Striker agrees Arsenal move! 4th spot hanging on by a thread……

Morning all,

What a sorry state we are in. The penultimate game of the season and we are absolutely desperate for the three points on offer tonight.

Three points which, IF, we manage to secure them, would take us to a final day of the season ‘shoot-out’  with the neighbours for that last Champions League spot and of course finishing above them for another year.

To be honest, that’s all this fight for 4th spot means to me and the hope that it will lure a better standard of player to us in the summer…

Now seems a good time to slip in the gossip:

Arsene Wenger was asked yesterday about the Wayne Rooney stories:

Look, I’m not in a position today to speak about any transfer targets. What I am focused on is the short term and after the Newcastle game I give you answer about these questions.

And when pressed for an answer:

 I just told you!

That to me suggests that 4th spot is crucial to his plans.

Gonzalo Higuain has agreed to join Arsenal on a five-year contract. Reports suggest that we have struck an €22m (£18.5m) deal with Real Madrid for the Argentinean striker. That is of course, according to Spanish outlet Sport.es.

Would be nice if true wouldn’t it?

I’m already wondering, worrying where our goals will come from later…….

Will Walcott step up to the mark?

Will Podolski, having now started central for a couple of matches, get a grip of that position and make his presence known?

Or will Cazorla, Rosicky or another shine through and earn us a victory?

Wonder what the odds are for Gervinho coming on and grabbing the winner?

I don’t really care who, just as long as someone get’s us that winner….

Fabianski and Gibbs are back from injury, so what does Wenger do? Slot them both back in or stick with those who have secured us points?

I guess that’s why he earns £7 million plus a season….

What I do know though is, if we can’t turn up tonight, all even players together, play the best football they can, fight from start to finish in front of our own fans, and make sure we get all three points against Wigan, then we absolutely deserve everything we are left to face…..

It’s up to him and his players say’s Arsene…..

Both teams have to go for it, it’s a huge game for both of us. We have been very consistent, we’ve been on a remarkable run and our destiny is in our hands. Two months ago our destiny was not in our own hands. Today it is. So let’s finish the job.

I’m not convinced we will, but I sure as heck hope that I am wrong….

That’s it from me for another day, let’s hope this evening favours us, sure as heck Dean won’t….

Have a good one…..

  1. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, Aaron will answer your prayers 🙂
    Morning all.
    Get in there lads.
Nothing but a win will do.

  2. ozgunner10 says:

are you related to this Arron guy Scott? 😉 He’ll be a bench player next season :- )

  3. ozgunner10 says:

the press are funny, so Wenger says he’s not talking transfers and what we get is “Wenger refuses to rule out Rooney deal” jeesh

  4. ozgunner10 says:

Higuain – would show Wenger is serious and he is a real striker with goal getting instincts. I’d be well happy with this one and much prefer him to the Jovetic guy who is way over priced

  5. eastsidepaul says:

Not liking these Cesc to united rumors, Wenger can not allow this to happen, bring him home. Couldn’t care less about the circumstances of him leaving, he is one of the best midfielders in europe and we need him back.

  6. ozgunner10 says:

Is that an admission he’d struggle at a top club then Scott? haha only kidding you mate. He’s done ok the kid in fairness

  7. ozgunner10 says:

Not bothered about Cesc either way, he wanted out like the rest so why is he any different?

  8. rico says:

Morning Lee, Oz, Esp… Have I missed anyone….

    Ah, Scott 😉

Cesc to the Mancs, surely not….

I hope you are right Scott, we could do with it….

  9. eastsidepaul says:

I’d take a lot of the old players back, Nasri, Falmini, RVP. but Cesc is the most likely, and there is no way we can allow him to join United. I really don’t care how players left, sulking about it and not having them back just because your feelings were hurt is a classic example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

  10. Bigsix says:

As much as there is some pressure for us in tonight’s game, I can see all 3 points easily secured with either a 3 -1 win if not 3-2. All our goals will be coming from Carzola, Poldi & Walcott. If Ramsey or Rosicky scored, that will be a bonus 4th goal.
Three goals for 3 points, it will be

  11. eastsidepaul says:

Just hope united don’t sign him.
One player I don’t want to see in an Arsenal shirt next year is Rooney, Higuain is a far better prospect.

  12. devilgunner says:

    Cesar
    Jenks,Koscielny, MErtesacker,Gibbs
    Ramsey, Arteta
    Cazorla,Cesc,Higuain
    Rooney.

We would thump quite a few top sides with that line up.

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Nice post Rico………hope the Higuain rumours are true.

60th minute subs………..Theo for Higuain, TR07 for Cesc, Podolski for Rooney.

  13. devilgunner says:

What no Wilshere???? ahhhhh. he is on the treatment table. will be like a new signing in december. lol

  14. Scott from Oz says:

A bonus, Bigsix….I expect Aaron to score…..every game.
I will be right one day 🙂

  15. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
The other day wenger was very very excited about the end of season fight for a euro spot.
At his press chat yesterday,I thought he was having a Squeaky Bum moment.
Wenger would like to see other clubs, show more faith and to hold onto they managers a bit longer.

Looking back at the players that have left us,
    for one reason or another.
    Fab………Manager Gone
    Judes……Manager Gone
    Nasri…….Manager Gone
    Cole……..Manager’s Gone

Do you think wenger was tongue in cheek, when he made that statement.

On the upside if I was a manager and thinking of a long career as a manager.
I would not be buying from wenger, would you.

  16. eastsidepaul says:

If I had my way with the club this would be our line up.

    ———————-Begović———————-

    Sagna—–Mertesacker–koscielny–monreal

    ———————Capoue———————-

    Reus————-Fabregas———-Podolski

    ————–Cazorla—————————-

    ——————————Higuain————

    Subs:

    Szczęsny
    Vermaelen
    Jenkinson
    Arteta
    Wilshere
    Rémy
    Giroud

This would include 6 news players in and about 10-15 players out, and we promote players like Gnabry, Bellerin, Eisfeld and Miyaichi.

    Players that can go..

    Diaby
    Squillaci
    Gervinho
    Mannone
    Arshavin
    Coquelin
    Santos
    Djourou
    Chamakh
    Park Chu-Young
    Bendtner
    Denílson

That is a long list of players that could leave while having no affect on the club!

I live in a bit of a dream world!

