Shock selection. Sir Bobby says it’s all over for Arsenal FC if they lose tomorrow…

Morning all.

I doubt there are too many fans who haven’t been left scratching their head having seen the Arsenal squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League. What on earth is Yaya Sanogo doing in there I wonder? As far as I know he’s not even fit and having not kicked a ball for so long, he’s hardly likely to bring much to the squad. Still, I doubt we’ll beat Bayern over the two legs so it’s unlikely that we’ll even get to see him feature and to check out the odds on us progressing in the big competition, go to footballbets.tips.

Sir Bobby says tomorrows game is crucial if we are t stand any chance of catching Chelsea. Lose and it’s all over he says and it’s hard to disagree. Even a draw wouldn’t be much good other than four maintaining our usual top four finish. We should have been going into this match against the league leaders having closed the gap by two points after they drew with Liverpool but no, complacency, arrogance, call it what you wish meant the team started the match in the wrong mindset and Watford took advantage. Then to hear Arsene Wenger suggest we weren’t in the right frame of mind or something similar, one can only wonder why. It’s the managers job to ensure his players are focused and at it from the off and it’s not like his touchline ban keeps him away from the players before the game or even at half-time so really, there’s no excuses.

Conte will have his players up for tomorrow’s match of that we can be sure and they’ll be out for revenge after being beaten so easily at The Emirates. And let’s not lump too much blame on the players for not being prepared after all, look what Conte has done with a very similar squad which Mourinho failed with last season. Motivation comes from the top and the top in sport, is the manager/coach.

But as said before and many times, it’s all gone a bit stale, no, dreadfully stale and if Wenger’s pre-match chats are anything like his press conferences or post-match conference, I suspect the players are as bored of hearing it as we are. Nothing is fresh, nothing he says makes me want to listen, not anymore as the same old excuses are muttered when we lose, the same old contradictions when having firstly said his team were mentally up for the fight, to saying after the match that they weren’t. It’s boring.

Arsenal are in desperate need of change and the booing on Tuesday night after yet another loss against a side who should have been beaten will not have gone unnoticed by Wenger.

He’s going to have to produce a big team talk ahead of tomorrow lunchtime because another start like Tuesday evening, this Arsenal team will get spanked….

I think he does. The reports this morning that he needs to feel the supporters love suggests that it’s getting to him.

Had we beat Watford as expected, I would have been really looking forward to Chelsea. Now I’m filled with despondency that just when we got back to 2nd, we are likely to have 0 or 1 point out of six, from a week in which we came off a good Southampton performance.

There is a totally appalling article about the whole Wenger/board/ fans thing in the Mirror by that bloke John Cross (again). This man has made a living pretending to be an Arsenal insider, close to the ear of the club’s management. He loves to drive a wedge between the fans and the club. His usual schtick is that we are all complete idiots who don’t know how good we have it and that we won’t realise how lucky we are until a new manager comes in and (obviously) fails because that is exactly what Cross wants to happen. Then he’ll have a whole new series of “I told you so” shit articles to profit from.

  4. Marshall says:

The sad part is us fans turn up to the matche and our players don’t bother. Am thinking of not bothering myself too.

If Wenger wants some passion and love from the fans he should reciprocate too. The stadium is always full, STs sell out, fans follow the team to cold nights up in Merseyside what else does he want from the fans? He should be honest with himself. If he knows/feels he can’t do better than finishing second(last season) then it’s about time he let go.

Good point on Conte rejuvenating a team Mourinho couldn’t. Someone else might do the same with us.

No comment on Sanogo occupying a squad position.

  5. rico says:

Exactly Marshall and I don’t understand why a number of fans fear change, new will be exciting, different and it could all be a lot better…

  6. Adam says:

Rico. I will never understand why Arsene has kept up this “I almost signed..” stuff. I think it probably has exactly the opposite effect that believes.

  7. rico says:

Adam. He just answered a question thrown at him to be fair, but as we’ve always said, he tells the media too much and for such an intelligent man, you’d think he know better..

Less is more as the saying goes….

I just think that in his 20 years he has made enemies with long memories. The press ,the F.A and most importantly the PGMOL. and Riley’s select group. As match going supporters you get to see and know each ref and what they allow. It’s no surprise to see Atkinson for Chelsea , his robust style doesn’t suit us and Riley knows it. I can only see a new face as a way to get a fresh slate maybe for the better maybe not. BUT it should replace the staleness at matches and that can only be good.

  9. rico says:

Good points but you’d think the media/press would love him as he seldom shys away from their questions regardless of how stupid they may be….

