Striker scouted 4 times last month! We all know what happened next & Taxi for Bendtner…..

Morning all.

Inevitable I guess. All the players are clearly disappointed to be out of the Champions League but now they want to push on in the league and FA Cup.

Lukasz Fabianski:

Hopefully it will give us the same as it gave us last season where we went on a really good run. We are still competing for the title, we are still competing for the FA Cup so hopefully it will give us a massive boost for the rest of the season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain:

There are definitely positives for us to take from this performance and we can take that into the league and into the rest of the FA Cup [campaign].

Football’s about picking yourself up from defeats and bouncing back. That’s what we’ve got to do now. We’ve got a really good game coming up on Sunday, one that all the fans want to win and we want to win.

It’s a massive game for not only the Club and for the city and the rivalry, it’s also a big opportunity for us to stake a claim on the league, so we’ll be looking to do that and bounce back. We’ll get over this as quick as we can.

Thomas Vermaelen:

The result wasn’t great for us to go through but you always need to take the positives out of it. We worked hard and at the end of the day that is what you need to get results.

We are still up there in the Premier League and we are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup so there is a lot to play for.

They are all right I guess, going to Bayern Munich and coming away with a draw would have been a success on any other night than one where we needed more goals but the players need to pick their chins up off of the floor and look forward.

This time last season, being knocked out of the Champions League spurred us on to a really good run in the league, in fact we didn’t lose another game.

Unlike last season though, we still have a chance of winning the league and the FA Cup so there’s a lot to fight for.

If we can replicate last seasons form from now until the end of May, we may just get that ‘9 years without a trophy’ label off of our backs….

We’ll have to do it without Mesut Ozil though, suggestion is that he’s out for up to six weeks.

Still, he’ll keep Jack, Theo and Abou company. Not Ramsey and Kallstrom though, they are set to return for the derby…..

Transfer gossip:

The Mirrror report that Arsene Wenger is keeping tabs on Valencia striker Francisco Alcacer and has had him watched four times in February. He’s 20 years old and came through the ranks at his current club before joining the big boys this season. He’s scored 9 goals in 19 appearances.

The same paper are also running the story about Nicklas Bendtner who on Tuesday night was drunk in Copenhagen and threatening violence towards a taxi driver. Not only that, he allegedly unbuttoned his trousers and rubbed up against the side of the car having whipped the taxi with his belt!

The sooner that man leaves the club the better, he’s nothing but an embarrassment….

Just for you Oz.
Just for you Oz.

That’s it for another day…….

  1. Adam says:

Good morning again Rico and all. Watching the City/Barca game last night I was faintly amused when the dork who was commentating kept kicking off to Gary Neville about how much better City were doing than the shocking Arsenal the previous evening. You know, I never knew we hadn’t won anything for 9 years. How come no-one has mentioned that before. Still, City got a great result that was so much better than ours didn’t they?
I think Bendtner might be onto something with this cab/codger thing. I will try it when I next see Kev.

  2. rico says:

Morning again to you and all Adam..

I didn’t watch the football. At least we drew 😉

Bendtner is a disgrace, he won’t play for us again this season I bet…

  3. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, luckily, work is flat out so i don’t get too much time to sit around thinking about it.

  4. ArsenalDK says:

Rico, i assume that you are referring to the “incident” in Copenhagen with the cabdriver?

I live in Copenhagen, and have been monitoring the situation. The accusations from the cabdriver were very detailed, but extremely untrustworthy..

  5. ArsenalDK says:

I would certainly think so rico. Apparently, he got really wasted, bothered the driver, got kicked out of the cab, and when standing outside, took off his pants, started to spank the cab with his belt and started yelling to the cabdriver “I will F*** you”
Very detailed, but doesn’t sound true to me, not even after Bendtners standards..

  6. Adam says:

It was only a few days ago that the dickhead was complaining that his reputation as a nutter and psycho was completely unfair.
And Arsenal are giving him £52k a week. How much better could that money be spent on an animal shelter or medical research? To waste it on a plank like him is scandalous really.