  17. W.A.T.H says:

    Morning All,

Ain’t your logic a bit twisted there ESP, you’d take back all the mercenary players who don’t give a shit for you your club or winning anything they just want the money and they in it for themselves but you say they good players yet you don’t want Rooney…!.
It’s all about quality players that have pride and show commitment All bar RVP showed fuck all commitment and just fled soon as the opportunity came.. you want players like that in our team..?

We’d win fuck all with players like that and funny cos when they were there we did win fuck all…! Enuff said..!

  18. eastsidepaul says:

I don’t want Rooney WATH because I don’t think he is good enough, not because I dislike him.

  19. rico says:

Morning Wath, once players go, they can stay gone as far as I’m concerned…

Especially when they have shafted the club…

  20. eastsidepaul says:

Yeah I think Higuain is a better choice. He is younger, a better goal scorer, cost less in wages and fee. I don’t see any upside for Rooney…

  21. W.A.T.H says:

Rico, when they leave for their own betterment and because we lack ambition or what other reasons I may not like it but fair play if up until the day they leave they gave us 100%…. The last few years most have left thinking their crap don’t stink, gave us very little commitment and stuck their fingers up to everyone concerned with the club. They can as u say go f**k themselves…! Wouldn’t want shit like that back in a million years we need players who want to be there simple as that and there are many many quality players who would love to play for The Arsenal.

  22. W.A.T.H says:

Morning Adam… How’s those red strides mate they all polished and glistening ready for the game 2nite..?

  23. Scott from Oz says:

We all like or dislike ex players for a variety of reasons, so there is no real wrong or right to it, just opinions.

  24. rico says:

Can’t disagree there Wath, not one bit..

Like of Sol & Henry were quite different though. Even though we are reported to have first refusal on Fabregas, I can’t ever see AW going back for him because the little squirt shafted him big time…

  25. Adam says:

Wath. I am going straight from a meeting so I shall be incognito in Hugo Boss suit and a sober shirt and tie. I might wear a pair of high heel Jimmy Choo’s though, as a statement of my personal sexual freedom.
Are you looking forward to the Europa League?

  26. potter says:

Under normal circumstances WATH I would agree with you. However I think the Cesc situation was not normal.. He was under considerable pressure to go back to Barcelona from his ex team mates , his international peers but most of all from his family. He left home at 15/16 and his father was wined and dined by Laporta who saw Cesc’s departure as a slight to himself and saw his legacy impaired by it. Cesc was a young person away from home , seeing his parents divorce and being badgered everyday to go home.
I think he is older and wiser now , things have not been too good for him at the Camp Nou and his mentor Guardiola has gone. i think we are still owed money and have a buy back clause. If it doesn’t work out he is young enough to get a good sell on fee and if it does we get a great midfielder which we badly need.

  27. Lee says:

WATH, but it’s a catch 22 situation, if Arsenal showed some intent on getting back to the glory years these players wouldn’t want to fuck off…
Think of it from a player’s perspective, it’s all well and good being an Arsenal player through and through but if you’re lining up with gervinho, denilson et al week in week out…just being devil’s advocate ahead of the pub!!! 😆

  28. W.A.T.H says:

Potter, a lot of what you say makes sense and is true but he was the little schoolboy who joined us he was/is an adult, he played up to all those things to engineer a move back, we got shafted on the transfer fee he was disruptive in the dressing room and the training ground and was the cause of many rifts within the squad that has not been publicised. I am not doubting he is a very good player that’s not in question but I don’t think he’s good for the team that for the first time in a while is actually starting to look like a team all be it lacking the quality that we need, for me he isn’t the quality we need.

Adam, your such a playboy….! No wonder you’ve been married so many times, a man with such panache and so in touch with himself must be such a catch for all those ladies….
    Stop fluttering those eyelids Rico…..!

  29. W.A.T.H says:

Lee, not got a problem with that mate and your spot on but as I said if you wanna leave then that’s your choice BUT don’t pitch up and put in zero effort or fake injury or show zero commitment when still earning a huge salary week in week out…! Rvp at least gave 100% until the very end… how many others did? how many went missing when it really mattered…?

  30. devilgunner says:

With a midfield 5 like that I do not think there is a need for a DM. they will have to get the ball first.

  31. devilgunner says:

Good point Frednerk. Those who left us for a different manager all left them.

One mistake in your comment though!!!! Cole left us for a new manager. honestly mate. only one manager???

so it should be……….Cole……….MANAGERS gone. They are in the plural in his case.

  32. devilgunner says:

Lee is right. if you are lining up with Gervinho, denilson etc you will end up crazy and want to go elsewhere.

  33. devilgunner says:

bdw…….we are 3million richer. 2million from farca for cesc for winning hte lge and 1 million for Simpson since Hull won promotion.

what do we get if Denilson’s San paolo win something this year???

  34. beje says:

Rumours are there but I’m worried about Cecs rumour about ManU. We are only one in top four who produced players in present day.

  35. W.A.T.H says:

If Sao Paolo win Dev they have to take Denilson permanently… 😀

Suppose that means they will be happy to lose……….. Shit…!

  36. devilgunner says:

According to the Daily Mail Arsenal are close to a deal which will see Aston Villa youngster Danny Crowley move to the Emirates.
The player, dubbed the new Jack Wilshere, has been linked with a move to Arsenal for some time now and the 16 year old seems to be getting ever closer to securing a deal.
Arsenal have been watching the player for a number of months and while the Daily Mail’s piece offers no sources for their information regarding an impending deal, it does seem like the type of move which Arsene Wenger would pull off.
The piece is somewhat misleading in that at the start it claims that Arsenal are close to a deal for the player while at the end it says that Wenger has given the go-ahead to the club to move for him.
As we reported back in March, Arsenal would be able to sign the player and would only be required to pay Villa a small amount of compensation.

  37. frednerk says:

    Just my opinion,
Rooney would transform our club in one hit,
he would be like a cantona for our young players,
if you see how he connected with Jack and Oxo for
    england,
he showed a lot of respect to them two.
I get the feeling,he might consider a move to us,
    wenger loves him,so he says.
I would much rather a smaller squad.on good dough,
than some of the below level players,
    wenger keeps buying.
Years ago we would look forward to a
few young lads playing in the first team,
now we fear a team change.

It’s like a scary movie everytime someone gets injured.

