crowd in attempt to spot a face to make them smile? 😉

Ok, I’m being a tad naughty but seriously, it must be difficult to remain totally focused when for most of the game, ‘one’ is pretty much a spectator…

Anyway, back to the game and instead of me writing a load of tosh, here are a few comments made during/after the game from a few of HH regulars:

Scott from Oz:

Szczesny…..had little to do, but did it well.

A few tiny lapses from our back four, but this IS Arsenal……

Very good over all, and Djourou had a very good game, a special mention only due to the question marks over him.

When the replays on, watch out for Djourou changing his bloody shirt. He has got to have the best six-pack in league. I’m straight, but it was bloody impressive.

Congrats on Gibbs for his first ever league goal, though he owes Given a pint. 😉

Tomas Rosicky – terrific.

Song was a weapon and was eagerly tracking back. His ball to Theo for his goal was simply genius.

Arteta….composed, poised, comfortable, then hits a strike that Bobby Charlton would have been bloody proud of…AWESOME!!!!!

Theo had one of his best games, and his goal was pure class with a first touch that was sublime.

RVP was actually a bit off, though at his level, still very dangerous. On another day could have scored three.

Gervinho….I love him, because defenders simply can’t handle him, but take your shot man – you have it in you.

Great to see Santos back – looked great going forward.

Ramsey was terrific on the left and nearly scored a brilliant goal.

Chamberlain showed with one run why the world will soon be watching – he will simply be a top ten player in the world one day.

A tradesman like performance by our side and we got the result we deserved.

Yes, we could have smashed five or six past them, but we’d have all taken three before the game. We definitely had a gear or two if required.

Credit where it’s due, Dowd did a good job and Villa came to play.

Oh, one last thing…..WHAT A STRIKE MIKEL……WHAT A STRIKE!!!!!

Joaquim Moreira:

You missed Sagna, he had a very good game, TV important and Rosicky, when not tired, had an exceptional match.

The second and third goals were very very good.

Allezkev:

Arteta was outstanding and Song had a great game.

Robin looked a bit tired to me, hope he isn’t running out of steam.

Rosicky was quality again and Theo had an excellent game, he took his goal superbly.

Delighted for Gibbs, who had a very good game but the space he leaves when he attacks, is a worry. The only threat from Villa came when they exploited that space, someone has to cover for him when he pushes forward.

Merlin96

Glad to see Gibbs reading my posts and finally tracking back!!!

There lies the weakness of our left-flank with both Gervinho and Gibbs caught high up on no less than 3 occasions!!!

WIth Santos fit….guess Wenger will play Gibbs-Santos to protect the left-flank during a tight game.

Finally, our brainless blind-alley runner is regaining his self-confidence and Wenger believes in him to play more centrally…….

You think Theo is worth £85k a week now??

If Theo wants to play centre-forward, then he should start pumping iron now and develop upper body strength like Gerd Mueller so that he is not easily shouldered or body-checked off the balls with two defenders roughing him up…….

Or, start developing the silky and delicate skills of Van Persie that he can dribble himself out of a tight situation with 3 defenders surrounding him.

All in all, a fine day at the office – and we now have three points between us and the neighbours, with Chelsea eight points further back.

It’s all going to plan, let’s just keep up the momentum, rest well this week and then show QPR who really is the best team in London.

The players can now have a good rest, Koscielny will hopefully will recover before next wekend too, but after todays performance, Djourou stepping in won’t be such a concern, will it?

Do you agree with the comments made?

Have a good day all….

    Hi alan,

great game, great result and as AK says, we looked like we could have stepped up a gear or two at any time….

  2. Scott From Oz says:

Hi guys…..what a great day to be a Gooner.
Thanks for posting my player rundown Rico.
Next time,I will ensure I have some time to be a bit more thorough.
I was rushed this morning, and gave that point by point rundown mainly for those on HJ last night and who were not able to watch the game,so if it didn’t flow, that’s probably why.
Anyway,I’m sure will get some more points of view on the game.
Who’d have thought 1,2 or 3 months ago we would be in this position.
I truly believed we would finish top 4,but to be 3rd now was a laughable thought way back then.

  3. CB says:

Two things went wrong this season:

    1) the tranfer window. I’m positive that AW said years ago that May is the most important month of the transfer window. The signs are that he is getting back to that philosophy
    2) no fullbacks in December/January

With both OK we might be challenging, with one OK we would be in a certain 3rd place

Looking forward to next season, with one or two quality additions and Wilshere back.

  4. rico says:

That would be fab for another game Scott, but no pressure, only write a report if you want too…

And yes, credit to you for believing, mind you AW said he didn’t think we’d be where we are right now…

Get RvP, Song and Theo’s contracts sorted and just a coupld of tweeks and happy days could be around the corner….

