Second signing done, announcement imminent. Sissoko desperate to make Arsenal move..

Morning all.

If the back pages are right this morning, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is heading to Manchester City. I’m not surprised really because that’s what Pep does. He goes for the so-called best in attempt to win anything and everything on offer and we all knew the City owners would give him a bottomless pot to spend from.

Still, as long as Arsenal have plans for summer transfers and get them done, then what goes on elsewhere matters little really and I’m sure our defence and midfield would be able deal with PEA…. cough.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a name which just won’t go away, especially after reports suggested he’s flatly refused to sign a contact extension at Dortmund. With one year remaining on his current contract, the German club are likely to sell him this summer as losing him for free next year would be stupid. They did that with Lewandowski which was a massive mistake.

At the end of last season, Mkhitaryan was voted the Bundesliga Players’ Player of the Season apparently and many reports suggest he’s heading our way. I’ve only seen him play once or twice so with the help of Wikki, this is the type of player we’d be getting IF Arsenal sign him:

Mkhitaryan is an attacking midfielder capable of playing second striker as well. He thrives playing just behind the strikers, where he always looks to link up with his team-mates in and around the box. Tearing apart opposition defences time and time again, he makes space for the striker/wingers to exploit and create goal scoring opportunities. Mkhitaryan has been praised for his technique, movement, accurate passing, dribbling, creativity, ball control and work rate. He is equipped with a dangerous shot, trickery to beat defenders, and a superb vision to go for the pass.

Couldn’t we do with a player who will tear up defences time and time again, with trickery to beat teams who just love to defend in numbers and who possesses a dangerous shot? Oh yes we could but is he the one?

How would Arsene Wenger cope with having two number 10’s in his squad? Ah, but we need a right-back eh Arsene… 😉

Perhaps I’m jumping the gun a bit as until now, this story is nothing other than that, a story but reading around the Arsenal websites, it seems this guy would be most welcomed should Arsene sign him.

Other transfer gossip from the newspapers:

A second bid has been made by Arsenal for Rob Holding, that’s according to Wayne Veysey, the former Evening Standard man.

Arsenal are set to finally confirm the arrival of Nigerian sensation Kelechi Nwakali, according to The Sun. The £3million deal is said to have been agreed and the 18-year-old will join on a five-year contract from the Diamond Football Academy in his homeland.

However, the Gunners’ move for Under-20 Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze will not go through after the two parties failed to agree terms on the transfer. (surely not!)

Moussa Sissoko wants to leave relegated Newcastle this summer and has his heart set on a move to Arsenal. All it would take is a call from Arsene Wenger.

And finally, Jamie Vardy……. I’ll stop there, I’m already bored with this one….

Have a great day guys…

  1. Joe says:

Vardy is coming no he’s staying no his thinking about coming is this what being a football fan has come to.

  2. rico says:

Morning Joe, Kev and all again…

looks like Totts have won the race for the Dutch striker… £12 million… Would have thought he was right up AW’s alley really…

  3. Boyd Madikila says:

No no no we dont want Championship material. No to Vardy! Too old, too un-arse* …bring in real quality

  4. bradster says:

well let’s hope he’s closer to van Wolfswinkle rather than similar to van Niesellroy. 12 mil is a steal if he comes even close to hald the amount scored in the dutch league.

  5. Beige Gooner says:

The Vardy saga! Staggered that we couldn’t get this deal done. Staggered that we went for him in the first place! Yaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn zzzzzzzzzz……..is it possible to be very bored and very staggered at the same time?

  6. goonster says:

Morning gooners…great post again rico. Wonder how you find the time to write a new post every day. I know I can’t.

  7. goonster says:

As for Jansen let the scums have him. He’s a fool if he thinks poch ll bench kane for him. Am not so worried. He’s a good player but we need better.

  8. goonster says:

Two points stick out in this whole vardy bullshit. First point, why is he keeping mum if he really wants to stay with leceister? It makes no sense. A player that wants to stay will have come out and put everything to bed by releasing a statement. Talking about how much he loves and appreciate leceister blah blah blah. And telling us to fuck off. Second point no matter how much we all diss and hurl abuse at wenger he’s no mug. If this wasn’t a done deal he won’t be waiting for a second rated one season wonder racist son of a cow. He would have told vardy and his representatives to shove it and moved on to the next target. I mean it’s vardy not Zinedine zidan!! So am thinking it’s a done (and this is me thinking don’t get no ideas WATH lol) leceister are just waiting to sign someone to replace him before announcing it. wenger won’t be burned twice in the epl especially not by leceister or Jamie fucking vardy!!!

  9. tsgh says:

An enquiry has been made for Toulouse’s Yedden.I guess as a back up. He is at the right age although not the box office signing sections of fans are expecting.

  10. tsgh says:

Goonie, I can see you have been indoctrined by IG…

Like IG telling fans we are awaiting for RM’s new manager to arrive before we mad a bid for Higuain.. lol

  11. Lee says:

Aubameyang is who we should of definitely signed, fuck Vardy and he’s give a month to think about it, imho……

Weren’t we told we could sign anyone except Messi/Ronaldo??