    Afternoon All

    Afternoon Rico, good post…

I can’t help feeling a bit sorry for Wenger, as Adam always says, he is basically a decent man who creates a wonderful environment for his players.

But players being the cnuts that they are, they constantly let him down.

You know, be fcuking professional, don’t rely on the manager to always wipe your arse, have some pride in your performance, motivate yourself and sort it out yourself on the pitch if it’s going Pete Tong.

I’m fed up with all these wimping millionaires escaping their responsibilities and then when it goes wrong, pissing off somewhere else…

All the same, it’s a bit rich AW asking the fans for some love, he ignores us 99% of the time….

I wouldn’t wanna be in his shoes at Stamford Bridge this weekend, sitting among all those BNP morons….

  11. Lewis says:

    Good day all.

I think we’re into that period of the season where we see our slim chances of a big prize extinguished. The Watford performance was the start, true to form when the chips are down we fall short.

I don’t think we’ll get anything from the Chelsea game and Bayern will likely end the tie as a contest in the first leg.

After that we’ll string a few results together and arsene will sign on, ready for a repeat performance next year.

    Groundhog Arsenal.

  12. Lewis says:

Also I wish that abomination ‘Arsenal Fan TV’ would eff off. Giving cretins a platform to air their views to a wider audience just adds fuel for the media to portray Arsenal fans as unreasonable, when for the most part people who want change are just being realistic.

  13. allezkev says:

Lewis, that AFTV really is embarrassing, who fcuking cares what Claude or Ty think ffs…

Yes, AW has to accept his responsibilities, but the players should spend less time on bloody snapchat, twitter and Facebook and maybe work out their performance related problems…

“it’s all over for Arsenal FC if they lose tomorrow…”
    isn’t true?

and I add: “… and if we do not win”

  15. Le Coq Monster says:

    Evening all and thank`s Rico.

I love hearing Wenger`s list of who we nearly/tried to sign………a list that of the worlds best..FACT!
Doesn`t he realise though that it just tells us that he wouldn`t pay the going rate on every occasion and let`s be honest it`s a long list and he didn`t get one of them…….Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimobitch, Bale ( this one is very curious to me as he sent Liam Brady to watch Theo, but Liam came back praising Bale….the Arsenal supporter……………… but didn`t listen to Liam Brady….what does Liam Brady know about football ?………..any way the list is long and no doubt pisses evry one of us off if you like top quality footballers !…………….I love Arsene, but I would also love him to go and please take Kroenke with him !…………..I fantasize about this reguarly…..cheaper than Viagra !…….not that I need it ! hahaha

Sure Obi would say that Sanogo in the CL squad is cheaper than Viagra aswell ! 🙂

  16. Alex says:

    Hi Rico !
Sanogo will demolish Bayern ….Fully tested machine….lol

Ozil will shine tomorrow and score but is going to be a draw.

  17. micko says:

Le Coq 6.25, maybe it’s that’s simple, we just need to stiffen up the back four lol.

Media lock down tomorrow Gooners, keep the curtains shut, turn off your mobiles and don’t bother with the telly and radio……….we’re getting stuffed !

  18. Le Coq Monster says:

Play the pace ( Walcott, Welbeck, Alexis, Ox, Bellerin. Perez, Koz, Gibbs ) and we will destroy the Sloane Rangers !……………….they will still win the league, but like last season we will be able to say we beat the champs home and away !…………….little comfort I know !

  19. Le Coq Monster says:

I wonder how many Spuds want us to win tomorrow ?………………….title aspirations need ambition……….not really in their locker is it, the thick cnuts want us to lose ! hahaha

  20. micko says:

The last time I was down at the scum they had a little Tesco express next door to them, to stop people entering with a weapon they had a metal detector fitted to the entrance, it’s real classy down at tottenham !

  21. ScottfromOz says:

Yes I am, but our boys will perform today.
They may not win, but I’m confident they’ll have a good crack.

  22. Adam says:

Morning Rico. One of the side effects of losing confidence in the manager is negativity with the team. From what I can see, there are a number of issues at the club at the moment.

  23. allezkev says:

    Morning All

    Evening Australia

    Morning Rico.

I think we’ll get a draw today, so our title hopes won’t be totally ended but for me, it’s all about the FACup now…

  24. allezkev says:

Yes Rico, it has been ever thus since 2004…
That’s when Arsene morphed from being a football coach into an economist…

    Morning JM, come on Benfica….

Good Morning my dear Mr Adam, are you ready for the game, green and petit fours per chance?
