So now Higuian deal is off & no Williams.

Well it’s being reported in the Italian media that Ancelotti wants to keep Higuain and not allow him to be sold.

So if this is true where does that leave us? Do we have other options? have we stuck all our eggs in one basket and Higuian was one priority and our only striker target?

Have the Italian media got it wrong and just looking to cause a stir with a story that has no legs? It does make you wonder though as why would Madrid be waiting on Ancelotti to rubber stamp the sale in the first place if they knew he was happy to let him go?

Maybe there are far to many questions all of a sudden to this deal and very few answers.

I just hope that if it doesn’t happen we have and had identified other quality strikers that we would go for if one or two didn’t happen for what ever reason. The other thing of course is the Higuain story a smokescreen for us go all out to sign Rooney?

The other story in the local press is that we are no longer interested in Ashley Williams from Swansea as we don’t see him as good value for his age, this of course now leads to stories that TV won’t be sold and that he has a new chance to prove himself again? were we ever going to sell him..? we need three quality centre backs as a bare minimum so yet again more dramatic stories out of the media as nothing much else is happening.

Right that’s all for today have a good one and lets hope the boredom is broken pretty soon.

I told le grove, three days ago !!!! So the Spanish media have finally gotten around to a story that circulated the net 3 days ago.

  2. W.A.T.H says:

Morning Dev, Yep boringgggggggggggg…! We all knew that though but I didn’t think we’d we discussing the very same gossip for 2 weeks…!
Morning Danish, yep seems the italian and the spanish media don’t chat 2 each other one runs one story the other runs with completely another… does make it funny though, well not fir us mind you..!

  3. W.A.T.H says:

To be fair adeyinka, if the Higuain deal is off it’s not Wengers fault or anyone at Arsenal if the new manager doesn’t want to sell Higuain lets just hope we have other quality targets if this one fall through

  4. tsgh says:

    Morning fellow HHers,

Where is Malaga Gooner? I guess Higuain did not pass his medical then? 🙂

Well, I suspected the deal to take a twist before we finally signed him or anyone else…

AW made Ancellotti’s life hell over the last 2 to 3 years with him hanging over his office at PSG like PHW’s cigar smoke… payback time I guess.

His press conference made it quiet obvious that Pipita will be staying or joining Napoli as part of a deal to bring Cavani the other way.

And as I mentioned weeks ago when this Higuain deal was being touted, I believed we the fans had to exercise caution because Perez needs a big signing to get re-elected so…

  5. W.A.T.H says:

Morning Ts, to be honest RM can tell him to go where they want but he can also refuse to be part of any swap deal if he doesn’t want to join a certain team. RM need the cash so I still think money will talk BUT will we be prepared to pay over the odds to give them extra cash to blow on Cavani..? Would it be better spent used towards trying to get Lewandowski..?

  6. S2S says:

Morning to all you in UK.

Hig is a done deal. We’d get him and he’ll play for us next season. It is as simple as that.

I guess we should think about who we want next. Two of those 3 since I don’t have enough time to see football beyond Arsenal and sometimes English football, I could name only these 3 and if possible would add Jovetic. Boy, he’s got silky skills.

    My pics:
    MF- Everton
    JM- Wigan
    CF-Barca

  7. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
    By all accounts/rumuors..
Ancellotti wants a chunk of Suarez,
the dippers are claiming a deal has been done with Real,
    behind the dippers backs.

It looks like the big boys are coming out to play,
    wonder where that leaves us.

  8. W.A.T.H says:

    Morning S2S,

I am not so sure the Hig is a done deal, has Ancelotti really put a spanner in the works..? Time will of course tell.

I’m with you on Fellaini, i want Rooney and also do like JM from Wigan but I’d also look at Capoue and also another winger if we manage to move on Gervinho.
I don’t want CF back either far to much history there for me with his tantrums.
Lewandowski is quality and would love him if Hig don’t happen and I think there are many good players in Germany for us to look at and very good value. They also seem to adapt pretty well to the English league.

  9. S2S says:

    For my earlier comment:
    1. Hig is French
    2.AW went to meet him.
    3.He wants to leave RM
4.As lovely as Naples may be, believe it or not, there ain’t another AW. He may have made his shares of Chacamakhs but his talent to make some one good to world class is second to none and GH20 being young would still want to get there and after that he can have his final pay cheque at Monaco or PSG.

