Stitch up Part 1 complete! We await Part 2!

Morning all.

If having to face Utd at their place wasn’t bad enough, as expected, the fixture has been moved to suit the Broadcasting companies and they’ve managed to pluck out the worst time and days for all Arsenal fans.

Monday 9th March at 7.45! What complete and utter buffoons! Public transport is limited, especially when it comes to returning back to london, so much so the club are looking for ways to assist travelling fans with their journey.

‘In the wake of this announcement, the club is exploring a number of options to help our travelling supporters get back to London afterwards.

No return trains are currently timetabled and we will let supporters know the proposed travel plans as soon as possible’.

If the BBC, together with the FA or whoever else was involved in organising the fixtures for the FA Cup quarter final had a plan to give us the least amount of support at OT, then they have probably succeeded.

As Arsenal Supporters’ Trust spokesman Tim Payton has said:

‘One of the magic things of the FA Cup is the large away fan allocation but the Football Association are damaging their own competition. They are sullying the brand of the cup’.

He also asks a very good question:

‘The football authorities need to explain why with four quarter-finals we can’t play two on Saturday and two on Sunday. This is another example of broadcasters and their money dictating to the inconvenience of fans’.

Makes so much sense doesn’t it, two on Saturday and two on Sunday, making the weekend a proper FA Cup weekend and much easier for all football fans but no, common sense seems to have fallen by the wayside….

Of course, Part 2 is yet to unfold as one of many incompetent referees and his three sidekicks have yet to be announced….

Oh I can’t wait for that news……

I hope Arsene Wenger and the players see things the way we fans do and it truly motivates them on that Monday night. What a day that would be if we can go there, take on all that the powers that be have thrown at us and come away with a win….

And we should because on our day we are better than them, far better and just because they got lucky at The Emirates a few weeks ago, that counts for nothing and let’s not forget who or how many were missing for us that day.

Ospina, Bellerin, Ozil, Koscielny, Giroud, Walcott and Cazorla. We didn’t have Coquelin or Gabriel either….

If Arsene gets it right, Arsenal will get it right too…..

Have a good Thursday all…

Watched two CL matches over the last couple of nights both had English refs one was Atkinson who was rubbish the other was Clattenburg who I thought had a very good game.

  2. rico says:

Didn’t Clattenburg take 2 mins do decide before allowing an offside goal which wasn’t offside?

Still think he’s the best of a bad bunch though….

  3. Joe says:

In fareness it’s going to be just as hard for all the man utd fans traveling to the game from the south of England and London. 🙂

Afternoon, depressing but realistic post rico.

Brad, it wasn’t that Andre Marriner just made a mistake, its that he accused the Arsenal players of lying, who must have been telling him what happened and that tv would show it shortly. How stupid is that? If they had been lying, all of them, they could have been under a disrepute charge after the event. But with all that, he thought he was right and would ignore all the protests. Fool of the highest order.

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
I have been offline for a few days and rather surprised how quiet the house
    has been.
Today is a big day for our youth team players.
They play Crewe in the youth cup ( Will Beilick play) and some of the
school boys will find out if they will be given a scholership contracts in july
    ( Beckham??? & Joe Willock???)
Injury News Tafari Moore injured since Nov is now out for the rest of the season, but Boo is back in training this week. No news on Isaac.
This morning Chuba Akpom was asked where do you expect to be in 5years
time his ans “Playing for Arsenal first team and ENGLAND” but Iv’e a lot of hard work to do.

  6. tsgh says:

    King Abou is back… WoW!!

He will be back to lead us over the final hurdle in April; in time to earn a 2 year contract

    Afternoon fellow HHers btw…

  7. tsgh says:

Motivational speech for a bunch of multi-millionaires playing for a fantastic club in the heart of london-town? 😉

What is this world coming to? 🙂

It’s like Micko needing motivation to shut the aeroflot doors. 😛

  8. BT62 Gooner says:

Ts, you’re tempting fate, mentioning hurdle and Abou in the same sentence…..

Maybe you’re thinking of the Grand National…

  9. tsgh says:

    Hi Rico, naughty girl… 😉
You need to follow Diabolic’s lifestyle and lead a ‘clean life’ as coined by AW… 😉

  10. allezkev says:

    Afternoon All.
    Afternoon Rico.

Rick, wtf had happened to Hayden?
    Good news regarding Akpom…
It just means less hassle during the ACoN.

  11. allezkev says:

So, Diaby is back in training Rico…

All that Diaby stuff is totally irrelevant as the team/squad has moved on and left him behind…

Just let his contract run down and see him off into semi-retirement in Ligue Un.

It’s sad, of course it is, he could’ve been a great player for us, but then so might have been Craig McKernon, Siggi Jonsson, Bobby Harding, Paul Brandon, it happens.
It’s a shit, but the downside of football…

The whole saga is boring now…

He isn’t ever gonna recover to the level needed at Arsenal, end of, fin…..

  12. rico says:

    I do Ts… 🙂

Not really Joe, more to help recover from shock… lol

Afternoon Kev, really good news on Akpom, perhaps he told AW and that’s why he’s finally being given a chance… lol

  13. allezkev says:

Well I hope Akpom has told Wenger that he’ll represent England, because Nigeria really fcuked us about over Kanu…

I’d still like to know what had happened to the youth system in Nigeria?
There must be tens of thousands of kids over there, desperate to be the next Jay Jay Ockochia (?) or Kanu, so what has gone wrong over there???

  14. Rick says:

    Game postponed again. Pitch waterlogged.
Why the hell can’t they play at the Ems.
Kev he had a operation in jan on his ankle and so far I have not been able to find out how long he will be out for this time

  15. allezkev says:

Yes Rick, why not play it at the Emirates, I for one, would go, but I ain’t slogging it up to Borehamwood… Joke!

Hayden is still young, this season might be a write off, but he’ll come back next season all being well. Coquelin proved that!

  16. Rick says:

I hope I have not raised all your hopes.
When I said BOO was returning to training I was talking of
Brandon Ormonde -Ottewill . Boo is his nickname.
I see that George was capt of the U 18 last week, he is hav’ing a very good season Kev

  17. Rick says:

The club have arranged with Virgin to charter a train for the cup game against Man u. They are also putting on extra coaches and both the train and \coaches are being subsidised by the club
Train Fares £30 first class, £20 standard Coach Fare £10

  18. Joe says:

    Well done Arsenal is right.
No matter which way you believe the club should be managed or run on most issues the club show a lot of class.

  19. scottfromoz says:

    Hi guys.
Sean had a trial last night.
An a League player was there as his son attends the school.
Agreed when I suggested these kids has better basic technique than plenty if pro players.
Also said he wished he was half as good at that age.

  21. rico says:

Wavy, I got Bobby about 15 mins before the end …. lol

    Morning all….

  22. Wavy says:

I thought it was Sue Ellen’s! And then they all woke up it was only a dream! You couldn’t write it!!
Oh! Some moron did! It didn’t do the ratings any harm though!

    Morning all.

  23. Joe says:

Ok Rico you caught me I don’t have a gun but the guy who soid me the t-shirt told me it would do the job just as well.

  24. rico says:

    3 points Lee…. 🙂

Wavy, that was Pam’s storyline… Bobby in the shower..
