Sulky, Sullen and often Arrogant!! Glad Henry has returned??

The return of King Henry has certainly exercised the minds of many Arsenal bloggers in recent days. Everyone it seems, has their own theory as to how and why he is back?

Don't knock his return, relish it........

For me being able to come here & train, being in the dressing room & seeing all the training staff, I have no words to describe it. To wear the jersey one more time, I can only be honoured.

People think I’m just saying that, but when I left this club I cried, and I cried for the statue. I haven’t cried a lot in my career but when I do it seems something is happening with Arsenal.

Mischief makers have been spreading rumours of discontent, especially among some of the younger members of the squad concerning Henry’s return. These rumours rumbled along briefly before rapidly disappearing from where they first came and that is back into those mischief makers imagination!!

Personally – I fully welcome the return of Thierry Henry.

He will give the majority of Arsenal fans a boost and something to anticipate during the months of January and February.

Of course I’m under no illusion that TH12’s signing is borne out of the usual rule of thumb used by our management and spendthrift Board, that is of course, cost effectiveness!

Arsene Wenger knows exactly what he will get from Thierry and he has already had an insight into the relationship that TH12 will have with his new and temporary team mates, having seen how everyone interacted during TH12’s period of training since he has been with us.

Maybe the attention focussed onto Henry will work in a positive way by diverting the spotlight away from other squad members like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ryo etc, therefore allowing less fuss to be made when they actually start playing more often.

Youngsters like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ryo Miyaichi and Benik Afobe, can only benefit from working and learning alongside Henry, just as Henry benefitted and learned from training with Dennis Bergkamp.

It still isn’t clear how Wenger intends to use Henry…

Many, myself included, believe that TH12 will be used as an ‘impact substitute’, coming off of the bench against tiring opponents with 15 to 20 minutes remaining and to give van Persie a breather, or when we desperately need a goal.

How much more comforting will it be for Arsenal fans to see Henry coming on instead of the out of form and out of confidence duo of Arshavin and Chamakh.

Robin has gone away to sunny shores for a break and Wenger has confirmed that our new Number 12 will be in the squad to face Leeds on Monday. Just how fantastic is that? The FA Cup, a home fixture with The Emirates no doubt full to the brim, nothing more than the player deserves….

I know that a few Gooners have mixed feelings about King Henry’s return but I’m going to enjoy every moment that he’s on the pitch in an Arsenal shirt.

It’s not often we have the chance to view a living legend in action for our club.

Don’t moan about it. Relish it….

    Morning All

Another cracker AK, thank you – it’s been sat waiting for the deal to be confirmed so here it is 🙂

I am chuffed TH12 is back, not only to help out on the pitch but I also think he has a role to play on the training field too…

Really looking forward to seeing him play again in the red and white on Monday night, however:

He is a great short term solution but long term, we need more than just TH up front although I doubt if we will see that signing in Jan….

  2. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all,
    Top post Sir AK
I must admit the thought of Henry back, at first went against the grain, i would like us planning for the future not reserecting old legends, but the way you describe it makes it a bit more paletable, but he is still 34 and a couple of months, love a duck.
Temperary Talent does not work in my eyes, when he goes Chamakh comes back oh goody am i looking forward to that. In my eyes we could of paid his wages to a new young experienced striker and shown a bit of commitment for the future but at the moment we only have Chamakh to look forward to. It could be a long second half to the season. But still a good Post.

  3. rico says:

    Morning Steve

TH12 is not the longterm solution but we are so desperate up front, if its between the man or no-one then it can only be good – we have to pray that whilst Chamakh is away he finds some form, not that i expect him to….

Maybe Park will shock us all…. 😮

Or just maybe the Suarez rumour will have some truth….

  4. stevepalmer1 says:

If what AK say’s about Van the man taking in some rays is true Looks like we are not taking any other competition seriously. Wouldn’t want Robin too tired, without him we are in Shit Street, OH sorry, we are without him, even when his fit.

  5. goonster says:

Morning all, the king Is back! Now get suarez and gourcuff and we are a title winning side again. Come on arsenal.

  6. goonster says:

Yeah gourcuff! I won’t quit on him till the TW is over. There’s no smoke without fire. Morning Steve you can say that again. Am so chuffed. Wish I could be at the game. I ll show you guys some fun “arnherm style”.

