Second signing imminent. Departure confirmed & Have you enjoyed the World Cup?

Morning all.

There’s a lot of stories about us being in talks with Nice over the signing of David Ospina. In fact The Metro believe these talks are at an advanced stage and a deal could be very close. Hmm, that’s funny as The Mirror suggest it’s John Ruddy.

I don’t think it will be long before not only a goalkeeper is confirmed but one or two others too. Sami Khedira is one possibility, Arsene Wenger has been raving about him during this World Cup as have many Arsenal fans and once tonight’s final is done and dusted, if we are serious about him, things should progress quickly and I suspect he’ll want his future sorted out before he goes on holiday. Just hope Jose doesn’t win this one.

Tonight is a huge night for Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker and their team-mates of course and I for one hope they can beat Argentina, lift the World Cup and then our boys get a good rest before they return for pre-season.

One player heading out again and that’s Wellington Silva, the player who has been on loan for what seems like years, is again heading away from Arsenal. This time he’s going to Almeria for a season. Will he ever play for the Arsenal, I doubt it as suggestion is his contract expires this time next year. Another waste of time, money and effort in my opinion.

Here’s today’s post:

All in all I really enjoyed this World Cup. The standard of attacking football was of a high quality, the defending, less so…

The players who impressed me were many and varied, but I shall pick my best five, excluding Sanchez who I rated the best, and who is thankfully an Arsenal player..

See how they compare with your favourites…

Thomas Muller is a great team man who never stops working for the cause. He is also a regular goalscorer and not least a scorer of important goals, due to his cool head and intelligent play. For defenders he is a right nuisance, a real pain in the derrière, an irritating sod who is liable to turn up on your blind side, steal the ball, score a goal and make you look a chump. Top quality player.

Antoine Griezmann, who despite the name, isn’t German, but French. He has a sure, deft, almost gentle touch as he caresses the ball and will dart into the box a la Freddie, to flick the ball home. He’s not afraid to get stuck in despite his slight frame and isn’t afraid to head the ball either. Comparisons with Robert Pires are obvious to me. He’s technical, stylish and a proper footballer.

Mathieu Valbuena is like Griezmann, in that he is small of build but he also is a huge talent. A midfield artiste who drifted around the midfield linking play but also industrious in a manner similar to Cazorla. A wonderful technician with the ball. Intelligent without it, always available, supporting his team mates and there for a pass.Another stylish, proper footballer.

Sami Khedira just oozes class, he’s another player who makes the game seem so easy. Pass and move, pass and move. All sounds so simple doesn’t it, well to Khedira it is. Outstanding accuracy in his passing, keeping the team moving whilst constantly probing the opposition for weaknesses. A supreme technician who made the German team tick and would turn any team of outsiders into a team of title contenders. A brilliant footballer…

Morgan Schneiderlin . The biggest surprise to me about him, is why he wasn’t a regular starter in the French team. But as Wath reminded me, nor was Koscielny, so work that out? Schneiderlin controlled the midfield with a minimum of fuss, not for his thundering tackles, so it’s easy not to notice him as he goes about his work. Accurate and varied range of passing, he always seemed to have time on the ball, which is a sign of quality. His tackling was beyond question, which makes me wonder why he hasn’t been snapped up by one if Europe’s big clubs already? Another proper footballer…

Those were my top five, but I was also hugely impressed with James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, Lucas Biglia, Tony Kroos (top top class) and the best in his position in the entire World Cup, Arturo Vidal…

Oh, and just to keep Wath happy, Angel Di Maria, he was quite good. 😉

Go Germany!!

  1. GILBO says:

In case you didn’t know Sanchez was signed last week so I will not carry on reading your news letter

  2. tsgh says:

For describing kroos and vidal in your post and rating them so highly you get a virtual cuppa of green tea from me…
you keep producing such fine post so frequently for a busy man… you havent got some forced labourers writing them for you? 😛

you left out fred and Joe… 😛

  3. Scott From Oz says:

Gilbo, read it again, and properly.
Kev rated Sanchez the best, but when talking about who me could well sign in the near future, means the five listed.
Still, best you move on anyway!
    Morning all.

  4. rico says:

    And Cesar..

Great post Kev. I’ve mostly enjoyed watching Chile, Columbia and other underdogs who have performed well. The team and workmanship of the Chilean side was second to none.

But maybe I was biased whilst waiting for Alexis to sign… 😉

  5. tsgh says:

Morning Rico, Scott et al… btw
statistically fred and joe and hulk were world class. ?. They made the brazilian squad when firmino etc coudnt. 😛

  6. obi1 says:

Well, I don’t knw how Wenger solves the DM issue cos having Arteta,Flame and Diaby in your squad for the season and still feel there’s emptiness in that position is a problem.