  38. devilgunner says:

I am like you there Frednerk. I think he would jump at the chance to make himself top main man in a club. yes he might be a turnip when it comes to women, but his head is in the right place I feel. Like you I saw what he gave to those around him like Theo, Ox etc. And I feel he would do the same with AFC.

I just have the same feeling. I feel this one might have legs and more than a rumour.

  39. eastsidepaul says:

I hear Arsenal are planing an open top bus parade to exhibit the money we have made this year, several accountants will be on board showing off the briefcases full of money. Moderately priced champagne from Tesco will be flowing and the bus driver will be on instructions to keep it at a steady pace for fuel efficiency.

  40. dave the gooner says:

rooney earns 200,000 a week. very unlikely we go to that level. we have money now by the sounds of it but we are offering our top players half of that. rooney will go psg, city, chelsea, maybe byern or real. but as an arsenal fan he is out of our league. not good enough for that kind of money. if we do break our wage structure for him, if others like jack theo etc play better than him they will ask for the same money. we did not offer that much to rvp. this story has no legs what so ever unless rooney takes a pay cut and some rich oil Barron will give him the money.

  41. frednerk says:

When we were younger did’nt we all dream of a
mature women(sorry make that 90% of us).

The problem I had when I was younger,
    I never had any money.

  42. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening all,

As much as I respect Wigans fighting qualities I just don’t think they can get themselves up again for this one, that being to get the 3 points. The Arsenal are specialists @ CL qualification & will do it again IMHO. I’m really looking forward to this fixture

  43. devilgunner says:

if we get the dead wood out then it will free a lot of salaries. that can help AFC give the best players more money.

  44. W.A.T.H says:

Seems many forget how we paid DB10… it’s not all about a salary and breaking a wage structure it’s called image rights bonuses etc etc not 200k a week. If we really want him not difficult to make up a package deal and with Puma new shirt deal etc etc think of the commercial spin offs…! Fred 100% right fella he’d give the whole place a lift and the boy loves his football…! he may be a grade A dickhead off the pitch BUT……

  45. Joaquim Moreira says:

Higuain i French/Argentinian. Is natural AW is interesting in him.
Monaco is the new Manchester City. In 2011, Ryboloviev bougth it. Finally in the first division again, probably Falcao for 60 millions and J. Moutinho and James Rodrigues (both from Porto) are the next goals. They want a team to win the French league. Probably they have a look to Arsenal team… (e.g. Sagna…)

  46. allezkev says:

    Afternoon Gooners…

Rooney, Cesc, sorry, I just can’t see it….

Usual ‘Phoney Transfer Charade’, pre the season ticket renewals.
Those assholes at the club, play us like this every May.

Hope i’m wrong, but the club have ‘previous’…

Coach, the word in Birmingham, is that Crowley is a ‘done deal’…

  47. TT says:

    @ W.H.A.T

“he was disruptive in the dressing room and the training ground and was the cause of many rifts within the squad that has not been publicised.”

If this was never published then whats your source?

As for Rooney and Cesc I see it this way.

    1. Cesc is an assist machine that fits 100% into the Arsenal stile of play, we never replaced him and still try to play the same level of football and it is obviously not working. He has been humbled at Barca and brought down to earth, he is no longer the main man as he was at Arsenal.

If he came back and I don’t believe the rumors tbh, he would be a different Cesc. One that realizes that the grass is not always greener on the other side. He would also still have all the skill he possessed before and have a massive point to prove.

    2. Rooney has been in and out of the UTD team all the season and that’s down to loss of form, Ferguson has already alluded at this.

He has issues off the pitch, does not look after him self physically as he should, he has been reported to be a smoker and has had weight issues. All this however can be rectified if the player is willing to work towards it, none of these problems are insurmountable. For this he needs a strong manager and IF SAF was not able to keep him on the straight and narrow then I’m sorry Wenger has not a snowballs hope in hell to do that.

I see him going to Chelsea if he goes to another English club but would UTD do an Arsenal and sell one of it’s players to a local rival? Even if he had been below par this season I can’t see that happening but if Maurhino rejoins them I believe Rooney would jump at the chance and Maurhino is the kind of manager that could relight the fire in Rooney

For me out of these two Cesc would be the standout option but to be honest both are just pipe dreams and nothing more.

  48. Lee says:

I agree shrek goes to the chavs…they haven’t paid the apex for a striker in 15 seconds! Done deal……

  49. W.A.T.H says:

TT… What’s my source….. Normally grey goose and sprite but I am also know to be tempted by either red or white wine…..! The odd Single Malt goes down a treat as well if I am in the mood…!

  50. Wavy says:

Re Cesc and his leaving antics, even Wenger said he could “write a book about the summer’s goings on!”
Disruptive certainly, selfish definitely, egotistic absolutely and misguided for sure.
I’d have him back though, if only to keep him out of the arms of the adoring old grey badger. However, I may not play him too often as a reminder of who is the boss and who is the servant. Time the Arsenal got their their priorities right! Players play for us not just for themselves and their over the top wages.
And as a final solution I’d drain him of his Farca dna, in fact all his dna and eat it on toast! That’d show him!

  51. fran says:

hey all, firstly let me say the article bout wenger not denying rooney rumours is horse shite, did he say im not ruling out bringing wayne to da emirates? no he didnt so its the press putting 2 and 2 together and getting 279466374848849 as the answer. now before I say more ill just say im not english so my like or dislike of players doesnt stem from whether they are gods in a 3 lions shirt or not. it comes from what see of them on the pitch. now having said that I think anyone saying gibbs should be automatically in ahead of nacho is obviously blinded cos hes english, nacho is a much more steady head in defence from what ive seen of him so far and that is something our beloved gooners need more than anything at the moment. gibbs is a fantastic player but at times he worries me, maybe with a few more years under his belt he’ll be a world beater. as for rooney id personally love to see him az a gooner. someone said he’d be like a cantona figure in the club and I whole heartedly agree. I actually dont think his real strenght is his skill on the pitch, rather I feel its his winning menality. he reminds me a little of roy keane in that he doent know when hes beat. I used to watch him being sent off for stupid rash tackles and I wrongly thought it was petulence but eventually I came to realise it was born out of frustration. frustration with himself or his team mates for not being good enough at that particular moment in time. can u imagine we’re playing a must win game and our theo gets the ball goes at about 30% of possble speed at a defender, loses the ball and doesnt bother to burst every blood vessel in his body to get it back ( like he does on an all to regular basis) and wayne was on our team? what do u think would happen? would it be A wayne strolls over and commiserates theo on losing the ball? B. wayne does a lil gee shucks kinda shoulder shrug and gets on with it? or C. wayne stroms over and givez theo the hair dryer treatment , tells him to stop being a lazy boy and leaves tgeo terrified and dripping with spit? u pick I know which answer I thi k it would be. anyway thats my opinion and u know what they say about opinions.