  7. rico says:

Nothing against him goonster but i’m talking about what we really need in this transfer window and for me personally, that is a goal scorer, then a defender. Get to the summer, offload the likes of Diaby, Rosicky, Arshavin etc and then buy what we need again.

If we were to get Gourcuff, what happens to Jack, Ramsey, Arteta?

  8. rico says:

goonster, if the club announced we had signed him, i wouldn’t be disapointed, honest. just think we need to prioritise….

but in reality, we know we won’t sign anyone other than Bridge on loan…..

  9. goonster says:

They play different roles maam. Gourcuff sits just behind the striker. Jack and arteta are both deep lying mid fielders. Besides what happens if ramsey picks up an injury and jack does a “rosciky! What happens then? We need a new play maker. Gourcuff fits the bill.

  10. rico says:

He’s a creative midfielder goonster, just like arteta and ramsey….

what if any player picks up an injury??

  11. STV says:

    Morning Rico, that;s done. 8)

I’d rather no defenders this window and vertagoun in aug than kieren /bridge move

  12. rico says:

    Hi Stv,

Vertonghen for me too, he’d be the perfect solution to the defence and midfield.

But, sadly, we won’t get any signings this month other than a loan at Lb….

I’m not even going to bother getting my hopes up… 😉

  13. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Good morning.
    title winning side again? how?
Miss 18 games. 54 points. For be in 1st, 2nd or 3th, we need at least, more 40 points and Mans and totts only win arround 30 points… or lost arround 8 games each one. So, in the best improve, we can drop only 12/14 points and probably, will not be enought. So, the conclusion obvous is: those 3+2 points drop versus Fulham and those 2 points deop versus wolves were dramatic.

  14. alan b'stard M P says:

Gourcoff has nearly 200 top flight games and scored 5 goals

It could be argued after a few pints I could do better

  15. rico says:

    Morning JM,

dropping those points was shocking, had we not, we would be right up there with a chance, now though it seems as we are fighting for 4th, maybe 3rd if the chavs and totts drop points….

  16. stevepalmer1 says:

If we buy anybody, we won’t have heard of them thats for sure unless their cheap, and nobody else wants them

  17. STV says:

True rico.. but theres absoulutely no excuse for not bringing a goal scoring winger/ striker.
even an idiot can see that’s where our main problem lies.

lets wait n see what happens 🙁

  18. goonster says:

Matias suarez looks certain guys. Its all over the news here. Hope it turn out to be true. This guy is gervinho with end product!

  19. stevepalmer1 says:

All this talk about strikers, whats so dificult to understand, two strikers head off to the ACON for a month and we loan a player for two, two players come back tired or injured and we have a legend to hold our team together. bit hard to sell a player when he’s playing for his country so Chamakh’s with us till the summer, Gervinho will just slot back in like nothings happened and Henry goes shopping how’s that for simplicity.

  20. STV says:

Gervinho Walcott Chamakh Park Arshavin.. they scored a combined 10 goal whole this season. (7 in league).

    Thats inadiquate am afraid.

  21. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners.
Morning Rico. Good sub~edit there boss. 🙂
    Thanks Sir Steve. 🙂
Wenger may wait & see how Ox performs before ‘splashing out’ on a strikwr
    lata

  22. goonster says:

Thanks STV this whole staninho business is taking its toll on me. My reputation is at stake here guys. My mates read this blog for Pete’s sake. Am the laughing stock of the group. It used to pieter vonk now its me. So sad.

  23. goonster says:

Wow its taken a new turn guys. The Belgian tabloids are all running the story. God make it true.*fingers crossed*

  24. Marinello says:

Morning Rico, Steve, Goonster. Good post Allezkev. I agree that having Henry for this short period is going to be better than seeing Arshavin and Chamakh go through the motions… But long term the club need to show its intent by buying at least 3 quality players and oFf loading the dead wood that we have accrued. Hope we don’t see too much of the Henry stare when Walcott cannot place the ball exactly where Henry wants it. It can be quite intimidating to some players….
Here’s to seeing the team comfortably beat Leeds and get back onto a winning run.

  25. rico says:

    Morning Marinello…

Hoped all the dead wood would have gone last summer, this summer it is a must, get rid off a few salaries which are not deserved and use that to fund a few quality signings and move this team forward finally…

Monday, a tough match but the return of TH12 could just lift a few spirits….