  12. tsgh says:

Jose has probably made the second best signing this summer so far… Eric Bailly 10 years ago would have ben bought by AW now it seems he has gone ofF Franco- Africans…

  13. goonster says:

Hiya ts well that’s higuain and this is vardy. One is proven and has played at the highest level the other is a irascible pig. One has world wide acclaim the other has notoriety. One is super talented the other just runs around a lot like a ponce (like Adam ll say ????) so you do the math ts.

  14. goonster says:

Gee ts let him play half a dozen games before you dub him “second best signing ” because knowing you had arsene signed him you ll be up in arms saying he’s not good enough we should have gone for Gabriel ??????? ts you are one problem I can’t solve. I give up.

  15. goonster says:

We ll see just how good a tactician Jose is this season. With conte pep and klopp in the same league as him. I doubt if he ll win this league in the canter like he’s done in the past with chelsea. Even west ham under bilic ll give him a game and if we buy the right players maybe just maybe arsene ll finally get one over him. I see it all falling apart for him in 2 seasons time.

  16. tsgh says:

Best signing is Xhaka- Goonie.. I can’t win with you… 🙂
Re. Gabriel I said he was similar to Kosser whilst Ruiz who was similar to Per would have been better..

MAybe Bailly can be Desailly mk11 even though he gets carded quite a bit.. 😉

  17. goonster says:

I ve seen baily play a few times ts and yes he does remind me of Marcel but am gonna wait and watch him at manure before dubbing him a great signing. Rojo was supposed to be the next big thing when he signed for manure remember?? This is the epl ts. We all know how defenders struggle in their first season.

  18. bradster says:

What scares me more than Vardy is sites saying we are interested in James Rodriguez. He was a waste of money for Madrid based on one fantastic world cup goal.
Isco for me is the Real player we should try get of theirs.

  19. andrewh1313 says:

Morning all, good post in a difficult time rico.

Goonster, you sure ‘Wenger won’t be burned twice in the epl’
I’m not quite so positive AW always learns lessons 😉

  20. goonster says:

Lol for his own sake ts I pray he wins it. That ll shut a lot of doubters up (me included). I ll be overjoyed for him but it’s a tall order ts. 38 games arsene wenger??? Nah lol

  21. goonster says:

Morning Andrew well he can’t be that stupid can he? liverpool I can stomach but leceister and vardy??? Come on now.

  22. tsgh says:

Goonie- Have you heard Jose has put in a higher bid for Morata? If Higuain was so deadly why is no top team after him?

Conte is a hard man; Jose would not want to pick a fight with him…

  23. tsgh says:

Brad- I think James in Ligue Un was exceptional…

He could be moulded into a new RvP imho

Isco is a completely different player though…

  24. goonster says:

Didn’t he just sign ibra a few days ago. Well good for him. I like morata a lot but if wants to play under maureen then so be it. Am less concerned about that cnut just want us to get mkhitaryan so bad. Him ozil santi and xhaka behind them plus alexis and maybe vardy harrying the opposition defenders….man alive my mouth is watering. Get it done arsene and all will be forgiven. Heck I ll even wear a t-shirt that says “marry me arsene” to work??

  25. goonster says:

Ts spot on conte is not someone you want to mess with. Even in his playing days. Maureen has his work cut out for him this term. It’s going to be a great season. Can’t wait to see them all pit themselves against each other. Am especially waiting for shitty vs chelsea. That ll be a cracker.

  26. goonster says:

Yes Lee baily was gabby’s replacement at Villarreal. Funny isn’t it. A year later he’s on the move too. Lol.

  27. goonster says:

Ts that ll be the day. I ll take a bath naked in my bathroom if we end up signing mkhitaryan ????? oh happy day.

  28. tsgh says:

Only issue is AW will play him on the rhs; where he wouldn’t track back.

But with Rambo/Xhaka or Elneny covering in the double pivote it might not be reminisce of AA23..

  29. goonster says:

Ts i.might be in a minority but am thinking buy mkhitaryan for 20 plus sell ozil for 60 plus and split that money in half get us a super striker and give ozil’s number 10 to MK. He ll score more goals and maybe more assist than ozil plus this dude is a tough mother fucker and this is coming from the biggest ozil fan in the planet.

  30. tsgh says:

The yellow submariners will replace Bailly easily…

AW was fuming when BVB & Klopp out-bidded us for Mk’tayan from Shaktar…

I guess Jojic will end up playing in the whole…

BVB’s team has been dissected as well this summer…

  31. goonster says:

Am not so worried ts tuchel ll have funds available to replenish the squad. I heard we are looking at dembele from toulouse and a few other players. Almost a hundred million from auba mkhitaryan etc??? We ll be fine☺

  32. tsgh says:

I am with you Goonie. I see no point in signing Henrikh if Ozil is staying.

    Which striker though…

P.E.A father will push his son to join us if we were serious but as mentioned 3 summers ago; we placed a bid, got it accepted by Ettiene and then we walked away…

From the outside I think what held it up was Gervingho’s move to Roma or Lyon still not decided at that time…

  33. goonster says:

If bayern can offer anything more than 50 million I ll say sell mesut. We ll be better off with mkhitaryan through the middle. Plus I think he ll link well with xhaka better than ozil. He drops deep a lot and has better drilling skills to get out of a tight fix. He reminds me of Hleb but with better goal and assist return. I hope we get him.