  52. SD London says:

If the Puma deal is true I am sure they will have a say in some players we buy.

So if the Rooney story is true then I see Puma’s hand in it because Rooney to Arsenal will only be for commercial reasons.

We will make the money back, kids will go crazy , we will have new generation of Arsenal fans even those kids with parents that are Chelsea or Spud fans will jump ship.

Arsenal will sell loads of Rooney Jerseys and his wife will be crazy about the idea of living in London.(Trust me, there is nothing in Manchester to excite someone earning that much money).

So buying Rooney will make commercial sense and Arsenal don’t even have to pay his salary directly.

And also , he will want to prove a point or two and he is a player that understands that we shouldn’t be loosing to Blackpool/Blackburn(can’t even rember) in the Carling Cup he already understands and will push to the last minute to get a goal.

Higuain is a good player but he probably hasn’t heard of Westham or Southampton before 🙂

Oh! by the way , I will have Fabregas anytime even when he is 35years old 😀

  53. allezkev says:

Fabianski or Szczesny in goal tonight?

Gibbs or Monreal @ left-back? Up against Mcmanaman!

Podolski or Walcott thru the middle?

Gervinho starting or on the bench?

Grey Goose or Nigerian Guiness? 😉

  54. SD London says:

    True talk Fran.

I have never seen Walcott loose a ball and chase it back to collect or stop whoever collected the ball from him.

Rooney does this week in week out.

Unbelievable , am I actually bigging up Rooney ?

  55. SD London says:

    Had a brain wave,

If Fergie had to call Wenger before Wenger could sell , that means Stan and the board gave Wenger the freedom to decide wether to sell RVP or not.

Then if Wenger hinted that he knew Fergie was going to retired this summer then the talk would have ended up been a friendly one. :$

Then if all of a sudden we are linked to Rooney and when Fergie was talking about Rooney’s transfer request , he wasn’t RED.

So, could it be that there was an agreement between Fergie and Wenger to sell Rooney to him if he sells RVP to him because he is retiring and need to make sure he wins the PL on his last season as a manager.

Or Maybe Wenger asked for Rooney in exchange for RVP and Fergie begged he needed the two to win the league because this might be his last season as manager.

Ah whatever , we will see when the window opens.

  56. rico says:

Good question Ak, either way, if we lose, AW will get slated…

Guinness for me though, that old goosie stuff… yuck!

  57. Micko says:

The team is in a good place, the players have had the weekend off, they have the advantage of knowing 2 wins will get us 4th, we know Wigan will be up for it but they’re in the bottom 3 for a reason, they’ve been pony for most of the season, I’m going for a 3-1 win tonight, surrendering 4th place to the yids is not an option, the weekend would be murder.
    Kev 3.47, it’s a no brainer.

  58. rico says:

Sd, you don’t need to, his record speaks for it’s self…

6 more days, and the rumour frenzy will hit overdrive….

  59. Wavy says:

Just read the mail article —————————–I’m off to the toilet!
Wigan may have been pony all season but it’s me going for a ……..?
Surely we couldn’t flush the CL down the pan, could we?

  60. rico says:

🙂 Wavy, just have to hope that Wenger is prepared, none of this ‘play the same way regardless’ stuff….

  61. allezkev says:

    Tbh, I think we’ll be ok tonight…

Newcastle away, now that’s another matter altogether…

  62. Micko says:

I think we’ll be ok tonight rico, they have more reasons to be wary of us than we do of them, it will go to the final day and we’ll all be nervous wrecks.

  63. frednerk says:

Chelsea have a champions league place already,
    after tomorrow night,win or lose,
they could switch off, everton may not be easy.

Peckers up we could be 3rd.

  64. stevepalmer1 says:

    Evening all,
Ronkey in an Arsenal shirt, living in London shagging all our grand mothers, boy have we fallen so far. Higgy sounds the better bet. But it won’t happen, I have actually heard of him so he won’t be coming. I always feel that before we buy we should make a point of making room, and we certainly have a few to move on, that could take all of this transfer window and best part of the next. Wigan tonight and many supporters will be shitting themselves, why i ask myself, Wigan are down the bottom and were at the top, that is not a coincidence its because Wigan have been shit all season , the finishing places are what tells you how good your side are in relation to the others. If we don’t beat lowly placed Wigan tonight we don’t deserve a place alongside champions of Europe. Top 4 is all about money and should we get through will that money be spent on Higgy if the answer was yes i may just care about tonight but i feel that the money would just drift away or be invested in another American football or baseball team who gives a shit. 4th is not winning the prem is it.

  65. Lewis says:

    Evening all.

Like most you gooners out there not sure which team will turn up tonight but I’m sure it’s been said a hundred times in the last few days. If we can’t put this Wigan team to the sword, we DO NOT deserve CL footy.

    Looking forward to it though!

Lets smash them into the championship.

  66. stevepalmer1 says:

Hiya Fred, Good question mate, but although i admire both of those players i believe we can do better and at half the price it would cost.. What we have to consider is that we are talking Wenger signings and you know as well as me, Wenger does things differently, i don’t think Wenger’s strategy will change even if he has a war chest. He buys a lot of shit with the odd exception, i would like to see him buy at least 3 good uns.

  67. stevepalmer1 says:

I would like to point out that losing against Wigan could and has cost jobs, and my opinion is that if they beat us on our own patch heads should roll. players as well as staff. If i don’t see the same kind of effort as i saw against United then they can all go.

  68. rico says:

Hi Sp, I did leave you a comment but my internet connection crashed… 🙁

All re-booted and suited now and ready to go 🙂

  69. Joaquim moreira says:

    1 Szczesny 3 Sagna 4 Mertesacker 6 Koscielny 28 Gibbs 8 Arteta 16 Ramsey 7 Rosicky 19 Cazorla 9 Podolski 14 Walcott

    Suplentes: 21 Fabianski, 5 Vermaelen, 25 Jenkinson, 17 Monreal, 10 Wilshere, 15 Oxlade-Chamberlain, 37 Gervinho

  70. rico says:

    COYG’s..