  26. allezkev on tea break says:

    Thanks Marinello.
SSP, i fully understand your reservations and of course respect your considered opinion. But to me TH12 is a no~brainer. Tbh there’s really very little chance of Arsenal buying the type of player we want this January. I, like everyone else, has a wish~list, but we know our club Steve, we know they hate to spend money, and i don’t expect to see them spend bugger all this Window.
So the choice mate is stark. TH12. Or nobody!!!

  27. rico says:

Ah, thanks goonster, i’ll believe it when its on afc.com, so never 😉

Sadly, it seems looking likely to be just that AKotb, TH12 or nobody…..

  28. allezkev on tea break says:

Rico, what’s all the fuss over this Suarez geezer?
Any legs or the usual agent inspired rubbish?

  29. audu nurudeen says:

TH12 shld be strtin the game on monday.hpin for a 2nd debut goal frm the king.my fellow gunners don’t get your hopes high with all the rumours doing the round.

  30. goonster says:

Hey Ak where have you been buddy? Suarez looks the part Ak I wouldn’t knock if were you. Morning audu I asked for your view on taye taiwo but you didn’t respond so am asking again.

  31. allezkev on tea break says:

Rico, Wenger will point to Ox & Ryo as reasons not to buy.
Hope they’re both involved in the FACup btw.
Then we have Afobe returning from a long injury.
Could possibly see him involved in the squad by the end of the month?
Then Campbell to join us, hopefully, next summer.
Maybe all this linkage to strikers is just Wenger covering all the bases IF RVP actually does decide to join the exodus?
    Not a good thought!

  32. allezkev on tea break says:

Stan i’m in London working. Somebody has to make sure Adam gets home safely…
So you really rate this Suarez then Stan?
What kind of fee is being mooted?

  33. goonster says:

In the region of 10m Ak. Apparently anderletch are Willing to listen to any offer and the player himself is looking for a “big” move. He’s a typical wenger signing Ak good on the ball and can play anywhere up top. He’s right footed though!

  34. Marinello says:

Has anyone got any stats on Suarez?
Any news on the Blades reserve keeper being signed?
I’d love to see Demba ba in an Arsenal shirt. Pardew took a gamble where a lot of clubs wouldn’t because of his injuries. But watching him terrorise the Mancs the other day, what a powerful striker he is.

  35. goonster says:

14 goals in 25 games marinello and he’s the highest goal scorer presently in the Europa league. I ll take demba BA in a minute but we know wenger won’t .

  36. John says:

Same with the question of his legacy after around nearly 80% said his return will not destroy his legendary status if it goes badly. I think the other 20% are none Arsenal fans. The Legend return can not wait until he plays or comes on against Leeds.

  37. stevepalmer1 says:

I must admit Demba Ba could seem like a good buy But in all honesty i don’t think he would fit in with our style of play, he seems to like a tussle he looks to be built pretty big but didn’t look very quick to me, i doubt that even if Wenger was interested we wouldn’t get him. Wenger has left it very late to do business in the market in the past wouldn’t suprise me if he does buy, but it will be last minute. Wenger tends to look at a player for some time before he buys, and likes to look into everything, suprising that he buys so many duff players. I hear he has his eye on Vertonghen, and he’s been interested since TV came but dont count on it. I honesly thought Cahill was going to be a gooner and look how that has turned out.

  38. Marinello says:

I agree John. Not big money really when you think what Liverpool paid for Carrol, and he hasn’t exactly set the place on fire has he?
I really hope Oxlade Chaberlain gets a game against Leeds. He must question why Chamakh or Arshavin get the nod over him. He has all the makings of a great player. He’s young, shows no fear and is not intimidated at all when he plays against so called star players. He needs to play more of a part in more games.

  39. Marinello says:

I wonder if Sunderland will buy Nicky “pink boots.” O’Neil might send him back, and then Arsene may be tempted to play him…..

  40. stevepalmer1 says:

Marinello, perhaps Wengers waiting for the Ox to age a bit, he seems to be going for the older model nowadays.

  41. allezkev says:

    Marinello, you can’t be serious……
A legend like Bendtner joining Sunderland.
    You must be joking??? 🙂
No mate, in Bendtner’s mind [ a strange place indeed ] he is due a move to the Camp Nou or San Siro or Allianze Arena.
Tbh, he’ll lucky to get a move to Highbury…
    That’s Highbury in Fleetwood.

  42. allezkev says:

Gotta say, what with our injuries and the need to rotate and protect in the game vs Leeds.
It’ll be interesting to see how our defence lines~up this Monday?