  7. rico says:

    obi1 – I think he will, how of course I don’t know but I fully anticipate s DM/HM kind of playing arriving…

Those you list give us depth, Diaby just keeps the physio busy…

  8. Hell Raising Devil says:

Go to hell Gilbo. and when you arrive send us a card…..unless it gets burned in the post.

Maybe they will teach you how to read properly before commenting.

    Nice post Kev.

BT62….I guess Brazil are in the same place England were in the 50’s………they thought that they were superior to the world in an arrogant manner. so they did not give a toss about evolving. and that is what Brazil need to do now. Evolve and keep moving forward. Otherwise they will get left behind.

  9. rico says:

    Harsh Devil….

To be fair, just as I posted Kev’s article, I had to make a change, maybe Gilbo had access before I noticed…

  10. Nickie says:

    Morning all,

    Nice post Kev

The 5 players who impressed me most

    Layun mexican left back
    Aranguiz Chilean cdm
    Cuardrado Colombian right wing
Sanchez Chilean Striker (odd one as it seems Barca doesn’t rate him)
    Gamboa Costa rica rb

There were the obvious stand outs i.e. Muller. But these players put a smile on my face.
can’t agree with Griezmann thought he was average.

Special mentions to mexican, Chilean and Costa rico set up defensively with attacking intent.

    Duarte Gonzalez partnership
    Medel Jara (Championship players!)
    Moreno and Marquez partnership

There was a 3rd cb or defensive player to these but these were core.

  11. Canadian Gooner says:

Good Morning to The Lady of the House and all fellow Gooners in residence.

Devil – I couldn’t stay long yesterday so I omitted to thank you for the great description of Maureen Yo – “…small mind and bitter soul”. I hope I got that correct. Classic description fits the pygmy to a tee.

Kev – Good article and some great player picks.

  12. Micko says:

Take no notice of this lot Gilbo, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion providing they keep it to themselves.

Merts will probably miss tonite’s game due to tennis elbow, tried his best for Brazils consolation goal the other nite but all that arm waving looks to have taken it’s toll.

Thomas muller, hard to look beyond him, 5 goals thus far, 5 last world cup & golden boot winner, still only 24, probably another 2 world cups left in him if he can stay injury free, some player.

  13. rico says:

Nickie, like you, I really don’t understand why Barca were prepared to sell Sanchez, I really don’t. Especially to replace him with Suarez. Great footballer but so much baggage for the money they have paid…

  14. Bt62 Gooner says:

Morning all, Dev, exactly Brazil need to move on and quickly, they certainly don’t want to end up like England.

  15. Canadian Gooner says:

Nickie – I won’t quibble with the rest of your picks, but I think Griezmann was much better than average. Time will tell, but I think he would be a better investment than Di Maria.

  16. Gonerjoe says:

Did I enjoy the world cup bye and large yes was a bit sad to see England get knocked out so early.
On the Wellington issue this looks like a classic case on how not to buy a youth player.
But I have to wonder on the work permit issues and if it would have worked out better for the player and the club if we could have kept him at Arsenal all this time.

  17. potter says:

Wellington Silva a conundrum and a gamble , he is bought because in Brazil he is touted as the best promising talent around. He is taken away from his roots and attempts are made to develop him further away from his safety zone. Perhaps a different way of looking at these kids would be to buy their contracts but leave them to develop in their own surroundings instead of touting them all over the lower leagues of Europe.Let them become great players and then bring them over when they have the necessary permits to play. Denilson and Vela two other examples where we spent fortunes and got nothing tangible on the pitch.

  18. Wavy says:

    Good post, again!
Of your standouts I suppose we could hope at least one of them will sign on the dotted line and turn out in red and white for us next season………….but who is it to be???

  19. BrainwashedKev says:

Thanks all, Glibo, patience is a virtue.

I threw them in for you Ginge….

    Busy today, COYRRJerries

  20. Canadian Gooner says:

Scott – “… and once Devil gets his claws in…” – that doesn’t bear thinking about.

  21. Gonerjoe says:

The biggest standout player was the Ox never did I see a player who did not play come back from the world cup with such an enhanced reputation. 🙂

  22. Canadian Gooner says:

Potter – I understand what your your saying and it does have merit. However, although third party ownership may be common in South America the FA and UEFA frown upon it. Just look at the commotion after the arrival of Carlos Tévez and Javier Mascherano at West Ham United.