  34. tsgh says:

Maybe we can poke Rudi Vollers’ eye for Hernandez…

What do you think about Modeste.

Conte has some piercing eyes… Edgar Davids and Conte at Juve formed probably the hardmans’ midfield…

  35. goonster says:

Isn’t auba shitty bound ts. That’s a pipe dream now. We should have gotten him while he was still with St Etienne. It’s too late now. We can’t afford him.

  36. goonster says:

Joe buying mkhitaryan and playing him on the wings is a waste of time. I love ozil but MK ll fit in nicely and do a better job than mesut. Our midfielders don’t score a lot of goals. Mkhitaryan ll put that to bed. Plus I think ozil is off this summer. Watch this space.

  37. Joe says:

Buy Mkhitaryan as well build the quality of the squad we can rotate them.
Wenger gets enough stick for not rotating during the season maybe this window is the time to improve the squad.

  38. Adam says:

    Goonster.
We don’t need to sell anyone. We can afford (almost) anyone these days. It’s more a question of the will rather than the finances. Our main opposition will come from those teams that have a plan and a strategy, especially if we don’t.

  39. rico says:

He’ll fit in well with Chelsea then Lee..

Sell Ozil??? No chance, not unless he really wants to go and I doubt he will if AW gets a few classy players in the team…

  40. goonster says:

Rico it’s just a suggestion gee keep your shirt on ????? but seriously mkhitaryan ll be better in the hole than ozil.

  41. allezkev says:

You it’s never really been clear to me, how long it takes to conduct a transfer, from the initial enquiry, to the player signing…

Some deals can be made in a matter of hours, other takes days, weeks and even months…

My suspicion is that Arsenal could conclude deals quickly and efficently if the pressure is on, but choose to prolong deals effectively losing targets because Wenger, it seems, just won’t push hard enough to get the deals over the line…

    David Dein got them done…

    Since his departure – inertia…

Frankly the whole transfer circus and Arsenal’s lack of urgency in doing what is needed when it’s needed is beyond a fcuking joke and boring…

I’m sick of the whole charade…

  42. rico says:

A really odd one imo goonie. Why sell Ozil who is now used to the PL and playing really well and bring in a guy who will need to adapt no doubt.

What Ozil needs is someone on the end of his crosses and someone who is on his wavelength…

  43. goonster says:

Well Adam apparently we almost did while he was still with shaktar. As always we dilly dallied and dortmund snapped him up. Arsene is a huge fan apparently.

  44. goonster says:

Alright rico I hold my hand up. Ozil stays. Are you happy now???? just saying that mkhitaryan ll be a better fit plus it took Sanchez all but 3 games to get used to the fabled “adaptation period”. Plus I think that’s what’s going to happen. Ozil is off and mkhitaryan to take his place. If it don’t happen I owe you 10 bucks. Lol

  45. Adam says:

When was that Stan? I really never heard about it from within the club. Surely Wenger could have bought him if he was such an admirer. What did he cost at the time.

  46. Le Coq Monster says:

Greaseman !……………..another who we should have bought when he was at his last club !
Theres` a pattern here !………all the players we want are ones we should have bought before Dortmund and Co bought them !

Sell Ozil !!!…………….Goonster you need torturing !…..I thought about waterboarding, but I`m not that bad a serial killer, let`s make it a Lagerboarding instead !………probably the best torture in the world !. hahaha

  47. goonster says:

LC lmao. You want to water board me. Hahahahaha that’s extreme. Am just saying. It’s just a suggestion guys. If we all agree HH ll be over after 20 comments but seriously I ll rather have mkhitaryan as my number 10 than mesut ozil.

  48. goonster says:

Adam really??? Do you know how many deals we let slip away because we were trying to save a few bucks. Wenger is an admirer of mkhitaryan and wanted him from shaktar but dortmund beat us to him.

  49. Le Coq Monster says:

Right back to my own torture………..shifting the last 9 tonne of sand in blazing sunshine !………at one point I thought I saw Arsene beckoning me into his bedouin tent in his budgie smugglers, but it was probably a mirage as Mkitaryan was also there in an Arsenal kit being felched by Vardy`s red plaster arm cast !.

  50. Lee says:

Sell Ozil, what a load of utter bollocks! The bloke is an assist machine…shame he had a lamp post in front of him last season!!

How about adding a proper striker to get the best out of him? I mean better than Vardy….

  51. bradster says:

perhaps ts, I never noticed James at Monaco so maybe he was exceptional. From what I’ve seen of him I thought he was average.
My counter to him been exceptional is that Giroud was golden boot in League Un 🙂

  52. tsgh says:

Those who slate stats are always first to bring up assist stats…

Even I never mention assist or chance created as they are anomalies imho…
If a fat bloke from the pub passes to CR07 or Messi he will score; if Pirlo passes to an ok player then its up to the mystic meg really…

Ozil is BM bound anyway; He was never gonna play into his 30’s here; its just a matter of him walking or we selling him first imo…

  53. tsgh says:

Kramer played his best football at Mong’bach…

He was not even selected for the Euros squad whilst young Weigl made it…

Saying that I still think Kramer was better than Sami last season.

  54. goonster says:

Ts if bayern are wiling to cough up 60mill I think we should sell. Anything less and it’s criminal. In a world where lukaku is valued at 65 million it ll be crazy to sell ozil for less.