  43. DutchGooner10 says:

    Hi Everyone,

Ox,Ryo,Park, all played a full 90minutes for the reserves. Ended in 0-2 defeat to Sunderland and shallow reports on their contributions. After 4 consecutive defeats our second string are also struggling for form. Sobering experience as I recall their yesteryear dominance.

Nostalgia is a dangerous thing. It can flatter to deceive. Our 125 years anniversary has had little to celebrate. Feels like Henry’s Phoenix resurrection is partly made to lighten up the festive mood.

  44. stevepalmer1 says:

DutchG we have done unbelievable to climb from 17th to where we are now but we would need an absolute miracle to do any better with the team we have. so Henry may help a little but he won’t change our season, decent signings is the only solution, Wenger has said he intends not to buy but he has said le may consider loans, he will only buy if somebody comes along that betters his squad, and as we know that could be a whole lot of people. He has shown in the past that he will only pay relatively small amounts and if you pay peanuts you get Chamakhs. things will not improve there is only one way we can go with this kind of attitude and its not to the top.

  45. DutchGooner10 says:

    Steve

    Agree 🙂
Wenger’s dynasty is relatively low on quality stock to keep any momentum flourishing. A season can fluctuate in performance but if you have to pull your hair on costly mistakes you better grow a beard. Easy to stroke as you portray concern while you lean on theatrical intellect.

  46. Lee says:

Top post SAK as per…… If we’re lucky we’ll get a loanee LB and that’s all folks!! We really need to kick on from now until may but when TH12 goes back to the US we’re left with MC & AA….. No intent at all….

  47. allezkev says:

DG10. I wouldn’t read too much into the 2~0 defeat for the stiffs. The defence & m/f were fairly ordinary and we were chasing the game from quite early. Mix a bit more experience & quality with Ryo, Ox & Park, should see a marked improvement in their performance. Not that i expect all 3 to start the game. I suspect Chamakh & Arshavin will be in the mix somewhere.

  48. stevepalmer1 says:

Hi Lee ffing frustrating, when we all know who are letting us down. but they still keep getting fielded. I can understand that some of the players we would like to move on, we can’t because of no intrest or contracts, but an error in judgement in the past is not an excuse to stop trying. Mancini’s Shiek has spent 500 million since he took over and they are still looking to buy in this window as well. A lot of money i must admit, but like Abromovitch Mansoor will keep spending untill they get the results. us were just a feeder club for the eventual winners

  49. allezkev says:

Hi Lee. A little bit. But i’m spending a lot of time parked up.
The private schools are back next week. That should see things perk up.

  50. allezkev says:

Steve, we need an owner, whose priority is Arsenal Football Club.
At the moment our club is just a part of Absent Stan’s portfolio…

  51. DutchGooner10 says:

    AK

Wenger has called the Morroc FA if he could delay MC’s report for duty.
So think he will start. Indeed AA could be in the mix as well given Forehead has already caught his flight.

Still Ox could deputise for Walcott who needs a reminder that competition is knocking on his door. Ryo and Park on the bench.

  52. allezkev says:

DG i think you are right mate. A front 3 of Chamakh, Arshavin & Ox.
I hope that Ozyakup is involved as he is a very interesting player.

  53. allezkev says:

STV. We’ll never really know mate, because he is the Invisible Owner.
And will that situation change over the forthcoming years?
Of course not, he’s not about to up sticks and move to Upper Holloway is he…?!
We have the rediculous situation of an absent owner.
    For the forseeable future.

  54. DutchGooner10 says:

    AK

Ozy is relatively unknown here in Holland due to his tender age when he left. Exiting prospect though from the glaring reports he receives.

  55. allezkev says:

DG10, i’ve got a hunch that you might see him back in the Nederlands on loan by the end of January.
    Feyenoord would be good. 🙂

  56. stevepalmer1 says:

I am coming round to your way of thinking S.Kev, after a nights chat with Wath and my friendly bottle of GG things started to become clear, While Silent is on the Throne we can look forward to a few more seasons like we have had, Unless an offer comes in that cannot be ignored, we will just have to wait it out.

  57. agirlagunner says:

Boo!! Another poor post, Sir AK. 😀 😀 Howdy??

Can’t wait to see Thierry in action, but I’m managing my expectations. 🙂

Hello, rico! Where are ya? Hi, Dutch!

  58. STV says:

True mate.. No body can help the situation ! and thats ridiculous

DG is there any chance we get Ericksen in summer. Seen him play, exiting player !!

