He is just awesome!
Two wonderful goals, what a signing he is proving to be. Nasri has been one of our best players this season but yesterday he surpassed his usual standards.
Just before the quarter of an hour mark on Saturday afternoon, he left two Fulham players on their butts before drilling home our first goal from close range. Then, fifteen minutes from the end he rounded a Fulham defender, then the big Australian in goal to make it 2-0, magic, just magic….
Between the two fifteen minute moments of magic it was same old Arsenal that being frustrating!
But just as Nasri seems to do it these days, he misses one and then scores a scorcher didn’t he miss a sitter against Villa then score a cracker on the volley?
Well, he scored another scorcher on Saturday to break the dead lock and followed it with an even better goal…
This is when my day got better, I’d been travelling for three hours, had listened to the report on the game and when I arrived at my destination the score was 1-1. I was greeted by my footie friend who said ‘They’ve just made it 2-1, Nasri’ Boy was I happy!! Oh, and so relieved….
Van Persie was on the edge on the penalty area, he looked sure to take a shot but, he passed to Samir Nasri who then dodged past one defender and jinked past the keeper. His shot went passed Hughes who was on the goal line but the skill to make the goal was second to none…. The angle from which he scored was so acute… wow this boy is pure class!!
We may not have won the way we wanted or by the result we deserved but, we won and results like this one are what makes a difference at the end of the season.
How Hughes thinks Fulham were the better side, I’ll never know.
I certainly hope the result brings these two together…..
Don’t they suit eachother??
Nasri’s current form has been the subject of a few since he has found such wonderful form and Jamie Redknapp, who we all love to hate believes Arsene Wenger has finally replace Robert Pires.
Arsene Wenger has also made comment about our little French midfielder, he believes there is still a lot to come from Nasri.
When asked about the similarities to Pires he said,
It’s always difficult to compare, but what is important when you are a manager is you want to get the best out of a player and I always was a strong believer in him.
Many people questioned me when I took him here but he is showing that he is an exceptional talent and I think there is more to come from him. He was a bit too much attracted by the ball and we wanted him to do more once off the ball, go in behind without the ball, because we have many players who can keep the ball.
I don’t think any fans will doubt that Nasri is an exceptional talent and maybe there is more to come from him. The good this is he doesn’t seem to be a player with too much to say about life at the club regardless of whether he’s playing or not. He seems very happy and maybe that’s beginning to show on the field. He may have had a spat with Gallas within the French camp, maybe that did affect his play for his club but Gallas is long gone and Nasri has just arrived…..
I know which player I’m glad stayed.
That’s it for today all, have a good one……
Morning all, sorry about the P45, just can’t stand the man 😉
morning rico, any news on his injury?
morning didee, who’s injured??
back in a while guys, another busy day…
Those two goals brought to mind a fella by the name George Best – but perhaps I’m just showing my age !
UP GUNNERS 🙂 : )
🙂 🙂
who knew : top of the League 🙂
Morning all,
I still can’t get over the two goals by Sam Nasri, it was Poetry in Motion the way he danced through the Foolham defence? Amazing…!
Come on Arsenal, Upwards and onwards…or is it the other way round?
🙂
Neat Rico… A shoutout to my boy Andrei Arshavin too, I know Nasri’s goals were the obvious highpoint of the game, AA was mesmerizing as well. He is now beginning to show us his early form from a year ago, maybe it was the thrill of winning the WC bid for his country or maybe just the booing he reportedly got from the away fans… Whatever be the cause, long may it last. We could use more of that to help us emerge glorious in the challenging games to come.
morning all…tv out until the new year it seems.
My Thoughts
We are now top of the league , thanks to bad Weather (Blackpool vs Man utd cancellation) , Genious of Nasri and Chelsea’s dip in form 🙂
But can we take any credit for our positions or is it just due to the above mentioned ?
In my opinion i think it was both but nobody should still the fact that we still had to beat Fulham to achieve the top position. Man utd has a game in hand but we are playing them soon so we can control that .
This takes me back to 3 season’s ago where we were 8 points in the lead and we lost the top position due to injuries, bad luck and bad defending.
