Should Arsenal sell Walcott to West Ham? Lukaku wanted & Is there anything wrong with this picture?

Morning all.

Jacks list of bloopers:

2010 Arrested for assault after a brawl outside a nightclub and eventually cautioned.

2011 Accepted a police warning after attempting to spit on a taxi driver wearing a Tottenham Hotspur hat.

2012 Warned by UEFA after tweeting about betting during an Arsenal Champions League match.

2013 Banned for two games after making an obscene gesture at Manchester City fans.

2013 Spotted outside a London nightclub holding a cigarette.

2014 Sky forced to apologise after Wilshere leads obscene chant about Tottenham at FA Cup victory parade.

2014 Smoking in a swimming pool in Las Vegas at a party after England’s World Cup exit.

2015 Caught on camera holding a shisha pipe at a London nightclub.

2015 Apologises after leading another foul-mouthed, anti-Tottenham chant during Arsenal’s FA Cup victory parade.

Jacky boy, England’s most talented footballer but a young man who is seldom far away from from a journalist’s camera lens. His face is known by all, he’s a target for anyone with a devious mind.

Last night he was having a night out with friends at Cafe de Paris in West London, a stomping ground for many top footballers and according to reports, a brawl ensued during the early hours of this morning and he was one of the people involved. Not only that, someone has alleged that our midfielder assaulted him, an allegation which Jack strenuously denies.

One witness to the incident has told the newspapers that Jack was inebriated which of course could be absolute poppycock.

But having only just returned to training after being injured since June 2015, should Wilshere be out on the town attracting attention to himself when surely his focus should be on getting match fit for his club and his country for the Euros in the summer? Everyone needs a social life I know but……

Arsene Wenger won’t be very pleased this morning but what about us Arsenal fans, do we care that Jack is out on the town and getting involved in such incidents with training just a few hours later?

Anyway, back to the title race. Two penalty decisions turned down for Southampton yesterday ensured Leicester didn’t slip up. Good old officials eh…..

Gossip –

According to reports, West Ham are keen on signing Theo Walcott in the summer and are prepared to pay £26 million for the England international. Don’t know about the price tag but Payet involved in any deal wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Finally, Arsenal are tracking Jordan Lukaku, the younger brother of Everton forward Romelu Lukaku, according to Calciomercato. Unlike his brother, he’s a 21 year old left back already in the Belgium squad.

    Morning all.
I can’t see a whole hell of a lot Jack’s guilty of that would be the slightest issue if he weren’t a footballer.
Yes, he should realise his profile attracts attention, but he’s also a young man, and people shouldn’t forget that.

  2. Jim Clarke says:

Walcott has under-performed this season and been anonymous in most games. With the likes of Iwobi coming good, I think we should get as much for Walcott as we can while he still has a potential value. I still have a liking for Theo, so perhaps it would be good for him to have a fresh challenge

  3. rico says:

Depends or not if he was really tiddled for me. If he wasn’t, no big deal…

Is he that young though, after all, he is a father….

  4. rico says:

I wouldn’t sell him to a PL club though Jim, certainly not one who looks to be on the up as West Ham are and they’ll probably be even stronger next season…

  5. Intolerant Kev says:

    Morning Ginge

Referees have their favourites, as we Arsenal fans know so well…

Leicester are the flavour of the month…
    Almost relegated in 2015…

    EPL Champions in 2016…?

    CL in 2016-17…
    Relegated in 2017…???

Man City won the league in 1937.
And were relegated in 1938, so it’s happened before…

  6. rico says:

    Morning again Ts..

Depends what Leicester do in the summer Kev I guess, they’ll certainly need to spend a lot of money being in the CL and their squad will be absolutely burned out at the end of this season because I think most of them have had little rest during the season…

Similar could be said about the neighbours…

  7. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Morning Boss and Peeps.

Trust JAckie boy to get into the news. So what if he is a young man. He should take care of his high profile and be responsible. Do we live once??? No we live everyday in the way we decide. But we must also accept responsibility for our actions.

    What an idiot.

Jordan Lukaku? why not. While I accept that we have Gibbs and Nacho for the left back spot we have to say that Jordan is a 20 year old as well. and he is already a Belgian international. At 5ft 10′ he has a good stature and can still learn.

And NAcho is not getting younger.