The only way Napoli can get him is if they are really offering him 8Million and RM 40Million. But if they’re doing that then they can get any damn player on market. I really doubt they are that crazy.

So GH20 is to come to Arsenal.

  10. tsgh says:

Morning WATH, I always said it was a waste of time to try with Hig, considering the whole situation. Personally, putting what Rafa said during his press conference and the fact that Perez would need a mega signing to be re-elected told me, if we were prepared to pay £30M+ then they will sell…

The thing most fans over look is that both RM and Barca are spending £30m ish every summer unless they sell first (the last 2 summers anyways). RM need Bale or Cavani, after spending on Isco, they probably only have £15M to spend so in order to trigger Cavani’s clause something drastic has to happen in my opinion.

Swansea has gone for Bony… is that saying something?

  11. johnebsterJOHN says:

Look, you all. Think deep. PSG simply wanted Arsene Wenger(my favorite manager of my desirable team) to manage their club and I am assuming Ancelotti took to heart and very personally. I know this a bold statement…

So the only way to get back to his future successor(which would have be Wenger not Mr Blanc)was prevent Arsenal having Higuain….This is a big and could be a true C.O.N.S.P.I.R.A.C.Y…

  12. tsgh says:

s2s… you have a point about Hig being French… but bear in mind he is only french as a passport holder even though he was born in France. He played for River Plate if I am not wrong. But most importantly, Argentines LOVE Naples because of the Maradona(Hand of God)

  13. S2S says:

W.A.T.H: If AW doesn’t sign new contract then Carlo at RM should fear for his life cause as well known all over Perez is one of the biggest admirer of AW. There have been quotes by him where he says he sometimes has bought players just because A.W. was looking at them. And if I am not wrong GH20 and Benzema were two such players when they were signed.

  14. johnebster says:

U know. I feel we should get a domestic striker….And he is MICHU.I believe he can carry the weight on his shoulders after a season staying at the Emirates….Giroud and Michu would certainly be a great combination…..with Theo….Fantastic 3

  15. tsgh says:

Hi Fred, unless $hitty pay £30M for Hig, Unreal can not afford Surez at £40M etc…

I doubt Hig will move to the chavs, so that rules them out. We will not pay £25M so that makes us so and so…

Note, Hig has not put in a transfer request…. he won’t either. He will therefore expect his 10% if sold and believe me his father will want that amount. I doubt we will pay £25M for him, cover his signing on fee, and pay him 6M a year over the next 3 years…

After IG has paid his phd analyst to crunch the figures, I am certain Lew at 23/24 y.o will be a better financial investment than Hig considering over m.o and business model 😉

  16. frednerk says:

    Ancellotti..has reminded everyone at Real,
how good a player Ronaldo is.
He says: I am looking forward to coaching him.

    Someone has got to go?

  17. S2S says:

Ts: GH’s brother said the same thing but I think GH or his father has given his word to AW that he would join as the things are going. And I am very much sure about him.

    And about triggering Cavani’s clause:

If RM has 15M then we’d give them 22M for GH that makes it 37M. And if I am not wrong Monaco are in for Coentrao which means 15M minimum which would make it 52M and I guess 53M is his release clause.

But I still think RM should go for either Suarez or Bale. For all the hate Suarez gets for being a lose cannon, he still is the most skilled player prem has and 50M should be good enough for Bale who is one heck of a player even though it pains me to say that.

  18. Bisi says:

If truly higuin did not come to arsenal its wul be crazy and stupid for arsenal to ever sell or do business with Real.M. Again. Bcos its only arsenal that use to sell there best players to order club.if wenger go for tevex manC wil not listing to the offer. They wil not even take 10m. Arsenal wake up from your slumber. Our board are not helping matters @toll they are money frick

  19. moses says:

    Hi gunner fans!!!!!!!
Signing Higuian was like probability of whether to acquire his service or not. Lets not be one sided b’se still we have more choices to make on this. Jovetic, Rooney, Fellain etc….. all or amoung of these can join arsenal an do the best

  20. tsgh says:

Perez said he chose Pelligrini based on AW’s recommendation.