  5. rico says:

    Hi CB

For me it was down to making our summer signings a month too late and not getting a left back on loan in Jan…

  6. Fox head says:

Hi, good game from arsenal. Next target, can we catch mancity? or am i dreaming. Aim 4 mancity then probably catch 3rd place. Not so long ago Arsene was still whispering abt the title.

  7. Scott From Oz says:

All things considered I think we’ve had a sensational season so far.
If Jack had been fit,who knows where we would be.
If ATV5 hadn’t missed so much early on…..if,if,if.
We are where are,and with a now battle hardened group, add two or three new elements,we can beat anyone on any given day.
Anyway, let’s now concentrate on holding down 3rd.
If it happens, will Spuds ever recover???

  8. Scott From Oz says:

Oh,and what would’ve happened if RVP didn’t bang in that hattrick yeaterday?
We really are a one man band, aren’t we???
To all the experts, can you see that???
It’s every Arsenal player, fan, staff member collectively thumbing their noses at you!!!!!!

  9. nedox says:

Hey rico, hey all! Different kinda post indeed. The boys rarely even moved and still scored 3 past villa. Villa were so poor.

Standouts are Sagna, Theo, Song, Johan Vermaelen, and Gibbs keeps getting better!

  10. rico says:

That is the one thing that naffs me off each season Scott, injuries and why we suffer so many, would love to know the answer…

Having Sagna, Jenks, Gibbs and santos all out at the sme time really hurt us, it put pressure on the defence, key players had to move over to the left and right and we lost all our organisation at the back…..

Now they are back we look settled and I hope TV never ever plays at left back again…

  11. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
    nice one Rico & Housers.
Whether Czeczeny is bored or not, is no excuse for giving the ball away from some of his clearences. He only needs to concentrate when he’s involved he can do a crossword while were attacking if he is not busy then he should take more care on what he does do

  12. rico says:

I reckon he’s missing them on purpose Scott, giving the others a chance and to shut the press up 😉 😉 (ok i jest)

Hi kc, not sure about the title 😉

Hi nedox, were Villa poor or were we just too good from the off? i’d say the latter, we were in 2nd gear for most of the game…

  13. kc says:

we had a strange scorer yesterday….rico wrote a strange post….hope we had a strange summer better than the last four

  14. rico says:

Howdy Kt, long time, hope all is ok?

You haven’t missed much, only us keepin on winning, but then thats enough 😉

  15. rico says:

    Morning Steve,

Agree, he does need to work on a few things, but i’m sure he will, he’s still young and learning..

strange post kc, i’d rather say it was a post with a difference 😉

  16. kc says:

morning rico….im definitely sure u were not so sure that we will be where we are today…..i can’t stop dreaming……NOTHING IS TOO DIFFICULT FOR THE BRAVE

  17. rico says:

I wasn’t kc, i’ll freely admit that, not sure many of us were believing we’d be in the top 3 right now… Other than Scott 😉

  18. kc says:

i think vp is saving the bags of hatrick for manshitni rogues…..and to piss the fuck out of that ingrate

  19. rico says:

“Koscielny had tendinitis in his knee when he woke up this morning,” said Wenger. “I don’t know what position he slept in but he could not walk properly.

“He tried in the warm-up but could not play.

“We decided in the morning when he woke up. He came to see me and said he was not sure that he could play with that pain.

“So we called somebody up and pushed him in the warm-up. Straight away after the first run he said he could not even move. How bad it is we have to assess.”

  20. ktr7 says:

Robin is quite skillful isn’t he?that effort cleared off the line was sublime.also when he was showboating in the 2nd half how did he manage to do that flick?no wonder almost all Arsenal players in interviews say he is the most skillful player at the club including Henry himself and that was when Bergkamp was still here.

  21. stevepalmer1 says:

Spuds Manager Redknapp has all his hopes on a loss to City he is grasping at straws, but as we all know the FA is bent, we will have to win this game by a clear margin so that it is not left to a referee decision.

  22. rico says:

hopes on our new Vieira, who the heck is that kc?

Kt, another day, that cleared effort would have found the back of the net with ease, don’t know how the Villa guy got back….

  23. Scott From Oz says:

    Rico,I won’t quite claim that.
I was positive we would finish top 4,and put money where my mouth is after Utd beat us at OT.
Third……..I was hopeful, but certainly not confident.
I always thought Liverpool were crap,Newcastle would fade and Chelsea were ordinary,so weighing up the fact our new lads would take time to gel, plus we had so many players missing,I was absolutely confident.
I’m on a roll……I also tipped us to win 3-0 a few hours before kick off….didn’t have a sac on it though!!!

  24. rico says:

Steve, if the FA are bent, they will want us to win that game..