We are still bad in the defensive positions but at least we are picking ourselves up and winning difficult games(Everton and Wolves away) we can forget Totts and Westbrom Loss, now we can move on.
But we still have to win to get to the Top and qualifying for the Carling Cup Semi final can only boost the players moral.
I love the way we didn’t find the Fulham game too easy , that way the players will know what to do to get a hard win. This are looking good we can only be positive now.
TV’s injury has been a nightmare, Oliver. I really hope he gets back soon. Poor Fella…….. 🙁
we need him, that is for sure. i read arsene’s comments regarding why he has song so involved in attack. i’ll just say that i completely and utterly disagree with his thinking. i think results show that this is not benefiting us that much in an attacking sense and leaving us very vulnerable in defence. song did get that late goal at west ham – but the other side of the equation is how many goals could he have prevented by being in position to break up opposition play and screen the back four?
arsene’s the manager and it is his call…but i do not like this at all.
I understand your fears Oliver but right now whatever Wenger is using i guess it is working , we are on top .
He did change tactics in the second half and i must say it changed the game and Song sat in front of the back four as soon as Wilshere and Rosicki were removed.
We got the goal starting from Walcott. Wenger Knows .
sd, we’re top at the moment – partially because man united didn’t play. but we were quite vulnerable and as soon as fulham scored the confidence drained from the team, you could just see it…
arsene may know, but he does not know everything – nobody does. and he is as fallible as any of us. i do not profess to know more about the job than he does – considering who and what i am, that would be absolutely absurd. but i do have an opinion and i think we currently not set up to be successful.
Look Oliver , Asene W might have got something s wrong but he has done many things right as well.
As far as i am concerned , he bought the players , he trains with them and he knows their mental state than any of us .Therefore he knows and for us beating Fulham yesterday to take advantage of Chelsea’s defeat and Man utd cancelled game, He knows.
sd, nobody is arguing that he has got many things right. and i am not saying that i know better than him. i am, however, saying that he is getting this particular issue – pushing our defensive midfielder so far up ahead so often – wrong. we have plenty of skillful attacking players to do that job. song is a defensive midfielder, he is best suited to breaking up attacks and shielding the defenders – as he did so well last season.
we can harp on and on about how arsene brought these players, he trains, and so much else. but he is a flawed human being – just as we all are. and i see one of his flaws as an over-idealism about how he feels the game should be played. nothing you said is sufficient to convice me we can win things playing like this. you see it differently, as is your right.
again, he knows some things…but certainly not everything. any implication arsene is infallible is, frankly, laughable…
i see newcastle sacked chris hughton. sorry to hear that – i have a lot of respect for the guy, even if he is a spuddie. it seems evident that he did not really have management’s support there. i thought he did a great job with the team in the championship last season, and was not doing a bad job this season either – that certainly is not the most talented squad in the league.
ashley and his board will probably continue to wonder why they cannot gain any momentum or stability…
I was not surprised by Hughton’s sacking as they never did give him a contract. Under him New castle won the hampionship in style and they are currently 11th in the league. Mike Ashley seems to have other ideas and I’m sure their fans would like to have a chat with him….or lynch him
t, i imagine the reaction will be overwhelmingly negative. think back to the state of that club following relegation – shearer couldn’t keep them up and many predicted they would struggle in the championship. instead, they won promotion in style and are not doing all that badly so far. eleventh in the table, away wins at arsenal and everton, a 5-1 drubbing of the mackems, a draw with chelsea. are those returns really so poor? i would suggest that ashley and his cronies have wanted to get rid of hughton for at least a little while now and this is their excuse.
Spot on Oliver, if they really wanted him they would have given him a contract. A mate of mine was saying that Martin O’Neil could be the likely candidate to take over? If that was to happen, i see him having problems with M.Ashley
Anyway, its been a quiet day in the house so I’m heading home now. Have a good evening oliver!
Arsene KNOWS |)
Newcastle ?
What a shamble of an excuse for a club.
Now the players that clearly loves the coach will now be unhappy and will not play well and will be heading for relagation.
Westham will be happy to have company they kind exchange negative points with.
Club owners dont basically know how to run a club they always use the business approach.
bye
new post up…