  23. Nickie says:

I wasn’t disappointed with Griezmann, he looked elegant on the ball. Seemed to have more quiet periods than not. Potential is there but he’ll have to work hard for it

  24. potter says:

As always CG , it’s down to football to take away the problems of dual ownership and keeps the parasites away from the game, but that would mean getting off their gravy trains. What I am saying is buy the player at a reduced fee and loan them back to their clubs who are compensated further when they leave.

  25. Scott From Oz says:

Give Remy 80 and if he doesn’t shape up, sell him at seasons end…no downside, I reckon.

  26. BrainwashedKev says:

Thanks Nick, you picked a few good ‘uns I had forgot…

    Great point Potter…

£80k for Remy, hmm, is he really that good?

Think I would rather go with Joel Campbell.

  27. rico says:

    🙂 joe…

That’s a lot Bt, but I can see why he’d want that much. Nik B was on £50,000 for not playing. lol

  28. Hell Raising Devil says:

Thanks CG…re the Maureen yawn case

Kev gave a better description of Gilbo…..he called him GLIBO. Good one as he is not fit to carry the name of an INVINCIBLE

I reckon that Robben will win the player of the WC

  29. Nickie says:

This may come as a surprise to some as I slated him….but I thought a player who really progressed as the tournament went on was Ron Vlaar…..Back up cb anyone? lol

  30. Canadian Gooner says:

Potter – It has been one of those sensitive issues in the past. Around the time of the Tévez and Mascherano issue there was also a big debate about agents and academies in Africa buying up the rights to many promising young players. They had little interest in the needs or rights of their players, but just in the money that could be made from them.

Arsenal got pulled into that debate due to their affiliation with one or two of the academies and FC Barcelona whining about us signing some of their youth players out from under them before Barca could offer them a professional contracts.

It is still a murky area.

  31. Gonerjoe says:

Has anyone seen BT’s new promo ad for next season to say it’s taken the piss against Arsenal is putting it mildly.
If I had any sought of BT contract I’d be canceling it as soon as I could f***ing hell what plonkers ( wanted to use more discriptive words)

  32. Canadian Gooner says:

Well I’m off to bed to get some beauty (ha ha) sleep before the WC final kicks off. Deutschland über alles!

Have a great day everyone. Keep The Faith!

  33. rico says:

Al depends on what happens with our captain Nickie, many a story doing the rounds suggesting Man Utd will step up their bid this week…

  34. Hell Raising Devil says:

GJoe…..had GG been our manager instead of AW he would have made sure that the players see this before every game….

  35. Hell Raising Devil says:

Rico…….imo……..if Manure are willing to pay up around 12 million for TV05 then sell him and buy a new CB

We got Kos from nowhere and look at him now. Surely AW knows much more than we do about defenders.

  36. Micko says:

Gjoe, even Jose got a walk on part in the ad ! what a cupid stunt.
You coping with our national disaster……..garth brooks !

  37. Nickie says:

lol that advert, bt is one of the worst channels that cover football. Mediocre ex players, poor commentary, poor analysis. Arsenal are probably one of the clubs that bring in their subscription money.

  38. potter says:

Good comment on the BT board following their ad :-

Big clubs celebrate trophy’s, small clubs celebrate victories over the big clubs.

  39. Bt62 Gooner says:

GJ, did you see Flamini, getting a birthday cake, before BM away in the CL? It had 9 candles on it, from ITV.

  40. ktr7 says:

Good read kev.however di maria has not been good at all.against the swiss he lost possession over 50 times.I agree with the rest but for me Toni Kroos has been supreme.Madrid are getting one heck of a player.

  41. AndrewH13 says:

Rude first post but…. Email version from WordPress did say we hope to sign Sanchez so i guessed was written a few days ago. Quickly spotted by Rico of course!

  42. Gonerjoe says:

    Micko
I must have been one of the few adults in Ireland who did not have a ticket.
But hell yes we never miss a chance to shoot ourselves in the foot imagine. Someone buys a house around Croke park and gets upset when they use it.

  43. Micko says:

Scott, did you see in the papers Fat frank and david villa are heading your way this winter to play for Citehs Melbourne city then off to New York City in the spring, both clubs owned by sheik monsour, talk about show me the money……….

  44. Gonerjoe says:

    Bt62
Didn’t see it but I try not to watch any football on itv only when I can’t see it any where else.
Living in Ireland I do RTE which shows a lot of CL football which has the added benefit of a very good studio panel.