  55. goonster says:

Rico I know just saying that’s how a club should work. You don’t faff about just get it done. They lost xhaka a month ago…a month later they replaced him. Not so with arsenal. We ll probably just make do with what we have. Shame really. The cnuts running this club has so much to answer for.

  56. tsgh says:

Rico- last season Kramer returned to his parent club Bayer 04…

He got games until my favourite south American Aranguiz came back from his injury… Kampl will step in nicely for Kramer…

I am glad Kramer did not join SC04 to replay Leroy

  57. tsgh says:

Goonie- Knowing IG we will sell Ozil for £25m plus performance related clauses… 🙂

Fans slate AW but until Aw stepped in Fergie was going to buy RVP for £10m…

Fergie describing wengers negotiation skills… “He (Wenger) could run a poker school in Govan.”

I still wonder what IG does but he has his fans so… hey?

  58. goonster says:

Lol Rico was that jibe aimed towards me. Pots and kettles. Lmao. Alright maam and Lee. You win. Let’s keep ozil hey we could rotate just like someone pointed out earlier but my gut feeling is that ozil is off this summer. I ll love to be proved wrong but if losing ozil means we gain mkhitaryan then I ll dancing in the streets. Better suited to our game Imo than ozil.

  59. Lee says:

Mesut Ozil has created more chances in a single season (137) than any other player in Premier League history…..

  60. goonster says:

Ts no way we ll send one of the best players on earth for 25 million. Come on man. Are you serious? If we value bellerin at 45 and theo at 25 then surely ozil should be in the 60s. No way ts. Fans ll revolt and I ll join in by drawing a mouthace on every IG photograph I see lol.

  61. rico says:

Doesn’t Ivan do all the PR stuff and sponsorships etc etc…

    AW does the rest because a) he’s allowed to and b) he’s a controller…

  62. tsgh says:

Ozil is a top top player but he has never been used as much as he has been at Arsenal…

Even at RM in a less physical league he hardly ever played 90 mins.

He was mostly always subbed at 70mins mark…

Still its good to see fans appreciate Ozil; 6 months after joining us he was close to being hounded out so well done to him for turning those fans around.

  63. goonster says:

Lee he did and yes if he had a better striker upfront he might have broken the pl assist record but we don’t and I don’t think he ll stay that’s just me talking but what about his goals return? For a player of his calibre who gets into goal scoring position a lot his goal returns stinks. I hope and pray he stays but I doubt it.

  64. tsgh says:

    Lol Rico..”AW does the rest because a) he’s allowed to and b) he’s a controller…”

No proof of that really rico. It fits the agenda to perceive Aw as that…

When I started posting here and I said the negotiators at the club were the once messing up potential signings you questioned me for proof.

I would have thought that after Cabaye’s audio was released that myth would have been dispelled but still…

  65. goonster says:

Spot on ts. Most fans wanted him gone after 2 months with us. They scrutinize everything he did. Even giving away his jersey at half time caused a national uproar. The poor bastard just can’t win. I love mesut always have always will and I pray he stays. I ll be gutted if he goes and we don’t sign mkhitaryan.

  66. goonster says:

Come on Adam we all heard the groans and moans whenever he loses the ball or when he don’t track back. I ve sen live footages of fans hurling abuses at him…at the Emirates!!! They jumped on the bandwagon that he’s a lazy player when in truth he covers more ground than most players on our team.

  67. rico says:

Even if Ivan is the big mover when it comes to transfers deals, it’s surely Wenger who picks the players, or in many cases, doesn’t…

  68. goonster says:

Anyway that’s by the way mesut is still with us and am estastic that we are looking at mkhitaryan. Him ozil santi xhaka elneny lecoq Wilshire and Rambo in the same team???? Lord God in heaven ?????? just add a striker and another CB and we ll rip it.

  69. tsgh says:

Who hired Tom Fox? It was never AW but I have heard fans say it was AW so he could control him…

    After joining AV he has been found out for being the journey man he was… the number of negotiations he messed up including Mata…;

The club just walking away from agreed deals without common courtesy etc

  70. Adam says:

Stan. You are seeing clips put together by people with their own agendas. Of course there were doubts as there are about every player at one time or another but, believe me, as someone who has seen just about every home game he has played in, the Arsenal crowd has been pretty supportive of him though, as we see, the Arsenal family contains all sorts and we have become defined, via the press and the net, by our differences rather than our togetherness.

  71. tsgh says:

Apparentlyit was AW who had to step in to put a clause in vela’s deal.. Fox and IG were seriously protected by AW’s footballing knowledge and charisma…

Albeit the clause was useless as Vela never wanted to come back to the EPL but AW thought about the club…IG was just happy to sell to make his P/L account look good.

  72. Adam says:

Rico. Yes, from what I see, there is a pretty established process though Arsene gets involved at various stages, usually by meeting the player in question personally. I doubt it is set in stone though. 🙂

  73. goonster says:

OK Adam ☺I ll take your word for it. Just pray he stays. We need to strengthen not weaken our team. Him and mkhitaryan ll make the team stronger.

