Surely his career is now over with us? Defender & Striker set for return….

After reports yesterday confirmed that Nicklas Bendtner will have a day in court for causing damage to five motor vehicles a few months back, if his career wasn’t already over with us, surely it is now?

I know we should all follow the golden rule of innocent until proven guilty but, I can’t see Wenger welcoming Nik back, not for one minute. One incident too many for the big Striker.

Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday that we have no new injury concerns ahead of this weekends clash with Sunderland, that’s if it goes ahead of course with all the bad weather. He also confirmed that Gibbs and Chamakh are fit and looking for a starting place, that’s good news on Gibbs, but as for Chamakh, I don’t think his return will get the Sunderland defence quaking in their boots, do you?

Other good news is Carl Jenkinson is roughly two weeks away from full training and as the fixtures are soon to come fast and furious again, his return will be more than welcome.

Frimpong had his surgery yesterday so now it’s a long road to recovery for the young lad, hopefully we will hear a bit more on how that went.

Wenger didn’t miss out on seeing Gervinho’s wonder goal for the Ivory Coast:

It was a cracking goal against Mali, they were the better side but he made the difference. They scored only one goal, Gervinho made it and you can basically say he scored it on his own because he started on the halfway line and finished in a cool way.

Sometimes he rushes his decisions a little bit but I was very happy that he kept calm and finished in a very controlled way.

That’s great news for his confidence and his country as well because I believe they are the best team in Africa by a big distance at the moment. Hopefully they will get rewarded in the final.

He creates those dangerous situations but the coolness he misses a little bit. That can help him to do that. I feel he proved that with us. Also, who doesn’t want to be a hero in his own country? That will help him to be recognised in his own country and therefore boost his confidence levels.

We saw it too Arsene and we all hope he can bring that kind of ‘coolness’ back to London with him, he has had so many chances in front of goal but on too many occasions he fluffs his lines at the vital moment. Now we all know what he can do, maybe now we’ll start to witness hm doing it for his club…

That’s about it for today guys and gals, bit of a rushed one as someone has to clear the snow!! 😉

Have a good day all….

    Morning all…

just been reading about Henry, no extended stay so won’t be facing the neighbours… oh well, we have chamakh……

  2. W.A.T.H says:

Bendtner and a few others should never ever be allowed anywhere near the Arsenal again……!

Lets hope we never see him and the others that we all know about ever again..!

  3. W.A.T.H says:

Wait til TH cries and begs red bulls to stay for the swampies….. it may work…? We need him around for that game just to get across his hatred of them to the rest of the squad and what it means to “US” to beat that shower of shit…!

  4. rico says:

Bendtner was a gonner before this incident i think – but just in case wenger was thinking of saving money, this should be enough eh 😉

  5. rico says:

Hope you are right for all the reasons you say, TH hates them and certainly need that ‘them v us’ drummed into a few of our boys….

    Whats a wadder? 😉

  6. UpTheArse says:

Thankfully I don’t think we will ever see Bendtner in an arsenal shirt again!! Would be great if TH could hang around a wee bit longer for the Spuds, to have his passion in the dressing room for that game would be a massive boost and you feel he just might fancy coming on for the last 15 and bagging the winner. Massive 6 games coming up!!!

  7. UpTheArse says:

Do we have it in us to get 2 wins away to Sunderland in 1 week? That coupled with and away trip to Milan. I have my doubts.

  8. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, nice quick one Rico but still good 🙂
I’m afraid i don’t share your views on Henry, Personally i didn’t think we needed him, i would have prefered a centre forward for the future, I don’t like mini fixes. Loans shows cheapness and i believe we are a better outfit than that. I believe Wenger was wrong bringing him in. Legend maybe, but in the past. We should be looking to the future. In my eyes if you have run out of players through injury or whatever you don’t have enough cover. We brag about our youth program and talk about our good youngsters and then as soon as we are short we loan players, while our youngsters are out on loan. . Some of these youngsters wait what seems forever to get a chance in the first team, and we loan outsiders.

  9. rico says:

The bigger question is what do Sunderland have in their tank after mid-week??

That was a tough game for them and we really need to make this count….

  10. W.A.T.H says:

I’m not talking about having TH for the game as a player SP I’m on about him being around the squad through the week and in the dressing room to make sure they know how important the yid game is and lets be honest he hates em and thats what we lack in the dressing room is a bit of passion.

Never ever was he the answer to the striker shortage and was on the cards thats all we were going to get, wenger ran with the hype and the good feelings TH brought out of the fans and then before you know it the transfer window closes and no proper striker to help RVP….! All TH did was get the fans off wengers back calling for a proper striker…! PLUS we still have that shit Moroccan around………. Enuff said…!