And all you lazy gits, finally pull your finger out and put a shift in…

    That includes you THEO!!!

  71. rico says:

Agree Lewis, really well, he’s crossing well too but others aren’t keeping up with him…

  72. devilgunner says:

exactly Rico. we do need another one to settle the boys. however the more we get the better since we need to make up the goal difference in case of equal points with the chavs

  73. Scott from Oz says:

    What is happening?
    Shooting from range?
Everyone is tracking back in defence, including our #14.
    Work rate is fantastic.
    Love it!

  74. rico says:

Either way, we need more goals devil….

Wigan are just starting to get into the game and that’s a worry….

  75. Micko says:

Be great to get this done and dusted by half-time for a change.

Wavy, hope your colon is holding up mate.

  76. rico says:

    Dean worries me…..

Right now he is fair, but give him an inch if this stays 1-0 and he’ll take a mile…

  77. Scott from Oz says:

    Mike Dean is fucking cheat!!
He has been working his way slowly into the game, and there we have it.

  78. Scott from Oz says:

The commentator says Dean looks to blow for half time.
    Wigan suddenly surge forward…play on.
We get the ball and he pulls up play.
    He is a good man!!

  79. Gunnerdna says:

Arteta, Ramsey and rosicky are useless don’t blame MD, there is a reason Wigan is third from bottom!!!

  80. rico says:

Sp, I disagree, had Podolski jumped instead of ducking, that free kick would never have through the wall

  81. rico says:

Brad – we should have had this game done and dusted by now, but it’s typical of our season..

  82. rico says:

kel – that kind of language will keep you in spam, sorry but thats the rules here…

Sp, we’ve been that way since Dudu left….

  83. Bradster says:

Seems like we get bored or tired of doing the same thing for 20 mins. Then we switch off, no midfield tackles and plenty of time and space for the opponents.
Walcott and Cazorla then starts pulling more central and compact our game.

  84. stevepalmer1 says:

Just my opinion Rico, on a free kick as that one the keeper in my mind should not favour one side of the goal. he was a mile away from it and if i had taken that kick thats where i would have put it.

  85. Wavy says:

The colon’s holding up, just. Saw it coming though. We have lowered the pace to the point that Wigan can now keep up. Time to raise the tempo again then maybe, just maybe we’ll still have something to play for at castille nou!

  86. Scott from Oz says:

I will glame who. Boody like DNA, you stooge.
It was never a free kick and only a complete, utter fool would suggest otherwise.

  87. rico says:

Gdna – I am not one for suggesting fans should go to another blog to vent their opinion, but, I think somewhere more negative than HH might suit you better

    Nothing you say is constructive,….

  88. kel says:

sorry about that just frustrated there rico… altho if i scroll up i see a few f’s & w’s

  89. Scott from Oz says:

Cause Wigan is such a shit team, and in such bad from, hey lol.
Too many think we are Arsenal, so we should just win.
    Unfortunately, this is REAL life.

  90. devilgunner says:

Alcaraz should have been red carded. Ramsey was direct on goal and could have been a goal scoring opportunity.

  91. Gunnerdna says:

Rico what constructive can u talk about this game, u r upset because I speak the truth. Get over it the truth hurts.

  92. Scott from Oz says:

Two yanks involved in Arsenal that i know of….Stan and DNA.
    The contributions are immense 🙂

  93. devilgunner says:

but are we good enough to do things in normal play??? We are not street wise.

notice how often wigan foul our players when we have a good opportunity!!! how often do we do it??? and when we do it we usually cock it up in danger areas which Dean is quick to whistle.

Shitty scored a beauty today. We do not have that level.

  94. Judge me in May says:

Nail Quinn is the biggest wanker of them all.. What a pitiful distorted little shit he is..
    Sorry Rico..

  95. Gunnerdna says:

I’m not gonna b disrespectful scot because we supports the same team and I’m gonna respect my elders.

  96. devilgunner says:

As I was saying. its the 60th minute and that usually means????

    SUBS

    But where are they yet?

  97. Scott from Oz says:

DNA, you have no respect mate…none.
You can’t even celebrate the goal?
You are the only “Gooner” i know that would rather be right than see his team win.
2-1….make it 3 guys, just to annoy our mate, DNA 🙂 🙂 🙂

  98. devilgunner says:

    Poldiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Well as I was saying its the 60th minute.

    Where thehell are the subs????

No sign of them yet. that is a miracle by AW standards

Well well well. who was the numb skull who said Poldi needs to make way??? 😉

  99. rico says:

devil, Podolski read my post. He has stepped… 😉

Just need one more goal and then I might relax a bit 😉

  100. devilgunner says:

sorrryyyyy I should have said Ramsey 😆

Well as I was saying its past the 60th minute.

    Where thehell are the subs?

So unreal of AW not to do subs.

  101. Bradster says:

GDNA, you still there bud? There’s a possibility our useful players might sneak a win tonight.

  102. Scott from Oz says:

Rico, it is funny, but i honestly though he would bag one tonight.
I have not been confident all season, but tonight i was certain……he deserves it.

  103. devilgunner says:

Jack is 17 minutes late. next time be punctual mate. the 60th minute is past its sell by date.

  104. Scott from Oz says:

Two goals Pod……two clinical finishes…..great contribution, and that is what he is all about.
He will never beat 4 players and score.
Get it to him in space and he will finish.

  105. devilgunner says:

I have always believed in Podolski Scott. Like you believed in Aaron (and I as well)

I still have the feeling that he will be converted into a CF.

  106. rico says:

Ramsey has been playing well of late Scott and yes, I’d chuffed for him, he’s taken some stick. Most of which was down to AW playing him in the wrong position…

Apart for 20/30 mins, I think we have played really well tonight….

Ok it’s Wigan, but they wanted this tonight, and some gooners may lose sight of that….

  107. rico says:

Theo, in my opinion, has played one of the best games in an Arsenal shirt.

    Attacking and defending…..

  108. Scott from Oz says:

Wigan came hard at us, and must be given credit by any fair minded fan.
Their latest form has been great as well…….
Of all the sides in the PL, this is the one i don’t enjoy knocking out.

  109. Scott from Oz says:

    Agreed Rico.
I mentioned early in the game Theo was tracking back.
A simple task, but it makes him 3 times the player, and it helps Sagna…….brilliant tonight.

