Sead Kolasinac follows Liverpool and knows how to stop them…

Morning all.

“When you have such a long career as I have, you have some defeats unfortunately that hurt you for the rest of your life. I believe what is interesting in football is you always have a time to make up for it.

“When you can put things right, do it. So let’s focus on what is in front of us and turn up on Friday night with a completely different performance.”

Arsene Wenger is of course talking about our battering at Anfield earlier this season and not the other hefty defeats we’ve experienced in recent times and there’s been a few hammerings hasn’t there? Since being beaten by Man Utd at The Emirates, we’ve been awful and apart from the odd game or two, we’ve been pretty average all season. As said before, I’ve not been as bored watching this team under Wenger as I am these days.

Liverpool are on a bit of a good run away from home having won their last four whilst scoring sixteen goals along the way. Incredible though that there’s just one point between the two sides. Wenger is right though, we do need to see a completely different performance and attitude tonight than we saw at Anfield but the question is, will we?

Sead Kolasinac:

“If you know someone is faster than you, don’t give them any space, get tight and prevent them from having an opportunity to use their pace. That will be decisive. If their front players are able to utilise their speed, it will be tough to catch them. Before they get on the ball, we need to be tight to them.

“I’ve followed Liverpool because Joel Matip is a good friend of mine. As a team, they work well and that’s why it will be a difficult task for us to beat them on Friday.”

It’s not rocket science is it? Don’t give them space or time on the ball, certainly not the so called ‘fab four,’ Firmino, Coutinho. Sane and Salah who the media are gushing over and we have to stifle Coutinho. Do that and half the job is done. Salah also, cut the supply to him and he’ll be less of a problem but how Wenger does that I don’t know. I doubt he does either but as we’ve all said and many times, every now and again, he and his team spring a surprise and I hope tonight is one of those night’s because Liverpool are one of those clubs I detest. Not quite as much as the neighbours but it’s close.

I reckon The Emirates faithful will be up for this one, let’s pray that Wenger and the players are too.

Have a good day guys..

Also i would not be surprised that if the overated Ox will throw his everything just to prove why he choose them than us.

In any event is a very good riddance as there is nothing in him. He had plenty of chances had he had it.

Is just an overhyped over rated English flop.
I wish we stayed put with Campbell rather than put faith on this clown or the donkey Wally.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a pretty average footballer, losing Robin Van Persie to Man U or Samir Nasri to Man C is worth getting upset about, but the Ox, I don’t think so…

The media will focus on it, but I won’t, I was glad we sold him, vastly overrrated player.

Afternoon Rico. Personally, I am finding it hard to get caught up in this season. It has that end-of-term feel about it. Wenger has lead the club along to where we are now so we’ll just have to wait and see where it takes us.

    Glad you agree Alex… ??

    Is he Rico?
Hmm, tbh I’m more focused on fighting my way through the manic crowds at Sainsbury’s in awhile, rather than Alex bloody Chamberlain.
The major advantage of the Ox (lol) joining Liverpool, is that the Scousers NewsNow feed will be full of all that nonsense from airhead Perrie Edwards – I really don’t miss all her trivia…

Tbh Adam, I feel that Wenger needs to see someone, you know, lay on a couch and get it it all out in the open, get it off of his chest, get a life outside of football perhaps, open a bar in Alsace and retire, spend some of his millions.

    Afternoon all

IMO I read it that both teams have a suspect defence yet at this moment of time Liverpool’s attack is firing better than ours so there is an argument for any of the the three possible results. My heart says Arsenal, my head says Liverpool, but not confident .Salah is a big danger.

    Rico

Xaka again caught sleep for the goal.
When one pays 35M for this crap is just the story of that defunct manager.

Iwobi is there because is over rated accademy product
    .give nothing offensively
    Give nothing in defense

  7. Joaquim Moreira says:

with this midfield what you expect?
    Iwoby – ozil -Wilshere !!!
after 20 minutes the team is completely unbalanced!

  8. Kel says:

whether we win this game or not… we’re a fucking disgrace defensively and Wenger really is a pathetic coach at setting his team up.

    shambles…

  9. Kk says:

Thought jacky boy and AMN had good game. .
We were lucky to get a draw. .
Defense was shambles as usual and Czec kept the score down really ..

  10. Alex says:

    @KK
CHECK kept the score down …….

    Really ???

The tree goals absolutely save able in my eyes

Fact is these are two comical teams they have no clue how to defend.

The good thing i noticed is Le Prof look dejected pale and not even standed to celebrate the goal 1 n 2.

He is gone …..and should go at low .Very low.Pathetic old man is really a digrace.

  11. kelsey says:

Easy to say after the game but at 3-2 we should have peppered Mignolet with shots. He is the worst keeper I have seen here this seasn. My reason was that we just can’t defend and Xhaka’s goal though enjoyable literally went through Mignolet’s hands.
Game panned out as I expected but at 2-0 down Liverpool should never have let us back us in.Great for the neutral but we have a huge defensive problem and a manager who doesn’t know how to set up a defence.Jack had an excellent game as did Lacazette to me our best players on the night.Watch Salah’s goal again, unbelievable he walked through three defenders, though he is a really good player.

  12. kelsey says:

Iwobi really isn’t the standard required.Kos has gone off the boil dramatically but as I said just now AW doesn’t know how to set out a defence or buy the right players.Neville said on air it was “fever pitch”

  13. jeff wright says:

3-3 flattered us and again our players failed miserably to live up to their pre-match boasting and claims. An entertaining game though but made so by Keystone Kop defending by both sides .Keystone Kos got away with a massive blunder but he along with fellow Frenchman Wenger is well past it .Anyway Merry Xmas to everyone .Have a nice one !,

  14. Adam says:

Morning Rico. I can’t see what Iwobi has done that would get him a starting place myself. What on Earth was going on out there in the first half I don’t know. After a brief flurry, Liverpool certainly dominated but got lucky with a couple of deflections and we got lucky with their poor finishing. The list of first half awful performances is long. Bit better in the second half and after somehow getting the lead it was disappointing that we, again, stood off the Liverpool players to allow them the equaliser. Why we never close the opposition down remains a mystery. Arsenal are an itsy bitsy team who are certainly capable of doing damage at times, but the chemistry is somehow all wrong for me.
Wenger can certainly see what’s wrong but seems powerless to change it.

  15. rico says:

    Morning Adam and all.

At 3-2 we should have concentrated on defending but as so often, we gifted them an equaliser.

Me neither re Iwobi, he’s just not right for this team imo. There has to be a better option surely, like Elneny.

Jack played well, very well I thought.

  16. Adam says:

Rico, I agree. Jack was looking to create dangerous situations whenever he got the ball and he did some good defensive stuff too.
The club is, as ever, screaming out for a new, more focussed approach and Wenger is never going to provide that is he?

  17. rico says:

Adam, Maitland-Niles looked decent too I thought.

No, Wenger isn’t going to change now, it’s far too late. It pains me knowing that a new man could do a lot more with this squad and would if only Wenger would admit he’s come to his end.