    1) To make sure Fergie’s lot win the PL again

    2) Make it easier for Dirty Arry to leave the Yids

    😆

  25. ktr7 says:

Hi steve.’arry is clutching at straws at the moment.with the momentum we have 6 points against the North/south chavs is very likely.

  26. rico says:

I meant you believed we would make top 4 Scott, others, me included didn’t believe that…

What about this weekend then, then i’ll go and put a pound on 😉

  27. ktr7 says:

Also vermaelen has some vision and technique.that bullet crossfield pass to theo was sublime.how many CBs can do that?

  28. rico says:

Got to go run the woofa before it gets too hot, can’t believe it’s March 🙂

    Back in an hour guys….

Scott, if you have gone off to bed by then, catch you later….

  29. nedox says:

Ok..a lil bit of fun in the equation for u Rico and all. We know Kompany will be in d team of the year, buh who lines up against him? Do u think Kos or Verm? And who amongst them? Cos all other top defenders this season has been outright woeful!

  30. Scott From Oz says:

    KC,
I reckon RVP has turned into a terrific captain, but I was worried early on.
He seemed quiet on field, but his enthusiasm now is contagious.

  31. Scott From Oz says:

KTR7,I said at the time it was one of the best passes of all time….just phenomenal.
No probs Rico on the top 3/4…..and 3-1 sounds good!!!!!!
Nedox,I’d have to go Kos because he’s barely missed a game.
TV5 is my favourite, but on number of games alone,Kozzer has earned a gig.

  32. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi KT long time no hear welcome bake mate miss your posts, spose i’ll have to wait till next year now 🙂
I personally dont trust the football authorities, we have rules in place that allows the officials to favour one team over another, these rules have been changed deliberatly so that they can be interpreted two ways. And while the press and media are anti Arsenal i worry that we will cheated out of a result.

  33. nedox says:

Scott, absolutely right! Was leaning towards Kos too. Has been there and consistent too.

What if Song could do a Xavi? I mean Song is 24 and Xavi started being Xavi at age 27 and before then he was a DM. So what if Song, later, could be moved further and Coq or Frim behind him in the next 3years? One can only dream u know….

  34. ktr7 says:

Song has some vision on him too.his assist rate is getting ridiculous.all he needs now is to develop a rocket long range shot.

  35. ktr7 says:

That vermy pass was sensational.it had so much pace on it but with the right trajectory and precision.theo’s 1st touch to take it away from Warnock was brilliant.walcott’s first touch is improving all the time.he must be learning from rvp,the first touch master.

  36. ktr7 says:

If we play the chavs at breakneck speed the will not be able to keep up.if the make the CL semis they’ll play us in between 2 potential Barcelona clashes, perfect.

  37. devilgunner says:

Good Morning Guys and Chicks of the Everincreasing Proud Gunners’ Faith.

Good new version of a post today Rico….goody for you.

“Do they do what one of our regulars on HH does, and start looking into the crowd in attempt to spot a face to make them smile?”….a can of beers for those who guess who that is then Rico??? Are you going to make a competition???

  38. Potter says:

Taking a leaf from Dog leash’s book , RVP is tired. He has never played so many games without a break . I said to the guy next to me yesterday that he looked off the pace and I just hope he’s not carrying an injury. While he is out there at 75% he still needs looking after and this is giving others time and space to move into. It might be difficult if he has to sit a couple of games out though.

  39. Scott From Oz says:

Vertonghen in to replace Vermaelen, who will replace Song who will play further up the pitch???
    Too far fetched????

  40. Oscar_gunner says:

arsenal is the shiznit, I’m beginning to think that with the right kind of luck, we just might get into the title contention… well i dunno if its just me but I’m beginning to have that giddy feeling deep down. Nice momentum lads keep it up

  41. Peter Le zbeu says:

Not quite sure about ge Gervinho comments.Arsenal supporters cut him a lot of slack. He ‘s had a poor season and stands out as a weak link.AOC did more inn10 minutes than he did in the whole game

  42. ktr7 says:

Its scary to think how good we could become jack/ox running the midfield.they can make short/long passes, run at defenders…its like having 2 bulls in there.i criticized Wenger for paying so much for another teen but boy was i wrong.the Ox is just exciting to watch.

  43. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! It’s great to see other people score. Good on Walcott, a great first touch is not something one usually associates with is name! 😉 Well-done, Gibbs!! And Arteta’s goal was killer!

KT!!!! How have you been? We have a true gem on our hands with this one.

Hello, all!! Devil, it’s AK who scopes out the crowd, right??