  110. devilgunner says:

Its Poldi mate. Cant see Aaron as a CF although you never know with AW and what goes onbetween his ears.

  111. devilgunner says:

We are just one goal less than the chavs. We need another one to make sure we start on equal footing.

  112. Scott from Oz says:

    Just joking Devil lol.
Aaron is not QUITE the clinical finisher Pod is 🙂
    I am buzzing.
The crap this kid has copped and endured without showing one second of resentment has shown he is a guy with class, and a Gunner!!
I said when he got back on the pitch it would take 12-18 months to get back to full speed.

  113. Scott from Oz says:

Actually, i am not sure i will have time to Rico.
I will see how I go….if i can get some time i will, but i dont want to let you done, so don’t count on it.

  114. devilgunner says:

you told Scott that you have never seen one on legs.

So I asked you in what place have you seen one then!!! 😆

  115. Scott from Oz says:

Rico…….i SHOULD be able to get it done…….i will get it done!!!
    Sleep in lol.
Off to work with a smile.

  116. devilgunner says:

8 years ago we beat Wigan 4-2 in the final game at Highbury, We have failed since then.

No, although I wanted them to stay up we have beaten them 4-1

I feel that the glory days are about to return.

The clock has turned a full circle.

  117. devilgunner says:

Now I hope that the chavs and Everton draw 0-0 and we get a 2-0 win against NUFC. We would go third with just 1 goal.

  118. Micko says:

Great result, now to steam roller the geordies, bring it on.

Hope Arteta’s ok, definately gonna need him fit for the weekend.

  119. rico says:

You know what devil, I have a feeling in my bones you could be right….

IF we can go an get 4th….

  120. rico says:

    I want everton to win…

Don’t we all Micko, well, apart from Gdna of course, he thinks Arteta is s**t…

  121. devilgunner says:

I am off now Lady and Gentlemen.

    Nice here today.

GDNA…..time to get up from the loo now mate. you will have a sore bum. 😉

    Rico sleep well.

And do not dream of one on legs remember!!!! 😆

  122. rico says:

Ok, that’s me done. Happy, very happy with the three points, now I pray for three more on Sunday…

And that is purely because I want us to get 4th, I want us to be able to attract the better players…

But above all, I want AW to sign them, play them in the right way, and turn this club around…..

    Night all, sleep well….

  123. tsgh says:

    evening btw…

Rico both wingers put in a shift… that is all I always ask for. But as I always say Theo is a big game player.

Scott did you see the finish from the boy wonder? lol

    Night all!

  124. Wavy says:

Thank you the arse! My toilet remains unsullied!
It had its ups and downs but at least we have a chance to go again on sunday. Ah the Fourth place trophy will be presented at the Gallowgate end at about 6 o’clock on Sunday 19th May 2013. Hurrah.

  125. Micko says:

Nice of you to stick your nut in the door tsgh, we woz worried about ya.
Wavy, just one more turd to negotiate, Wenger and Pardew have history, Sunday’s gonna be mental.
    Nite all.

  126. George says:

    Viva cazorla 4 assists!

That was tough going at times …phew!

C’mon you gooners! Ade ade gives us a song ade, give us a song lol

    ‘Av it !”

  127. Wavy says:

The floater on the Tyne is all mine all mine!
And with that delicious thought I’m off to find a glass of restoring red!
Nearly there let’s finish the job properly.
    Night all.

  128. Scott from Oz says:

Ginge, for no other reason than in honestly believe he deserved that goal, i screamed the house down when Aaron scored.
I am ecstatic for the kid.
By that stage we were safe, so it had no bearing, but it was great.
If he can become a better finisher, which apart from that one would not be hard (lol), he will become a star midfielder.
Everything else is coming to hand nicely for him, but that would top him off beautifully.
    What a game!!!
    Loved it.

  129. Scott from Oz says:

Santi is pure class, and evidence that Arsene has got his eye in for transfers when given some cash.
I wonder if Stan realises, or cares, how close we are to being a great football side?

  130. Scott from Oz says:

I am away fishing this weekend…..of ALL weekends!!
I hope i can get internet coverage!!

  131. eastsidepaul says:

I doubt Stan cares or even knows what is going on Scott, as long as we are in profit is all that matters to him.
A lot of players should and will go this summer, all it will take is 4 top quality signings for us to push on.
Trim the fat, promote some of the better youngsters and but 4 tope established players, we could finally end this trophy drought.

  132. allezkev says:

    Five goals scored this evening.

GunnerDNA comments, negatively, after the Wigan goal.

But is silent following each of Arsenal’s four goals…

    Why is that GunnerDNA???

Are you even an Arsenal fan?

I mean, I could quite easily, call myself HotspursDNA, go on a Spuds blog, and just take the piss.

    A bit like you GunnerDNA…

You have absolutely nothing constructive to say do you GunnerDNA???

But you find plenty to criticise about the club you pretend to support. In fact criticising Arsenal seems to make you very happy.

If you are an Arsenal fan, something I find hard to believe, what exactly do you get out of watching the team, if all you can do is celebrate when they concede?

I suggest that you find another blog to infect.

  133. allezkev says:

As far as the game is concerned, I will quote my friend Adam.

    “It’s the points, that’s all that counts”…

    Well said mate… 😉

  134. Adam says:

Kev. If I ever did say that, which I doubt, I regret it now. 🙂
Gdna thrives on negativity. He has nothing to say.
    Listen…..hear the silence.
    Beautiful isn’t it?

Night Kev. See you at the weekend.

  135. ozgunner10 says:

wow feel knackered this morning – but happy. Solid result, one more needed. Santi was so up for it and the rest obviously charged his batteries big time. Also thought Mert was outstanding, his placement is superb so often. Scott no doubt is smiling from ear to ear, the kid clearly enjoyed the goal. So on we go to a ‘don’t care’ Newcastle but we still need to be ready – looking good

  136. Lee says:

Morning all…where’s the troll gone? Another one these bellends that dishes it out but can’t take it or disappears up his his own arsehole. Take your constant negativity and do us all a favour and fuck off….and kindly take the syrup with you!!

  137. Adam says:

Lee. As usual, that was eloquent and to the point. Beautiful in its economy and brutal in sentiment.
You should have been a writer really. 🙂
    Morning mate. Morning Oz.