  45. Gonerjoe says:

    Devil
GG would have made good use of the ad hope Wenger makes use of it.
Maybe if Arsenal fans started canceling BT contracts and let them know why.
We wouldn’t have to put up with this anti-arsenal crap.

  46. Gonerjoe says:

Trust us to compare it to event that could have destroyed the would.
The thought over reaction springs or are the US navy setting up a blockade as we type. 😀

  47. Hell Raising Devil says:

Goonie seems to be partial to moderation.

The amount of times he has been in moderation are impossible to calculate.

    lol

  48. Bt62 Gooner says:

Newsflash!! US warships start blockade of Dublin Bay, as the Garth Brooks crisis escalates…lol

  49. Micko says:

potter, Eammon Dunphy was effing and blinding only last week, he didn’t realise the camera’s were still rolling, very funny to watch, you can get away with a lot more on the tv and radio over here.

  50. Scott From Oz says:

Micko, yeah it’s been pretty big news over here.
Even though they’re not their absolute peak, still quality players and good to see them run around given the chance,

  51. Bt62 Gooner says:

Can’t get Rte here any more, unless i get yet another box and sky block out CL football shown by Rte.

  52. goonster says:

I really hope Germany don’t choke later today. Kinda have this feeling that Argentina ll nick it on penalties. I think it’s messi’s world cup just like 86 was Maradona’s. Hope am wrong though.

  53. Scott From Oz says:

But Stan, you had a feeling Holland would win it 🙂
Germany should be just too good.
If they lose, they’ve choked, no doubt.

  54. goonster says:

Gee scott are we still on that. Sheesh. Alright I hold my hands up. We didn’t win it but mark my words HH we will next time. With a different team 😀

  55. Micko says:

Stan, the first dutch team to go through a world cup unbeaten, at least that’s what the record books will show and all you get is a bronze medal…..where’s the justice eh !!!

  56. Gonerjoe says:

Yep as micko has said he let lose with a lot f”………ing and blinding even promised to wear a dress if England got out of the group.

  57. Gonerjoe says:

    Bt62
I’ll act as HH war correspondent and let you know how the Dublin bay incident works out.

  58. agirlagunner says:

You write as “allez” and comment as “brainwashed”, in any case, this was a good one, you’re on a roll, Kev. 🙂 🙂

Other than Sanchez, my top players would be Vidal, Valbuena, Kroos, Navas, and Hamezzz or Robben (eewwww). 🙂

    Hello, all. 🙂

  59. goonster says:

  60. goonster says:

Morning agag…how’s manila this beautiful Sunday morning. Gosh I miss south east Asia. I had to get married didn’t I? Boy I loathe myself sometimes.

  61. agirlagunner says:

It’s humid, goonie. Ick. 🙂 🙂 Its’ 8:30, and the “realfeel” temp is still 37 degrees C.

You should be so lucky Cassie puts up with you. Lol. 🙂

I hope the Krauts smash the Argies. Argentina have served up the most boring football.

  62. goonster says:

Gee she’s lucky to have me agag…what do you mean am lucky she puts up with me. Am a hunk. Have you seen me? Lord God one day agag one day I ll post a picture of me on HH. You all will bow at the blonde adonis from Arnhem 😀

  63. Bt62 Gooner says:

  64. Gonerjoe says:

Nothing like a Mojito to make time pass quickly enjoy your BBQ might just do the same thanks for the idea.

  65. agirlagunner says:

    Riiiiight, goonie. 😉

    Hiya, Bt62 and Goonerjoe. 🙂 🙂 A “piss-up” sounds promising.

  66. goonster says:

Bt you ll be surprised brother…you ll be surprised. I should be an actor. Maybe I will. You never know.

  67. goonster says:

This is really going to break my heart..
Khedira to choose chelshit over arsenal. Hope it’s all shit. We need him. I need him. Make it happen arsene.

  68. goonster says:

Whoa whoa whoa….that was a low blow bt. Man that’s really cold brother. That hurts like crazy. Goosssshhh.

  69. Bt62 Gooner says:

Agag, no rain here today, WC final and perhaps a tropical piss up, what’s not to like..lol

  70. agirlagunner says:

Goonie, relaaax! Three Gunner teammates are already whispering in his ear. 😉

Bt62, GG with some tropical fruit juice! That would be perfect. 😀

  71. goonster says:

I hope so agag I really do. He ll improve us tremendously. A player of his calibre will make jack the Lad to up his game. Plus we ll have our fear factor back. Come on you fucking gunners. The anticipation is killing me. I wasn’t even thus excited when I married cassie 😀 come on yeeeeeeaaaaaah. Khediraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  72. Bt62 Gooner says:

  73. goonster says:

Am so bummed out rico…I so.wanna show agag how good looking I am I mean they don’t call me the blonde adonis for nothing.