  44. ktr7 says:

When i saw theo perform that cruyff turn i thought i had seen everything…until up stepped Arteta.he must’ve pulled a fast one on us since that shot looked like it came from a sniper rifle.i loved the way it seemed to gain momentum the more it approached the goal.what a beauty it was.

  45. agirlagunner says:

😛 KT! Will you ever be done getting all those top marks?? I should imagine you have enough. 😉 Ox has that something about him. You just know that he’s special. 🙂 🙂

As for Rambo, he needs to be able to convert on his chances. He is able to fashion/be at the receiving end of some potentially good goals. It’s not everyone in our team who has that skill. But he definitely needs to be more clinical in front of goal.

  46. ktr7 says:

I think rambo is looking better after that rest but he’ll have to be much better since the midfield competition barring any injuries will be fierce.

  47. devilgunner says:

Scott….I have been shouting for Ox to be turned into an emergency centreforward for ages. He is a footballer, and therefore he will settle in as if that position has been his for years. He can lead the line, he can run at defences and dare I say it can be better than RVP during certain situations. The Ox has a great speed of the mark…..something which Robin lacks over the first five yards. Only Theo and TH14/12 had the same attribute.

  48. stevepalmer1 says:

I left a comment on another blogg this morning before ours opened it was about Jack Wilshere and whether he should play in the Ruro’s or not, my comment suggested that Jack has been on the treatment table all season and had not played for us for close on a season, i felt that other midfielders who had played all season for their clubs should get the nod before Jack, i also stated that Jack is still 3 to 4 weeks away from full fitness and would probably need at least 3 to 4 games before he is match fit, i stated that i felt it would be iresponsible of Arsen to allow him to play untill he has proved his fitness with us first and given us at least half a dozen games first, i just wondered what your thought on it are.

  49. ktr7 says:

Theo must be the happiest player to see Sagna fit.they dovetail together nicely on that flank making some nice combinations with rvp/rosicky.i just love how quick, direct and pacy we are nowadays.no team seems to be able to handle it.

  50. Billboy says:

    Morning All.

Nice refreshing post today. Happy days at the moment. Hope they last. Confidence is a wondrous thing.

Looks good for a serious title challenge next season. But it is necessary to offload the wasters as that will enable us financially to strengthen the squad.

Can’t wait for the next game.

  51. Scott From Oz says:

Devil, one of his greatest attributes as a striker would be his composure in front of goal…..he has no fear at all In taking the shot.
I raised this last night on Gervinho.
    Why isn’t he scoring?
Could it be he’s Intimidated by RVP’s goal scoring spree, because too often,he seems to be looking to offload when he could easily get in a position to shoot.
I love watching him take on an opponent….its poetry in motion.
That’s where it ends though, and his record at Lille shows the guy can find the back of the net.
I want Wenger to tell him to take his chance.

  52. ktr7 says:

DG I think Arsene is building towards a quick and pacy front 3 of Theo/Ox/Ryo who can interchange freely being supported by a rotating midfield 3 of song/ramsey/jack that can run with the ball or deliver through balls in equal measure.the Ox looks like a false 9 in the making, sort of the role messi plays for Barca.

  53. ktr7 says:

I agree Scott.Gervinho does almost everything well including tracking back like yesterday but seems afraid to try scoring.i thought he looked much better yesterday.lets hope his 2nd season is much better.

  54. Scott From Oz says:

Goodnight one and all,I am trashed.
One hours sleep last night has caught up with me,so off to bed.
    Good chatting,as always.

  55. Potter says:

Steve regarding Wilshere :- I think he should be kept in the background and get a pre season under his belt and come back ready for next season. However if Pearce gets the gig , no doubt he will put him in regardless of what we or Wenger thinks and will use him and not care if it all blows up in our faces again. This I believe is why we are looking at the boy Holtby in Germany , a similar player that could play with or alongside Wilshere.

  56. rico says:

No way should Jack play in the Euros Steve, thankfully Wenger has siad he won’t IF he doesn’t play for us before the season closes…

  57. Neeha says:

wonder goal from Arteta.:):):)Superb one from Theo.:):):):):)And good first one from Gibbsie.:):):):):):):)Keep them coming.:):):):):):):):)Beware QPR:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  58. Rokabox says:

Yaaaawwn!, another win, another 3 points, its getting very boring!!!;),
Aaaahm!! Morning gooners, this hour change not working for me.

  59. stevepalmer1 says:

I’m glad you agree, I know Wenger very seldom stops a player from playing for his country but i felt that after our poor start this year, and the abuse that Wenger was faceing from the press and media that he should always put Arsenal first. I have the opinion that a player that has been out for any considerable time should have to play their way back, a team has played without you for a considerable time and have managed, so i believe that they should only come on for short spells while their fitness builds. I remember what happened to Chamakh when Robin came straight back in his form went completely and robin took some time before he went on his run of goals, we discard Chamakh now but when he started he was electric, The ox is a good example too he has shown he is a player but Wenger has used him very sparingly he sat on the bench for most of the season but he is now in a position where the fans want him on from the off but who do you take off.