Matthias Sammer said he chose Van Gaal for FC Munchen based on AW’s recommendation.

Before manure beat us 8-1, Carlo said he was expecting AW to join PSG that summer so that he could take AFC job… allegedly AW was pissed off at Nasri being allowed to leave after AW came on TV to say selling both Cesc and NAsri would make us a selling club.

  21. W.A.T.H says:

johnE, what about Benteke from Villa would he not be a better option from the prem lge..?

Fred, I agree with Ts and S2S the Hig deal is all about what RM can get out of us…! It’s all about the cash and if we offer 20mil up front in one lump I reckon they will take our hand off to be honest. I am also with Ts, as much as I like Hig i’d take Lewandowski over him anyday..!

  22. S2S says:

Even though this is off topic how big a c**t JM is. He bought Fabio Coentrao for 30M from Benefica. He bought a LB for 30M. Can anyone believe that? How much would he have pocketed?

And what I don’t get is what he does on the player’s mind that whenever he leaves most players who played for him want to move on and leave the club in turmoil?

  23. tsgh says:

… and Real madrid can not afford to let Ronaldo walk for free in 12 months time… so they need to find (Euros) 20M to extend his contract from somewhere… that is where the contreia (spelling) money will go imho…

WATH, you know I will settle for Benteke… a low profile team player. A gooner too he says. £15 to 317M will do the deal I reckon.

  24. tsgh says:

Hi Adam… his AW wear read pants or with his rapper friend 😉

s2s.. another good point… is that not a form of laundering re mauren-yo

  25. Adam says:

I’d take Benteke for £317 million for sure.
Relax chaps. Ivan’s on the case.
Can you believe that some people think that the American actually went to the Moon?
Where is ma brudder Lee lately?

  26. Bisi says:

Why big club don’t like to sell there player to arsenal ? Real.M. Use to sell players to order club fine fine. But selling to arsenal always av obstacle why ?

  27. tsgh says:

Hi Miss Emma, how are you lady?

Abou Dhabi working out is a joy to watch 😀

Adam definitely £317M for Benteke 🙂

  28. W.A.T.H says:

Emma, thats funny, no crutches he says…. that mean he can actually walk..? If only what you said wasn’t scary it would be funny..!

  29. S2S says:

W.A.T.H.: I would acknowledge one thing I have hardly ever seen Gonzo play live. So, I don’t know about him much. But I trust AW’s judgement. I think out of 10 he gets it right around 7 times and the way Yaya is performing, I feel excited for him too. I think by the time we’d be ready to sell Gonzo to highest bidder he’d have become a beast of a player.

Ts: I think had Arsenal not embarked upon Emirates project, AW would have left but he is loyal and man of his words. He said Emirates project is 10 years project where we may have lull time and then we can move forward and that’s exactly what has happened.

Now, I really wish for him to take us forward and have a double on the bus. I cannot hide but admire his loyalty and even though I don’t like reading Biographies, if he’d write one I’d read it.

  30. tsgh says:

…American going to the moon; now that is a discussion worth having…

I still believe the world is not a globe… that is why Is ee no fault in AW 😀

  31. frednerk says:

    Anyway,
we have the best record in europe,
for setting up a deal ,
    then pulling out.

It’s not easy being a gooner.

  32. tsgh says:

On a serious note, Abou Diaby’s determination is worth a lot of respect… I judge a man on how many times he gets up to fight after he has been knocked down…
I guess not at our expense but…

  33. johnebster says:

Benteke is a perfect goalscorer but from what I can see between him and Michu with regards to proper ethics of play on the field, I feel Michu would be a team player than Benteke. Benteke seems a bit selfish at times….My opnion…Do not hold it against me, just my opinion….

  34. S2S says:

    W.A.T.H.

I would never have JM as a manager. If Arsenal appoint him some day I’d stop supporting us for a while. For me if you launder money for that amount more often than not you have blood on your hand.

Sorry to go such off topic.

  35. devilgunner says:

Ginge, when …….AW was pissed off at Nasri being allowed to leave after AW came on TV to say selling both Cesc and NAsri would make us a selling club………..shows that all the deals which meant the sale o various players were forced by the board.

Have you ever heard me say that everything at AFC is determined by boardroom politics???