  74. goonster says:

Where is ts? That’s odd. First time in a long while I ll wake up and not read his comments. Hope he’s ok.

  75. goonster says:

Man alive am now a smiley spastic. A grin must accompany a post. My cheeks hurt. How do you guys get back. Geez I can barely feel my face anymore.

  76. Bt62 Gooner says:

Agag, try a Morgans Spice, diet coke, a head of Guinness and stir, not tropical, but different, we call it a Captain Mickys’ .

  77. rogerbij says:

Thanks for the sunday post Kev. Tsgh I appreciate your link analyzing K. Personally Im leaning in favour of the other DM options than Khedira… Schneiderlin, Bender, Ginter, (maybe Kramer but dont know him well enough). Im slightly worried K doesn’t have enough ‘enforcer’ qualities, considering his reported fee/wages. Dont get me wrong though, I wont be complaining if he arrives.

  78. Gonerjoe says:

Just back in from lighting the BBQ this is not going well burnt my finger it’s not lighting and to top it off it looks like it’s going to rain.
Bit of race profiling where’s Scott when you need him 🙂

  79. potter says:

Put some dry wood under the charcoal , a lid full of white spirit , strike a match and stand well back. If that don’t work get a take away.

  80. agirlagunner says:

Bt62, I will try that. I will have to look for Guinness in my part of the world first. 😛

Goonie, you’re green with three horns and you wear lipstick. Your gravatar says it all. 😀 😀

Gjoe, go grill rico some steak/burger/hotdog. The meatier, the better. 😀 😀

  81. rico says:

Stan, send me the photo and I’ll pass it on…

Joe, don’t listen to agag, she’s being naughty… lol

  82. Gonerjoe says:

Yippee it worked it didn’t rain now drinking finished my steak lovely
And for Rico BBQed peppers, egg plant and corn on the cob.

  83. rico says:

🙂 joe, I just got fed up with all the mes over the years so when I had the offer of one for my birthday, I welcomed it 🙂

Shame it had to be assembled, that was tricky…. lol

  84. Gonerjoe says:

By the way don’t thick I haven’t noticed no one has asked me how my poor burnt finger is.
Oh thanks potter for the BBQ lighting tips in the end it caught in the end.

  85. agirlagunner says:

Gjoe, just some antibac ointment, and you’ll be golden. 🙂

rico, I had a comment that seems to have been swallowed up by the ether. 😛

  86. rico says:

    How’s your finger Joe?? 😉

Agag, oops, won’t be long before all that will stop hopefully…

  87. agirlagunner says:

    Not a problem, rico. 😉

Can’t wait for our next signing. I wonder what is holding up Debuchy. Khedira/Schneiderlin next

  88. rico says:

I reckon this week we’ll sign another agag, really hope we beat the chavs to Khedira. I like him although I understand why fans think he’s not what we need. But I disagree 😉

  89. Wavy says:

Debuchy, I reckon Ashley has come back with the begging bowl demanding more cash for the player! Nothing new there, but I think the negotiating maestros have put their proverbial feet down with a heavy hand and said “non”!
Probably deal off and he’ll end up at the poor relations oop north at the piddlepool! Or somewhere else who are prepared to line the fat man’s pockets!
Aren’t we after someone else as well? A spaniard or some such?
I may be completely wrong here but someone somewhere has put a spanner in the works!

  90. Rick says:

    Afternoon Rico and the House.
After a break of 5years Scout Shaun O’connor has
rejoined the acadamy. I believe this is not the end of the turn over.

  91. rico says:

Wavy, maybe that’s why we are in for the Spaniard, some 20 year old apparently…

I hope Debuchy throws his toys out the pram.. lol

  92. Rick says:

Rico He is the type of guy that shuns the limelight.
He discoverd JW Jet and others. I hope he has a number young
in line which we will benfit from.

  93. tsgh says:

Psg open to listen to offers for Cavani once Di Maria is signed..

FFP biting. AW the prophet since 2002… 🙂

  94. tsgh says:

So RM are trying to out do Barca.. James fee purported to be in region of £60m plus Kroos £25M plus if it goes through…

  95. tsgh says:

Leverkuson Sporting Director Rudi Voller on Bender “We haven’t received an official offer yet but inquires have been made. However, Lars wants to stay with us”- Bild

  96. Gonerjoe says:

    Tsgh
I feel we will get who we urgently need RB and a Wenger type DM pretty quickly.
With clubs trying to buy new players and meet FFP the might be some very good players available in the bargain bins.