  74. rico says:

I wonder how much of fans criticism of certain players at times is down to frustration. Performances, lack of depth/strength in the squad etc etc because if things had been better, an odd mistake or two by players would probably go relatively unnoticed…

  75. tsgh says:

    True Rico.

Goonie- do you recall how Tom Fox handled Delphi’s contract/exit at AV? That was Tom Foxes first job…

Another example of who our COO was and how all those incompetent men were rescued by AW’s know how…

Fox put in a measly £8 million for a player worth twice, possibly three times that. The following week Delph was off to city…

To me putting together just snippets of what is out there goes to show how we should be a tad concerned with the future of the club without AW’s involvement even at board or advisory level…y

  76. obi says:

Hi All, sometimes I wonder whether some of the comments are in jest: like “James is a one horse pony”, “James is a waste of money”, “Mkhitaryan is a better 10 than Ozil” lol. James at Monoco, with Columbia, even last night, watch how the dude bosses games, his service and his movement is crazy. At Madrid the problem is not James but the fact that Madrid has 3-4 players at his position, and they bought him for jersey sales and plus Madrid is all politics. As fans, sometimes we get so bug down with the positions, is not were the player starts, but where he ends up and where he moves from and to. Watch Arteta, Santi and Ozil, watch Messi, Neymer and Suarez for that matter watch Ramsey – though for the wrong reason – that’s how you play football. Midfielder of Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Santi and Xhaxa wins championships. You put James and Mkhitaryan on this current Arsenal team and on fear factor alone you win games. Sorry for been long.

  77. Marshall says:

Ozil is one player I’d keep ahead of anyone else. He gets lazy sometimes but boy he’s WC. I doubt if Mikhtaryan would get involved in 24+ goals for us.
Get Ozil a proper striker. HM as a rotation and interchanging for the hole it’s Welcomed…as a replacement for Ozil nah.

  78. rico says:

Obi, did you mean ‘Arteta in his day’….? 😉

Me too Marshall, me too. Losing Ozil would be a disaster imo.

  79. tsgh says:

Marshall – totally agree with all you have said but in my cases you can only predict what a man MIGHT do in future by his past deeds…

Even CID’s use that technique in detective work…
    Back to my point…
AW could not rotate Kanu and DB10 even though he knew they could not play together.

AW could not rotate Wiltord and so he played him on the wings and made Wiltord get cheesed off and leave on a free…

Eboue was voted best RB in Europe before AW bought Sagna. Instead AW rotating both players he moved Eboue into any position that needed filling but CF and CB…

AW can’t rotate JW & Ramsey.

AW could not rotate SC19 and Ozil; even I knew Santi was a better no.6 than a no.11 but AW insisted on playing all his best players at the same time…

SO in all likeness AW will play MH as a winger and make us even more predictable… imho of course

  80. Joe says:

Tsgh are you saying someone or more than one someone was bad mouthing Õzil now I find that hard to believe

  81. Lee says:

If someone was bad mouthing Walcott, Ox, Gibbs, Flamini, Arteta , Giroud or Wenger that would be acceptable. Ozil is really top drawer, but just buying him without someone to finish off his chances was utter madness!

  82. Le Coq Monster says:

Just another 3 tonne of sand to move ….phew !!!
The desert heat is playing more tricks with my mind……..Usmanov has just buried Kroenke upto his neck in the sand and negotiated all of Kroenkes shares for release !…………..that`s the good bit !…………trouble is………. Goonster is here and just killed Ozil and is taking over from Arsene !………water water give me water !

  83. Joe says:

Tsgh not even an unsubstantiated comment it could be taken as the truth with no proof of any kind

  84. Obi says:

Rico @2:05, yes. But even at his advanced age he was able to do it – thou not often. In one game where he, Ozil and Santi played like 25 minutes together (think it was against Stokes have to check the DVR), the stokes players couldn’t even get close to them, it was awesome. N btw Bradster, when Giroud won the scoring title at Montpelier, they played a totally different style than the “hold up play” AW is asking him to play.

  85. rico says:

Just kidding really Obi, I thought Arteta did a good job for us all things considered, just once his legs had gone it was a real struggle for him…

  86. tsgh says:

I was at the away game vs Leicester when MA08 came on and boy or boy… Ozil looked a different player for the 35 or so minutes MA08 was on before he got injured again…

One of our best performances last season including Watford game as well.
In my view, if AW had bought MA08 when we lost Silva and paired him with Cesc we would have been a different team then…

Mikel was unlucky in his career really being signed to Barca and having Cocu, Xavi, Guardiola, Luis Enrique in front of him…

  87. goonster says:

Ts I remember a game some seasons ago. It was manure vs everton and the cnuts were leading 3.0 at Goodison park with 20 to go. Then arteta took over and bam the game ended 3.3 and everton could have won it with the last kick of the game but the stupid ref ended the game just before tim Cahill could shoot. Red nose was loosing his shit on the sidelines. Yes you are right if only we got mikel earlier in his career I think we might have won a few titles along the way. Maybe even the cl.

  88. goonster says:

That Barca team was one that could have dominated Europe but funny they went without a trophy for 4 years. I remember the last game of the season when rivaldo scored that wonder goal and Louis van gaal went nuts at the sidelines. The needed that game to qualify for the champions League. Hmmmm how far they ve come since then. Now that’s what I call progress.