  59. Marinello says:

Quality name “forehead” DutchGooner, gave me a chuckle.
I bet Old Etonian Hill Wood couldn’t believe his luck when Stan accrued controlling shares, and has just left things as they were with no real involvement at the Club.
The team and Arsene have done well to climb the league table as Steve said, but what realistic finish can we expect, 4th or 5th? Still maybe a run in the Cup, and hopefully get some of the injured players back and maybe a Wembley appearance….. Can only dream I suppose.

  60. allezkev says:

Yes that GG can have you up all hours of the night, talking to all kinds of people.
    Hi agag…. 🙂

  61. agirlagunner says:

Hello, Marinello, STV. 🙂 Sir Steve, Silent Stan is such a disappointment. Our club seems directionless still. 🙁 Easy on the GG, that’s stuff you like more the more you have of it. 😀

AK, busy bee again? I hope you’re no longer flu-ey! 😉

  62. DutchGooner10 says:

I believe DB10 is keeping tabs on Erickson’s progress. He has already recommended him to AW as you may well know. At the moment Ajax is caught in a.leadership battle that even took them to court. Their Commission of Recommendations has turned into snake pit. Cruyf is against the appointment of Louis van Gaal as Technical Director. (Can be seen as Vieira’s position at Shitty.)

So a summer deal could materialize I think as he would jump ship.

  63. allezkev says:

Agag i am all flued up.
But just driving down Oxford St.
Wow the shops. 50% off, 75% off.
You would be in flexible friend heaven. 🙂
    Best thing for flu?
Treat myself to a pair of shoes. :-). :-). 🙁

  64. agirlagunner says:

Dutch, how good is this Erickson?

AK, oohhhh. Exactly my cuppa. Careful, AK. Shoes are like GG, too. The more you have the more you want. 😛

  65. DutchGooner10 says:

Hi Agag. ( Funny thing and a bit cheeky to confess but my auto-correct turns your acronym into ‘shag’ everytime.) Lol

Marinello maybe you like this one as well. Dolphin that surface to blow his hole.

    AK

Feyenoord is strapped for cash at the moment. Struggling to take on any extra costs.

  66. stevepalmer1 says:

DutchG the way things are going here we’ll be jumping too,
Hi Agag, got it under control only drink till my dissapointment dissapears but the bugger comes back in the morning. Hope your well.
Every window brings dissapointment and the odd new player, not knocking the players from last window. But who had any idea who was coming, Arteta although he has been pretty good who ever thought of him. Merts was a name that someone on here mentioned in debate, and Benny where did that come from, lets face it if anyone comes this window you wouldn’t have guessed it in a million years. Maybe the Goonerette might she comes up with a new name every day.

  67. allezkev says:

DG10. Thought they wanted Ryo back?
Btw DG10. By shag, do you mean ready~rubbed tobacco?
    Coffee~shop maybe? 🙂

  68. agirlagunner says:

Dutch, I think you’re phone is on the GG as well. 😀 Is there anyone/anything who’s/that’s not on GG?? 😛

Steve, well, our club has not, in recent history, bought anyone whom fans really wanted. I understand there are financial constraints blah blah blah, but even if we were making boatloads of cash, I have a hunch we’ll go for the bargain basement players. 😉 I must say, (not that they are bargain basement), for players that did not command mad money, the Vermaelen and Kozzer purchases have turned out fantastically well.

goonerette has a knack for spotting players whom we would never buy. Mata, Alvarez, now Gourcuff and even Granero. 😉

  69. DutchGooner10 says:

    Agag

Erickson might be best described as a like-for-like replacement for Fab. Think that he will offer more value than Gotze. Not that hyped his price tag will go as a discount. He makes penetrating runs as well as passes. His shooting range starts at 35 yards and is thumping. Creatively shields the ball, opens play by positioning and has a bag of tricks/flicks.

  70. DutchGooner10 says:

    AK

Currently Feyenoord are roaming the Dutch league for transfers bought by third party investors. A loanee won’t give any return of investment. They’re financially constrained when they have pay out of their own pockets.

Maybe they have reserved the cash for Ryo from the initial interest. Knowing AW would reassess a loan in January.