  138. Lee says:

Morning Adam, had a touch last night watched the second half from FM’s box!! 🙂
Unfortunately certain expletives are extremely frowned upon….

  139. devilgunner says:

    Good Morning Lady and Gentlemen.

Ahhhhhh. The sweet smell of fresh air which a performance like that brings.

    Only Wigan though!!!!!

    Only Wigan you say??????

Hell……….they won the FA Cup. They are champions. And they have managed to trump us on quite a few occasions.

So to all those who think we turn up only against small team……sod off ya all. When we drop points against them we are shit. When we thump them its because we are bullies.

    Cant win with ya sodders.

In the meantime……..I have the utmost admiration for the majority of bloggers here. People like the Lady of the House, Watty, Kev, Scottie (aka Rammers by Royal deed), Adam, Lee, Micko, Ginge, Sir SP etc etc etc. Cant remember them all offhand. But well done mates for sticking up for our club.

Incidentally the Beeb has reported that people heard of someone breaking a toilet due to one almighty farty shit around 21.10 yesterday.

BDW, Scott managed to make 73 successful passes during the match last nigh.

OOOOOPPPPPPPsssssssssssss. Sorry. should’ave said Ramsey not Scott. 😉

    The stats for Ramsey………..

22 – Passes per shot by Arsenal (best of the season by Arsenal)
73 – Passes by Aaron Ramsey (led all players)
37 – Passes forward by Aaron Ramsey
12 – Misplaced passes by Aaron Ramsey
9 – Number of those passes that were forward
2 – Shots created by Ramsey
5 – Consecutive matches now that Aaron Ramsey has led Arsenal in passes
1 – Turnovers by Aaron Ramsey (turnovers are unforced errors)
1 – Number of times Ramsey was dispossessed

    Stats for Caz the GAzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………..

61 – Passes by Santi Cazorla
6 – “Key Passes” today by Cazorla (shots his passes created for others)
3 – Shots today by Cazorla
7 – Passes per shot-created or shot taken by Santi Cazorla
4 – Assists Cazorla provided this day against Wigan
1027 – Passes Cazorla has made in the final third this season (tops in all five Leagues)
1037 – Passes Cazorla made in the final third for Malaga last season (third best)
37 – Passes Cazorla made in the Wigan final third today (led all players)
95 – “Key Passes” Cazorla has made this season (3rd in the League)
6 – “Key passes” Cazorla made today v. Wigan
    11 – Assists Cazorla has this season (T2nd in the League, Mata (12), Hazard/Cazorla (11), Walcott/Rooney (10), Podolski/Gerrard (9)
4 – Assists Cazorla had today v. Wigan

And they are not in the EPL team of the season.

Shame on those who criticize them.

  140. devilgunner says:

LEE………Beautiful in its economy and brutal in sentiment.

That is high praise indeed. And coming from Adam its worth its weight in gold mate. Tolkienesque level my friend.

    Adam…..you could be a philologist.

  141. devilgunner says:

Cazorla assisted with a left foot, a right foot, and a head today.

    Imagine him with Cesc.

    Jaw dropping levels.

Imagine him with a player like Higuain in from of them. Makes you numb.

  142. Adam says:

Devil. A philologist. Is that an adjective?
    Morning mate.
Lee. I am sure you were the epitome of decorum. I hope you gave them your renowned player appraisal.

  143. devilgunner says:

A philologist is one who studies a language in written historical sources. Tolkien was one mate. And as I told you last time…….I compare your grasp of English to a well composed piece of music. And to my ears your comments are like music of the highest order.

  144. devilgunner says:

Imagine had we been on top for all of the game Adam. We would have thorn them a new one.

And make it difficult for the Chavs to beat us on GD.

  145. Adam says:

Devil. Many thanks. Extremely kind and generous.
We did ok in the second half but, up until McMannaman being carried off, we were rocking and not in a rock ‘n roll way either.
I would buy that bloke. He is a very good player. A git for sure, but talented.
Same old. We go ahead and then sit metaphorically on our hands as if looking for guidance as to what to do next. We encouraged Wigan to come on to us by stopping closing them down and they were certainly tired but accepted our offer graciously. At times it looked as though it was us that had played on Sunday.
So much work needs to be done on our team. We have too many passengers. Sad, but true.
But, as so many say, (not me though), three points are all that matters.

  146. ozgunner10 says:

    interesting

Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Wigan on Tuesday night not only moved them back to within two points of Chelsea, (72 versus 70) but cut the latter’s goal-difference advantage to one (35 versus 34). It also moved them to within two of Chelsea’s goals total (73 versus 71), raising the intriguing prospect of the sides finishing level on points, goal difference and goals scored.
For that to happen, Chelsea must draw at home to Everton on Sunday, with Arsenal winning at Newcastle by a single goal and scoring two more than Chelsea. For example, if Chelsea draw 0-0, Arsenal must win 2-1. If Chelsea draw 1-1, Arsenal must win 3-2.
Under Premier League rules, if qualification for a competition cannot be determined by points, goal difference or goals scored, the sides involved must play each other one or two times at a neutral venue.
Because third place gains automatic qualification to the Champions League and fourth place does not, Chelsea and Arsenal tying would fall into that category.

  147. devilgunner says:

Then again……….if we win by two or more clear goals and the Chavs fail to win then we will finish 3rd.

Unless…………RA and SK want around 3 million each for their coffers and its all been set for a two leg playoff which will be a bigger crowd puller than the FA Cup itself.

  148. devilgunner says:

Imagine us winning by a two goal margin, the Chavs loose and the spuddies win.

The chocking cocks would then finish out of the CL because of the chavs again. For the second season in a row.

Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that.

  149. ozgunner10 says:

there will be lots of scores to watch during the Newcastle game mate, hopefully we not put through the heart wringer again

  150. Scott from Oz says:

Top of the morning ladies and gentleman.
    Howdy Oz.
The sweet smell of success is waffling through this Gooners household.
I prmise not to carry on (too muc) about Aarons performance, because it was patchy, but shit, i was ecstatic to see him finish that one.
I am still smiling from ear to ear over the whole performance.
Wigan came at us, and we stood pretty firm, i thought.

  151. ozgunner10 says:

morning scott – i did think we brought a lot of their pressure on ourselves or disagree? We seemed to do the old one goal and we’re done bit for a while but 3 in eight minutes was rather nice 🙂

  152. devilgunner says:

I enjoyed yesterday’s game. But Poldi’s two goal burst put the icing on the cake for me.