  36. tsgh says:

😀 Dev… it surely does buddy… I guess the board know Aw is soft and can be abused because of his loyalty.

    How are you?

Emma, when is your bf Capoue arriving?

  37. Adam says:

That’s true TS. I nearly sailed off the edge of the world last week when I was collecting cockles at low tide off Southend Pier.
It’s always like this at this time of year. We want to have the sort of clout in the transfer market that the rich clubs have yet we have a curious owner and a weird manager who are inert.

  38. W.A.T.H says:

No worries S2S you can go as off topic as you want mate…!

JohnE opinions on here mate are always respected it’s why we all have them and are always discussed, you will never get criticized for an opinion on here.

  39. W.A.T.H says:

I like Michu but think Benteke would give us something different up front and for me a striker should be a little greedy, he is also only 23, plenty potential still.

  40. tsgh says:

Emma,His agent wants the move as I believe he also handles Falcao… but I also heard Capoue wants to move to EPL to improve…

It all depends on when AW makes the move I guess

  41. tsgh says:

I am with you WATH… they must be something about Michu for him to be overlooked by all clubs in spain including Malaga, Ath. Madrid etc

  42. emma says:

On the debate Michu/Benteke: I might be wrong but I doubt Michu will be able to produce the same form next season. Benteke has it all. I wouldn’t mind him in ‘The Arsenal’

  43. allezkev says:

    Morning Gooners.

Will he sign? Won’t he sign?

    Who knows? Who really knows??

It’s all speculation, Agent speak, the usual shit at this time of the summer…

I don’t have anymore knowledge about the Higuain saga than anyone else, nor do I pretend to be ITK…..

What I do know, is that I really rate Lewandowski. I would take him over Higuain, any day of the week…

Rooney, to me, is a red herring, I’ve thought that from the start and have absolutely no reason to think differently…

We won’t get Fellaini, that one was always a ploy to sell season-tickets.

Williams is still a possibility, it’s just Arsenal playing hardball with Swansea…

If we don’t get Higuain, Wenger will keep Gervinho, that’ll mean Sanogo will be the only striker addition…

Gnabry will be promoted to the senior squad, blah blah blah, usual bollocks…

    Guess what Gooners!!!

    They’ve mugged us again….

Gimme that Fiver Rico, I told you so didn’t I…???!!!

  44. emma says:

tsgh – I doubt if he is. Bony is an out and out striker compared to Michu. That would be a great buy if they are able to secure his(bony). Michu can play behind him.

  45. emma says:

This TV deal is making the smaller clubs competitive in the transfer market. Never thought it will happen. There are bargain deals in Spain and Germany which this clubs can look to and secure good players. English players come with a premium and are overated

  46. Scott from Oz says:

There is a little mors action tongiht, and it is great to see.
Kev, you can just feel that fiver slipping out of your grasp, and it is closuong your judgement.
    We will sign EVERYONE 🙂

  47. Russellt says:

I really wanted this deal to go thru, but let’s e honest it’s not happening, same as ashley Williams,Rooney and fellaini it’s all a smoke screen to make you all get your season tickets then we’ll go out and spend £10-15 million on a Southampton youngster that nobodies ever heard of,was we really that naive to think it would really happen,I know I was sucked in

  48. W.A.T.H says:

Scott we all know how grumpy AK gets when he realises he is going to have to part with a few shekles…!

No problem JohnE, you’ll find everyone has an opinion on here even Scott and he is always wrong… Sorry Scott had to say it… We disagree but we don’t abuse anyone on here it’s call sensible debate.

Ts, me a Cynic, we can call him Capo 😉

  49. W.A.T.H says:

Russell, I’m giving them til Sep 2nd, it’s still very early days for us to really get the hump about players joining, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until Sep, I still think for the first time in donkeys years we really are looking to buy big. I’ve renewed by ST’s but it wasn’t because of all the transfer talk it was because I wanted to..!

  50. Scott from Oz says:

Russell, the last Southampton no name we got seems to be working out ok!!
    Wath, that’s ok.
    I know my place 🙂

  51. Scott from Oz says:

    Not a chance mate.
I have them going all over the country to Gooners!
I kept some for myself though, naturally 🙂

  52. Canadian Gooner says:

    Good Morning fellow Gooners.