  71. rico says:

Just watching ‘A League of Their Own’ ‘best bits…

Gary Neville is on there 🙂

Corden asked him what provoked the tunnel bust up at Highbury between Paddy and Keane…

Neville said that our team was pissed off after the bad tackles on Reyes at OT and Paddy said to Neville…:

‘You aint doing that here at Highbury you F*****g W****r… 😛

  72. rico says:

    Its a Sky Sports story:

Bosnian starlet Edin Visca claims Arsenal have expressed an interest in his services, but he is refusing to read too much into the reports.

The 21-year-old winger has spent less than six months in Turkey with Istanbul BB, but he could be on the move again during the winter transfer window.

He says Arsenal are monitoring his progress, with Arsene Wenger always on the lookout for players of considerable potential.

  73. agirlagunner says:

Hello, rico. 🙂 Howdy? Dutch, now that bit on Erickson is promising. To be compared to Fab… Goody!

STV, haha on Edin something Or Other… 😉

Steve, it is actually a bit disheartening, how our Board so lacks in ambition. We keep on bringing learners to sell at a profit, and players no one has really heard of who would not be played. Tut tut.

  74. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hello!
from Istambul BB? well is not a good “image”. If it is from Glatsaray, Fenerbahce or Besiktas ok. From istambul BB is a unknow international team.

  75. STV says:

Rico we were interested in him supposidly but there will be a strong challenge from man utd if bid him in summer.

  76. rico says:

Hi DG10, that’s cruel, we’ll see what he can do and then realsie we have no chance of signing him 😉

  77. Marinello says:

Thinking of the Leeds game, I remember going to Wembley in 68 when we played them in the League Cup final and lost 0-1. Jack Charlton impeded Bob Wilson and I think Mick Jones scored and that was it, all over. They had some right niggly players then, Bremner, Giles, Hunter. We had Storey, and McLintock who could both dig.

  78. stevepalmer1 says:

I remember the game Marinello Norman bites your leg and Storey breaks it, Lorimer had some shot on him as well in those days as i remember.

  79. DutchGooner10 says:

I actually think having the aura of DB10 around him can be a trigger mechanism. If Erickson pays any attention to grooming mental class as superbly as his technical ability he might acknowledge us as his next destination. He is similar in his attitude as the Ice Man. Limelight is fine but not the goal.

  80. Joaquim Moreira says:

Marinello, was in 68? Those players played also until 1972. when we lost 1-0, goal scored by alan clarke ?

  81. DutchGooner10 says:

Various outlets put Germany and Spain as Euros Favorites. Holland as dangerous outsiders. We have a difficult group stage. Must win 2 from 3 to go through. Pool of death with Germany,Portugal and Denmark (Erickson).

  82. Lee says:

Probably spend some time thinking of how he,ll spend his £120k+ next contract…..but then if the waiter gets £50k Robin’s worth shed loads!!!!

  83. Marinello says:

Joaquim, I got the keeper wrong. We had Jim “Fingers” Furnell in goal. Terry Cooper scored the goal. Leeds had a keeper called Gary Sprake, famous for foopahs. He once went to throw the ball out, spun round and threw the ball into his own net. Not even Flappianski or Manone has done that. Don Revie kept that team together for years.

  84. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, Gary Sprake. Was the goalkeeper for many years. Does Leeds have now a goalkeeper like Sprake?

  85. rico says:

you are lucky steev, when i placed it was all that and good old winter rules 😉 Me full of greens, what are you trying to suggest, i’m full of wind 😉

What a load of garbage that article is, typical TalkS***e

Steve, don’t forget the yellows – sweetcorn 😉

    Joaquim,
Sprake was a welsh international at the time. Not sure who is in goal for Leeds now. At the end of the day, we should beat Leeds. Will be a great night with Henry making his debut. The crowd will be up for it, worth a goal start.
Back to 68, we went back to Wembley in 69 and lost 3-1 to Don Rogers, well Swindon. The Arse had a flu bug that went through the team, a week before the game. But then a year later, McLintock lifted the Fairs Cup at Highbury. I was there, what a night. The start of the double winning team and all that. Should have kept that team together a bit longer.

Actually trying to give up on the tobacco. Yet find it far too satisfactory after a meal.

  89. Joaquim Moreira says:

yes, Marinello but Sprake was a joke. Of course the times are changing, but nowadays, he will be worst them Almunia, Fabiansky or Manone

  90. Micko says:

Evening all, just a quickie, heard that Thierry’s first words when he turned up at Arsenal and saw the trophy cabinet were “Wow, its exactly as I left it”

Rico, the best thing for wind is a kite !

Kev, don’t give up your day job.