  97. Gonerjoe says:

German mate of mine also an Arsenal fan coming over for the match with 3 Arsenal players I’ll be up for the Germany.

  98. Gonerjoe says:

Thank god Wenger doesn’t listen to most fans or media when it comes to buying players. 🙂

  99. tsgh says:

    Sweet: Come on Krauts; line-up: Neuer-Lahm (C), Hummels, Boateng, Höwedes-Schweinsteiger, Khedira-Müller, Kroos, Özil-Klose.

Damn.. Per has been dropped again!

  100. tsgh says:

I wonder if Lavezzi will be available.. Snap what do you think?

Argentina:Romero, Garay, Zabaleta, Biglia, Perez, Higuain, Messi (c), Mascherano, Demichelis, Rojo, Lavezzi

  101. tsgh says:

    Come on you MANNSCHAFT’s make it 4 please…1954, 1974 and 1990.

Goonie… don’t jinx it by supporting the krauts. 🙂

  102. Gonerjoe says:

    Tsgh I didn’t have a 7.03 I did have a 7.09 ha ha 🙂 but I like hearing that I am right.

  103. tsgh says:

    Dev, Snap, Kt, potter- Interesting

Pep has said he is going to play a back 3 next season…Pep Guardiola’s outlandish strategy for last month’s DFB Cup final against Borussia Dortmund:-

”A diamond-shaped back three to shackle one of the Bundesliga’s most clinical outfits”

So Pep is going 3 at the back with Javi Martinez as the sweeper to face Ramos and Immobile…

  104. frednerk says:

Great to see shaun back the geezer works his googles off been mentioning him on here many times.
Brady go’s shaun turns up,not hard to work out.

  105. rico says:

Bloomin heck Ts, you made up for missed time on here today… 😉

Evening all, come on Germany ……

  106. Hell Raising Devil says:

both teams are playing not to loose. The teams are keeping compact both from length and width. Thus play is compressed.

The team which plays quick one touch passes and manages to open up spaces will win.

Hi Ginge. Yes I hope Ozil will be the Hero tonight.

  107. agirlagunner says:

Unhappy that Per isn’t starting. The Germs do not look confident. The Argies look dangerous on the counter. But this Rojo fella should be cautioned soon. Kroos lucky there. Higuain with another miss. Lol.

  108. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, Giuseppe Zanottis? Nope though. Lol. The most overpriced wedge sneakers are made by Isabel Marant. I simply don’t get the appeal. Haha.

  109. agirlagunner says:

Is Loew sure he wants Per on the bench? Cause Boateng and Hummels and Howedes are looking a bit wobbly…

Lavezzi is milking every contact to death…

  110. agirlagunner says:

Ginge, did you see my 830? I’m a little alarmed if you are buying this by the way. Lol.

  111. Hell Raising Devil says:

How would you use Ozil’s balls Agag???? Would you waste them or make the utmost out of them???? 😉

  112. tsgh says:

Lol agag, I may not be a giant but I aint no sarkozi..
    wedge shoes nope..
it was a bair of trainers balo’s gf was wearing… horrid for that price.

  113. Joaquim Moreira says:

What is the problema with Khedira?
Boateng is faster then Mets and maybe stronger. Moreover, aerial ball aren’t important in this game.

  114. Hell Raising Devil says:

Hey JM…..Khedira got a whiff of Agag and he began running after her. He pulled a muscle because Agag managed to run faster. 😉

  115. agirlagunner says:

Dev, make the most out of them, of course. 😛

Ginge, horrid, I agree. Check out those Isabel Marants. They are even worse, all bulky and odd-sized.

  116. agirlagunner says:

Boateng gives balls away very easily, JM. I think Per would be a more steadying presence.

  117. Hell Raising Devil says:

Kramer sustained a head injury. so now instead of 4-2-3-1 it is now 4-1-4-1 for Germany.

  118. rico says:

Seriously though, i worry about Merts for this coming season. I really do…

I know that won’t sit well with a few here but just saying how I feel….

  119. tsgh says:

Agag will check out the isabella ones…
I wonder what they are made from to cost so much.
    italia 90 again.germany on penalties maybe…

  120. tsgh says:

Agag- Another label I don’t get is Maison Martin Margiela…

Then again I don’t have the dough to shop from that level so…

  121. Micko says:

I know the security guard at the cricklewood branch rico, I’m sure I could sort you out with a card but there’s a waiting list.