  11. rico says:

    Morning Steve, thanks …

With TH its more about what he can do off the pitch for the Spuds game, he knows what this fixture means to the fans…..

  12. Joaquim Moreira says:

    press:
“The hiring of Robin van Persie is a priority for Real Madrid and if the proposed 30 million pounds (35.7 million) does not arrive, Gonzalo Higuain come in a package to persuade Arsenal to negotiate the advanced Dutch 28 years.
The “Daily Mail” that advances the meringues fear interference from Manchester City and Barcelona, which also have Van Persie on their lists of reinforcements, but also reveals that Higuain, very pleased the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Chelsea and is intended by may prefer to move to Stamford Bridge.”

  13. stevepalmer1 says:

Understand what you and Wath are saying Rico and i know your right. But we had Park sitting and still sitting on his arse and taking a wage and we still don’t know if he can kick a ball or not.

  14. Joaquim Moreira says:

    press
Robin van Persie admits that playing at Real Madrid is a dream difficult to realize.
“I feel like a lot to play for Real Madrid,” said the striker, which however, has little hope for this outcome.
“Arsenal do not want to negotiate,” he notes, quoted by the newspaper “Marca”.
The killer Dutchman Robin van Persie, 28, is the new goal of Jose Mourinho to attack from Real Madrid for the season 2012/13. The advanced fulfills its eighth season at Arsenal. The contract ends in June 2013.

  15. allezkev says:

Good Morning all you happy Gooners.
    Good Morning Rico.
Very good post, short & sweet.
As with BFG, i think we’ll probably have to wait until next season to see the best of Gerv.
    Gibbs back is good.
    A question to you all.
Gibbs is available, Coq is available, midfield is full.
Who do you pick at left~back???

  16. rico says:

I wouldn’t play him Steve, not from the start but i’d sure have him of the bench, just his presence could be enough, get the fans buzzing which will get the players buzzing – Arry still fears TH..

But, agree re Park, we have all been saying when will he play, out the two right now, i’d rather TH on the bench, but rather Park than Chamakh if that makes sense…

  17. rico says:

Morning AK, short and sweet is often ok 😉

Coquelin for me, he’s a little battler…. Mind you, i’d rather a midfield with Arteta, Song and Coq away at Sunderland, Song and Coq both have a creative way about them and both can defend if we are up against it….

  18. W.A.T.H says:

We should get Higuain anyway the fella is class…..!

Coq to play 2moro for me AK in midfield, high tempo game will suit him and maybe rest Song for wednesday…??? Coq, Arteta n Rosicky in midfield..? Oh and morning to you Grandad, lazy git…. 😛

  19. W.A.T.H says:

oh and yes I’d agree with SP, Gibbs on the bench for me 2moro, start with Sagna, Merts, Kos n TV…..! Last 30mins for Gibbs to give him a decent run out….??

  20. stevepalmer1 says:

I don’t believe anybody that has been out a while should step straight back into a position. Bring him on by all means as a sub, but not from the start, Everybody should be fighting to get in, they should all be competetive and not take for granted that they step straight back in. RVP stepped straight back in and Chamakh suffered for it, i don’t think Chamakh would have lost his form quite so drasticly if Robin had fed back slowly. But Robin has proved how good he is

  21. rico says:

    Ok, five 😉

My only concern playing TV, Merts and Kos all this weekend, what happens if one of them pick up an injury??

That could well mean we head off to Italy with JD or Squlli in the side, or worse still, both 😮

  22. rico says:

There are some players Steve who by their quality alone will always slot straight back into a side, RvP is one of them, but I agree with you, Gibbs isn’t….

  23. W.A.T.H says:

They have all had a week to rest Rico, Tv or Kos come off after 60mins… Gotta play your best team for lge n CL and then see how everyone is for FA Cup next week, least that would be a good run for a few who on the fringes….?

  24. W.A.T.H says:

They’ve just had a weeks rest Rico, then they have a week for the yid game you cant tell me they cant play 2 out of 3 games in 7 days…?

  25. rico says:

Saying that though, for me personally – FA Cup and PL over the CL, so yes, strongest side for tomorrow and worry about Wednesday when it arrives,…..