  60. Goonster says:

Hi ya folks, is tr7 on fire or what? Am so glad he’s repaying the faith i had in him. Next stop diaby. Come on about!

  61. Adam says:

Hi Rico. Nice day yesterday. The game, the atmosphere and the weather all smiled on us and we thoroughly deserved the win. The Redknapps should take their schtick on stage as a comedy routine. What with Harry’s increasing twitch and overwhelming paranoia that he might have been found out and Jamie’s designer stubble, skin tight trousers and general imbecility. There’s plenty to laugh at and that’s before they even open their stupid mouths. They could be billed as The T’riffic Tossers.

  62. rico says:

    Spot On Steve…

Hi Goonster, Diaby could be back in contention for Qpr, depending on whether he gets through another reserve game this week ok…

  63. rico says:

Hi Adam, Arry was certainly up to fever twitch yesterday during their game 😉

Serioulsy, i worry for the guy, he’s looking really really stressed right now, he should be careful….

  64. rico says:

I thought you might devil, so no prize 😉

No Adam it hasn’t, he’s worried, but not sure why though, I can see them pipping the Chavs to 4th, Roman will be focussed on the Champs League but no way will they win it 😉

  65. rico says:

The Totts have an ‘easy’ run in:

    Swansea (H)
    Sunderland (A)
    Norwich (H)
    Bolton (A)
    QPR (A)
    Blackburn (H)
    Villa (A)
    Fulham (H

  66. agirlagunner says:

Boo, rico! Lol on “fever twitch”.

Hi, goonster!! If Diaby manages to get past his injuries and do a Robin or Rosicky, everyone would be chuffed!

  67. agirlagunner says:

rico, off to find eggs?? 😛 In prior years, we imploded even as we had “easy” run ins. I should hope our players have learned their lessons and learned them well.

Goonie, howdy? Rosicky is one of my favorites. It’s always heartening to see players who have been all but written off return to stellar form, so I hope your dear Diaby does just that.

Adam, the teeny totts are running scared. After all that crowing, the boasting that they are the great entertainers of English football, how they have become the kings of London… There are many a games left yet, but if we keep to winning ways, how well or poorly they perform is irrelevant.

And that Jamie Redknapp is absolutely pointless.

  68. ktr7 says:

I really believe Diaby has what it takes.Sagna said he is the best French player when gets his form.Blanc said he was assured of a place at the Euros fitness permitting.recently Rio Ferdinand said he hopes diaby gets over his injuries as he can be immense.i hope he takes inspiration from rosicky/rvp.if he does a midfield of jack/rambo/song/arteta/diaby/coq/rosicky and maybe Götze as the icing on the cake is not bad at all imo.

  69. rico says:

    Afternoon Lee and agag

No such luck on the eggs 😉

Had to cut the grass…. 🙁

Bloomin heck Kt, Andy Gray said that 😮

You guys see Crouchies fluke 😉

  70. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners.
Afternoon Rico. Hope your little darlings are laying. 🙂
    Good post Rico & co.
I not so sure that the Spuds run~in is as easy as it looks on paper?!
Sunderland [a] not a push over.
Quite a few team scrapping for their lives.
Confidence at the rioters will be fragile.
    Swansea [h] won’t be a stroll.
They need to win. Draws are no good to them.
We just need to turn the screw a bit more and sit back as they unravel.

  71. Potter says:

Arteta’s free kick will get consigned to memory whilst Crouch’s will get replayed endlessly. Such is the way of the media.

  72. allezkev says:

QPR [a] Bolton [a] even Villa [a] if they are all in desperate straights.
A couple of draws & they kiss 4 points goodbye.
Who was it who said “Squeaky Bum Time”…

  73. allezkev says:

Ledley King is a busted flush.
    Modric is all washed up.
Monkey face has been sussed out.

Van der Vaart is carrying that mob.

  74. DutchGooner10 says:

    AfterGoon Housers,

Rico that was fun reading extraordinary. Wouldn’t mind if you conceptualize this into future match reports. There is so much cream in the quotes from our regulars. Absolutely lovin it.

  75. allezkev says:

Great to see you back KT.
Even JJ was on here yesterday.
    A good sign.

What did you think of Djourou KT..?
Thought he was steady, accepting the rubbish he was facing.

  76. ktr7 says:

He did well AK.he scares the hell out of me at times but he was steady and assured.it also helps he played at CB not RB.