  122. tsgh says:

lol Micko Matalan is a bit scarce to find…

I wear Zara or banana repulic or uniqlo or primark now… its cheaper …

typical just when I was thinking I can have an early night, I have to write a post on world cup numerology for someone… tsk tsk

  123. Hell Raising Devil says:

Ozil is a team player. not one who seeks personal glory.

This is something that pundits miss or prefer to omit.

  124. agirlagunner says:

Potter, I hope someone pulls out Palacio’s icky rat tail. Lol. It’s annoying enough, but the fact that it’s off center makes it worse.

Rico, I can barely keep my eyes open….

  125. Micko says:

Get ozil off, podolski on for the last 15 minutes, last big chance for him to shine before euro 2016.
I really hate those argies !

  126. Hell Raising Devil says:

The argies are happy to defend deep and let Germany have the ball. They hope to sneak a win or play for penalties.

    Such is their negativity

  127. rico says:

What a stunning goal. The chest control and the finish was awesome.

Wath wanted us to sign him years ago…..

  128. Micko says:

No offense but what does wath know, we bought eilsfeld and saved 30 mill, look who’s laughing now.

  129. Micko says:

Don’t cry for me marge and tina,
The truth is I never left you,
    All through my wild gays,
    My mad existence,
    You are my friends still,
    Don’t keep your distance !!!

The only nice argie tonite is the one with hurt all over his face lol !!!

    Nite all.

  130. Wavy says:

Messi player of the tournament………..I don’t think so!
    Who fixed that result?
I smell more corruption in places of power at FIFA ! Ah well no change there’re then!
Should be referred to the ethics committee, mind you they’d fix that outcome too.
FIFA are one of the most corrupt institutions in the world, imo, of course!

  131. potter says:

Typical FIFA anything to keep people on board . All their decisions are made with the repercussions in mind.

  132. BrainwashedKev says:

Great result, best team in the tournament won…

BFG, Ozil and Podolski, World Champions…

  133. Wavy says:

I’ve heard FIFA were so unimpressed with the outcome that they have annulled the result, Germany are not World champions, that honour has gone to Qatar by public demand!
    C’est la vie!

  134. Hell Raising Devil says:

Good morning lovely Doves and Owls.

Per, Pod and Oz must be simply chuffed with pride. FA Cup and now WC.

That result simply means that now whenever they want these three (along with the whole German national team) can be managers/coaches. I do not know how many are aware of a little rule in Fifa’s statute of coaches but there is a little rule that states that WC winners do not need to do coaching badges. Winning the WC gives them the right to become coaches immediately. Another rule states that if you play 25 times for the national team you get a ‘B’ Uefa coaching badge.

The best team won. Thank God Goonie supported the Argies. 😉

  135. Hell Raising Devil says:

Spanish daily AS, one of the Real Madrid aligned papers, is reporting this morning that Sami Khedira will be an Arsenal player next season.
They say the player has made up his mind to leave the Bernebeu, despite Carlo Ancelotti’s attempts to keep him, because he doesn’t feel valued by the club. It’s also said that the agreement between the clubs is there, and just needs to be finalised.
His contract runs until 2015, meaning he has less than 12 months to go, which makes the reported fee of €29m seem a bit high to us.
However, it does seem as if there’s something going on here, much like the Sanchez stuff there’s a lot of smoke and some well placed people have suggested Arsenal’s interest is very real.
If he does sign, he’d become the fifth German at the club, joining Ozil, Mertesacker, Podolski and Gnabry. It would also be a high profile midfield signing, not the obvious DM everybody has been clamouring for, but he’d certainly add some physicality and strength.
Khedira is also a very close friend of Mesut Ozil, which wouldn’t be any harm at all.

  136. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Really AmazingLee.

    I was open mouthed.

    Robben, Hummels, Mascherano, Muller……….

The problem is Messi got 4 MOM out of the matches he played in. Robben got 3

  137. frednerk says:

    Morning All,
Mertesacker lost his place because germany played a high line, even without him germany got caught on the break a few times,
I like Merts he could end up captain,
but I agree with you rico, when our fullbacks push on,
    Merts looks like a tourist.

  138. tsgh says:

    Lol Dev,indeed.
After this wc a few things have be reiterated.
    FIFA is a mafia organisation
England has been rebuilding since 1980
higuain will always be a bottler
English pundits are clueless…the proof is the questioning of ozils ability.
    Morning all btw

  139. Hell Raising Devil says:

Dont worry about Merte my friends.