  26. stevepalmer1 says:

I think the last thing we should be thinking about is if someone gets injured we should be thinking positive and look at it that we are fielding our best team, lets face it we are in the champions league this year and we have the 30 mill but we have to win our selves in for next years 30 mill. All the games are important and we should field our strongest all the time . Good substitutions to aid rest for everyone should keep the chance of injury down

  27. herphyz says:

Anyone remember TH14 said “i’ll never loose against spuds”? We just need the TH12 around to make the lads realise how much they need to hate our noisy neighbourz n get a win. A coq, arteta, ramsey wil do in d midle n rosicky startin in millan. Gibs shuld com 4 last 10mins n park is fucking far ahead of chamak. If rvp does liv then i reckon we should get a benzenma n dat come-and-get-me-arsenal-singing-turkish striker wit chamak headin to ancello-failure-psg. Bringin in a martin marvin in a deal with diaby goin the opposite way sounds nice. Clearin the likes of almunia, fabianski, squilaci getin one nice GK (schmicheal), vertogen, hazard or gotze or ajax eriksen wil make ma darling arsenal d team 2fear again. Sundaland1-3Arsenal. Milan1-2Arsenal….. Believe me

  28. DutchGooner10 says:

    Morning educated legion.

How deep must one shovel to call it a grave?? If Bendy was trying to bury his peanut brain he largely overdone it. A couple of digs with a tea spoon would’ve been sufficient.

  29. rico says:

herphyz, agree re TH, as for the signings, i’m waiting in hope for the summer, we’ll see…

    Morning DG – 🙂 re Nikki Pinkie…..

  30. UpTheArse says:

Agree with Steve, got to be our strongest 11 available for Saturday and Wednesday, which for me would be:
    Chez
    Sagna Mert Kos Verm
    Song Arteta
    Rosicky/Rambo
    Theo Ox
    RVP

  31. Micko says:

    Morning all,
Wath, it’s very reassuring having Henry about, but if any of the players need reminding how important the spurs game is then there is something very wrong at Arsenal, we have a score to settle, simple as that, and its the biggest game of the season for the fans, I can’t wait.

Park in December was probably thinking to himself Gerv and Chamakh are off in January, this is my chance to see some action, in comes Henry and he slips even further down the pecking order, fair play to him though, he hasn’t thrown any tantrums, just got on with it.
Dutch, how tall is a China man.

  32. W.A.T.H says:

I’d be getting Coq in there somewhere, he gives us tempo, bite and i just love his commitment, the boy can also play a bit….!

  33. rico says:

Micko – trouble is, half of them probably do, if not more – Arteta will know all about what a Derby means as he’s played in many big ones…

Sagna, RvP will but how many others??

Look at when we played them at SHL….

You coming over for the match ??

  34. rico says:

Scrap that, look at the last few seasons….. Apart from the CC 4-1 away win, we haven’t played them with enough fight and passion for the shirt of afc….

  35. W.A.T.H says:

Tha’s the prob in recent years though Micko i think they have lost the plot with the yids, most seem to rate the mancs and the chav as a bigger game and thats utter bollox….! the be all and end all is beating that shit twice a season……. the rest falls into place….!

  36. stevepalmer1 says:

I have to say that where ever we finish this year, we have definitly got a good team, we have players like the Ox Theo Van the man that can change a game with a blink of an eye, we have midfielders that are getting better all the time, we have a back line that are all good players and a keeper who is going to become one of the best, put together by a manager who whatever we think of him, has done it on a shoe string, We have a magnificent stadium and fantastic support, our club is running smothly and we have good finances, what we lack is consistancy and confidence, get that and we will be one of the best teams around. we have had our setbacks this year with injuries and suspensions with a few bad decisions, but having said that we are still challenging on nearly all fronts, we have a very good chance of winning somthing this year, and we are starting to get more of our players back, maybe not Jack and Santos maybe a while yet, but we are still strong enough to beat any out there. i don’t think we need too many new players as i think we have an overall good squad, and when our players realise that fact we may start picking up the trophies. COYG’s

  37. DutchGooner10 says:

    WATH

We are being targeted as responsible for a questionable atmosphere. But the heart and mind of the squad repeatedly seems to be in need of provoked behavior/attitude.

  38. rico says:

Wath, my own selection would be Song, Coq and Arteta in midfield…

    Steve

    GK
    Vertonghen
    Striker

    That would do me 🙂

  39. W.A.T.H says:

It’s a double edged sword question answer DG, should the team lift the crowd or should the crowd lift the team…?!?!?!?

There are times the crowd is pathetic but i still say the stewarding is so over the top the club are happy with a diluted happy clappy atmosphere and fans with passion are almost frowned upon however when the players seem like they going through the motions and can’t be arsed how can the team expect the fans to lift players that look like they’d rather be at home with their feet up..? Players who show passion commitment and attitude always get a response from the fans so one goes hand in hand with the other for me…!

  40. W.A.T.H says:

Risky that SP….. All so far totally unproven in the prem lge…!

