Well now all the talk on Higuain seems to of settled on the fact that’s it’s a done deal..? Can we be so sure..? Is it a done deal with teams sniffing around who could offer more money than us? This isn’t a done deal until he’s actually signed and parading around the Emirates in an Arsenal shirt.
The interesting thing now is that the Rooney stories have now gone into overdrive again. Firstly Arsenal want Rooney to play with Higuain according to some, then it’s the fact that Rooney wants out of Man Utd and third Arsenal want him to kick start the revolution so to speak.
If Arsenal are prepared to offer him the wages it’s reported that he earns does that mean we really are prepared to match the top end of the market with players that we really do feel would make us that much better? Is this just media gossip that the club want the fans to fall for..? Is it genuine..? That’s the big question I suppose.
We have definitely not been linked with these kind of players the last 4/5 years, we have had the odd snippet but never repeated rumours and stories linking us with the likes of a Rooney or Higuain.
Is there smoke without fire regarding Rooney, despite what many think of him and the fact a lot of fans do not like him surely a player like him in an Arsenal shirt means our club is looking to bring in top top quality players that will make us very competitive again?. I’d love him at Arsenal i think he woud give everyone inside and outside of the club a huge lift and just imagine the intent that shows everyone else.
For me Rooney, Higuain and Fellaini would be the stuff of dreams, can it happen or are we just being led a merry dance again..?
On the exit front it looks like Djourou is off to Germany and hopefully Bendtner is also off to Germany as well, We have done pretty well so far getting shot of a lot of players that we all considered surplus to requirements, still a few more to go though.

I doubt we’ll get 5mil for Bendy, I reckon the club have drawn a line and think lets get what we can but not try to be greedy and just get the wages off the books, Santos, Chamakh & Gervinho to follow out on the exit door with luck…!
We will hand him a massive sign on fee to negotiate his wages.

So the Rooney rumour is back ,I cant see it to be honest ,but would take him all day .Seems it came from the same souce as the Walcott nutting Aaron Lennon story.I also heard that on the next night in the same club terrible Theo dropped kicked Shawcross in the nuts ,and rounded the evening off by laying out John Terry with his manbag.Now that would be a story.

So, 70M+ Hig is our transfer budget. May be even more if Galatsaray come through with awesome money for Gervinho. I like him and feel sorry for him but we shall sell him when we can. I think if Ox is going to be in our team then he has to play this year and that would mean 3 LWs. Poldi, Ox, Santi and Ger. Considering how fans feel about Ger, I guess its time to cash in on him else we’d never recoup anything from him.

@Dan: Idk, which way I fall on right now but I still think Rooney has in him to win every thing. And why SAF decided not to play only he knows. But then SAF and AW are entirely different managers. AW always supports his players, appreciates them and help them to achieve more than they are capable of. And I guess he’d this style may very well work for Rooney who feels under appreciated at Man Utd and wants to be top dog again.

Playing Higuain and Rooney upfront with Carzola and Walcott supporting on the flanks and Fellaini shielding the back four is what any Arsenal fan would dream of. Wenger need to use all the available resources to bring to an end the trophy drought as it will keep scaring off any potential targets. It’s a shame Arshavin with all his qlts left Arsenal a frustrated man with no single trophy to show for his tenure at Emirates. This has to stop if we are to challenge for titles.

WATH you need 5 central defenders for a season we have Koscielny, Vermaelen & Mertesacker only need one more and then we have Miquel who could do with at least two or three games this year. We do need an extra defender.
I see where your coming from Lawrence just can’t see that being a priority for AW at the moment if TV doesn’t leave, I think Miguel will be 4th choice and then we have Sagna or Jenks who can both fit in and cover at centre half in an emergency. Maybe this young German lad Ginter comes into the frame as well then as he can also cover as a centre half not just play defensive midfield that is of course if we are genuinely interested in him.