  8. Hell Raising Devil says:

Should AFC sell Theo??? Imo yes. and as Kev said…..why not take Oxford and/or Cresswell as part of the deal?

Leicester will be relegated next year. They will be burnt out by the end of December not by the end of next season.

They are simply riding their luck and being flavour of the month. This year they lost three only, two of them to us. Next year I will bet they will loose 3 or more by the tenth game.

  9. scottfromoz says:

Tell me what Jack is guilty of, exactly.
Being at a night club where the was a case of handbags at ten paces??
We tend to like to believe media reports when we want to.
If my son was guilty of being at a nightclub where an altercation took place, I’d say AAAANNNNNDDDDDDDD.??
    Who cares?
As long as he kept his nose out of trouble, so what?
Some person says Jack attacked him, or attempted to.
    Really?
So we choose to believe this rather than some drunken wanker is trying to get a pay off?
Nothing surprises me any more when it comes to Arsenal fans reactions on any topic.
If the same journo said we were signing a top player, we’d all laugh.

  10. Iceman says:

Sadly, I say that WHU have given 26 million good reasons to part with ‘project Theo’. He never really seems to have grown up – coming on and looking like he is trying to impress his teacher, whereas Iwobi already has a swagger.

As for Jack – yes he is young, impressionable and alas a little stupid. He should know better, but surely one of the grown ups that look after him will point him in the right direction?

  11. tsgh says:

Good bit of info thee Kev re. Mancity…
With The tinkerman always leaving after his 3rd season, it makes an interesting viewing…

  12. Hell Raising Devil says:

Its not the first time Scott. Its a collection of past experiences.

yes I agree with what you say. All of it in fact. However, this is not the first case as Rico pointed out at the beginning of this article. And when you are high profile, get paid good money and also a role model being responsible is a must.

Coquelin is the same age. How many times has he been involved in a bad situation??
Bellerin is younger. We only hear about his footballing exploits.
Chambers is younger. We only hear about how much he has cost Arsenal.
Danny is roughly the same age. We only hear how many open goals he has missed.

So we have to be careful here. JAck should accept his responsibility for all he is involved in.

  13. ScottfromOz says:

I’m still trying to understand what exactly he’s done wrong.
Seems a series of non events adding up to a nothing, IMO.

  14. scottfromoz says:

Keep in mind, I’ve been saying for 18 months we should sell him, as the side doesn’t work nearly as well with him in it, so I’m not playing favourites here.

  15. Intolerant Kev says:

Jack is a bit flash, probably reacts to the casual abuse and snide remarks he encounters on a daily basis from fans of other clubs, instead of biting his lip and walking away.

His mates should look after him better, but he also needs to be more streetwise himself.

There’s a world full of cnuts out there, desperate to take your (Jacks etc) picture and earn their 50 pieces of silver…

He didn’t do anything terrible, he didn’t kill anyone, but the Press/Media are all shitbags and he just has to be more careful.
Learn from those around him like Ozil, Alexis, Monreal, Mertesaker, etc, who stay out of the limelight…

I still like him, he’s one of ours

  16. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Boy, you drop by the House after a few weeks away and Kev has spawned yet another persona. How many is it that now Kev?

As for Jack The Lad, I wont comment on the latest story as it is unsubstantiated rumour(s) at the moment. However, I have a growing bad feeling that if Jack doesn’t show some initiative and maturity soon, he may be another of promising young players that fades to a nearly was. There seems to have been no shortage of these over the years. It is time he paid attention to those examples, else he may join their ranks.

  17. rico says:

    Morning Cg..

Perhaps his injuries might soon become a problem too, although if Diaby is anything to go by, Jacks Arsenal career is safe for a few years yet… 😉

  18. Hell Raising Devil says:

up till now we do not know exactly what was he doing there Scot. however the fact that he was there, involved in a brawl, questioned by the police at such early hours in the morning is not something to take lightly. and as I said….its not the first time. its not the first incident. he should take responsibility and avoid such places. As Kev pointed out…you will find dickheads everywhere but we don’t see Coquelin, Chamebrs or Bellerin in such situations do we?? we never hear these news about them.

So he should steer clear from these situations and places where he surely knows that there are people who are desperate for their 50 pieces of silver. he should be streetwise to steer clear of them.

He has been charged before no??? so its not the first time.