  77. DutchGooner10 says:

AK we’re redskins scouting the plains from the same mountain. I agree Tott will face thuggish competition forcing them to circle their wagons. It’s buffalo season and we’re selling hides.

  78. ktr7 says:

Ever since Bale was granted the freedom to drift infield he has really exposed his limitations as a footballer.he makes the wrong decisions;yesterday he tried to score from ridiculous positions when a pass was on,at the Emirates he exposed their wings too much and was one of the reasons why we tore them a new one.he believed in the hype and ‘arry did too.he was excellent at hugging the touchline,no more than that.

  79. agirlagunner says:

I don’t hate JD, but the sooner Kozzer is restored to CB, the better it is for us. 😉

rico, today’s write up is tenth on NN’s most read. 🙂 And I also saw the Ramsey write up on rambo on football fancast’s Best of the Web. 🙂 🙂 That’s not a bad egg to find. 😀

    Boo, AK and Dutch.

  80. rico says:

    Afternoon DG,

thanks re the post of a difference, as you all liked it, this will be the format for the run in, let’s hope we keep winning, it could get nasty 😉

  81. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico did you place golf balls in their nest? No joke it helps to kickstart their natural instincts and settle the flock into reproduction. They might still be nervous thinking they will soon migrate again.

  82. allezkev says:

Me listen carefully to Big Chief Oranji Dutch.
He no speak with forked tongue.

Yep JD is ok in short bursts.
Choco eggs Rico. Yummy, now ya talking.
    Agag. Boooooooooooo. 🙂

  83. rico says:

Haven’t done DG, might give that a try if things don’t change but will give them a couple of weeks yet, their combs are still pink so must be patient 😉

After that, golf balls and a 3 iron should do it 😉

  84. agirlagunner says:

That’s scary, AK. 😉 Both the Boooooo and Injun talk. 😛 Bet you enjoyed yesterday.

rico, it was one of the links. 🙂 🙂

  85. ktr7 says:

Arsene is quite something else isn’t he?when asked what he thought of Arteta’s FK the first thing he said was that Arteta has short feet 😀

  86. Potter says:

It’s that time of year AK, i prefer a block of Dairy Milk myself

We used to keep chickens and when my family were down at Easter on the Thursday we sent all the children out to the coop to put chocolate buttons in the feed trays. . Good Friday. :- HEY PRESTO : Chocolate Easter eggs.

  87. DutchGooner10 says:

Ughhh Chief Eagle Eye. Me offer you spotted horse to deliver scalps like lighting strike to the totem of our noisy neighbors.

Orange Chief greets Pocahontas from Manila.

  88. allezkev says:

Greetings from The Black Hills of Kings Cross.
The squaw from Manila. She need heep big tipee to fill up with her shoes.

  89. allezkev says:

Hey KT. You must be on homeward straight with all your studies?
Is this the year for your final exams?

  90. agirlagunner says:

AK, what happened to your gravatar? I didn’t recognize you. The shoe thing is going well. My haul for the year is 20 pairs now. 🙂 Overkill, I know. 😕

rico, a flock of grey geese dropped a shipment of vodka. 😀

  91. rico says:

Here is a question then, following on from do fans want Wenger gone?

Would we rather Song signed a new contract, or still say stuff him, lets get M’Vila??

  92. DutchGooner10 says:

Ughh my dear squaw I will take the feathers and leave them skint for scavengers.

You dazzling in plume tutu. 😉

  93. agirlagunner says:

Feathers for the feather duster, Dutch. 😉

Is the GG Man okay, rico?? He never listens to me. He should remember his liver isn’t 21 years old. Tut tut. 😉 WATH, where are you?

  94. agirlagunner says:

You gunning for Latin honors, KT?? 🙂

I think Song wants to stay. I have never heard him say one bad thing about AFC. I suspect his agent is a-meddling. They always are.

  95. rico says:

Haven’t heard from him for a few days, i’ll email him tomorrow…

I too would rather he sign a new contract, keep the bulk of the squad together, then get rid of the bad apples like Nik, Denilson, AA etc and buy 2 quality outfield players and a keeper…

  96. agirlagunner says:

On a serious note, rico, I hope he’s fine. 😉 Don’t you worry, it could just be another battle with the Mega Man Flu. 🙂 🙂

  97. agirlagunner says:

Has Denilson’s performance improved though? I find it hard to imagine him returning. And Bendtner has done absolutely everything to make sure nobody wants him to come back. I hope AA finds form; whether we keep him or not is all down to his attitude.

  98. DutchGooner10 says:

Pocahontas old fashion. Needs to squeeze cockrel till blue than use need for air to suck like dustbuster.

If Song stays I would still like M’villa. Working like a tandem of hold and attack with the versatility of frustrating opponents build up high as well midfield of the pitch. Than again Vertonghen could provide the same and would be more instrumental in depth quality overall.