  89. tsgh says:

imagine a team made up of Figo, De Boer(s), Rivaldo, CoCu, your countryman Kluivert, Simao andaided with Overmars, petit etc not winning a title..

  90. goonster says:

LC that ll make a great movie lol. Whatever you got going on my friend I want a piece of the action ??clue me in son. Clue me in.

  91. goonster says:

Ts I had a sambrosa shirt back then. Loved that little bastard. Was gutted when he left Barca. What a team that was. Wow.

  92. tsgh says:

Goonie- you must admit Winston Bogarde was an enigma; 4 years at Chelsea on £100k+ a week without playing a single game…

  93. goonster says:

That was the biggest fraud in world football. That cnut sat out the duration of his contract. I still can’t believe he did that. Ran into him at Eindhoven one time he has that kinda face you ll love to punch. What a cnut.

  94. goonster says:

Maria Sharapova suspended for 2 years fifth testing positive to an banned substance. I think that’s it for her career. It’s over for her. Just stick to designing clothes Maria.

  95. tsgh says:

Talking about that Barca era, is it not ironic that Jose has come to take over LVG’s job ay Yanited?

Jose has no loyalty at all… but majority of football fans in UK love him so… at least judging from radio call ins…

  96. goonster says:

Tell me about it ts. What a snake. Remember in 1999 when manure beat Barca on their way to doing the treble (which still hurts by the way) I remember seeing a footage of that dwarf trying to pick a fight with a few of the manure back room staff. God I hate that turd faced bastard.

  97. goonster says:

Lol ts just had a thing for that little devil back then. Him gabri and dani. Whatever happened to them.

  98. tsgh says:

Chelsea has had a few holding Roman to ransom in the recent past…
Mutu, Malouda, Parker, crespo, Shevshenko (spelling) all come to mind

  99. goonster says:

Ts do you remember Barca vs chelsea when Figo ripped them apart after Celestine babayaro got sent off. One of my favorite cl games ever. Lol

  100. rico says:

‘Majority of football fans love Jose’ – err, I don’t think so! The chavs did but even they have turned against him….

  101. goonster says:

Mutu made a bad choice. Should have stayed with Fiorentina. Shame he never got his MOJO back after the whole drug problem. I liked him as a player. Man bring back the good old days ????

  102. tsgh says:

Lol Goonie was that the last Clasico he played in Barca shirt before he moved to RM?

Valencia had Mendieta too.. what a poor move which ended with him at Middlesbrough.

  103. goonster says:

Mendietta was a strange one. He went from world class to shit class in 2 years. Don’t remind of that Valencia team that made the finals twice in 3 years. What a squad. Like I always tell folks messi and Ronaldo dominated this Era because of how poor the rest of the world is. Trust me in that Era they ll just be like any other player. Remember that bayern team that won the cl. They had effenberg basler mehmet scholl. Wow football got earlier ts. It got easier.

  104. tsgh says:

Lol Rico- £2 bet for jose saying he is coaching at the only club he always wanted to manage so he gets fans back on his side…

    Chelsea fans will be fuming…

  105. Joe says:

Taking a drug for years longer than any medical treatment required this same drug was known to improve oxygen take up in the body and improve performance.
Two years sounds right to me just another Russian taking drugs IMO

  106. rico says:

He might get the Utd fans on side Ts, but not others. He’s not liked and one only has to read around social media to see that. £2 bet, keep it…

  107. goonster says:

Yeah ossei . Remember him smashing a hole into the grass when manure pip them to win the cl at the death. Lol one of the most iconic images ever.

  108. allezkev says:

Interesting to see that Mourinhos first piece of business at ManUre is a defender…

    If you don’t concede you don’t lose…

Hate his guts but he knows how to build a winning team…

  109. Joe says:

Utd fans didn’t like the way Van Gaal played football their going to love Mourinho’s way of playing football.

  110. goonster says:

Deal almost done guys. This is what we are getting. See why am fucking excited. This guy made auba look world class. I like auba but am glad we re getting mkhitaryan instead. Come on you gunners. Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah

  111. goonster says:

His best position is through the middle. He ll destroy a lot of teams if played as a 10. Would really suck to see him shunted on the wings. Maybe we ll play 4141 him and ozil in front of xhaka then….gee let me leave wenger’s job for him. Don’t want to give myself headache. Lol

  112. goonster says:

I don’t know really if it’s that close but he’s definitely coming. I think dortmund might want 30 plus for him that’s why it ll take a while. It ll probably rumble on all summer but in the end they ll let him go. Can’t afford another Lewa. They ll rather cash in on him. Man I feel had for the dortmund fans.

  113. rico says:

Joe, they won’t care if they start winning things again surely…

Goonie, don’t start all over again, please!

  114. Obi says:

Ts and Goonster, Sammy was crap…. back in the days when we played he could never get on the field. To this day, everyone of us is wondering how Osei Kuffour made it that far – fate is something, Black Starlets player get hurt on the way to the airport, no replacement can be located imagine, pre-cell phone Ghana, coach put his house boy on the team and the rest is history. Ironically, he didn’t live far from me in the Ash-town days and 20 years later he’s not far from me in Accra. His Kamakaze playing style never changed — will put his head on the ground if he had to lol. Every time I go back to Ghana I tried my best to avoid the little arrogant dude. We had the same dog trainer, the trainer hated him, but he had nice things to say about Anthony Yeboah though.