  19. Canadian Gooner says:

Rico – If I were Jack, I wouldn’t count on count on being given the same consideration as Diaby, Diaby had a good attitude and put in a good effort, but his body kept letting him down. A shame really. Also, Diaby was a pet project for Arsene and fitted into our team better than Jack does.

I see more of David Bentley than Abou Diaby in Jack. In the American parlance, it’s time he woke up and smelled the coffee.

Ginge – I am very well, thank you. I trust you are the same. However, I’m worried about poor Kev. It seems another ‘nearly season’ has unhinged more than ever.

  20. Hell Raising Devil says:

CG…..if Jack doesn’t show some initiative and maturity soon, he may be another of promising young players that fades to a nearly was. There seems to have been no shortage of these over the years. It is time he paid attention to those examples, else he may join their ranks.

Kev…..he also needs to be more streetwise himself……(and)…..stay out of the limelight.

Spot on both of you mates

  21. scottfromoz says:

You can just see a muppet walking up and getting in Jacks face.
It’s a side of footballers we miss…..they really can’t have much of a life away from the game.

  22. rico says:

Tongue in cheek really Cg re Diaby.. But I do think AW thinks a lot of Jack and his very unlikely to sell him.

My own thought is that injuries may end his career if he keeps suffering so many…

  23. Paul says:

£26m.. where do we sign? He’s not a bad player, but he is all wrong for the Arsenal system.. probably wrong to sell to West Ham as a counter-attacking side, which would suit his game down to the ground..

Wilshere seems a nothing story.. barely anything on that list is concerning.. Chants about Tottenham should be puts in the pro’s column!

  24. scottfromoz says:

Rico, so everyone should be the same?
I know you’re not saying that, but let’s face it, Jack is a hell of a lot more extroverted on and off the field than most.
He’s an individual and would obviously be better off keeping out of the public eye, but is that an indictment on him, or the public?

  25. Marshall says:

£26M? For Theo? Sell him. Trust me we wont be strengthening Westham in anyway. Getting rid of him for 26M would be savvy business for the club- ofcourse if we replace him with an upgrade *insert PEA here*

About Jack. He is always apologising and saying he’s learnt to be a better role model after every incident? He makes himself an easy target and problem is he hasn’t shown maturity. Being out with training afew hours away clearly shows he isn’t taking care of his fragile self. He needs to grow up. Imo it’s not being a good example being at the wrong place at definitely the wrong time..whether he was involved in the scuffle or not.

  26. scottfromoz says:

Rico, I’ve got no doubt that for every WOB, there’s an AKB.
His supporters may be less vocal, but they’re around, no question.
Some can’t see anything he does as wrong…..ever.

  27. rico says:

Guess I just see the bigger picture Scott. As a pro he should be aware of what he faces if he puts himself out there. All this has done is put him in the limelight for the wrong reasons and no doubt AW will now have to answer more stupid questions on how the club feel etc etc….

  28. scottfromoz says:

Here is a bloody interesting point, and though some will disagree, it is absolutely dead on..
” A fews years back TA, Merse & a few others actually used to do that sort of thing. We loved them for it, it made them more like us & we idolised them because of it.
Nowadays there are so many scumbags who get their mobiles out, take a pic then phone up the press & ask how much they will pay for a pic of Jack (or whoever) with a pint in one hand & a fag in the other.
    Different era, different mentality”
I remember reading an interview with an ex League player, a massive, massive name.
He laughed when’d seeing what today’s players get dragged over the coals for.

  29. Marshall says:

I bet in the next 48hrs JW will be in papers saying he’s sorry.

AW has come up with another phrase. ‘We are mentally pure’ didn’t bother to read what that meant but jeez can he stop? Please.

  30. rico says:

Have to disagree Marshall, I reckon Walcott would do well under a different manager..

I know Scott, I’ve seen them on social media and other websites…

  31. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – I don’t disagree with you. However, it’s more likely to happen to someone like Jack, who has a reputation of confrontation and who doesn’t seem to learn from his past indiscretions.

People in positions of power and/or high public profile are better and more interesting targets for provocateurs and the tabloid press. They either adjust their behaviour or suffer the consequences. It may not be fair, but it is one of the sacrifices of celebrity and notoriety.

  32. Hell Raising Devil says:

You know what Scott?? I guess you were born in the 60’s…..lived during the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s……was involved in a lot of shit situations…….and there are no mobile or smart phones to record you. So all you did is just memory now. lol

    Pulling your leg mate.