  7. BrainwashedKev says:

Adam, you are welcome anytime, to get your old codger out in my cab…

Although calling Lee an old codger is a bit unfair tbh… 😛

  8. ozgunner says:

2 cracking games on Sunday, really looking forward to them. Fancy United to upset them for some reason and we should deal with Spuds after Benfica has given them the run around

  9. BrainwashedKev says:

Morning All, it’s turned into a really warm sunny day in London…

Morning Rico, luv the cuppa…. 😉

  10. rico says:

Agree Adam – I am surprised he hasn’t been hoofed out of the club by now. Surely he has breached his contract….

  11. BrainwashedKev says:

Rico, all that Van Persie talk has to be coming from his Agent…

He’s had his time at Arsenal, he’s won his EPL title, been left stranded by Ferguson and had realised that the grass isn’t greener…

    Let him suck it up…

  12. Wavy says:

Adam, you suggest spending the £52k p w on medical science would it not be better if we donated his BODY, Rodger and all for forensic experimentation….NOW!
    What a loser!
Bentner that is not you Adam!

    Good morning all

  13. Scott from Oz says:

Dzeko at 18 million is a steal.
I am with you Kev, that prikk made his bed, let him die in it.
Oops, i meant lie, of course 🙂

  14. W.A.T.H says:

Morning All……….. I have woken invigorated in the knowledge that we have Arsene at the helm….! Just wondering if I need to show him how to sign a cheque….!?!?!

  15. ozgunner says:

can’t see him needing a striker now after his Campbell declaration – he’ll tell us three potential world class strikers is enough. Lets wait and see

  16. potter says:

, Shows the value of winning the group . Although had we we couldn’t have drawn them , it shows that the away leg first gives you a great advantage. 1 – 1 away to Bayern and a totally different aspect on the second leg. It seems a recurring problem we keep getting second , draw a favourite and go out. I would have fancied our chances against Olympiakos and Galatasary , we might not have gone further but at that stage who knows.

  17. W.A.T.H says:

Can we please buy that really shit striker from Athletico Madrid…!
If Dzeko is gonna cost more than Remy then we know who we getting…!

  18. W.A.T.H says:

True Potter, when you finish 2nd in the group you leave yourself open to be drawing the favs in the competition in the first knock out stage…! Oz, your such a cynic… Hope you classing Akpom as one of those potential world class strikers….!

  19. potter says:

Barca won their group so we couldn’t have got them had we won ours. from that one it would have been A.C. Milan.

  20. Lee says:

Get ironed out in good size, pick up six injuries and there be some salmonella epidemic amongst their mong supporters, keeping them away from Sunday’s game!

  21. potter says:

    goodbye Sherwood?

I kind of like him being around , his old school values are upsetting their dressing room and they are worse because of it.

  22. ozgunner says:

WATH and Potter – actually agree but think they will pull the plug on him if that were to happen as its seasons over for them well and truly

  23. W.A.T.H says:

Lee, can’t there be an outbreak of Ebola virus just for the swampies…?

A Gooner managing the swampies… you couldn’t make it up could you lol 😀

  24. stevepalmer1 says:

Morning all, Very uplifting post Rico,
Bendtner, what can you say about this bloke, I honestly am at a loss with him, mind you this may not be true, but even so what the hell is he doing drunk. £55 grand a week for all this time and Wenger still honor’s this cretins contract. Bendtner will fade away when he leaves us and nobody will care certainly not the fans. City reduced to ten last night against Barca, i don’t believe it, do they ever play a full game against eleven. Good shout for a penalty by City but you just know the official is not going to wear it. That was probably the last straw for City as they had made a game of it till then, and when one of the city players yelled at the Ref that he should have give a penalty his hand was in his pocket like grease lightening. Seeing how he had booked all of the City defenders in the first half he didn’t have to think twice about a red card. Barca are a very fine side, i would say they are the best in the world from what i have seen and they do make interesting watching,But their charity sponsors probably never gives as much as EUFAS Refs. Tottenham tonight and low and behold i will be rooting for them. I am sure they will get through seeing how all the British teams are out of the Champions league , but i will egg them on. I feel that Tottenhams team are starting to gel, they had a tough game against Chelsea but didn’t get the referee’s nod, and i didn’t expect them too, but tonight if the ref plays it fair and square i think they will do it.