Kev – You’re a bit early trying to collect the five pounds, we still have nine and a half weeks of the transfer window to go.

I too would like Lewandowski, but any deal for him is going to drag on until the dying minutes of the window. He really wants to go to Bayern Munchen, but Dortmund don’t want to sell to their biggest rival, especially after having sold Gotze to them. Dortmund hope to convince Lewandowski to sign a new contract. The longer it drags on the more likely it is that Lewandowski will see out the last year of his contract and walk away for free next summer. If Dortmund decide to sell him to any other team, that team will have to convince him it is worth his while. That leaves it to likes of Abu Dhabi Citeh, Chelski, PSG, or Monaco to offer him silly money. I don’t see Arsenal trying to compete with them.

  53. W.A.T.H says:

Hope you sent out 36 and kept the rest for yourself Scott…..

Morning CG, I reckon we go lump on at Dortmund for Lewandowski which allows them to buy a replacement…! Top qulaity all round striker..!

  54. Canadian Gooner says:

W.A.T.H – The Sage of New South Wales is always wrong? Surely not. You overstate your case, even Scott has his moments.

  55. Canadian Gooner says:

Has anyone seen or got a link to actual quotes from Ancelotti regarding Higuain? All I’ve seen is rumour and supposition.

  56. Wavy says:

The same rumpur and supposition can be applied to us ‘buying’ Higuain!
It’s all tosh! Smoke and mirrors! Lies, lies and more dam-ned lies!
    Imo!
Believe it when its posted on AFC.com

  57. ktr7 says:

Hi all.this speculation is getting tiresome… 🙁 my guess is that madrid are the ones stalling the deal and not us.

  58. Kosta says:

It’s just a shame again to hear wenger stalling a potential move and we eventually miss out on it. If we do sign Higuain I will be surprised….

  59. allezkev says:

Ah, the Colonists are ganging up on me again…

    Stiff upper lip, what what!!!

Not grumpy Wath, just resigned to another summer of empty promises… 🙁

    Limehouse Link Westbound is closed…

The traffic is like Manilla on the furst day of the Christmas sales… 😉

  60. devilgunner says:

The problem with AW and IG is that usually they have only plan A.

They forget to stay calm and do like Mourinho…..remember that the alphabet has 25 more letters.

  61. Scott from Oz says:

I will stick by my comment that Higuain is ours.
Oh, and Aaron wil bag a hat trick at some stage 🙂

  62. ktr7 says:

slightly out of topic but how can anyone claim that Bale is the 3rd best player in the world…??? everytime I watch iniesta play for Spain especially he seems to be on another level to anyone on the pitch.I think Iniesta has reached Zidane’s level of play and even surpassed it.by far my favourite player in football right now.

  63. Canadian Gooner says:

ktr7 – Agreed. I think Real have used their lack of a manager as an excuse to drag the deal out in hopes of another club coming in with a better offer for Higuain after missing out or being priced out off their initial targets. I still think the deal will go through now that Real have signed Ancelotti and Isco.

  64. Canadian Gooner says:

Kosta – What makes you think that it is Arsenal who are holding up the deal. Arsenal has made an offer, but Real have not responded. How does that make it Arsenal’s fault?

  65. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – As always the optimist. When Rambo does score his first hat trick, you’re going to be crowing from Highbury House’s rooftop.

  66. tsgh says:

People forget AW and IG are waiting for Rico, the signatory for the club to come back from holiday… 😛

You know its all AW’s fault… come October, it will still be a few holding fort staying positive 😉

  67. Canadian Gooner says:

tsgh – I am well, thank you for asking. I have been busy visiting my children this last three weeks. Also, with little actual or new news on the transfer front, I have only visited the House occassionally. Hopefully we will have some good news in the coming weeks. In the meantime I’ll continue to wear my rose coloured glasses and follow Scott’s lead in staying positive.

  68. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – Too right mate. There is no pleasing some people. As I’ve already mentioned, I’m following your lead in staying positive. Here’s to the glass half full (at the very least).

  69. W.A.T.H says:

Monnone for Mignolet, seems a tad strange that one….!
Kosta, def not Arsenal messing around on the Higuain deal it’s Mardrid.