Besides if Diaby gets in his boots instead of his slippers there will be another box-to-box midfield engine very Vieraesqe. With Coq and Frimmy as second string to first choice options.

  99. rico says:

Just why I’d rather we signed Vertonghen DG, he can play anywhere in defence, and can play DM, he would be reassured of first team footie, just not which position 😉

We have too many midfielders, someone is going to have to give…..

  100. agirlagunner says:

You can go for the liquor-free option, rico. 🙂 Lovely!!

It seems we have all been waiting for Diaby to come good. To be fair, most of our players identify him as one of our most skillful. His peers hold him in some esteem and that speaks volumes. Now if only he would show all of us what he seems to showcase in training.

  101. rico says:

I think they are all fibbers agag…. 😉

Creature of habit me – none of this old strange chocolate 😉

  102. DutchGooner10 says:

Agag re Nama choco Looks like top of the line chocolate cuisine.

I like the fresh cream blended white chocolate that is finished in a mild and deep taste.

WATH will probably go for the Hennessey aroma. 😉

  103. ktr7 says:

I remember an interview whereby theo said diaby is unbelievable in training.even chamakh said diaby is the player that surprised him on how good he is.he is due a break from injuries, sooner or later he’ll get it.

  104. rico says:

They were just trying to keep him going Kt 😉

I’d still rather Lansbury in our side than Diaby….

But, as i keep on saying, our midfield is top heavy, and we have many more coming through…

what is it with wenger and midfielders??

  105. ktr7 says:

Apparently Vieira, rvp and vermy are at the Brisbane Road enjoying the Next Gen final.it seems rvp and vermy are really close which is ideal since they are our leaders.

  106. agirlagunner says:

Haha, rico. You’re hard on Diaby. 😛 If they were readily shipped, I’d send you some.

Dutch, they’re lovely. Go try ’em. 🙂

KT, I know you’re a Diaby fan. Red Arse also likes him, if memory serves.

  107. Joaquim Moreira says:

We must be concentrate in ourselves. If you reach the 70 points will be sure in the 4 first positions; with 75 will be 3th. don’t forget: they are only 24 points for fighting. Mcity has more then 10 points ahead. We can dream but our business must be relegate the spuds and the others to the behind positions.
Verthongen is playing now versus PSv (0-0 half time)

  108. DutchGooner10 says:

Well we might have a surplus in the midfielder mold but its the area in which a game changer has to be replaced by another. The modern game requires a lot of diversity/variety in the center pitch. See what difference TR7 makes now he’s taking responsibility for direct passing. If you face a parked bus though you need more prolific dribblers to pull formations out of position.

  109. rico says:

    Too true JM….

Wouldn’t it be just fab if we scured 3rd and then the Geordies nipped in and got 4th 😛

  110. agirlagunner says:

I’m giving him another season, rico. 😀 He won’t fetch a good price now, anyway. 😉 I couldn’t stand it when he was talking rubbish about our club over the summer.

  111. allezkev says:

Wath ill…? Nah, he’s as tough as old boots.
He just hasn’t had anything to moan about. 🙂

  112. rico says:

This is just wrong, so so very wrong 🙁 🙁

Former Olympic silver medallist Vigor Bovolenta has died after suffering a heart attack during an Italian fourth-tier match.

Bovolenta, who was to turn 38 in May, collapsed on the court during Volley Forli’s visit to Lube Macerata on Saturday.

He complained of dizziness and chest pains, reportedly telling team-mates: “Please help me, I’m falling.”

Attempts by medics to resuscitate Bovolenta failed and he was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

  113. ktr7 says:

In our 7 game winning streak we have scored 22 goals with 10 different players.in the league this season we have scored with 17 different players more than any other side in the division.1 man team?… 😀

  114. Adam says:

Wenger knows how good Diaby can be which is why he has stuck with him I imagine. I bought a smallish bar of chilli flavoured chocolate in Selfridges for about £8 and it was total rubbish. I wrote to the manufacturer and complained and they sent me a replacement which was even worse. But I am intrigued by AGAG’s recommendation. Cadburys chocolate seems more sickly to me these days though my wife seems to like the caramel one.

  115. DutchGooner10 says:

Hiya Adam talking intriguing recommendation. Check TubeRadio it’s YouTube meets I-tunes meets Spotify.

  116. rico says:

One man team my butt Kt….

Adam, Diaby reminds me of a film, not for the content but the title ‘Never Ending Story’….. 😉

Bornville is the best, DM is lovely, but two squares a night is enough for me 😉

  117. agirlagunner says:

rico, wasn’t he flirting with the Italian clubs?? He was saying all the right things up until the season ended and was complaining about lack of quality, his endless injuries (ha) etc. by June or something? Plus, he just had to mention that he owned a Spurs shirt. Lol.