  25. ArsenalDK says:

Just been checking out the recovery time for Ozil’s hamstring injury, he is potentially out for 8 weeks!

    Grade 1 – 1 to 3 weeks

    Grade 2 – 4 to 8 weeks

Grade 3 – 3 to 6 months. These may also require surgery.

  26. Lee says:

What have Manchester City and Oscar Pistorius got in common?
They lost both legs, but still managed 4 shots on target

  27. potter says:

Ramsey is edging towards full fitness, but has not managed to meet the required levels expected during training this week, despite being pushed hard by the club’s medical staff

Losing players and not getting them back. The squad is getting really stretched now.

  28. W.A.T.H says:

Relax BobJ we got 4 back for Sunday…! Kalstoom will save the day…!

    You know me 2 well Lee… 😀

  29. W.A.T.H says:

I think with Santi given more of a free role we may see him shine…. We still have Ox, Rosicky Poldi and Gnabry who can play creative roles in the midfield as well so lets just pick the right team to take those sheenies apart big time.

Gibbs will make a big difference if he’s fit.

  30. BrainwashedKev says:

Great piece written by You Are My Arsenal…

You can access it on NewsNow…

Really puts the media bias into perspective…

  31. BrainwashedKev says:

Seems that Ian Broomfield, the ‘super scout’ rumoured to be leaving QPR for Arsenal, has decided to rejoin the Scum…

    Once a Scummer, always a Scummer…

  32. BrainwashedKev says:

Uli Hoeness, Bayern chairman, has been jailed for three and a half years for tax evasion. 🙂

  33. Micko says:

Spot on potter, the other nite once again showed the importance of winning our group, 2010 being the last time we progressed further than this stage, pretty crappy really, we always end up paying a high price for it.

rico, what goes in dry, comes out wet and gives warm satisfaction ? …………….a teabag of course.

  34. rico says:

Kev, Broomfield has signed for us hasn’t he??..

Afternoon all, what a busy old day but now have a lovely clean patio 🙂

  35. Adam says:

Afternoon Lee, Wath, Rico and all. I went to High Wycombe today. It was full of people with strange heads.

  36. rico says:

🙂 Adam, they only moved there a few weeks ago so their heads were already perfectly formed… lol

  37. BrainwashedKev says:

There is nothing , quite as nightmarish, as an ironed head…

Adam, you must have nerves of steel… 😀

  38. Gonerjoe says:

Just thinking about our CL knock out matchs in recent times against German teams we we would be better playing both legs in Germany.

  39. W.A.T.H says:

I would like everyone to know I can categorically deny any involvement in the Cantona incident in Camden today…!

    It was not me………

Sunday Lee I’ll be tucked up in a pub somewhere mate 😉

  40. Scott from Oz says:

Wath, nobody suspected you of involvement there.
I notice you are sporting a Bendtner like haircut, and have visited Denmark of late.

  41. W.A.T.H says:

Scott, If I was ever to look like that dick or todger as Adam would call him, please shoot me…!

  42. Joaquim Moreira says:

    Hello fArsenal fans:
    a) all the scored of Champions League predict what I’ve saying before: all those teams who had finished first on their groups , knocked the opponents.
    b) When AW said we had played twice with Barcelona and twice with Bayern (both at he highest level) in last four years in the quarter finals, he is true but the question why he not really try won the group…
c)Bendtner again …. and again for the bad news, Definetely, sell him to Qatar or to Gibraltar.
d)Ramsey is out again (!!!!???) and probably out for the rest of the season. Another case study of our medical department.
    e) Benfica won tonight versus Totts. Hope coach not be sent off before saturday and the players be completely tired, psicollogical down and not strong enought.