Scotts glass is always empty CG he’s always drunk what’s in it 😀

  70. George says:

    Good afternoon all…

I’m with AK on this , we’ve been sold a bunch of lies and we are not signing any of these names we are being linked to.

We are likely to shift a few more, and bring in 1 or 2 youngsters for next to nothing from France.

Furthermore, i expect a few of our loaned stars, to never feature for us and end up like Barazite, Lansbury and Jay Simpson- loads of promise and ability, but us hanging around for diaby to feature for his 4 games a season..

Here’s hoping after Flappers and Doorman ~Mannone go, we can rope Julio Cesar or Mark Schwarzer on a free for a year as cover for chezza

  71. tsgh says:

Wath talking about glasses being empty again… you drink the GG and leave the raspberry untouched 🙂

  72. SD UK says:

    Whats the fuss?

Add £10k to Higuain’s £130k per week, add £1mil to Real M’s £23Mil making £24Mil then still buy Benteke for £14Mil (Aston Villa will sell) and he will take £70k per week. That is 30% less than what we will be paying Rooney.

The only reason we shouldn’t at leats 4 top players is only if the board gets into their sleep mode and loose all their targets.
Just like we lost Mata to Chelsea after been linked with him for months.

I felt for Italy yesterday, somebody gat to stop the Spanish Armada

  73. George says:

    Hi Ginge,

Still having a tough time – no work and a battle axe of an ex harrassing me for cash…

8 interview 3012 applications and no joy…pretty much like our transfers at Arsenal , lots of effort and endeavour -no results

Hope life is treating you well…when is Rico back??

Good attempt by W.A.T.H holding the fort

Malaga gooner is probab ly spouting on LG lol

  74. tsgh says:

Maybe, our negotiatosr and board make our intentions or interest to clubs too early.

For instance, we are the only club I read about daily who are said to tell a players club to keep us informed on the players situation i.e like Reina at Liverpool…

In Mata’s case we agreed the deal way before we had even agreed to sell Cesc

  75. Ojewale Adewumi Opeyemi says:

i had no thought of confusing or been in expectation of signing great players like.. Gonzalo higuain, wayne rooney and many more.. coz this is arsenal we know quite long… they always be the detectors for the other clubs in europe to get valuable players… but still can’t say this can not well through but all i think is that we should hold and wait until we see the deal done… Mr wenger do something please…..

  76. Canadian Gooner says:

tsgh – Thanks for the link, but I was looking for any actual quotes regarding Higuain. I’ve read many articles regarding his ‘transfer’, most of which are the same few strories repeated over and over. The most recent twist being that he will be part of a deal to bring Bale to Real, but with no source attributed or quotes from Real. Probably some journo was getting tired of repeating the same drivel and thought he/she would spice up the story a bit. It is all a bit tiresome, but I’m not letting it get to me.

If all else fails I’ll see if Scott can ship me some of the Aussie Gooners wonder brew to numb my senses.

As for Zizou as assistant coach at RM, apparently it was a phone call from him that convinced Isco to shun Abu Dhabi Citeh in favour of Real.

  77. ktr7 says:

we are doing a great job getting rid of our deadwood…if only we could handle the other half of the job…

  78. tsgh says:

George, I do not know what your background is… but if you are an engineer with Radio, Rail, Aerospace , EMC,telecoms background I could be of help…. 😉

  79. Scott from Oz says:

CG, the brewer advised me against sendingthem overseas…they need to be kept chilled.
I can send some of our labels to throw on a bottle if you like.
I am off guys…have a great day and keep the faith 🙂

  80. Canadian Gooner says:

tsgh – Thank you, I’ll listen to some of them later.

The siren of sleep is calling me, so I’m off to bed. It’s Good Morning from me and Good Afternoon and Evening to you. Keep the Faith fellow Gooners!

  81. Allen T. Sumo says:

I am very disappointed of the news of Higuian of likely not been part of Aresenal squard 2013/ 2014,
From Allen T. Sumo of Monrovia, Liberia.

  82. W.A.T.H says:

George, Rico back tomorrow afternoon sometime so expect she’ll get all the glory of announcing our new signings on Sundays post..!