Get rid of all the deadwood and those take their places for sure BUT we desperately need a top goalscorer to lessen the burden on RVP…!

  41. DutchGooner10 says:

Rico that didn’t escape my mindset either. 😉 Question remains; how illusive will this phenomenon be when Titti leaves in a few weeks?? Did the team had enough tasting to do it’s own cooking??

  42. DutchGooner10 says:

SP true, we’re not that far from a cracking team. Maybe RvP winning the golden boot this year will iron out the mixed bag of mental motions. Which makes it that more crucial he signs a new contract.

  43. Micko says:

rico, haven’t missed a spurs game in over 10 years, ain’t about to start now.

Dutch, the stadium can be eerily quiet at times, its a shame because it was designed to keep the noise in, the away supporters often take the pish out of us, having said that Barca last year was inbelievable, the place was rocking and whenever spurs, man u, chelsea turn up you’ll always get a great atmosphere.
Things got so desperate a couple of seasons back that the club tried to introduce a signing section in the now North Bank but it never took off !
Yet anybody would tell you we have one of the best set of travelling supporters in the league, they sing their hearts out for the club.

  44. rico says:

Someone posted here the other day about the mics are all set away from the home fans, think it was Adam or Potter – maybe thats why on TV it always sounds so quiet?

  45. Micko says:

Yep, Potter was saying that but the microphones are set up all around the pitch, it wasn’t a problem at Highbury, if you wanted a good old snooze you’d buy a ticket in the upper West Stand, if you wanted a good old sing song the lower East Stand was the place to be.

  46. DutchGooner10 says:

Micko the Ems longs for the days of Highbury. It would help if stewardship allows it to be a football match instead of a tennis court. Although, the marathons of tiky taky in our style are to blame as well. Our travelers have done us justice, collecting rave reviews from the press. Pride and glory is still in our DNA, it just needs more than a petri dish.

  47. W.A.T.H says:

Micko, the other prob is half the divs and tourists that turn up at the spacebowl these days also have no idea what the NLD actually means to proper fans who no longer can afford it or can’t get tkts….!

  48. rico says:

🙂 Micko, i wathed the citeh game the other day, couldn’t believe that some of their fans were asleep….

    on the other hand …..

  49. allezkev says:

For me, Arteta has to play in all the next 3 games.
I’d save Rosicky for Milan as that game will be more tactical and technical and should suit him.

  50. allezkev says:

I’d use Coquelin in both the Sunderland games. He’d do just fine in the bullshit?& bollocks of playing them.

  51. W.A.T.H says:

Can I please have bread pudding…?

Hmmmm not a bad pick of players for the various games there Grandad…! I’d agree with your choices actually…!

  52. W.A.T.H says:

The only one that really bothers me DG is Pato…… The rest blow hot n cold, their midfield and defense is very average…! We get at em we’ll score goals…!

  53. rico says:

I tried to watch the AC V Juve match – boring boring boring …..

If we play at the top of our game, we’ll come home with a win… 🙂

  54. DutchGooner10 says:

    Rico WHAT

That’s my concern a bit the Italian Catenaccio style. Bore you to death, then put you on a stick.

Milan, currently sits 2nd, scored most goals in serie A (43). Italy suits Robinho/Zlatan better than England/Spain did. Also a number of experienced heads that fancy a night in the limelight.

But hey, I will go with optimism and run with it. Catch us if you can Salami Boys.

    COYG.

  55. rico says:

🙂 DG – but, we have RvP and the Ox, we can win IF and that is a big IF, the team travel to italy in the right frame of mind….

  56. EastSidePaul says:

How about we start selling the dead weight in the squad, 50-100k a piece, Denilson, Bendtner, Almunia, Diaby, Arshavin, Chamakh, Squillaci and Djourou (have we given this guy a new contract?!)

Its all they’re worth, and think of the savings with the contracts.

  57. EastSidePaul says:

I’m sure a russian side would take Arshavin for a cool 75k!
Then, come summer, 3 newly promoted clubs, would love to take some of those duds for between 50-100k each. OR even some of the newly relegated clubs.

Its pretty sad that as with last year we are putting our hopes on a kid (And a player made of glass to stay fit).

  58. rico says:

If they were on a sensible wage, the ‘duds’ would have gone in the summer ESP, reality is they are happy to stay with us for a huge wage, regardless of wehther they play or not…

If they wanted to football ahead of money, each one could have found a club….

  59. DutchGooner10 says:

    ESP

I said a few weeks ago RvP is lucky the club/AW kept him around. He could’ve so easily been a professional football nomad going from employer to employer like Robben.