  43. BrainwashedKev says:

When the seagulls are following the trawler, it’s because Wath has nicked all the GG again… 😉

  44. Lee says:

Pea souper in Colchester this am!
Sandro and that prick walker doubts for Sunday! No for the salmonella break out amongst those fucktard supporters!
    Morning all…

  45. Adam says:

I did watch part of the game Rico. What a depressing place Shite Hart Lane looks. Full of knuckle scrapers with the remnants of fetid Jerk Chicken hanging from what remains of their teeth and soiling their filthy T shirts. And Sherwood, looking greyer with each passing moment, staring disbelievingly at what £110 million can buy these days. Then, in the stand, is it a Stoat or a surgically enhanced Weasel? No, it’s Levy, beady eyes on stalks, planning the new stadium to coincide with the resurgence of his club and working out what he is going to say to their tax exile owner when he asks for a half billion to fund it.

  46. Lee says:

I’ve been there and it’s a shithole of Biblical proportions enhanced by the fucktard supporters that go there week in week out!
The playing surface is excellent BUT this is because of the shit that gets put on it all the time…..and that’ll be their team!!!!!

  47. ozgunner says:

Rico – when you demand a response and get an effort like that, the writing is clearly on the wall hey?

  48. Adam says:

Rico. I was at the shithole on the night we clinched the double in 1971. That was quite a walk home to Highbury that night I must say. Along way but, as we left enemy territory, the Gooners were in the streets celebrating. My mate and I got in through the old turnstiles by offering the bloke a ten bob note for the two of us. Obviously he had never seen such a fortune and he let us in. It remains a fond memory indeed.

  49. Adam says:

It was Rico. It was a bit like the movie The Warriors as we had to fight our way back to the civilisation that was Islington. I lived at Highbury Corner those days and we stopped by the old tea stall that used to be open for what seemed like 24 hours a day and there were all my mates who had been listening to it on the radio. I think we all stood around until the early hours talking nonsense. But we were happy. Sadly my mate who came with me died way too early several years later. Memories eh!

  50. frednerk says:

You must of been rich adam,
half a crown top wack in them days.
Thats what it cost me…What a night

  51. stevepalmer1 says:

    Morning all.
I watched the Tottenham Benfica game last night, Many will be delighted with the result. Myself i felt a little disappointed, not because Tottenham was battered, but because the supposedly best league in the world is getting hammered in Europe, Champions league has shown that our teams are secondry to those in Europe, and it almost seems that we The Premier League is farcical. Germans Spanish Portugese they seem to be so much better. Now i find that strange as we are not talking about Portuges Spanish or German Players because the two have a mixture of all countries the same as us, so How is the Premier that good. In our own league i find that the referee’s decisions do tend to favour the better clubs but when those clubs are faced with opponents from Europe why are we getting Rolled over. Now watching Tottenham last night i felt that the referee was fairly fair, but the game seemed to me to be on fast forward, both teams seemed so much quicker for some reason. Benfica when breaking seemed so fast and i found that kind of play quite exciting, their first goal was a pleasure to watch and i have to say i would have liked the English side to have won, but i have to say that Benfica took it in their stride and finished the game the better side. Tottenham away, i feel that is their lot and another English club will bite the dust. This years European competitions have shown me that our Premier League is sadly not the best League in the world and its about time the FA realised that fact.

  52. ozgunner says:

sp1 – agree mate, the break is also badly needed mid season but greed and money rule. UEFA must be close now to removing the four team qualification rule. Chelsea will progress alone it appears, not a good advert for our game

  53. stevepalmer1 says:

I’m English Rico, I always support our teams when playing teams from abroad. Sunday is a different prospect, and i want us to batter them. 🙂