  83. tsgh says:

Where is Chamack? Is he staying or going? He is definitely flying under the fans radar like a sea-skimming Harpoon missile

  84. emma says:

Chamack is going to grab every single cent he can like arshavin did. I think he will accept another loan move as he enters his last year. We might see the back of him in 2014/15 season when his contract expires

    Believable (20) Unbelievable (46)

  86. W.A.T.H says:

I think it’s in our interests to just get rid of Chamakh ASAP, give him a free and let him go..!

  87. tsgh says:

He might still want at least 50% of his contract left which wil be £1.6m in order to move on for free

  88. tsgh says:

You can’t make this up…. AA23 knew he was not wanted but chose to collect him paycheck and sit on the bench but is moaning now.

”Andrey Arshavin says he had to leave Arsenal this summer otherwise the ‘monotony’ of life with the Gunners would have sent him mad.

Arshavin sealed a free transfer return to first club Zenit St Petersburg this week, after being released at the end of his contract.

But the Russian, who – for now at least – remains Arsene Wenger’s record signing at £15million, has fired a parting shot at the club by revealing he was being driven stir-crazy by being left on the bench last season.

‘The fact is I didn’t want to stay in England, this was clear since January,’ Arshavin told Sport Express.

Dull: Arshavin was forced to sit on the bench for the final part of his Emirates career (Picture: Getty)
‘I don’t regret anything, but I had to leave.

‘It was a punishment sat on the bench. To train even though you know you won’t play – it is psychologically difficult.

‘I nearly suffered depression, but I didn’t because I’m mentally strong. The monotony of life there was crushing me.’”

  89. agirlagunner says:

Booo!! Wow, two more months of this. 😕 Bore snore zzz zzz.

Good one, WATH. I hope Grandpa Kev gave you a nice birthday present. 🙂

Hiya, Ginge. It’s distasteful, what Chamakh, AA, et al. are doing. Sitting on their bums for doing nothing. they obviously don’t care about their careers.

  90. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG they only care about their bank balances, no pride or self respect it would seem.

Grandpa Kev didn’t even send me a card AGAG, he to busy maoning about loosing 5 pounds to Rico..!

  91. tsgh says:

    Hi there Agag,

getting ready for a shopping spree over the weekend?

Its hard to have pride when your bank balance fuels your ego…

  92. agirlagunner says:

Exactly, WATH. No pride! None. And the nerve to be moaning about it, too!

AK will probably give you a free ride to your fave pub. 😉 And he should really be writing off that 5 pounds. rico will win that bet. 🙂 Well, one can hope…

  93. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, nope. I’ve decided on a lifestyle change. No more unnecessary purchases. 😉 Wish me luck.

  94. W.A.T.H says:

Ts, when is enough enough mate, they only have a relatively short playing career surely you’d want to be playing not just collecting a salary..? as AGAG says quite distasteful but it sums up many players these days as they only care about the cash.

I only ever walk to the pub AGAG it’s so much easier than going to pubs and not being able to find your way home… just ask Micko..! Lee a prime example he ends up somewhere in Europe after a night out on the razzle..!

  95. tsgh says:

    Shopping detox… that is a first. 🙂

    You will be fine Agag.

WATH, its a short career indeed… in AA23’s case he had a divorce to settle. One has to wonder how much alimony he would pay a track-suit wearing WAG who adores the London culture ie theatre.

  96. agirlagunner says:

In Zurich, Lee? 😀 😀 Took the wrong train home? 😆 Wath, like yourself, Micko lives in a pub!

Ginge, not a great feeling, if I’m honest. I don’t use half the stuff I buy. Tut tut.

  97. tsgh says:

Dont beat yourself about it Agag… most ladies don’t and some men don’t either. My self included… My mrs talks about capsule wardrobe but does she practice it? NO!

  98. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, In a week, I would have changed my mind, I’m sure. Haha. But I like how resolute I sounded just now. 😛

I know ladies like your missus. “Capsule”, so so untrue.

  99. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG off the shopping……………………. Not happening but it did sound very profound lol

  100. W.A.T.H says:

Talking of pubs i need to visit mine before they send out a search party..! Have a good evening all and will catch ya later.
Drive careful AK will chat later if not will drop you a line on email mate and catch up..!

    Be good you lot..!

  101. allezkev says:

‘Ere ‘ere Agag, less of the Grandpa buddy…

Lee, Zurich eh? Did you bring home a cuckoo clock?