Not playing in the last games is healthy……..FOR US. Poldi as well.

Only Ozil played in them all.

That means Merte ad Poldi will be rested and ready for the new season.

  140. rico says:

Really hope that Khedira story is true, would be a massive massive signing imo. Not only do we get a very very good player but AW gets one over the midget!!

  141. tsgh says:

Scott, whats all this 14k nonsense? 🙂

What matters is he scored no goals and by EPL pundits standards Ozil is lazy and shite!

Jose had to go back to the future… he is bringing back Drogba…

One trick pony comes to mind…

Will Marianna accept a £10m bid from us for Torres?

  142. tsgh says:

Again the Bavarian Schweinsteiger showed how intelligence is what makes a DM not the brawl… if you have a solid box to box midfielder.

  143. tsgh says:

    ha ha Scott…

Dev… well is that a flat 5-5-0 i.e parking the bus or an inovative attacking 5-5-0 set-up? 😛

  144. potter says:

Schweinsteiger man of the match , he took all of his knocks but won the war . Brilliant player :-Ohh I wish.

  145. tsgh says:

ditto Potter- With all his injuries last year I thought he was finished but he has come back stronger than ever. I still have to remind myself that 5 or so years ago he was a left winger.

I was disappointed Kramer got injured and folks could not see what he is about..

Being told 15 minutes before a world cup final that he was starting must have been nervy and exciting as well…
He still completed 2 tackles in the 31 minutes he was on the field.

  146. Hell Raising Devil says:

that is a flat 5-5-0 mate.

Or worse still he could play 1-4-5-0 with a sweeper behind the back four and no forwards.

I wish we could stuff the chavs to the tune of 5 or 6 goals so that we can produce a youtube vid with us saying….I cant believe what I have just seen.

  147. potter says:

I hate 12.45 home matches . I have to leave at silly o’clock in the morning and can do nothing else before leaving . Don’t get home until 7.00 in the evening and can do nothing else after either. It doesn’t help to keep a harmonious married life going when the wife says can you just do this for me . At least with a 3 o’clock there is time before you leave to tot up a brownie point or two.

  148. rico says:

Don’t think the players like the 12.45 ko times either but for very different reasons…

Can’t imagine them having to tot up a brownie point or two, they just hand over their wallet…. lol

  149. potter says:

They say a woman’s work is never done but I think they spend most of their time thinking up ways of getting men to do it for them.

  150. Hell Raising Devil says:

nothing to do after 7.00pm Potter???

well you should take the wife to shopping centres and leave her there while you watch the game.

After 7.00pm you will find that you and your wife can do so many things 😉

  151. tsgh says:

The A11, M11 from Norwich most be the worst motorway on the planet…

I asume you don’t use the road on match days?

  152. potter says:

I live in the country and there is always work to be done in maintaining the surroundings , During the season the nights are dark before I leave and also when I get back , so if my wife wants to do anything outside there always seems to be a little preparatory job to be done first. Of course she doesn’t tell you a couple of days in advance she just springs it on you as you leave.

  153. potter says:

Have to ts , the only other route is single carriage to Ipswich and then A12 to London. Still with the new by pass at Thetford / Elveden threatening to open it should make things better.

  154. tsgh says:

Jeez, its folks like you who deserve to moan with all this trekking.

I do only away games and even though I do about 6 games away per season by the time you have bought your ticket and train fare you must as well travel to Barcelona for holiday…

On the other hand when I travel to Westfalenstadion to catch BVB and I manage to use avios for my flight.. it works out cheaper to travel to Germany for a game than to say Stoke or even Sunderland.

  155. tsgh says:

    Of course mate Dev…

I can get a flight to dortmond for £90 and then equivalent of £18 in Euros on train then my friend family pick us up and then return the same way.

    Ticket is £35 most times…

Stoke and Sunderland away for me was £62 on ticket and £65 plus £120 train fare advanced to shitty stoke…

That is not including or the greasy food I have to eat after a shite performance just so I don’t moan when I get home… 😛

  156. tsgh says:

    Wow Bt…
then again I prefer to stay in my armchair and make predictions on match day that cheese of Rico so.. 😛

Unfortunately i only get a maximum of 2 tickets a season for collecting stats as a hobby…

Last season I got Manchester and then Fulham vs Chelsea which i did not bother with…

Personally, I prefer away games for the siege mentality you experience when you are an away fan…

Listening to experts saying Arteta is shite and JW should start .. 🙂

I am not a season ticket holder so its easy to pick and choose…