  115. goonster says:

Gee rico am not cursing or using any swear words? just passing the information I got forward to you guys.

  116. goonster says:

Obi I heard the former captain of the super eagles and manager passed away last night. I commiserate with you. Didn’t really see a lot of him during his playing days was too young but heard some nice things about him. Poor fella still young too I presume??

  117. Obi says:

Goonster @7:18, I said that yesterday that Mkhitaryan spoon feeds PEA. He can play anyway though as Ts will tell you Dortmund just started playing regularly in the 10 whole. When you watch him with Armenia he plays from the wings a lot.

  118. goonster says:

Am a dortmund fan obi whenever am in Europe I go see a game. If I can find a cheap ticket. Haven’t gone in 5 years now though but I watch every game except when it clashes with arsenal’s.

  119. Obi says:

All true Goonster. Stephen Keshi was one of my favorite player and I loved him even better as a coach because he didn’t put up with the lack of professionalism that African Players tend to show when they play for their countries. Watch him in the 2013 ACON.

  120. goonster says:

Did he ever play in Europe and what country?? I know a few Nigerian players back in Holland even though most of them played for the hated enemy “AJAX” like finidi George kanu tijani babangida oliseh Ikeda but one of my favorite African players ever was obiku think he played for feyenoord back in the day. Can’t remember.

  121. Obi says:

I think Keshi played at anderlecht but I remember him at Racing in France. He didn’t play much in Europe, I think. But I always saw him in ACON, most memorable Senegal v Nigeria in 1992.

  122. Micko says:

Roger Milla……he had some moves !

Stan, watch yourself buddy, you wouldn’t wanna spend the summer in boot camp with rico lol.

  123. Joaquim Moreira says:

Portugal 7-0 v. Estonia (80th minutes). A big difference between Portugal and England.
MU have now a very good defender.
Another good central forward to M. City , much better then Vardy

  124. obi says:

Goonster, for some reason I thought u were in Europe. I have family in England and dated a girl in England so I will go to see Arsenal play 2x a year. This year I went once just couldn’t take it, you know the state of Arsenal.

  125. goonster says:

Lol never been to a game obi. You re the few lucky ones. Am in Fuquay-Varina north Carolina USA. Been living here for almost 5 years now. Miss home though.

  126. allezkev says:

    Mathieu Debuchy will quit Arsenal
According to L’Équipe, Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy will leave the club this summer.

Debuchy has lost confidence in Arsène Wenger after the Arsenal manager promised the French international a chance in the 2015/16 campaign, only for him not to deliver, in Debuchy’s eyes.

Really, some of these over rated, underachieving , egotistical shitheads need a reality check.
Yeah, he really set Ligue Un alight when he was on loan there, the stupid prick… ?

  127. Lee says:

Bit like Wenger setting the PL alight for the last 12 years Kev……or the CL for the past 20 years!

  128. Le Coq Monster says:

    Morning all.

    Another scorcher here Pastyland.
Here is something to unlock Goonsters built up frustrations and really let loose with a frenetic release of emotion ! 😆

Mkhitaryan admitted in 2009 he would one day like to be an Arsenal player.

Speaking to UEFA.com, the Armenian international praised the club along with manager Arsene Wenger.

He said: “My favourite team is Arsenal.I like their attacking play and fast style.

“Moreover, Arsène Wenger puts faith in young players while demanding results at the same time. I like that and want to play there one day.”

  129. Adam says:

    Morning Rico and all.
I can easily imagine that scumbag wanting to use the Glazer’s money to screw Wenger. Then again, why are we pissing about with these transfers for so long? – again. Strange mindset at Arsenal.

  130. Wavy says:

The Pygmy always buys an Arsenal target because he knows he will be getting quality and that he has to do little or nothing of the necessary research. So Manure will be in the box seat unless the player does not want to go to the wet lands up north. Somehow I don’t think money will be the overriding factor. These guys are earning way too much already!

    Morning all.

  131. allezkev says:

It’s a beautiful, hot, sunny day in London Town…

In case anyone is interested, at the V&A there is a brief history of underwear…

    Calm down Stan…

  132. Marshall says:

Arsenal could start by showing serious piece of business by terminating Sanogo’s contract. It’s not funny anymore having that postman on our books.

  133. Lee says:

Rumours that Vary has told some England team mates he’s staying at Leicester….. what now Arsene?

  134. Lee says:

Actually Marshall it is funny having Sanogo on our books….he’s surely there for comedy reasons??

“Sanogo will surprise you,” Wenger said. “He has not made the headlines because he is not 50-100 million pounds but I am quite confident he will make them.” hahahahahaha

  135. Marshall says:

Lol Lee what did they (Wenger and co.) see exactly in him? One week at Ajax and they’d already said he was shit.

IG said they follow up a player for years before signing him up, if they signed someone at 21, they were watching him since he was like 12. I’d like to see who scouted such a player.

Joe placing all arsenal problems on Sanogo?

  136. Gd10 says:

So vardy reckons he’s staying (unambitious prick) and mkhi might be ripped from us.

I’m out. Going to have the summer off, enjoy life and take my seat back at the Emirates in august.