  102. Scott from Oz says:

Only because you are on the wrong side of the globe 🙂
    How are you Ginge?
I am off to work…….it’s all i seem to do of late lol

  103. johnebster says:

Hello fellas, I have just read some news coming from Inside Spanish Football which claims that Ancelotti has approved the sale of Higuain to Arsenal to fund the purchase of Gareth Bale from Tottenham…

  104. allezkev says:

    Cheers George.

    Good luck with the job-hunt.

We can have a good session when you crack-it, as you surely will…. 😉

No problemo Agag. I got a great pair of shoes yesterday, you would have been impressed. 😛

    I’m still waiting Wath……………. 🙄

  105. W.A.T.H says:

Ak if AGAG would of been impressed with the shoes you bought I am scared to ask… did they have heels and were they open toe or not..?

  106. allezkev says:

Higuain is on his way eh???

I won’t believe it until I read it in Bleachers Report….
    My transfer bible…

Now I wonder, if Wenger is still interested in Jovetic?
That one may have gone very quiet for a reason….
To put Mourinho off of the scent….

  107. allezkev says:

Ok Wath, what’s the SP on the season ticket situation…

Also, funny that the club, despite all the rumours, still haven’t gone public on the Puma deal.
    Why I wonder?

  108. W.A.T.H says:

SO to answer your questions the other night mate am told things are going along quietly but not much different to last season, ST’s are plodding along but the thing they looking at is the slow up take on club level and boxes…! We’ll only know about the waiting list in the next few weeks when they draw a line under ST’s that not been renewed…!
I think the Hig deal is completely down to finances and RM looking to get as much in as possible, problem is the few that were interested have all fallen away so they didn’t get the bidding war they hoped for..! Now i think purely down to Ancelotti and does he genuinely want to keep him or was it all bluff to see if we caughed up more cash.
The one that intrigues me is the big one though…! You know the one…!

  109. allezkev says:

As far as that Fiver slipping out of my grip Scott, I can tell you that that Fiver ain’t going anywhere, and certainly not to Madam Cava… 😉

  110. W.A.T.H says:

Mate we still have another year of Nike, hardly in the realms of doing the right thing to announce Puma when we still have a season left with Nike, you know we have integrity when it comes to things like that, we want to be seen to be doing things the right way.

  111. W.A.T.H says:

Mate, As for the 1920’s brogues didn’t you put a pair away way back then that you could shine up a bit…? 😀

  112. allezkev says:

Oh no, you still don’t think that Rooney is a go’er do ya mate?

I really really don’t think that there’s a cat in hells chance of him coming to Arsenal….

Hope I’m wrong, but I can’t see it Wath.

  113. W.A.T.H says:

Well all I know is we can’t decide for him and we don’t know where he wants to end up but we are def 100% in for him and doing all the right things…! That for me is a step in the right direction for sure. Many many factors on players joining but at least we are trying and that I won’t knock..! First time in a long long time have heard such positive things mate hence I’m not knocking them.

  114. allezkev says:

Well, i’ve got to have me kip, so Grandson, I will wish you goodnight….

And don’t forget to clean your teeth before you turn-in…

Even if you keep them in a glass… 😛

  115. W.A.T.H says:

I use the denture treatment you recommended to me Grandad…. You take care mate…! Chat in the morning sometime.

  116. tsgh says:

    Morning all,

We signed another sicknote Gourchuff… lol

So Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon’s chairman reckons our bidfor Grenier was disrespectful… lol

I thought the player was valued at 8M euros and he said we bid 7M; not far off then…. considering Grenier has a year left on his contract…

  117. W.A.T.H says:

Ts, Aulas hates Wenger with a passion mate you am sure know the history between those two…! I’d be very surprised is we ever got any player from Lyon while Aulas still at the helm..!

  118. tsgh says:

WATH… you won’t be happy… rumours are that the spuddies are planning to bid for Yilmaz.

HH need to put in place special restrictions when we are discussing potential targets as Levi’s scouts scout on here. 🙂 DG will write the program to identify the swampies’ scouts…

  119. tsgh says:

Hi WATH, especially after Park renegaded on the them after a medical… lol

Who says AW can’t be vindictive..