If you will note KT, the press have nothing negative to write about, so there haven’t been that many articles in the tone of AFC in Crisis blah blah blah.

Adam, the champagne nama is tops. And not ridiculously expensive. 🙂 20 tile sized pcs for around 12 usd.

  118. rico says:

Ah yes, i recall now agag….

Off to get dinner now, i’m very hungry….

Back in a bit, if you have gone agag, nighty to you….

  119. Adam says:

Thanks for the heads up DG. AGAG.I shall try to locate that very stuff. The Lindt chilli chocolate is my only real indulgence in the world of confectionary. But, like the Redknapps, a little goes a long way.

  120. DutchGooner10 says:

No mention Adam. Those are the perks of our community.

I’m off for a while. Going for sate Ajam and Goreng rice.

Agag if you’re gone by then Nighty Night.

  121. devilgunner says:

Hiya folks. Just had a thought…..chelsea are 5 points from spurs and now seemingly even their europa league status is in danger. their only hope is to win the champions league.

if that happens the spuds will not take part. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

  122. agirlagunner says:

Good night, friends!! Easy on the pork chops and fried chicks, rico. Lol!! Sate ayam and Nasi goreng, Dutch?? My fave. You should go to Malaysia!

Adam, I remember some Englishmen buying Royce (available in most Japan airports) at the Kansai airport to take home. They had small thermal containers with them. Haha. 😉 And the Redknapps are unpalatable. Haha.

  123. rico says:

devil – i know, i truly do, it’s hard not to think about what might be but i see a twist or two yet…

Tbh, i would love the season to end now 😛

  124. DutchGooner10 says:

Well that’s what got me chuckling this weekend. Both of them drawing the short straw sharing points each.

  125. rico says:

That’s me done for the day guys, catch you all tomorrow on a very informative post from Merlin96 🙂

    Nighty all, stay safe…..

  126. DutchGooner10 says:

They will melt down like a candle in a microwave. I hope. Okay I wish. Ohhh well true…… I force
myself a unscrupulous consciousness that ignores reality and takes my enemies into oblivion by waving my magic wand.

  127. Scott From Oz says:

Morning boys and girls, and another great day to be a Gooner!!!!!
You’ve all certainly been busy in my absence.
There have been plenty I’d mini topics happening, but since this is an Arsenal forum,o woll touch on one.
I’m not sure if its an Aussie thing, but Max Bremers chocolate is the best I’ve tried!!!!!
I love chocolate, but in small doses, and have tried quite a few brands, but his is my fave.
Oh,and word has it he’s a Gooner(had to have some Arsenal connection) !!!!!
    Can anyone help?
A mate of mine is missing, and firends and family are distraught.
Were not sure what’s happened, but he can’t be fins for looking.
It seems to have coincided with King Kenny and his boys going on a run of losses, because god knows when they won and we lost,I’d get a hundred text messages the next day.
He’s been very, very quiet of late.
If was a cynical person,I’d say he is so embarrassed he can’t face me,but since Scousers are such a proud lot, surely he’d be wearing the shirt every day regardless.
Help me find my mate Milko please guys.
Whose turn is it to beat them next week hahahahahaha!!!!!!
He laughed his arse off when, after losing 8-2 to Utd,I wore my TV5 shirt out that day.
I told him I’m a Gooner every day,not just when they win.
The bragging rights these guys have given me are priceless.
Same as with Spurs fans…….if you expose your chin when things are going well,be prepared to cop one on it lol.
Why would you want so support another club?????

  128. allezkev says:

Absent Scousers, yes there’s been a lot of that about since 1990.
They pop up occassionally, usually following one of their many LUCKY cup wins,

  129. Scott From Oz says:

AK…..persistence has paid off…….I’ve located him.
Having an ale or two with him this arvo,so it will be an interesting few hours lol.

  130. Gunner4life says:

If we are to sign quality in the summer, it should be players that will help us beat the manchester teams by producing that magic or moment of brilliance when the game is in the balance or be a quality cover defender when one of our defenders are injured(vertonghen comes to mind). I mean if you look at the points at the moment, had we beaten the manchester teams so far this season, we would’ve been well in the title race because we would’ve had 67 points, manure would’ve had 64 points (manure beat us twice and therefore took six points from us) and man city would’ve had 67 points(man city beat us once and took 3 points from us). And I haven’t even pointed out the terrible start we had beginning of the season. We have the quality, just need that little extra to dominate our rivals. The above just shows how the media can exaggerate and blow things out of proportion(they probably do that on purpose to destabilise us). Its all in the mind gunners. IN ARSENE I TRUST!!!