  33. Canadian Gooner says:

Ginge – “This season has truly eroded the last bit of confidence the last of the AKB had…”.

I know the feeling and I can sympathise. I’ve been close to tearing my hair out and/or throwing something at the TV on more than a few occasions this season.

  34. Hell Raising Devil says:

For 26mill yes I would sell him. But I would still ask for another player from Cresswell/Oxford to go the other way. Not necessarily get someone better as we already have Iwobi and Campbell for his role. He will never be a CF at AFC…..We have DAnny and maybe someone else will come in if Ollie goes. Theo’s only hope is on the right and seeing that Alexis occupies the left and both Iwobi and Campbell playing there together with the OX I feel its better to get 26mill for him.

If Gibbs is to leave and AW gets Cresswell in it will be like for like. I prefer Oxford though.

  35. Marshall says:

Rico let’s say TW improves them so what let him be great elsewhere. If he is not willing to fight for us by all means let him go. He won’t be doing us any favors staying while on his wages we’d get someone who’d really wonna play for the arsenal.

True, maybe under different manager he’d sparkle. Problem is we’re not getting a new manager soon- we can’t wait for TW to get a new manager either. Cèst la vie.

  36. Intolerant Kev says:

CG, a change is as good as a rest and my name mirrors my mood…

You should try it mate, you know, jazz things up…

  37. rico says:

Alexis has been on the right of late Devil. Theo can play left, right or central. Not always very well, but he can certainly play in all three positions…

  38. ScottfromOz says:

    Lol Devil.
I must admit to being at clubs where altercations took place……guilty as charged 🙂
I never smoked though, honestly 🙂

  39. Canadian Gooner says:

Devil – You may have said that in jest, but it all too true. With most people these days carrying cell phones equipped with cameras, there isn’t much that doesn’t get recorded for posterity. From the most significant to the most mundane, it seems to be of interest to someone.

I’m a child of the 50/60’s and most of my indiscretions went unrecorded, except by the people present. As for the events of the1960’s, you know what they say; if you can remember them, you obviously weren’t there.

  40. Iceman says:

Modern life for most people is a goldfish bowl experience – but for footballers and the like it is a massive aquarium where every move is magnified. Jack should know that.

  41. Hell Raising Devil says:

That is one skeleton out Scott.

I am sure there are more. lol. 😉

If Theo is to flourish elsewhere let him be. Hopefully Iwobi will flourish more at ours. And if its true that AW is going to buy two more midfielders (Xhaka/Mkhitaryan) than Aaron moves to the right and both the middle and the wings will be crowded. So imo…..for 26mill we should sell him as it relieves us of his wages plus we get good money which can be invested elsewhere.

But we must respect the quota.

  42. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – “a change is as good as a rest and my name mirrors my mood…” It may be the wee wee hours of early morning (04:47 a.m.) here, but I’m awake enough to have figured that one out. I am just concerned that this ever frustrating team of ours may just push you over the edge.

As for trying it myself, I have enough trouble keeping track of one personality or lack there of, if some people are to be believed. I salute your dexterity and flexibility in juggling multiple personalities.

  43. Intolerant Kev says:

CG, I can assure you that there is more chance of the Arsenal forcing you out into the North-West Territories, dressed in animal skin and living in a log cabin than there is of them forcing me over the edge. ?

That ‘train left the station’ years ago…

In fact, the last time I went to a game, Watford in the FACup, I was frankly bored…

  44. Canadian Gooner says:

Kev – Glad to hear it.

However, if you hear someone in the backseat of your cab start up a chainsaw – DUCK. It might be the Mad Trapper, animal skins and all. Although I’m sure you’re probably safe as I’ve grown too soft over the years to put up with/survive the rigours of that life style. I’ve met a few in my time and some of those were either a brick or more short of a full load and/or existed on a different cosmic plain.

  45. Wath says:

    Afternoon you lot….

Rico, as far as selling Theo is concerned is really makes no odds if he goes elsewhere and is crap average or a superstar as long as the player who replaces him performs better than Theo has for us it’s all good and lets be honest an average player would give us more than what Theo is giving us..! Can’t see how anyone would part with big money for him but stranger things have happened I suppose. For me it’s never about where they go or how good they could be it’s merely about the quality of who replaces them in our team/squad.