  137. Hell Raising Devil says:

    Good Afternoon Lovelies and Hunkies.

Sascha Lewandowski, at just 44 years of age has passed away. He had coached Berlin and Bayer Leverkeusen. He was found dead at his home.

  138. Lee says:

Adam it’s not like we cant afford him is it?

One (maybe two) of Walcott, Ox, Ramsey or Wilshere should be sold and use their transfer fees towards P.E.A……

  139. Adam says:

Yes, I agree. Perhaps Arsenal aren’t such a draw these days.
Theoretically we could afford Pogba too and offset up to half the cost by selling a couple of those you mention. If a player like Vady is blowing us out – and it remains an ‘if’ – then the pressure will start to ramp up and that’s the last thing that the management need. We cannot necessarily expect success but the club must absolutely show big ambition if they want the fans on their side. Going into next season like we did the last would be a disaster, PR and supporter-wise.

  140. Lee says:

I think Wenger knows that he can’t start next season Giroud as our main striker…. at least I hope he does!

  141. obi says:

Lee he knows but does he care. He knew he needed a proper DM cover last year too and what happened?

  142. Malaga gooner says:

    Afternoon Rico and the house

Just waiting for wenger to say he didn’t know pea was available

  143. Lee says:

Obi & Brudder maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part BUT surely he knows that Ozil created all those chances and we didn’t convert anywhere near the percentage we should of…..

He just has to upgrade our strike force!

  144. Le Coq Monster says:

Maybe in Wenger World the clock is a year behind !……..next season he will have a 💡 moment and realise we need a striker and the season after that another CB !…………………..he actually thinks the Euros is the World Cup and Brexit is the General Election !.

  145. allezkev says:

I imagine that Vardy’s advisors have told him to let it slip that he’s leaning towards staying at Leicester, to try and force Arsenal to improve their offer.
It’s all brinkmanship and par for the course.

You know, I don’t know why Wenger doesn’t just go out and get Higuain, job done !

  146. Le Coq Monster says:

Hey Adam and Lee !……….are you real Brudders ?…………..or Brudders from Udder Mudders ? 😆

  147. rico says:

    Afternoon guys…

So Vardy doesn’t want to sign for Arsenal. What a jerk!!

    Did someone mention Sanogo? I need a gardener….. 😉

  148. rico says:

Neither this year sadly Kev, just runner beans. The chickens now live in the old veggie patch which used to get bombarded with slugs! Made it all a bit pointless really… 🙁

  149. Lee says:

Maybe he wants to continue letting Hercules pull him around Shepherd’s Bush looking for “any old iron?”

  150. Adam says:

Brudder. That is true in my experience. So many ifs and buts these days where this current Arsenal are concerned.

  151. potter says:

When we had chickens and ducks we rarely saw a slug , but since the ducks migrated to the broads and our local neighbourhood fox got the chickens the slugs are making a comeback.

  152. rico says:

Potter, no slugs now since the chooks are back…

I set many of those Lee, it was quite funny watching them get tiddled and then go to heaven… lol

  153. Le Coq Monster says:

I`ve had every Pasty in Cornwall, Lee.
The most important thing in a pasty is that it`s steak and not mince !. I like the non traditional one`s the best like a Beef Curry Pasty !……….The Cornish probably think I`m a philistine if they could spell it !.

  154. rico says:

🙂 Adam, they eat anything and everything. In fact they are quite nasty things really. But they lay beautiful eggs and love a cuddle….

  155. rico says:

Defoe has signed a new 3 year contract at Sunderland. That’s a big fat wow for him at 33 years old. Shame we didn’t get him last summer….

  156. allezkev says:

Brudder Lee, I don’t like beer, I love beer, and wine be it red or white or sparkling, I also like curry and I’m gonna have a mega ruby this Saturday whilst I watch Jack Wilshere pull the strings… ?

And I’m quite looking forward to visiting Dishooms, as soon as Brudder Adam sorts it out… ?

I’m also looking forward to visiting a whole host of new pie n mash shops…

  157. allezkev says:

I also love a Cornish pasty, especially from a bagel bakers in Stoke Newington High Road.
It’s mince, but when they are freshly baked they’re the nuts….

I must say that the curry one sounds interesting…

  158. Adam says:

    Morning Rico and all.
I see the English fans have started to kick off in France. There are some things, in an ever-changing world, that can always be relied on.

  159. Lee says:

Brudder. Marseille has always been a bit dodgey as an area…… just add thousands of pissed up knuckle dragging Englishman, screaming “Isis where are you?” can’t help but think it’ll boot off!

  160. potter says:

My firdt thoughts too Lee , as soon as they announced Marseille I thought that’s a must to avoid.

  161. Adam says:

I found it rather odd that Wenger went so overboard about Kante. Either he has already signed him and is being a bit flash about it or he is friends with his agent and wants to talk the price up and attract potential buyers. The other possibility is that he has absolutely no interest in him at all.

  162. Wavy says:

Adam, you are absolutely right about Kante and Wenger, it’s definitely one of those options! However, the least likely is not signing him………but he could have. We I’ll learn much later, in his memoirs perhaps!
Wenger and inertia are the best of friends! I fear!

Morning all. And a cheery day to you all.