I like him as a player. And I do want him to succeed at Arsenal.

  153. rico says:

Wonder what AW will do on Sunday. Giroud is back, should he walk straight back into the side??

  154. George says:

    Good morning all….

As Adam and others rightly point out , there were spells in that game where we was pony. We should be beating their likes easier. The score line flattered us in the end. Cazorla and Kozza were world class last night. Nice to see the effort levels as well. As pointed out earlier, our wingers put in a shift.

Now Wigan have gone, there’s one or 2 I wouldn’t mind us robbing them of.

James McCarthy and the thug that is mcmanaman could be useful …

Wtf GDNA???? We win 4-1 and you say we’re awful? Average at best? See Lee’s post son..I’m with him.

Anyone seen or heard from SYG??

  155. ozgunner10 says:

morning Rico – Pod and Giroud suffer the same ‘slow as’ disease IMO, i prefer Pod as he has a natural instinct Giroud does not have, ala his second goal. Really want a quality striker who can keep up with Theo next season

  156. rico says:

    I hope he’s a bit more pro-active than that on Sunday if it’s needed…

I think he’s on holiday George

  157. Adam says:

Devil. I want everyone to succeed but, as far as Podolski is concerned, where do you play him? I would sell him.
The villain of the piece was Dean last night. How it must have hurt him not to find anything wrong with those goals. He moves so little, is never up with the game and makes Phil Dowd look like Usain Bolt. There were so many tugs and fouls against us that he didn’t give. Just before the imaginary foul that lead to their goal there was an incident in front of us where Santi had broken free and then suddenly jerked back. This was either him executing a move from a new Spanish break dance or he was attached to a bungee cord. The clue though was in the Wigan player’s extended arm that had a clump of his little shirt. Dean saw it of course but, presumably under instruction for the simpering Mike Riley who was probably cowering in the dark in some vile little hovel somewhere, he decided for the umpteenth time to ignore it. If Carlsberg did lightning bolts, then surely one would have exploded from the heavens at that moment and reduced Dean to a shouldering pile of ash.
I absolutely detest Mike Dean. But I have a soft spot for Riley. He’s my kinda guy,

  158. rico says:

You guys see that link I posted earlier about the Gooner jailed for burgling Moanrinho’s home..

    Not sure Lee…

Morning Oz, I did say morning earlier when I crept in 😉

  159. Scott from Oz says:

Fair call Oz, but we did shake it off and fought back well.
I actually can see what he means when Wenger mentions the handbrake and letting nerves get to us.

  160. rico says:

I also think we need more pace up front as our forwards can’t keep up with Theo.

Was it Kev who said he watched Higuain play the other night and thought he was a bit slow?

  161. Lee says:

I thought that was the best all round performance from Theo last night that I’ve seen for ages….
We need a Henry-esque striker not another sloth!

  162. Scott from Oz says:

A striker can be a little slow, but if smart will find the right spot to be more often than not.

  163. Adam says:

I imagine the thought of traveling to Estonia with all the joys that entails must have encouraged him to do a bit Lee.

  164. Scott from Oz says:

Adam, maybe Wenger needs to put pictures up in

When it comes to squeezing a suitable blob of hair gel from a tube and applying it to his barnet, I have seen no player quicker than Giroud.
Morning Rico. I see that you had some fun on here last night with the Plonker from Plonkerville.

  166. Adam says:

Scott. Yes and the Blubberburger vans on the edge of the Arctic Circle. Even the hair gel freezes up there.

  167. rico says:

Morning Adam. What a buffoon that person is. Only seems to comment when the chips are down…

Ok, it was clear to see we took the foot off the gas and let Wigan into the game but at times I thought there was plenty to be positive about, very positive…

  168. rico says:

I’m watching the re-run, just seen that incident with Santi, shocking miss by Dean Adam, your are spot on…

  169. rico says:

And then the little squirt gives them a free kick for less.. Oh well, it didn’t cost us..

    This time……

  170. Adam says:

I am afraid Rico that I have become jaded with these Arsene Wenger teams and can’t see it any more. If anybody would care to try and drag me from the torpor of more of the same I see looming then that would be quite lovely.
Before McMannaman, if that is his name, went off, Wigan had become by far the better team last night, back to front. After he went off, they lost their edge. If that is positive, then it simply must be me. I am perfectly willing to accept that.

  171. Scott from Oz says:

I thought it was a plastic moulding Adam, but you’ve had a closer view so i will accept that lol

  172. devilgunner says:

Adam, mate. we cannot expect to run rings all the time around the opposition.

its 11 vs 11 players not 11 vs 11 statues mate.

you share the pastizzis mate. otherwise you will grow fat and you would not be able to see your best friend. 😀

  173. tsgh says:

    morning all,

Kev did you mean to write hotshiteDNA instead of hotspurDNa? Lol

Good performance from the lads. It goes to show that if the wingers put in an al round performance we can look like our old self with a Welsh man in midfield 😉
Dev must be happy AW experimented with his idea of using TV as a DM for the last 2 minutes 🙂

  174. Lee says:

Maybe dna works for the Samaritans? Or is he Fraser in Dad’s Army? “We’re all dooomed!”

  175. ozgunner10 says:

I agree obviously Adam but will refrain from my usual opinions for one more summer – I still see the signs of complete apathy evident in our play, players not running, not covering. Technique flaws exposed due to lack of concentration as much as anything. We saw it all last night again in patches. HOWEVER – This summer Wenger has to remove the digit and buy REAL proven quality – i want the press to stay all over him, he’s had it easy to long with all the rubbish and top four trophy crap. He is the manager of one of the finest history clubs in the world and needs to start attracting (and paying for) the quality we deserve and pay for!

  176. Adam says:

Devil. I think there is something wrong with my ability to actually read a game these days. I am disillusioned and must need help. It’s just that a team who had, up until last night, lost 19 games (is it?), in the PL this season came to play a team fighting for the trophy that is 4th place. Up until quite late in the game there was little desire that I could detect and the thousands of empty seats were testimony to the fact that Atsenal are a struggle for many these days. The atmosphere, for the most part and as Kev, sitting next to me commented on, was shit. I know I am in the minority here and that last night’s performance, like most of the season, seems to draw rapturous admiration whenever we win but I am blind to the charms of this team and its style of play and its motivation.
I might need the rest that is the close season to recharge my batteries.