Can’t see why Jack got told off for his 2011 taxi indiscretion… whats wrong with abusing someone wearing a hat with a cock on it…. 😀

  46. Marshall says:

Rico, for his wages and the alleged transfer fee he can only go to a big club or an upcoming one like westham. Let’s hope AW would replace him with quality so we won’t miss him. (i know you will 🙂 )

  47. potter says:

£26 million for Theo plus 7 1/4 million in wages per annum really it’s a no brainer. And whilst we are on the subject of being brain dead what Jack needs are better friends. It reminds me of Gazza and Jimmy five bellies & co, always there to enjoy themselves on the back of their pet superstar.

  48. tsgh says:

Wath-as Pelle’ paid £2m+ for Cygan, it is possible we might get £25m+ for Theo… 🙂

Saying that our board will probably sell Theo for £15m plus £10m add ons based on performance and injuries (lack off) with the buying club. IG will then try to justify it by saying Theo is above 25 y.o say it made sense…

  49. rico says:

I would have Marshall, and prob still will but he’s not Arsenal standard. I’ve finally come to my senses… 😉

Have we any wingers coming through?

  50. tsgh says:

On a serious note… since Sven took Theo to Japan/S.K, it appears Theo has been doomed when it comes to tournaments.

Theo might not make it into Roy’s 23 man squad; based on form at least.

  51. Wath says:

Rico, do you not think we have better than Theo already and that’s even without looking… I’d say Joel is better just through work rate and effort alone..! Theo will forever be a player of “what may of been”….. Ts, 25 million zim dollars maybe but if anyone seriously waved more that 15million for him i’d take their hand off. Ox as well…!

  52. Intolerant Kev says:

    Hi Wath

You know, I’m not sure that I can see what all the fuss is about concerning Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain..?

    7 goals in 100 games!

We’ve seen glimpses of a good player in him, but are glimpses enough and can we not replace him with better??

CG, I will definately avoid picking up anyone dressed in buckskin then…

  53. Hell Raising Devil says:

If AW wants to satisfy the quota then he should add a couple of English defenders….from the lower leagues. I feel that there are good ones there. A couple of English CB’s and a DM can surely be acquired. After all who had heard of Kos, Elneny, Gabriel? All came from nowhere. Dont tell me English defenders are all crap.
And get as much as possible for Theo, Ox and Jack. 75 million for the three of them. bite their hand off.

  54. Wath says:

Kev, the fuss is about potential that never seems to materialize and if he spent a bit more time worrying about his football than social media and playing the clown maybe we’d be thinking he’d actually be ok for us. 100 games as you say and lets be honest what has he ever done..? Just like Theo… very very little to warrant the hype and thats all it is… hype cos there ain’t been no consistency at all… I’d get rid in a heart beat…. maybe i am ruthless but thats what I think Wenger isn’t…! If players aint performing get rid… Next….!

  55. Intolerant Kev says:

Coach, Arsenal need to be more proactive when scouting the lower leagues in England…

  56. Intolerant Kev says:

Wath, I just don’t see it, if a player isn’t showing some kind of improvement by 22/23 then you’ve gotta wonder how much they want it?

Coquelin was a late bloomer, and he came quite close to being out the door, but he grew up and now we’ve got one hell of a player with a great attitude…

Too much too soon for some of them perhaps?

  57. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House
No respite from from keyboard problem Rico, most days will not work at all.
Pleased to see H/H talking of the youngsters thought Kev and I were the only ones interested in them.
You asked about do we have any wingers ,
Iwobi Willock and Nelson are L/W Niles and Jeff R/W

Saying that Gatting always plays them out of their natural position and they all may finish as defenders
Tonight the U18’s are at home (Ems) to Man C in the youth cup S/Final.
Its live on ITV4 with 7.45 ko.
If you can watch it its going to be hard for the the boys.
Hoping Nelson gets a chance, think he is going to be good
    See you Latta

  58. allezkev says:

Not impressed by the referee tonight, another Riley in the making.

I thought that Willock was the best player on the field.
I can see him possibly getting a run out in the 1st team in the final few EPL matches.

Malen, Jeff, Bielik, Keto, Johnson all looked good to me.
But there is a complete lack of central defenders at Arsenal at youth level, I don’t know what our scouts are looking at, probably midfielders!