  60. EastSidePaul says:

Thats why I am setting the price for the duds so low, clubs will see the low price and take them on their wages for 3 years or so.

  61. Micko says:

Dutch, that squad you put out has a lot of experience in it, some pasta their best it must be said, but still very dangerous.

Paul, looks like you may have dodged a bullet in March !

  62. EastSidePaul says:

    Ha maybe so Micko!
Still its a shame that i’ll be missing it, have yet to see Arsenal win a game live!

  63. Micko says:

The sooner you get that monkey off your back the better, no emirates cup this time round either because of the euro’s i’ve heard.

  64. rico says:

    DG 😛

Friday night and all that, so i’m heading off for the day all…..

You all stay safe and chat tomorrow…

    Nighty night all….

  65. DutchGooner10 says:

Goes to a American car sale parking to buy a Hummer. Borat asks if the salesman can install a pussymagnet. 🙂

  66. Muffdive says:

Bendtner won’t be coming back, he is toast at the club and the main priority has to be to all maintain his transfer value. I want to know what happened to chamakh ? Ever since he went through 1on1 against that lot and looked like he was treading water it’s been all down hill. What has happened to him? is he suffering because of the form of Rvp or the system we play.

  67. W.A.T.H says:

Who’s 2am is that Scott you need to be far more specific fella….

Leave those bloody sheep alone just cos its a friday night no getting all frisky now…..! If ya generator runs out shout and I’ll send you some duracells over ASAP…!

  70. W.A.T.H says:

lol thats funny Dg… although not 4 the passengers I may add 😉

Nope only done half a bottle so far…… I am such a liteweight…!

Anyone seen Wengers comments on dot com… seems he must of got a slapped wrist from someone upstairs… he’s now specified he needs to make 15bar a yr to pay the stadium debt which elaborates on his comments the otehr day about needing to make 15/20 bar before he can buy…. Maybe genius should mention our matchday costs and income compared to what we used to get an Highbury and all those false promises about top class player purchases when we move…. So typical and such utter bollox…!

  71. DutchGooner10 says:

Haven’t seen it WHAT, it might be something that will turn up in the post tomorrow.

Reading your summary, I say he should sell players before they kill their market value.Bender and Denialson.

Speaking of funny. I have been missing Lee this week.

What you call dog with no legs?Don’t matter what you call him, he ain’t gonna come. 😀

  72. W.A.T.H says:

DG your getting worse mate 😉 Don’t quit your day job…. Poor dog I say !!

Lee is always missed when his witty comments are not thrown in amongst our drivel….! He’ll be back when he’s not busy…!!

Go visit dot com DG you’ll see what wenger says about making money and paying the debt, thats not what he said earlier in the week so someone has told him to clarify what he said for sure….!

Here we are waiting for Scott and his generator has broken down and he’s got no batteries left I reckon…. rubber bands work Scott wind em up and away they go generates electricity… it’s what my mate does in Zimbabwe…! 😉 he also has a treadmill he reckons it works wonders keeps him fit and does the tv…..!

  73. W.A.T.H says:

Talking of passengers I wonder if Grandad has behaved himself 2nite and not been abusive to anyone…! He’s as good as gold when he looking fora decent tip….

    I couldn’t tip shit out of a bucket but I reckon race 4 horse 5 at Kempton 2moro is a winner………………….!!.

  75. W.A.T.H says:

Thing is though DG helps a shitload when the Mules are paying you 7million a year so either way you don’t give a fuck…!

Our problem is deciding who is most full of shit the mules or the donkey on the leash………………………

  76. DutchGooner10 says:

Gazidis recent statements reminds me WATH. The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

  77. W.A.T.H says:

Mate your not wrong……. I think Gazyido is a slimy smarky yank bullshitting prick……! What the fuck he does at the club apart from earn an exorbitant salary is beyond me… him and his “large” group of execs who also earn huge salaries have brought fuck all to the club and they been there 2/3 years now and what have wee seen in return….. Nothing… oh higher ticket prices… yippee…!

  78. DutchGooner10 says:

I may not know much, but I know the difference between chicken shit and chicken salad. And we are being plucked. So that means no corn costs to feed us.

  79. W.A.T.H says:

  80. DutchGooner10 says:

We are indeed DG……… half truths…. lies bullshit and deceipt…!

Take it easy DG chat 2moro mate…!

  82. allezkev says:

Shit,I will have to pay the bloody electricity bill!!!!
Heading out for dinner now…a few more beers will be sunk.
I will still be up watching the pricks at Old Trafford, then the fun begins.
Lads and ladies……..we WILL be winning tonight.
